Creators: here are two siblings who have been pitted against eachother by their parents. Each had been given the "favour" of a parent but this attention isn't actually healthy or good and damages the person "favoured" as much as it successfully damaged the relationship of the siblings who love each other as best they can but don't know how to have a healthy relationship due to their upbringing. This leads to a lot of conflict and emotional angst in the narrative.
The Audience: right so the sibling who is less of a main character is irredeemably evil. Probably since birth. Got it.

To anyone complaining about how quickly Vi forgave Caitlyn:
Cait's story in season 2 is one Vi's seen before.
Cait's lost a parent. She feels responsible for it, and in her lowest moment, someone much more powerful comes along with all their ill intentions to take her under their wing and prey on her vulnerability. They use her as a weapon by feeding into her fears and her desire for affection, for comfort.
"You're the one acting like her" isn't a jab, it's the truth. And if there's one thing Vi will always do, it's see the good left in her sister.
So when the same thing happens to Cait, why shouldn't she see the good in her too?

thinking about how Jason had a hard childhood before his parents died
how Bruce and Dick had fairly good childhoods until their parents died
like the reason Bruce became Batman was that his parents died, that is his trauma that changed his life. If that hadnt happened he could have been a normal (incredibly wealthy) man...
Dick had loving parents, he loved the circus and he loves performing and he would've kept doing so if his parents had not been killed, but thats the thing that pushed him into being a vigilante.
Jason however.... he grew up poor and while his parents loved him they still struggled, his father in gangs and prison, his mother with a drug addiction or sick (depending on timeline), he was going to have trauma from childhood no matter what. he never had the chance to be a person like the others.
I just think the difference between them is striking but i cant put it in words exactly how

welcome to another edition of i shouldn’t be thinking of my fic right now, but another brainworm just found its way into my head because apparently the first one is just a precursor for more editions ( ͒•·̫|
today’s edition is still peter parker in gotham, except jason isn’t the one who knew him first. nor does this involve my typical jason-batfam knowledge transfer. nor does peter first “manifest” in gotham.
rather, what if some other justice league member finds him first? and, by some mishap/mundane situation or another, that particular jl member brings him to gotham with them?
the jl members i’m most familiar with (sans bruce) are clark, diana, and barry, so they’re the only ones i got scenarios for:
diana/wonder woman
it is my personal headcanon that aunt may is themyscira-born who left for one reason or another
or maybe bana-mighdall native
but, either way, amazonian
something tragic happens to aunt may (worst case scenario: death), which leaves peter without a guardian
diana steps up to care for him, in memory of/as favor for a dear friend
and ta-da~ that’s how peter ends up under her wing
one day, diana needs to go somewhere she can’t take peter along and needs someone to watch over him
and who else is the best choice if not the man with, like, ten kids and the most secured house?
that’s right: bruce/batman
so there peter is: in gotham, in the wayne manor, surrounded by people who can’t stop looking at him
and, worse, who don’t leave him tf alone
honestly peter is a little freaked
he’s just sitting there, desperately wishing for his aunt diana to come back asap
he’s not much of a prayer, but he’s literally praying to diana’s father zeus if he can help her finish whatever she’s doing quickly so she can come back for him asap
peter’s thoughts: aunt diana pick me up i’m scared (ಥ﹏ಥ) these people are weird (ಥ﹏ಥ)
meanwhile, batfam is under bruce’s orders to make peter feel at home and to keep him safe if they don’t wanna feel wonder woman’s wrath lmao
of course, they’re also working on figuring out why peter looks really familiar . . .
clark/superman
i actually thought of two scenarios for clark
first: peter is a new photographer intern for the daily planet, assigned to shadow either him, lois, or both
him and lois emotionally adopted him because why not? peter is a lovely kid, clumsiness and all
(planting seeds for maximum chaos)
as their intern, they tag him along when they’re out in the field
which includes the day they covered a story in gotham
of course, as countless of fanfics foretold, batfam is in chaos once they catch a glimpse of the intern in question
because why does he resemble two of them their eldest???
