Well, well, well, here are some very interesting things and again if people were actually a bit more informed on Bangtan Lore they wouldn't seemed so lost now with that imagery and those changing colours. That Who MV is full of B.U. references, themes and imagery.
First, cars don't represent masculinity. Cars represent adulthood, and the fire here yes represents love but as a potentially wrecking force (just like on the Fire MV, something that implies the Crash between this young love against the demanding world of adults.
The record shop being called "Slow Dance" is a straight reference to the main titles of Layover, so Taehyung, but it's also a reference to "First Love" concept vid (a Suga solo song), where Suga forcefully enters the shop and plays on the piano JK's tune in "Begin", a song dedicated to Tae. However, because of Suga's denial of JK's love, he causes a car Crash that makes the piano (a metaphor for his love with JK) burn. Again the Clash with the adults represented by the cars.
Much later, on Yet to Come MV, Suga would sit on a Red-coloured piano in the midst of an Smeraldo Garden. So, Smeraldo flowers are directly linked to the Sugakookie story.
And Thanks to Jimin here enters the other Big theme from Bangtan Universe, the "impersonation" theme, through those dancers representing the BTS members on "Who".
Once again, which member was Tae dancing with on Slow dancing MV? Yes! It was with the sleeve-tattoed dancer that many mistook for Jungkook!
The thing is, which other member was representing Suga then? Suga, who was sitting on that burning, red-coloured piano? Here some hints:
Who else identified himself with a flame in Save Me MV?
The simple drawing of Suga's face that Jungkook held on his hand in the Begin Concept vid and then changed into this massive burning portrait with the face of some other member --Who was he?
Second, The use of colours as flashes is not new, again we have to return to Sugakookie motel scene from Euphoria, a solo song that curiously featured all BTS members. Watch carefully the flames in that motel scene and how they changed their colours. Do you want to guess what colours those flames changed into? Smeraldo, anyone?
And that motel scene was reenacted purposefully for Euphoria too. Jungkook was dragging Suga out of the bed, to Save him from the flames.
Or it wasn't really Suga?
Who appeared later laying on the ground, covered on red colours and surrounded by blue ones?? (I'm on the phone so sorry no pics but you can check for yourself).
Why had to appear all members on a Jungkook solo song, by the way?
I always tell you this, but this is not the Jikook romantic story you want to hear.
Jimin here is telling the story of another member. Impersonation and all.
Like when he posted the Listening party pics first. He's just returning some (belated) favours. Like the good friend he is.
Back to WHO : the MV
This is a continuation of the earlier post that discusses the song WHO, by Jimin. That post was a first impression focused on the lyrics - while this one looks more closely at the MV.
(Remember this is my interpretation, not an official statement by Hybe)
The more times I watched the music video, the more I wanted to yell, because look...
IT'S REALLY STARING US IN THE FACE.
And again, kudos to Jimin's team because it's the most obvious thing in the world ever but only if you ALREADY KNOW what's going on.
Here's a summary:
The music video loosely represents Jimin's attraction/sexuality/love life as a timeline.
New colours - a new spectrum shall we say - filter into his life even though he's trying so hard to 'keep to the program'.
He searches high and low for a girl to love, but alas, nobody makes the fireworks happen for him. Then Billboard Boy crashes into his life, threatening to destroy everything. Jimin has to weather the storm and figure out where his place is because Billboard Boy is a major disruptor - a tornado in fact. In the end, the fireworks are popping and the chaos is happening, and Jimin has to just go with it and finds his place again. His colours have been getting brighter and louder as he goes along and in the end he's prepared to walk away from everything in order to be the spectrum he is.
<<I'm not saying it's literally a count of how many girls or boys or enbys he's kissed. I hope his kissed all of them and then some, frankly, but that's none of my business.>>
A few things to pay special attention to:
Burning cars > cars = masculinity. fire = hot. 1+1=2.
Dancers > people he's interacting with
Rough weather, as represented by the wind-whipped papers and eventually even cars being tossed about the set > His attraction to men (and dare I say it, culminating in a focus on one man in particular)
Colour flares, machine text, and marks on the tape (horizontal lines etc)
Are you ready? Let's go...
Jimin enters the scene looking like sex on legs (no surprises) and strolls casually onto the road. Immediately our view of hm is blocked by a pop-art style poster blowing across the screen. It's immediately followed by a car coming around the corner onto the road. The car is on fire. Jimin watches it pass by and follows it.
He follows the burning car.... and so it begins.
The narrative starts from before BTS even exists. Jimin encounters several female dancers who he has brief and sexy interludes with. In fact i don't think there's a single woman in this MV who he doesn't at least look at. He really does try everything (and everyone) in his efforts to find HER.
BUT WAIT.... rewind...
Let's go back to the poster... it depicts a street scene much like the one we see here, with the words:
WHO IS!! TORNADO OF LOVE
Note: those are exclamation points not question marks.
It's not a question. This is telling us UP FRONT IN BIG LETTERS that 'WHO' is tornado of love.

