i just wanna say they're so clearly upping the ante for sonic prime s2. the animation quality went UP.

not to say it was bad before! it was good from the start of the show!! flawed yes, don't think we didn't see a plant appear in the jungle just to get ripped away a second later. but was it bad? no!!

the quality of some shots in the first season was just incredible. like look at these three for example

the fire on the robots? that's almost photorealistic (kind of like the fire in the cinematic bits of sonic 06, nice touch that it looks like a sonic video game lol)!!

the background and lighting? that's BEAUTIFUL. the motion blur and the grey-purple tint from the sky just fjdj so pretty

and every time i watch thorn drag the shard behind her in her hammer just firing trees up at sonic while he spin dashes to dodge?? that lighting??? HELLO???

s2e1 had a very limited amount of backgrounds: leaning against a portal, the shatterspace, and only one universe which is basically just a greyer version of green hill and missing the prism. and somehow with so little traveled compared to s1 eps, the premiere of s2 manages to have the most breathtaking animation and lighting i've seen out of a sonic show.

these two shots?!! hello?!! maybe it's just seeing it from shadows perspective instead of sonics, but this feels UNREAL compared to the several other times they saw each other like this in s1. especially with how the characters are actually both visible to the viewer rather than garbled glitching and silhouettes. and the lighting on them both is phenomenal.

also, the way every background in this part of the ep managed to look so faded. like somehow even the bubbles which are reflecting light and don't actually have color feel like ghosts. how was this done bro

AND THE SHATTERSPACE BACKGROUNDS. THE LIGHTING IS PHENOMENAL IN ANY SHATTERSPACE SCENE IM SO MAD IT WAS BARELY SHOWN IN S1 IM HAPPY WE CAN FINALLY SEE IT IN FULL

backgrounds aside the animation was incredible too, every frame was full of emotion

this facial expression shadow has here? this only exists for a bit and then he goes back to just being motion blur and glow absolutely seamlessly. same goes for sonics movement. to transition between individual frames and motion blur with sfx having it feel real to these characters?? that's impressive.

every fight scene between the two is so well done. balancing speed and strength is hard to do in animation, especially when the characters are even or close to even in one or both of those. shadow knocking sonic off a cliff felt like a tackle and not a push. sonic trying to get up from underwater as shadow pins him down? that seemed real as the pose felt like he was pinning him down and didn't just have his hand there..

and finally the game pov-styled shot here. i have no words.

Hmm....not really something I ever really thought about. Growing up, I wasn't super into robots. Probably because Mecha Godzilla scarred me a little watching him hurt Goji and friends really bad. (Also wasn't until Portal 2 where I started to appreciate robot characters a little more.)

But I'd have to say all I'd want (if it counts as a module) is a laser eye like Kano.

Cooking made easy. And if I don't like someone? Melt their face off. Actually, I probably shouldn't even be allowed to have this power because I've been told that I have this death stare. Lol

Some Recent Art (Wakfu Fan OCs)

Some recent doodles on my Wakfu OCs + info dumping about them lol. Mostly gonna be focusing on my main OC Solaris (They/She) but some of my other OCs are gonna show up too.

This is Solaris!! They're a Xelor which are basically lowkey time wizards (but they can have other abilities like being able to float and manipulate Wakfu - the game's magic source - into temporary weapons). Although most Xelors are, like, smart and strategic with most of the class focusing on strategy, they're like super stupid and honestly more Iop-ish (basically the game's warrior class) than a Xelor but they don't gaf lol.

Despite the game literally focusing on combat, Solaris takes after me whenever I play the game (aka they can't fight for shit). Because their class focuses on strategy which is something they almost never do, they're usually the one party member that is sorta there to have fun and then die 2 seconds later.

Solaris also loves cats!! That's the whole reason why they have the mechanical ears and tail. Both are mostly for looks but the tail is also used for balance cuz Solaris is a bit of a klutz lol.

