Who should Marlow’s LI be?
I honestly am having trouble deciding, Writing out my thoughts on the two people I think would fit into his story the best, as well as what I like and dislike about Marlow and Cassandra, to try and help me figure things out.
I know it’s my OC, but if anyone has their own opinion I’d love to hear it!
Dorian
Marlow and Dorian meet in Redcliffe briefly, Marlow ends up going with the Templars instead so the two don’t meet again till the attack on Haven. They have a bit of a rocky relationship at first. Dorian is upset that Marlow did not help at Redcliffe. Marlow thinks magic is dangerous and the two butt heads a bit on that. However, they’re both from noble families, they both don’t get along with said families, and they both ran away. It takes until after the first major Skyhold Quest (WEAWH) for them to be comfortable calling the other a friend, but then they’re very close. I could see them having a very deep romance in the end, depending on how Dorian’s romance is written. From what I understand, Dorian’s romance is a bit of a slow burn, so it would give Marlow some time to get over Cassandra before he jumps into something new emotionally.
Josephine
Marlow flirted with Josephine quite a bit in Haven, but stopped eventually when she showed no interest (plus he was starting to fall for Cass). They come from similar backgrounds and their families run in the same social circles. Both of them prefer diplomacy to violence and dislike unnecessary bloodshed. Marlow has quite a bit of respect for Josephine and the work she does. Josephine appreciates Marlow’s ability in politics (it was a surprise to her given his reputation and how much of a sarcastic goof he is). If they had a romantic relationship, I think it could be cute and balanced.
However, the timing would be weird. Marlow would break up with Cass right before Halamshiral, go to the ball, finish up Josephine’s personal quest and then...jump into a relationship right away? I don’t think Josie’s relationship takes too much longer after you complete her personal quest and I’m right at the end of it in the save file I’d be going back to. I can’t imagine putting it off any longer than after the ball, what with Josephine’s life being danger (even waiting that long feels weird but I can fudge it if I decide this romance feels like the best choice). But at least Marlow would get a chance to dance at the ball with his eventual LI in this instance, since Josie is the default for a no-LI Inquisitor!
Cassandra
I could always stick with Cass and try to make it work. Marlow flirted with Cass from the get-go, at first just for fun, but then somewhere along the way he realized he deeply cared for her. He admires her passion and dedication. They’re both very Andrastian and she shares similar views to him on mages and templars. He trusts her and, before he got chosen for the role, thought that she should lead the inquisition. They form a very good friendship in the events leading up to the attack on Haven. Soon after they reach Skyhold, he realizes the depth of his feelings for her and stops flirting with others. He doesn’t expect her to return his feelings. He focuses on being a good friend to her while she struggles with the whole Hawke & Varric thing. Cass tells him she admires how decisive he is in his leadership and when she asks what guides him, Marlow tells her she does.
When Cass confronts him on the garden balcony, tells him what her ideal romance is and that she doesn’t think he can meet that ideal, I think Marlow is honestly confused. He’s not sure if that was a rejection or if she’s asking him to prove himself. I originally had him go for the latter and come up with this big romantic grand gesture on his own (I really love he idea of him scoping out the perfect place, and the quest to gather the stuff is honestly really fun).
I have played through the romance scene, and it is really sweet, it felt mostly right for them. The immediate jump to sex felt a little rushed to me, after Cassandra showing 0 evidence of interest and 0 evidence of even like...silently yearning or whatever, but ok, I can try and make that work. But then I did the Winter Palace and...I get that Cass’s whole thing is that she puts on a tough front but really does want the romantic stuff, but the way it’s written came of more of her once again having 0 interest in Marlow romantically, and only begrudgingly dancing with him. Out of all the LI’s she’s the only one (besides maybe Bull) who has nothing really sweet or supportive to say during the balcony scene. She’s fed up with the ball and wants to go home, and she’ll dance with you if you insist but all you’ll get as a half-second of a smile and a “I guess this isn’t so bad,” and if you choose not to dance, you don’t even get to take a moment to be on the balcony watching the stars together like the other LIs. You awkwardly stand 3 feet apart for a bit and then go home.
I like the idea of Marlow and Cass being together, but not the way it’s written in game. If the rest of the romance scene’s are like this (which, I think there’s only 1 left) then...it doesn’t really feel like a romantic relationship?? I just don’t buy that Cass actually has romantic feelings for him, it feels like she wants an ideal romance maybe, but not with Marlow. Plus if I fail to get Vivienne to be Divine, Cass will most likely get elected instead, and I have a feeling that will end the relationship between them.
So if they break up, it’ll be after Marlow has gathered all the material’s for his romantic grand gesture. In my head, he’s approaching Cassandra to talk about their relationship, to make sure he’s reading the signals right, because there would be nothing more unpleasant for the both of them then him making a big romantic gesture when Cassandra has no interest in him. The actual in game dialogue for for it goes like this (I’m paraphrasing):
Marlow: I need to talk to you about our relationship...
Cassandra: There is no “relationship” between us, I thought I made that clear.
Marlow: ...Quite clear.
Cassandra: Let’s never speak of this again.
Again I know this is probably supposed to be Cass hiding her feelings, and ending things first before she gets hurt. But in context of what Marlow knows, it feels like a confirmation that he’s been bothering her this whole time.
Ughhh I’ve been trying to headcanon my problems with the romance away but it’s just not working.

I redid the Inquisitor as companion thing 😳 I couldn’t find the original person who posted the template so I put it in a google doc here. If anyone knows who the OP is please let me know so I can credit them!
Inquisitor’s Name: Vianni Lavellan
Race / Class / Specialization: Dalish Elf, Dual-Wielding Rogue (Tempest) & Mage (Rift Mage)
Gender Identity: Nonbinary Woman
Varric’s Nickname for them: Magpie
Short bio:
Vianni grew up with their clan alongside their younger sibling Nialros, who they practically raised after the deaths of their parents. They were married to their childhood sweetheart, Danishan, when they came of age, and they had a daughter named Vylara together. Vianni’s role as an ambassador for the clan often took them away from home, and when they returned from one of their trips to find Vylara had died in their absence, it broke their heart and tore them and Danishan’s marriage apart. They left the clan and traveled for a few years, researching Elvhen history independently and offering aid to the elves in the cities they passed through. Vianni’s reserved and withdrawn, but feels a strong compulsion to help others that inspires others and makes it easy to follow them.
Initial Companion Card:
(The Hermit) Walking into the treeline of a forest, with their face partially covered by a hood. A city they’ve just departed from is in the background, and their eyes look both sad and determined. They hold a dagger in one hand, and are producing a soft light to guide their way with the other.
Recruitment Mission:
Leliana’s people would have gotten wind of someone stealing supplies from the rogue templars and mages and redistributing them to refugees in the crossroads. The inquisitor finds Vianni outside the templar encampment in the hinterlands, but they disappear before the fighting begins. They reappear after the inquisitor has taken out the templar camp, having already looted it for supplies during the fighting. They thank them for getting rid of them- they’d been stealing small odds and ends from it for weeks to help the refugees. They offer their services to the Inquisition after seeing they could probably make a bigger impact by working with them.
Where they’d be in Haven/Skyhold:
In Haven, inside the apothecary helping Adan mix grenades.
In Skyhold, in a nook in the library
Personal Quest:
Vianni will suddenly become withdrawn from the Inquisitor, and upon being prompted reveals the seven year anniversary of their daughter’s death, Vylara, is approaching, and they would like to visit her grave near the frostback basin for the first time since they buried her. If the Inquisitor agrees, Vianni is locked into the party. Upon arriving, you find the area is riddled with demons and rifts, and every time you near one, a wisp-like spirit helps the party seal the rift. The closer you get to the grave, the clearer the wisp’s voice becomes, and Vianni (who’s very distressed) says it sounds familiar. When you finally close the last rift, the wisp takes the form of Vianni’s daughter. Vianni begins to break down, apologizing to her for not being there to save her. If Solas is in the party, he tells them the spirit is not actually Vylara, but a spirit of curiosity. The spirit reveals that Vianni’s daughter had been a mage, but had been keeping it secret until Vianni came home from their last trip. The spirit and Vylara had been friends, and the spirit wanted to tell Vianni that Vylara wouldn’t want them to blame themselves. Vianni embraces the spirit, and their daughter’s form melts away. Vianni asks the inquisitor to help them clean their daughter’s grave. They greatly approve of the inquisitor helping, and slightly disapproves if they don’t.
They ask the party to return to Skyhold without them- they want to spend the night there, and go back to their clan for a short while.
They return a month later, looking more at peace with themself than before. They thank the inquisitor for their help, and depending on how the conversation goes, their romance is locked in here.
How to get their approval/disapproval:
Vianni has a strong instinct to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and will slightly approve of anything that helps the less fortunate or the oppressed. They would slightly approve of the inquisitor asking them respectful and genuine questions about the Dalish, and slightly disapprove of ignorant or rude questions. They wouldn’t approve of sit in judgement decisions that result in making anyone tranquil.

Are They Romanceable?
Yes- I think their romance would have to do with them and the inquisitor becoming comfortable enough for them to confide their past in, and building the trust to move on from the pain of their previous marriage. They’d be an attentive and sweet partner, who falls into domesticity with ease. They’re bisexual and romanceable by an inquisitor of any race or gender, but it will be harder for them to trust a human enough to let their walls down.
Can you have sex with them?
Yes
Are they open to polyamory?
No. They don’t have a problem with it, they just wouldn’t be comfortable with it in their own love life.
If they can be romanced and are not, will they begin a relationship / relationships with other character(s)? If so, who?
Yes- if not romanced by the inquisitor and taken out in the same party past a certain point, Vianni and Solas will begin having academic discussions that become more and more flirtatious. They will also start to appear in the rotunda instead of their usual location in Skyhold, sitting with a book on Solas’ couch. They stay with the Inquisition after he leaves, but are considerably withdrawn after.
Who are they friendly with?
Vianni is generally a very amicable person, but is closest with Solas, Josephine, a softened Leliana, Sera, and Varric.
Who do they dislike?
I think they’d dislike a hardened Leliana, and probably have a rocky or distrustful start with Cassandra and Bull that would lead into mutual respect. They’d like Blackwall until they find out about his lie, after which they’d hate him.
Companion Card Changes: (use a text desc. if you don’t have visuals)
Loyalty: (Three of Swords in Reverse) Vianni’s hood is no longer drawn, and three daggers float in the air suspended by their magic. They have a warm smile on their face, and a halo of gold shines from behind them.
Loyalty Alternative: (The Three of Swords) Vianni’s silhouette walking into the mountains, sparing a last look over their shoulder at Skyhold
Romanced: (Two of Cups) A close-up of Vianni grasping the inquisitor’s gloved hand in their own in what looks to be a handfasting ceremony, gazing at the inquisitor with a loving smile
Side Missions:
Bookwyrm: Vianni will ask you to help them find a ruin in the Emerald Graves that they suspect holds Elvhen artefacts. Upon finding the ruin, you fight dragonlings and walking corpses within, eventually fighting a possessed dragon in the lowest chamber. After killing the dragon you find an ancient Elvhen tome, which you can give to Vianni (resulting in Great Approval)
Opinions on mages / templars / how the world is going to shit?
Vianni thinks mages should be free, and while they think circles aren’t necessary they think something like them that offers mages the option of an education should be available to those who want it, rather than being forced on them. While they personally are more predisposed to trust mages than templars, they can empathize with the plight of the templars as well after learning more about them from Cullen and Cassandra, and actually thinks it makes more sense to get their help to close the breach. (but they think the Inquisitor should disband the Order rather than ally with them.)
They’re afraid for everyone in the world who’s defenseless and can’t make a difference, which is why they feel obligated to do so.
Something guaranteed to make them leave the party:
Vianni stays with the Inquisition unless asked to leave.
Special Events:
Imprisoned at Redcliffe: How is your Inquisitor holding up in Redcliffe, being slowly infected with red lyrium over the course of a year?
They are distraught and furious, and want to crawl out of this broken skin that doesn’t feel like it belongs to them. They have no desire to live, they just want to go down fighting.
At the Winter Palace: Does your Inquisitor enjoy the party, any special events with them at the Palace?
Vianni was the ambassador for their clan years ago, so they excel at and delight in political intrigue. They are very fascinated with Briala, and would try to covertly talk to the servants to hear if Briala’s work is helping them, and if so, how they can help Briala.
If romanced, you will be able to share a dance and a kiss on the balcony.
In the Fade: Your Inquisitor’s reaction upon entering the Fade? Fear’s taunt, and Inquisitor’s response? Epitaph on their grave?
Their reaction would be a mixture of uneasiness and academic curiosity- they would love to get the opportunity to spend more time observing how physical objects interact with things in the fade and what secrets are to be found there, but ultimately stay focused on the goal to escape.
Their epitaph would say: ‘Not Changing Anything’
The Nightmare will taunt Vianni by telling them it’s their fault their daughter died, and who she would’ve been if she’d lived.
Trespasser: What is your Inquisitor up to two years after Corypheus’ defeat? Any special events with them over the events of Trespasser?
Vianni stays with the Inquisition, staying close to the inquisitor in their travels after the defeat of Corypheus, assuming they ended on good terms. Their sibling Nialros joins up as well, and the two have been working alongside Dagna studying magical things in Solas’ absence.
During Trespasser they’re happy to see everyone come together again, but are worried about the future of the Inquisition and the inquisitor themselves. They will be shocked and confused by Solas’ identity initially, but not be too surprised after ruminating on it more.
Vianni stays with you no matter what if you romanced them (or if you had high approval with them and they did not get together with Solas.)
If they got together with Solas and had high approval with the Inquisitor, they decide to stay with the Inquisition to try and stop him/save him, depending on what the Inquisitor chooses to do.
If they got together with Solas and the Inquisitor did not have high approval, they will try to do what they can to protect him from the inside- though they could be swayed into believing his death is a necessity.
If the Inquisitor told Vianni to leave, and they had gotten together with Solas, Vianni is on Solas’ side and working with him.
Other Major Events: Any other major events that happen with them over the course of the main game?
nah I’m tired lol

