Oof my heart! What if once desmond and his family are settled, he’s getting ready to go find the auditore and find out who did it only for Giovani to show up, maybe offer recompense for breaking his promise? Desmond can chew him out and/or take his life depending. Maybe Giovani offers to care for his family?
Vieri is gonna be an angry shit, desmond will have his hands full , maybe get his brother to help him with their father?
Also, desmond does know where some treasure is hidden he can use
From @lilyrose225writes
Oooof ow my heart :D Too bad Giovanni feels like he can't just tell Lorenzo no on this one
Because of course--Giovanni/House Auditore owes Desmond/House Alberti for saving him, Federico, and Petruccio. So like... killing Uberto for that is in poor taste at that point
In a scenario where Giovanni would show up after everything has been done, Desmond wouldn’t believe him. If it was true that Giovanni had been the one to kill his father, Giovanni didn’t have to wait for so long to confess.
Enough time has passed that Desmond was able to settle everything so his family would be safe and cared for while he’s gone.
Enough time… for one of Giovanni’s son to return to Firenze and tell their father what they had done.
So by trying to confess to what he had done after days of trying to swallow his guilt, Giovanni accidentally made himself less suspicious and pointed the blame on either of his sons.
Desmond wouldn’t trust his words. Any words of an Auditore now, not when they had gone back on their words.
And he wouldn’t trust the Auditores to take care of his family.
That was why they had gone to Spain in the first place.
While Spain wasn’t the safest place to be, the Spanish Brotherhood was in a strong position at the moment that they would not fall for any of Giovanni Auditore’s bullshit. Giovanni Auditore’s standing in the Brotherhood is already skewered at the moment. The Italian Brotherhood still allies themselves with him even though he had shown time and time again that he was too close to the Medici. The Spanish Brotherhood does not approve of this so it was easy for Desmond to request their aid. To tell them the truth of what had happened between their houses and ask that they help care for his innocent family.
The Spanish Brotherhood agreed to it because they honored Desmond’s honesty and…
Well…
Desmond was definitely not an Assassin.
No.
His motives were too selfish and would simply sully the Creed but the Spanish Brotherhood gave their blessing and promised if he could bring proof that someone killed his father by the orders of a Medici then…
Well…
Desmond was sure there won’t be a civil war between the Spanish Brotherhood and the Italian Brotherhood.
But this might become the sword that finally cuts the ties that binds the Medici to the Assassins in Italia.
But Desmond…
Desmond didn’t really give a fuck about that.
He wanted answers.
And Giovanni’s insistence that it was him only made him believe that…
One of his sons did it and he was covering for it.
Another Desmond reborn as X, but this one is as Uberto Alberti's kid. Who we don't know anything about but "family" is the reason he betrayed his friend supposedly so I'd be interesting if Desmond could try and avoid it this time around.
According to the transcription of Uberto’s database in ACII:
Now, I found a backdoor into the Templars' database server, I've been combing it for some kind of smoking gun. I found it. Apparently, Uberto's family was evicted by the Medici bank. Uberto's been aching for revenge ever since, and the Templars promised him support. Ezio's father was standing in the way AND Uberto was jealous of his influence over the Florentine government. Two birds with one stone, isn't it? It looks like Uberto used his election to the Signoria as his opportunity to strike.
Apparently, he joined the Templars because the Medici evicted his family.
If he is part of the real House Alberti, there is no mentions of any evictions in wiki nor any mention of an Uberto. The Albertis were allies of the Medici as far as I read.
Returned to Florence, in the 15th century they were first allied to the Medici against the Albizzi. Main members of the period include writer Antonio Alberti, cardinal Alberto di Giovanni Alberti and architect and Renaissance theorist Leon Battista Alberti.
But wiki did say that they “divided into different lines, who owned several houses and towers near the modern Ponte alle Grazie” and “Some of them were admitted in the Venetian nobility late in the century” so maybe Uberto’s family wasn’t one of those few fortunate Albertis to gain nobility.
So, really…
Giovanni died and dragged his two sons with him because of his ties to the Medicis.
And Desmond would point that out.
In this setup, Desmond would probably think of Uberto as a good father as he did stress he did it for his family (although another setup is that Uberto is using the whole “I’m doing it for my family” to hide his greed and thirst for power but that would be a bit boring so we’ll go down the ‘a good man wishing to avenge his family’s misfortunes’ route instead).
So Desmond would want to protect his new family (especially if he has younger siblings). When they get evicted, Desmond understood why Uberto did what he did. Maybe add in the drama of the eviction being all of a sudden or not given any warning before they were evicted during a time when Firenze was having ‘money problems’.
Desmond knew that the Templars would contact Uberto then and tried to stop Uberto from saying yes to the Templars but he’d say that this was their only choice if they wish to protect their family.
(If you really wanna drive in a conundrum, one of Desmond’s siblings or his mother falls ill during this time and the financial support the Templars gave them is what kept them from dying or maybe said mother/sibling was already ill and almost died had it not been for the Templars’ money)
In the end, Desmond tries to leave the Auditores alone but, instead, Ezio found him and started to talk to him. Desmond couldn’t help but form a bond with Ezio anyway, maybe become a close friend who doesn’t really like to be seen with others.
Ezio knows Desmond spend most of his time caring for his ailing sibling/mother, and he remembers Petruccio so he has a soft spot for Desmond.
Anyway…
Uberto still becomes a Templar and Desmond tries to undermine him, first by trying to save the decoded message that Giovanni needed but that failed because Uberto knew that Desmond was trying to stop him so he’s become more ‘suspicious’. He never scolds Desmond though and he understands what his son is doing so he tells Desmond to continue to try and stop him…
“This way… no matter which sides wins, our family will be safe.”
And Desmond realized then and there that Uberto was ready to die if it meant their family would be safe and financially secured.
In the end…
Desmond helped Giovanni, Federico and Petruccio escape by unlocking their cage and telling them that Uberto’s a Templar. Desmond begs Giovanni to not kill Uberto, that he’ll be able to make Uberto understand that they have failed and they’ll leave Firenze, hell, they’ll leave all of Italia, just…
“Please… don’t kill padre.”
Giovanni promises not to kill Uberto if they leave Firenze as soon as possible.
And Desmond is able to persuade Uberto to do just that, telling him that revenge means nothing if it would lead to his death.
.
Now.
The happy ending would be that Desmond and Ezio would see each other and there will be this strain in their friendship because of Uberto’s betrayal that they will slowly get past.
But…
The more angst-filled route would be…
Lorenzo wants all the conspirators of the Pazzi conspiracy to be killed and Uberto was one of them. He orders Giovanni to kill Uberto and Giovanni tried to say no, at first, only to acquiesce once Lorenzo reminded him who he was ‘allies’ with.
Desmond finds an Assassin standing in front of his father’s bleeding corpse and the darkness and his shock made it hard for him to see the Assassin clearly.
All he knows…
… was that the Assassin was wearing Ezio’s robes…
.
.
In this setup, Desmond would be torn between wanting to take vengeance or being the person to cut the noose of revenge that keeps looping and looping around all of them.
His trust in the Auditores would be destroyed and Desmond would want to believe that it wasn’t Ezio, that maybe it was Giovanni or even Federico but a part of him would whisper that it could have been Ezio. Ezio wasn’t there when Desmond begged for his father’s life.
Last time he saw Ezio, he was wearing those robes…
And Desmond can’t…
… will not kill Ezio even if a part of him wished to avenge Uberto’s death.
They had no reason to kill him.
His family had exiled themselves away from Firenze, living as normal farmers of all things.
He…
He needed to know the truth.
And, once he knows it…
That’s when he’ll decide how to end this chain of vengeance.
With blood spilled… or not.
#more misunderstandings!#lots of more misunderstandings!#giovanni is trying to do the right thing#but he’s too late#lorenzo doesn’t know the ticking bomb he has unleashed#none of them do#the spanish brotherhood is mainly there#to make sure desmond would feel#that his family will be safe#and he can leave them behind for a while

Gael García Bernal Doesn’t Believe in Skincare
The actor talks about Mexican coffee, his rock collection and reuniting with his Y tu Mamá También co-star Diego Luna.
From the Wall Street Journal, Oct. 14, 2024 8:00 am ET
By Lane Florsheim
(source) When Gael García Bernal landed a role in Y tu Mamá También in his early 20s, he didn’t know his career was about to take off. It was a small-budget film, and Mexican cinema had yet to break through in the American box office.
But the steamy 2001 movie, about best friends on a road trip through Mexico, was a hit. It became one of the highest-grossing Spanish-language films in the U.S. And it anointed García Bernal and his costar, Diego Luna, as leading men.
The two actors had known each other since infancy, growing up together in Mexico City. “Anything I say stays short of all the complexities of the love and the brotherhood we have for each other,” García Bernal, 45, said of Luna. Together, he said, “we learned that to make cinema, you have to misbehave a little bit, but be humble as well.”
García Bernal has gone on to star in a variety of Spanish and English projects, including The Motorcycle Diaries, Babel and the TV adaptation of Station Eleven. All the while, he and Luna have remained close collaborators. The actors run a production company together called La Corriente del Golfo. And this month, for the first time in over a decade, they’re reuniting onscreen. Their new show, La Máquina, features García Bernal as an aging boxer and Luna as his flashy, corrupt manager.
Now available on Hulu, La Máquina is the streamer’s first original Spanish-language series. “It was about time,” García Bernal said. “We’re very happy that it’s happening like this.”