In this drawing they're holding Fadezo's first cat - Shitface. Even though Fadezo has like a billion cats in his possession, Shitface was the one Solaris connected to the most and she insists to take care of them whenever given the chance (though Shitface lives up to their name and is kind of a dick to Solaris lol).

The character introduced here is the one I was talking about earlier - Fadezo! He's the first character I created in the Wakfu game (and is also my first Wakfu OC) and he's sort of like the brains of the party next to Ria. He tries to take the game and his class seriously but he does enjoy messing around sometimes.

Oh also this drawing is more of an example of Solaris' behavior when it comes to combat lol. She's the type to just run right back into a dungeon after her health regenerates (or if she loses enough she just does some side quests to level up to unspeakable levels and then beat the dungeon in like 3 hits lol).

Like any other version of my sona, Solaris only has one eye that actually works but I decided to put the other eye to something that fits a Xelor and made it a clock! Canonically it only really moves when Solaris is casting spells but I like to imagine that in some reality the clock is also used as a makeshift watch.

The character next to her is named Ari! She's Ria's sister and is an Eliatrope (basically she can make portals and stuff lol). She's the life of the group and is a lot more lighthearted than everyone else - sort of like Solaris except she's actually decent at combat and uses her high energy to her advantage.

So fun fact! Solaris actually has a face under that mask lol. I haven't really thought of what it looked like but I think I'd like to just keep it up to imagination. I just imagine that whatever her face looks like Ria would probably be an asshat about it (aka the Dream face reveal "HES UGLY" reference lol).

Also the character introduced here is named Ari! She's Ria's sister and is sort of the more reasonable/the brains of the party. If it wasn't a group of friends she'd probably be the leader because of her maturity (despite her being the same age as Ari). She's a dragon but usually takes a more humanoid form because it's like way more convenient than being a giant dragon 24/7.

To end off this post, I have a quick doodle of the types of robotics Solaris would make!! Despite her not being the smartest, she's pretty good at creating little Wakfu-powered robots like the Sinistro (a small robotic owl that can be summoned in game). Solaris would spend most of her free time creating and working on making a fully functional robotic cat (but she finds real cats to be more fun to be around).

That's about all!! If anyone got this far tysm for reading actually I love developing and writing about my characters. I'm probably gonna post pretty frequently but I have like 50 billion OCs with 50 billion different stories so it'll probably take a minute to see the same OC twice (however, Solaris is part of the different versions of my sona so you might see her around more often)!

OC-tober Day 19: Inspiration

I've got a lot of fun tech inspirations for each of my robots. Each of the bots has a different purpose and was built at different times, so I try to use real technology to demonstrate that.

Nautiloid is named after and inspired by EVNautilus, a real deep-sea research vessel that does livestreams! Though, Naut looks nothing like that fancy box. I did try to make it more practical and simple looking; this is a bot meant for actual science. Their eyes are inspired by both those dome-shaped security cameras and also seal eyes, especially the baikal seal. I imagine their vision is lower-quality than the other two, but they've got that 300-degree vision like a prey animal.

Xiphoid is mainly inspired by that sleek modern tech look, think Apple products. This also fits with their doctor vibe, there's lots of medical robots nowadays with that same fancy look, and Xiph's basically an overcomplicated set of robotic arms. Their eyes are based on expensive digital cameras, complete with apertures (portal reference lol) and shutters. Then I went and made them more like slit pupils like a snake, to match with their Medusa hair.

A little bonus, for their cyborg design I gave them see-through sections like that clear electronics craze back in the day.

Viroid is. A virus. So they've got all the Matrix hacker cyberpunk inspo. That includes the screen eye, where they get to display little emotes. I was most inspired by like protogens (that's right, even this one's got furry influences) and other screen-faced robots. It's a popular choice, extra sci-fi feel.

Other than that, I just tried to make Vi look as emo as possible. They don't have any "real" or "practical" tech inspirations, I think it makes them look extra out-of-place. This thing's only job is to look cool af.