This is the comment I woke up to on Friday morning. The amount of bigotry hiding behind the almost polite and seemingly thoughtful wording is astonishing.
I’ve responded to it already, informing the individual behind it that I won’t be discussing the points of the comment with them, as they’ve resorted to personally attacking me, which is...dumb. I mean, attack my work all you like, it either helps me grow as an author by learning from my mistakes or as a person by growing a spine and defending my work. But coming after someone who has no connection to this and can’t defend themselves because they are no longer with us? Low and disgusting. (Also wow, they’ve taken the time to find the only truly personal post I have on tumblr, and it’s more than a month old, what a commitment to come off as pathetic, really)
Anyway, while talking to that particular individual is out of question, I still kinda wanna address the certain things in the comment because wow, my first queerphobic comment and an excuse to talk more about “Nothing and Everything”, my boys and myself? How can I pass that?
(this is like... a long-ass one... prepare yourselves)
(I’m gonna refer to the commentator as “Fox” and, probably, “them” because well, I don’t know what their preferred pronounce are)
NB! I’m using the term “queer” as an umbrella term to mean everyone who isn’t strictly straight and/or cis-gender.
Let’s start from the top
1.
The best part about slashfic writers is that when they write about child abuse, child sex abuse, and drug and alcohol abuse while including gay characters, is that they’re really writing about the lives of gay men without realizing it. To you, gay men being abused and that being the arbiter of their homosexual identity is too homophobic to fathom. But you still confirm it in subtle ways, and that always brings a smile to my face.
Now, English isn’t my first language, so I might be missing something, but If Fox meant being the arbiter of as in defining, being the reason for, than no, it’s not homophobic. It’s just dumb. One, there isn’t a single relevant scientifically accurate study on the abuse causing someone to “turn gay”. Two - there might be a correlation (and it’s not necessary there, I’m just guessing), but the cause and effect will be the other way around, queer kids get abused more because they are queer, not become queer as the result of the abuse. And, most importantly, three - in terms of sexual orientation, you can’t turn someone queer, as well as you can’t turn someone straight. It’s something you are born with and discover as you go along.
And also the other two queer characters, Rob and Penny, weren’t abused by their parents and/or other family members, but we will touch on that later.
2.
“The Brotherhood had no problem with homosexuality” - Of course not, and neither do the Templars. It’s the Current Year. You can marry/have sex with whomever you want, whatever you want, whenever you want.
Ignoring the fact that this was taken out of context, and the whole phrase has a slightly different meaning, there are two things that are factually wrong with this statement. First - even in the Current Year, there is a ton of places where being openly queer is dangerous, from the countries that have “anti-gay” laws (ranging from “you can be gay, but stay quiet or go to jail” to “die a horrible death for being gay”), to certain, let’s say, traditionally oriented places in the US. Second - this is not Current Year. The bulk of the story takes place between 1998 and 2003, this phrase is taken from the chapter taking place in 2003, 16 years prior, things were, let’s say, slightly different.
Also, I don’t understand why Fox tried to make this sound sarcastic, we are talking about two societies, with one canonically being for freedom and choice and the other one relying on public favor to propel their agenda, of course, none of them will have qualms with the GRSM community,
3.
“Honorary gay parents of a gay kid” - Well no wonder the kid is gay. Look at the environment xe/xim/xer grew up in.
I like how Fox uses the non-binary pronounces referring to Penny, when the only thing that has been said about her/them is “I’m into girls.” Also out of 16 kids on the Farm, only 3 are confirmed to be queer. They’ve all grown up in the same environment, so that statement is... meaningless. And in case Fox was referring to Rob and Des turning Penny “gay” well, they’ve also been close with Sam and he’s - what a shock - straight! So again - meaningless.
I’m gonna skip Fox shitting on my friend’s art, again - such remarks are low, pathetic and not worth discussing, let’s get to the juicy stuff.
4.
It’s amusing, no, to have a pansexual – an individual who is attracted to ‘all genders’ - writing about gay men so much? How many genders are there? Thousands? 51? All on the spectrum? Regardless, tumblrinas are as big on their sexual identities as they are on their activism. In this case, we have a person – presumably female – getting wet over two dudes banging. I’m simply wondering if they packed enough lube and had their enemas. Maybe it was hidden in their stash?
Well, as a matter of fact - they didn’t have lube in their stashes because the only way to get it was to essentially ask one of the adults going to the city to get it for them, can you imagine a 16yo asking something like that? Death from mortification would be the most likely outcome.
Seriously though, I write what I like about whom I like. The only thing it has to do with me being pansexual is that I have more confidence in writing non-straight characters and relationships because I know it’s fine, and my queerphobic background can’t silence me anymore. Also - Desmond isn’t gay, he is bisexual. Rob is gay, true.
The amount of genders is still up for debate, in my personal opinion it’s all on the spectrum, and the only reason gender issues don’t come out in fiction as much as sexual orientations do is that gender in a lot of cases is a more personal thing than orientation, that’ll inevitably reflect on the inter-character dynamics. A lot of genderqueer people are fine with using male or female pronounces, which to an outsider would put them in respective categories. There are, of course, androgynous people, trans people, non-binary people and others for whom gender and the perception of their gender are important in day to day life - and there are more and more stories featuring them.
Also, on the note of pansexuality - it’s not “attraction to all genders,” it’s having an attraction to the person regardless of their sex or gender, those labels play an insignificant part in me deciding to pursue a relationship. (Also also there might be like a ton of things to discuss in regards to how sexuality relates to gender identities, but not here, not now)
And yes, I’m afab, so yeah, “female” and I do “get wet over the two dudes banging”. Fox got me. Now what? Shame Fox seemingly can’t conceptualize that I “get wet” because I wrote those boys in a story that contains a hard emotional journey full of heartbreak, and I do revel in the short happy moments they’ve got together. The sexual/sensual part is hot because it’s those particular two guys, not just random two guys.
Oh, and the last thing here - I don’t know if it’s news for Fox, but not all people in a homosexual relationship engage in anal sex. Especially teens in their first relationship. Just saying.
Let’s skip another personal attack part, here we go, sorry that the phrase is broken up
5.
she educated a pansexual SJW into confirming every negative and dirty secret in the gay community: a brutal, abusive father, societal ‘homophobia’, drug and alcohol abuse, and feeling inadequate compared to heterosexual people.
Tbh, this is the part of the comment that had me confused for a moment, as I mistook Fox for one of the “hardcore gay” people, that think that with letters added to LGBT and by putting everything on the spectrum we somehow affect negatively the “real” gay community. The next paragraph cleared this shit for me tho.
Right off the bat - SJW isn’t a dirty word, Fox shouldn’t try to sell it as one. And I won’t label myself as a SJW, because as of now, I lack the commitment to the cause.
For the next part, I’d really, really like to quote a line from one of my fav vines “Bitch, where?” but for the sake of politeness, I’ll go with “Citation needed,” because from all of the things mentioned, the only one that is really prominent in the text is the “brutal, abusive father”. Societal homophobia isn’t exactly in the text (pay attention, teen Rob is cautious about adults being homophobic, it’s a valid fear a lot of queer teens have prior to coming out, but the general atmosphere isn’t homophobic. If I wanted it to be, adding a scene of public shame/shunning for someone caught in the act wouldn’t be hard), no drug and\or alcohol abuse (1 scene of teens trying drinks for the first time doesn’t count - surprise, teenagers try drinking), and feeling inadequate is mentioned once as a fear of a nine-year-old Penny, who has no frame of reference other than heterosexual behavior of the others, and is corrected almost immediately by Rob.
6.
Was this about Assassin’s Creed? No, not really. Despite you being a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE fan, you don’t really respect these characters. Miles is a douchebag, it’s true, but he’s respected even by Otso Berg. That should tell you something.
(I’d like to see an example of Fox-approved, really-about-Assassin’s-Creed fanfiction, for a future reference, but alas, they’ve commented from as guest)
Interesting how me not liking or respecting Bill, canonically abusive douchebag known for alienating people because of how cold and manipulative he is, translates into me automatically not respecting every other character in the series.
Also, I don’t see how Otso Berg respecting William as an opponent should sway my judgment. I’ve mentioned here on my blog that I like Garnier de Naplouse as a villain - how self-assured he is, and how much quiet intelligence he has. Do I like him in general as a person? No. Do I respect him? No. He tortured people. I relished in seeing Altair murder him.
With Bill, him being a douchebag and abuser is a deciding fact for me, I do not respect abusers, no matter how great they may be. But tbh, on the leadership front, I can’t quite decide if Bill is a fine leader given the circumstances, or if the number of instances of him being canonically shitty as a leader is big enough to call for his removal.
7.
You crafted him into a predictable homophobic dad, albeit he isn’t Christian. I was waiting for the Bible to be thrown at Desmond.
Again - citation needed. One instance in the text of Bill being homophobic. Not abusive, not overly-demanding, but homophobic.
(Spoiler alert - there isn’t one.)
As for the Christian associations - well, it’s in the tags. Literally. In this story, the Brotherhood is a cult, like the JWs, or the LDS church, but with Creed instead of a holy book. And I guess I succeeded in conveying the feeling.
8.
In another Tumblr post, you wrote about how William is very abusive to Desmond, and how that is inexcusable. You bring up Nikolai and putting his child out in the cold as punishment, and earlier, cited Philosophy Tube in regards to solitary confinement (which really shows a lot). How do you explore this concept?
I wonder what me citing Philosophy Tube shows, except for maybe that I find Olly to be a very pleasant narrator and that the themes he touches on are rather interesting (Olly is precious, protect Olly).
I think I was rather unsubtle with showing what exactly abuse, inflicted by Bill, did to Desmond. And not, not “turn him gay”, about that in a moment. I don’t delve like deep into what was happening in Desmond’s head because this story is from Rob’s perspective. Not Desmond’s.
This story isn’t about the relationship between Bill and Desmond. It’s about Desmond not living in a vacuum all those years on the Farm.
Write William being SO abusive he turns his son gay. You make him so homophobic Desmond reacts by engaging in self-destructive behaviour and, in turn, becoming your average gay man. Your OC, Richard, Robert is merely the bridge.
“Bitch where?!“ (c)
1. Desmond isn’t gay. He is bi (because I’m keeping it as close to the canon as I can and I love Elijah to death). It’s in the tags, and it’s in the tags rather than stated because Desmond’s sexual orientation isn’t the point of this story, 2. Bill isn’t homophobic, at least not openly. There’s a different issue within the Brotherhood, the fact that they expect everyone born into the Brotherhood to have kids of their own. This is the source of Rob’s unease and perceiving adults as not reacting positively him or any other kid in a queer relationship.  3. If I wanted Bill to come off as homophobic, I’d portray him like that. Using slurs, for example.  4. Bill abuses Desmond not because he thinks his son is gay - he thinks his son is weak. In general. Not related to orientation. Like in the fucking canon. I’m merely turning the abuse factor up to eleven. 5. No one abused Rob, his father is shown in the text to be one of the best parents on the Farm - and Rob is gay. No one abused Penny, her family is mentioned briefly, but I specifically did it in a way that shows that they are nice - and she is a lesbian. Another boy, Colin, got abused by his strict mother - and he is straight. Desmond got abused by his father - and he is bi. There is no correlation between abuse and being queer.  6. Desmond's self-destructive behavior came from him being abused on a daily basis for most of his life and having no way out. Again, if it was linked to his orientation Rob would do that stuff too. He doesn’t.
9.
You make these characters gay because, as a ‘queer pansexual person’ you can. But you don’t really make them human. In fact, every single negative stereotype you want to protect yourselves from our oh-so-bigoted society are confirming them, while simultaneously denying that they exist.
In short, everything and everyone acted the way I expected to, and was written the way I expected a queer pansexual to write them: meaningless, with only the sexual identity taking place. Funny how that’s the only identity politics that’s allowed. Everything else is oh so bigoted.
I’m not denying the existence of the stereotype, I’m just not acknowledging it as valid, because it’s not. It’s like blaming violence on video games - you’d be hard-pressed to find a youngster who doesn’t play a semi-violent game of some kind, with blood and murder, but every time someone brings up that another shooter was playing those games, they forget to mention how many youngsters play and don’t commit murder as a result.
The same way Fox keeps bringing up the “abuse turned Desmond gay” without acknowledging that there’s a ton of straight teens that get abused worse than Desmond in this story, or the two queer kids right in the text who weren’t abused.
It’s also funny that Fox is adamantly holding to the “sexual identity” thing, despite the fact that it came up only in 5th chapter (with 4 chapters before that having nothing to do with sexual orientation) and it’s not even an identity/orientation thing. It’s the “relationship between Rob and Desmond” thing and “Desmond is clinging to as much happiness as he can because he has none” thing. The only time orientation comes up in term of identity it’s when Rob talks to Penny and thinks of himself as a closeted gay man, but it immediately switches back into the “relationship between two people” again.
10.
You call yourself an AC fan?
Yes. Yes, I do. Ain’t nothing some bigot on the internet can do about it ;)

Azahar Hawke + Fenris
Tbh I Do Ship Azahar and Fenris, I have two current playthroughs I switch between of xem: one romancing Merrill, one romancing Fenris. But to be fair we all know I’m an elf lover lmao.
I think Azahar and Fenris would get along pretty well tbh, especially since I think they both come off initially as broody or.... fuck I can’t remember the word but like, appear not welcoming to people? But are actually both pretty loyal and also humourous, just in that sort dead-pan like way. I also imagine Fenris admires xem both because they’re like, strong and fearless as hell and utterly ruthless when it comes to Bad People, but also loyal as hell and doesn’t coddle him.
I know people like pairings of mage Hawkes and Fenris, especially as a way for Fenris to better learn about and come to like mages. I think in Azahar’s case, this happens but there’s a mutual starting group for them, as they’re both (city) elves. They have different backgrounds obviously, with Fenris having been a slave in Tevinter and Azahar being an elven apostate trying to evade Templars and just Humans, and working on a farm and as a part-time servant. But I think the shared experience of being elven at least gives them a good starting point for understanding each other better.
I also really like to imagine that when xe’s alone with Fenris, Azahar actually opens up and lets xemself be vulnerable--which they avoid at all costs otherwise. Azahar’s ingame personality is Aggressive, which while the game seems to equate that to Asshole, I more imagine as just I’m Very Blunt and Direct and I Can And Will Punch A Demon In The Face and Rip It’s Heart Out With My Bare Hands To Protect My Friends and Any Innocent. So you know, these two strong ass warrior-like elves that just melt around each other, because that’s an aesthetic right there.
As a note in general on my shipping of them I also hc that like, their relationship progresses a bit differently than in-game. Partially bcuz Azahar really wouldn’t sleep with someone outside of a committed relationship (why so many da romances do you fuck and only like ages later get into a proper relationship? like that’s fair but lemme have more relationships that don’t start from casual hook ups). In the canonical romance scene where Hawke and Fenris bang, I more imagine less sex and kissing and more just like, sitting with each other and having a heart to heart and having some non-alcoholic drink and discussing if they wanted to have a relationship and Azahar taking off the face piece of xyr niqab. Some non-physical intimacy. Some non-sex thing makes Fenris remember his life before the Lyriym markings, and Azahar, as a trauma survivor, is cool and supportive and suggests maybe they both need a bit more time until pursuing a relationship as Fenris doesn’t seem to be in the right mental state for a romance yet.
Their relationship is like a proper slow burn where they don’t even hold hands until like the 37th chapter, just an immigrant nb niqabi cowboy mage elf and a broody former slave lyrium ghost elf pining, dealing with the overlapping shit of life, and slowly letting themselves be vulnerable and fall in love. Because isn’t that the aesthetic.

smuuuuttttttttttt
Anders x Nathaniel, a casual quickie in the woods. Un-beta’d, much thanks to Red (@s-hylor) for alpha-reading and cheerleading.
(for background, this is a scene in a weird “the Grey Wardens failed” AU I’m writing where both men have been conscripted into an army. Probably the only thing you need to know is that the mages in the army are paired 1:1 with a templar guardian, in this case Anders with Rolan.)
Anders sighs and rolls over onto his other side. He can’t seem to get comfortable, and the noises of the camp keep startling him awake every time he manages to fall into a doze.
“Would you just lie still and sleep?” Rolan growls.
“You could always sleep in a different tent, then I won’t bother you so much.”
“Can’t you cast some kind of spell to make you fall asleep?”
“I can cast one on you.”
“Try it and I’ll smite you so hard it will be days before you can cast so much as a wisp.”
Anders feels that familiar icy thrill of fear and he hates Rolan, hates him possibly more than Oswin, Greagoir, and every void damned templar that visited him in that cell combined.
“I need to piss,” Anders snaps. He throws his blanket aside and starts to crawl over Rolan to the tent flap.
Rolan’s hand clamps like a vice on his ankle. “Hold it til morning.”
“Do you want me to piss in your bedroll?” Anders says.
“Then I’ll come with you.”
“Do you want to hold my cock for me too? You have my boots, my robes and my staff. There are sentries everywhere out there. I’m going as far as the latrines. No further.”
“If you pull anything I’ll be chaining you up each night from now on.” Rolan lets go of Anders’ ankle.
Piece of shit always needs the last word. Anders straightens his nightshirt around his thighs and heads for the latrines. Ill stick a fireball right up his pompous arse, I will.
He picks his way carefully through the dirt surrounding the latrines, hoping not to step in anything too gross. He should have stolen Rolan’s boots.
“So I guess you don’t always wear robes.”
Anders jumps, glad he’s finished emptying his bladder already or he probably would have made a mess. Nate moves far far too quietly for a man his size.
“Well, it’s usually that or naked,” Anders says with a wink, “but I didn’t fancy walking bare arsed through camp.”
“Thank the Maker,” Nate says. “No one wants to see that.”
“Are you sure? I got the feeling you’d be all too happy to see it.”
“You really are full of yourself, aren’t you?” But his gaze on Anders’ bare thighs is anything but disgusted.
“I’d rather be full of you,” Anders says.
Nate smirks at him. “You would, would you?”
Anders takes two slinking steps forward, closing the distance between them. “The question is,” he says, looking down the few inches in height between them, “would you like it too?”
“I don’t have to ask your cranky shadow for permission?”
“If we’re quick enough, he won’t even notice.”
“This way.” Nate grabs his wrist. His hands are broad and calloused, and very warm. “I know a spot that’s a little more private, but not outside the sentry line.”
Anders lets Nate lead him halfway around the perimeter and into a small copse of trees.
“So,” Nate says, “are you the kind of man that kisses on the first date?”
Anders laughs and draws him close until Nate has him crowded up against the smooth bark of a tree. “There’s not much I don’t do on a first date.”
“Good.”
Nate grabs a hold of Anders’ ponytail and draws him down into a harsh, biting kiss. Anders laughs into it and bites Nate’s full bottom lip. Nate’s other hand slides up Anders’ thigh, rucking his nightshirt up, and then around to grip his arse. Anders arches his hips forward, grinding against Nate’s growing hardness.
“Let me help you with that,” Anders says. He drops his hands to Nate’s flies.
Nate shifts his attention to Anders’ neck, and his goatee tickles just as nicely as Anders predicted.
Nate’s cock is thick and heavy in Anders’ hands. “Maker, you’re huge,” he says. “Next time I’m going to get down on my knees and let you fuck my throat.”
Nate groans into his neck. “You want there to be a next time?”
“I’m game if you are,” Anders says. “Oh yes, there.”
Anders tilts his head back to give Nate access to his neck, and Nate sucks a punishing love bite. The pain shoots down his spine and straight to his cock. “Nnng, yes, keep them low enough that my robes will cover them.”
“I know what I’m doing,” Nate growls. He tugs Anders’ collar aside and bites down on his collarbone. “Besides,” he continues when he comes up for air, “can’t your sort just heal them?”
“I could, but where’s the fun in that?” Anders summons a palmful of grease and slicks Nate’s cock. He pumps lazily, finding the thick vein that runs the length of the underside and toying at it with his thumb.
“That’s a convenient spell,” Nate says. “Are all mages as depraved as you?”
“Pretty much,” Anders says.
Anders tucks his nightshirt to one side and slides his cock against Nate’s. It feels so good, the sensitive slide of flesh on flesh, and he wishes they could linger here, that he could take his time with Nate, pulling each other apart with sensation and putting each other back together again.
“Give me some of that oil,” Nate says.
Anders conjures another palmful and holds it out to Nate.
Nate lifts one of Anders’ legs and wraps it around his waist. The change in angle means Anders can no longer reach Nate’s cock as easily, but he loses focus on that the minute one of Nate’s slicked fingers breaches his arse.
It’s thick and perfect and not nearly enough. “More,” Anders moans in Nate’s ear.
“Gladly.”
Nate slips a second finger in and Anders’ vision whites out in pleasure for a moment. He claws at Nate’s amazing shoulders and loses himself in the sensation. He lets out another breathy moan. “Fuck me already.”
“So demanding,” Nate says with a dark chuckle.
“Do you want this arse or—nnngg.”
Anders bites his tongue to keep from shouting as Nate pulls his fingers out, then lines up and pushes his thick cock in. The stretch is perfect, just the right side of painful, and Anders has to take a moment to breathe and get used to it.
Nate gives him that moment, stroking his hip and kissing his neck.
“Move,” Anders whispers.
Nate draws almost all the way out and then slams back in, pushing Anders back against the tree and sending sparks of pleasure up his spine.
Anders gasps. “Again. Oh, Nate, again.”
Nate laughs against Anders’ skin and thrusts again, long and slow and hard. Anders throws his head back and covers his mouth with his hand to stifle the moans that want to escape. Nate’s rhythm picks up and the thick drag of his cock skates over Anders’ sensitive spot perfectly. Anders keens quietly behind his hand.
“Fuck,” Nate pants. “You feel good. So good.”
“Harder,” Anders says. He tangles his free hand in Nate’s hair and holds him close. They’re both trembling, and Anders’ legs are burning, but he doesn’t ever want this feeling to end. The pleasure is running through his whole body, sparking through his cock where it’s trapped between his and Nate’s bellies. It’s electric, but not in the way he’s used spells in the past for sex. This is purely physical, purely Nate’s thick cock in his arse and Nate’s teeth in his shoulder, and it’s amazing.
“Close,” Anders breathes.
Nate leans back enough to get one of his hands between their bellies. He grabs Anders’ cock and strokes it once, twice, and then Anders’ world explodes into stars as he comes, hard, and spills all over Nate’s hand.
Nate’s thrusts turn short and sharp, fucking Anders through the aftershocks, until his hips stutter and he, too, stills. They stand like that for a moment, Anders’ legs shaking and Nate panting hard against Anders’ collarbone, until slowly, gently, Nate pulls out.
Nate gently lowers Anders’ leg and helps steady him while he gets his feet back under him. “That was…”
“I’d definitely be up for a repeat performance,” Anders says. He feels lazy and sated, his body still tingling all over. He leans down and captures Nate’s mouth in one last, searing kiss. “Thank you.”
Nate chuckles. “Likewise.”
-
Rolan is awake when Anders slips back into the tent. “What took you so long?”
“Do you want a detailed description?” Anders laughs. “I came back, didn’t I?”
Rolan grumbles unintelligibly.
Anders stretches out in his blankets. He feels stretched and sore in a good way, and loose-limbed with fatigue. He touches the love bites under his collar, the bruises feeling almost more comforting than the perfect soreness in his arse.
He falls asleep within minutes.