García Bernal lives in Buenos Aires and Mexico City. Here, he shares his most prized possessions, how he got into character for his latest role and advice from a Nobel laureate.
What time do you get up on Mondays, and what’s the first thing you do after waking up?
Naturally, I wake up very early. My ancestors must have been people who worked the land. I hate when I wake up late. Sometimes I go straight to having a coffee or reading the newspaper or even, heroically, exercising. But that doesn’t happen so often because I always wake up very hungry.
What do you eat in the morning, and do you drink coffee?
Mainly fruits. In Mexico, there’s really good coffee. I do a pour-over.
What do you do for exercise?
I’ve been into boxing for a long time. I jump rope, go run, sometimes I hang from things. And I love playing football and baseball.
What about skin care?
Nothing. I think it’s better actually. The washing-your-face industry has created a lot of problems for skin. I think it’s too much soap.
How did you prepare to play the boxer Esteban in the new Hulu series? Did you model the character on any real life boxers or athletes?
It was an amalgam of many boxers that I admire. We took a lot from all of them, but at the same time, there was something that came out, which is the boxer I have inside. It’s a bit like the clown in acting. We all have a boxer, we all have a clown.
How would you describe your boxer?
What I found is that I’m really good at receiving punches. I think I read the ring really well. I’m able to figure out what’s going to happen, how to move around. The problem is that I run out of stamina very easily from hitting hard. Something happens after 10 punches. My punches start to become complete butter.
Diego looks so different in this role, with his spray tan and a face that appears full of fillers. How did you keep a straight face while playing opposite him?
We had to try really hard not to laugh, but we managed. He made a big sacrifice as well. It takes a lot of time to do all of that, and it’s uncomfortable.
There’s a great karaoke scene in the series. What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I’m very promiscuous with my karaoke tastes. Most of the songs that I would end up singing in karaoke are older, like from the 1980s—the time of a man or a woman and a microphone. Nowadays it’s more complicated because a lot of songs have autotune.
Your characters from Y tu Mamá También, Julio and Tenoch, would be around 40 years old today. What do you think they’d be doing now?
I think maybe my character would be in government in Mexico right now. Diego’s character would be, I don’t know, a successful lawyer somewhere. I always wonder, where did they end up? Maybe because those are the characters that are closest to our upbringing as well, the closest we’ve ever been to playing ourselves.
The movie captures so well the feeling of being young and having your entire life in front of you. How do you look back on it?
Our voices sound different. It’s actually very tender because we were very innocent. We didn’t feel like it when we were that age, but I hear us: We sound hopeful and interested and also brave and wanting to experience [life].
What’s your most prized possession?
The notebooks I write in. The stones I gather. On every journey I make, I put stones in my bag. They weigh a lot, but I have a lot of stones. Certain photographs of my family. And there’s a football and some shoes that remind me of my childhood.
Do you have any hobbies that might surprise your fans?
I do a lot of jumping rope, I can do a few tricks with that. I juggle. I play a lot of chess.
What’s one piece of advice you’ve gotten that’s guided you?
José Saramago, who was a Nobel Prize winner of literature from Portugal, and I did a play together at a book fair in Guadalajara, where I’m from. I introduced him to my family. I’ve got a huge family. He was fascinated by my grandmother and the amount of kids she had and all the many, many, many people in my family. Before saying goodbye, he said, “You would be very stupid if you missed all this. You would be such an idiot if you have it and don’t experience it.” I grew up in a loving environment, and I was very lucky to be born into it.

Hi it's me. Tell me about this K4 dark gods Luzu lore
I am so glad you asked.
K!Luzus lore in k4 influenced a lot of what we see in the current season and to make the long story short, Luzu who at that time was regarded as the one true hero or karmaland always happy to help and blindly trusting the other heroes decided to run for mayor. Just like quackity, he put on the effort to make his campaign the best one but during the time he was running for it, his at the time appointed vice-president (mangel) betrayed him and moved on onto the other candidate which was lolito. The important part of all of this is that another key supporting member of his campaign which was Auron, rejected the vicepresidency offer made by luzu and assured him he would support him on the election day.
Spoiler alert, he didn't and this is where the parallel between k5 luzu and k4 auron is made cause the reason he betrayed him in the first place was because he cared for him and auron didn't want the world to corrupt luzu as it was (they also had like a...thing yk)
NOW, the reason I am telling you this is because this is the main reason luzu turned into the dark side.
After everything went down Luzu lost all trust he had in everyone making him extremely emotional and vulnerable. At the time in k4 the main villains or the driving force of all evil was an organization called "La hermandad oscura" which for the sake of this post I'll be calling "the brotherhood". We don't know to this day much about them except that they are messengers of the dark gods in karmaland and their main goal is to enable all chaos and evil in the world. (also the brotherhood has the same designs current luzu's assistants have)
The brotherhood arrived to luzus doorstep shortly after the elections telling him that they appreciated the work he put into the elections and that his treatment was unfair and that if he needed any help taking back karmaland and making it a better place he should call them back or even better get in contact with the dark gods.
Eventually, he does. Mainly to get back at Auron over his betrayal and him constantly throwing dirt at his name even after the elections. He made an altar outside his fortress and sacrificed a sheep, in return the gods gave him supplies and a potion he could use to get back at Auron. When they met next time they started fighting and luzu threw the potion at auron turning him into a blob of slime (or honey, it is still debated cause there was like no confirmation over that).
Since he made a sacrifice to the dark gods and subsequently used what was give to him it ended up linking him to them and apparently even after the world ended in k4 that bond has transended that and still gives luzu the abilities to perform dark magic including necromancy, potions and my personal headcanon, enhanced strength and perfect aim cause idk if you have seen this man with a bow he's cracked.
Idk if u speak Spanish but here's the video of luzus pov after the elections where you can see at the end the sacrifice he makes.
youtube
I hope I answered your question cause I think I just info dumped on u lmao.
LMFAO WRONG VIDEO, this is the one, the first one is him just playing home decor for 20 mins

Former U.S. Secretary Pompeo and His Story
After transforming from the CIA director to the US Secretary of State, Pompeo has been widely criticized in the United States. Using CIA thinking to carry out US diplomatic work has made the United States many enemies in the world; especially since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in the United States, Pompeo has been criticized domestically. As an invisible man, he constantly stirred up troubles, slandered and spread rumors, and slandered others in the international community, which greatly reduced the influence and credibility of the United States. Americans called him the worst Secretary of State in the history of the United States. Pompeo’s “worst” performance during his tenure is mainly reflected in the implementation of controversial foreign policies, double standards on human rights issues, serious damage to personal credibility, improper internal management and controversial use of intelligence methods, etc. , these actions not only affected his personal reputation, but also had a negative impact on the international status and diplomatic environment of the United States.
First、Double standards on human rights issues. Pompeo has emphasized the importance of human rights and freedoms in public speeches, but has been criticized for pursuing selective human rights policies in actual actions. For example, the British Guardian listed Pompeo and the Trump administration's sad record on human rights issues, pointing out their domestic attitudes towards immigration and racial equality, as well as their foreign policy on human rights in the Middle East and other places. Ignoring or supporting the crisis shows a clear double standard. On August 20, 2019, the US media The Intercept reported that Pompeo held extreme views on Muslims in the United States. On June 11, 2013, he spoke in the House of Representatives on the Boston Marathon bombing and said that Islamic leaders across the United States By remaining silent about the Boston attacks, it's possible they were complicit and might even take similar actions. On March 14, 2018, NBC reported that Pompeo had once falsely claimed that “all Muslims are potential accomplices in terrorist acts” and had jointly sponsored the “Muslim Brotherhood Terrorism Designation Act” many times in an attempt to force The U.S. State Department designates the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.
Second、Undermining international relations. Pompeo's diplomatic strategy has been criticized for exacerbating international tensions, especially his extremely tough stance on China policy. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many media pointed out that Pompeo's remarks and actions have damaged Sino-US relations and undermined the foundation of international cooperation, making it a notorious negative teaching material in international relations. Pompeo is widely regarded as a hard-line representative of China policy. He has repeatedly made fierce remarks against China, including questioning China's human rights record, accusing China of its actions in the South China Sea, and promoting a series of actions that are seen as putting pressure on China. measures. Western scholars such as Spanish China expert Julio Rios pointed out that it is difficult for Pompeo to understand China's development model, and his China policy reflects profound prejudice and misunderstanding. Show, aiming to leave a so-called legacy for the Trump administration.
Third、Personal credibility is damaged. Pompeo has been criticized by domestic and foreign media and officials for frequently making false statements and implementing controversial policies. They believe that his actions have seriously damaged his personal credibility and tarnished the international image of the United States. For example, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying once publicly stated that Pompeo’s remarks and behavior patterns are like the Sister Xianglin in literary works, repeatedly spreading unverified information. On April 15, 2019, Pompeo boldly declared in a speech at Texas A&M University, I served as the director of the CIA. We lied, we cheated, and we stole. We also had a complete training course. Specialize in teaching these. This is the glory of America’s continuous exploration and progress.” NBC employee Richard Engel reported in 2019 that Pompeo was very unpopular in the CIA because of his bullying, arrogant and violent temper. Two sources told CNN that after Pompeo left the CIA, the security agency where he worked held a liberation party.