__Moonylight__: Heeeeey actually since I've been following "The Polar Star" story from the beginning I thought it would be fun to write a one-shot where my OCs Tyler/Fanta and Tim/Masky arrive in the base thanks to the power of Fanta and meet the Autobots, Skyfire and Starscream at the very beginning of the story and what a racket it could be XD! (Wattpad request)

It would be in chapter 12: When Starscream and the others return to base right after Shockwave's attack and Star smashes his face XD And if Tyler and Tim appear literally in the middle of the base lol. Because one of their missions went wrong and Tyler thought that teleporting to this universe would give them some safety before going home. (request on Wattpad)

The Autobots, Starscream, and Skyfire were back at base, with plenty of energon. They hadn't yet talk about their encounter with Shockwave, who was alive and well, and the scientist's altercation with the Seeker. The children quickly approached them when they saw them, and Miko asked:

"Are you okay?

- Yes don't worry. reassured Bulkhead.

- What happened?

- Well… it's good question…

- Starscream smashed Shockwave! Bumblebee beeped.

- Eh?! Seriously?!" wondered the wrecker, while the scout nodded in the affirmative.

The Japanese girl frowned a little, mainly because she hadn't understood what the yellow car had said, and she wanted to know!

"Who is Shockwave? Raf asked.

- A psycopath." Starscream replied as he walked past them as he and Ratchet made their way to the medical bay.

Skyfire accompanied his conjux, after giving the children a light bow, then Jack turned to Bulkhead and Bumblebee, before asking:

"Isn't that the case with all Decepticons?

- Hey! Take back what you said! You little brat! Or I'll crush you! the Seeker got angry.

- Star… the shuttle intervened, with a disappointed look.

-…”

Arcee didn't say anything to that remark, but her eyes spoke for her. Optimus sighed softly, not really seeing any improvement in the Autobots' interactions with the jet...

Just then a portal suddenly appeared in the middle of the base, and everyone turned towards it, blasters activated! Starscream stood in front of his conjux, wings high! Even handcuffed he wasn't going to let anyone hurt Skyfire!

The robots quickly lowered their weapons, as they faced two strange little humans. One had ginger hairs, and had animal ears on his head. The other was slightly taller than his partner, and with brown hairs. He wore a strange white and black mask. The two didn't seem to notice the robots, and the redhead laughed.

“You see Masky! Problem solved! Another world, no more danger! We just have to wait quietly until it calms down!

- It's a bit your fault if we find ourselves in this situation, I'll remind you, Fanta…

- Hooo! You always have to exag-"

The two "humans" eventually saw the Transformers, and there was a long moment when neither of them said a word. The silence grew heavier and heavier, until Bulkhead said:

“Uh… Hi?

- Ooh! Daaaamn! They talk, Masky! They taaaalk!!! yelled the one called Fanta, shaking Masky all over the place.

- Let me go, I'm going to vomit!" cried out the masked one.

Starscream and Skyfire looked at each other with a hint of confusion, then the shuttle decided to go towards the newcomers, much to the Seeker's shock.

“Sky! exclaimed the jet. Don't go! You don't even know if these things are dangerous!

- If they had wanted to be hostile to us, they would have attacked us already. answered his conjux.

- They literally teleported in the middle of the base!"

The big white robot knelt in front of Fanta and Masky, and smiled:

“Hello, I'm Skyfire.

- I'm Fanta!" smiled the half-wolf.

The masked one slapped the back of his partner head, and exclaimed:

“Don't introduce yourself to the first comer! You don't even know who he is, or if he's dangerous!"

Bulkhead laughed a little, and looked at Starscream, before saying:

“It's funny, he reminds me of someone.

- Hey!" the Seeker said indignantly.

The redhead rubbed his head, then replied:

“Well, I know who it is, he's named Skyfire. He just told me.

- No, but you- started Masky.

- And then look at his face, he wouldn't even hurt a fly!"

The older one made a face palm and sighed heavily. Bumblebee approached in turn, and said:

“Hello, I'm Bumblebee!"

