[ THUMB ]: while cupping the receiver’s cheek in their hand, the sender slowly glides their thumb across their cheekbone in a tender, sweeping caress. From Kaname, to Tatsumi.
Tatsumi had parked the car on an abandoned little parking lot, not too far from the shadow of Mount Fuji. The massive, impressive mountain hid the sky and was quite the remarkable sight... But not as remarkable as the boy in the passenger seat next to him.
Tatsumi had unbuckled himself and twisted his body so that he was facing Kaname properly, and while his hand had come to the boy's thigh, Kaname's hand was on his cheek, petting it tenderly.
"I was thinking..." Tatsumi mumbled while nuzzling against Kaname's hand. "Perhaps we... Ought to tell people about us? At least... Some of them." HiMERU would have his hide for it, he was certain, and he wasn't exactly prepared to tell him just yet, but... He didn't like sneaking around. He wanted to showcase Kaname to the world, loud and proud because Kaname deserved nothing less.

[HiMERU; Tatsumi] [ blood ] sender notices that receiver is bleeding
"I'm sure you're exaggerating. I don't think I was being annoying about Hiiro-san and Aira-san accompanying Koha--" Tatsumi cut himself off, noticing a rather odd look on HiMERU's face.
They were sitting in Café Cinnamon, not because they had agreed to meet up there, but because Tatsumi had spotted HiMERU sitting there by his lonesome, and Tatsumi being Tatsumi... Well, he wanted to say hi! And thus he had struck up a conversation.
And it really felt good to sit down too; he was feeling a bit dizzy. Something he hoped would pass soon enough. Maybe he was simply fatigued... But it hadn't passed, even as he sat down, but he pushed it down, tried to ignore it, tried to ride it out. But something was clearly off, wasn't it? And now HiMERU was looking at him like that.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Tatsumi glanced down, and as he did, a clear, crimson drop fell onto his hand. Then another one, and another, coming dangerously close to hitting his coffee cup. Startled, he brought his hand to his nose.
"Ah... Am I... Am I bleeding?"

+ [ coping ] sender teaches receiver some coping mechanisms (This is perfect for Tatsumi and Mayoi~ 😁💚💜)
Tatsumi poured tea into the two cups standing on the table between his seat and Mayoi, a mildly quizzical look on his face. He supposed he ought to bring forth some snacks as well, but what? Mayoi liked grapes, didn't he? Maybe some fruits would be enough, then. Pleased with the decision, he went to get a bowl filled with grapes, persimmon, apples and two bananas. He put this down on the table as well, before straightening himself up and dusting off his hands.
"Now, what was it you wanted to talk with me about, Mayoi-san? Is it about work?"

[ HOLD ]: as soon as the receiver opens the door and realizes the sender is there, sender wordlessly opens their arms out, and gives the receiver a warm, sorely needed hug. From Kaname, to Tatsumi.
Tatsumi stared at the email, teeth worrying his lower lip. The thing with receiving emails from his father was that it always took him by surprise. Usually, the man was old-fashioned enough to simply send snail mail, which in turn meant that he wasn't expecting an express answer. With emails though, Tatsumi could see the judgmental look in his eyes if Tatsumi didn't hurriedly reply as soon as possible, along with the choice words he might have for him later on. Sloth was a sin, he needed to repent... And all that.
But, may the Lord have mercy, I do not wish to talk with you right now...
He was brought from his thoughts by the knock on the door, and he pushed his chair back, getting to his feet on shaky legs. Ah, he was still a bit exhausted, huh... "I'm coming~!"
He opened the door and found himself face to face with Kaname. Purple eyes widened and he was about to say something along the lines of 'how nice to see you' or 'can I help you', but his words were cut off before they had even left his mouth as he noticed the younger boy opening his arms, inviting him in. A quick glance around, no one was nearby it seemed, and Tatsumi succumbed, allowing himself to more or less stumble into the embrace.
"...What's this...? Um... Hi."