Have you ever licked a lamppost in winter?
Tumblr media
*sips hard liquor from a “World’s Best Fandom” coffee mug*
Yes, you got it right, this is happening. Get comfortable there, in today’s episode we’re going to bust one of the most popular myths among cullenmancers of all time:
“Cullen can't be a virgin in DAI because he's hot, confident and 30”.
First of all, I’d like to point out that I’m very reluctant to the notorious image of DAI Cullen as a "chantry boy", which basically means the face of DAI Cullen slapped on the DAO Alistair character. As ironic as it may seem the main accomplishment of forcing this image was a creation of strong belief within the fandom that the virgin!cullen headcanon is something utterly AU-ish, existing only in the minds of those who’re into virginity kink. I’m going to give you another perspective on this popular viewpoint.
Tumblr media
The most common argument in defense of nonvirgin!cullen position sounds like:
“Cullen doesn’t act like a virgin in DAI”
I have two problems with this statement. First one is that this argument traditionally comes along with a comparison between DAI Cullen and DAO Alistair. The logical structure looks like: “Alistair was an awkward virgin in DAO. Cullen’s behavior in DAI is nothing alike. Therefore Cullen is not a virgin in DAI”. The mistake here is that Alistair’s behavior in DAO doesn’t define the behavior of every virgin in the world, not mentioning the fact that comparison between DAO Alistair and DAI Cullen is completely inappropriate. Don’t you think that it’s a little bit strange to expect the exact same behavior from a young and innocent boy and adult worn and torn guy just because both of them don’t have sexual experience?
The second problem I have is getting the “doesn’t act like a virgin” part. It sounds almost like there's some unified pattern of virgins' behavior when obviously there's none. The stereotype of a shy awkward virgin, incapable of saying two words without stuttering, is a powerful one but it is still a stereotype. Very blunt too, so it’s really surprising for me to see how many people are eager to fall for it. And just like any other stereotype, this one cannot be applied to everyone and certainly not to Cullen as a matter of fact. Cullen does act confident in DAI and the main reason for it is that he is mature first and foremost.
The lack of experience in sex alone doesn't nullify the general maturity.
I really don't know how to stress this enough. This is arguably the most bugging thing about the whole (non)virgin!cullen drama for me and the very reason why I decided to create this post. Cullen is confident because he's a mature, grown-ass man who's gone through ugly shit more than once and survived. He won't act like Alistair even if he is a virgin. It just doesn't work like this, okay? He's a mature adult, Alistair is a young innocent boy. And it has nothing to do with sexual experience. The concept of maturity is a little more complex than just the fact of having or not having sex in life. It's possible to be an irresponsible child with rich sexual life and a fully responsible adult without any sexual experience at all.
Lack of sexual experience is not equal innocence and Cullen is by no means innocent.
He's seen some shit, he's done some shit. Cullen has stable, fully developed personality, he mastered himself and earned his maturity hard way and that's exactly where his confidence comes from. Lack or existence of sex in his life is completely irrelevant for it.
Just to be perfectly clear: Cullen's confidence comes from his maturity, but his maturity doesn't come from lack or existence of sexual experience in his life.
________________________________________________________________
Now when we cleared this up let’s figure out why virgin!cullen headcanon is at least equal to nonvirgin!cullen and why you don’t have to be an adept of “virginity cult” to embrace it.
The main reason why Cullen can be a virgin in DAI lies in his tremendously traumatized background.
@aurianavaloria has a wonderful lore-friendly character research on the matter, so I strongly recommend to read it to be able to get the whole picture.
I have a serious problem with how lightly fandom treats serious topics such as PTSD and mental trauma in Cullen's biography. I've seen way too many people among both fans and haters who either ignore the Kinloch incident completely or perceive it like some small unfortunate event while it was actually a milestone in Cullen's personality formation. Just think about it - young innocent pup who'd never seen abominations or even death before had gone through horrific shit: loads of gruesome deaths of friends and people he was supposed to protect, severe mental and physical tortures and possibly even rape. And right after that instead of long and proper treatment, he got straight into hands of charismatic zealot who gave him some sort of crooked sympathy, nurturing his fears and hatred.
This kind of trauma is not something that can be overcome fast and easily and it certainly had a major impact on Cullen's personality development.
I’ve seen more than once the argument that:
“10 years is a long period of time, long enough to get over with PTSD. I can’t believe he didn’t have any action during that time, not necessarily something serious, but you know, just regular banging”.
Well, let me tell you one thing – one of the worst aspects of having PTSD is that side effects linger for a ridiculously long time, some never go away even if the person recovering in peace, surrounded by family and loved ones. Cullen didn’t have the luxury of recovering, he was forced to face his fears on the regular basis. The only thing that kept him sane was faith, in Maker and in the Order, represented by ‘”supportive” Knight-Commander. To think, his relationship with Meredith was a true deal with the devil. She showed him some kind of sympathy as she had the similar experience in her lifetime, and, what’s more important, showed him that there’s another path to prevent any further pain. The proper treatment he truly needed after events of the Broken Circle was replaced by the false purpose, based on fear and fanatical devotion to the duty and the Order. It did work but in a rather distorted way. Cullen’s recovery was like an improperly healed leg bone – painful, unstable, with lingering side effects, but at least he still could have been able to stand. And that’s exactly why I find it difficult to blame him for the notorious “magesarenotpeople” drama. It’s way too easy to brand him a villain in DAII, however, all I see there is a young broken person, clinging for the shards of sanity and trying to find the strength to go on after the severe trauma wherever he can, even in the blind zealotry. Was it a wrong way to go? Absolutely. Do I have a moral right to blame him for it? Not even close.
So, long story short, 10 years totally may be not long enough to overcome PTSD, especially under the circumstances of constant stress and fear. The things are even more complicated if there was a sexual assault of any form during the Broken Circle. Sex and PTSD is a whole different topic for another day, let’s just say that impacts of a mental trauma can make sexual life really tricky. That makes the “regular banging” part quite dubious, not mentioning that casual sex is not for everyone to begin with. Some people do it lightly, some people don’t do it at all, either way is absolutely normal for any gender. Whether Cullen is the “regular banging” type or not and how badly PTSD affected his post-Fereldan sexual life is up to one’s headcanons. Personally, I’ve seen no evidence during the series that allow to affirm that Cullen divides concepts “sex” and “sex in the relationship”. The main problem for me is that one needs to treat casual sex lightly to perform it, and Cullen’s attitude towards pretty much everything is anything but light. Almost everyone who ever speaks of him during the game mentions at some point that he’s very serious, if not uptight. Hell, even Quis herself can tell him during the wedding cutscene “Always so serious”. This image doesn’t really get along well with the concept of casual fucking in my mind. But this is just my take on the character anyway.
Of course, all of this above doesn't prove that Cullen is necessarily a virgin in the Inquisition but it does prove that he has every reason to be one. According to WOT Cullen's attitude during Kirkwall period was cold towards both mages and templars, he didn't want to let anyone in and had a damn good reason for it.
There's a very high possibility that Cullen could have chosen to close himself from any kind of close social interactions (sexual ones like casual banging included) to prevent any further pain after traumatic events of the past and there's nothing strange or wrong about that.
________________________________________________________________
For the record, I do recognize the power of headcanons and totally respect them. I have zero problems with the fact that some people don’t see Cullen as a virgin in DAI. That’s how headcanons work and I’m more than cool with it. What gives me cringe however is the fact that some people claim that Cullen can’t be a virgin in DAI just because it’s not “normal” for a 30 yo handsome man to be one. This is arguably the most toxic argument in defense of nonvirgin!cullen position ever. I won’t torment you with off-topic *virginity is a social concept* rant, instead of that I’ll just say that the modern world's concept of a 'normal guy' may not work in Thedas. I strongly doubt that the social pattern of a "normal man" who should lose his virginity in between his early teens and mid-20s is fully acceptable for Thedas. The society with the ultimate power of the religious organization is very likely to be less reluctant to the idea of adult virginity than the modern one. Chantry is presumed to have its members, templars included, virtuous. It's not required, yes, templars can marry and sex is not totally tabooed for people who serve the Chantry but apparently, physical temperance is a thing for andrastian religion (remember Alistair's memories of his Templar days or Sebastian's celibacy) and not considered as a deviation. My general point here is that meeting an adult virgin man in Thedas is more frequent occurrence and more acceptable social concept than it is in the modern world.
Speaking of Cullen in particular, the man can be a virgin in DAI because of his traumatized background, PTSD, and following lifestyle choices. Considering all that, you can see that the virgin!cullen headcanon has a bit more solid backup than just “cult of virginity” or “first-time-big-deal kink” and that’s exactly what makes the whole thing totally plausible. And yes, it is plausible.
The writer deliberately left the virgin/nonvirgin thing ambiguous and did a pretty good job with that I dare say. Every romance related scene with Cullen can be read either way. There’s not a single scene in the game that can categorically prove that Cullen is/isn’t a virgin.
O RLY? :
“Cullen laughed at Bull's dick joke - HALF-LIFE 3 NONVIRGINITY CONFIRMED”
Um, no? The only thing confirmed in this scene is that Cullen finds the joke amusing and that he actually has a sense of humor hidden deep underneath his usual polite cold attitude. Let's just assume he is a virgin in this scene. So why wouldn't he laugh? Because he's not able to get sexual context without actual experience? I don't think it works that way, getting jokes is about intelligence and sense of humor, you don't need to have the exact same experience mentioned in the joke to find it funny. Besides, look at Cullen's attitude in this scene again, it's not all that confident "good one, bro". He definitely feels uncomfortable, even more uncomfortable than Josie a.k.a. Ultimate Disney Princess, so this scene definitely doesn't seem like a solid proof of Cullen's sexual experience existence.
Yeah, that’s all good, BUT :
“He said that there’s nothing wrong with having a bit of fun – it proves that he is experienced!”
Once again, Cullen is an adult in Inquisition. He is aware of sexual intercourse existence and won’t faint or something just because he witnessed its aftermath. If he is still a virgin it’s not because he’s a prude or reluctant to the very idea of sex, but because of deep personal problems, caused by traumatic past. “Nothing wrong with having a bit of fun” can be a simple display of “live and let live” principle. For example, an asexual person can tell you “doing hardcore sex is totally ok if you’re happy with it”. Same idea here.
Bitch, please:
"Two words: Desk. Sex. Alistair is inexperienced. Cullen’s got moves. Fight me" “It’s not something a virgin would do” ”This is not the action of a virgin” “DESK SCENE”
Ok, we finally made it to the juiciest part of this episode. What could I possibly say against the almighty Desk Scene, the bastion of Commander’s Sexual Experience? Well, wonder no more – the answer is “conversation before it”. The paradox is – if Cullen’s pre-sex conversation would have been identical to Alistair’s I’d agree with y’all – the man is by no means a virgin. The guy tells the woman he loves how much he cares and asks her to spend a night with him here and now. After she says “yes” the guy fucks her mindlessly on the table. Very hot and yep, there’s definitely some experience right there. But it’s not what happened at all. Just rewatch the scene once again.
youtube
*video captured by Geek Remix
You do see the difference, right? He’s not asking to spend a night with him, he’s asking to spend a life with him.
He’s really tensed and frustrated all along, hesitating to ask the woman he loves to share a future with him because it seems «too much to ask». It’s a real commitment for him – to open up to someone first time in a very long time. He feels extremely vulnerable at this point and probably makes one of the hardest personal choices ever. He’s not even sure how to formulate his question because he’s afraid that he’s asking too much of her. And then she simply turns him towards her with the gentle “Cullen, do you need to ask?” as if she’s already made the decision he found difficult even to express.
Do you see how important for him this scene is? It’s not just “I totally want you here and now” moment, it’s “I totally love you and want you here and now” moment. The scene is hands down hot, but there’s so much more in it than just a simple steamy moment between two lovers. In fact, the sex itself is secondary in this scene, it’s more about feelings, acceptance and trust. What’s happening here is the guy who doesn’t consider himself as a good person asking the woman he deeply cares about to accept him with all his shit he’s constantly kicking himself for and become the part of his life. And she does. Unconditionally. The significance of this conversation for Cullen is so much greater than just “we’ll bang, ok?”, it means the end of the whole phase of his life, it means that he actually managed to get over with bitterness and chosen solitude after Kinloch, it means that he finally got a chance to live for himself with the person he loves by his side.
Mention that he didn’t start to rip her clothes off right after this realization, he’s still somewhat hesitant, the fists are clenched,“I suppose not. I want-”. Notice this little concerned pause after Quis knocks the bottle off his desk and then this one big “Fuck it” moment happens. Like all the pieces are suddenly fit - he trusts her, he loves her, he wants her, so no more doubts. The following *sweeping shit off the desk and expressing overwhelming feelings on top of the closest available surface* episode is an act of pure passion, fueled by strong feelings, that kind of passion when nothing except the person you truly want at this very moment matters, neither place nor past sexual experiences. And that’s why it’s completely irrelevant whether Cullen was a virgin prior to this scene or not.

