FAQ

Is this a one-book story? Yes. I'm currently not planning any sequels. 

How many chapters will there be?  At the moment, I'm planning 10. 

What is the rating of the game? The finished version of the game will be rated adult only. This is not a Young Adult novel by any means, even if the prose seems fun and goofy in some places. The story will contain heavy and dark themes, mental health problems, violence, death, gore, strong language, and optional sexual content, to only mention a few. The whole list of triggering content can be found in the beginning of the game. READ THE CONTENT WARNINGS BEFORE PLAYING, and make sure to check it regularly because the list is constantly updated as I add more content.

Is the story historically correct? No.

Are you a historian? No, I'm not. This is only a passion of mine. 

When does the story take place exactly? In an alternate setting that resembles the end of the Second Intermediate Period / the beginning of the New Kingdom era, so approximately 1550 BC. 

Were the characters inspired by real historical figures? Some of them, yes. 

I noticed that X detail is not historically correct... Yes, I'm aware. Magic isn't real either. 

Why do you use modern words when the story takes place in Ancient Egypt? Because I'm writing it in a way as if I was translating the character's words from Ancient Egyptian into modern English. That's also the reason why I use slang, sometimes incorrect grammar, abbreviations, and such. Additionally, English is NOT my first language. Please keep that in mind. 

Do you use AI? No.

Can I play without romancing anyone? Yes. There is an option that completely disables romance for the entire game. There will also be extra content that you only get if you disabled romance, plus you'll get more screen time with non-romanceable characters, so you won't miss out on the story. 

Will I be able to romance several characters at the same time? There will be one poly route, but other than that, you will get a choice around the end of Chapter 4 that will lock you into a romance route for the rest of the game. The pre-requirement will be only that you have to have at least 2 romance points with your chosen character. 

Who will be in the poly route? Zaia and Ahmose. 

What are the age restrictions for the romance routes? Narmer and Qenna will gently reject a character who is 18-20 years old and is trying to romance them.

Ahmose on default cannot be romanced by a character who is older than 30, therefore, the poly route is also unavailable.

Why can't I romance XY with an 18 year old character? Because this is not a Young Adult novel. Some of the ROs are older and they simply aren't romantically interested in such a young main character. 

Why can I even choose "late teen" for my character if I can't romance all of the ROs with it? Because one of the ROs is 18, so I wanted to give you a chance to play a main character of the same age. 

Why didn't you answer the message I sent you? Probably because I didn't get to it yet. I don't spend much time on social media, and it sometimes takes time to get through my inbox. I also prefer to add something meaningful in my answers, and if you send a lovely message but no specifics, I will cherish the message but I may not answer it.

If weeks have passed and I still haven't answered your ask, then it could be because the message was too vague, or too weird, or the question has been answered many times before, or it was rude and got deleted/blocked.

Will there be a goose DLC? Maybe.

Hello Nebraska!! I just want to say that your Sonadow fanfic, The Secret In Your Quills, is one of the best Sonadow fanfics I've ever read in my entire life! The writing is so epic, and I'm so excited for the final chapters!!

I don't know if you are active on Twitter/X, AI has recently become one of the most talked-about and controversial topics there, and I’d like to know your opinion, especially since you are a wonderful writer.

To you, is using AI to improve and/or correct writing and grammar mistakes considered cheating?

Here’s the thing: I have a friend who is currently writing a book. He built the entire foundation, he came up with a good story, characters, the plot, and everything. But there’s a problem: he’s not very skilled in writing and doesn’t know how to write certain parts. He struggles to describe certain scenes, forgets words that could be used, and makes many, like really, many spelling and grammar mistakes. Not only that, but he also tends to drift off from certain contexts, making parts of the story confusing or nonsensical.