hohoho mayoi kiss for tatsumi MAYBE 8D?
universalcrossover answered:
The very thought of kissing someone like Tatsumi was enough to make Mayoi panic and start breaking a sweat. Comparing himself to his friend, Mayoi was nothing but a mere insect that was shining down on the holy light that is Tatsumi Kazehaya. Guess there really was no way out of this, huh? Better go through with it quick.
“U-Ummm... Tatsumi-san...” The purple-haired man can already feel his lips quivering a lot as he stared at the other. This was only gonna be a quick one, two, three kiss. That’s it.
No longer being able to think of what to say next, Mayoi went for a quick peck on Tatsumi’s cheek and immediately hid his face with his hands, feeling completely ashamed and embarrassed of himself as his face was covered pink with blush.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I-I don’t know why I d-did that at all! Please repent me of my sins, so I don’t have to exist in this world anymoreeeee!”
You might expect Tatsumi to lounge around and read the Holy Scriptures, but he wasn’t the type of devote Christian who had to have the Bible at hand at all times. He did prefer to read it before bed, but right now, his attention was on a trashy little light novel with an easy to follow - but overused and tropey - plot. Next to him stood a steaming cup of hot cocoa and a small tray of slightly spiced sesame crackers.
He looked up in surprise as Mayoi approached him and quickly arranged his features into a welcoming smile. You had to tread careful with Mayoi at times, especially when he seemed extra much on edge, which seemed to apply right now. “Yes, Mayoi-san? Can I help you with anything?”
The reply he got wasn’t one he had expected. Mayoi leaned closer to him and then, quickly, kissed his cheek. Blinking once, twice, Tatsumi’s purple eyes widened and he was stunned silent for a while. Just long enough for Mayoi to start babbling. Whining. Whatever you’d like to call it.
“Shh, don’t say that... What’s the occasion, Mayoi-san? It was very pleasant, but I don’t understand what I might have done to deserve your obvious affection like this...?”

[ inspection ] sender holds receiver's face while inspecting an injury they got. To Tatsumi, from Kaname. FFX AU.
"Are you alright?" There had to be some sort of irony in that, because out of the two, Tatsumi was the one bleeding from the two parallel wounds caused by a fiend's claws on his face. Luckily, they had missed his eyes, but the wound still stretched across his cheek and toward his ear, having nicked a piece of it clean off, a small wedge on the outer shell of his ear that simply wasn't there anymore. The parallel cut ran over his brow and disappeared into his hairline.
Still. Still. Kaname was his Guardian so it was only natural that he worried about him, right? Even when the boy was busying himself with pressing healing herbs against the wounds to try and mop up the worst of the blood.
Tatsumi's heart thundered in his chest.
"...We should be safe in this cave for now, at least..." Oh, how he hoped that was the case.

🌲 Tatsumi -> Mayoi >o>
Mayoi didn't even realize how high up he was in the tree until he finally decided to look down. Really should've never done that... Now, his whole body was trembling and he couldn't move at all. Was Mayoi gonna be stuck up here for the rest of his life? Hopefully, everyone remembers him when he’s gone... It’s alright if they didn’t though.
However, whenever there was darkness, there was always light to shine down on it. As luck would have it, Mayoi happened to spot Tatsumi from down below and he calls out to him.
“T-T-T-T-Tatsumi-saaaaannn... Help meeeeeee!!”
Oh dear, oh dear... He was running just a little bit late, wasn’t he? Physical therapy down at the hospital had taken a bit more time than he would have liked, and then there had been a slight delay in the subway to top things off. That was why Tatsumi was a bit caught up in his own thoughts as he walked past the tree, not noticing Mayoi in his plight at first. Not until the purplehaired boy called out to him at least.
Tatsumi came to a screeching halt and looked around, confused. Where had that voice come from...? It was merely by chance that he looked up and he stared for a moment, taking in what it actually was that he was seeing, before he tutted in concern. “Mayoi-san...! Dear Lord, how did you ever end up in this predicament...? Let me see if I can find a ladder or something, okay? Hold on tight and don’t look down if you can help it, okay?”

Nightmare meme: “ just hold me. “ Tatsumi -> Mayoi~ ♥
universalcrossover answered:
Mayoi stared in silence at Tatsumi after hearing those words, feeling worried about him. He must've had a horrible nightmare if he's the one shaken up instead of Mayoi himself. However, the purple-haired man simply obliged and wrapped his arms softly around Tatsumi's waist.
"I-Is this good enough? I'm sorry it's not really much... I-I'm the one usually having nightmares." Slowly, he started rubbing his friend's back, trying his best to comfort him in his time of need.
Tatsumi could feel how his heart thundered in his chest and how his back was slick with perspiration, and he wanted to tell Mayoi to be careful, because it was totally gross, wasn't it? But before he could collect himself enough to warn him, the purplehaired boy had already hugged him.
"C-careful... I'm gross, heh..." Tatsumi closed his eyes, but the second he did, vivid images from the nightmare returned in full force, an echo of the crude laughter he had heard within the dream booming in his ears. He opened his eyes again and tried to focus on the sensation of Mayoi's arm around him, on Mayoi's hand on his back.
"Oh, yes. It's good enough. Tha-thank you... I... I know. And I'm really, really sorry if I woke you up... If you've managed to have a good night's sleep for once, Mayoi-san..."