Fanta gave a nervous smile, and blinked several times, clearly indicating that he didn't understand anything.

"Um... Hello... Beepbebeep?" »

The scout looked a little vexed, and Raf moved closer to intervene.

“He said his name was Bumblebee.

- Ooh! I also thought it was weird Beepbebeep for a name!"

The bespectacled boy laughed at that, and Jack and Miko were quick to approach in turn, curiosity quickly overcoming mistrust. Optimus came over to them as well, and gently greeted the newcomers. The only ones still back were Arcee, Ratchet and Starscream, who gave their trust very hardly.

The Seeker had his wings tight behind his back, while the proximity of his conjux to these potential enemies only made him anxious every second... The Japanese girl turned to the three remaining robots, and said:

"So what?! Aren't you coming to introduce yourself?!

- To do what? Arcee asked, crossing her arms.

- I don't see the point… answered the jet, frowning, wings high.

- Who knows where they come from and what scrap they can carry around with them…! the doctor hissed suspiciously.

- That's not very nice… Fanta pouted.

- Yeah, it's true. nodded Jack. It's not nice. Plus, they don't look dangerous.

- Don't looking dangerous, doesn't mean not being dangereous! replied the ambulance. Do you want me to remind you of the scraplets episode, or is it fine?

- It was an accident… murmured Raf.

- Don't worry, we'll be leaving soon anyway. Masky interjected. We just wait for things to calm down in our world, then we go back."

There was a silence, before Starscream repeated:

"Your world?

- Yeah? replied the masked one, incredulous. Our universe if you prefer.

- Great! They literally come from another universe!" the Seeker exclaimed sarcastically.

Skyfire's gaze shone with clear interest, and leaned a little closer to Masky, before asking:

"Oh! Can you tell me about your world?! How did it looks like! Is it the same as here or different?! Besides, now that I'm wondering, how did you get here? Are you able to travel between universes?

- I confess that it intrigues me too. said Ratchet, who had wasted no time closing in after the masked human's statement.

- Why are you different from the humans we see here? Bumblebee beeped.

- It's true that it's intriguing. Are there a lot of masked people and half-wolves in your world? added Raf.

- I want to know too! joined Jack.

- F- Fanta! Help!" Masky exclaimed, but his companion had already walked away with Miko, to join the two suspicious robots.

The half-wolf boy smiled broadly at Arcee and Starscream, and gave them a kind wave, before exclaiming:

"Hi ! I'm Fanta! And you?!"

The motorcycle pretended to look away, while the Seeker replied:

“Why should we tell you?!

- Aren't you tired of being mean?! Miko retorted.

- I just don't want to answer him!

- Well, I'll answer for you then!

- No!

- I do what I want!

- …!

- The stubborn one is Arcee, and the unpleasant one is Starscream!

- Hi… finally said the warrior.

- Hm… grumbled the jet.

- Ah well, you know how to say hello in fact, it's cool! Fanta laughed.

- …

- If you have any questions don't hesitate, I would be happy to answer them! All you have to do is ask a question and answer!

- I don't want to…

 - I begin!

- …

- What are you exactly?! Are you a new form of artificial intelligence?

- Ha! As if humans would ever be able to build one of us!

- The MECH almost succeeded. Miko reminded.

- … Shut up…

- What is MECH? asked the half-wolf boy.

- Hey! It's up to us to ask a question now!

- You haven't answered my first question yet!

- We are Transformers. Arcee replied. Most are from Cybertron, and I'm from Caminus.

- Are these planets?

- Yes.

- That's cool ! You are actually aliens! Hey, Masky, aliens exist!

- Help me…" only answered Masky from afar.

But his companion quickly turned his attention to the others.

“Our turn now! Starscream exclaimed.

- I'm listening to you! Fanta smiled.

- What are you? You don't look 100% human! Are you another species?

- We are creepypastas!"

The Seeker and the warrior looked at each other in confusion, then the jet said:

"Isn't 'pastas' a terrestrial food?

