Just finished reading my first book of 2023, Reverse by Kate Stewart, was everything I loved about Drive. After finishing 600+ pages in less than 48 hours I am left feeling like my heart was ripped out of my chest. Nobody writes passion and whirlwind romances quite like Stewart.

I am prefacing this beforehand that I got into some dark romance and raunchy shit this year so if you like that then you should like most of these. My favourite 2 reads of the year. Kate Stewart is known for her Ravenhood series (especially on TikTok), but these ones are so underrated in my opinion. 

I read Drive in February or March this year, and I’ve never had a book consume me with so many emotions. It’s about a woman named Stella who goes through a period of her life loving two men (a wannabe musician and a new record label owner) while trying to figure out what she wants from her own life. Some people might think its an average read, and it probably is, but Stella was relatable - struggling to choose between love and career. The writing and emotion behind it pulled my heart strings. I’ve read over a hundred romance novels this year, but this one just spoke to me differently. 

Reverse is the duet book, it’s written in the future, where the characters from the first book are adults and have their own kids. I don’t want to give much away, but this book had me tearing up too. I don’t think it surpasses Drive, but it’s definitely worth the read. The story was written very well. 

5 stars, no doubt.

I just finished The Ravenhood Duet a few hours ago and I still feel this hollow pain in my heart

I thought it was HEA already (although I'm more of Team Sean/Dom all the way)

but then I just found out that there is a third book??? (Last book)

Its release is in two or three weeks from now

Exodus was so disappointing??? But like, just for me, I think!!!

So hear me out but I could not care less about this bastard Tobias King??? He's like... a cheaper Dominic in my head, and the whole of Book 1 didn't pave the way for him to be important in Book 2... much less the FRICKING ENDGAME AND THE LEAD LOVE INTEREST?!?!?!?

Like Cecelia's character arc was so damn beautiful in both books - the way her duality and character growth was portrayed and then BOOM, she had to still end up with Tobias in the end? I would have given this book a WHOLE FIVE STARS if Tobias and her did not end up together and if she she swore off these Triple Falls men but nawww??? They had to still end up together and for what??? FOR WHAT KATE??? TO UNDO HER BEAUTIFUL CHARACTER ARC???

Her relationship with Dom and Sean didn't directly have anything to do with her chemistry with Tobias??? He's like, the Rowan Whitethorn of the series lmfaoooo. And I got so fricking sad when Dom had to die AND FOR WHAT??? BECAUSE CECELIA WAS THE BIG PUZZLE PIECE IN TOBIAS' STUPID TREACHEROUS PLAN??? How did I miss the plot of the movie like this???

Like Flock is a beautiful taboo love story and then, okay, we knew it was gonna fall apart but I was expecting the sheer epic catharsis of the story to be continually directed towards Dom and Sean still, and not Discount Damon Torrance. It's like Exodus unraveled in my hands as I read it. I skimmed through chapters upon chapters of Tobias smut only for Cecelia to end up with the walking French cliché and for Dom and Sean to mean virtually nothing in the end.

EXODUS WAS WASTED POTENTIAL AND I WILL PRETENDING FLOCK IS THE ONLY BOOK IN THE SERIES GOODBYE
