I actually saw that mythology au a bit before realizing it was huntl0w focused and deciding to avoid it. The concept, and the one drawing I saw, of Medusa Evelyn x human Caleb actually seemed really interesting, but knowing it was probably just made as a “set up” to Huntl0w… ick.

Honest to god, unfortunately most Wittethorne fan stuff I see is made as a "set-up" for distant future Hunt/low and it's infuriating. I want more TOH content, I want a Wittebane & Evelyn comic (a la OTGW style) and I want Evelyn to be absolute GARBAGE SHIT at plant magic & I wanna watch the little hunt/low ants scrabble about to put the little pieces of sand back together to reform their shitty little crumbling anthill

Toh Gromversary Short Fanfic

This was written for the third anniversary of Enchanting Grom Fright. I've been writing this over a few months, dunno why it took this long but now it's finally ready! Please enjoy!

Events after the fight with Grom right before the Ending where everyone goes home

"Why am I getting these feelings? I mean, she's nice to everyone."

There Amity was again trying to make sense of her feelings for perhaps the millionth time.

"There isn't anything to understand here, Amity." she told herself. The witch sighed, head down, laying in bed. "Why not just own up to it for once?" She breathed. "I don't wanna risk it." After a moment, she thought, "Luz would just jump right in." She sighed. "However, I'm not her."

"You didn't have to face your fears for me." Amity said softly. Luz watched her, amazed. When had Amity gone even sweeter?

"I know I didn't have to but I wanted to."

Now it was the witch's turn to stare at the Latina. Luz was unbelievable. Amity could just kiss her now. Her face turned into a tomato.

"Oh no! Amity! Are you ok? Did I say something? I'm sorry!" Luz scooted closer to the witch and held her face, causing Amity to go crimson.

"N-no, Luz. I'm alright," she spluttered, moving away a little. Exhaling, she managed, "thank you. I don't know if I deserve you."

Luz eyed her. "Of course you do!" Luz turned away, gazing at the stars and Amity tried very hard to suppress a whine. "I'm not sure if you deserve me, though." the Latina muttered.

Amity's eyes popped out. All rational thought out the window, she inched closer to Luz, grabbing her by the shirt collar. Luz turned. Amity was breathing heavily, tugging her. "Please, don't ever say that again." The witch's tone was firm, eyebrows knitted but something about the way she remarked that was very tender. Luz blushed and was unable to look back into those sparkling, golden eyes. She felt an extreme urge to look away. The Latina's eyes, however, betrayed her; they couldn't stop glancing at her. They wanted to look more.

Amity glanced down. She let go of Luz immediately and she was so flushed, you'd expect steam to come out of her wiggly, pointy ears. "Forgive me. I shouldn't have done that."

Luz turned to face Amity. "Hey, it's cool. I liked that." Amity saw Luz through her fingers. There it was: her unmistakable, dazzling beam. Amity's bile sack was pounding. Amity grinned back, hoping the nerves weren't too obvious. Luz smiled back, eyes closedz both enjoying each other's company in silence.

"Listen, Luz, nobody's perfect. My past doesn't excuse my actions."

Luz shuffled nearer and was taking hold of both of Amity's hands. She soothed, eyes never leaving hers, "It doesn't matter, Amity. We all make mistakes. Like you said, the past is in the past." The witch ouldn't believe her ears. "What matters is this moment and now you've shown what a kind person you are, Amity. I mean, look at you. You've apologized to Willow, Gus, and me, you're friends with Willow again, we're in our secret Azura book club together, and you helped me with Grom tonight. It's safe to say you've come so far since we first met."

Amity could cry. Why was Luz so good?

"I-I can't take all the credit, Luz." Amity whispered in an unsteady tone. "I, you showed me."

Luz processed what she just uttered. "Who, widdle old me?"

Amity grinned. "Yes, widdle old you, Luz." she spoke so gently, saying her name so sweetly, reverently Luz broke.

"No one's even been so nice to me, apart from my mami and my found family." Luz gasped between sobs.

"No! Luz! I'm so sorry! I don't know why people treated you like that! They don't deserve you! I swear to Titan, if I find them I'll-" the witch growled.

Luz eyed her and burst out laughing. Amity watched her, her face softening. Oh, how she adored to hear her beloved laugh like that.

"My fearless champion" Luz murmured softly, caressing Amity's face. Amity leaned in fully now, emboldened, ears flapping from joy, face crimson. It was just her and Luz and that was all that mattered. All was well.

I'm addicted to the Flapjack Legacy and am curious if TOH Flapjack was purposely named after The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack:

was curious if the name "Flapjack" for Evelyn's palisman was a reference to the cartoon The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, which is credited as the OG show that brought us so many more amazing animated shows.

In case anyone is out of the loop, or just don't remember this adorable little cartoon (I certainly forgot about it) It's one of the first that animators like Alex Hirsh (Gravity Falls) , Pendleton Ward (of Adventure Time & Bravest Warriors Fame), J. G. Quintel (Regular Show) and of course all the cartoons that broke off from these shows (Steven Universe, Owl House, you get it)

Maybe it's just because the Owl House has so many references wrapped up in it, or feels like are wrapped up in it, that I think it would make sense for Flapjack's name to also be a reference to Flapjack, the main character of one of Alex Hirsh's first animation projects and in honor of a cartoon that gave some very heavy hitting animators the confidence to branch out into other shows.
