Excalibur was gifted to him by the Lady of the Lake after the Sword in the Stone broke in a fight.

otherwise merlock is more than a hundred years old which means wanda is somewhere around 80-90 (if we assume she is the younger sibling - seeing as she isn’t grey while merlock is AND is sporting a waist-long beard I would wager she is) and if so when did she have clay (and fletcher)?! it couldn’t have been when she was 75 - biology doesn’t work like that-!

Clay Moorington is implied to be autistic, and I'm actually analysing it?!

Okay, first I want to mention the fact he's canonically attached to the knights code. I mean the whole episode of him being that attached to it, that it completely hurt him when the book blew up during the nexo power scan to get it into Merlok's systems. It's also canon he keeps the book close to him majority of the time, almost as if he has the obligation to make sure it's there.

Clay's VERY schedule driven, he got slightly annoyed at Macy for being 2 minutes late to the practice coordination drills. (If I remember correctly), and also sticks to schedules even when he's NOT practicing or training. (When he stuck to "relaxing" in knight out, and still ended up NOT doing that..) I mean he's more than just schedule driven.

I'm just saying, he's VERY fixated on the knights code. (And also incredibly fixated on his position as a knight, dedication is something he takes seriously.. to the point that if he fails he'll just break down in a way, and completely feel as if he's done something wrong.)

(also there's the scene from ep 27 when he starts infodumping about art, but that was probably to piss Lance off to some degree.)

There's no reason they would just imply clay as autistic like this, realistically it was intentionally implied that seemed to be something that the show and the fandom can see.

I think I started to rethink the Moorington's family and the weird timeline of Nexo Knights...

Okay, to start off, Merlok is like a hundred years old, I think that same goes for all the wizard in Nexo Knights, of course, they can be killed with a powerful spell. I heard that in Knights in the Realm, Clay was 13 when he started to go to Knight's Academy.

Okay, so, Fletcher is Clay's brother, from the info I have, Fletcher would be 4 years younger than Clay. From what I've seen people said that Clay might be around 4–5 years old to be able to walk around, and that's maybe when his mom, Wanda Moorington a.k.a Ruina Stoneheart, started to turn to stone.

So, it would be make sense for Fletcher to be born before she's got turn to stone. But it would be more fucked up if she did give birth to Fletcher only to turn to stone, abandoned her sons, and one of her son doesn't even know he has younger brother.

So let's do math when Merlok says he's being searching for Clay after finding out he has a nephews. 4/5 years old plus over 5 years, Clay would be 9–10 years old when Merlok found him and try to encourage him to be a knight.

Okay, so maybe the timeline is not so messy when you think about it, but it would be more fucked up when you know everything and think about it now...

Switched Career AU

I’m aware the name sounds like a sims expansion pack I’ll fix it later

AU info below!

So i got this idea when i was thinking about how younger me misunderstood Alice in the first episode.

I thought that when she said “country boy” she meant he was a cowboy. And i thought this for like a whole year.

And then i thought “What if he was a cowboy?” But thats too easy and boring + They already kinda did that in s4. Not really but close enough (i have enough memes of Cowboy Clay locked an loaded anyway so i think I’ll survive) So i continued thinking and remembered from the Knights code how Clay said a certain sword was easy enough a child could make it. And i just started assuming he must have some knowledge in weapon making. Cuz why not? and also! I didnt neglect the other knights for this project! THATS A FIRST!

I gave them minor redesigns, nothing too mayor but still something. (also all of this is pre-knights academy. So they’re like 15 or sum)

Yet again, just playing with the idea that he works as a blacksmith, providing for him an his brother.

I somehow thought out more for Aaron than Clay??? Big things are happening in Detroit ngl

I have a skit planned with Ruina involved, but more on that later

And for Merlok: guess he just never found him. Or he died. Idk I’ll figure something out later.