I could probably stop here and just say 'ok go watch it again' but it's too much fun to go through all the details.
So let's continue...
Jimin has a little more steamy choreo with the female dancers before the lyrics tell us he has so many people to see and places to go, and he leaves them and joins 6 other men in what looks like a work environment....
Hello we are BTS!
Yes you guessed it... like Yoongi did in Haegum, Jimin has his members represented here. (Fan chant going off in my head...) and more delicious choreography follows.
Notice that while Jimin was dancing with the girls, the only signs of rough weather were a few glittery specs floating through the air, barely noticable. Those bits of glitter multiply when he joins the 6 men, and instead of a sprinkling of glitter, it starts looking like a light snowfall.
That's all about to change....
The first moment of reckonning:
At the end of this section of choreo, as Jimin sings 'who is my heart waiting for' and moves into the next phase we have a barely visible flash of light across the screen and rainbow colours bleed into the footage (at 1.14).
This is also the moment the significant rough weather starts. I'd say this is where Jimin starts noticing how he feels, and the turmoil begins, because this is also where he makes eye contact with the camera (1.23).
He sees us watching.
Fuck. I had a moment here. There's a look on his face as he walks past the camera and stares right into it.
AUTO CALLIBRATION...
As another millisecond flash of light and rainbow colours seep into the footage, The machine text 'AUTO CALLIBRATION' appear on the screen and flash there for a couple of seconds.
CALLIBRATE: To standardise... by determinning the deviation from a standard so as to ascertain the proper correction factors (Meriam-Webster definition).
"Get a hold of yourself, Jimin. Reset (your behaviour and desires) to correspond with expectations"
Jimin makes a very determined bee-line for the nearest girl and dances with her, ignoring the burning car in the foreground.
This brings us to the next phase of the narrative, and the next location - the performance space in front of the OASIS cinema.
(Do you see the doors of the cinema - BTS referenced again).
As he dances with this girl, the camera zooms out and we see that a crowd has gathered outside the cinema, watching them, but the crowd does not seem friendly and the dance seems performative - the movements are exagerated and obvious. The girl has Jimin in a headlock at one point and then she pushes him away and leaves. All in all it's an unpleasant event.
At this point the BTS members return (Although now there's one missing) and they dance with and around a number of female dancers. flashes go off in the crowd as the choreo is performed.
As they dance the wind picks up quickly and papers and cans are blown about. Even when Jimin is obviously interacting with female dancers the weather continues to pick up. Dancing with the girls isn't helping.
The camera pulls back and we see the same car as before, still on fire.
This is the moment when the penny (or billboard) drops.
All the other dancers scatter, dissapearing in a matter of seconds as the bilboard comes crashing down. The billboard blocks his path. Wherever he had been planning to go - or whatever course of action he had planned to take - he has to rethink.
Jimin turns and goes in the opposite direction to everyone else. (A similar scene occured in Like Crazy, Jimin going the other way form everyone else).
The machine text flashes "REWIND ... REWIND" on the screen and Jimin seems to be heading back to where all this started... where the original car on fire was seen.
He's travelling his own path now, but as he walks, alone in what seems to be the wrong direction, we see the store lights brighter, reflecting off cars and filling the space around him.
He's going through the motions with the girls he passes but the interactions are brief and in one case he actually dodges the girl completetly.
He retraces his steps amidst the chaos, and the weather really goes nuts. Now there are cars being thrown through the air, streetlamps exploding.
As Jimin steps into that original street again, the one with the neon letters spelling BLISS, the machine text reads PLAY. It's almost ike he's having a redo, where he accepts who he is from the start and allows the chaos to happen. And the chaos DOES happen, because the tornado has arrived.
THE TORNADO OF LOVE.
There's a flash and the whole screen is flooded with colours, blanking out the footage.
Jimin can't actually dance in step with everyone else at this point. He's doubled over, belting those high notes at the climax of the song while the chaos rages in the background.
Sparks fly, lights flash, even the film itself is affected...
He eventually gets it together and rejoins the choreography, picking up his life so to speak. But his callibration is forever changed. the colours that bled into his life are there for good now, and and as he walks away after the music stops, we see that those colours are not just for the performance, they exist outside of that.
A note about the light flares we see throughout the MV:
It was really hard to catch these, some of tem were literal milliseconds. I had to slow the MV down to play at .25 original speed and even then they were fleeting - well hidden.
Only the one at the very end was really visible.
In this one, the word PAUSE appears, as the MV ends. I wonder if that relates to their military service?
The flares of light and colour, those rainbow flashes, aren't always easy to find. Youvhave to be prepared to seek them out.
We will find them if we look for them, but i think Jimin won't show his true colours until after the lights go down and the performance is over.
I respect his decision (if that's what that is) and i will continue to meet him here his stands. I'll support everything he does knowing what I know and I'll continue to search for and uncover the hidden messages he sends us.

