My girlfriend, Jess (who's Gansey in these pics), started reading The Raven Cycle at the very end of last year. Shortly after, she got me into it, and we're both madly in love with this series now.

We wanted to do something for our first St. Mark's Eve in the fandom, so we decided to do some shots of Gansey's church watch!

This series has become something really special for us, and we're excited for the summer and all sorts of TRC fun. 💖

I wanted to do a bruise makeup for Adam, and it didn't quite turn out how I had hoped. But!!! I still wanted to share it as an attempt.

what you do have to understand about the dreamer trilogy is that gansey did actually die at the end of the raven cycle. adam and ronan's behavior in call down the hawk makes more sense if gansey is dead. furthermore, adam and ronan actually broke up in the dreamer trilogy. i haven't decided if nathan and therefore carmen are real yet. hennessy did save ronan from the sweetmetal sea with the tattoo still. hennessy did still figure out the lace. jordeclan is the realest thing in tdt. matthew did not walk back home at the end he survived on his charisma for like years somehow before declan became aware of him again and he felt really shocked and guilty and had to be the one to reach out to repair the relationship. ronan continued to struggle with depression forever. the lace as a concept and its relation to ronan as a concept was explored more. ronan actually on page had a moment more fleshed out than "there was no dissonance" to resolve the tension around being of two worlds in greywaren. he eventually met and fell in love with the lightning rod guy who walked barefoot on the lines that gansey couldn't get to get on an airplane or otherwise travel to virginia. adam realized she's trans and stopped cosplaying gansey and dropped out of harvard (not necessarily in that order) and got tips from fox way on other psychics in other places to visit and she found a home somewhere in this way. i know it might not be how you remember it but it's what happened.

ARRANGED MARRIAGE MY BEST BELOVED!!! I would like more people to appreciate pseudo historical political arranged marriage in all of my fandoms so y'all can send me your fics and I can feast upon them like a ravenous victorian waif who has been slaughtered by a chocolate shop!!! (side note: if anyone wants to recommend me arranged marriage fics I will be standing here with a collection tin)

16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate

I am forever LOCH obsessed, but, in the book there's this one line about Guo Jing and Huang Rong's first meeting that will live in my memory forever.

"Gladly so," replied the young man with a laugh. "Exactly, I was bored all alone and I've been looking for a buddy..." He had a Jiangnan accent, and its familiarity delighted Guo Jing. In fact, his mother was from Lin'an, in Zhejiang province, and the Seven Freaks all came from Jiaxing. He had therefore, since childhood, been immersed in the accent of the Jiangnan region.

He doesn't know that this girl is his wife yet (she's dressed up as a boy bc she's beggar cosplaying for scam reasons) but it's just. The way that her dialect accent reminds him, a boy who's been displaced from his homeland since before his own birth, of a home he's never had the fortune to step foot in.... 'and its familiarity delighted Guo Jing' will live in my heart forever.

21. a fandom you're not active in anymore but that you still really like

o man. I kind of cycle through fandoms! I used to do so more regularly, but I would like to say that I used to be really into Bleach, and I'm not anymore (I've only ever written a single Bleach fic haha) but I have SUCH fond memories of my UlquiHime days and I think that will live forever as a bright spot from my teens.