Inquisitor as a Companion
Because I have no self control.
This is technically a mash up of 2 tags, the details of the Inqy companion and the banter can be found here and here.
Happy reading this is my son and I love him.
p.s Obviously Rivaini people wouldn’t use maker or Andraste as an exclamation SO since their society is ran by women I thought... why not make mother that kind of word.
Tumblr media
Inquisitor’s Name: Cassian Bijor
Race / Class / Specialisation: Elf, Mage, Shape-shifter
Gender Identity: Male
Varric’s Nickname for them: Shocker
Short bio: Cassian Bijor, and elf who is half Dalish with an Orliesian last name is no stranger to questioning looks. As the son of a Rivaini seeker, he is gifted in the magic arts and knowledge of the fade.
Childhood was average for the man (or, as average as it could be). A lingering jealousy caused by his twin sister being next in line to be seer caused a large rift between the two. His sister, Misha, was a rather naive and tender-hearted woman, and Cassian thought he should be the seer instead of her.
Nonetheless, Cassian followed Rivaini tradition and trained to become head guard of his seaside village. When news of the rift spread to Rivain, so did news of the Inquisition looking for those who might have more than average knowledge of the fade. Bored of his born-into living style, Cassian jumped at the opportunity to help the Inquisition stop this evil spread.
What would their companion card look like? Cassian would be deep water with only his nose and above visible. His black hair would be spread across the water like tendrils. While you see little of his face, his expression seems calm/serene. In the background it looks like the beginning of a lightning storm behind him.
Recruitment mission: After getting a certain amount of power, Leliana would approach the inquisitor about a friend of hers who has ample knowledge on the fade and spirits. The Inquisitor can accompany her to a tavern where Cassian would approach the two, hugging Leliana and introducing himself.
The recruitment dialogue would breakdown as follows:
Inquisitor I’ve been looking forward to meeting you. Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Cassian Bijor, son of Seer Aniha of Apricce. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
---> Inquisitor Option 1: You’re the one Leliana was talking about.
The one and only. Has she talked of me much? Miss me that dearly, honey? [Leliana: Only for you, Cassie.] Come Inquisitor, sit, I imagine you want to hear why I asked for you.
---> IO2: Pleasure to meet you too, Cassian.
I appreciate the politeness. Come, sit, I imagine you want to hear why I asked for you.
---> IO3: Ah, when Leliana said she had a friend I shouldn’t have expected someone normal.
...Ha. Sit. Let me tell you why I asked for you.
---> (If Mage): Son of a seer? Isn’t a Seer a guardian mage in Rivain?
Mm, yes, sort of. I’d consider a Seer more of a leader such as a mayor than a strict guardian. Nonetheless, sit, I imagine you want to hear why I asked for you.
---+++---
When I heard of the Inquisition, I was instantly taken by the cause, as I’m sure many are. I have extensive knowledge on the fade and would like to formally extend that knowledge to you. I understand you already have am, “expert” on the matter, but tell me, do you know what makes a Seer?
---> IO1: Does it work like nobility in Ferelden where power is passed down?
Ah, well, yes that too, but that is not the main reason. A seer will allow herself to become possessed by a benevolent spirit when of age. Only then can she have the power and wisdom to protect her village.
---> IO2: Do I look like I know that, elf.
I suppose not. I’ll talk slowly for you. A seer will allow herself to become possessed by a benevolent spirit. With the power of the spirit, she can be a Seer.
---> IO3: Because they won a lottery picked out from a funny hat?
I suppose that would be more entertaining, but no. To be transparent, it’s actually quite a serious act. A seer will allow herself to become possessed by a benevolent spirit when of age. Only then can she have the power and wisdom to protect her village.
(If Solas is in the party, he’ll interject. “They let their seers become possessed by spirits, Inquisitor.”)
Neatly put, stranger. That is, in short, what happens.
---+++---
[Cassian Joins The Inquisition.] Sounds fun if anything. I’d like to have you on.
[Cassian Does Not Join The Inquisition.] You really think I’d let someone who allows possession in my Inquisition? No.
Where they would be in Skyhold / Haven:
Haven: Sitting in the tavern reading through a stack of books.
Skyhold: A table on the second floor of the tavern, reading a larger stack of books.
Personal quests:
Quest 1: Twin, Interrupted - Cassian gets a panicked note from his twin sister, Misha, who says she’s being held hostage by a group of cult-like templars who want to put her into a homemade circle. Cassian begs the Inquisitor to help him rescue his sister from the deranged group who holds her. After rescuing her she tells that she came to Fereldan looking for her brother. Their mother has started acting very strangely and she didn’t know what to do. Cassian leaves the inquisition until Skyhold. [Can’t initiate full romance unless this quest is complete and has to be done before leaving Skyhold]
Quest 2: Sheep’s Clothing, Wolf’s Call - Cassian returns to the Inquisition with his face scars and falls into a soldier’s arms. He’s taken to an infirmary where the Inquisitor tries to confront him about his absence, but he’s found to be in a coma. The Inquisitor can find a special plant through finding it on missions or a Leliana war table mission to give to Cassian and revive him. When given a poultice version of the plant, Cassian, after a bit of rest, reveals that his mother has been possessed by a demon. He tried taking care of it himself but he didn’t have it in him to kill his mother. Cassian instead held his now demon mother in a self made prison in a cave as to keep her from the village. Eventually he got too weak and had his sister keep her back while he went back the inquisition for help. Cassian tells the Inquisitor how he feels ashamed of his mother and is always criticized for his religion so he didn’t want to reveal his mother is one of the few Seer’s to succumb to temptation.
The Inquisitor can validate Cassian and help him deal with the situation.
There's a romance option here, where Inq can say he should never be ashamed of who he is and they personally quite like it. He kisses Inq and they’re now locked in his romance.
The Inquisitor can reject helping Cassian. Cassian will disappear until a certain amount of power reached and reports of a large bear is reported in the Hinterlands. If the Inquisitor goes to the Hinterlands to defeat the bear, on the bear’s body is a note written by Cassian saying he has nothing to live for. It’s heavily implied the bear the Inquisitor just killed is Cassian.
Quest 3: Death Comes In... - If helping Cassian he takes the Inquisitor and companions to the cave. His sister Misha and father Lemren are outside the cave, his sister casting a large shield at the mouth of the cave. Cassian dismisses his sister who is very physically tired and is helped by their father to rest. Lemren then explains to the group that the twins’ mother had started acting out of sorts a little after Cassian joined the inquisition. The group all advance into the cave (Lemren comes along, he’s a rogue with a bow and arrow). Aniha, possessed by a hunger demon, initiates a fight in her human form. When under a certain health point, Aniha will stop fighting and try to spark a deal with the group. The hunger demon from within says it will leave Aniha willingly if it can ravage the unsuspecting village she was the seer for in Rivain.
Option 1: If the deal is taken, the village is doomed for everyone in it to die. This also makes the Bijor family pariahs in Rivain and are ran out of the country. They stay in an alienage outside of Orlais instead of Rivain.
Option 2: If the deal isn’t taken, the hunger demon takes it’s true form and essentially becomes a boss battle. When defeated, it’s seen that the hunger demon targeted Lemren and Misha whom are mortally wounded. Lemren can be offered to become a warden but refuses. Aniha, Lemren, and Misha all die within this option, but the village in Rivain is saved and Cassian isn’t run out of his home country.
How to get their approval:
Recruit Cole [Greatly Approves]
Turning Cole human gets a Slightly Approves
Choosing the mages [Greatly Approves]
Allying with the mages earns Approves
Disband the Templars [Approves]
Help Vivienne with her main personal quest. [Slightly approves]
Side with mages in pretty much any instance
Have an open mind about the fade or magic in general
Inquire about Rivain or express an interest in going one day
How to get their disapproval:
Turn away Cole [Greatly Disapproves]
Choosing the Templars [Disapproves]
Allying earns Slightly Disapproves
Make the mages your soldiers instead of allies [Greatly Disapproves]
Leave Hawke behind in the fade [Disapproves]
Be mean to Sera or Cole
Are they romanceable? Yes, but getting to the romance is a kinda slowburn lmao. Can also be romanced by anyone. But there will be a cutscene that changes depending on race where he gives them a token of affection that relates to their culture.
Can you have sex with them? Yes, a bit before the final battle if you talk to him a scene will trigger
Are they open to polyamoury? Sort of. He’s technically open but extremely picky. The only person in Inquisition I can even kind of see that happening with is with Bull.
If they can be romanced and are not, will they begin a relationship / relationships with other character(s)? If so, who? Canonically he romances Bull, so sorry adoribull shippers Cassian will snatch him up.
Who are they friendly with? Leliana, Vivienne, Cole, Morrigan, Bull
Who do they dislike? Dorian, Solas, Cullen
Companion card changes:
Loyalty: After the 2nd personal quest, his card goes to him completely submerged with his hands up out the water. His black hair almost completely fills the water around him. When all of his personal quests are completed the card changes for a last time to him about ankle deep in the water, emptying a jug that seems to be filled with that water. His hair is shorter now and less wily, but completely covers his face.
Romance: Instead of being face deep in water, he’s now completely out of it. He also appears to be leaning over a figure and cradling them. The black tendril hair is still there and it seems to be wrapping itself around them. He’s wearing a slightly open golden robe. The storm from earlier is completely over them, but it seems like a ray of sun shines down on just them.
Side Missions: (eg: fetch / gather / kill quests) Probably random quests to find memorabilia of his home country. If you haven’t noticed he loves the place.
Opinions on mages / templars / how the world is going to shit? Like everyone he pretty much in panic mode. He doesn’t really understand what the mages go through but has clear sympathy for them. As someone who wasn’t raised by the chantry one iota he doesn’t understand the templars and the Andrastien religion, like, at all.
Something guaranteed to make them leave the party: Being mean to Cole is like the quickest way to stack disapproval, so.
Special Events:
Imprisoned at Redcliffe: How is your Inquisitor holding up in Redcliffe, being slowly infected with red lyrium over the course of a year? He’s barely lucid, probably. He can get enough thought collected to follow the inquisitor and throw some spells but he just wants to die.
At the Winter Palace: Does your Inquisitor enjoy the party, any special events with them at the Palace? He would have never experienced anything as grand and would fumble his way through the complicated manners.
In the Fade: Your Inquisitor’s reaction upon entering the Fade? Archdemon’s taunt, and Inquisitor’s response? Epitaph on their grave? The taunt would be his hidden regret yet jealousy towards his sister. He hates that he couldn’t be seer, but also feels guilty because he knows his sister didn’t want it either. He held resentment towards her for several years. Also his fear would take the shape of himself possessed. The tombstone was a little bit of a tough one. I think, in the end, it would say corruption.
Trespasser: What is your Inquisitor up to two years after Corypheus’ defeat? Any special events with them over the events of Trespasser? This all depends on the personal quests endings. Obviously if you deny helping him in quest 2, he dies. If his family survives, he moves to the alienage they’re in in Trespasser and ends up dying on a missionary mission, squalid and poor (he also breaks up with the Inquisitor like right at the end of Trespasser). If the village is saved, and not romanced, he joins the chargers and ends up with bull. If romanced, he and the Inquisitor do odd work in Rivain and live in a lil cottage.
Banter
Cole’s reflection on their thoughts: Confusion, guilt, longing, rage... Rage. Rage. Past lives, past actions, so much anger compartmentalized into a tender heart. He wonders what life would be life if he could be as soft as he once was. He wants to be that innocent, that pure, that untouched. A mother’s touch fades away. It’d been years since someone hugged him.
Damn the fade.
Comment(s) on Mages: “These ignorant souls. They have no idea what good they could do in the world, trapped in those towers.”
Comment(s) on Templars: “What is the point of this sect of guard? Rivain has existed for centuries without them, yet they act so scandalized when I tell them that fact.”
When looking for something: “Shall I cast a locating spell?”
When finding a campsite: “Ah, a place to rest our heads.”
When the Inquisitor Falls: “Attention to the inquisitor!”
When they are low on Health: “I’m falling back!”
When they see a Dragon:
[First time seeing a dragon with him in the party] “Sweet Mother… I’ve never seen a dragon before. They really are magnificent.”
“Poor creatures, trapped in their own powerful body. I wish we could domesticate them.”
When during their small side quest: “I truly appreciate this, Inquisitor”
Default Saying:
Hostile/Cold/Neutral
“Yes, Inquisitor?”
“Inquisitor, may I help?”
“I have a moment.”
Warm/Friendly
“Hello you!”
“My friend, something you need?”
“Of course I have a moment.”
Romanced
“Hello, beautiful boy/girl.”
“Always glad to see you, mi vida.”
Travel Banter with Canon Companions of your choice:
[Varric] You mad at me, Shocker?
[Cassian] Beg pardon?
[Varric] You always look at me with this face that says, “I’ll bury you alive if you step too close.”
[Cassian] That’s just my face, Varric.
----
[Cassian] So, Blackwall, I saw you woodworking the other day. You seem quite talented.
[Blackwall] (Sputters on breath) You- you were watching me? When? Where?
[Cassian] (Sigh) Still scared of me, are you.
[Blackwall] ...I apologize.
[Cassian] Don’t bother. I still don’t know why Sera told you that scary story about my supposed ghost friends.
----
If Not Romanced
[The Iron Bull] Hng!
[Inquisitor] Something wrong, Bull?
[The Iron Bull] Cass just shocked me!
[Cassian] He pinched my bottom. But that didn’t sound like a noise of pain, did it.
[The Iron Bull] Ha, nah, it really wasn’t.
[Literally Everyone] (GROANS)
---
If Romanced
[Cassian] Ahem, please do take time and remember to be careful.
[Inquisitor] Hm? Have I hurt myself recently?
[Cassian] The fact that you can’t keep track of your injuries is enough evidence you need to be more cautious, Mi Vida.
Friendship?: “Ah, the faithful Inquisitor. It’s good to see you again, friend.”
Leaving the Inquisition: “I thought... I thought the inquisition was different. You were different. Mother... why did I leave Rivain. I apologize, inquisitor, but I can no longer accompany you in good faith. Goodbye.”