Because of that, he asks ChatGPT to help him with his writing. For example, he writes a section of his book and asks the chat to improve that part, like making it longer, more detailed, and most importantly, correcting grammar mistakes and polishing the writing. When ChatGPT finishes generating the revised version, he reads it to see if it matches what he had in mind. If it doesn’t, he tweaks a few things. And when it finally fits what he wants, he adds it to his book.

But this made me think, and the question kept spinning in my head, so I’d really like to know: is AI actually helping him, or not? I don’t have many friends, and the ones I asked didn’t give me any solid opinions about him using ChatGPT to assist with his writing (assist and improve, not come up with ideas or write it for him).

So I decided to bring the question here to you: Is using AI to help or improve your writing considered cheating or unoriginal?

He doesn't have Tumblr, and since I'm sending this to you anonymously, he will never know that it's me LOL, but I'm serious. What is your opinion about this?

Oof, AI is kind of a tricky subject, and I certainly have a lot of thoughts/opinions on it.

Overall, I don't think AI has a place in writing fiction when it comes to the actual process of writing. Creative writing is an art form, a way of sharing something you've created with others, and having something else nonhuman create that art kind of takes away from the whole purpose. What this means is, when I write, I embrace all of it. The good, the bad, the ugly. The highs of exciting, juicy, and emotional scenes, and the lows of the less fun stuff that comes in between. If you cut corners by having AI write parts of it for you, you're not really growing or evolving as a writer because you don't ever challenge yourself (and listen, you don't have to want to improve your craft while writing fanfiction, but at the same time, if you're incapable of writing the whole thing without having AI fill in the gaps, then it's probably time to reevaluate what you're trying to get out of your writing, if it's not completely yours). It might be a harsh opinion, but at the same time, writing is a form of expression, so why wouldn't you want everything you share with the world to be completely yours in your own unique voice? Isn't that kind of the whole point?

But there's nuance. Having AI help with grammar is a feature that has been in writing softwares since the dawn of the dinosaurs. I tend to ignore grammar suggestions more than half the time because they're either incorrect or because I'm intentionally breaking the rules, but it's still nice to have when reviewing/editing chapters. And idk. AI probably has other nice and innocent features I don't know about because I've never used it before out of principle.

I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers. I'm pretty anti-ai, but that's because in a lot of ways, I see it as an insult to art and the creation process that is innate in us as a species. It has its places in society, but the creative world isn't one of them. Truthfully, I count my lucky stars that I completed my English Literature degree before AI was a thing... I would have hated to navigate that through my courses.

3-4 of my posts regarding the Minecraft Movie have gone viral. And as someone who has never had a post go viral before I gotta say…

I do not like it.

Maybe on other websites it’s not a big deal, but here on tumblr it is a nightmare.

The biggest issue is that it’s really hard to filter the reblogs and be able to respond to things. If I’m like scrolling down through the reblogs to see what people are saying or writing, the SECOND a new reblog or like comes in tumblr INSTANTLY jumps me back up to the top. Because tumblr wants me to see that someone new is reblogging my posts.

And when you’re only dealing with 1 or 2 new reblogs or likes every few minutes or hours… not a problem.

But when it’s literally multiple times a SECOND? Omg… I can’t scroll down. I can’t keep up. It’s just CONSTANTLY snapping me back up to the top and I can’t scroll through anything and see what people are saying!!!

I was hoping after a few days it would slow down… BUT IT HASN’T. The only way I’ve been able to respond to anything lately is by manually finding the individual posts or reblogs themselves and scrolling through the comments there instead.

The second issue is that tumblr keeps your post as it was reblogged. Even if you edit the post later to fix a spelling or grammar mistake, tumblr keeps the incorrect version of the post if that was reblogged before you corrected things.

