STATUS QUO: BEHIND THE SCENES
In a recent poll, you guys voted that the next thing you wanted to see about my book was a guide to catalyst. Catalyst is the name of my magical substance that ends the world and turns normal hot girls into purring, kitten-nosed baddies. While it started as The Magic, I have a touch of the tism and it turned into a scientifically plausible nutrient mineral that affects cell production, essentially allowing individuals to evolve as they please bluh bluh bluh.
So here it is, a thematically presented wiki page in the form of a project report by the milf herself, Mycelia. In the final promotional art, I made it into a notice board so that people wouldn’t think it was an actual scientific article or something. I know some of you would eat that up either way, but the rest of you are easily distracted, so I threw on a drawing of a pretty mushroom.
Fun fact! 2141 is my birthday backwards, the date of the first expedition is the birthday of my roommate who’s been helping me with a few ideas (like the crystal icicles on the mushroom), and the date on the newspaper is my other roommate’s birthday because otherwise they’d be sad.
Have a read and go look at the final artwork here @statusquoofficial

Whats your thoughts on arcane in generale? artisticly and storywise?
Tumblr media
Getting to both of these at the same time, I believe Arcane is an artistic masterpiece in 3D animation and character design, and the story itself holds up incredibly well to the hype it gets from the animation. It's a shame it only got two seasons because a plot that complex deserved to be explored way more, but I have faith in the writer's ability to pull it off nicely even with this runtime!
The arcane as a concept (and as a whole, so, also considering its implication the league of legends magic system) is soooo fascinating i want to bite it i can't help but think it's like a cooler version of electromagnetism which is so. chomp. gnam even. holds it in my hands like a nuclear core
And I don't have theories for the latter two acts! I know how some characters end up from league lore, I can guess one person who still has to show up (Leblanc where are youuuu Leblanc!!) but that aside i'm putting down the theorising until i've properly absorbed the thing as a whole

IM SO CURIOUS AB YOUR RESEARCH FOR WE ROTTEN FEW
Okay so the research I did most recently was for Sanji's hand burn! I've got a terminal disease called Realistic Injury-itis, where I need to know wtf I'm talking about before I can write an injury into a fic. This is my brainstorming/research doc for it. As you can see, I've never relaxed ever in my life.

Shout-out to the FinFin discord for being incredibly kind and welcoming! 💙
We might've already figured out a way to get "The Book of FinFin" to you all exactly how it was originally intended in terms of looks! There are folks on there who are wizards with HTML and I bow before them!
That and I'll even edit images that have German text on them to be in English but retain their original charm for the translation!
An example, the original:

the edit:

I am so excited to get to work on this with the team behind the homepage & gift us all a bit more FinFin in our lives! :>

I JUST HAD A BREAKTHROUGH WITH DARKERMATTERS
‼️ CW FOR: characters bound to a wall, blood and eyestrain (for the pictures used… they’re all screenshots from time again or 4th dimension
Okay. Most recent arc, right? We see a bound Uni on an operation table.
Tumblr media
The exact same predicament Mory was in, the previous arc.
Tumblr media
Since we know about the different universes… do you think the Uni we saw was ACTUALLY FROM one of those different universes? Could they be somehow tangling up together, explaining the creepy events? We know magic has different laws from the book Mory had. But do timelines count as universes? The reincarnation thing in the mirror (for Winnie) could be explained by some kind of magic, as pup is technically NOT from an alternate universe but earlier in time.
Tumblr media
The “different universe” theory could prove that this isn’t the real Uni. This one has to be from a sparkleswap universe (as the comments in the last one implied lol)
OR something a bit more sinister!
Since Moore is Barry’s reincarnation… do you think that Dr. Uni (is what I’m calling the above) was operating on Barry, in that timeline?
Tumblr media
And do you think that, in the most recent arc, it was the other way around? Why would Uni be screaming his name?
Unless it’s Nightstars. Honestly I haven’t read it so I have no idea if SC is canon in that universe, BUT it’s still possible that it’s Barry, who had turned against her (most likely by threatening) was who was operating on her in this scene! Honestly, with how big-brained smart guy he is, I wouldn’t be surprised
Sorry if this sounds all clobbered up I just wanna share my genius breakthrough! Trust me guys I solved Darkermatters
But what abt the book?
Uhhhhhhhhh. Magic in of itself?