DA4 Cameos and Companions
I wanted to address this, since I really liked this post by @quizzy-tielle but there are a few more notes that can be added. tdlr at the bottom, under the read more.
Origins
Alistair: Alistair will probably only have a Cameo since he has two different paths (Warden or King), but I could see him being plot relevant. Maybe only a Warden like in DA2, even if it is possible for him to “die” in DA:I. This is because DA:I leaves that open if they want to “retcon” it. The words used in the choice implies you might be leaving Alistair to his death, there is an open end there. Especially since we don’t see his dead body only what looks like him going down. On the other hand, it has been a while since his Joining and unless he is like his mother (or the dragon’s blood theory is true), then he is almost due for his Calling. So if Al is there in DA4, expect him in Grey Warden regalia.
Morrigan: I don’t think Morrigan will ever be a Companion player again, but she will be a major npc no matter where the game takes place. Not only is she headed where we are supposed to be, but she is now carrying some of the last remnants of Mythal whether in her head (depending on who drank the Well) or in her blood.
Leliana: If our game does actually take place in Tevinter, I think she might get a mention at best. Either by reminiscent characters or in the grand scheme of things. I don’t see her playing to much part unless some of the game returns to Orlais, in which case as a Divine she could very well pop up. As well as still being interested/running the Inquisition’s spies against Solas (I believe even as the Divine), so again a peripheral character. That said I’d really be interested to see if Lyrium Ghost Leliana pops up anywhere!
Wynne: Wynne has actually died by Asunder; leaving not a character no one cares about, but one that even if people wanted her she is unable to return. Unless as a spirit of course. That said it is not out of the question to meet her son Rhys and perhaps recruit him as a companion, along with his Templar sweetheart Evangeline.
Oghren: I could have seen Oghren returning when the team consisted of mostly the old writers. But with Weekes in charge and a few new writers around, I agree he is probably too lowbrow and overlooked (even among the writers) to pop up again. At the very most, if at all, it’ll be a quick mention somewhere.
Zevran: I agree that Zevran possibly being dead makes it hard, but honestly if I don’t get to see Zev once in this new engine. I will move to Canada just to stand outside Bioware studios and scream continuously at them till the day I perish. Zevran deserves more and if Leliana can resurrect, why not our favorite elven assassin.
Sten: Sten is actually a pretty popular character, only he doesn’t go by Sten anymore. Well at least not for most people. Which is where the conflict comes in. For anyone who earned Sten’s loyalty, he is Arishok now. Which big Qunari plot means definite appearance by the Arishok. However, I don’t see him being a companion, at best he would be a NPC ally. On the other hand, those who didn’t help Sten left him without the Qun...unless he went back and became Arishok later (after the Warden) which is a very easy work around.
Shale: I could actually see Shale being a companion. I mean they can reuse at least one (even in DA2, Nathaniel was going to be a return companion but they scraped it). Shale was a character a lot of people liked, but being a DLC character was underexplored. She was last seen heading to Tevinter to discover how to be a dwarf again. So golem, dwarven, or a mix of the two, Shale is a huge possibility.
Hero of Ferelden: Bioware has pretty much confirmed the Warden won’t be back in full capacity ever. Mostly because creating a unvoiced major character is very hard, when they once spoke (unable to make canonically mute) and finding a voice is no solution (they wouldn’t be able to appease enough people, no matter the actor). Which pretty much seals it as, if the Warden shows up, it is in a written or spoken about capacity and nothing more.
Dragon Age 2
Carver/Bethany: It would be such a guilt pleasure if they did show up, but I highly doubt they would and certainly not as a companion. They have too many outcomes and possible paths, it’ll probably be like in DA:I where they get a special mention. OR if Bioware was really clever, they’d make an obscure Warden in the background look like them but obscure enough they can handwave it as “no, but maybe”. Either way, might show up in the Weisshaupt storyline as a special mention, but not much more.
Fenris: I agree with the other post, that Fenris is the one person who would be the one most likely to pop up. I still don’t think as a companion, because he can die. But I do think he could be an ally NPC. Fenris either gets sent back to Danarius or has spent the past years hunting down slavers, so he is bound to be in or near Tevinter. I have almost no doubt we’ll see him, physically, at least once. Though I wouldn’t rule out him being a Weisshaupt too, if he romance Hawke and Hawke wasn’t left in the Fade.
Isabela: Isabela has been in every game so far and if they don’t continue this in DA4 I will be upset. Seriously, it’s like an expectation now. Every DA game is like sex, it’s fun, there is depth, and Isabela is there. Maybe as a companion, maybe as an NPC, or a extra to the cause. Don’t care, she just has to be there now. It’s a signature. Which...if we can get her in her sick Captain’s outfit again, more kudos to them.
Merrill: Hmmm, I don’t know about Merrill. She is such a good and well liked character, and I really need her to interact with Solas. BUT she had far more reason to be in DA:I, in a game that most likely will take place in Tevinter and surrounding area...I’m not sure where she’d fit. Not as a companion I don’t think. Maybe a cameo in Weisshaupt or when dealing with Solas stuff, but even then, her investment in those things seems a bit weak. The most likely place for me, would be dealing with the Eluvians or maybe even helping run an elven slave underground...kind of. But it would really depend where the game chooses to focus (on Tevinter, Solas, Weisshaupt, all 3 equally by some miracle).
Anders: I think at this point, everyone who loves Anders wants Anders back and safe, but also doesn’t want him to be touch by Bioware anymore. And anyone who hates Anders has either killed him or hoped that he was dead...so... Mixed feelings and mixed ideas. I don’t think he’ll ever be a companion again, Bioware learned their lesson (kind of considering Sera). But also being the entire world’s [of Thedas’s] scapegoat for the Mage War/Mage Split, I’m 99.9% sure we haven’t heard the last of some saying something bias, pretty much untrue, and absolutely scathing about him.
Aveline: She is helping run Kirkwall, which is where she belongs. If the game reaches out to the Free Marches, a glimpse or mention of her is sure to be heard. After all, she is the biggest badass there at the moment. Her days on the screen are probably over though, she was a good character but not one interesting enough to last past a single game of screen time. That said, I’d love to see her side-story with the Du Lacs actually revisited at some point, give us a deep Investigative story with her.
Varric: I mean I have to agree with quiz tielle, it pains me but his days as a companion are probably over. That said, I absolutely believe he’ll still have a large role to play. For starters, he is still our storyteller. Thedas’ storyteller and I highly doubt he’ll miss a chance to write out all of Thedas’ major historical events into eye-catching adventure novels till the day he dies. He may be a played out companion (can’t relate) but he isn’t dead and he is still an adventurer at heart, no matter how much he complains about the outdoors. All that aside, he is cousin to probably the most important, incredibly attractive magister in Tevinter right now, Maevaris Tilani (Tethras). I can definitely believe he’ll pop in to say hello and maybe scoop up a story or two, during DA4.
Sebastian: I’m not sure, I forget how his War Table mission plays out...but also not to offend any diehard Seb fans or anything...but he is shit and if he returns I’ll want to punch him. I mean he tried to overtake Kirkwall, for no reason than his own pride and probably a political move to strength his own country. It’s a Free Marcher thing, sure. But still, Sebastian Vael can get stuffed. That so awfully said, if he does come back I’ll still have a good time. Which serious for a moment, I don’t know why he would. Unless like I said we return to the Free Marches for whatever reason.
Tallis?: I have no idea if we have seen the last of her or not. I mean according to DA2 we haven’t and she was a War Table in Inquisitiion. So I suppose if there is a Qunari plot in DA4, you’d expect see her there. But I don’t know how there she’ll be...she could even be a companion. It’s a possibility, but I don’t expect it as a strong one.
Hawke: Hawke is definitely coming back, I don’t know when and I don’t know where but they will. I don’t say this as someone who loved their Hawke tho. I say this because Weisshaupt’s storyline seems to weigh on Hawke’s presence (if they escaped, they said that is where they are headed) and again, like I said in Alistair the decision to leave them behind in the Fade wasn’t final. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised in if in the obligatory Fade mission we ran into a Hawke that got left behind, half dead but still trucking along with that Purple Hawke smirk on their face. “You look like wyvern shit, Hawke.”  “You would know.”
Dragon Age Inquisition
Josephine: I think if the Inquisition is there, Josephine is definitely going to be there in some regard. Even if it is a few letters lying around. She’ll be less relevant that she was in Inquisition though, well unless you romanced her. She still has a family to take care of, plus all that new trade and a few diplomatic graces. A lot for her to take on, plus a maybe slave rebellion?
Cullen: Cullen time has come, I don’t think Cullen wants a thing to do with Tevinter cause mages and honestly I’m glad. I mean yeah, he was the white boy version of Isabela’s cameo, but far less entertaining with his anti-mage, but they’re sorta of okay rhetoric. A little salty, yeah. Cause Bioware had 3 chances to get him to a better place (aka make him a great character with growth), but never got there. So as much as I’d love to see them try and fail to make him a better person one more time, it’s time to let him rest. With his slightly changed notions, his lyrium detox facility, and his dog. That rant over, he could be there in the same capacity as Josephine. A few letters and a little something extra for romancers.
Blackwall: A hard one...in theory Blackwall could make a comeback during the Grey Warden plot, Bioware hyped up. He could even be a true Grey Warden companion this time. However, he has a lot of variables and that makes it hard to bring him back as a return character. He could have died, he could have been saved and hidden, or he could have been saved and made a Grey Warden. Not to mention adding romances and whether he got the Grey Warden epilogue or the “prison counselor” epilogue.
Cassandra: I think Cassandra will have the same role/handling as Leliana honestly. She won’t be a companion, but we will see her interacting with the Inquisitor. Divine or not, she is still helping them with Solas. Though we might not actually interact with her, unless Orlais. Again like Leli.
Iron Bull: Another difficult one. On one hand, he could be dead and that is the end of. On the other he could be with Dorian, who I’ll get to in a minute. I think it’ll be a bit easier though, because they can use him like they did Stroud. If he is alive and helping Dorian (or the Inquisitor) then he can show up, be his usual self. Make references to the past game and his Chargers. If he is dead, then he has a blank stand-in that we kind of get to know during the rest of the game, but never to the extent that we know/knew Bull. That said, he is definitely not becoming a companion. Only two characters with a possible death have ever became companions again after said moment, and I think the fact it happens in the same game leaves Carver and Bethany in a completely different category.
Dorian: Alright, if we were ever going to have a returning companion it will probably be Dorian. I have to agree with the assumption. Because Dorian is Tevinter. He’s the good, the bad. The parts that need change, but also the parts that should be praised. He was singled out for this in Inquisition. It was focused on heavily about him being the new Tevinter ambassador. Of him and Mae taking Tevinter by storm. Their reformation of the Magisterium. They even gave him a plot item, that seemed unnecessary and yet provided a link. Which I’m talking about his sending crystal/magic cellphone. It was endearing and also telling. Why need a crystal when letters work too? And I highly doubt it was just to introduce the idea for fun...I’m getting carried away on my favorite boy. What I mean to say, is Dorian, if not a companion, will be a huge player in the next game. Assuming they are still sending us to Tevinter as planned. Not just because he was so loved, which he way. Or because he is an utterly striking, handsome character, which he is. But because Dorian is a major player in Tevinter as is, trying to change his country and you don’t just go to a country and not meet the most influential of them all.
Solas: Oh boy, I have so much to say about this. First off, I don’t agree with the other post. I don’t think Solas will be the biggest villain this game, this time around. Unless Weekes is really enamored with getting that story out of the way, which he might be. I think he’ll be a smaller big bad in the grand scheme of things, whereas he was the big bad in Inquisition (literally all that happened because of him). I think it’d be interesting to see him as a return companion though. Like yes, we all know who he is. But to our new character? Maybe he is just a revolutionist, maybe he was the one who freed them (if they go the slave plot for the PC). Another chance for him to play the PC and we have to watch it happen. But also, we have to figure out why he’d help us with this rebellion (again relies on the slave plot being used) when he has no horses in the race. I don’t know, it is a possibility and a frustrating, but interesting one.
Vivienne: If she is Divine, I don’t see her doing anymore that Cassandra or Leliana in the position. And again, very dependent on if we go to Orlais. Maybe more so, since she wasn’t a founding agent of the Inquisition like Leliana and Cassandra. However, if the Mage College/Circles of Magi issue is more prominent than I think it will be in DA4, then she might show up a bit more than usual. Still don’t think she’ll be a big role or ally to the main character though.
Cole: I don’t agree with Cole not fighting people, but I do agree that he has other things to worry about that the PC in DA4. That said, when it comes to Solas I feel like Cole will be back instantly. Solas and Cole were incredibly close (for a few reasons I can theorize, coughelves=spiritscough), and he was one of the few who actually wanted to save Solas. So if he is there, he is there for his friends and Solas only. Which means no companionship from him.
Sera: I can’t see Sera giving it a try in Tevinter, for so many reasons. Unless the Inky asks her of course. Every thing from the elves, many who just accept their lives. To the magic, to the lack of friends due to brainwashing and fear. It’s just not an environment Sera would enjoy or even want to be it. But if Orlais is still playing a big part in the next game, I’m sure we’ll turn up the Val Royeaux Jenny eventually. Or like I said, if Inky needs her. I doubt she’ll have much to do with the main character though.
Inquisitor: They’ll be there. In some shape or form they’ll show up, that I have no doubt of. How or when will be a mystery. It might be in the form of speaking to Dorian through the sending crystal (removes the need for a CC) or it might be as a Major Ally (i.e. Hawke in Inquisition). I don’t think the story will center around them as much as we think or would like though. Since this isn’t another Inquisitor story, but our new PC’s story.
Tldr:
As far as I believe, there could be a ton of cameos from almost anybody. Seriously, there are maybe 3 who won’t come back and none of them are the Wardens or Hawkes left in the Fade.
The only one from DAO I could see being a companion is Shale, but Sten/Arishok deserves a mention if the Qunari War Plot is going to be as important as we’ve been led to think.
From DA2, I can only see Tallis as a companion, again due to the supposed Qunari War plot. But I’m sure we’ll see Fenris, Varric, Hawke, and Isabela again somewhere in DA4.
Inquisition provides the most likely return companion, Dorian. I could see Solas or Blackwall returning as a companion, but I don’t think they truly beat out Dorian in the amount of importance and content we could get from a returning character by our side. Since Inquisition is the newest game, I especially see most if not all of the characters making some form of cameo.
Some Special Mentions I want to throw out there too. I imagine Calpernia will still be relevant in some way to the story. As she is also someone who wants to redeem Tevinter (in her own way) and could not be killed by the Inquisitor, even being a villain in their game.
Marius, Tessa, and Charter all seem to relevant, recurring characters in the extended media. I wouldn’t be surprised if they roles in the next game. Especially given Marius’s ties to Tevinter and Calpernia
If we don’t have Maevaris Tilani as a companion, after all of this, I will be shocked and scandalized. She has been another character that has both importance in Tevinter and seems to hold importance to the writers (though how this will go now that her main writer, David Gaider has left I don’t know. Weekes still has access to them and he should use it).
We haven’t yet seen the end of Valta...and perhaps Renn. I’m not sure Bioware will approach more dwarven concepts in DA4, but one can hope. Even more so, since I want to see what happened to Valta and just what is happening with the Titans.

Inquisitor as a Companion!
I was tagged to do this a long time ago, and I can no longer remember who the tag was from. Anyway, it’s finished! And it was SUPER fun to write. Thank you for the tag, whoever you are <3
Tumblr media
Inquisitor’s Name: Revasan Lavellan Race / Class / Specialisation: Dalish Elf/Warrior/Two-handed Gender Identity: Male
Varric’s Nickname for them: The Farmer, The Psychopath
Short bio: Revasan Lavellan is the Archivist and First of Clan Lavellan out of Ansburg, the Free Marches. Raised on a wealthy, isolated compound of Dalish farmers, distillers, and liquor distributors, Revasan is highly intelligent and possesses a shrewd business acumen. A historian and explorer in his blood, he speaks ancient elvhen and, in his younger days, used to dive elvhen ruins for the purposes o his research. He is thirty-eight years old, has been married to his wife Rasha for twenty years, and has one daughter, Sene, who is Clan Lavellan’s head huntress and #2 shit-talker (after Revasan of course). He drinks a lot of whiskey and is a heavy smoker of both tobacco and elfroot. He is highly assertive and an extrovert with a hidden compassion beneath his immediate bluster and high factor of intimidation.
What would their companion card look like? Probably him smoking, looking away and holding a glowing gold coin. But he’s not holding it toward the viewer. He’s holding it close to him. Behind him will be stacks of barrels, as if he is standing in a distillery. One of the barrels will be on fire.
Recruitment mission: “The Inquisition needs researchers,” says Josephine. With the Breach in full effect, and Solas busy in the field, it’s important to fill out the ranks with credible scholars who can dedicate a large amount of time and mental resources to the sussing out of what the fuck is going on. The Inquisition also needs deep pockets, and it needs…interesting connections sure to be untapped by the greedy hands of Orlesian and Fereldan nobility.
Cue Varric, sighing deeply, who suggests, with hesitance, that they get in touch with the Lavellans (aka the “booze elves of Ansburg,” lots of money, lots of power). “Revasan Lavellan is a good guy,” he says, sort of like he can’t believe he’s suggesting it. “He’s a bit of a psycho, but a good guy. He’s smart, well-connected, and brave as all hell. Not to mention, rich and an elf. He’d be a valuable asset to any rogue fledgling organization like the Inquisition…if you can stomach his particular eccentricities.” He is a diplomat’s dream. Josephine and the Inquisitor both jump at the prospect.
To recruit Revasan, the Inquisitor must travel to the Hanged Man tavern of Kirkwall, where he can be found chain smoking, playing cards with a table of surface Dwarves, swearing obscenely, and a little drunk. Just before approaching him, a couple of bad characters enter the bar and start harassing the lady barkeep, demanding free booze or they’ll start shit. Revasan casually dips his cigarette, summons them into the open, and beats the living shit out of them both. The Inquisitor is welcome to assist, but Rev needs little assistance. “He’s smart and he can navigate his way through a bar fight,” says the Inquisitor, fully enamored.
Revasan will initially be suspicious and highly questioning of any Inquisitor, regardless of race. He will use his influence and appear somewhat aloof, but it is clear he trusts Varric, who is a very old friend. He will be most trusting of a Dwarven Inquisitor, most curious toward a Qunari, dismissive of a Dalish Inquisitor (a total power play), and make merciless good fun of any Andrastian human. If Solas is in the party, he’ll comment on how he doesn’t look or seem like any elf he’s ever met. If Varric is in the party, he’ll invite him to a drink and refuse to speak to the Inquisitor until after the drink is finished.
Where they would be in Skyhold / Haven: In Haven, you’d find him in the Chantry, hanging out in the open, near Vivienne. In Skyhold, he’d be in the library, reading, smoking, and disheveled. Sometimes, his wife will be there with him. But for any personal quests, the Inquisitor will typically find him in the Herald’s Rest.
Personal quests:
Quest 1: The Redheaded Boon, in which you must bring his wife and daughter safely to Skyhold. They’re feisty! And Sene is prone to disappearance. Watch out!
Quest 2: Fucking Idiot, in which you must use Inquisition influence to get his brother Ellas out of jail in Highever. Ellas is a bit of a loose canon. This will require some…diplomacy.
Quest 3: The Farmer’s Errand. Assist Keeper Deshanna Lavellan in the successful purchase of 300 acres of fertile farmland in the Coastlands of Ferelden. You want a financial investment from the Lavellans? There are strings, Pinocchio.
How to get their approval: Be honest, even if it gets you into trouble or earns the disapproval of others. Even if he disagrees with your choice, he will still approve of your actions as long as you take them because you believe in them. Also, any casual assistance of Dalish elves or working class people who are generally struggling, he approves. He approves of chivalry and an honorable code. He approves of intellectual curiosity as well, a little like Solas. He approves if you listen to him and hang out with him, because he’s an extrovert, but he would also like you to share information about yourself with him as well. He needs to know that he can trust you.
How to get their disapproval: Basically, if you are trying to curry favor with someone (ie: another companion), and you let this cloud your choices, he’ll disapprove. If you lie to him, he’ll disapprove. (He always knows.) He’ll disapprove of power-hungry Inquisitors and refuse to work with them if their belligerence tips over into greed. He’ll disapprove of narrow-mindedness, even though he, himself, can be somewhat narrow-minded. He’ll disapprove if you tell him he should stop drinking/smoking for any reason. He’ll see this as sort of foolish pettiness and a power play that cannot be won. He’ll disapprove of poor moral fiber and any curbing of moral boundaries to take the “easy” way out. He will disapprove if you exile the Wardens. He distrusts the Wardens, but his wife trusts them, and her whole family died in the Fifth Blight, and she feels safer with them around. He will also leave the Inquisition permanently if the Inquisitor slays the Sentinels at the Temple of Mythal. ALSO: If the Inquisitor fails to speak to Revasan and/or to complete his first personal quest while at Haven, he will greatly disapprove the first time you approach him at Skyhold. He’ll tell you that he will be unavailable to help any further until his wife and daughter are safely in his midst.
Are they romanceable? No. His wife would be a secondary character who you would be able to talk to and interact with at Skyhold. So would his daughter. Can you have sex with them? No. Are they open to polyamoury? No. If they can be romanced and are not, will they begin a relationship / relationships with other character(s)? If so, who? No, but if the Inquisitor does NOT romance Solas, Solas will end up in a relationship with Revasan’s daughter Sene. This will greatly impact his opinion of Solas at the end of Trespasser.
Who are they friendly with? Solas, Cassandra, Sera, and Vivienne.
Who do they dislike? No one really? He will secretly distrust Blackwall and question him constantly, but once Blackwall comes clean, he will forgive him, because he believes that it was a difficult decision to make, and that his bravery in coming clean means he has strong integrity as a man.
Companion card changes: (use a text descrip. if you have no images)
Loyalty: A family portrait in which Revasan is standing between his red-headed wife and red-headed daughter. He will be holding a glass of whiskey out to you, the viewer, as if to toast. Vines will be crawling all over in the background to imply your connection to a great tradition of Dalish farmers.
Romance: (if any) N/A
Side Missions: (eg: fetch / gather / kill quests) He’ll ask you to collect a lot of Royal Elfroot. He will demand to meet with prominent Dalish clans in every appropriate region. In Trespasser, he will be very interested in collecting ancient texts from the ruins in the Crossroads. If there is a bar in the village where you’re at, he’ll want to go there and will disapprove if you don’t.
Opinions on mages / templars / how the world is going to shit? Rev doesn’t care for the Chantry, but he knows how to deal with them. The Lavellan clan has no mages, and so they have worked closely with the Templars for protection ever since the Mage Rebellion in Kirkwall. He distrusts magic because he does not know it, but he is quick to come around and approves of an alliance with the mages, if only because he finds it to be a real fucking problem that there’s a Tevinter magister who thinks he as any right to any faction in Ferelden.
Something guaranteed to make them leave the party: As earlier stated, he will permanently leave the Inquisition if the Inquisitor orders the slaying of the Sentinels at the Temple of Mythal. If this happens, the Inquisition will receive a major financial blow by losing the support of the Lavellens, forcing them to seek more corrupt means of funding for their operation. This will color the Inquisition’s reputation at the Exalted Council and make things significantly more difficult for Josephine.
Special Events:
Imprisoned at Redcliffe: How is your Inquisitor holding up in Redcliffe, being slowly infected with red lyrium over the course of a year? He’s not there. He’s not alive. If Solas, Vivienne, or Cassandra are in the party, they will explain that Revasan took his own life after learning that his family was murdered by demons. You will have the choice of telling this to him or not when you return to Skyhold. If you tell him, he will become sad but approve of your honesty. If you don’t, he will know you’re lying, disapprove, and this will persuade you to tell him anyway. Sorry, he’s kind of impossible.
At the Winter Palace: Does your Inquisitor enjoy the party, any special events with them at the Palace? Revasan will be hanging out with Solas. They can often be seen discussing something privately. They will cease their discussion when then inquisitor approaches, so you never quite get to hear what it is; however, once in earshot, one can briefly overhear Revasan bitching about the total lack of elves who aren’t servants or working class in Halamshiral.
In the Fade: Your Inquisitor’s reaction upon entering the Fade? Archdemon’s taunt, and Inquisitor’s response? Epitaph on their grave? Revasan would react with utter incredulity upon first entering the Fade. He will be terrified and this will manifest as anger. However, once he realizes he can manipulate and control his surroundings, he calms down, becomes deeply interested in any scientific and magical explanations for what is going on, and at some point professes he would like to stay for at least six months to conduct research. He will volunteer to stay behind and fight the Fear Demon, but the Inquisitor will swiftly dismiss his request.
Trespasser: What is your Inquisitor up to two years after Corypheus’ defeat? Any special events with them over the events of Trespasser? Revasan will have gone back to Ansburg to his clan’s farm after the defeat of Corypheus, but it is revealed that he has spent much of the past two years working secretly with Leliana to try and track down Solas. If the Inquisitor romanced Solas, she will be aware of this, and dialogue options will reveal whether the Inquisitor has been aiding Revasan in his search or disapproving. If the Inquisitor did not romance Solas, and Solas had been in a relationship with Revasan’s daughter, Revasan will become angry when discussing his private work with Leliana. He will mention that the only reason he is looking for Solas is so that he can beat the living shit out of him for breaking his daughter’s heart.
If Revasan is in the Inquisitor’s party at the Darvaarad, he will act strangely and become stand-offish. The reason for this will remain forever unclear unless the Inquisitor collects all manner of proof that Solas is Fen’Harel. In that case, a cut scene will trigger before entering the final battle sequence in which Revasan draws his sword and says, “Solas isn’t an agent of anything. He is Fen’Harel, and you know it. Don’t you?” The Inquisitor will seem troubled by his honesty, but there will not be enough time to respond before the fighting begins.
Other Major Events: Any other major events that happen with them over the course of the main game? Revasan has a unique relationship with Solas that develops organically throughout the game. Their banter in the field implies that they spend a great deal of time together off-screen and are very good friends. His sense of betrayal at the beginning of Trespasser will be palpable. He will, however, greatly approve when a solas-mancing Inquisitor proclaims that she most go after Solas to protect him from the Viddasala. He approves not because he approves of their relationship, but because it means he may be given the chance to confront Solas one last time (and beat the shit out of him).