And for example, in one of the viral posts my phone auto corrected “Piglins” to “pigeons.” And I didn’t notice it at first until the post was well into being viral and someone pointed it out. But even after I corrected the mistake, it had been reblogged so many times now that the incorrect version is all anyone sees. So I’m still getting people telling me I wrote it wrong LONG after I already fixed it 😭

I post primarily about gay MCSM content. Specifically involving female Jessie and Petra. I don’t generally post about other Minecraft stuff, as I try to keep my blog focused on MCSM related content. I probably wouldn’t mind too much if going viral meant more people saw some of the gay MCSM content I reblog or talk about…

But none of the viral reblogging has transferred over into any of my other posts. Which is sad because one of the viral posts is about people talking about how good MCSM is. After nearly a decade of people talking down on MCSM it’s so fantastic to see so many people stepping up and defending it and saying it was good… but none of that positivity is spreading into any of my other posts about the game!

You guys actually liked MCSM? Please… come into the MCSM fandom! Inject your love of the game into this fandom! We NEED you here! We’ve felt so isolated and small! Where have you all been? Why won’t you join us here and create new art or talk about your favorite characters or moments?

Why hasn’t any of my viral success transferred into more fans of the game joining the MCSM community? 😭 It’s so gratifying to see the love of MCSM in the comments to the Minecraft Movie trailer… why isn’t that resulting in more people coming into the fandom on tumblr?

Don’t get me wrong… it’s nice that people liked some of my posts enough for them to go viral. But the way tumblr works makes going viral really difficult to deal with and I’m not seeing the cross pollination of MCSM fans into any of the OTHER posts I’ve made about MCSM!

Learning French #2

This one is going to be about indirect obects and how prepositions affect a sentence.

I struggled a lot with understanding this because in english and french direct objects and indirect objects in a sentence have different roles. And since french then is my 3rd langauge this became confusing really quick. If anyone of you noticed my english grammar is not 100% this is why.

So indirect object in english usually follow a very simple rule. If its not the main thing the verb is acting on its the 2nd or indirect object. Such as: I talked to him in my car.

I = Subject

talked = Verb

to = Preposition

him = Direct object

in = Preposition

my = Possesive Pronoun

car = indirect object

This becomes very clear because i could be trying to talk to my car but it would be a bit strange. So talked to relates to him first, which makes him the direct object.

However this is not how direct object works in french. The sentence:

Je parle avec lui dans ma voiture.

Technically has no direct object and this gets confusing. This is because anything that usually follow a preposition in french is never a direct object but always a indirect object. I dont know if this is absolut across every place but so far i dont know of any exceptions so please correct me if im wrong. The sentence then becomes:

Je = Subject

parle = Verb

avec = Preposition

lui = Indirect Object*** (Technically Indirect Pronoun)

dans = Preposition

ma = Possesive pronoun

voiture = Indirect Object

Technically as far as i understand "Je parle avec lui dans ma voiture" Is not gramatically wrong however there is one problem with it: Prepositions in a sentence makes whats after it a indirect object which means we dont really need avec unless we want to specify how he is talked to.

Je parle avec lui dans ma voiture. (I speak with him in my car.)

Je parle à lui dans ma voiture. (I speak to him in my car.)

The first sentence sort of becomes correct because we specify that we are talking with him, like collaboratory. But the second sentence is technically gramatically correct but lui (him) is in french a indirect pronoun which means the à (to) is implied already and usually we change it to:

Je lui parle dans ma voiture. (I speak to him in my car)

We move lui before the verb because it sounds more natural (I dont know why, ask the french) But Je parle à lui. is not technically wrong it just sounds a little stranger (According to the research ive done)

But saying Je parle avec lui. Is more okay because à (to) is implied in lui, but avec (with) is a different preposition. Which means it changes the slight meaning of the sentence. However it is incorrect to write:

Je parle avec le. (I speak with him.) X

Because le is a direct object pronoun. And even though we have avec before le it dosent automatically makes le indirect. It just makes it two things we dont add together. If there is a preposition its indirect object or a indirect pronoun like lui. To use le correctly as a direct object pronoun we could for example say.