Hmm.
He turned his head to study Tatsumi, the so-called caterpillar. He wasn't seen all that often, and he'd heard people questioning his health before. But he seemed perfectly fine to be questioning his judgement.
How annoying.
"I don't need you to pray for me. I haven't even decided if I'm going to do anything yet."
Izumi's gaze moved from Tatsumi to the town across the clearing. It seemed quiet right now, but that wasn't a certainty at the moment.
Tatsumi's health was indeed an issue, and it also caused him to being unable to walk from time to time, which had left him spending a considerable amount of time in an oblong wagon without wheels but with a myriad of little feet that patted forward, all on their own. So far, no one had really dared to ask Tatsumi just how it worked, but it sure brought a caterpillar to mind none the less.
"Ah, but is it not when one thinks himself above the need of prayers that one needs them the most?" The caterpillar leaned forward in his... caterpillar... and smiled serenely at Izumi.
"The Queen would have your head if you harm people who might still be loyal... Not that I would know if these people are royalists or revolutionaries, of course."

Tatsumi's eyes widened and he stopped in his tracks, turning to face the petite young girl. He wracked his brain over for a moment, trying to remember her name. He remembered the name of her idol group well enough, but what was her name again...? It had been quite a while after all, and some details before that incident were a thought fuzzy. It came to him though and he brightened considerably.
"Maizono-san! Who'd have thought we'd run into each other again? This is a lovely surprise! It's so nice to see you, how've you been?"
He chuckled as he nodded. "But yes, it's true. Our center is Amagi Hiiro... But all the boys have something special they bring to the table so I enjoy being a member of ALKALOID very much."
"Oh, is that you? Tatsumi Kazehaya??" The young idol is quick to approach the man, quite excited to be able to meet him. "So it's true you're finally back from your hiatus? And you joined an idol group now, right? ALKALOID, was it?"
To think a formerly solo idol is now part of an idol group truly shows the way the idol industry is headed. Sayaka herself has her own idol group from the start, though she released a few solo songs along the way.

🍣 From Tatsumi to Aira :D LET'S CHANGE THINGS UP
"Wait, I can really have it?" Aira was surprised to see Tatsumi sharing some of his sushi with him after Aira had finished training by himself. It certainly filled him with joy though, so he was more than happy to accept the offer. “Thank you so much, Tattsun-senpai~. It looks very good.”
“It is,” Tatsumi smiled mildly as he placed the bento box in Aira’s hands. “I just had some myself but I can’t eat more right now... And I thought of you, Aira-san. I’m glad it’s appreciated.” He resisted the urge to pat the blond on his head and instead walked on over to a chair, sitting down on it and stretching his legs out as far as possible. That... Felt better. “There aren’t a lot of rolls though, because too much nori has never really agreed with me.”

(beta editor still confuses me but @.@)
HiMERU never once lost his gaze at Tatsumi the entire time, remaining completely silent as he listened to the other’s pleas.
What else was HiMERU gonna do that didn't involve blaming Tatsumi for something? There has to be someone to blame for everything that happened at Reimei, right? Something to keep HiMERU from doing any damage to himself. His self-esteem was already destroyed as is... He made it his mission though to keep the name [HiMERU] alive. Not just for him, but for Kaname’s sake.
"....No. That's something HiMERU wouldn't do." HiMERU’s voice only became more stern as he let out a sigh. As much as he was provoked, if he were to retaliate with violence, that’ll only just make matters worse. “If circumstances have been different, then maybe it’ll be easier for him to start anew.”
Well, that... Caused Tatsumi to relax. A little. Not much, because even if the threat of violence had disappeared - the very thought about something violent occurring was enough to cause cold sweat to break out on his skin and his heart rate to quicken uncomfortably - there was still a certain amount of adrenaline coursing through his veins.
Swallowing, Tatsumi tried to push his own discomfort aside, because truly, HiMERU did look like he had so much on his mind and wouldn't he feel better if he were to finally talk things through with Tatsumi? Maybe that would clear the air a little, make HiMERU feel better...
But then... But then.
Just what did he say just then and there?
"...H-him...?"