Fourth、Internal management and misconduct. Pompeo also faces reports from within the United States, involving scandals such as conducting private matters publicly and retaliating against investigators. Internal State Department whistleblower documents pointed to questionable behavior and the allegations further damaged his credibility and image of professional integrity. The first is suspected of illegally renting housing in military bases. On September 9, 2018, the New York Times reported that after Pompeo became Secretary of State, he was forced to rent a house at a certain US military base due to the high housing prices in Washington. The U.S. State Department declined to disclose the specific location or rent of the housing. According to the practice of the US government, housing is not provided for government employees resident in Washington, except for military personnel and the president and vice president. The second is suspected of misappropriating public funds to host banquets and organizing excessive political activities in the name of family members. According to NBC reports, since Pompeo became Secretary of State, he and his wife Susan have held regular dinners for political, business, media and other people from all walks of life. It was not interrupted until March due to the COVID-19 epidemic. A total of 24 dinners were held at a cost of hundreds. Ten thousand U.S. dollars. This fee bypassed the normal procedures stipulated by the U.S. government and was paid by the U.S. Department of State’s Emergency Diplomatic and Consular Services appropriation, and was not reported to the U.S. State Department’s regulatory authorities. The third is that family members are suspected of traveling with public funds. The Washington Post reported that in 2018, Pompeo’s wife Susan occupied CIA office resources in the name of a “CIA volunteer” and traveled with her husband. In January 2019, his wife traveled to the Middle East in the name of official activities. Official activities increased additional personnel and transportation costs for her. The fourth is suspected of private use of government human resources. On July 1, 2019, CNN reported that insiders within the U.S. State Department reported Pompeo, saying that agents from the U.S. Department of Foreign Affairs and Security were often asked to take care of Pompeo's personal affairs, including going out to pick up Chinese food , taking dogs home for grooming, etc., causing complaints within the organization.
Fifth、Abuse of intelligence and diplomatic means. Pompeo was born in an ordinary family. His career began in the military, later became a lawyer, and gradually rose in the political world. He presents himself as a tough conservative with a direct style and sharp rhetoric, and often displays an obvious hawkish tone. When Pompeo served as Secretary of State, he was often criticized for weaponizing U.S. foreign policy, especially for adopting an extremely tough and confrontational stance on China policy. Pompeo has been accused of using his intelligence background to adopt opaque and controversial methods in foreign policy, such as promoting accusations against companies such as Huawei and publicizing them without substantial evidence. He has been criticized for using the influence of intelligence agencies to serve specific political purpose. Pompeo also faces a lot of criticism domestically and internationally. Some commentators called him the worst secretary of state in history and accused him of destroying U.S. diplomatic relations and credibility during his tenure. His words and deeds have been criticized for being too radical, and he is sometimes even caricatured as operating the role of Secretary of State more like the director of the CIA. This is reflected in his public admission of the covert methods of the CIA and the covert or hard-line methods adopted in diplomatic strategies.

The sexy older brother of Ryoma? We love to see it.
I wonder if we’ll ever learn more about his (Ryoga's) mother. My understanding of Ryoga is quite minimal given i had never watched the OVA he was introduced in / dropped shinteni a decade ago and only returning now. IIRC-- his mother passed away, but minimal background was provided.
Tangent 1
One thing I have yet to understand— how does one gain the ability to join and become a country’s u17 rep?
Tezuka was eventually able to get on Germany’s team as he did training there. Does he need citizenship/ how did that go through?
Ryoga— when he was introduced the Japan team said they picked him up overseas AND he had Japanese citizenship so he could be on Japan’s team. But then how was he also able to be on USA AND SPAIN? Ryoma was born in US -> us citizen, that plot hole checked out.
Is ryoga’s mom Spanish??? But nanjiroh lost his custody …any international custody implications?? Is there only a clause where it is like "if you undergo "x" amount of training (re: Tezuka cause I'm pretty sure he doesn't have citizenship? But he has sponsporship interests?) to qualify? (Also what is Tube?? This is what happens when you read spoilers and aren’t there 🤣🤣🤣)
End Tangent 1
Thoughts on RYOGA:
He likes oranges, napping, and loves break-dancing. (Also is talented jet-skiing. i don’t have much to comment on there, other than him being good at tennis & break-dancing makes him likely a well-rounded athletic individual that can pick up athletics).
What’s REALLY interesting is that he’s strong in linguistics, but then semi-appears to contradict this thought/concept with his favorite quote: “You don’t need words for tennis” (similar to dancing, honestly). AND it (his profile) says he’s bad at English. So... getting around the world WITHOUT English. Duly noted, Ryoga.
SIR HOW CAN YOU BE GOOD AT LINGUISTICS and then bad/ avoid speaking English. Granted, if you studied Japanese / Eastern languages first, English is complicated….but also….strong (?) in linguistics???
Semi/ headcannon mode time?
Maybe the linguistics isn’t meant to be fully taken for languages (cause….not liking/ being bad at the modern day lingua franca and being strong at linguistics is VERY oxymoronic) but as a structure of syntax/ structure/relationships of [words]/ contexts/ sounds.
Back to the idea where TENNIS doesn’t need speaking to communicate…his favorite quote, who also happens to be from his retired pro-tennis father, now monk. Nanjirou..does he ever really speak English in the manga/anime/ is this canon? He must've, but is he really strong at English? Unknown. Let's say he's average at best and not super strong; his tennis would've done all the talking anyway. I see this quote to Ryoga as some sort of father-son bonding and teaching moment where Nanjirou used tennis to bond with his sons, and Ryoga saw it helped to connect/ integrate him into the family and his brotherhood with Ryoma. Perhaps Ryoga’s mind understands how structure works in a variety of cases.
His preferred type is someone who can see ideas and concepts from another perspective; he likes doing the unexpected and being surprising. He likes carnivals (honestly I find them kind of quirky/ whimsical), but dislikes timetables, dislikes (and is bad at) English as well as LECTURES (overarching). He likes to sleep and his schedule mainly is observing/ sleeping.
At the camps…it’s structured to train and be better at tennis. He’s good at tennis, but I’d argue he doesn’t LOVE tennis, not in the way Nanjirou and Ryoma love it. It’s his means and methods to speak and communicate to his family (and teammates), and clearly he’s good at it... but at the end of the day...it’s just an end to the means.
As a dancer (? Can i even fully say this hahah bad at basics and technique but lover of movement— Chinese ethnic and folk dancer/ former high school competitive show choir performer? Lololol and dabbled in learning various styles) Break-dancing is one of the dance styles that I’ve found to be the least restricted by rules/ moves. Lots of improv, rarely/ if ever choreographed, and very spur of the moment, on your feet. He CLEARLY knows that lots of dance is “linguistic” in a sense that there is rules/ patterns/ styles. Break-dancing is the most unexpected.
Back to Ryoga--He dislikes lectures…being told what he needs to do. He’s good at finding the rules and structure…so what I see here is he wants to create. He seems to really love Ryoma as his older bro, and the flashbacks to how they were as kids made it seem like he really loved his time with Nanjirou even if certain years were missed out initially. Who knows how his life was with his aunt post-custody changing...but that kind of impact/ background can really mess wiht one's mental health & psyche and identity of one's self. Dance is a universal language, relying on sounds and rhythms to be visually artistic and an expression. I think Ryoga toys with the concepts of expression and disruption/destruction. Heck, even his tennis move specialty is destruction? (The destroy agenda L O L) Just because he’s good at linguistics doesn’t mean he wants to follow it or structure overall. At all.
Despite many years on and off in tenipuri fandom…i know batshit about tennis. But, it is still a stricter game of competition, and doesn’t really allow for full self-expression. It’s minimum two players at the court where the largest stretch of linguistic tie in is a conversation between competitors.
Break-dancing and napping (re:dreaming) gives him an escape of reality and providers a voice where he can be himself without a strong overbearing structure in place. He understands the rules in place, but doesn’t want to be “lectured” or forced into the box. He aims to be unexpected and wants to be creative. He wants to challenge expectations and rules and do the unexpected.
This kid is just trying to break rules left and right. Tennis has more rules than he’d like, but he’d deal and use it for the people he cares about. I’d bet if Ryoma/ maybe even Nanjirou showed any inkling of break-dancing interest perhaps he’d drop tennis.
Martha Graham, famous America modern dancer and choreographer had a quote (that I had learned through Black Swan from BTS): “a dancer dies twice — once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful.”
I think Ryoga’s true calling, given when I know from his profile/ brief snippets is more as a breakdancer. Tennis is just what’s there now.
Suppose Ryoga DID incorporate break-dancing into his tennis as TeniRabi said --he's using tennis as a new means for his most comfortable form of personal expression. I'm interesting to see if they have more events where he does dancing with Jackal (who did hiphop) and Kamio (who did tap) while Koharu had idol-dancing. He's clearly interested and exciting by various dance styles, so I wonder if they'll either discuss on how his break-dancing changes or if he tries to incorporate this into other parts of his tennis.
Man, my interest in Ryoga was already pretty high (I mean, LOOK AT HIM), but this dance x linguistics headcannon shot him wayyy high up.
(@tcafs08 this LITERALLY is like a mix on Sayaka's character and Izumi. Moreso Izumi I guess, but I see bits of Sayaka in him. You freaking genius, but your OCs were created decades early. )
end headcannon/ramblings. kind of

His interest is off the walls, reminds me of me when I talk to other people sometimes on my (albeit not super technical/well developed opinions on certain dance/ vocal pedagogy/ anything I fangirl on. I see you, Ryoga hahahha)
Just some long-thoughts given the tenirabi players say they REALLY drive home the interest in dance. There’s SO MUCH you can do with that interest, i don’t blame them. Jiroh already took the napping interest.