Your OC as a DA:I companion
I was tagged by the absolutely amazingly talented and very sweet @dinah-myles in a very interesting lil meme!
All the points are open, which means you can develope as much as you wish, as well as skip some, you don’t have to answer to all of them!
If you do it, please tag me! I’d 💛 to 👀 what your OCs would be like as a member of the Inquisition!
Here you have mine:
BASIC INFORMATION:
-Who are they? (Name, race, background):  Faeron Lavellan, elf, chaotic good. Nickname ~ ‘Dreamy’. Twin sister Nico Lavellan, elf, lawful neutral, Nickname ~ ‘Firecracker’. The twins are children of Thalion Lavellan, keeper of their clan who has freely traded with humans for sometime. However, after the chantry was destroyed in Kirkwall, tension had been slowly building before the inevitable war spilled out over Thedas involving them by proxy. It’s decided that the twins should go to look into the situation, gather information, and offer help if it is needed. Faeron and Nico are were both brought up believing in the elven gods, as such they are at first apprehensive at the idea of a ‘Herald’ of a human deity being a savour. Once recruited, Faeron can be found sat by the fire by Varric in Haven and in the kitchen cooking once you reach skyhold. Nico can be found opposite her brother at Haven and in main hall on a table covered in maps and papers once you reach skyhold.
-How are they recruited?: On your return to Haven after your first visit to the storm coast, a cutscene will trigger in which you will meet the twins.  If inquisitor is an elf ~ Nico will demand to see her clansmen is ‘safe’ with her own eyes. Faeron will be uncomfortably trying to make the situation less tense and calm his sister’s temper. If inquisitor is any other race ~ The twins will approach the party before reaching the gates, if Cassandra or Blackwall are in the party they will warn the inquisitor to be wary which will trigger a small, somewhat hilarious argument between Nico and said companion, where you can earn friendship points if the inquisitor picks either the heart option or the pleased (thumbs up option). Even if this option is not picked the twins will offer their help in the efforts to fix the hole in the sky.
-Class and specialization (You can invent a specialization and a focus ability): Faeron ~ Mage ~ Rift mage, Dreamer. Focus ability ~ Faeron is a powerful dreamer, he can take a small group out of battle completely by dragging them into a Nightmare which he can fully control. - Leliana may have some uses for him... If you can convince him to do such work.
Nico ~ Warrior ~  Rapier, When unlocked Nico will no longer use a shield and will instead equip another sword, substituting defence for speed and brutality. Focus ability ~ Nico’s style becomes a flurry of blades and low blows, she will let out a shout which increases party’s defence, critical chance, speed, and power,  if faeron is also in the party the party will gain an elemental effect on all strikes.
-Other facts: The twins both wear a matching purple sash, which is their clan colour.
As a companion:
-What do they approve of? (pious/pro-mage/pro-templar/good/evil, etc): Faeron is pro people, any decision that will benefit an innocent will gain friendship points from him. He is somewhat pro mages but not anti templar. He approves of kind and friendly Inquisitors. Faeron is sweet and flirty. He disapproves of evil inquisitors. Nico is pro inquisition, any decision made that strengthens your army. Recruiting any new companion, gaining resources, or upgrade made on skyhold will gain friendship from her.  Nico is somewhat neutral when it comes to the mages/templars, but does believe in greater freedom for the mages. Nico can be blunt if she dislikes the inquisitor and will appear as somewhat cold until you reach skyhold. She disapproves of evil inquisitors.
-What’s their relationship with the other characters?
                   Faeron     ~     Nico
*Cassandra: Neutral  ~  Friendly
*Varric: Friendly ~  Neutral
*Solas: Averse/ wary ~ Friendly
*Dorian: Friendly ~ Neutral
*Vivienne: Neutral  ~  Neutral
*Blackwall: Friendly ~  Neutral
*Iron Bull: Friendly ~  Friendly
*Sera: Friendly ~ Averse
*Cole: Friendly ~  Neutral / wary
Others: (optional)
*Leliana: Neutral  ~  Friendly
*Josephine: Friendly ~  Neutral
*Cullen: Neutral  ~  Friendly
*Morrigan: Averse ~  Neutral
-What are their personal quests?: War table, ‘We have received word from the twins father, asking for assistance with a local lord who is causing... Trouble’   Advisor Options  Leliana ~ I can spare a few of my best scouts. They can move quickly and fully assess the situation. They can also think on their feet if the need arise. Josephine ~ Ah yes. Lord Bran Perrin. He is young and... Disliked by many due to his attitude. Perhaps I can speak with a neighbouring lady I know, who holds a personal grudge? She could threaten a scandal if he does not ‘back off’?
Cullen: Sneaking around and noble bickering won’t solve the real problem! Send in a small group to stand guard for a few weeks let this ‘Lord’ see the clan is under inquisition protection! Any action taken against the clan will also be seen as a move against the inquisition and will be treated as such.
Whichever action taken you will receive a letter from the lord requesting a meeting. The young arrogant git... I mean lord, offers you a cut of the newly imparted taxes he is now levying. The inquisitor can;
Side with the twins: Which leads to Nico headbutting the lord and Faeron sending a small lightning bolt shocking the him before the inquisitor forcibly recruits him *Bran can be found shoveling dung at the stables if this option is chosen.  Faeron and Nico both Greatly Approve. Side with Lord Bran: Which ends with Nico telling the inquisitor exactly what he can do with the money. Faeron will turn and walk away sadly. Faeron and Nico both Greatly Disapprove This will also have further consequences on returning to Skyhold.
Kill Lord Bran: This option does not have any lasting consequences nor does it offer any boons. Faeron Slightly Approves ~ Nico Approves
-Banter(optional):
(If Faeron is in a romance with the inquisitor) Nico ~ Faeron, wha... What are you doing?
Faeron ~ I think the proper term is ‘Fawning’. *Sighhhhh*
Inquisitor ~ What have I told you about being adorable in public, love?
Faeron ~ *Giggle*
Nico ~ I’m going to be sick...
(If Nico is in a romance with the inquisitor) Faeron ~ *Cute noises*
Nico ~ Wha-? Heh- What was that noise for?!
Faeron ~ I’m just.. I’m so -. You two, It’s just so-.. *snuff snuff*
Nico ~ ... Faeron? Are... You crying?
Faeron ~ ... *Sob*. Nooo.... Maybe.
Cole (if present) ~ He is happy. He likes seeing you both smile. It makes him smile too. Sera (if present) ~ *laughs* You soppy tit!
Dorian (if present) ~ Now that is precious.  Varric (if present) *chuckling* Come here dreamy! There there. You are way too soft for this shit.
-Low approval: The twins will leave the inquisition.
-Trespasser ending: The twins will both be glad to meet up with everyone again. They will both express that no matter what happens you can count on them to stand by you and help in any way possible. If the inquisition is kept, the twins stay on to help in the search. If disbanded Faeron becomes a Jenny and Nico a Charger (if the chargers are alive) the twins research all ancient law on the dread wolf and share all the information they have with the elders of several clans in preparation for what comes next.
What do they approve of? (main choices)
Faeron  ~   Nico If sided with the mages:
-Conscripted mages: Greatly disapproves ~ Disapproves
-Free mages: Greatly Approves ~  Approves
If sided with the Templars:
-Disband the Templars: Disapproves ~ Disapproves
-Ally with the Templars: Slightly Approves ~ Approves
In Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts:
-Celene lives: Greatly Approves ~ Approves
-Celene dies: Greatly Disapproves ~ Disapproves
In Here lies the Abyss
-Grey Wardens join the Inquisition: Approves ~ Greatly Approves
-Grey Wardens banished: Greatly Disapproves ~ Greatly Disapproves
Other (Optional):
-Cole joins:  Approves ~ Slightly Disapproves
-Cole is not allowed to stay: Disapproves ~ Slightly Approves
-Saves the chargers: Greatly Approves ~  Approves -Saves the dreadnought: Greatly Disapproves ~ Disapproves
As a romance:
-Are they romanceable by the Inquisitor? If yes, by which?:  Both twins are both romanceable by any male inquisitor.  Faeron’s friendship route with a female inquisitor is very much like Dorian’s. Many of the flirt options will still be open.
-Do they romance another NPC if they are not romanced by the Inquisitor?: If Neither Faeron or Dorian are romanced they will start a relationship. If Neither Nico or Bull are romanced they will start a relationship.
-How would their romance be? (Description, 😘, sex and dance scenes)  Faeron is a flirty individual, however he becomes altogether flustered and somewhat withdrawn if the romance is continually pursued. The Inquisitor can find him in the kitchens where he will ask if Faeron has been avoiding him. At this point if the flirting has been your response in most conversations and depending on approval Fearon will admit that he’s been trying to stay away as he can’t stop thinking about you he thinks he might be falling in love... And that would be stupid.... Right? You can choose to enter a relationship with him or turn him down.  If pursued, a tender kiss will trigger.
The sex would take place in the inquisitor's quarters after wicked eyes and wicked hearts. Faeron would check in to see how the inquisitor was holding up telling him he has a surprise for him. He would then provide a selection of his finest baked goods and tell him everything will be okay, and just don’t tell Nico about the cookies or Cullen about the cakes! After the sex Faeron would assure the inquisitor that even if he doesn’t believe in the maker, he does believe in him, and no matter what, he will always be right beside him.
The 😘 scenes would happen with Faeron sat on the boarded up well by the stables his arms around the inquisitor.
At Halamshiral, Faeron would be very excited to dance, but then blush and insist only if the inquisitor wanted to.
Nico is a confident lover. If a romance if pursued she will gradually warm to the inquisitor and approach him and ask to speak freely. She will express her admiration for the inquisitor and her desire for a more intimate setting for them to get to know each other better. At this point if a romance is entered into a passionate kiss is triggered.
The sex would take place in the room above the tavern. After which Nico would ask where the inquisitor wanted this to go? She would express a desire to see where this goes and admit she, despite herself, for having feelings for the inquisitor. And no matter what, she is proud to be part of the army he has created.
The 😘 scenes would happen with Nico Pulling the inquisitor into a passionate embrace against the wall at Skyhold’s gate.
At Halamshiral, if the inquisitor expressed a desire to dance she would at first appear disinterested and mutter something about ‘Elves of grace that floor to clean it.’ She would still ask if he would like to dance once she checked in on him.
-How would the Trespasser romance be?: If either twin was romanced they can be marred in trespasser. Nico speaks of children, Faeron speaks of a puppy and then adds or maybe something more serious?
This is it! Phew... I *chuckles* I wrote a LOT of shit! Lol! I hope you enjoy this!! :D

PH 4 - Eissa
Request #1:
Female Aeducan/Anora Mac Tir
Fanart
Fanfiction
I’d love any form of interaction between a Lady Aeducan who stays with the Wardens and a Queen Anora. Character studies, journals/correspondences, plots, smut, politics, vacations from politics, parties, formal Court events, flirting, courting. If you’re doing visuals like the idea of dwarven characters that are rocky and chiseled (physically resembling the Stone) but would be perfectly happy with any kind of character you think appropriate. Would prefer Anora either be unmarried or be married to Lady Aeducan here. Up to you how “out” they are if they’re unmarried and how the Court reacts if they know, as long as the main couple is overall happy. DNW: plots that revolve around miscommunication or jealousy; kidfic; pregnancy fic; incest; non-con; soulmates; a/b/o; background ships involving Cole, Sten, Fenris, Anders, Solas or Varric; watersports, scat, gore, hate-sex, incest, minors, issuefic, mommy/daddy kink, humiliation, bloodplay or non-con. AUs can also be a little tricky. Canon-divergent aus are great. Full fledged different settings are pretty hit-or-miss for me and I prefer not to make changes to the underlying rules of the world as laid out by oficial media.
Request #2:
Belinda Darrow/Maeveris Tilani
Belinda Darrow & Maeveris Tilani
Fanart
Fanfiction
If you send Ser Belinda Darrow (the very cheerful templar from the co-op) on the wartable mission The Tevinter Resistance, Maeveris Tilani sends a scented handkerchief with her thank you note. I’m absolutely tickled with the idea that these two get along swimmingly and beat back the Venatori with style and flash. I’d be perfectly happy with this being a gen fic about friendship, a chance meeting with obvious sparks, an occasional fling, a lifelong correspondence or however else you want to spin it. I do think a true “happily ever after” where they settle down together is unlikely. I also think Dorian or Varic asking Belinda about Maeveris and getting a flustered response or such a forthright response it flusters the asker could be hilarious. It would also be an amazing place for art of the two of them during the attempted Venatori invasion of the Tillani estate. Something with lots of lightning and blue templar pulses. But anything you want to do would be cool.
Request #3:
Alistair/Zevran Arainai/Male Surana
Alistair & Zevran Arainai/Male Surana
Fanart
Fanfiction
I’d really love a setting with interactions between King Alistair and a M!Surana and a romanced Zevran years later, after Surana and Zevran have more gotten comfortable being a couple. I like the idea that Zevran and the Surana vanish for a bit after Origins, either on Warden business or just dodging Crows and Alistair runs back into them years later. (I headcanon my Surana fakes his death at Denerim but I’d like to see your take too.) But it would be totally cool to do a slow-forgiveness to pining to deep friendship or romantic/sexual relationship arc too if they stay in contact. Correspondences, sneaking into a Fereldan court function, taking on a DAI multiplayer style mission for the Inquisition together (with maybe hilarious results), peaceful evenings wherever Surana and Zevran settle, solving mysteries in Denerim, attending a street festival in Antiva in costume (with or without Crow shenanigans), Alistair sneaking off for a vacation with the other two (serious, fluff, silly, whatever tone). Pining, with happy endings. If you go the non-platonic route, I’d prefer either Anora and Alistair have a respectful friendship/partnership with an understanding about sexual/romantic relations with others or she’s not Queen at all. No straight up cheating.
Request #4:
Isabela/Anora Mac Tir
Fanart
Fanfiction
Possible scenarios: Isabela sneaking into a Fereldan court event (either just because or because her friend the Warden Commander is at it); Anora sneaking off to the Pearl; a chance meeting at the Gnawed Noble; a glimpse across the crowded market (and a wink and smile and then Isabela climbs in Anora’s window later?); a Warden who’s on friendly terms with Anora either suggesting Isabela for some underhanded job or just trying to set her friends up. I could also see an argument for a Warden who was friends with Isabela (and probably Zev) and took a liking to Anora but somehow wound up with Alistair on the throne getting ‘bela to rescue Anora from imprisonment, but that might get complicated. Isabela doesn’t bow, Anora isn’t soft, what kind of sparks would the two of them set off? My one qualm here would be that I’d prefer Anora either not be married at the time or have an understanding with her spouse. I’m ok with complicated understandings, or Anora/spouse having complicated reactions to the other’s needs/requests. It doesn’t have to be a glowing, happy, blissful, problem-free understanding. Rocky understandings-in-the-making are fine. Just no straight up cheating knowing the partner will hate it. It’s also ok for her to be Queen alone or just not mention the question either way.
Request #5:
Female Brosca/Female Cousland
Fanart
Fanfiction
I’d love a F!Cousland on the cheerful tomboy side of the scale enjoying an adventure and learning just how not-adventure the world can be by the side of a Brosca lady with a chipper attitude, but a much dirtier past. Anything in tone from happy adventures together to anger/hurt and comfort, anger in return or down-to-earth pep talks. Any rating.
Request #6:
Charter/Tessa Forsythia
Fanart
Fanfiction
I’m pretty open to just about anything here, but some prompts that jump to mind are: flirting by correspondence; happy reunions after a job well done; Tessa coming in with the perfect solution to whatever happens to be the major problem at Skyhold at the moment; Charter giving up and just handing Tessa a complicated problem and saying “I don’t know what to do with this, you fix it” and she does. Basically anything cute or fun or sexy. DNW: plots that revolve around miscommunication or jealousy; kidfic; pregnancy fic; incest; soulmates; a/b/o; background ships involving Cole, Sten, Fenris, Anders, Solas or Varric; watersports, scat, gore, hate-sex, incest, minors, issuefic, mommy/daddy kink, humiliation, bloodplay or non-con. AUs can also be a little tricky. Canon-divergent aus are great. Full fledged different settings are pretty hit-or-miss for me and I prefer not to make changes to the underlying rules of the world as laid out by oficial media.
Request #7:
Branka/Hespith (Dragon Age)
Fanart
Fanfiction
What I’d really like here is “what came before Origins.” How did they meet? Who made the first move? Was one of them reluctant? Was there a period of pining? Does one (or both) keep tokens? Does Branka dispose of them at some point after the Anvil starts making her crazy? What was the dynamic like before the Anvil started calling to Branka? How out are they? How does the nobility look on having lovers and how does Hespith react to being hidden (or looked down on or whatever)? This is the one place where a little jealousy/miscommunication/lying is going to be just about unavoidable. Oghren didn’t know about Hespith, as far as I know. How did they get around him? I also expect this one to be a little dark in places, or have an ominous/bittersweet tone. DNW: kidfic; pregnancy fic; incest; soulmates; a/b/o; background ships involving Cole, Sten, Fenris, Anders, Solas or Varric; watersports, scat, gore, hate-sex, incest, minors, issuefic, mommy/daddy kink, humiliation, bloodplay or non-con. AUs can also be a little tricky. Canon-divergent aus are great. Full fledged different settings are pretty hit-or-miss for me and I prefer not to make changes to the underlying rules of the world as laid out by oficial media.