Le gâteau est délicieux. Je le mange. (The cake is delicious. I eat it.) Here the use of le is correct in the second sentence because le refers to the cake. However if we write "Je le mange." Without anything else it becomes a little problematic because we dont know what le (it) refers to yet. This is almost the same rule as english follows.

Please comment and correct me if you find any mistakes, I am very new to french only (5 months) so I don't know if there is any mistakes yet. I know more since last post but i am still struggeling xd.

I am an artist, a writer and a gamer! Though drawing takes a lot more time for me to do because it's easy for me to get distracted, as well as the fact that it takes some time for me to finish sketching, linearting and shading, since I'm a bit of a perfectionist... But it's quicker for me to write! Which might result in less than perfect grammar, forgotten words, incorrect use of words and spelling. I'm no English major!!!

Certain malapropisms. (The only exceptions are if you're clearly doing it on purpose (real-life puns? use in literature?) or are named William Shakespeare. Aside from those instances, I can't think of anytime that this wouldn't interfere with conversation. Though, if you genuinely don't know, I will not fault you.)

Incorrect grammar (Ok, this one’s tendentious—I’ll just say my opinion on this may shift and I’m in the process of re-evaluating my views. I will forgive anyone who doesn't know any better or wasn't taught or has reasonably forgotten, just not people who do it on purpose—unless it's for stylistic purposes or for another good reason. I.e., unless you're trying to make your point more precise or you're making some kind of deliberate, rhetorical move, why would you use certain constructions? Generally, there are a few I do not like, but that's subjective.)

Too many sequins or general tackiness and some plastic, modern things (This one's also subjective, of course. Sorry if I have terrible taste to you.)

Certain technological updates that require me to adapt or that have a learning curve/starkly different visual display

Certain too-saccharine things, and that's both on a literal and figurative level. Take chewing gum for instance. Also, certain types of cake frosting.

From this moment on I go into busy mode again, but I didn't want to leave without wishing all my mutuals and all simblrs in general a very Happy New Year 2024 and dedicate some words I have been meaning to say to you but hadn't found the time or the appropriate way to do it.

I'll start by saying to all of you who had a hard time in 2023, those who went through depression, physical and/or mental health problems, family problems, marital problems, work problems, problems with your children, with your partners, with your parents or grandparents. To all those who in some way suffered or were hurt in the year that is ending -and assuming that all of us here, or most of us, are storytellers-, my advice is: don't stop writing, ever. Keep doing it through it all, through the good times as well as the bad; write even if the tears well up in your eyes and fall on the keyboard. Just write!

Writing heals, cures and consoles, because it is what we do and because there is no better way to get out all that we carry inside, be it sad or happy. I went through the long night of depression myself and I can say with all certainty that writing was what pulled me through, and that although it may not seem so, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it's never as dark as when it's about to dawn. I suffered from depression since 2006 and for many years; around that time I started a novel that took me 14 years to write. Through all that time, I slowly healed, and by the time I finished, I was free of all the demons that drove me to write that particular story in the first place.

Okay, enough of me, I want to tell my mutuals, that I love what you write/create, and I really enjoy your work, be it stories or gameplay; and not only those who write, but also those who make custom content, mods, those who create any kind of art, those who take beautiful pictures, those who share memes or funny things about their pets. All of you, know that I read you every day and I take you with me everywhere I go, because you are so talented, creative, funny and interesting.

I don't always have the courage to comment on your posts, be it about sims or personal, for different reasons, mainly because of language barriers, because as you know, English is not my native language, and sometimes I don't have my translator at hand to confirm that what I am writing is correct, or if there is a spelling or grammar mistake or a typo in there; also because of my social awkwardness, as I am a rather shy and introverted person; and the fact that I'm an old simmer, cause believe me, compared to many of you I am old, and this makes me afraid of saying something out of place, out of time, or of being politically incorrect. This may sound silly, but I was born and raised in a time where people thought and acted very differently, even in my early years of sims on the internet, everything was way different than it is now. Well, those are the reasons why I don't always comment, but the fact is that I read you, I like what you do, what you write, I'm in love with your characters -who are already part of my sim-universe-; your stories capture my imagination, intrigue me, interest me, amuse me and, above all, teach me, because I've learned a lot from you, talented creatures, in the time I've been reading your work.

