There was a mermaid who had chosen to go onto land, who had given up her tail for legs, her fangs for square teeth, her feathery gills for pretty pink lungs. And she grew to regret it. She had fallen in love with a mortal man, and found him to be nothing but a fool.
She hadn't realized how diffenet her new body was. She knew she would have legs, she prepared for that, but she didn't prepare to really be a human woman. Her silver scales were now replaced with pale skin, which seemed so weak and easy to hurt to her, she felt flayed alive. She wasn't prepared to wear clothing on her body, which felt like being trapped in a net. And not to mention how slowly she moved, how strange and disturbing it was to not be able to swim miles and miles whenever she needed to, she was trapped in one little peice of the world.
Not to mention, she had to eat human food now, which was set on fire before it was served to her, and it was sometimes made of plants. She wanted to vomit just thinking about it, but her new body needed it to live, and she cried through every meal. And just as bad where her new reproductive organs, that were so much more complex, and bled for her constantly, and made it feel like she was always wounded.
The worst thing about her reproductive organs was how her husband treated them. She had fallen in love with him from the sea, watching him and knowing so little about his kind or his disposition. He wanted to mate nearly every night, but wanted no hatchinglings to come from it. And human mating itself was disgusting to her, instead of just laying eggs for him he'd somehow be inside her. She didn't want to imagine the details. She made excuses to keep him away, but she knew some day she would run out, and wept knowing it would happen.
Her husband was a strange human. She thought he was a prince when she watched him from the water but he had a diffrent title as a duke of some sort, bowing to a king on a different continent. She had seen him in uniform and thought him a hero, slaying dragons and orcs and devils and harpies and goblins and witches. But all the dragons and harpies had fled to the skies, and the goblins and orcs deep underground, and the devils and witches had gone into hiding. She saw him set fire to a witch once, she wasn't sure she was a witch though, but it wasn't brave, all she did was cry, he didn't fight her at all.
All her husband's wars were with other humans. Sometimes humans with diffrent flags who seemed the same as them. Sometimes humans who had been on the land longer then him, who his armies pushed further and further from the coast. Sometimes his own subjects, weeping and broken masses, people he hurt, those were the wars he won the most. She wanted to help him just to be with him, but she learned human women weren't allowed to fight. So when he was at war he was away, and when he wasn't all he talked about was war, and money, and the awful things he wanted to do with her.
She expected to be his wife in a way she wasn't. She learned human wives were treated like children to their husbands, that they had to obey them, that he could yell and her and hurt her just like he did his servents. She learned he was able to yell at his servents, she was allowed to too but she didn't. She learned things she had to do, she had to become civilized, whatever it meant to be civilized. She wasn't allowed to go outside the palace, not alone. And she wasn't allowed to pray to the gods of the deep, she had to pray to the one god of the humans, a bleeding god on a torture device, a sad god, a weak god.
There was one final night when her husband tried to force her to mate with him, more forcefully then he ever had before. He hit her. And though she didn't have fangs anymore she bit him so hard he bled. He tried to restrain her, to undress her, to undress himself. She ripped off the part of his body he tried to pit inside her. And she thought it so strange, how blood looks on land, flowing to the bottom as opposed to floating away.
She walked to the water after that. And slowly walked in, losing herself in the waves. Some people think she became a mermaid again, and that she's safe in her kingdom in the deep. But others think she walked into the water knowing she'd stay a human, and let the ocean filling her lungs set her free.