- Well yes, normally… confirmed the motorbike.

- No, but not that kind of pastas! Miko intervened. Anyway, I'm surprised, I didn't think there would be a world where you really existed! This is so cool!

- You really think so?! smiled the redhead.

- Yeah absolutely! But, what are your abilities?! Do you have the skills of a wolf?! Can you see in the dark?! Do you transform during the full moon?!

- I'm not a werewolf! Ha! Ha! Ha!"

The two robots watched the whole conversation from afar, without understanding a single word of what they were saying. Masky on his side answered the lot of questions as best he could, especially from Skyfire who was the most curious. The masked boy had come to enjoy answering it, having come to feel that it was more due to curiosity than mistrust.

For their part Miko and Fanta moved away a little, after taking two, three objects lying around on Ratchet's desk, accompanied by the Seeker. The redhead told them he needed help building a weapon, and the Japanese girl quickly replied that since the jet was a former scientist, he might be able to help him.

Ratchet moved away from the first human a bit, and turned to see what the others were doing. He cried out as he saw Miko and Fanta building something way too close to a weapon for his liking, while being supervised by the Seeker, who was clearly encouraging them in their proceedings.

“Your gun will not work like that, you have to take that too. said the jet, handing another object found on the ambulance desk.

- Hey! What do you think you're doing here?! cried out the doctor.

- Damn ! We're spoted! exclaimed the Japanese girl.

- No, but it's my material! I needed that! Why didn't you arrest them, Arcee?!

- I didn't think they were serious!" replied the latter.

The trio quickly scattered, while they were all chased a bit by an enraged Ratchet! Fanta slung the weapon, and replied:

“Sorry, but Masky and I are going to need it for our mission!"

The masked boy nodded, then said:

“Anyway, we're going to have to go, we can't stay longer.

- Oooh… but why? pouted Miko.

- Nothing prevents you from staying a bit. added Skyfire.

- So that they can steal my material again?! Ratchet get angry. No way!

- Don't listen to him. laughed Bulkhead.

- If we can do other science projects, I'm not against keeping them. added Starscream.

- There's no way we're giving him the opportunity to have access to a weapon! Arcee objected.

- Scrap…

- He's not even hiding anymore!

- Just kidding! Primus, what humor!"

Fanta laughed at this, then said:

"Slender will be worried if we don't come back! And then, we have two or three assholes to destroy!

- Take care. said Optimus.

- Don't worry! See you soon!"

Particles began to swirl around the two creepypastas, and before they disappeared, Miko asked:

"We'll see each other again, do you think?!

- Of course ! After all, I know the way now!" Fanta answered with a wink.

Masky waves goodbye to them, and the duo ends up completely disappearing, as if they had never existed. In the end, the only evidence of this strange encounter was Ratchet's missing material.

I just realized something...

So far in Season 3, we've met three of the new human characters: Dr. Jan, Ally, and Jess. I just noticed that Marcy actually has a few things in common with them:

Like Marcy, Dr. Jan is big into history.

Like Marcy, Ally and Jess invent stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next humans we meet also have something in common with Marcy. Maybe part of the series' ending will involve Marcy making friends with the humans that helped Anne and help her realize that she's not an outsider after all.

After everything that had happened, Sasha Waybright had never expected her life to start taking a turn for the better.

It had been two whole months since Sasha and Grime attempted (and failed) to overthrow King Andrias, who revealed himself to be a tyrant bent on conquering multiple worlds, starting with Earth. Two whole months since Marcy confessed to having stranded them on Amphibia intentionally out of the fear of losing them. Two whole months since Anne activated her powers, thinking she’d lost Sprig, and attacked Andrias. Two whole months since Anne and her frog family, the Plantars, fled into the portal for Earth.

Two whole months since Anne and Sasha both had to watch Marcy get stabbed by that tyrant, an apology barely escaping her lips.