Anyway, I got off my chest what I've been wanting to tell you for days now. I also want to thank you for all your likes, comments, questions, messages, and in general for all the love I received from you this year, it's amazing. I never expected so much in just one year, really. So, thank you, both to those who have been following me for a long time, and have stayed with me and my chaotic stories, and to the new followers, Sims 3 and Sims 4, I thank you all.

Well, this was already very long, sorry for the rambling, lol, I wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year, may all your dreams and plans become a beautiful reality in the year that begins, because, believe me, some dreams do come true, I had the joy of confirming it right at the end of this year.

LOGICO: Mayor Honey is obviously the cause of all this. IRRATINO: How do you know? LOGICO: With how predictable the storyline’s been lately, there is no way in hell this whole cult thing doesn’t boil down to Mayor Honey is behind everything blah blah blah.

Irratino can’t argue with that. So they head to his office, which is all the way back in town. He’s the mayor of Central too, of course!

LOGICO: EXCUSE me, we have some things to discuss. HONEY: I’m very busy! Speak to my secretary!!

There’s one major problem, though. Honey’s secretary is human, and by human, I mean dead.

HONEY: Oh dear. Looks like there’s a murder to solve first! Heh heh…

Logico growls. Azure appears, and nearly karate-chops him with a backflip.

LOGICO: JESUS CHRIST. How did you get here so fast??? AZURE: What are you talking about… LOGICO: You were JUST in New Aegis. AZURE: No, Logico. I am BISHOP Azure. Astrologer Azure is just a figment of your imagination!

Logico knows he’ll never get a straight answer, and can only wonder. The lizard continues her martial arts schtick. 

AZURE: Prayer is not enough to solve my problems. I must use my own two hands! LOGICO: I didn’t ask.

Irratino tries to sit down, but Honey quickly gets in the way.

HONEY: This is the most luxurious couch to have ever lived!  IRRATINO: Lived? HONEY: Hey! To keep it looking sharp, I can’t get anyone’s fur on it but my own.

He kicks up his giant duck feet in Irratino’s face, and he leaves. 

LOGICO: Irratino, a little help…

There’s a locked cabinet, and it’s slightly shaking! Is Honey keeping someone prisoner? Irratino knocks on the wood. The cabinet jumps with a bark.

COPPER: [muffled] GET OUT OF HERE! Wait… you’re not in here. Who are you?? LOGICO: Never mind then. COPPER: [grunting] I told that idiot not to lock it… [shatter] Goddammit! OPEN THIS DOOR!

Irratino glances over at Honey, who would have the key. Logico looks back at the cabinet and shakes his head.

COPPER: SERIOUSLY, WHO’S OUT THERE?? PEOPLE! HELLOOOOO! [thump] OW! THERE’S BROKEN GLASS!!

Irratino gets a vision to help Logico, involving one of their exclusive codes. To ensure it works, he has another vision of Logico, receiving the coded message.

To Logico, it just looks like he has his eyes closed and is waving his arms around.

LOGICO: Wake up dumbass. IRRATINO: Did you get my message? LOGICO: No! I already know it’s Mayor Honey, loafing away on his dumb sofa couch! HONEY: Outrageous! This is slander! …Or libel. Hmm. I can never remember which is which. LOGICO: Anyway, everyone knows that you’re the real cause of the cult in New Aegis. IRRATINO: Logico! Not only do you have no evidence for that, ‘sofa couch’ is a redundant phrase! HONEY: HA HA! You think politicians can lose their jobs over a little scandal like having your opposition killed by a closely affiliated cult? You’ll never prove it, and I’ll keep getting away with it forever!

Logico immediately uploads his confession to YouTube. 