peter ends up taking a picture of all the wayne children present since they’re all gathered in one corner
clark eventually sends that photo to bruce, who frames and hangs it somewhere in the manor
none the wiser that peter took that photo mainly to point out to clark and lois that those people kept watching him while he was doing his job
(i’m sorry, but the thought of bruce having to fight lois for custody/visitation rights just made me laugh)
second: mama kent is the first one to take peter in
peter somehow crash lands near the kent farm
mama kent checks it out, sees him there, and gets reminded of the day clark came into their lives (even if he isn’t aboard a ship nor is he a baby)
the next time clark visits, there’s a child — teenager? — that’s helping his ma and pa around the house
and apparently the child/teenager in question is now enrolled in the same school he used to go to
clark is understandably flabbergasted
he’s wary of peter at first, but the latter grows on him eventually
not sure how he ends up bringing peter to gotham in this scenario, but trust that he somehow does
it’s highly likely that bruce is the first to know of peter from all the bats, and ergo the first one to investigate and connect the dots
whether he’s the one to break the news to the rest is debatable, though
barry/the flash
bear with me on this one because all my barry allen knowledge is from the early season’s of cw’s the flash
it’s not an amalgamation of different medias like for diana and clark, sadly
anyway . . . simply put: peter is part of team flash, as their biochemistry intern-turned-expert
he’s one of barry’s guy-in-the-chair, if you will
barry doesn’t usually need anyone else in his ear when he’s working with the league
but for the newest case, he does — and everyone votes for peter
or he insists to be picked, definitely one of those
for security reasons, he wears a domino mask before barry speeds them to the temporary base
he originally wanted a full-faced one, but caitlin said that’d be too much, so— there he is
unbeknownst to peter, he catches batman’s eyes
because — surprise, surprise — he resembles his first robin, especially with that domino mask on
peter, for a reason or another, ends up getting hurt during the mission
it’s not critical, thankfully, but it’s bad enough that speeding him back to central city will be dangerous
batman insists to treat him in the cave, which conveniently happens to be closer than the watch tower
barry agrees, mostly because there’s no other choice . . . and because he has to prioritize what’s best for his team’s beloved youngest
tl;dr: what if instead of manifesting directly in gotham, peter first appears somewhere else, where the jurisdiction belongs to a different justice league member? the same member who, by some fate or another, ends up taking him in and ultimately bring him to gotham?

The other thing that I think I would want in an Annabeth Wayne AU that I don't think I've seen so far is Bruce being absolutely pissed at Athena.
It was bad enough with Talia and Damian, but Athena is a literal god of wisdom who should know better AND he doesn't even have the "culpability" of having slept with her.
She one hundred percent saw Batman, tactician of the Justice League, was drawn in by her aspect of the Goddess of Strategy, and proceeded to create a child without his consent, a daughter who she didn't even raise before the child became a weapon.
And like whatever else, however fucked up Damian was by his own training to become a child-weapon, at least Talia loved Damian.
Whereas Athena loves Annabeth in the way a Goddess loves, not the way a Person loves, and I don't think Bruce, whose entire identity is so fixated on his relationship with his own parents, would recognize that as love at all.
And, like, Talia put Damian through a lot of shit. I think Bruce would be angry there too. But when push came to shove, she at least at some point brought him to Bruce because she thought it was in her son's best interests.
Athena actively lead Annabeth away from Bruce and into the streets at the age of seven, which Bruce would never see as in her best interest, whatever Athena's godly perspective is, however badly he reacted after Jason's death, even though he couldn't see (and dismissed the idea of) the spiders and the monsters. She was seven. In the streets of Gotham.
Athena let Annabeth fight a major role in two wars back to back without being there to train her or protect her or love her or even advise her. Athena advocated for the cold blooded murder of the other children who had actually tried to keep his daughter safe. Athena sent Annabeth against Arachne when Athena's children have universally died on that quest for a thousand years.
