it is now my new goal in life to convince people to play spark the electric jester. extremely underrated and niche game. like 5 people posting about it. liiterally some of the most insanely good and fun indie games I've seen in a while. it's so good. nobody seemingly knows it exists. i NEED people to know about spark the electric jester

#IT'S SO GOOD. SO GOOD #I'm losing jt #currently we've only played the first game cause my brother got it as a gift on steam and we can't buy the second and third yet #which is a big pity cause games 2 and 3 shift to 3D and they look AMAZING #but just the first game as well. beautiful pixel art. smooth as hell gameplay #it plays like sonic but it has kirby-style powerups and metroidvania style maps #the gameplay is so fun and works so well it's never too easy or too hard it's fast paced but fluid and easy to control #the power ups all have original powers that works in unique ways you can choose and learn to master #the soundtrack goes CRAZY #the story and characters are so fun #spark is SO cute and fark as well i love the character designs the cute ant inspired aliens and the robots #it homages the things that inspired it but all together creates an original and special thing in itself #and from what i can see from the 3D games they play similar to how 3D sonic games play #(while game one plays more like classic sonic)#it looks like they have big fancy bosses in an almost souls-like style #and clearly a bunch of new characters and a crazy looking new story and lore #that seems to take a more deep/serious tone that takes itself more seriously instead of just the goofiness of the first game....#GOD I'M SO EXCITED THIS GAME IS SO GOOD #🧃.txt

Jack Desmond is the silly guy. Gavriel Huffman is the scary guy. They come from different worlds that has contrasting genres, one more cartoonishly comedic and the other much dramatically darker.

It's kind of a running gag that Sir Huffman is unable to laugh without looking absolutely wicked. Both in the cartoon world and his own world.

That doesn't stop Jack from being completely smitten with him though, his voice is the most mind-melting thing he's ever had the pleasure to hear

If you're stressing out about a part of the writing process for fanfic to the point where it's not fun anymore, just don't do that part

Post that fanfic with 1000 grammar and spelling errors. Make your characters OOC and give it a Mary Sue. It is a hobby you're sharing not a literature assignment you have to turn in by midnight

I keep seeing the “Constantine is a soul whore” fanon interpretation. It’s fun and enjoyable to read but I do think it’s important to also know the canon and WHY he sold his soul.

he’s only sold his soul to three demons. All of which he did in rapid succession (same night) to trick them into curing his lung cancer because they didn’t want to deal with Satan being mad at them + causing a civil war in hell just because of this fuckers soul being claimed. The message more being that he’s the worlds best conman and less that he sells his soul all the time.

#it’s just fun to know the comic reason for the fanon interpretation. this isn’t me shitting on the concept but I just… I feel with people #not knowing the context of the soul selling the reason why and why it’s impactful kinda lost itself in the fanon #I was gonna do a long post but this is a vertigo comic and it talks about cancer a lot and Constantine kills himself so like #suicide mention #yeah. it’s an absolutely fantastic story though.
