Shirai doesn't really talk about it much outside of the text itself, which is a shame. The most attention paid to them is in this segment in the third chapter of the mystic code book:

And this is mostly just a summary of what the characters talk about during Goldy Pond.

And then this panel from chapter 77 might be of interest. You could interpret it as some demons using an adhesive akin to spirit gum to help keep their masks in place, which is interesting if you want to further explore mask etiquette.

The Father - Sebastian

The Mother - Eriza

Beware the Platinum Clan, especially their leader, High Priestess Eriza. These words have been passed around the inhabitants of Hisui in hushed voices for decades. Viewed by outsiders as an omen, but viewed as a mother by her followers. Eriza initially appears as a kindly woman, taking in exiles and outcasts from the Diamond or Pearl Clan and Jubilife Village. But it doesn't take a detective to suspect that there is something off about her. Perhaps it is her consistently calm demeanor and unbreaking gaze.. how she is accompanied by menacing-looking Pokemon (most of which aren't native to Hisui).. how she was able to stop a previously violent feud between the Diamond and Pearl clans with just one word and somehow drove their leaders into insanity.. how even the fearless Kamado clams up at her presence… or how nobody seems to know where the Platinum Clan's settlement is or what deity they worship. Records mention an island shrouded in fog that appears at random locations around Hisuian waters at different times with no pattern. But following the disappearance of the space-time rift, the island along with the clan and its leader also seemingly vanished without a trace..

The Sister - Moira

Age: 31 (during Gen 6) // Height: 171 cm // MBTI: ESTJ

Face Claim: Sumika Warakubami (Kakegurui)

Voice Claim: Mallory Low (EN) / Yu Shimamura (JP)

Tremble at the crack of her whip! Moira (codename: Solana) is the most feared Team Flare Admin with a sharp tongue and temper that is fitting with the organization's motif. She will not hesitate enacting some harsh discipline towards the buffoon grunts who constantly test her sliver of patience. Seriously, how do they keep losing against a group of kids?? But she is not "all bark, no bite." Her bewitching dance moves are said to empower her Pokemon, doubling the effect of their own dance moves. She may even join in on the battle herself, wielding her Doublade just so that she can have the hands-on experience of beating down her opponent. Unbeknownst to her boss, she has a personal reason to find the legendary bird of destruction.. as well as a massive celebrity crush on Diantha.

The Brother - Carmen

Age: 22 (during Gen 6) // Height: 175 cm // MBTI: ENFJ

Face Claim: Kayden (Eleceed)

Voice Claim: Kevin T. Collins (EN) / Jun Fukuyama (JP)

Do not underestimate his pretty face for he and his Pokemon can quite literally blind you and have your head spinning. With dazzling good looks and a singing voice that seems hypnotic, Carmen quickly rose to fame in the Unovan fashion and entertainment industry, going by the stage name "Carmen Valentine." Despite his popularity, his personal life is mostly kept private, further adding to the intrigue. His friendly professional rivalry with Elesa is no secret however and should anyone ask if the rumors of them actually being a couple are true, he will simply laugh it off. There have also been recent paparazzi reports spotting him making frequent trips to the Castelia City gym..

Phil’s manga absence: A Summary

Everyone, it is with a joyful heart that I can finally make this post.

The 100th chapter of The Promised Neverland was officially released on August 23rd, 2018. It was 175 days after this that I decided to make this sideblog, originally intended as a joke but also to spread the love for Phil.  Since then, you’ve all shown incredible amounts of love for this blog! And I want to express how grateful I am that we could all wait together for the 422 days since I began this countdown! 

Now, for the numbers:

Although spoilers have been leaked, tomorrow marks the official release of Chapter 175 on April 11th, 2020.

Phil’s hiatus in chapters: 75 chapters

Phil’s hiatus in terms of real-time: 1 year, 7 months, 19 days (or 19 months, 19 days)

Total days without Phil: 597 days

(Extra calculations: 14,328 hours/ 859,680 minutes/51,580,800 seconds)

That being said, it’s incredible to see how Shirai has woven the story’s plot together over these past 75 chapters, and I’m sure we’re all looking forward to seeing where things will go from here on out. Phil’s re-appearance was worth the wait, and I’m sure that his reunion scene will be perfectly beautiful~ After all of the hardships he and Emma have endured, it’ll be so emotionally gripping to see him reunite with the other Gracefield children! 

I’ll still keep this blog active to post about Phil (which I’ve been more active on than my main TPN account), for anyone who is still seeking Phil content. The final countdown post has been made-- Which after almost two years, feels so strange yet relieving to say.

Conclusion: Phil is safe and alive, and here’s to hoping the manga will end that way!

TPN 175 Review

Oh boy, this week’s chapter was short but ended in the best way imaginable, I’m excited just thinking about it!

As we see from the cover, Leuvis surprises everyone by saying that all farms are to be abolished. I was very shocked as well, it was this easy? I still can’t buy the story that he showed up out of nowhere and just saved the day.

Then we see Leuvis having his inner monologue. The only reason that he survived was because that he had two cores, much like Legravalima. Maybe his ideology changed when he had a near death experience? I find it hard to believe, but the fact that he didn’t know about his two cores is quite interesting.

And then something even weirder happens - Leuvis appoints Mujika as the next ruler of the demon world? Huh? I didn’t screenshot the pages of the demons being conflicted about Leuvis’ choices, but they do contemplate it for one page then change their opinions. Just how did the demons change their minds so quickly?

Then the Elder comes back as if nothing happened and he wasn’t in danger when Sonju and Mujika were arrested. I may sound pessimistic about everything working out so well, but isn’t this too abrupt? I’m highly suspicious that there is something else behind this and things aren’t what they seem, because if this is actually how it ends then I won’t be very happy.

Even having said all that, I still love this page of Mujika being crowned in front of the demons as their new queen. I love the crown made of leaves, it looks very nice.

We go back to Grace Field for a moment to celebrate their freedom with all the kids. it was impossible to not smile with them, it’s truly a remarkable moment in their history and I’m cheering with the kids right now!

This next page is going to make you cry, or at least emotional. Phil, our lord and savior, the best boy of the whole series, has finally reunited with Emma. It’s been so long and we were all so worried about his safety, but here he is, healthy and unharmed. We’ve waited so long and now he’s finally back! Or rather, we’re finally back to meet up with Phil.

I found this chapter to be very weird and I don’t trust it, but the last few pages and most of all, Phil (!!!) made it worth it. It’s enough to keep me thinking about it for the next two weeks.

Reminder that there’s no new chapter for two weeks!

This is so freaking heartwarming, but God damnit, May 10th? That’s so far away! I better be seeing a detailed version of their reunion. God, I’m so excited, and it seems like the series is going to be coming to a close soon, just a few more unanswered questions left and then it can wrap to a close. So I’ll see you all next month!