Athena let Bruce think he had gotten Annabeth killed because of his own inability to handle his grief. Let him think his daughter was dead or worse for years. Would have let him keep thinking that if the Fates didn't have other plans.
And just, in true fashion for all of my ideas on a PJO x DC crossover, everyone really comes out more traumatized than before. This includes Bruce.
Because now he wasn't just used unknowingly for a child just once, but twice. And in both cases he's going to have to live forever with the guilt of not having been able to protect his kids from what their other parent wanted to make of them
(On top of all the ways he has directly failed them and made any complexes worse, of course )
#bruce wayne#annabeth chase#annabeth wayne#athena#pjo x dcu#dcu x pjo#again I have to reiterate that I actually do think Athena loves her daughter#I just think that to a human a god's love is inevitably going to look cruel#because they don't and can't love in the same way#giving your child opportunity for Kleos and sending them to a teacher is a love to a goddess#whereas a human parent might never want their child to fight or suffer at all#and even with Bruce's whole Batman and Robin situation#he a) still felt guilt and went back and forth over it multiple times#and b) he was at least trying to guide them and accompanied them into the field and deliberately tried to give them whatever tools they#needed to be both moral and safe#Athena doesn't see a difference between what she did and Bruce's crusade but he absolutely doe#this post is obviously very much more Bruce's POV of course#Athena would have her own but I am biased#'love the way a goddess loves not the way a person loves' - but Rev aren't the gods people#Not fully#I don't think they can be; they're too vast#Behind their personalities they're all personification#so yes and no but not enough#as for bruce reacting badly after Jason's death#I generally don't think he *hurt* her which I've seen some choose to write based on him hitting Dick#but someone in fic wrote a HC that he blamed her at first bc she knew Jason was sneaking out and didn't say and I took that and ran with it#& after his initial outburst he freezes her out bc his anger scares him & he thinks keeping her at a distance will protect her from that#not knowing that she's already internalized that guilt AND already felt prior to this that Bruce was abandoning her in favor of being Batma

Very interesting to me that Abigail preferred Hannibal over Will, but Will had an emotional connection to her that Hannibal didn't - or at least not to the same extent.
I think maybe one day he could've found a stronger bond considering she had also killed and eaten people, but during the series she's really just a tool. Hannibal uses her to like... babytrap Will. And tbf it worked, Will didn't tell Jack what he knew when he discovered Abigail murdered that guy - if he was willing to cover for her, maybe eventually he'd cover for Hannibal too, the 3 of them too intrinsically tied for him to separate, I mean that's the trapping part. But she was just a means to an end, a relationship Hannibal nurtured for his own gain with Will....whereas Will really did view her as his daughter.
Very interesting to me...off-put by Will (especially towards the end of s1), but he had the most vested interest in her well-being out of the pair...

I just adore how human mark is written.
He establishes communication and the first thing he does is sit down and cry. He gets an email from his mom and reads it over and over again. His letter to Beck is telling him to tell Johansson how he feels, and his letter to Johansson is telling her to be less of a nerd. Like, we all know he's goofy and whatever, but it's that sentimentality that makes him such a compelling character. If he was just a smart goofball I don't think the reader would root for him quite this much, but he misses his crew and thinks about them all the time, he misses his mom and dad, he gets emotional over the first real hope of making it and finally communicating with another human being, and suddenly you understand why an entire planet is fighting to bring this one guy back to earth.

Mad At Yi Why Anon - Thanks for explaining! It makes more sense now lol. I never expected them to be grateful for being "saved," I'd just think it's certainly a choice for them to Most Mad at the only guy who wasn't going to let them rot. But if it's a "we need someone to blame" then that makes sense.
Even if he wasn’t gonna let them rot, he WAS gonna take them out with him had his True Ending Sacrifice gone as it had in the game. They don’t know this, this is just extra DoobYi characterization. But he wasn’t expecting to be alive, either tbh.