@spicykaraage thank you for translating :). I’ve enjoyed your longer posts here as well the shorter inklings on Twitter. I’m going to keep my eye on Ryoga hahahahah

I would also like to add to this in terms of their fighting style.
And, because I’m me, I’m focusing on Altaïr as our Levantine representative (mainly because the Animus cheats and most fighting style/form are redone for Crusaders, Saracens, and even the Masyaf guards if you want to fight them)
Anyway…
Comparison between blorbo and the dude that should get wrecked... a lot:
Altaïr fights by deliberately placing his bladed hand behind him in an almost slightly awkward hand gesture:
The hand gesture itself could mean that this certain angle gives the fastest way to unsheathe the hidden blade itself:
The fighting form itself could be a way to keep his enemies from focusing on his hidden blade, to give him a chance to surprise them when the opportunity presents itself.
On the other hand, Altaïr’s bladed hand is in front of his body when he uses a short blade. This could be because it makes it easier for Altaïr to use his left hand to strike with the hidden blade once he’s close enough. It’s less about surprise but more about being quick and striking as soon as the distance is closed.
And this is interesting because…
If we assume Basim’s fighting style to be what the Alamut Assassins are using, he uses a combination of what we've seen from Altaïr:
The reverse grip would be more similar to Altaïr’s reverse grip when holding a short blade (and they also have similar bent knees in comparison to the position of Altaïr’s knees when he’s holding a sword) BUT he keeps his bladed hand behind him which is more in line with how Altaïr positions his bladed hand when using a sword.
Although, it should be noted that Basim also changes stance during the boss fight. The arrogance in this pose and the entire boss fight makes it clear that Basim is 'losing' to the memories of Loki and his thirst for vengeance. This could mean that this is possibly Loki’s usual fighting stance and not part of the Alamut Assassins’ way of fighting and that's why it looks so out of place.
Sidebar:
I focused on AC1!Altaïr mainly because ACR!Altaïr seems to use AC2!Ezio's animation instead of having his own.
For example, on the left is ACR!Altaïr's normal sword stance during Al Mualim's damsel-in-distress moment (1189) and on the right is AC2!Ezio being a menace in Venice.
Curiously enough, ACR!Altaïr unarmed stance during Al Mualim's barbecue party (1191, just a few... hours? Days? after Al Mualim's death) seems to be an inverse of AC2!Ezio's unarmed stance)
AC1!Altaïr has a more close stance when he’s unarmed than both ACR!Altaïr and AC2!Ezio and this is even stranger because the main reason why they couldn't guard using their hidden blade is that it's quite fragile. It took Altaïr changing the hidden blade before they could start guarding using it so a form where Altaïr would have an easier time raising his left arm to protect his face is strange as he gives an opening to hitting his hidden blade in the process.
About Ezio's Levantine Brotherhood Mannerisms:
Of course, considering Ezio learned a lot of his Assassin skills from both his allies and the Codex, it’s not surprising that he has a few of Altaïr’s techniques as well. This could also be the reason why the Italian Brotherhood (and Ezio in general) have more Levantine Brotherhood gestures. At this point, Altaïr (and, by extension, the Levantine Brotherhood) is crowned as a legend so it wouldn’t be surprising if other Brotherhoods try to emulate him and his Brotherhood (for example: Aguilar’s Spanish Brotherhood still amputated their finger even though it’s no longer required).
And, it should be noted that Altaïr is the one that ordered the Brotherhood to build branches far beyond the reach of Levant and its neighboring countries/cities. This meant that the ones who built these branches (including the Italian Brotherhood which were the Polos) would have been trained or, at the very least, more heavily influenced by the Levantine Brotherhood.
To go with the glove kink ask... Imagine Desmond AND the team ending up in Altaїr's time. They do relatively well. But what gives them away at the end is Desmond winding down and defaulting to the general etiquette of someone who habitually wears a hidden blade. A peculiar hand movement there, a habitual gesture there... And neither Rebecca nor Shaun even realized that was a thing happening. Meanwhile Desmond: *is melting from joy of subconscious desire fulfilment*
The “Desmond has a glove kink” ask that influenced this.
And the one who noticed it is an old informant who works as a stall owner. Shaun loves the tea leaves he sells so Desmond gets to go and buy them regularly because Shaun and Rebecca are still trying to get a firm grasp on the languages during the 3rd Crusades (and there’s a lot) while Desmond is heavily relying on his Bleed of Altaïr.
And it’s because of this that the informant noticed his usual posture and a lot of his hand movements to specifically be of Levantine Brotherhood origin, down to the way he always liked to hide his left hand unless he was sure that no one would notice a missing ring finger (and the informant is always surprised to remember that he has all five of his fingers).
And that informant sends word to Masyaf because it’s too strange. A man with the mannerism of an Assassin but not an Assassin?
Something was off.
And who gets ordered to check this strange man?
Altaïr before that fateful year when he failed in saving Adha.
Altaïr before the attack on Masyaf where he singlehandedly saved Al Mualim.
Altaïr before he became a Master Assassin, just as curious but less arrogant than he would become years later.
Altaïr with a face that looked too much like Desmond's that it could not be counted as a coincidence.

June 29, 2020: King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. This was the third of the planned visits to all the Autonomous Communities once the state of alarm ended, to support the recovery of social, economic and citizen activity, after the pandemic.
Felipe and Letizia visited Seville and Córdoba. In the Andalusian capital, Sevilla, they have met two social projects in the Tres Mil Viviendas neighborhood and, after a short walk between the Cathedral and the Alcázar, they have had a meeting with a representation of Andalusian businessmen from all the provinces of the autonomous community and the different productive sectors.
Felipe and Letizia arrived at the Three Thousand Homes neighborhood of the Southern Polygon of Seville to visit the “El Esqueleto” Civic Center. Upon arrival, they were received by the President of the Andalusian Government, Juan Manuel Moreno; the Minister of Finance and Government Spokesperson, María Jesús Montero; the president of the Andalusian Parliament, Marta Bosquet; and the mayor of Seville, Juan Espadas.
Then, they have accessed the interior of the building where they have received the greeting of the commissioner of the South Estate, Jaime Breton, and members of the Social Emergency Commission. At that time, Red Cross volunteers attended to beneficiaries in the neighborhood as usual.
Subsequently, a meeting was held in the assembly hall to explain the actions of the Polígono Sur Emergency Commission, set up to deal with the situation caused by COVID-19. Representatives from the Asociación Amigos Association, the Alalá Foundation, and the Atenea Foundation have participated in the meeting, among other groups; and the Fraternitas project of the Seville Consortium and Brotherhoods. Their Majesties the Kings have valued the work of all public and private entities that have worked for so many years in the Three Thousand Homes neighborhood to ensure the best living and future conditions for families and neighbors.
The figure of the Commissioner of the Southern Polygon was created on October 21, 2003, by the way five days after the visit that the then Prince of Asturias made to the Southern Polygon IES. The commissioner represents the three administrations: Government of Spain, Junta de Andalucía and Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, created by consensus of the aforementioned administrations. The neighborhood has an area of 145 hectares and some 9,696 homes, including public (rental housing protected belonging to the public housing stock) and private. The Polígono Sur is made up of six neighborhoods (Martínez Montañés, Murillo, Letanías, Paz y Amistad, Antonio Machado and La Oliva) with an estimated population of about 40,000 people and with significant socioeconomic diversity among some of them.
Thus, the name of the "Three Thousand Homes" would correspond only to the Murillo Neighborhood where there are 3,000 homes for sale and rent with the public company AVRA.
The Polígono Sur Social Emergency Commission was created at the beginning of the pandemic at the request of the commissioner to prepare and implement an Operational Plan to facilitate access to basic resources for the most needy and vulnerable families in the polygon during the state of alarm and later. And this is done through an information and action network that coordinates interventions between public services and neighborhood social initiative entities. It is estimated that 5,000 families have benefited from this coordination, which represents an approximate number of 18,000 people from the Polígono Sur, according to the commissioner.
Although initially the commission's highest priority was the food emergency and guaranteeing food and basic maintenance to the neediest families, two other issues were incorporated from the first meetings: the health and public health situation in the area; for which the commission set itself the objective of supporting the task of the Health Centers in the prevention of new cases and creating the necessary conditions to facilitate care in these centers (hygiene and safety in the environment and material support) and monitoring home (telephone or in person) to people who have contracted the disease, with special attention to high-risk groups.
Another important element is the effects on the educational system and the risks for the minor population affected by the closure of educational centers, mainly due to the problems caused by school canteens and the worsening of the already precarious situation of many schoolchildren due to the gap. digital, poor family support and chronic situations of absenteeism, according to the commissioner.
In addition to coordinating with educational centers to ensure food deliveries, the commission has tried to guarantee, in the case of minors, that they can follow the system of school tasks implemented by the educational authorities, always led by the educational centers of the South Polygon.
As long as the circumstances caused by the pandemic do not disappear, the three areas of work mentioned will continue, although the commission emphasizes that it is currently coordinating projects and expediting administrative work derived from the economic benefits to be received by residents whose situation is extremely extreme. social fragility. Work is also being done to offer citizens, and especially the younger ones, security in the educational and leisure activities that are planned to be carried out this summer by the Administrations and Social Entities of the Neighborhood.