MEDIC : for one muse to show up at the other’s doorstep injured. - Niki Rinne or Mayoi Tatsumi... Either? >_>
universalcrossover answered:
Mayoi wasn't really expecting company to be coming over to his dorm room at this hour, especially with how busy many people usually are. The purple-haired man heads over to the door when he heard the sound of knocking, opening it up to find Tatsumi.
The sight right before Mayoi caused his worries to spike through the roof. It didn’t look like just a typical foot or leg injury that Tatsumi had discussed about before. Good thing Tomoya was busy attending Yumenosaki to see this. Such small and fragile beings shouldn’t bare witness to certain things.
“T-Tatsumi-san! What happened to you? Umm... I-I can try carrying you over to my bed, though I’m not sure how much help I’ll be.”
The smartest thing was of course to go back to his own dormitory and rest there. Tatsumi realized this, but... That would mean bothering Koga, and while they weren’t on bad terms with UNDEAD - not like Crazy:B (but then again, who did like Crazy:B? Maybe Alkaloid themselves did more than anyone else... But that was neither here nor there) - he still didn’t feel entirely comfortable bothering the younger boy.
He didn’t feel particularly good about bothering Mayoi either, or his little roommate... The leader of Ra*bits, right? Tatsumi couldn’t remember the boy’s name right now, and maybe it didn’t matter.
“I’m... I’m really sorry about bothering you like this, Mayoi-san...” Tatsumi leaned heavily against the door frame, his fingers leaving prints that were sticky with blood. “I... Was walking down the stairs... Um. A flight of stairs. I... Well, I guess it doesn’t matter. My leg locked up, see? And, well...” He tumbled down those steps. Nothing broken, but he was bleeding from several cuts and scrapes, and his ribs smarted a lot; not to mention that he felt uncomfortably dizzy.
“I just need to rest a little.” And I don’t want to be alone, he didn’t add. It felt too pathetic.

❛ i didn’t mean it like that! ❜ Tatsumi -> HiMERU >o>
universalcrossover answered:
Just hearing that response alone only made HiMERU's anger stir inside even more, especially when it came from Tatsumi of all people. Kazehaya Tatsumi, Kazehaya Tatsumi, Kazehaya Tatsumi.... That man has caused HiMERU nothing but problems, and it's been ongoing for so long.
Since the two of them were currently alone with nobody around at the moment, it gave the blue-haired man a reason to let his emotions loose and not hide it behind a "perfect" persona anymore. HiMERU gave Tatsumi a cold death glare, slamming his hand on the wall, pinning the other against it.
"Just like you don't mean anything else you've said to HiMERU? [I] am sick of your lies, Kazehaya Tatsumi... Your ignorance truly shows in that smile of yours and the words that spew out of your mouth. Always ready to play the card of the savior or the victim at any opportunity you can lay your vile hands on, adding more salt and blood to the wounds of others. [I] have no tolerance for that from the likes of you."
Any hope Tatsumi might have had about HiMERU allowing his thoughtless little comment to slip by without too much of a debacle was quickly extinguished. Which... He should have seen coming, all things considered. He opened his mouth to perhaps explain himself further but HiMERU suddenly sprung into action, glaring at him and pinning him against the wall. Tatsumi let out a small, startled yelp at that but he made no immediate attempt of trying to push HiMERU away. It really seemed like the yellow-eyed boy (man? Sometimes, he really didn’t know) had something he wanted to tell him.
And sure enough.
Tatsumi noticed immediately that he didn’t refer to himself in third person as he spoke. Why did he do that? Why did he change the matter in which he spoke from time to time? (And why did it always send a chill down Tatsumi’s spine?)
“I’m not smiling right now, HiMERU-san. And if I’ve ever tried to play the victim card... That’s never been my intention. I promise. I just don’t... Don’t see why we can’t be civil with each other. I know things have... Happened. I know that. But we’re starting fresh here, aren’t we?”
“I didn’t mean that what you’ve accomplished in the past is unimportant. It isn’t. I just meant that the HiMERU-san you were then and the HiMERU-san you are right now have different things... Both good... To bring to the table.”
“...Are you going to hit me?”