That said, he takes the public opinion of him and the Sols very seriously and doesn’t blame them even if sometimes the grievances are heavy-handed. This is a Yi who will apologize many times over for the actions of the council, for the failure of the project, for the lies and the lives ruined, both apemen and solarian, and for the individual hurts he’s caused to Kuafu, Goumang, Shaunshuan and Heng. If Eigong and many of the other Sols are not here to share the responsibility, then he will shoulder the blame, as he believes he should. Even if, y’know, everyone who IS glad he didn’t die is telling him to knock it off.

HOTD showing Viserys having little to no interaction with his children besides Rhaenyra, to the point where he ignores them, which obviously impacts how they turned out as adults.
Some fans: Okay but it's Alicent who raised them, so it's her fault really. Viserys was a good dad to Rhaenyra so---

I can see the show addressing the whole father and sons of it all with Ramon and Eddie and Chris especially after 8x04 and the convo he had with the cheerleaders father and that’s good that’s great if they address it well but I think the Helena of it all is going to haunt me forever if it’s not touched on with the comments “don’t drag him down with you” and the way she’s so happy to have Chris as a do-over and how she was the present parent and the role she plays in the Diaz family dynamic and just how both his parents have fucked him up and how Eddie only really sees his dad as the messed up one

it's so fucking sad that preteens are raiding sephora for makeup products meant for adults and not only are said adults bullying them online for views, they are also not addressing the actual issue at hand, which is that there is literally no third space for these kids and they're basically being raised on ipads where they have unrestricted access to the internet at all hours of the day, which is why they are so desperate to imitate what they see online by buying $80 makeup products meant for ADULTS. that's terrifying actually

I Will Forever Love You Chapter 2
Okay, I'm gonna do it! There's more info on the masterpost about how this is gonna look, but I am gonna post the rest of this! Just bear with me if there's a lot of time between updates!
Masterpost Prev Next
Anways, onto chapter 2:
Danny groaned as he flung himself onto the table. Which, ew, the Nasty Burger employees obviously hadn’t taken the time to wipe down the table in days, as was told by the way his hoodie was sticking to a dark stain that sat next to him. He could feel Tucker shifting next to him, obviously wanting to ask, but Danny wanted to wallow in his own self pity for just a few more moments, thank you very much. Alas, he was promptly pulled away from his thoughts as Tucker nudged his side with his elbow. Danny turned his head, allowing his eyes to scan over Tucker quickly and efficiently. He was taller now, taller than Danny’s own 5’9”, and his beret had been discarded for a beanie that allowed his new dreadlocks to cascade down over his neck. His eyes told of his desire to speak, so the 16-year-old pulled himself into a seated position.
“So,” Tucker began, his eyes shifting to ensure there were no ears on them. “What did CW want?” Ah, so that was the reason that Tucker drew Danny from his pits of despair. He was going to tell his friends; he just wanted a minute to wrap his head around the news before letting them know. Danny’s eyes drifted over to Sam, and the goth’s raised brow and clenched jaw told of her concern, even though she was trying to seem appropriately interested and not overbearing like she had in the past. He allowed himself a second to appreciate her half-shaved head once again, thinking back to the way Pamela had screeched just two days ago when he dropped Sam off at home after a devilishly fun evening at the mall.
Danny groaned once again, double checking the restaurant for prying ears before hunching forward and speaking in a hushed tone. “I’m apparently gonna be crowned Ghost King once I turn eighteen.” Danny had to stifle a grin at the loud gurgling noises that came from his friends, the memory of him making a similar noise when he first met Jazz playing in his mind’s eye.
            “Danny what-“
            “When did you-“
“Guys, guys, quiet down, people are staring!” Danny bit out, though his words held no venom. He knew they hadn’t meant to speak so loudly, and he also knew they wouldn’t be on the lookout for any attention they might gain. They had no League training, and Danny never wanted them to. He couldn’t keep them out of his life as Phantom, but he would never stoop so low as to introduce them to the world of al Ghul’s. He couldn’t, not when the only one in that damn place that ever cared about him was… Instead of lingering on that thought, Danny allowed himself to take on an easy smile as he continued forward. “It’s not a big deal. CW said I’ll have to go the Realms like, once every week or two after the coronation is over with.” Sam and Tucker noticeably loosened as the knowledge that their third wasn’t going to be disappearing into the Infinite Realms forever.