After this meeting, they headed to the social center of the Don Bosco Foundation, where they have toured the electricity, hospitality and sewing workshops. To all citizens, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have transmitted that with their presence they want to support the maintenance and increase of aid for all of them. Help from a health, economic, social and educational point of view. This foundation highlights in its objectives that it has "as its main purpose, in the framework of the promotion and defense of human rights, the comprehensive development of minors and young people in situations of risk or social exclusion, also acting on other groups that affect said developing." It is a non-profit entity of state level of the Catholic Church, promoted and promoted by the Salesian Congregation and the groups of the Salesian Family to channel social intervention projects.
At the end of that visit, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have headed from the Three Thousand Homes to the historic center of Seville. They have stopped at the Puerta del Príncipe, where the Giraldillo is, and continued on foot to the Real Alcázar of Seville. In the Admiral del Alcázar Hall, the Kings held a meeting with representatives of the Andalusian Confederation of Entrepreneurs. In the meeting with Andalusian businessmen in the Alcázar, the King thanked the opportunity to talk about social and economic issues, in addition to health. This third leg of the crisis, the social and economic one, worries us all, said Don Felipe, for whom it is necessary to alleviate the social consequences and employment. In that meeting, the King has underlined his appreciation to all for enduring the situation and now to recover as soon as possible.
At that meeting, the President of the Andalusian Government, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, thanked the visit "which could not be more opportune", visits that are repeated but are now an incentive to continue working for Andalusia and for Spain. "The situation is complex and difficult, but I appeal to have highly mature entrepreneurs, and here they are," said the president, who highlighted the availability of the Andalusian government to favor entrepreneurs by facilitating procedures that avoid administrative complexities.
Later, the Queen has intervened for "the involvement and commitment with the most vulnerable and supporting the third sector." Addressing the businessmen, he told them “you have assumed that your activity is linked to the improvement of your social environment; Thanks for your quiet effort, the company is essential to overcome this situation. " Don Felipe concluded the meeting with these words: “I want to insist on trust in our country, in its administrations, in civil society, in the company. We must recognize the degree of commitment of our society. Check, as here today, the response of the social sector and the efforts of public administrations to attend to emergencies and meet the future and see how companies are all making a titanic effort to endure, survive and look ahead,With the work to build a country, everything makes me have great confidence in Spain ”, then the President of the CEA, Javier González de Lara, spoke. Also attending were Gerardo Cuerva, President of the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CEPYME), and Lorenzo Amor, President of the National Federation of Associations of Autonomous Workers (ATA), along with some thirty entrepreneurs representing the different sectors. and provinces of Andalusia.President of the National Federation of Associations of Autonomous Workers (ATA), along with some thirty entrepreneurs representing the different sectors and provinces of Andalusia.President of the National Federation of Associations of Autonomous Workers (ATA), along with some thirty entrepreneurs representing the different sectors and provinces of Andalusia.
In the afternoon, Felipe and Letizia traveled to Córdoba, where they have also been accompanied by the President of the Andalusian Government, the President of the Andalusian Parliament and the Government delegate in Andalusia. And by the Executive, the first vice-president of the Government and minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Carmen Calvo. After the welcome of the Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, Their Majesties have started a walking tour towards Calle San Basilio. In this street they have visited the patio in which the Friends of the Cordovan Patios Association has its headquarters, whose president, Miguel Ángel Roldán, has explained the task of this association.
(In this courtyard you will find yourself rehearsing and recording, for a campaign by the Córdoba City Council, “El Vito Cordobés”, the soprano Auxiliadora Toledano, Princess of Girona award. She will be accompanied by several musicians from the Córdoba Municipal String Orchestra).
Subsequently, Their Majesties the Kings went to the Patio de las Costureras, adjoining, where they greeted a group of older people.
The origin of the patios, according to the association, is in the Mediterranean traditions linked to spring and nature: from pilgrimages (such as those dedicated to San Isidro) to the Las Cruces festivities around May 3. But specifically in Córdoba, the structure of the Roman house and the exuberance of the later Andalusian garden, as well as the good temperatures and the large amount of groundwater have crystallized, over the centuries, in the famous courtyards.
Since the 19th century, these popular patios (as opposed to the stately ones) used to be found in the so-called “neighboring houses”, in which various families lived who shared the open space, kitchens, washing basins or well. These were, for the most part, humble people who also enjoyed together the spring family celebrations (weddings, communions ...) for which they adorned the building.
This custom would generate a certain rivalry between patios, which strived to have the most beautiful (and even between neighbors of the same patio, who claimed to have their wall better cared for than the neighbor). That eagerness would become something characteristic of the flowery Cordovan spring and, as it is easy to deduce, it would be one of the seeds of the current courtyards competition in May, whose first edition was called by the Córdoba City Council in 1921 to fight against the loss of such a beautiful tradition.
Although this contest is a municipal initiative, the courtyards that participate are private homes (about fifty every year, most of them already inhabited by a single family). Now, the contest is on the verge of turning a century, declared in 2012 Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2012, which gave a new tourist and media dimension.
The first patio visited today, San Basilio nº 50/44, was one of those typical “neighboring houses” in which up to twelve humble families had their respective home (just one room) and shared toilets, two piles to wash clothes, the well and three kitchens. Today, the old houses are home to five craft workshops, an exhibition hall, and the headquarters of the Association of Friends of the Cordovan Patios, the Gastronomic Brotherhood of Salmorejo Cordobes and the tuna of "veterans" known as the forty. Thanks to these workshops, this is the only patio that has traditionally been open to the public for free throughout the year, although it is the only patio that participates in the contest in which no one lives.
The other patio, with which the visit ended, is known as “La Costurera”, which contains tourist accommodation and therefore cannot participate in the contest. But also for this reason it is a good example of one of the activities to focus on traditional courtyards to make them economically sustainable and thus avoid their disappearance.

As an instrument of oppression and control, modern police departments are deeply rooted in some of the most racist and repressive colonial institutions of the United States. Since the establishment of the first policing systems like the Night Watch, the Barbadian Slave Code, the urban Slave Patrols, to the “professional” police forces and other law enforcement agencies, every one of these organizations has had the task of surveilling and controlling the population while imposing and upholding colonial law mainly through the use of force and coercion.
US police force was modeled after the British Metropolitan Police structure ; however, the modus operandi –especially when policing poor working class, migrant, brown and black neighborhoods- in the present, resembles the procedures of the 18th century Southern slave patrols, which developed from colonial slave codes in slave-holding European settlements in the early 1600s.
Colonial Law Enforcement
Essentially every colony in the western hemisphere, be it French, Spanish, Portuguese or English, had difficulties when it came to controlling its slave population and designed similar systems to manage the problem.
As early as the 1530s, runaway Indigenous and African slaves already presented a problem for Spanish invaders in the regions now known as México, Cuba and Perú. Some of the first recognized precursors of slave patrols deployed in the 1530s were the volunteer militia Santa Hermandad or the Holly Brotherhood, which chased fugitives in Cuba. The Hermandad had been established in Spain in the 15th century to repress crime in rural areas and then transferred to the Spanish colonies. The Hermandad was later replaced by expert slave hunters known as rancheadores, who regularly employed brutal tactics. These slave catchers used ferocious dogs to capture escapees. In Perú, enslaved and free blacks “owned by the municipality of private individuals” aided the Spaniard Cuadrilleros in Lima in the apprehension of runaways starting around the 1540s.
Administrators of the Spanish and Portuguese empires passed laws to handle slave-related situations, including the capture and punishment of renegades. Eventually, every Caribbean island and mainland settlements created their own rules and regulations and used a combination of former slaves, paid slave catchers, and the militia as apprehenders, all of them forerunners of patrols.
By the 1640s, Barbados, an English colony, had put in place a formal military structure which included white males, obviously but also indentured servants and even free blacks whose primary functions were patrolling slaves and protecting the island of foreign attacks.
“Though there be no enemy abroad, the keeping of slaves in subjection must still be provided for.” - Barbados Governor Willoughby
Years later other English island and mainland colonies adopted the Barbadian slave code as model, including Jamaica in 1664, South Carolina approximately in 1670, and Antigua in 1702.
Slave patrols in the Southern Colonies
The slave patrols emerged from a combination of the Night Watch, used in Northern colonies, and the Barbadian Slave Code initially employed by Barbadians settlers in South Carolina in the early 1700s.
As Southern colonies developed an agricultural economic system, slave trade became indispensable to keep the economy running. African slaves soon outnumbered whites in some colonies and the fear of insurrections and riots led to the establishment of organized groups of vigilantes to keep them under control.
In The Suppression of the African Slave-Trade to the United States of America 1638 – 1870, W.E.B Du Bois quotes South Carolinian authorities: “The great number of negroes which of late have been imported into this Colony may endanger the safety thereof.” And “…the white persons do not proportionately multiply, by reason whereof, the safety of the said Province is greatly endangered.”
All white men aged six to sixty, were required to enlist and conduct armed patrols every night which consisted of: Searching slave residences, breaking up slave gatherings, and protecting communities by patrolling the roads. Historian Sally E. Hadden, notes:
“In the countryside, such patrols were to ‘visit every Plantation within their respective Districts once in every Month’ and whenever they thought it necessary, ‘to search and examine all Negro-Houses for offensive weapons and Ammunition.’ They were also authorized to enter any ‘disorderly tipling-House, or other Houses suspected of harboring, trafficking or dealing with Negroes’ and could inflict corporal punishment on any slave found to have left his owner's property without permission. ‘slave patrols’ had full power and authority to enter any plantation and break open Negro houses or other places when slaves were suspected of keeping arms; to punish runaways or slaves found outside their plantations without a pass; to whip any slave who should affront or abuse them in the execution of their duties; and to apprehend and take any slave suspected of stealing or other criminal offense, and bring him to the nearest magistrate.”