The Illuminati in the World of  Deus Ex
Since it seems that most people here on Tumblr only played the Adam-centric games of the series, I decided to write a little post about the Illuminati, its structure and key-members. This post is more like a little overview for you guys, since  HR/MD only offer little info about them, and I won’t go very deep into detail. (Edit to myself: I lied.)
Officially, the Illumanti were founded by Adam Weishaupt in 1776, his goal was to create a new society, a “New Order” that is lead by individuals that are called “The Enlightened” (Illuminati is the plural of the Latin word Illuminatus, meaning  “enlightened”). This might be a reference to either Plato’s concept of the “Just State”, a society that is ruled by all knowing “Philosopher Kings” who were born to full-fill this rule and reign over the others. Another possible reference might be Thomas Hobbes’ theory of the Leviathan, a state that is ruled by a chosen “Sovereign” that can be either a single individual or a group of people acting as one where the rest of the citizens have no rights.
Those Individuals are defined as perfect beings, ahead of the rest of humanity and are in harmony with mind and body. To achieve this, there are certain requirements to be chosen as a suitable initiate, and every member has to go through certain ranks involving taking certain classes and undergoing tests. There is not much known about this besides the few references Stanton Dowd makes in Deus Ex 1, saying Bob Page never made it past the rank of “Master of Tyre” since did not participate in mandatory yoga lessons. In additions to this he mentions a special form of meditation that should lift the spirit and mind to a higher level.
Furthermore, although the official foundation is dated to 1776, many patters and structures can be traced back to the Knight Templar during the Crusades (also stated by Dowd). So over the time, the Illuminati also “adopted” several other orders/organizations to their cause, utilizing them for special tasks. Besides the Templars, who function as the Order’s financial arm since they control most of the banks around the world, they also incorporated Majestic 12 in 1969, after the USAF closed down Project Blue Book and the organization was shut down as well. Since then, MJ12 operates as the Illumianti’s scientific and militaristic arm.
In general, you can say that the Illuminati don’t know any restrictions when it comes to achieving their goal, they are all about control, but ultimately they do one thing: They influence, they direct, they never act out directly and they think in very long term plans. They have boxes stacked into boxes, a machinery that works for them while keeping the puppet-masters in the shadows. They are not just a group of “evil rich people wanting to dominate the world”, they do not just simply beat up or kill people just because they want to. Everything they do is for the greater cause, and they don’t like loose ends. When someone is in their way, they make sure to completely destroy this person forever. Either through assassination (and they don’t back off from killing members of the Order for “The Greater Plan” as they wanted to assassinate Taggart to further fuel the Anti-Aug Debate) or through complete destruction of  one’s existence. They would never just leave a “warning” or harm someone out of fun or cruelty. The Illuminati are, in their core, completely finalistic and dedicated to their cause.
Now, after the fundamentals are clear, let’s take a short look at the members of the Council of Five, the ruling top with the highest ranked members of the order. The Philosophers Kings or the Sovereigns, if you want to see them that way.
Lucius DeBeers is the head of the Order, the only with the highest rank, the “Supreme Enlightened”. His background and true age are unknown since he keeps himself artificially alive, but it’s known he was already in charge back in the 1960s, as he ordered the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963. So pretty much everything we know about the actions of the Illuminati can be traced back to him. It’s clear that he seems to be obsessed with power, he refuses to give up his position as leader to his protége Morgan Everett and seeks a way to achieve immortality. He seems himself as the perfect being Weishaupt was talking about. In 2052, he is in a somewhat frozen state to halt his ageing, but he is still kept conscious to able to advice Everett who assumed the position of the Leader after Lucius was put into this state.
Morgan Everett is the Second-In-Command and leader of Majestic 12. It is implied that he was born into the Illuminati, as he states he had close ties to the Templars in his childhood, saying “I once knelt in this chapel for communion, with two Rockefellers and a Rothschild. Since the time of the Crusades every leader in finance has prayed for the continued stability of Templar banks, founded on gold.”. During the events of Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, he is the CEO of the Picus Group, and thereby controlling the world’s media and news. He did not found it, it was Sir Martin Darrow (Hugh Darrow’s father) in 1985 -  it is unknown how Everett got into this position and what happened to Martin. Furthermore, Everett is in charge of various AI projects involving E.L.I.Z.A. and Morpheus (referred to as “M Initiative” in HR & MD)  together with his protégé Bob Page to control and monitor the public. In 2052, he took up the position as the Supreme Enlightened and controls the remnants of the Order after MJ12 nearly destroyed them during the 2030s. Although he is the acting leader, he keeps his former mentor in a state that allows him to still give advice and actively lying about the fact that Lucius could “be brought back to live” and using him as a tool. It is assumed that Morgan grew bitter about Lucius withholding him the possibility of becoming the Supreme Enlightened and now abuses his power over him.
Stanton Dowd is the leader of the Knights Templar in 2029 and in control of most of the Illuminati’s finances and the world’s banks and therefore putting financial pressure on opposing parties. Although the Templar’s base is located in Paris, it is stated that Dowd is unable to leave New York City due to unknown reasons. According to Deus Ex 1, he was also born into the Order as his family had ties for generations. Little is known about the man, but it’s implied that he is a rather traditional man since he is the only one ever talking about the existing ranks and rituals and around the events of Mankind Divided, he led the Templar to a very powerful and controlling position. This concerns Beth DuClare who states she had to leave her home-town Paris because “Dowd’s Templar minions are the reason I stay away from Paris these days. I smell them on everything when I go back to the château. They act like they own  the city.” (quote from Black Light) and leading to the suspicion Dowd might try to overthrow Lucius and take over himself.  In 2052 Stanton is a poor man after MJ12 taking over the Knight Templars and destroying his finances and he is infected with the Grey Death. Besides his knowledge, he has nothing and is forced into hiding - powerless and defenceless.
Elizabeth DuClare, often only called “Beth”, is  millionaire philanthropist and leader of the World Health Organization in 2027 and 2029. Just like the previous members she was born into a very old and wealthy family tied to the Illuminati. This is why she claims it was her birthright to be “Queen of this World.” And again, little is known about the woman besides her public role. In 2027 she controls the distribution of the manipulated TYM chip that would later cause the Aug Incident, and in 2029 she works with DeBeers on several projects. Among them: Black Helix and The D Project. Her exact position/rank is unknown, but it is implied in Black Light that she might be the “true” Second-in-Command since she has a very close relationship with DeBeers and because of their collaborations. In addition to this it is implied that she is a highly skilled manipulator, especially regarding men, and it is implied she uses sex and “love” to achieve her goals. The groomed the carrier of  Philip Riley Mead, Florida’s Governor in 2027 and future President of the United States (2052), has a confirmed sexual relationship with Morgan Everett, is rumoured to be the mistress of the President of France Alain Bourges-Maunoury and talks derogatory about emotions like love and affection. She was assassinated by Majestic 12 prior to the events of Deus Ex 1. She has a daughter named Nicolette DuClare whose father is unknown and it is suspected that Nicolette is in fact a cosmetically altered clone.
There is little to say about Volkard Rand, since he is only appears in Mankind Divided and the only thing we know about him is that he is a member of the Council of Five in 2029 and that he puts pressure on the UN council to pass the Human Restoration act. A very popular fan-theory sees him as the elusive Janus, leader of the Juggernaut Collective that was somewhat confirmed by the “Prima Game Guide” by accident.  But this is all speculation.
Robert “Bob” Page is not directly a member of Council of Five during the events of HR and MD, but has a high enough position to participate in most of their meetings. He is the protégé of Morgan Everett, who recruited him at some point before 2016 and due to his influence the young man managed to have an unusual career and rise up faster than he should (stated by Stanton Dowd). Page is the CEO of VersaLife (founded 1975), a pharmaceutical giant he acquired in 2016 and a subordinate to his company Page Industries, a venture capital/tech firm. He is the second leader of MJ12 alongside his mentor and is in charge of the Tyrants in Human Revolution (Codename Black, also referred to as “Commander” in The Fall) and overthrows the Illuminati during the 2030s in a Coup d'état, and takes over completely. In 2052, he is the richest and most powerful man in the world while still having an extremely positive public image, as people see him as generous, a philanthropist and he pretends to donate to good causes. He tries to become the “true Supreme Enlightened” by merging with the AI Helios.
All of these character summaries are kept short and only mention the most important things, there is much more to tell but this should be enough to give a general overview about the canon information regarding the Illuminati. If you got any questions of wish that I got deeper into certain things, please let me know.

THE MEGA RP PLOTTING SHEET / MEME.
First and foremost, recall that no one is perfect, we all had witnessed some plotting once which did not went too well, be it because of us or our partner. So here have this, which may help for future plotting. It’s a lot! Yes, but perhaps give your partners some insight? Anyway BOLD what fully applies, italicize if only somewhat. Long post!

HOW LONG DO YOU USUALLY TAKE TO REPLY?: 24H / 1 WEEK / 2 WEEKS / 3+ WEEKS / MONTHS / YEARS.
I’M OKAY INTERACTING WITH:       ORIGINAL CHARACTERS / A RELATIVE OF MY CHARACTER (AN OC) / DUPLICATES / CROSSOVERS / MULTI-MUSES / SELF-INSERTS / PEOPLE WITH NO AU VERSE FOR MY FANDOM / CANON-DIVERGENT PORTRAYALS / AU-VERSIONS(ish)
DO YOU POST MORE IC OR OOC?: IC / OOC / BOTH IN A BALANCE
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WITH FOLLOWING OTHERS?: YES / NO / DEPENDS.
BEST WAYS TO APPROACH YOU FOR RP/PLOTTING:  Honestly? Come up to me and talk! I swear I’m friendly and don’t bite. I’m not particularly shy so I am the one writing first at times.
WHAT EXPECTATIONS DO YOU HOLD TOWARDS YOUR PLOTTING PARTNER: Just honesty and mutual respect. I like to throw ideas and memes at plotting partners, and I will acknowledge if someone isn’t into a particular idea. I like having the same :)
WHEN YOU NOTICE THE PLOTTING IS RATHER ONE-SIDED, WHAT DO YOU DO?:  Usually I write to the partner for new ideas, maybe to spice up the thread a bit.
HOW DO YOU USUALLY PLOT WITH OTHERS, DO YOU GIVE INPUT OR LEAVE MOST WORK TOWARDS YOUR PARTNER?:  I often throw as many ideas into the story as I can, I don’t mind if some of the ideas that land are mostly mine but I like the concept of two people throwing ideas around, given that there’s the same interest in the plot!
WHEN A PARTNER DROPS THE THREAD, DO YOU WISH TO KNOW?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS. - AND WHY?: I don’t mind if people drop one liners. They’re supposed to be casual and entertaining to a point. Ih the thread in question is a plotted one, I don’t mind if the other wishes to drop it — just let me know!
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY LEAD YOU TO DROP A THREAD?:  I usually never drop threads intentionally, it’s mostly due to... the drafts nightmare that this website has. However, I may drop casual threads. Rarely plotted ones, and in that case it might be because of lack of time.
WILL YOU TELL YOUR PARTNER?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS.
IS COMMUNICATION IN THE RPC IMPORTANT TO YOU?      YES / NO. - AND WHY?: It’s nice to get to know the person you’re plotting with. Sometimes I forget to reply to messages, but I enjoy talking with other people on Discord, even if it can be brief. Communication at any level keeps a point of understanding for the plot as well.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH ABSOLUTE HONESTY, EVEN IF IT MAY MEANS HEARING SOMETHING NEGATIVE ABOUT YOU AND/OR PORTRAYAL?: Naturally, as long as it’s constructive. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to accept every critique I will eventually get, since writing is what I do for my job. Given that this site is a guilty pleasure and only that, I use trophies / cliches / repetition in some characters / backgrounds, because it’s fun. So there’s not a high level of seriousness on my part here, honestly.
DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE SUCH SITUATION IN A MATURE WAY? YES / NO.
WHY DO YOU RP AGAIN, IS THERE A GOAL?: I love stories, I love writing. It’s something to keep me in training with english and writing in general. Keeps my mind active.
WISHLIST, BE IT PLOTS OR SCENARIOS:  I will eventually make a wishlist post for each and everyone of my characters. Though the ones that would be more interesting, for the moment, would be an arc for Milot in which he grows a bit from the idiot bigot child he is while getting some recognition for his abilities an arc for Feirun who has trust issues and would simply like to feel like she belongs somewhere, thus indulging in friendships — and an arc for Dianor regarding the Calling, to see where it could lead, whether to the finding of a cure or to his death.
THEMES I WON’T EVER RP / EXPLORE:   There aren’t specific themes I will never explore, but some themes, however, like suicide, I’d be willing to explore if done with taste and regard to others and with a person who would be willing to explore it with me. I’m about realism, and given that some themes are a bit heavy for me as well I always do it in a manner that does not diminish neither the theme nor the person involved with it.
WHAT TYPE OF STARTERS DO YOU PREFER / DISLIKE, CAN’T WORK WITH?: I can usually work with anything, but one liners that feel empty in attempt are usually really frustrating.
WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE MOST?:  Going for the cliches: innocent young ones, honor-bound ones and villains. I don’t have much of a preference but these tend to be more fun for me.
WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE LEAST?:  Self-inserts that claim to be self-inserts and that end up being straight up mary sues. I like self-inserts when portrayed naturally and truthfully, even if it’s the type of character that doesn’t catch my eye at first.
WHAT ARE YOUR STRONG ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: I’m very laid back and I’m patient. Given that I actually spent a lot of my time on this site and know the kinds of people wandering these halls, I know who to avoid in case of senseless drama and how to handle it if directed at me or at my rp partners. I would also like to add feel lucky to have met people who are the same on this site.
WHAT ARE YOUR WEAK ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: It can often be consistency. I can be really pumped up for a plot, then be extremely slow in replying to threads. Right now it’s mostly due to the fact that all of these muses are new and I have to think about what they’d say and do. An initial idea shared with a rp partner, too, might fall apart the moment I realise that it couldn’t work with my muse for the same reason.
DO YOU RP SMUT?:  YES / NO / DEPENDS on the character I’m writing. It has to make sense for the muse; if my current muses are, for example, Dianor, Vincent or Lottie, they have a higher chance of being open to smut. Others need an emotional connection or very specific requirements. I’m not against it entirely, though I’m terrible at writing it.
DO YOU PREFER TO GO INTO DETAIL?: YES / NO / DEPENDS.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH BLACK CURTAIN, FADE TO BLACK?: YES / NO.
WHEN DO YOU RP SMUT? MORE OUT OF FUN OR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT?: Again, depends on the muse.
ANYTHING YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO RP THERE?:  As said above, I’m open for most “unpopular” themes, if treated with regard and taste. Big nopes are themes like animal abuse or child abuse.
ARE SHIPS IMPORTANT TO YOU?:   YES / NO.   Ships can be of any kind — platonic, romantic, familiar and so on. Human connection is important in stories, and to find some is always a good thing for me.
WOULD YOU SAY YOUR BLOG IS SHIP-FOCUSED?: YES / NO. I do have some ships going on but I’d still run my blog if there weren’t many. I like exploring different kinds of relationships, not just the positive ones.
DO YOU USE READ MORE?:  YES / NO / SOMETIMES WHEN I WRITE LONG STUFF.
ARE YOU:  MULTI-SHIP / SINGLE-SHIP / DUAL-SHIP  —  MULTIVERSE / SINGLEVERSE.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO EXPLORE THE MOST IN YOUR SHIPS?: I enjoy it when particular romantic ships lead to internal conflicts within my muses. For example, Feirun has 0 interpersonal skills and has never been with anyone before, therefore seeing her accepting the fact that she has feelings for someone, and growing a sense of worth that leads her to go for it, is fantastic. For Octavia, too, despite her lack of interest in sex, she can still be romantically interested in people, which happens rarely due to her difficult character; when it does happen, she tends to become a bit softer, and that’s my jam.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PRE-ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS?: YES / NO / DEPENDS.
► SECTION ABOUT YOUR MUSE.
- WHAT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE YOUR MUSE INTERESTING TOWARDS OTHERS, WHY SHOULD THEY RP WITH THIS PARTICULAR CHARACTER OF YOURS NOW, WHAT POSSIBLE PLOTS DO THEY OFFER?: Dianor is the worst warden on the website, probably, reckless and a troublemaker; he can lead to plots with adventures, theft and unexpected camaraderie. Tristan is an Inquisitor who only wishes to be strong enough to protect everyone, he can be all about love and support to other muses or create interesting conflicts. Feirun is a feral squirrel, honestly, but due to her background she can lead to interesting plots tied with Tevinter or the Qun. Milot is a young soldier who wishes to prove himself, he is often in need of guidance but he himself can teach a thing or two about being comfortable with one’s self. Vincent is a particular kind of abomination, thus it could be interesting to have him interact with other mages / templars / really, anyone who has a problem with demons. Lottie is an orlesian spy and a functional psychopath, it can lead to many interesting plots with a large variety of characters. Octavia could be one of the most interesting ones given her background, since the actions of whoever surrounds her in the Inquisition could lead her to find actual morals and discover emotional intelligence rather than having her stay the same person she was before.
WITH WHAT TYPE OF MUSES DO YOU USUALLY STRUGGLE TO RP WITH?:  Characters who see everything in black and white.
WHAT DO THEY DESIRE, WHAT IS THEIR GOAL?:  Dianor just wants to find a cure for the calling and live freely. Tristan thinks he wants to save everyone, but he really needs people who help him overcome his own issues. Feirun wants somewhere to belong, people to be close with, having been alone for most of her life. Milot wants to become a knight and be treated like the other soldiers, without the special treatment he often gets due to his age. Lottie just wants money, I think. Vincent wants to either find a way to get the demon out of his body or die. Octavia would like to take revenge on her father and go back to Tevinter, but she might need some emotional guidance at first.
WHAT CATCHES THEIR INTEREST FIRST WHEN MEETING SOMEONE NEW?:  Dianor gets along with other rogues. Tristan is like a dog, happy to see anyone. Feirun has a particular interest for the Qunari. Milot greatly regards knights and people in power who show honor and integrity. Octavia likes people who do their job and are unapologetic about it. Lottie enjoys meeting any kind of character that she could get something out of. Vincent is often very happy to see other mages and men, honestly.
WHAT THEMES DO THEY LIKE TALKING ABOUT?:  Dianor likes to tell stories of any kind. Tristan enjoys talking about plans for the Inquisition. Feirun likes to talk about lore, archeological finds, books and magic. Milot... likes to talk about battles, I guess. Lottie enjoys discussing Orlais fashion. Octavia loves discussing magic, blood magic specifically. Vincent likes to discuss art.
DID THEY EVER WENT THROUGH SOMETHING TRAUMATIC?:  Dianor lost his best friend Tamlen and had to save Thedas, now the Calling is killing him from the inside. Tristan couldn’t save a clan of dalish elves being attacked by a Teyrn. Feirun was abandoned by the dalish when she was 8 and was beaten and hunted by Templars for a while. Octavia discovered she was an half-elf and fruit of scandal and went on the run for it. Vincent was friends with a spirit who turned into a demon while saving his life from templars. Milot saw his farm, his home being destroyed by battles between mages, templars and demons. Lottie... once wore bad shoes?
WHAT COULD LEAD TO AN INSTANT KILL?:  Darkspawn for everyone. Mages for Milot. Templars for Feirun and Vincent.
IS THERE SOMEONE /-THING THEY HATE?:  Darkspawn. Mages in general for Milot, he’s really afraid of them and would not hesitate to bring them down in battle. Feirun and Vincent detest the Templars due to the abuse they’ve faced because of them.
ARE YOUR MUSES EASY TO APPROACH?:  Dianor, Tristan and Vincent are the easiest ones to approach. The others can be... difficult to handle at first.
SOMETHING YOU MAY STILL WANT TO POINT OUT ABOUT YOUR MUSES?: I apologise for some of them being sluts or bigots. I love them all the same.
CONGRATS!!! You managed it, now tag your mutuals! ♥