The trio’s order number was called from the front of the room, and Sam slid out of the booth to go and grab it. When she got back, she handed out their food, and Danny stared down at his vegetarian sandwich. He had decided to make the switch a few months ago, his dreams plaguing him with ghost animals coming back for their vengeance. He had tried to ignore them, but the second that Vlad had sent a ghost cow his way, his desire to eat meat had disappeared. Sam had cheered when he told them of his decision. Tucker had just huffed in annoyance and refused to eat lunch with them for two days.
“Dude,” Tucker whispered as he leaned into Danny’s side. “Breathe.” And suddenly Danny was inhaling an ungodly amount of oxygen as he realized he had been staring at his food, unbreathing, for the past five minutes. He would never admit it to anyone, but he often forgot, his body no longer required him to breathe more than once every hour. In fact, he still remembered the time Jazz had woken him up in the middle of the night due to his lack of breathing and the fact that his heart had only pumped once in 15 minutes. She had been crying when his eyes flew open, and they had had an hour-long discussion about how important it was to at least act like he was inhaling oxygen when around others. Still, he had to kick the thought about how the lack of breathing would make him even more hard to notice sneaking up on someone to dispose of them out of his mind multiple times.
Honestly, with how often he failed at the task, it was a surprise Jack and Maddie hadn’t noticed. Though, it shouldn’t be, considering they hardly ever paid attention to the presence of their children. Danny ate his sandwich and enjoyed the comfortable silence that sat between the three friends, his hair cascading into his line of vision. Danny wanted to cut it, but the fact of the matter was, the more effort he put into being a greasy, grimy gremlin, the less likely the League was to find him out. He checked his phone, and, seeing that it was nearing 6:30, the time Jazz was set to get home for her trip back to Amity, said his goodbyes for the night to Sam and Tuck. His eyes slid over the window, and for one heart stopping second, he thought it was Damian with the way the lights reflected green in his eyes. But then his eyes caught sight of the scar on his left temple, and the illusion was broken. He huffed to himself, then willed his shoulders to relax. God, how he missed his brother.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jazz pulled up to the Fenton household with a sigh on her lips. She hated being in the same house as her parents, but she hated leaving Danny alone even more. He had practically pushed her out the door the day she moved to Gotham for college, but she knew he hadn’t wanted her to put her life on hold for him. Still, she wished that she had the money to be able to take guardianship of her brother until he turned 18. If their parents ever found out about him… well, it wouldn’t be a pretty sight, that was sure. She may have thought they would understand after she first found out, but it had been so long, and their hatred for Phantom had only grown in the last two years…
Jazz clapped her hands together. No point in worrying about what could happen, Danny had set so many backup plans in place that she had had to spend an entire 48 hours memorizing them. She just needed to focus on her main goal: get Danny to talk about his life before the Fenton’s. He had kept everything to himself for the past seven years, but this time, his Gotcha Day would be spent healing from past trauma – she hoped. Frankly, she would be lucky if Danny said two words about his past, he hadn’t said since the day she had convinced her parents to adopt.
Jazz pulled down the sun visor and slid open the mirror, schooling her expression into one of pure will. “You can do this, Jasmine Fenton. You’ve spent the last two months in Gotham University studying psychology, and some 16-year-old boy will not-“
“Whatcha doin’?” Jazz’s pep talk was interrupted as she let out a totally normal, definitely cool and collected, screech. Danny started cackling, his torso sticking out of the floor of Jazz’s car.