❰❰ ALMOST ❱❱ our muses almost kiss but don’t or are interrupted before they do. To Tatsumi, from Kaname. My favourite.
The mood had very subtly changed from just a casual conversation to... What was this? There was a sort of electricity in the air, Tatsumi felt, that almost made the hairs on his arms stand up straight. He was so very... So very aware. Of Kaname. Of his closeness. Of the sound of his breath, and the lilt of his voice as he spoke. He moved closer to him, almost unconsciously, and Kaname seemed to do the same. What were they even talking about? He couldn't just... Quite... Remember. There was a strange buzzing in his ears and his face felt heated.
"I..." Close. So close. Kaname's body, and his lips and...
"Hey, sorry, just gotta grab my stuff..." Sazanami Jun, who seemingly didn't even register that he was interrupting... Something. There in the room and then gone again, clearly in a hurry. Was he running errands, perhaps?
Tatsumi shook his head, trying to clear it, and simply stared back at Kaname. "...Oh, my."

@memoriastellarum
It's pretty late, so Kaname tries not to stomp as he makes his way through the halls. He shouldn't have even been out in the first place-- but he has priorities, contrary to how things look at the moment.
To think, he'd spent all day stupidly unaware that it was Tatsumi's birthday! He'd almost missed it, since no one had thought to inform him. He isn't a mind reader or anything like that-- so how was he supposed to know? As it turns out, he'd overheard some other students chatting about it, which made him all the more… well, what? Furious? Embarrassed? Jealous? It doesn't matter. What matters is what precious little time and means he'd had to set the record straight.
He feels a little bad when it appears as though Tatsumi is sleeping… but not bad enough to change his mind. He crawls right onto the bed, straddling the other's chest, and shakes his shoulder a few times, gently.
(It occurs to him that they find themselves in this position strangely often. But that's not his fault, really. Somehow, it just seems like the best way to get his point across… the best angle from which to reach.)
❝Tatsumi-senpai,❞ he hisses, as though he's trying to be quiet for the sake of others. He isn't, though-- it's more of a stage whisper, to judge it fairly.
❝You should have told me it was your birthday.❞ Oh, he's pouting. Intensely. But he shakes the bag a bit that he'd propped up beside him to call attention to it. Inside is a sweater-- and that's all it is, since the catacombs get chilly, simple and in a deep, rich red that, in hindsight, isn't all that fitting.
Too late to scruple over colours now.
❝You're lucky I got you anything,❞ he adds with an indignant huff, before softening it almost apologetically by adding, ❝I didn't think I'd be able to… But I didn't get caught, so here. Happy birthday.❞
Birthdays? Birthdays wasn’t something that was high on Tatsumi’s priority list. Least of all when it came to his own. They came once a year and then they passed, and he felt no wiser for it, so why make a big deal out of it? He certainly didn’t and if his ‘friends’ – bootlickers or followers or yes-men if you wanted to be crasser about it – hadn’t reminded him almost first thing that happened this morning, he would have completely forgotten about it. It was the end of the year after all, and there were so many other things to consider. They were just at the tail end of Christmas, the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which was a far more important birthday to consider, and New Years was coming up, something that held great importance for the Japanese people at large. The celebrations, discrete as they were, had continued throughout the day however, with boys handing him little gifts here and there, others who cheered for him and one of the teachers who summoned him for an awkward moment of sitting down for a cup of tea and some half dried mochi.
Again, he really didn’t see the point.
He was surprised though, mildly so, that he hadn’t seen hair nor hide of either Sazanami or HiMERU throughout the day. But he supposed they had their own issues to deal with, and he could understand how that would take priority for them. He didn’t blame them in the least, because why should he?
He felt a little odd though, once he finally settled down to sleep, but he was exhausted – wasn’t he always exhausted nowadays? Sometimes worryingly so. It was like no matter how much he slept, he never, ever felt rested – and he quickly drifted off to sleep…
…Only to be woken up by a heavy weight upon his chest and his eyes snapped open, disoriented at first, a seed of panic glinting in his eyes before he realized who it was that had planted himself on top of him.
“Hi—HiMERU-san…?” It took Tatsumi a moment or two to properly realize what the younger boy was talking about. Oh. Whispering. Right. That ought to be it, no?
“…I forgot… Anyway, you… You shouldn’t have. It’s dangerous, HiMERU-san…!”
“Why?”