Since that day, Sasha and Grime had taken refuge in Wartwood, and started a new and improved rebellion, consisting of not just toads, but also the frogs and newts as well. Sasha herself had begun trying to be a better person, getting to know the town better, who also came to know her better. She had befriended Ivy Sundew, the girlfriend of Sprig Plantar, whom Sasha had tried to kill that day at Toad Tower (the subject was still awkward for the both of them). She had protected them from Andrias’ robots, but they helped fight too sometimes. She had even managed to make up with Percy and Braddock, after some tough conversations.

Sasha had come to love Wartwood. It was funny, really. Before, she had only seen the town and its people as something to rule over, to control. But now, it felt like a home, a real home, one where she could be loved, cared for, and understood, unlike her home and parents back on Earth, who never bothered to listen to her.

One fine afternoon however, Sasha was heading back to the Plantars’ house to check up on Bessie and MicroAngelo, the two snails of the farm, when suddenly someone yelled “AMBUSH!” and tackled Sasha to the ground. She didn’t need to look up to know that it was her friend Ivy.

“Ha! Gotcha again!” Ivy exclaimed, as Sasha sat up, rolling her eyes with a smile.

“Yeah, you sure did,” Sasha chuckled, before asking, “So, uh, what’s gotten you so excited today kid?”

“Oh, you are NOT gonna believe this,” Ivy said, bouncing up and down as Sasha giggled at the sight. What she heard next, though, made her freeze.

“Anne’s back!”

Sasha blinked once, trying to understand if she had just heard her correctly. “Wait, what? What do you mean she’s back? W-what are you talking about?”

“I said Anne’s back, genius,” Ivy replied, rolling her eyes, unaware of the fear in Sasha’s voice. “One of our spies spotted her and the Plantars in a nearby village, northeast of Wartwood. Should be about a few hours before she arrives, which will give us enough time to throw a Welcome-Back PARTYYYY!” she whooped, stretching the last word. Her smile faded when she saw the look on Sasha’s face. “Uh…Sasha? You ok?”

Sasha didn’t respond, her mind too clouded with fear and dread of her inevitable reunion with Anne, especially after what had happened the last time the two were together. Memories flashed, her first fight with Anne at Toad Tower, when she let go of Anne’s hand, her second fight with Anne on the Newtopian gates after her second betrayal, where she was more furious and untrusting than ever, and refused to listen to her warnings about Andrias. Her words echoed in her head, words that had opened her eyes ever since.

“You’re a horrible person, Sasha, and I’m DONE being friends with you!”

She’ll be angry if she sees me. She’ll think I’m hurting them, and she’ll try to kill me. I can’t show my face to her. I can’t. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I-

“I can’t,” Sasha whispered, and with that, she ran off towards the barn, much to Ivy’s surprise and concern, past Grime who never got the chance to welcome her back, and locked herself in.

Ivy ran after Sasha, concerned for the blonde, as it wasn’t normal for her to just run like that (She had done that before when she first returned to Wartwood, but still). She had always known that Sasha would be nervous about seeing Anne again, provided that things between them were rough, but she didn’t think she would be THAT scared.

She headed towards the barn, where she found Captain Grime, the toad that Sasha served, knocking on the door, asking her to let him in. She ran up, gave Grime a quick wave, and knocked.

“Sasha?” she called. “Are you in there?” No response, except for a few audible whimpers and sobs, which showed just how stressed the blonde was.

She looked towards Grime. “Alright, old toad. On the count of three, we break in. Ready?”

“I’m not that old, but fine,” Grime grumbled as he prepared his hammer.

“One…two…THREE!”

Their strength combined, the two broke the door to the barn (Hop Pop was going to give them an earful for that) and found Bessie and MicroAngelo, who nodded their heads towards where Sasha was. But they were NOT ready for the sight that awaited them: Sasha cowering in the corner of the barn , hugging her knees, and scratching at the scars that littered her arms, which had come from battling hordes of robots sent after her.