Oh and since Merlok couldn’t find him he just kinda grew into his powers, and so did Fletch. They dont know much tho about it and just use it as some sort of minor day to day tool. But they haven’t trained it so its just still kinda uncontrollable at times, remaining heavily linked to emotions. (All of this still in very early development dont come for me)

I have no clue what Aaron’s dad works as but i just made him a fisherman.

Aaron still craves danger, but the danger of fishing (cuz that shit can be real fucking dangerous let me tell ya that-)

He’s still too younge tho, but he can’t stop talking about it, and how much he wish he could join his dad on his boat (He has snuck on on several occasions but turns out hiding under deck during a storm isn’t a good idea. The only reason he stopped was cuz he’d miss out on the fun part regardless) Him and Clay are friends, meeting every now and again when Clay and Fletch come and buy fish from his family.

He’s been very excited about taking over the restaurant, already having a plethora of dishes he wants to make (and eat ofc).

He’s friends with Aaron, given they also buy fish from his family. He’s not very familiar with Clay tho. They’ve been at the fish market at the same time once or twice but barely talked. But they still see each other as friends, just not very close

Macy is still, Macy ig? I’m not sure what to do with her. So i just made King Halbert more chill. She takes several combat classes and planning on becoming a fighting queen if anything.

Her and her family are going on a trip through out the kingdom with the Richmonds. On her end its more of a meet and greet thing, but it’s different for Lance.

OG Lance must be quite jealous. He was sent into the acting industry at a very young age. He thrives in it, taking role after role back to back.

However this next one requieres some sort of reference with the commoners. He joins Macy’s family (Bringing his agent and Dennis with him obv.) as they travel through the country sides of the kingdom. He honestly can’t wait to go home and take a dip in the gold pool.

Idk why this thing kinda makes me sad but oh well, it’s the truth after all.

I am planning on writing this. Like fanfic wise.

But whenever that’ll be out is a mystery.

I haven’t written a fanfic since my wattpad days and AO3 still lowkey scares me.

Also other than Fletch so am i not sure what to do with Ava, Robin or Izzy. So if ya have any ideas, please share, i have no clue.

Pt. 1 — Royal

And so it begins! I wanted to use this challenge as a way to infodump about the rewrite and the lore around it. And what better way to start off than to talk about the man who started it all?

The Halbert royal family has been the only one to claim the throne of Knighton for almost a thousand years. With no competition against their kindness and godly understanding of technology and innovation, the kingdom remains the strongest empire in all the realm, all thanks to the goodness and grace of the Halberts of the past.

In the beginning, there was no order. Only chaos rampaged a land shrouded in darkness and disaster. But when all seemed bleak, a light beckoned through the shadows and summoned forth a team of mighty heroes to save the domain from anarchy. With a halberd forged by the hands of the otherworldly and all knowing, he sliced through the darkness and summoned the first bolt of lightning to illuminate the world. All would know him forever more as the first king of Knighton, King Augustin Halbert.

Centuries later, a horrid blizzard chased many hundreds of civilians out of their farmlands into the heart of the kingdom, Knightonia. With the city’s light disabled and no hope of restoring power to its network, the king of the era guided dozens of traveling caravans and families into the palace with only a measly candle to light the way. Many other households would follow in his footsteps, illuminating the grand city in candlelight for all the lost and unfortunate to find. On this day in the year 438, the first Candle Festival was held within the palace walls, and King Oddys Halbert would be remembered for ever more.

In the year 846, two monsters arose from the deepest pits of darkness and heartlessly attacked the good people of Knighton, one a fearless fey and the other a power hungry necromancer. Shadows fell on the bright land once more, and monsters prowled the earth in search of easy prey. But against all odds, the king and his loyal knights marched to battle and — with the help of the magnificent Wizards’ Council — vanquished both foes. The fey was banished to a realm of nothingness by the power of the king’s unbreakable sword Techcalibur, and the necromancer was destroyed by the compassion and power of the great wizard Merlok. Even today, the people preach the legendary battles in their movies and plays, reciting the glory of Merlok and the honor of King Arthus Halbert.