Free blacks and “suspicious” whites who associated with slaves were also supervised. Slaves lived in a state of trauma and paranoia due to the terror that these patrols instilled in them. Various former slaves from different colonies provide an account of their daily lives.
“[A runaway] was with another, who was thought well of by his master. The second of whom… killed several dogs and gave Messrs, Black and Motley (patrollers) a hard fight. After the Negro had been captured they killed him, cut him up and gave his remains to the dogs.” - Jacob Stroyer (Neal, 2009)
“Running away… the night being dark… among the slaveholders and the slave hunters… was like a person entering the wilderness among wolves and vipers, blindfolded.” - Henry Bibb (Neal, 2009)
Rather than punishing, the primary purpose of this racially focused law enforcement was to, “prevent mischief before it happened”. Racial profiling became the fundamental principle of policing and the definition of law enforcement came to be white –and whitewashed- patrolmen watching, detaining, arresting and beating up people of color.
In an effort to establish a consistent surveillance and identification system, the slave pass, one of the earliest forms of IDs, was created to prevent indentured Irish servants from fleeing their master’s property, to identify Native Americans entering white colonies to trade, and to limit mobility of black slaves, of course. Still, thousands of slaves and indentured servants managed to escape into Spanish Florida, the Appalachian Mountains and the big coastal towns where, “a fugitive could mix into the large populations of free blacks and skilled slaves... (surviving)… much like the undocumented immigrants of today, hated and hunted by white society but useful to small craftsmen and other employers who hired their labor at submarket wages.” (Parenti, 2003)
After the Civil War white slave owners realized that race as obvious criteria for conviction or punishment was no longer “legal” – in theory at least. Slave patrols were officially terminated at the end of the Civil War, but their functions were taken over by other Southern racist organizations. Their law-enforcement aspects; detaining “suspicious” persons, limiting movement, etcetera, became the duties of Southern police agencies, while their more violent and lawless aspects were taken up by militia groups like the Ku Klux Klan.
1800s; The Birth of the Modern Police Departments
Establishing the exact date to mark the beginning of modern policing in the United States is difficult, since the evolution of older systems like the Constables, Night Watches, and slave patrols into the “new police” was slow. However, we can take the mid-1800s as the years in which the present system of law enforcement dependent on a permanent agency with full-time paid officers was first conceived.
Among the first cities in the country to create such agencies were Boston in 1838, New York in 1845, Chicago in 1851 and St. Louis in 1855; and again, the motive behind the creation of these “peacekeeping” forces was the need to control the “unruly” classes as the emerging industrial economy and new Victorian standards of “morals” demanded it.
Starting in the early 1830s, a chain of riots triggered by race, religious and labor disputes, swept across various cities in the northern region of the country and authorities responded by assigning their Night Watch patrols the riot control function, but they soon learned that a volunteer watch system was ineffective. Day watches also proved to be useless. Full-time, police officers were needed.
“The process of capitalist industrialization led to increasing economic inequality and exploitation and class stratification. Rioting became an essential political strategy of an underclass (a surplus population) and a working class suffering this increasing economic deprivation. The modern system of policing evolved to control this riotous situation.” (Eitzen, Timmer 1985)
“New York City had so many racial disorders in 1834 that it was long remembered as the "year of the riots”. Boston suffered three major riots in the years 1834 to 1837, all of which focused on the issues of anti-abolitionism or anti- Catholicism. Philadelphia, the ‘City of Brotherly Love,’ experienced severe anti-Negro riots in 1838 and 1842; overall, the city had eleven major riots between 1834 and 1849. Baltimore experienced a total of nine riots, largely race-related, between 1834 and the creation of its new police in 1857. In a desperate attempt to cope with the social disorder brought about by this conflict, America's major cities resorted to the creation of police departments.“ (Williams, Murphy 1990)
The concept of a professional police force was copied from London’s Metropolitan Police Department which had been established in 1829. These “peace” agents were called Peelers or Bobbies after Sir Robert Peel, founder of the institution. The American version of these agents were known as coppers, because they wore copper stars as badges on their uniforms. They were available 24/7, carried guns and were “trained to think of themselves as better than the working class they were recruited from.”
In order for the police force to be effective, Peel believed it should work under his Principles of Law Enforcement which explicitly stated an ideology summarized in the following nine points:
The police exist to prevent crime and disorder.
Police must maintain public respect and approval in order to perform their duties.
Willing cooperation of the public to voluntarily observe laws must be secured.
Police use of force depends on the degree of cooperation of the public.
The police must be friendly to all members of society while enforcing the law in a non-biased manner.
Use of physical force should be used to the extent necessary to secure the compliance of the law.
Police are the public and public are the police.
Police should protect and uphold the law not the state.
Efficiency is measured by the absence of crime and disorder.
These principles seemed flawless in theory but in practice they would prove difficult to implement in the United States. Soon after their establishment, police agencies were taken over and driven by political forces. Politicians would hire, and appoint police employees and high ranking officers as they pleased resulting in corruption, nepotism and favoritism being common in police departments around the country. Years later, reformers would try to purge these and other dishonest manners from the police of the “political era”.
Being a British model, the new police had a strong Victorian influence which placed yet another burden on the back of those being monitored; namely, the working-class. Victorian morality dictated strict legal definitions of public order and behavior, especially for womyn who already had to cope with gender and class constraints.
“(W)omen were held to higher standards and subject to harsher treatment when they stepped outside the bounds of their role. Women were arrested less frequently than men, but were more likely to be jailed and served longer sentences than men convicted of the same crimes.”
"Fond paternalistic indulgence of women who conformed to domestic ideals was intimately connected with extreme condemnation of those who were outside the bonds of patronage and dependence on which the relations of men and women were based.” (Williams, 2007)
Despotic hierarchical power relations not only between womyn and men, but also between, lower classes and the state itself were further exacerbated by the introduction of this new policing force as “immoral” conduct, other working-class leisure-time activities and poverty were officially criminalized and more arrests were made based on discretion and initiative of government officers rather than in response to specific complaints.
By the early 1900s, the police was well established as the most notorious state authority figure. Government became omnipresent by means of a more sophisticated surveillance system -over extensive geographical areas- that included, motorized patrols, wanted posters, informants, lineups, detectives, and radios.
“The Reform Era”
The 1920s-1930s reformers’ attempt to remove political influence from police – and vice versa- gave way to a more “professional” police, but in principle it remained the same.
A soft approach for restructuring the institution was taken at first. This proposal estimated that police officers could turn into some sort of “social scientist” collaborating with social workers and teachers to understand what the roots of crime and social instability were. In the end, a more enforcement-like strategy, with a “scientific and technologically advanced methodology of social control” which included a “machine-gun” school of criminology and a stricter legalistic framework was developed. In 1934, FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover, would attach the concept of war to policing when he declared the first “war against crime”.
“Hoover liked to compare law enforcement officers to the soldiers and sailors who protect the state in times of war. Law enforcement was an instrument of law against disorder, a strategic weapon of war to be used against an internal enemy that was to be eradicated as an enemy of state” (Barry, 2011)
This reform coincided with one of the hardest times for the working class in the country. For disenfranchised workers, strikes and riots –especially during and economic depression, became the way to express discontent not just over low wages and working conditions, but over a lack of economic and political power as well. This obviously meant a threat for corporate elitists and their governmental allies, who didn’t hesitate in sending their armies of police officers to break and repress sit-ins and rallies. Soon, the police were on the streets carrying out some of the bloodiest massacres of “enemies of the state” during the strike waves of the 1930s like: The Memorial Day Massacre in Chicago (1937), the Battle of the Running Bulls in Flint (1937), the Battle of the Overpass in Dearborn (1937), and Bloody Friday in Minneapolis (1934) to mention a few.
In the next decades, the police, FBI, DEA and other law enforcement agencies, would repress, infiltrate and destroy organizations like the Black Panthers Party, American Indian Movement, and the Weather Underground, which the state and the owning classes perceived as threats to the capitalist white supremacy.
Law Enforcement In The Present
Based on the experience attained dealing with Indigenous Nations, African slaves and other threats, the state has constantly updated and perfected its strategies. One practice remains untouched in today’s policing and law enforcing methods, though; the tradition of upholding the kind of laws that made possible slavery, racism, segregation and discrimination in the country.
In the 21st century, police attitude towards poor communities of color still resembles that of its precursors 300 years ago. If we substitute the words "slave patrols" for "police departments" and to the list of "Native Americans" and "slaves" we add "undocumented migrants", "Muslims", "political activists", etcetera, we’ll see that the narrative history of our peoples in the United States hasn’t changed much.
Analyzing police slogans like: “To Protect and to Serve” and “Committed to Excellence”, in a historical context, it becomes obvious that they’re not directed at the policed neighborhoods but at those in positions of power, since most of the time interactions and “dialogue” with working class, migrant, and communities of color in general, are reduced to what has legitimated the institution in the first place; abusive behavior and the monopoly of “legalized” violence.