“Danny! You can’t just pop into existence right in front of people who are having a private moment!” Jazz was chastising him, but Danny couldn’t help the giggles that continued to escape his mouth. Jazz huffed, threw open her car door, grabbed her bags, and started marching toward the front door. Danny was trailing behind her, but she didn’t care. She had forgotten just how unnerving it was when Danny appeared out of thin air, having empty space and then without warning he was just there. It reminded her of when he had first been adopted, of how he would suddenly appear and then disappear without so much as breathing loud enough to be heard. It was different now, though, as he no longer needed to put effort into softening the sounds escaping her body. Not for the first time, Jazz let herself wonder what type of homelife Danny had had before appearing in Amity.
She had only been able to come up with one plausible theory, and that was that Danny’s parents had been incredibly abusive. He must have had to learn to be as quiet as a mouse to remain out of his parents’ fighting, protecting himself from the vile side of humanity before he should have known how horrible people could be. That kind of history would be exactly the type to make someone refuse to speak about their childhood, so Jazz had allowed Danny to remain silent when it came to her questions. He didn’t have to give any answers he wasn’t prepared to, not until the traumatic memories started to cause real damage to his psyche. She was drawn out of her musings by Danny jabbing her side with his pointer finger, and when she turned a disapproving stare at him, he began rubbing the back of his neck.
“What’s up?” At the question, Danny’s hand dropped down so he could cross his arms over the ghost symbol on his hoodie. Honestly, Jazz wasn’t sure his coping mechanisms of ‘joke about my own death while simultaneously ignoring the fact that I died’ were completely healthy, but the clothing articles seemed to help keep him out of a depressive state, so she wouldn’t say anything.
“I was just saying that Mom and Dad were all hyped up this morning about something, so be prepared for anything.” Danny’s eyes took on that shine they usually did when he was talking about their parents, but she had never been able to place it. It was a mix between fondness and disdain, and what that meant for the adults in their life, she’d rather not know.
“Don’t worry little brother, I’m always prepared when it comes to Mom and Dad.” Jazz started opening the door, and then promptly froze in place as she saw the two adults running around the house like their lives depended on it.
“Don’t forget to grab the Peeler, dear! We need to make sure we take as much as we possibly can!” Mom was yelling at Dad as he descended the stairs to the lab, and a booming “Okay!” reverberated off the metal walls of the stairwell.
“Mom?” Jazz stepped forward hesitantly, not quite prepared for the sight of bags full of clothes and machinery alike. “What’s going on?”
“Jazz! It’s so lovely to see you! But why are you here? Didn’t we tell you we’re going to Gotham?” Mom looked at Jazz with a quizzical look, and finding anything remotely resembling care in the purple-tinted blue eyes was almost impossible. Jazz had to once again start the mantra of “they love us, it’s just… hard to see” in her own mind.
“No, you didn’t tell me you’re going to Gotham. Tomorrow is Danny’s Gotcha Day! I’ve been planning on coming back for months!” Jazz was tempted to let herself lose her temper, but she knew that it wouldn’t lead to anything productive. Instead, she settled for looking for any recognition of the one day that they got to celebrate Danny, since he claimed to not know when his birthday was.
“Danny’s Gotcha Day? That can’t be, that’s not until October 13th, right? It can’t be October already.” Mom was speaking as if she was stating a fact, but there was a slight frown on her lips as she checked the date on her phone. Jazz let her eyes shift over to Danny’s form, but he looked almost bored of the conversation. “Oh dear!” Mom was talking again, and Jazz decided that if Danny was okay, then she would be, too. “I’m sorry sweetie, we must have lost track of time down in the lab. You know how it is.” Mom’s voice was almost caring. “We were gonna tell you tonight, as a surprise! We’re going to Gotham for a week, Dad and I have a convention coming up that we just absolutely can’t miss. We’re leaving tomorrow, so go pack your bags!”
“Okay, thanks.” Danny shot off up the stairs, and Jazz followed after him. She needed to make sure he actually was okay; their mom had just admitted to forgetting about his stand-in birthday. Jazz knocked lightly on his bedroom door before slowly pushing it open.