If only Macy could live up to that legacy…

okay so like what are y'alls ideas/hcs for why knighton is to advanced in tech but not socially?

I mean, king halbert is considered different for not marring a nobel or other royal when like Hama's cousin is a mayor of a town meaning that like her family wasn't really a "commoner" or "peasant" because they probably had some poltical power or general influnce if one of their daughters was able to become a mayor despite knightons slightly sexist beliefs.

I think they probably just had some tech descovery through magic like 5 generations ago which eventually got to the point it was able to support itself without magic.

but like monsters havent been seen in only 100 years which is like 2 generations which is too short of a time for most of the wizards to die and for tech to advance that fast. and we know tech didn't exist when merlok was out here fighting monstrox because he litterly says a line about how in his time they didn't have all these fancy velchies, only magic and knights.

so like when did this all happen????

NEXOCEMBER 2023 DRABBLE - DAY 01 : ROYAL

As my contribution for NEXO KNIGHTS, lemme give you drabbles for joining NEXOCEMBER. I'll try to do all prompts but yeah, God only can decide (LOL) Also English is not my main language so yeah...

Set during Season 1 and 2. Not Beta Read, No Warning, only a bit Angst that turns into Fluff

Being a royal meant you must bear the responsibilities for the kingdom. The Halberts ruled Knighton since their first generations, and now, Knighton was ruled by King Eggred Halbert along with the queen, Hammerin Halbert. And they had the sole heir, Macy Halbert.

Macy Halbert always dreamed to be a knight, to follow her mother's pathway before she became the queen, to swing her mace fiercely and protect Knighton with her own determination. From beginning, she attended Knights' Academy and even determined herself to get a shield, joining other four knights to be NEXO KNIGHTS.

But Macy sometimes thought that her royal lineage was the one who disturbed her dream to be a knight. Why? Because she's a princess, she used to act gracefully, sat in throne, wore dress, and training to be the next heir of Knighton, not wore an armor, swinging mace around the enemy, act fiercefully and walking around Knighton to defeat enemies in order to protect the realm.

This often led Macy to arguments with her father, Macy with her dream and King Halbert with his order to continue Halbert's legacy as royal family. This day was no different.

"I want to be a knight, Dad. This is was I meant to be. I tried so hard so I could protect the realm that you ruled!"

King Halbert's mousthache twitched, "You was born as a royal family, Macy. You must understand that and you must start to act like a royal family, Macy Halbert!"

Ugh, Macy wanted to smash that statement. She pleaded her mother but no answer, only told Macy to understand each other. But like usual, that ended with Macy ran away and deafening the King's shouting.

Walking toward the aisle, she looked at some photos, ranged from old to new. The first king who ruled Knighton, King Augustin Halbert, until the current king, King Eggred Halbert. Macy wondered, if someday her photo would be put on the wall like the previous ruler if she became the Queen.

But as previously stated, being a royalty meant must bear reponsibilities toward the people. Macy sighed, she stared at a family tree, the Halbert Royalty family tree. She want to puke of her own photo there, she that wore dress and smiled at camera.

After steadied her breath, she rushed outside the castle. But just before she exit the main gate, some monsters attacked the gate. This left Macy steaded her mace, swinging to every direction and make the monsters thrown out.

Jut at the bottom of her eye, she saw a gigantic lava monsters entered the castle, targeting The King and Queen. Making Macy had no choice but rushing to the castle because that was really chaotic.

The gigantic lava monster successfully entered the main castle and was face to face with The King and Queen. Just because an attack was given, a mace was thrown to the monster's head, knocking it out. Macy took back her thrown mace and steadied herself, before she asked Ava to prepared a Nexo Power.

After some beeping and order from Merlok 2.0., she raised her shield and golden enveloped the metal, making her easier to defeat the monsters. Some swingings later and all monsters turned into dust and vanished to somewhere. She made sure there's no more monsters left and pulled her visors.

She heard The King's clap, "You did well, my daughter..." He continued, "You know, dear, you did your best."