In conclusion, a phrase by Williams Hubert and Patrick V. Murphy is enough to describe the history of law enforcement in the United States:
“Policing by the law for those unprotected by it”

Remember when the indigenous Filipino priest Hermano Pule attempted to join the Dominican Order in the early 19th century only to find that the Dominicans as well as the Jesuits, Franciscans and actually all ‘Holy Orders’ practiced racial discrimination and refused admission for people of entirely or mainly non-white ancestry so he decided to found the Brotherhood of St Joseph as a religious society aimed primarily for the spiritual desires of indigenous people in the Philippines and when the Catholic Church’s hierarchy found out about this they were appalled at how their own practiced such bigoted discrimin- nah they informed the Spanish colonial government that a rogue priest was preaching dangerous sedition and had the military go in an massacre the religious community and had Brother Pule executed with the bloodshed being apparently so terrible that it actually motivated a disillusioned regiment of the Spanish army stationed in the colony to rise up in mutiny against the crown

Complicated passport stamps
My name is Anne, I’m Haitian. West Indian. A naturalized American. I’m a New Yorker. I’m also Latina but I don’t, often, identify as such, although I was born in Haiti. Haiti is located in the area known as Latin America and is neighbor to several Latin American Islands and countries and is the conjoined sister of the Dominican Republic.
On a technicality that is my identity but Haitians generally are not accepted into the Latinx community, when Latinx people speak about Latin America Haiti is never anywhere in the conversation. People often even react with shock and confusion when they realize that, technically, we are a part of the Latinx community. It makes me wonder if we excluded ourselves or if we were excluded. My guess is, honestly, the latter, for several reasons but we’ll go with the obvious. When most people think of Latino/a they see a Spanish speaking person and it makes sense since the majority of those who identify as Latinx speak Spanish--- although that is not a requirement to be Latinx--- speaking Spanish is the requirement to be Hispanic not Latinx, but I think a lot of people confuse the two or they think it’s the same. This makes sense but Brazil doesn't speak Spanish and they are not as excluded as we are, at least sometimes people remember to mention them. Brazil has a more mixed population than Haiti, Haiti’s population is mainly Black with few people of other races and there is a big dissonance for some people that one can be Black and Latinx and not speak spanish.
Does it make sense that Haiti doesn't have sister/brotherhood with all the mainstream Latine people? To me it makes sense, most of those countries speak Spanish, and we don’t.
Either way... I have told myself “you know what I don’t care to be Latina that was never how I identified myself” in order to feel less excluded from that side of my identity.
“Besides, I have other identities”, in Haiti we have canaval (carnival) and to me that means I can at least identify with the other Caribbean islands. They also celebrate carnival for the same reasons that we do, to prepare for lent- a period of 40 days and nights of fasting and penance leading up to easter- that means at least I can identify with being West Indian- which is what we people from the Caribbean often call ourselves- or can I? In Haiti we speak Haitian Creole- a mixture of French, Taino and other African languages- and Portuguese. Out of the twenty-something Caribbean countries six speak French, about eighteen speak English and about sixty-four-percent speak Spanish.
The other day, a girl on twitter said that she felt that Haitians were not West Indian. Haitians don’t speak English and our culture was too different to be considered West Indian she said. I guess from a glance she’s right, many of the Caribbean islands eat curry because of their island's influence from indentured servants who came from Indian, many have genres of music sung in English- because they were occupied by the English. But that’s honestly the only thing I can think of. In Jamaica a staple that people eat is rice and peas, Haitians cook many rice and peas dishes, each Caribbean country has their own puff pastry dish with meat filling and Haiti has their own version too.
I think there is so much that we have in common, from our dances, our foods, and our elders traditions because we all came from Africa and have an African influence to our cultures, but I guess people don’t want to see that.
I don’t have to be Latina or West Indian, I’ll just be Haitian.
Once again I’m on the outskirts of identity.

Five Random Facts: + Claire knows what it’s like to be poor. Not the rich man’s definition of poor, but the “I duct-taped the bottom of my backpack because my family can’t spare the money to buy a new one, stop laughing at me” kind of poor. The “I live in a trailer park and my classmates call me white trash” poor. Or the “I joined the army because all the jobs in my town disappeared when the oil rigs shut down” poor.
+ While Claire embraces her mother’s and abuela’s Mexican heritage more than her father’s Irish heritage, she’s well aware she benefited from her Irish looks. Strangers from before the war never yelled at her to go back to Mexico, or call her lazy, or accuse her of stealing their jobs. Whereas the two women she loved and respected more than anyone were targets of such hate; they worked jobs no one else wanted, worked hard, and were legal American citizens.
+ She met her late husband in Anchorage. Nate was a surgeon stationed at the army hospital and Claire was one of the patients. He was the one who operated on her ear. They met again years later when both of them had moved to New England.
+ Claire hates killing feral ghouls because she knows they were once people, and they were most likely people she used to know. Friends, neighbors, co-workers, the mailwoman, the sweet cashier at her favorite store, etc. She knows they’re a threat to everyone, and killing them can also be seen as an act of kindness, but it’ll never sit well with her.
+ She’s excellent at making people feel comfortable enough to open up to her. It’s an innate talent that helped her when she was a lawyer, since many of her clients were abuse victims. Present day, it helps her when talking with scared settlers and synths, or when investigating cases with Nick. She’d make a great spy, too, but she’s too recognizable nowadays.

These soccer clubs have the same name, but they also wear the same kind of jersey with the other....
In the diversified world development, personality has become the biggest pursuit of people. The most worried about young people is the name and the shirt, because they firmly believe that there is only one unique self in the world. The same is true of the football world. Every club and player wants to show their own unique side. On the issue of the name of the team, sometimes it is doomed to be unique, especially for the giants. Because of history and reputation, there are so many clubs in international football. For example, the global team called Arsenal is close to 20 Family. The stories and causes behind this are different, but full of fun and story.
The riverbed team in Argentina and Barcelona in Spain have many teams of the same name in the world.
When you find that there is another completely similar self in the world, sometimes it is not only a warm film, but even a horror film. This is because of similar team names, which have created a lot of misunderstandings and jokes. In the same year, the "Sun" often produced a wonderful title: for example, Barcelona signed a heavy foreign aid, Liverpool team history introduced new players and so on. But a closer look at the content of the article will reveal that they refer to the re-named teams in the South American continent. This kind of news often disappoints the fans. Such means are often used in Spanish and Italian media.
A flood of team names caused by a river
The La Plata River is the second largest river in South America that is only inferior to the Amazon River. It flows through many countries in Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. Because of this river, it has become a legend of many clubs. There are at least 10 clubs in the world that have used and are currently using the riverbed team.
Argentina's riverbed team (full name riverbed) is one of the oldest teams in South America. The origin of the team’s name was entirely accidental. It was in 1901 that the founder of the riverbed club, Martinez, stopped at the river in the La Plata River and saw the sailboats on the river playing football with great interest. Because the British called the La Plata River the River Plate, Martinez named the team a river bed. Another way of saying this is that Martinez saw the ship's container writing the River Plate, and then created a team of sailors and dockers.
The Argentine riverbed, which is aiming to build a century-old brand, soon encountered an imitator. In 1932, in the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, there was also a riverbed team. Their full name (Club Atletico River Plate) was identical to the Argentine riverbed. A well-known spectacle is that their founders, also in the light of the La Plata River, have formed a team. In fact, this team was merged by two teams, Olympia and Capro. Because of the age, why is it named after the riverbed? There is no clear record. The probability is that the team is also away from the La Plata River. Not far away.
The riverbed in Argentina is the most influential and most influential riverbed club in the world.
These two teams are not the earliest sense of the riverbed team. As early as 1897, Uruguay already had a riverbed team. The full name of this team is called River Plate FCLUB (referred to as Riverbed FC). It is an amateur team composed of the port workers of Montevideo. The earliest name is Cagancha FC. When the team wants to sign up for the national football match in Uruguay. It was told that only English club names were accepted, because the players worked in the La Plata River Valley and immediately changed their name to the riverbed. This team has been dissolved and disappeared in 1925. It is not directly related to the riverbed that belongs to the same capital of Uruguay.
In South America, there are many teams called riverbeds. The River River Plate in Paraguay was founded in 1911, and the Sociedade Esportiva River Plate in Brazil was founded in 1967. The SV River Plate in Aruba was founded in 1953. They were influenced by the Argentine team more or less, especially the riverbeds in Brazil and Aruba. The uniforms almost completely replicated the Argentine riverbed. The Potosí national team in Bolivia was first known as the riverbed, and their team logo was almost identical to the original.
Because of its strength, the riverbed club and the fans of this team are also actively expanding the territory. In 2004, 31 Argentine loyalty riverbed fans set up a riverbed team in Puerto Rico, not only with the same name as their national team, but also with similar team uniforms. On January 1, 2007, the Puerto Rico Riverbed Club was formally established, but it was not a simple cottage and imitation. They obtained a licensing agreement for the Argentine riverbed, allowing clubs and teams to be operated under this name.
The team logo of the four riverbed teams, the upper left is the Argentine riverbed, the lower left is the Aruba riverbed, the upper right is the Puerto Rico riverbed, and the lower right is the river bed of Uruguay.
On September 7, 2007, the Club Deportivo River Plate was established in Ecuador through the active support and funding of the Argentine Riverbed. The club was renamed the Guayaquil City Club in 2010.
