genuinely confused and looking for clarification - it seems like you're saying that piercing babies' ears is okay because (among other reasons) it's a cultural practice, and that it's a white/colonial take to condemn it... but circumcision is (often, tho not always, especially in the US) also a cultural practice for jewish people? both things are done for cosmetic reasons by people who don't have a specific cultural practice attached to it, but both are also performed as cultural rites, but it sounds like you're condemning circumcision but not infant ear piercings?

The difference is that ear piercings are benign and reversible. Genital mutilation is dangerous and permanent.