Macy asked, "Yeah... I know, I'm failed to be a princess. I admit that," Oh Merlin's mustache, why she turned so pessimistic?

The King smiled, "No, you did your best. You may not act like a fully princess. But sometimes I think, no matter you are, you are still a Halbert. A Halbert was not only to rule, but the truly essence of Halbert is to give their grace to protect Knighton. I want to try to accept you as my dear daughter, Macy Halbert, that have a dream to protect Knighton in her own way. Your destiny as a princess maybe still bounded to your blood, but you're still learning. I just don't want to leave Knighton unruled, and Halbert Royalty was the one who carry the legacy for thousand years. I accept you as a NEXO KNIGHTS and my daughter, but I don't want you to forget that one day you'll rule this kingdom."

Macy and King Halbert stared at each other, Macy then replied, "Ugh... I hate sometimes for being a royal family, Dad, because what you said before. But I can't help it too, that I realised that I'll be future queen. Can I still be a knight when I'm a queen? I can't help but hate it sometimes, but when I see you and Mom, I realise that I MAYBE still can be a knight while ruling the kingdom as a queen. I just want to follow my dream, and maybe that can be true... Just not a sparkling dress please, I don't like it."

Macy and King Halbert began to laugh. They hugged each other. "No matter what, I'll support your dream, dear pumpkin. We'll slowly learning to understand each other, okay?" he mumbled. Macy replied, "Thanks, Dad..."

From afar, The Queen smiled. She knew, that every obstacles will be solved, and no matter how hard the problem was, Halbert Family always had each other, supporting them no matter what...

Okay, so I don't know what possesed me. I just want to spill out feelings and I think my brain a bit out of order because of that dang strong Americano. It a bit inspired by Ena Shinonome from PROSEKA because as I remembered in N25 Main Story, Ena is implied craved validations that she put effort in art but yeah, it doesn't been appreciated by her father. I want to make that Macy tried hard to be a knight so she could protect Knighton but her father not fully agrees, and slowly things got better and acceptance ensues. It means I also took inspired by 'Twilight Light' song that played in PROSEKA Nightcord at 25:00 Worldlink Event.

Anyway, feedbacks welcome and Happy Nexocember! (Even I realized it's late a day in my timezone)

Look, do I like the whole Wanda/Ruina reveal? Yeah. But I like star wars so that's not surprising.

But I find her whole plan very conditional - what if Merlok had told Clay the truth? (She knows her brother ig so maybe that's why she knew Clay wouldn't have been told but still!)

What if when Clay confronted Merlok about his parentage Merlok revealed their relationship? Clay would know his magic isn't what is making him evil simply because his mom is evil - they might have even investigated more, tried to replicate that cleansing spell or whatever. Merlok's jump to conclusion frustrated me bc his sister was obviously affected by sth with the whole black cracks spreading and glowing yellow eyes and he never once thought that Clay might be experiencing something similar. Like he was under mood-altering spells or sth? No, it was immediately, his magic is what's making him evil - like... no??? Why would something that has always been a part of him be changing him unless it's due to an outside reason

Ruina was damn clever bc she knew her enemies intimately - she knew of Clay's strong moral codex and that once all the anger died down he would remove himself from the equation simply because he already did that once before. The whole desert seclusion thing - she knew about that and she planned accordingly. Like yes, props to that. Anger him enough to become a liability in his own eyes and he will be off the chessboard

But how did she know if the knowledge of their relationship would be enough to push him overboard?? He might have pulled a Luke and decided that their relation won't dictate his future! That the powers they share don't mean that he will repeat her mistakes! He might have seeked alternative methods of control.

Did she base everything on his reckless decision-making? Did she think that Merlok wouldn't be able to talk some sense into him? I mean yes. They needed to revert him back to human and what better way than the whole to unresponsive stone and then breaking free.

But after he broke free why didn't he think he was evil??? Why did he just think everything was okay?!

...this became a rant and I'm sorry. But still. Merlok should have done more. Just saying