Perhaps this is an opinion that will seem controversial to those who like to keep spirit and science in separate containers, but it really just like. gets to me sometimes, just how much of therapy is witchcraft.
A therapist once had me visualize what it would look like if I “pulled” my traumatic feelings out of my body physically. I saw myself gather a heap of terrified ants, and she then told me to ask them what their purpose was, and if they’d be okay converting that nervous energy into enthusiasm for the task at hand instead. The same therapist also had me visualize speaking to myself as a little girl. My patron deity, Loki, once had me do the same.
In my outpatient, I remember how much it struck me that group therapy is like. literally just a coven. We would sit in a circle and enter into the space together via meditation, followed by spending the rest of the time doing Good Work for ourselves and others, with the guidance of someone knowledgeable who’d been through it all.
These things are never separate when I look at them. To heal oneself and others, to care for the world, to craft a better future with shared willpower and kind intention—they are common goals with very common practices.
Magic has always just been the application of old sciences, and the new ones aren’t unfamiliar.

honestly it's kinda funny how my two main fields of study somehow bleed into everything i design (computer science: horrendously rule lawyer-y, requirements on brutal efficiency/biology: central idea on form directly serving function (bleeds severely into my character designs))

THE MAGIC OF VERMICOMPOSTING: HOW WORMS CAN TRANSFORM YOUR GARDEN AND REDUCE WASTE
Tumblr media
Are you tired of throwing away your kitchen scraps and yard waste, only to see them end up in a landfill? What if I told you there was a magical solution that could transform your waste into nutrient-rich compost for your garden, all with the help of some slimy little creatures? That’s right, we’re talking about the magic of vermicomposting – the process of using worms to break down organic waste into a rich soil amendment. In this blog, we’ll explore the benefits of vermicomposting, how to set up your own worm bin, and tips for maintaining a healthy worm population. Get ready to discover the power of these little composting champions and transform your waste into a garden oasis!
Vermicomposting: What is it?
In vermicomposting, worms are used to compost. It is an efficient way to reduce kitchen and yard waste while providing a nutrient-rich additive for your garden.
The process is simple and does not require a lot of space. It only takes a composting bin, bedding material, and worms to get started. The worms will compost the organic matter once it has been broken down.
Composting worms are different from earthworms in your garden. They are specially adapted to eating organic matter and are very efficient at breaking it down.
Vermicomposting has many benefits, including reducing waste, improving your garden, and reducing your carbon footprint. If you want to reduce your waste and help the environment, vermicomposting is a great option!
The Benefits of Vermicomposting
Vermicomposting has clear benefits, and the practice is easy to implement. The worms will do the work of breaking down the organic matter into nutrient-rich, dark compost. This compost can then be used to fertilize plants in your garden. It is an efficient way to reduce waste while providing essential nutrients for your garden.
The benefits of vermicomposting extend beyond reducing waste and enhancing garden health. In addition to producing less waste, vermicomposting reduces the amount of methane released into the atmosphere. It has also been found that vermicomposting increases the number of beneficial microbes in soil, which helps plants absorb nutrients more effectively.
As a result of vermicomposting, toxins such as fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are eliminated from the environment. Degrading organic matter also reduces carbon dioxide emissions and global warming. Moreover, plants are able to grow better as the soil becomes more resistant to erosion.
Overall, vermicomposting can play an important role in fighting climate change and reducing pollution. By recycling kitchen and yard waste, you can create nutrient-rich compost that has the potential to revolutionize your garden and help the environment.