“Are you okay?” Jazz sat down on Danny’s bed, shoving the bunched-up comforter out of her way while nudging a pair of jeans sprawled on the floor. She looked towards her brother and took in his appearance. His messy hair was hanging in his face, and his 5’9” stature was hunched over as he shoveled clothes into a duffle bag. He was throwing items like his chargers, toothbrush, and laptop into his backpack, and she hoped that he would try to do the online assignments that were sure to be filling his email by now.
“Yeah?” Danny sent her a puzzled look, and not for the first time did she realize that Danny obviously didn’t know what it meant to be a priority to your parents. Jazz’s brow furrowed, but she saw the way Danny was pulling into himself, so she settled for subtlety.
Jazz stood from the bed and gave Danny a long hug. “I’ll be in my room if you want to talk.” Then she was closing the door to Danny’s room and slipping into her own, the one she had lived in for 18 years, and the feelings of loneliness that hadn’t plagued her in two months crept back under her skin.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny continued to shuffle items into their respectful bags, no longer caring if they were messy. Well, that’s not to say he didn’t care, it just didn’t bother him as much as it did when he first decided to take on the persona of a slobby teen. All details would be taken into account when it came to the League. Once he finished zipping up the duffel, he turned to his backpack. He crossed his legs, and for the first time in months, he allowed himself to remember. He thought of green eyes, of heartbroken screams and explosions, and he thought of a presence by his side, watching every blind spot he would ever have. Danny clenched his fists, as he remembered the day just over a year ago. He had just confirmed that his powers were fully under his control, and as soon as he had been alone, he had zipped away. He had gone invisible and intangible long before he reached Nanda Parbat, not daring to risk being seen. He had flown around the entirety of the League’s base, searching for Damian. Alas, even his quarters had been cleared. Danny left, knowing his brother was no longer there, either dead or escaped. He was determined to find out which.
Danny’s eyes opened, and he stuck his hand into the floorboard beneath his bed. He pulled out the wakizashi, eyes tracing every detail. He didn’t need to take the time to memorize it, as it was as familiar to him as it had ever been. For a brief moment, he considered taking it with him; but there was no way he would find Damian in Gotham of all places. Jazz would have noticed his lookalike by now. Besides, Danny didn’t believe in chance.
He slid the wakizashi into his bag anyway.

that saying has stuck with me lately. that like. "the way to overcome childhood trauma is to feel the emotion you were not allowed to feel" and they used anger as their example. i think ive already been doing this in a way? I wasn't allowed to feel alive as a kid. I wasn't a person. and it reminds me of just this, falling in love with the concept of being alive, the concept of being a person ive been doing over these past few years. I dunno
#its hard to explain#the way i was just. not allowed to be alive. i was not a person i was a concept#i was the concept of the perfect oldest daughter that was supposed to watch the golden child youngest daughter#no complaints. no getting overwhelmed. they didnt teach me how to cook and would blame me when both of us would go hungry#i nearly burnt down the house trying to one time! its not that i didnt try#its just. I CANT EVEN GIVE REAL EXAMPLES because theyre too much but I'm struggling to make you understand#and not think I'm dramatic with the littler pieces#if i was hungry i learned to keep it to myself because my mom would always make this big stink about it. because she didnt want a human tha#was alive she wanted a conceptual daughter to brag about to her friends and then not have to deal with her otherwise#even now I'm not allowed to be human. i just keep it secret now#if i ever had a kid i would never make them feel guilty for having needs. i would never make them feel guilty for being alive and imperfect#with Scout i would never never get mad at her for existing. shes just a child and she cant help being difficult#what she needs is a papa that will be patient and loving with her. and i can do that. and i dont know why nobody could do that for me#its so easy. its so easy.#especially considering you chose to bring me into the world. you cant blame me for that.#its so difficult to get mad at a child ive found. they always say you'll understand your parents better when youre an adult#but all i understand is how heartless they must have been#vent
