Dance on Ice - Chapter 1

TL Notes:

Kotatsu (炬燵): Is a low table over an electric heater with a blanket covering it. 

For those who don’t know, “Kuma-kun” refers to Ritsu.

Lacking in calcium: As far as I know, this is a Japanese belief where it’s said that people tend to get irritated easily when they’re lacking in calcium.

In the line where Izumi “deems [the guy hanging around his “little sister”] intolerable”, the original script had 無理 (muri) which may also refer to personality; in which case Izumi would be unable to tolerate him due to his bad personality. 

Izumi: Ahh geez, this place is so messy, it’s like a house full of garbage!

Even if the studio’s like our hangout, you’re bringing in way too many personal items!

The kotatsu* and heater take up too much room, so it’s hard to move around, and there are even health appliances in here... Look, there’s even a book on dieting.

You seriously think of the studio like home, don’t you.

Ou-sama’s gone mad and even named it the “Sena House” or something. My house doesn’t reek of people living there.

Hey, there’s half-finished tea here too! I’ve told them so many times to finish what they drink! This is so frustrating!

...Hm? Anzu, I’m cleaning right now, so don’t open the door. The wind’s gonna come in and the rubbish will fly everywhere.

Why am I cleaning, you ask? Can’t you tell by looking...? There are empty snack packets and cans all over the place, right?

No one’s cleaning up after themselves, so I’ve got no choice but to do it.

Hmm~... you say you’re gonna help? It’s nice seeing that you want to help out an upperclassman, but you don’t have to help me clean.

I mean, the one who made this mess is “Knights”, after all. There’s no need for you to concern yourself and take over.

Hmph. So someone told you that “producers” support idols and provide help if they’re in trouble.

That’s only if the “idol” is in trouble, right?

Right now, you’ve gotten pretty skilled as a “producer”, so I’ll go to you for advice if I really need it.

And I don’t really want to bother you when it comes to things that isn’t related to idol work, anyway.

Well, if you want to help out no matter what, then I won’t force you to stop. I’ll prepare a cup of tea as thanks, as well as some snacks.

I’ve got the snacks Kuma-kun* brought in, so I’m sure he won’t be angry if I told him I gave them to you to eat.

Ahh, non-burnable rubbish goes in that bag. I’ve got another one for burnables, so separate them like that.

You get people who don’t distinguish them from time to time, right?

There’s a designated date for taking the rubbish out, so I bet they don’t even realise how much trouble they’re causing other people if they don’t separate them.

So you follow the rules and separate the rubbish, huh. Yep, good girl...♪

Ahh, it’s nothing important. I was just thinking how it’s strange, considering you were afraid of me when we first met, but recently, you’ve been surprisingly calm no matter what I do.

It’s a shame I lost the opportunity to train a rebellious, bratty kid, but I don’t particularly hate being genuinely relied on...♪

Anyway, I didn’t hear the reason why you came here.

You didn’t come here to relax like everyone else, right?

Work for “Knights”...? I knew it, I had a feeling it was something like that.

Ahh, I’ve worked with them through my agency before. It’s a popular magazine, so the pay should be fairly good, right?

It’ll also help boost our popularity, so I guess there isn’t any reason to decline.

But, still, I’m not the leader of “Knights”.

I was the leader until Ou-sama came back, but since the real leader is here, I don’t have the right to decide whether we accept the offer or not.

It’s not a bad offer, so I don’t mind bringing it up with him. Well, finding him is the real difficulty.

He can’t stay still in one place and he disappears when I take my eyes off him. What is he, a little kid?

Since you’re the one who found him, and considering how even the police had a hard time themselves, you might be able to do it again.

The first thing you have to do is tie him up to make sure he doesn’t go off anywhere, but it feels like he’s gonna escape before you know it.

Anyway, I’ll look for Ou-sama on my end too. We’ll contact each other if one of us finds him, alright?

*Phew~* Man, it’s warm! There’s a world of difference outside! I’m gonna live here for good~♪

Izumi: Hey, you gave me a fright!? Don’t leave the door half open, all the cold air’s gonna come in!

Leo: Ohh, Sena! You’re as cheerful as always, they do say that children are happy to play outdoors in any weather. I’m happy that you’ve grown up to be a strong kid who can bear the cold~♪

Ah, Anzu’s here too! You’re really everywhere, huh. I feel like you’re the one I see the most in this academy...♪

Izumi: Ahh! Don’t come in here soaking wet, the pile of snow on top of your head’s melted and it’s turned into water droplets!

Why didn’t you brush off the snow before you came in? The studio’s gonna be soaking wet now!

Leo: Hmm, you sure are irritated. Are you lacking in calcium*? You’re only Sena when you’re nagging -- I guess you’re the same as always if I had to say so, though.

Ah, I know! You were having a friendly chat with Anzu and you feel interrupted because I came, right?

You’re a big bro too, huh. You’ve gotta get rid of the bad bugs if they’re clinging to your kid sister. In fact, I’d make him regret he was ever born...!

Izumi: Don’t say something so creepy. You probably overlapped it with your own sister, but I won’t go that far.

Well, I’ll at least make sure he can support her properly. As a result, I don’t know what’s gonna happen if I deem him intolerable* though...?