“She…here…too soon…can’t…” she whimpered as she continued to scratch at the scars, making them even worse.

Can’t Show My Face (WIP)

Hey, everyone! I have officially started writing my very first fanfic. It’s for this awesome show called Amphibia (which you should TOTALLY go check out by the way) and this fanfic focuses on everyone’s favorite blonde, Sasha Waybright herself! This is a small WIP, because I wanted to share what I’ve written so far! It’s my first one, so it might not be great, but let me know what you think!

After everything that had happened, Sasha Waybright had never expected her life to start taking a turn for the better.

It had been two whole months since Sasha and Grime attempted (and failed) to overthrow King Andrias, who revealed himself to be a tyrant hellbent on conquering multiple worlds, starting with Earth. Two whole months since Marcy confessed to having stranded them on Amphibia on purpose out of the fear of losing them. Two whole months since Anne activated her powers, thinking she’d lost Sprig, and attacked Andrias, two whole months since Anne and her frog family, the Plantars, fled into the portal for Earth.

Two whole months since Anne and Sasha both had to watch Marcy get stabbed by that tyrant, an apology barely escaping her lips.

Since that day, Sasha and Grime had taken refuge in Wartwood, and started a new and improved rebellion, consisting of not just toads, but also the frogs and newts as well. Sasha herself had begun trying to be a better person, getting to know the town better, who also came to know her better. She had befriended Ivy Sundew, the girlfriend of Sprig Plantar, whom Sasha had tried to kill that day at Toad Tower (the subject was still awkward for the both of them). She had protected them from Andrias’s robots, but they helped fight too sometimes. She had even managed to make up with Percy and Braddock, after some tough conversations.

Sasha had come to love Wartwood. It was funny, really. Before, she had only seen the town and its people as something to rule over, to control. But now, it felt like a home, a real home, one where she could be loved, cared for, and understood, unlike her home and parents back on Earth, who never bothered to listen to her.

One fine afternoon however, Sasha was heading back to the Plantars’ house to check up on Bessie and MicroAngelo, the two snails of the farm, when suddenly someone yelled “AMBUSH!” and tackled Sasha to the ground. She didn’t need to look up to know that it was her friend Ivy.

“Ha! Gotcha again!” Ivy exclaimed, as Sasha sat up, rolling her eyes with a smile.

“Yeah, you sure did,” Sasha chuckled, before asking, “So, uh, what’s gotten you so excited today kid?”

“Oh, you are NOT gonna believe this,” Ivy said, bouncing up and down as Sasha giggled at the sight. What she heard next, though, made her freeze.

“Anne’s back!”

Sasha blinked once, trying to understand if she had just heard her correctly. “Wait, what? What do you mean she’s back? W-what are you talking about?”

“I said Anne’s back, genius,” Ivy replied, rolling her eyes, unaware of the fear in Sasha’s voice. “One of our spies spotted her and the Plantars in a nearby village, northeast of Wartwood. Should be about a few hours before she arrives, which will give us enough time to throw a Welcome-Back PARTYYYY!” she whooped, stretching the last word. Her smile faded when she saw the look on Sasha’s face. “Uh…Sasha? You ok?”

Sasha didn’t respond, her mind to clouded with fear and dread of her inevitable reunion with Anne, after what had happened the last time the two were together. Memories flashed, her first fight with Anne at Toad Tower, when she let go of Anne’s hand, thinking she was better off without her, her second fight with Anne on the Newtopian gates after her second betrayal, where she was more furious and untrusting than ever, and refused to listen to her warnings about Andrias. Her words echoed in her head, words that had opened her eyes ever since.

“You’re a horrible person, Sasha, and I’m DONE being friends with you!”

She’ll be angry if she sees me. She’ll think I’m hurting them, and she’ll try to kill me. I can’t show my face to her. I can’t. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t, I-

“I can’t,” Sasha whispered, and with that, she ran off towards the barn, much to Ivy’s surprise and concern, past Grime who never got the chance to welcome her back, and locked herself in.