HONEY: . . .

The oxymorons go home to get some rest, and incidental music starts playing to close off the episode. Logico wonders where it’s coming from.

Like yes, i for others to treat me like they would someone else, but at the same time acknowledging that i have some things off would be nice.

I have disorganized speech- i often struggle with speaking, have pauses, use incorrect words and grammar, forget words, etc. It's mostly due to psychosis, and it's something i am very insecure about. Same goes with my memory loss. I've forgotten words, important events, personal i formation and such details, and it is very much frustrating when i struggle to even remember my own native language. Yet the only time anyone acknowledges that is when they joke about it. They'll get angry about me forgetting to do something, they'll think i'm dumb when i make a complete word salad, and then they'll poke fun at me, but they'll still fail to see the underlying problem. And even if they do, they won't think it's a big deal.

When i was younger and my school asked if i'll need any special treatment, my dad said "It's nothing to worry about". I spent the next 2 years with shitty grades due to the cognitive issues that came with psychosis, bullied becouse i was seen as weird, and always late becouse my pills made me so awfuly sleepy and drowsy. My family was either angry or joked about it. And my school didn't do anything becouse my dad already told them that it's nothing to worry about.

It feels like they're just pretending that i'm a normal son. Like all my flaws and failiures are due to my own character, and not some other untreated issue. It feels like any progress that i make is ruined by either them bullying me, or by the fact that they won't even try to accommodate for my issues, becouse they don't think i have any.

The worst I've done was researching the schooling/education, as well as town/location for SMFM BECAUSE I use a fake name for the towns and the fact it was a grammar school was only mentioned once, so it was a waste of time. But it is based on a real place and the way they got into the Grammar school, and how they became a paramedic and psychology teacher are all legit. I also spent hours studying the villa they're staying at and given there is no floor plan, I literally drew every bedroom and studied every video I could to work out the layout and then tried to place them together. I would have spent about eight hours on it... and for what? No one needs to know where all fourteen bedrooms are???? That was a waste.

I've spent hours upon hours upon hours researching for YMAEWK, especially around the legalities of contracts, and just closeting and the music industry in general. I really want it to be in the realms of reality and while the storyline is different, there are definitely elements of it being canon as well. I think it's the only fic I've reached out to people for.

I think it's the only fic I've reached out to strangers for, and I've never had any issues except being ghosted, lol. I contacted about 15 music management businesses in Australia a couple of months ago, and not one of them got back to me. I've emailed three Uni professors in the UK who have PhDs in various areas of the music industry and have written publications on them and they all got back to me and were kind but couldn't tell me too much.

The business that tweet was about was okay. More confused than anything.

For ychiits, I just asked a lot of friends questions if they were in their area of speciality. I told them they couldn't ask me why I was asking, lol.

I just don't want to do anything that pulls people of the fic being like "well that's not realistic at all". The was one singular thing I said in ymaewk that I knew wasn't entirely true for the UK and someone from there called it out, lol. I needed to word it the way I did to move the plot in the direction that I did and someone caught it straight away. I don't want stuff like that to happen.

I was talking to to a friend about another fic - a really old one - and while they aren't from the UK, they are from Europe, and there was something in that fic that was an inconsistency for a fic set in the UK, and they went spoke about it for a good couple of minutes (which I thoroughly enjoyed, lol), but it was another reminder that inconsistencies can really throw people off.

I know people who can't read football au's because they aren't accurate enough, and they literally can't get through it because it makes them so angry.

There was a line in ychiits that I know someone knew was incorrect because she's an expert in the field, and I'm not, lol. I think she was able to overlook it enough to enjoy the fic, but it still stuck out to her (I don't know if I've fixed it yet, actually).

I'm sure there are plenty of other things I've overlooked as well. I realised that I hadn't even thought about the fact that in SMFM they're in Spain and I can't just assume that everyone there can speak English so I had to make some amendments to that.