Hey guys this is Samantha again and I decided to do another story based on The Little mermaid and this is a gift for @eeveepalooza I decided to make the characters including Faith ( @eeveepalooza ) as Ariel and Mordecai from Regular Show as Prince Eric
Tumblr media
The Little Eevee
Beginning:
Once upon a time, in a magical underwater kingdom, lived Faith the Eevee, a curious and adventurous young Eevee with a beautiful singing voice. She was the youngest daughter of King Triton, the powerful and protective ruler of the underwater kingdom. However, Faith was fascinated with the world above the sea and often collected human artifacts with her best friend Flounder.
Scene: Faith's Secret Grotto
Faith: singing "Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?"
Flounder: "Faith, you’re gonna get in trouble if your dad finds out about this place!"
Faith: "I just want to know more about them, Flounder. The humans seem so interesting."
One day, Faith notices a ship above the water and swims up to investigate. Onboard, she sees Prince Mordecai, a handsome and kind-hearted prince. Instantly, Faith falls in love with him. Suddenly, a violent storm hits, and Mordecai is thrown overboard. Faith saves him and brings him to shore.
Faith: "Please be safe, my prince. I wish I could be part of your world."
Middle:
Faith's longing to be with Mordecai grows stronger. She goes to see Ursula, the sea witch, who agrees to turn her into a human for three days in exchange for her voice. Faith accepts the deal and transforms into a human, with the condition that she must receive a "true love's kiss" from Mordecai to remain human forever. Otherwise, she will turn back into an Eevee and belong to Ursula.
Ursula: "Now sing, sing for your dear sea witch!"
Faith: silently "I can't believe I did this. I hope Mordecai will love me without my voice."
Faith, now on land, meets Mordecai, who is enchanted by her beauty but puzzled by her silence. Despite the communication barrier, they spend time together and begin to form a bond.
Mordecai: "There's something about you, Faith. I feel like I've met you before."
As the third day approaches, Ursula disguises herself as a beautiful human named Vanessa and uses Faith's voice to enchant Mordecai, making him forget about Faith and decide to marry Vanessa.
Mordecai: "I can't believe it, Vanessa is the girl who saved me!"
End:
Heartbroken, Faith is determined to stop the wedding. With the help of her friends, including Flounder and Sebastian, they manage to reveal Ursula's deception. The sea witch transforms back into her true form and tries to take Faith down to the ocean.
Sebastian: "Quickly, Faith! You must break the spell!"
In the ensuing battle, King Triton arrives and sacrifices himself to save Faith, becoming Ursula's prisoner. Seeing Faith's bravery and love for her father, Mordecai realizes that she is the one who saved him.
Mordecai: "Faith, I know it's you! I love you!"
He kisses Faith, breaking the spell. King Triton is freed, and in his rage, he destroys Ursula with his powerful trident.
King Triton: "You have shown great courage, Faith. You truly belong to both worlds."
King Triton, seeing his daughter's happiness, grants Faith her wish to be human permanently. Faith and Mordecai marry, uniting the two worlds.
Faith: "Thank you, Father. I will always cherish our underwater home."
Mordecai: "We'll visit often, I promise."
And so, Faith the Eevee and Prince Mordecai lived happily ever after, celebrating their love and the unity of land and sea.
THE END
@eeveepalooza I hope you love this

So, I got to dress up as a pirate to help volunteer at my aquarium for a Halloween event. And it got me thinking…
Thoughts on a story featuring a sassy, sapphic pirate who makes stupid decisions and puts on too much eyeliner, her unruly crew, and a siren she eventually falls for— a siren in which is incredibly ticked off that this pirate is constantly flirting with her and is immune to her song?
Should I eventually write it? And by eventually I mean I might make it a real book to publish or I might release it sparingly on here when I find time to write it.

Floating Palace, Part 2.
Mixed feelings about this scene:
This whole thing about "all women competing for men's attention" and seeing other women as competition is really boring and stereotypical. Even more so, when it comes to a couple like Roland and Miranda, since they both already had previous relationships, having lost their partners in equally tragic ways.
Then, they would know better than to be jealous of each other, as they would be more mature when it comes to trust and the feelings of others.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, I confess that Miranda's expression of disapproval of Roland's silly face is a little funny.
Queen Emmaline is a mermaid, and they are known for enchanting humans with their songs and and beautiful appearance. Besides being a queen since birth, unlike Miranda who was a peasant shoemaker.
( Maybe this somehow made Miranda insecure?)
So it would be a case of Queen Emmaline having a somewhat unfair advantage, if Roland wasn't alredy in love with Miranda and they weren't married.
( Imagine how jealous she must have been of Birk at the time that he was alive, and they were still engaged. Since he was the captain of a ship, inaddition to months at sea, some "land women" would be as insistent as seagulls circling over fishing boats.)
And it turns out that Roland ended up being impressed by someone who slightly resembles his current wife, with curly brown hair and who has a strong feeling of love for her family.