I'm really curious about your journey into kpop! I'm army and I started from there, though I wouldn't say I stan any other group. I try to give a fair shake when songs pop up but I haven't been nearly as attached to these groups and their members as I have to bts, but still I really like a lot of the music. I think you said you listen to mostly kpop but have you always done that?
i started with kdramas! That's when I first heard the term "idol" and wondered what the fuck an idol was supposed to be - why not just call them singers lmao?. I remember seeing YT comments about how Armys were the only ones watching whatever, and I wondered what Army was supposed to be in that context. I was watching Chief Kim (awesome, hilarious drama!) at the time, and there was a character who hated BTS because she was secretly Army and loved them too much haha. She made a ton of references to BTS songs, and I think that's how she and her boyfriend got together in the drama? All of that flew past my head, but I remember the translators explaining the song references. Also, that drama writer mentions BTS/Army in, like, all their dramas (eg. The Fiery Priest).
That was kind of my introduction to the concept of kpop, I guess? Before that, I knew kpop=BTS and Blackpink from tumblr, but didn't know what kpop was. I also knew BTS from YT (I saw a video title that was "Suga secretly knows English" lmao, and I knew Jungkook, Jimin and Jikook by name) and Buzzfeed (there was an article about the bottle cap challenge and how Jungkook nailed it) and Blackpink from Coachella (because of celebrities taking pics with them). I knew Girl's Generation and Seventeen my name only. When a friend told me she was listening to kpop I checked BTS out (I watched the first Idol performance on Jimmy Fallon, among others) but didn't like them. However, a month later I couldn't get Idol out of my head (RM's "You can call me artist, you can call me idol" was playing in a loop inside my mind lmao), That's when I fell down the BTS rabbit hole (actually, it was because I started watching Jikook videos... I thought they were a confirmed couple...) I think at this point I was already watching dramas? This isn't a linear narrative lmao. The first kpop song I loved was Exo K's Mama though! And also Overdose, to a lesser extent. Mama is such a masterpiece and it's totally my style. I found it on an "old- school" kpop Spotify playlist. After getting into BTS, I listened to some Blackpink and many popular groups and songs. I couldn't stand most ggs though. I could only listen to RV, (G)I-dle, and Mamamoo, because they didn't have a cutesy sound. Twice made me cringe. It took me like a year to get into them. I think it started with The Feels and the pandemic. I had to get used to ggs. Also, I still cringe at a lot of Twice's old bsides. I really started listening to more groups during and after the pandemic. However, like you, I'm still only Army. I can't actually feel a huge attachment to another group and don't have the desire to keep up with them and watch everything of theirs. Most groups aren't funny or charismatic enough to me, and there isn't a group whose discography I love so much. Other groups often lipsync and don't write their own songs too, so I can't fall for them as artists...
Thanks for the ask! I don't even remember how it began exactly haha.

