living through major historical events is never going to be easy or fun, but im trying to keep in mind one of my favorite quotes from uncle iroh.

it’s ok to feel anxious, to feel angry, but please take care of yourself today. avoid doomscrolling, hug a friend, do something that brings you comfort. do what you need to in order to keep your head above water.

then, once you’re steady, support the people around you. be kind. do what you can to help your neighbors and friends, especially those who will be feeling the greatest effects of the outcome of this election. if we want to see change in the world, we need to take those first steps ourselves. we will create hope in these dark times, because we will care for each other and take care of one another. as long as we’re here, as long as we care for each other, as long as we fight for each other, there’s hope.

having a previously feral cat is so funny because they will stay completely silent for months or even years & then one day it clicks that they can meow & then they run around the house making noises no domestically raised cat makes & it's like yeah little dude mmm aow away

haven’t been on much bc my dog has been sick :( between seizures and an infected tooth we’ve been having a Time trying to get everything fixed (this started around the holidays so our vet has been very booked up…we have been like 3-4 times in the past 4-5 weeks OTL does not help it’s like an hour drive there, so that’s been exhausting) now his new seizure meds are making him sick (was hoping it was like, just an adjustment period thing but he’s been sick for a week and having concerning symptoms…) if I’m not on a ton or slow to replying to messages it’s bc I’m working as much overtime as my job will give me bc Vet Expensive and mentally drained obvi 😞

have you already tried catching him unawares/would that be too stressful? 2/3 of my girls also refused to eat pills in food, i ended up having to pet them for a second then try as fast as i could to pop the pills in their mouth; hope you can get him to take his meds somehow <3

Unfortunately he’d not only catch me but beat my ass and break my bones and ragdoll me if I did that. I DID catch him off guard for his ear treatment and then corner him for his eye treatment no panic attack involved he’s just super angry and I look like a wild animal attacked me only one more medication to go for today. Unfortunately he does need a total of 4 medications twice a day (I was hoping to combine two in his food but he don’t like one of them) so the battle may be over but the war has just begun