Hi Writer!
I’m noun on Ao3; thank you for writing for me! To give you an idea of my tastes, I’ve got the standard DNWs below. Anything not mentioned is fair game.
On consent, I’m ok with dubious consent—be it because consent cannot be discussed beforehand, dubcon turning into con, or simply because desire overcomes reasons why person didn’t consent fully in the first place. Otherwise, go wild. I like enthusiastic consent, arousal is arousing.
DNWs: dialogue lifted entirely from canon (callbacks are fine!), first-person writing (unless in epistolary format), character studies (whole fic musing on someone’s canonical actions, no new content/action), hopeless or depressing endings (angst and struggle during the fic = great), coffee shop/minimum wage struggle AUs, noncon, trans headcanons, autism headcanons, asexuality headcanons, prostitution as a positive (background prostitution/mentions of trafficking are a-ok), daddy kink or parental role kink, and sexualized choking.
A/B/O is a trope I absolutely adore—the changes to society! the possessiveness! the various kinks!—but please no male pregnancy/women who can impregnate.
If, in any place, a kink/trope looks to override any specific DNW, the kink/trope wins out. That shouldn’t happen in this exchange, but if it does—kink/trope trumps.
List is organized by fandom, then universal kinks, parings, then paring specific kinks if applicable. There are so many freeform tags, I tried to give a sentence each as to why I like each one, and more if possible. Also, you can assume if I like a specific kink (ie, Breeding Kink -- We Have to Conceive the Chosen One(s)) then I will like it in a general sense (= breeding kink) and it’s a-ok to use it in combo with another prompt.
Assassin’s Creed – All Media Types
I have not played anything after Syndicate, but am familiar with the comics up to Juno’s death and some of the YA novels. Please do not use any of the Odyssey/Origins lore, be it on whatever they’re doing with the Precursor backstory or Assassin motivations or whatever.
A/B/O - Alpha begs to be allowed to knot: I love the desperation and the contrast between perceived authority of the alpha versus the omega actually giving permission.
A/B/O - Animalistic Behavior: Biting, marking, a general retreat to more animalistic instincts. I like A/B/O set-ups where it’s the alpha who gets uncontrollable while the omega, while in heat, retains their wits. I do love nesting omegas!
A/B/O - breeding triads:  ‘Successful’/stable relationships involve either one of each, or two alphas and an omega, or two omegas and an alpha.
A/B/O - First time rut Alpha with experienced omega: Self-explanatory.
Alternate Universe - Role Reversal: Fandom specific! Either a) make the Assassins Templars, or b) swap motivations as far as Pieces of Eden.
Bondage and Discipline - Honor Bondage: Give me some of that Assassin control! Does the paranoia and like, actual expertise with restraints and weapons make this the more interesting/more sexual option? How does control get handled when that’s one of someone’s huge ideological pillars?
Breeding Kink - Those are some excellent genes you have there: For any of the past parings, they know they have to have a kid to make Desmond happen. For any of the later ones, is it a pre-Flare attempt to get them a backup plan? Is Abstergo making them do it?
Breeding Kink - We Have to Conceive the Chosen One(s):  For any of the past parings, they know they have to have a kid to make Desmond happen. For any of the later ones, is it a pre-Flare attempt to get them a backup plan? Is Abstergo making them do it?
Character From Future Tries To Convince Current Enemy They Will Be Friends/Allies In Future: Desmond going back to the Farm, Desmond going back before his kidnapping, Desmond waking up from any of his Animus experiences with knowledge of the Flare and trying to get to Lucy earlier, Maria going back to the first time she met Altair and trying to help him, Altair waking up in the middle of his missions from either the end of his life or the middle of his successful relationship and trying to mend things with Malik/meet Maria sooner.
Character goes bad to save the world and enjoys it more than expected: I will kill for this in a ToWK setting for Connor. Or, Desmond—the Eye somehow gives him all the power, and he decides to fix everything/break the cycle. I’m also for this with anyone in the Altair/Malik/Maria trio—what does it look like if one of them manages to use the Apple?
Comes Back Wrong: Mostly for Desmond. Everyone is glad he’s ok, but there’s some element of Precursor/just plain done with being manipulated/whatever you want to slap on. Also, for Malik or Maria after their canonical deaths.
Dubcon voyeurism to consensual threesome: self-explanatory.
Lavish Descriptions Of Historical Clothing: specifically 18th century, but I’m flexible.
Loyalty Kink: self-explanatory.
Sex Pollen: self-explanatory.
Soulmates: Characters have each other's names on their wrists: self-explanatory.
Soulmates - they know from a young age that they're soulmates but smth keeps them apart: self-explanatory.
Touch-Starved Character Having Overwhelming Tender Long Foreplay First Time Sex: self-explanatory, but it does scream Connor.
Werewolves - Sex With Werewolf in Wolf Form: self-explanatory.
Desmond Miles/Lucy Stillman (Assassin's Creed)
I like this paring because of what an effective lure Lucy was for Desmond, with the fact that she was 1) attractive 2) saved him and 3) had a relationship with Bill that seemed like perfect bait (and was) for Desmond’s own issues with him. Desmond’s forgiveness of her, Lucy’s tragic death, the parallels that were made in the game between him and Lucy and Maria and Altair—all great.
Malik Al-Sayf/Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad/Maria Thorpe (Assassin's Creed)
My favorite OT3s are the ones where each person has an independently strong relationship with the other two in the trio, and supports each one/gets different things out of each one. I like Maria and Malik moderating Altair and dealing with the complicating feelings he has for each one when he’s been such a lone wolf for most of his life. (I am also a big fan of Tazim being Malik and Maria’s kid)
Ratonhnhaké:ton | Connor/Original Female Character(s) (Assassin's Creed)
This ship is entirely a vehicle for kinks/tropes, do whatever you’d like to make the OFC work. My only request is that she not be a colonist who’s Not Like Other Girls, ie, won’t wear stays/a corset and a skirt, or be someone that Connor rescued who now has a crush on him. Also, I would kill for a ToKW setting.
Rebecca Crane/Shaun Hastings/Desmond Miles (Assassin's Creed)
Pretty much the same as the Altair/Malik/Maria ship- I like OT3s are the ones where each person has an independently strong relationship with the other two in the trio, and supports each one/gets different things out of each one. I would be as happy for something set pre-Flare where the three of them fall in together because hey, it’s the end of the world, as much for something Syndicate/Black Flag era where Desmond is revived/downloaded from the cloud and they’re very glad to have him back.
Dishonored (Video Games)
 Arranged Marriage - Public Consummation
Bondage and Discipline - Honor Bondage
Breeding Kink - We Have to Conceive the Chosen One(s)
Character goes bad to save the world and enjoys it more than expected
First Time - A Patient with B's Clumsy but Enthusiastic Blow Job/Cunnilingus: Would prefer Emily to be the experienced one.
If I Must Solve A Dozen Geopolitical Problems Just To Have Sex With You Then I Will
Lavish Descriptions Of Historical Clothing
Loyalty Kink
Ritual Sex Magic
Soulmates - they know from a young age that they're soulmates but smth keeps them apart
Emily Kaldwin/The Outsider
General monster boyfriend vibes, the idea of the destined lover, the inevitability of fate vs active and individual choice. I prefer Outsider-Outsider, but am ok with a story that splits between divinity and mortal or sets him as the slightly-off human. Please no naivety/woobie human Outsider.
Xeno - Loving oral on Wet Pinecone Dick (Awapuhi Plant gif)
Xeno - sex shouldn't be physically possible but we're not cowards
Be Not Afraid for I have some excellent dick
Consentacles
Kirin Jindosh/Emily Kaldwin
Coup-tested royalty vs clawed his way up from the gutter genius—the class divide is a huge part of why I like this paring. I like Emily pushing and Jindosh resisting—until he doesn’t—and the idea of the public/private divide as far as behavior.
Masked Ball As An Excuse for Inadvisable Sex: This is just the Fugue Feast, so.
Pregnancy - Impregnator Wins the Throne
Soulmates - Characters have each other's names on their wrists: The angst! How does Jindosh handle this, growing up. (How do you even prove it’s real?) How does his struggle to get close enough to Emily influence his choices? Is he even interested in nobility? How does Emily handle her side? Just give me class issues and the concept of fate/avoiding fate.
The Witch (2016)
Please don’t make Thomasin’s age/youth a kink. In the period setting, she’s more or less a full adult, dresses like one, etc. Also, I would prefer a benevolent/semi-benevolent Black Philip in the sense of a viable alternative to the religion Thomasin was raised in, and a humanoid over a goat. The theme of willing and educated consent is particularly important to me in this one- Thomasin makes her choices understanding the cost, and is an enthusiastic participant, or is actively convinced.
Black Philip/Thomasin (The Witch)
Alternate Universe - Formal Matriarchy: How does the witch commune in the forest work? Where do they get their food/supplies? (’noun, that’s too much thought for a horror movie’) How does this turn out in fifty years/sixty? Listen, I just want a functioning magical matriarchy that yells fuck off/fights expansionism.
Breeding Kink - We Have to Conceive the Chosen One(s) Slash anti-Christ, or a bunch of demons, or whatever.
Lavish Descriptions Of Historical Clothing: Particularly corsets, or the sort of clothing that wealthy women would wear in this time period. She was tempted by a pretty dress, among other things.
Pregnancy - pregnant with multiples
Sex with Monsters
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (TV)
Please keep this in the era the show is set in! I am a-ok with period homophobia, but am not interested in a coming out type story where the focus of the struggle is triumph over adversary- I like Midge’s career being the focus, or little domestic scenes. Maybe something where they’re in a relationship by the time she realizes that Shy’s gay? Is she able to handle herself better because of this? I am also perfectly happy if Midge and Susie remain closeted to friends/family during the story/their relationship seems like how it is in the show to everyone else, and there’s no angst over that.
Miriam "Midge" Maisel/Susie Myerson (Mrs Maisel)
Butch woman is allowed to remain butch for entirety of story

Note
every odd number for the OC questionaiire, with a different OC for as many of the numbers as you have. if you run out, use canon characters you have made your own~
oh my gosh nonny.  THIS IS VERY LONG. OBVIOUSLY.
1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
I wanted to make a DAO character who actually fit into the narrative/lore, rather than the more palatable from an outside-perspective rebel type. Someone who believed in the establishment, in Chantry doctrine, who was a normal human, in terms of the politics as they were described by the game. (You couldn’t really be “normal” with the origin choices though, so I ended up with Coraline Amell, human disaster.)
She turned into a terrifying angry force of nature, because honestly, you take someone who believes in the rules of the world around them, and surround them with inept blood mages and Circle politics and a failed Templar who jokes about being a bastard royal, heretics and apostates and assassins and murderers and literal actual monsters, and supposedly she has to be OKAY WITH ALL THESE TERRIBLE PEOPLE OR THE WORLD WILL END?!? FUCK ALL OF YOU.
3. How did you choose their name?
I let Thing 1 name my first mabari, who was Widget after one of his favorite picture books at the time. Ingva Brosca’s mabari was Scabbler, after a mining tool. Daryn, Adelaide Hawke’s mabari, is from Patricia Brigg’s The Hob’s Bargain. The source character in that one dies too soon, so I enjoy how mabari-Daryn lives to a ripe old age and has many many puppies post-game. The Dark is Rising/King Arthur’s dog.
Tisala Hawke’s name is from Patricia Brigg’s Dragon Bones/Dragon Blood (Hurog duology), though source material Tisala would despise Hawke Tisala, which is appropriate on several levels, if kind of sad. Hurog (Aeducan) is also from the same set of books, and exemplifies everything that has ever been terrible about the historical Hurog family, so that was me amusing myself yet again.
5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Ingva Brosca’s hair is brown. Her eyes are brown, her skin is brown, her clothes tend towards brown… I really wanted to make someone who looked a lot like Rica (because Ingva looks a lot like Rica), whom everyone emphasizes is eye-catching and attractive, but who could legitimately fade into every background, who would look the part of every negative Duster joke ever told, and yet is actually really lovely once you stop and look at her.
7. Is there any significance behind their height?
Erana Lavellan is tall for an elf, almost raw-boned and sparse, not at all delicate. She’s basically the same height as Blackwall,, both because I enjoy them being the same height for aesthetic/battle couple/thematic reasons *eye-to-eye and hip-to-hip* and also because it adds to how disconcerting she is for most people who meet her as Herald/Inquisitor. She’s clearly Very Dalish, and yet not at all what most people think of as “elfy” in their heads.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
Probably all of them are, in some ways, and none of them in others? Like, that’s a cop-out, but I never know how to answer that one. (I mean, as part of #11, I do tend to always use echoes of my own sexuality in most of my characters, just because I seldom see anyone in fiction approaching sexuality the way I do... maybe I’m still trying to figure out mine while I’m at it? Something like that.)
11. Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?
I’m gonna cheat and not put a person here, because basically all my OC’s are various degrees of bi, except for, oddly enough, my two most recent tabletop PnP RPG characters, (Kaylani Seren, Star Wars Pilot, and Shan Xia, angry cursed selkie), who are both lesbians.
Probably because of how much @darthkrzysztof and  I tend to “joke” that lesbians make everything better?
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?
Well, Miri Hawke’s entire fic-life/inspiration is past canon? She is Princess of Starkhaven with an unofficial semi-secret second husband in Fenris. They’re a pretty happy and stable triad, though they are (mostly) careful that their first child is Sebastian’s to avoid inheritance issues. (Later, their twins have green eyes, which rather gives it away to anyone who didn’t already know, since Miri’s are brown and Sebastian’s are infamously blue.)
15. What is something about your OC can make you laugh?
Cherries!
(aka the Adelaide Hawke/Sebastian Vael first time having sex fic for the kinkmeme... it was like, only the second thing I’d written for them, too? Adelaide Hawke exists because the kinkmeme was full of really sad and disturbing Sebastian prompts/fills when I first found it and I wanted SOMEONE TO LOVE HIM. Romantically. I mean, yes, physically too obviously I’ve written a lot of smut-fic, but the original inspiration was just that I liked the character and no one else I knew at the time seemed to.)
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
Hmm. Neria Surana started with And/rs reminiscing after her death but then I wrote some earlier fic for her and had feels and she really deserved better than to be pre-emptively doomed. (Sorry Niall, you did too.)
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?
Ella Shepard exists because of Ellen Ripley, even if she’s two or three incarnations removed from my very first vanguard Ellen playthrough of ME1, oh so many years ago.