Hello :) I was the one who brought up the possible INTP (Jin) and ENTP (hobi) aspect of Yoongi’s soul.m and Yoongi himself possibly being a 3 in terms of enneagram. I see why people think he might be a 5 but I disagree. However, he probably does score high in 3, 4, and 5, becasue they all’s hate similar traits. I think some say 5 because he has this loner aspect to him as well, then again 5s tend to not care about their physical appearance, and we all know Yoongi has had his fair share of days when he prefered to dress quite dapper (cough cough 3 cough cough his airport pics). 5 is also associated with INTP so I can see that as another possiblity, but your enneagram doesn’t necessarily have to match your mbti (mine doesn’t for example.
On a more serious note, the reason I say 3 is becasue type 3 is also known as The Achiever. Threes want to be successful and admired by other people, and are very conscious of their public image. We can see this in various aspects of Yoongi’s life. Unlike all the members of BTS he was truly the only one who didn’t have his parent’s initial support from the onset of his career. Having to decide between food or transportation at 17? I think that’s something someone who has great ambition and a deep desire for success can only endure. Similar to getting a shoulder injury and persevering with the pain for over 7 years? He has 3 written all over him.
And not to mention the saying; “what Yoongi, wants Yoongi gets” :) I think Yoongi himself has been a huge driving force with the direction BTS has taken and goals they’ve aimed for. Of course all 7 members play a significant role, but even in the last press conference, the members themselves referred to all questions about their future goals as “Yoongi should answer this.” And these are just the goals he’s shared with us in the past 2-3 years. Who knows what type of conversations they had prior up and up until their trainee days. 3s also tend to promote themselves and to talk about their brilliant achievements. And he even went as far as to make himself an alter ego specifically for this purpose (Agust-D anyone :)
Finally, there’s the image conscious part to type 3. In a 2016 interview for grazia, Yoongi stated how he wanted to get a tattoo, but decided against it, and I quote: “I have something I want to do in the future. I want to do some charity work, but having a tattoo might work negatively. That is why I'm holding back." Also tattoos are still seen as taboo in Korea (thank you JK and all the awesome Koreans for helping break this story type)! Yea but that just goes to show how much Yoongi considers his public image. Yoongi has also spoken about how he wants to help others (also he reads a lot of books on psychology). This is accurate seeing as how you also mentioned him and his soulmate may undertake a similar endeavor in the future.
I can see why some people think 5w4. I read up on it and that really does seem like Yoongi. But I think that’s just him in passing in a way (like the passive aspect of himself), who enjoys learning and giving his all into what we piques his interest. However, 5s are very process-oriented: they do not care about final goals and can be extraordinarily involved in abstract ideas just for the sake of acquiring knowledge, basically as an end in itself. 5s also tend to be secretive about their work and discoveries. That isn’t Yoongi. I think everything he undertakes is done with an end-goal/aim in mind. 3s on the other hand pursue their intellectual work with personal goals in mind (either consciously or unconsciously): to impress others, to be famous, to be known as best in their field, to be acclaimed as a genius (cough cough Min Genius—self proclaimed), to beat a rival at a discovery, to win a prestigious prize or grant, and so forth. Yoongi has also always been super open about all aspects of himself and his world views with ARMY. Unlike some of the other members who distance themselves from their BTS “personas,” I think the SUGA you see in public is very much similar to the Yoongi in private. I believe 3 is the more active aspect of him. But like I said he can be high in both.
This is just my opinion by the way. It’s all in good fun, as the only way his enneagram would be confirmed is if he outrightly said what it was similar to his mbti. Also this was way longer than expected :( sorry I just find personality types really fascinating.
I love how well thought out this is!! So well spoken and I'd definitely be inclined to agree with you here! The more and more I read about enneagrams the more I think 3 would totally suit him!

Re: ‘Unpopular Kpop Opinions’ Part 8 (Jin Edition) [I RAGE]

PPPFFFF - pFF PPfff pPFffpfpfff PFfff (Boring?? bitch whurrr)

maybe cause your criticisms are shit
It wasn’t enough for OP to shade Jin- they had to be petty and drag a bunch of other idols as “talentless visuals”; ARMYs’ blood, sweat, and tears weren’t enough to quench OP’s thirst for ~destruction~. And once again, hate/criticism refers to typical traits like visuals and general talent (which just about all Kpop groups are capable of) while ignoring the lovable qualities (of character and inspiration) that matter most. OP, your existence is questionable to me.
What makes me sad is that supposed fans like you couldn’t see the struggles of confidence and self-love that Seokjin had to go through, especially when being told by antis and “fans” that he’s only around for looks. All these Kpop idols have to train hard and are expected to meet certain criteria of talent, looks, etc. - but that just defines them as performers. These idols aren’t your puppets, they have their own personalities, struggles, and levels of progress; Jin has been constantly improving, working hard, and securing a place within the Bangtan family- but y’all just wanna judge him by how flashy and entertaining he can be for you, as if what he lacks in talent is what defines his worth and value in BTS. What hurts more is that not only does he become an easy target for antis/stans of other groups, but even many ARMYs aren’t there to support/defend him when he gets shit from said antis, akgaes, etc). He constantly has to remind himself that he’s handsome to have acceptance for his damn self especially cause he is left feeling/treated like that’s all he is good for. But these confidence-boosters aren’t just to cope with any insecurities left; they help set an example to many ARMYs to not just love themselves- but to be confident and proud of who they are, something many still need to learn. I don’t care (obviously) whether or not y’all agree with me, Jin IS Bangtan’s idol- one to inspire us all.

^(Not necessarily disagreeing with the pic above, just using it as an example)
His priority of Bangtan’s bond and ARMYs’ happiness before himself, ability to flaunt confidence in a joking manner while bringing out confidence in others, and years spent restricted by himself and BigShit (*cough*) to the point where even his personality and thoughts are often unclear/misunderstood (and people like you assume it’s all pure arrogance)- only make us want to cheer for him more.
Sad that you couldn’t see the real beauty of Kim Seokjin.