And that's totally fine and if people would rather lose a couple of readers than do 30 hours of research, I completely understand and it's probably the smart thing to do... it's just not who I am, lol.

But if anyone does ever find inconsistencies, please DM me to let me know so I can fix them! I'd be so grateful and not at all offended lol.

Fanfiction Pet Peeves in No Particular Order

(I primarily read Naruto fanfiction so all my examples are related to Naruto.)

(I'm also gonna say that none of this matters if fanfiction and similar fanworks are being made for fun. These are just personal pet peeves.)

No paragraph spacing or punctuation. I don't see it often, but it can make fics unreadable when it happens.

Character bashing, especially if that character is also out of character. It's just annoying and more often than not it interrupts the story. Most of the time it feels like the author is trying to meet a hating-this-character quota for the day.

Overuse of purple pros and complicated words. These things are not only usually used incorrectly or are inconsistent, but it makes it feel like the author is trying too hard to sound smart. Also, if your story needs a dictionary on standby to read, you need to edit it.

Author's notes in the middle of the story. It ruins the pacing of the story and throws off audience investment. Also, no one wants to read something with the author breathing down their neck. If something needs to be clarified, clarify it in the story. If you want to offer your thoughts, wait til the end.

Incorrect/inconsistent use of Japanese words, grammar, and honorifics. There's nothing wrong with writing fanfiction in English as an English speaker. Adding words and whatnot that you don't understand is noticeable and unnecessary.

First person perspective.

Making a character too out of character. In fanfiction there's some leeway to account for character interpretation and how the alternate universe could've affected them, but after a certain point the character changes just don't make sense. This is especially annoying in shipping fanfiction. If you don't like the dynamic between the characters, why are you writing about them to begin with?

Treating characters as defenseless kicked puppies. I find this particularly annoying in Naruto fanfiction because the Naruto series doesn't treat anyone as kicked puppies. Characters like Itachi, Nagato, Sasuke, and Naruto are treated as sympathetic, yes, but the narrative doesn't excuse their actions because of that. Itachi is treated as making the wrong decision, Nagato is treated as hypocritical, Sasuke is treated as in the wrong, and Naruto is treated as rude and acting out(until he goes through his character arc). Even Hinata, the easiest character to make into a kicked puppy, is treated with more agency in the original narrative than characters like Sasuke are treated in fanworks.

Angst for the sake of it. The way I see it, if angst isn't being used for character development, plot progression, or to make some sort of commentary(on the original work, the real world, etc.), then it's just unnecessary knife twisting. This problem becomes worse exponentially with every time it's used.

Poorly handled slowburns. If the characters kiss within the first 1000 words, the fic isn't slowburn. If there's no progression of the characters liking each other before they're suddenly together at the end, the fic isn't slowburn.

Difficult to follow plots and characters. Fanfiction plots don't have to be perfect, but the audience should at least understand why characters are doing what they're doing. I've come across too many "And then the characters went over there!" plots in fanfiction.

Fanworks without plots or conflicts. If a story is a series of one shots, is just a one shot, or is tagged as not having a plot(like PWP), this isn't a problem for me. But the second a story has a linear plot, I expect an actual plot. It gets really boring when stories refuse to introduce conflict.

Unbalanced writing/obvious author preferences. Obviously background characters will get less screentime, complexity, and development, but if a fanfiction has multiple main characters, I expect them all to be given the time and attention of a main character.

Not properly tagging the fanfiction. I don't care if it's because you wanted a plot twist, tag the fic properly. Character death, character reveals, scenes that feature specific things(a general rule is that if it can be considered a trigger or fetish, you need to tag it), and other similar things(I'd even consider things like infidelity to fall under this) need to be tagged regardless of what effect you want the scene to have on your audience.

These are all of the things that I can think of off the top of my head, but there would probably be more if I really tried to make a list of everything(I might just be picky). Feel free to share any fanfiction pet peeves you have.