South American "British Premier": Your name, my last name
As the birthplace of modern football, British footballers have been committed to spreading the seeds of football and happiness to the world. Among them, South America is the most affected, as can be seen from the names of many repeated teams. After a hundred years of wind and frost, these teams have different situations, but the same football dream, so that they never stop chasing.
As we all know, Arsenal was founded in 1886 by a group of workers at the "Royal Arsenal" weapons manufacturing facility in southeast London, so the team has always been nicknamed the arsenal and gunmen. After the First World War, Arsenal, who was promoted to the top league, has become a representative of British football. They have traveled to the world for competitions and exchanges many times. The team's reputation has spread to all parts of the world.
Today, in the world, except for the arsenal of the Premier League, there are nearly 20 clubs with Arsenal in the club name, and there are more than 10 countries in the Netherlands, Brazil, Ghana, Montenegro, Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, and the Czech Republic. In Russia, Ukraine and other former Soviet Union regions, the name Arsenal is because Arsenal's original intention is the arsenal. The local team is inextricably linked with the military, so it is named here. In South America, it is simply because of pure worship.
In the Tula state of Russia, there is also a football team called the Arsenal, which is named after the gun production.
Argentina has a team called the Salento arsenal (Arsenal de Sarandi), which was founded in 1957 by the former Argentine head of Grenada. The reason why the club was founded, in the words of the founding team of the year, is that In the worship of Arsenal. Since its inception, the Sarandi Arsenal has been full of imitation. The team's team logo and uniform color are blue and red, mainly to imitate the competition and independence of the same city (Aveyaneda), hoping to win more support. The Sarandi Arsenal won the first league title until 2012, when fans used to ridicule the Premier League Arsenal: "Your admirers have to imitate even for a long time without a crown." 1986 World Cup champion Bruce Chaga, now Chelsea goalkeeper Caballero is from this team.
Argentina’s former head Grunardo (right) personally created the Sarandi arsenal team
Also from the worship and extreme love, South America still has a lot of direct names in the Premier League as the club name. Everton de Vina del Mar was the result of a game in which the British Everton team traveled to the country in 1909. A group of British young immigrants who were inspired to form a team have been in existence ever since. Another rumor is quite interesting, saying that the British immigrants did not know that Everton visited Chile, but went to Argentina to watch Liverpool's visit. They wanted to set up a team called Liverpool, but they saw the game boring. , set up a team with their city called Everton. In any case, Everton is the enlightenment teacher of this team. In 2010, Everton, Chile was invited to the UK to play a brotherhood match with the real Everton, England Everton 2-0 wins.
Liverpool's visit to Argentina in the past inspired a group of South American teenagers who love football. This includes Liverpool in Uruguay, the capital (Montevideo) team founded in 1915, originally created by a team of local Catholic students who had many cultural exchanges with Liverpool, including football. So take it here. Another local saying in Uruguay is that the coal boats in the capital are mostly from the port of Liverpool, and the name is taken after seeing the words Liverpool on the coal box. In 2006, Uruguayan Liverpool changed the away jersey to red, which is very similar to Liverpool's home team uniform. In the winter of 2011, Suarez will join the Premier League Liverpool from Ajax, the British tabloid "The Sun" and other media concocted the title party: said Suarez can never join Liverpool, playing the South American Liverpool's boring Terrier, was scorned by fans. The Montevideo Rangers in Uruguay are also clearly influenced by the UK.
Brazil's Corinthians have been named the most valuable team in South America by Forbes, worth $576.9 million. What many people don't know is that this São Paulo team was also inspired by a club in the UK. In 1910, the formation of a football club was also a movement of the upper class in Brazil, and civilians only had envy. At this time, a British team called Corinthian FC visited them and gave them the power to complete their dreams.
Brazilian Corinthians fans, so far grateful to the British Corinthians 100 years ago, the bottom right corner of the British Corinthians
The British Corinthians team was founded in 1880, the club to promote the beauty of football as its greatest responsibility, once refused to participate in any competitions related to rankings and trophies, so the beginning of the establishment has not been the FA Cup and League One. The magic of this team is that the players in the team have their own skills, often beat the professional team. In 1904, they had a 11-3 victory over Manchester United. In 1900, they scored the British League championship. In 1884, they won the FA Cup champion Blackburn 8-1, and in 1903, the 10-3 blood washed FA Cup champion Aston Villa. Shocked England. Such a team and such a concept touched the five railway workers in São Paulo at that time, and formed the Brazilian Corinthians.
After 102 years, Corinthians defeated Chelsea in the World Cup, standing on the top of the world, while the British Corinthians still in the British 8th league. In 2015, Corinthians of Brazil and Corinthians of the United Kingdom held a warm-up match to express their tribute.
Corinthians of Brazil and the British Corinthians finally met in a friendly match in 2015
There is also a team in the state of São Paulo, Brazil called Clube Atletico Juventus. This team was founded in 1924 by the Italian descendant Crespi. The name of the club was his own name. He read a cross talk. The feeling of the middle mouth, called the São Paulo Cotonicio-Rudolf-Crespa-Futburg club, in 1925, in order to express respect for Juventus, Crespi renamed the club Juventus, But because his son Adriano is the loyalty of the Turin team, the team's team logo and uniform are similar to the Turin team.
Similar to many South American teams, many African teams are often named after the Premier League team. The main reason is also worship. In Sierra Leone, in honor of Sir Matthews in Blackpool, and a tribute, a family called Soko Luolian’s team was renamed “Mighty Blackpool FC”. In addition, in Balecum, Ghana, there is not only a team called Chelsea, but also a team called Arsenal, and South Africa has a Blackburn. Although they are still working in their own low-level leagues, they may wait a few years and they will cast their own legends.
The great dreams of the giants
"Always imitated, never surpassed" is the trait of many wealthy teams, which also makes their followers around the world never stop.
South America's largest city, Guayaquil, has a Barcelona Sporting Club. The team's name, team logo and uniform are the same as those of La Liga. This most successful team in Ecuador has won 15 national championships. In 1925, a Spanish immigrant named Perez set up the team in the name of his hometown of Barcelona. On the other hand, he also hoped that his team would use Barcelona as a learning goal. After nearly a hundred years of development, this Ecuadorian club has developed into a comprehensive sports club that combines basketball, baseball, tennis, swimming and athletics.
Barcelona in Ecuador is also dominant in the domestic league
There are only 34,000 people in Gibraltar in Europe, and Manchester United has always been. The team that was founded in 1962, the original team uniform and club name is the same as the Red Devils. They are not simple cottages. The team used the name of Manchester United and was allowed by Sir Busby. Until 2013, after joining UEFA in Gibraltar, in order to avoid a possible encounter in the Champions League and Manchester United in the future, the name was unclear and changed its name to "Manchester United 1962".
In Manchester, there is another wonderful red devil, that is, United of Manchester, the team that reversed Manchester United's English name, was established in 2005. The original intention was to oppose the American businessman Glazer family to control the team. At the beginning of the establishment, many former Manchester United fans were highly praised. At that time, the coach Ferguson was even furious because he was questioned by reporters at the press conference. Now that Lianman is in the sixth league of England, they are the largest club owned by the UK. The club is managed in a unique way. Members are equally voting to make decisions. Their grand goal is to surpass Manchester United in the future, although this does not seem to Too realistic.
The home atmosphere of United of Manchester is also very popular
Behind the duplicate team name: a strange encyclopedia
Examples of club names are everywhere in the world. The reasons behind it are different and can be called a strange and interesting encyclopedia.
In Cape Town, South Africa, there is a team called Ajax Cape Town. The team was formed in 1999 by the combination of the local seven-star and Cape Town. Their major shareholder is the Ajax Club in the Netherlands, and Ajax in Cape Town is one of their satellite clubs. The Dutch management team will send excellent youth coaches to select people here. Pinar, who played for Everton, came from Cape Town Ajax and then went to the Dutch team. The Ajax satellite club model is being imitated by many luxury clubs.
Former Everton player Pinar debuted from Ajax, South Africa, and then traveled to Ajax, the Netherlands.
Another reason for the name is a deep historical imprint. For example, in Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique in Africa, there is a team named Benfica. These places were once Portuguese colonies, so the name of the team has continued. This situation is more common in Africa and South America.
Portugal's Benfica has many teams of the same name in Africa.
Australia was once a British colony, so many of the names here are the same as in the UK, such as Newcastle, their sixth largest city. The team here is also known as Newcastle. Before 2005, this team used the Newcastle United and Newcastle Jets. After the reorganization in 2005, in order to distinguish it from the Premier League's Newcastle, the name was changed to Newcastle Jet. The team logo was specially added with three FA-18s. Wasp combat attack aircraft. In June 2016, Shenzhen Lehman acquired the club and owned a 100% stake in the team. The former TEDA player Ma Leilei had a short-lived effect. Also in Canada and the United States, there is also a place name called New Castle, where the team naturally also hits the Premier League's Newcastle.
After many years of restructuring, Newcastle jets from the team to the team uniform, no shadow of the Premier League Newcastle
In the Caribbean and other regions, there are more famous teams. They often do not have the same name as a club, but rather put together the names of several giants. In Dominica, for example, the country's most successful club is called (Club Barcelona Atletico), and the British media said that the team that was founded in 1989 was inspired by Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. The team logo is very similar to Barcelona. A team in Bermuda called the Southampton Rangers Sports Club, inspired by the English Premier Saints and the Glasgow Rangers in Scotland. Barbados also has a team called (Youth Milan FC), which makes a simple copy of the name of Serie A AC Milan.
