Apparently I can meet my goal of roughly 400,000 words in 6 months if I just somehow write at least 2,200 words a day ghbjh... Almost 2,500 today... huzzah...
#Definitely not going to be able to stick with it just due to like... being realistic about my energy levels and etc. ESPECIALLY as we#enter the Evil Summer and it becomes hot all the time. But... one can attempt.. at least...#I'm also a very slow writer since I tend to re-read and edit while I write. and only move onto the next section once what I'm writing#seems okay. Which is easy for visual novel type stuff. since ''sections'' of a conversation are more clearly marked (like if you#have a menu option with 5 different dialogue choices. finish the character's response for choice 1 before moving onto 2. etc.)#Especially since when I'm done with a whole quest I always follow it up by playing through it and picking every option and making sure it#actually all works okay and etc. So I am already going to see it all a second time. Then I can go back and reorder a few words or remove#certain sentences that don't sound natural when I read them out loud (I always read it all outloud to myself since it is... just peple#talking.. it should sound like natural dialogue in their voice. etc). But my ''first draft'' is kind of not as first drafty since I pause t#edit a lot as I go along. So it also takes longer probably than it would take other people who I think treat a first draft as more#of a loose guideline or something. AANYWAY...#80F in my bedroom right now again... huzzah... I did end up finishing and recording that sims build video before the heat wave (or is#it really a heat wave if it's just summer..?? lol) came in.. but now... augh.. the editing... plus the costume photos and all else... dc is doing a little mini relaunch after the current crossover finishes and honestly thank god because literally only two of their current ongoings interest me but there's a bunch of fun looking stuff happening in november that i might actually look at. and also it's starting series for several guys who should have had ongoings this whole time like the fucking JUSTICE LEAGUE

that new silent hill game that came out yesterday is. well
#i knew not to expect much cuz like 1. its free and pretty short and 2. its a new silent hill game so. yknow#it is pretty mid. the story is interesting at points but its SO straightforward like 90% of the time which isnt bad usually#but for a silent hill game it's definitely disappointing. also the lack of any actual gameplay besides walking around and reading things#if i have to give it any props. i think the otherworld/monster design was cool (cuz it was done by masahiro ito) and its a pretty game#also also this is a stretch but. im almost certain this is gonna have some connection to silent hill f#the flower rotting motif + the mention of a japanese clairvoyant being persecuted as a witch seems like what theyre going for w f

new shoes btw. again
#last time i posted like this it was for the comme des garcons high tops that arrived JUST IN TIME for hollywood bowl. ah. love those shoes#now ive finally got campers. again very fortunately for way way lower than they go for new#the color is really more of a like hot pink i think I thought it would have more red. its still groovy#tried em on very briefly and ok. they do seem pretty comfy. dubiously comfy. like not cushiony soft yet they dont hurt???#like the sole doesnt feel soft and yet it feels comfortable like im not feeling it at all or it doesn't hurt my feet. inchresting#it also seemed like something w the shape of the sole/shoe made me kinda stand up straighter we will see . but so far so good#got mildly allergic from touching them so its just as if id borrowed them from that catboy#anyway. no more shoes for me until i absolutely must have more shoes#campers also a funny brand in that their styles at least to me are either cool or ugly zero in between. some of their designs.... not it#but then others are cool and groovy. fun!#thank you old man for influencing my fashion choices. listening and learning every day

Is there some kind of community or volunteer program I could join to learn how to make designs and modifications for prosthetics? I’m more of an artist than an engineer, but I’ve always been kinda obsessed with the sculptural properties of prosthetics. Obviously when designing one, though, function and comfort come first, so if I ever got into it, I would want to make sure I’m making things people can actually use (not to mention afford).
#i’ve kinda avoided asking this since i was never sure if it’s okay to be so interested in this when I’m not a prosthetics user myself#but i guess it can’t hurt to ask!#prosthetics are already so cool and there’s a lot of smarter people than me working in that field#but i just think about how much prosthetic art/sculpture/fashion doesn't readily exist on the market#just because there's supposedly 'not enough interest/demand' for it?#and it's so frustrating because like-#can you imagine if there was some ultra-famous red carpet actress with a prosthetic arm and leg?#like what would it be like to have teams of prosthetic design experts regularly collaborating with a hollywood wardrobe team?#It’s a big deal for celebrities to have a new outfit at every event for whatever reason#but would that mean they could make a new set of prosthetics to go with the outfit for every big event?#what about entire outfits where the prosthetics are the statement pieces?#High fashion is always trying to ‘re-interpret the human form’ but prosthetic users are r i g h t t h e r e#I know i’m far from the only person who’s ever imagined this kind of thing but#everyone around me always seems to think imaginative prosthetic designs are just inevitably 'irrelevant'#and i just feel like no one in my circle has any interest in appreciating how#mind-numbingly cool they are and how much potential they hold for self expression#Maybe i just want to be around other people who get excited about prosthetics and other mobility aids#but i would also really love to be a part of making more!#Like obviously the cripplepunk community doesn’t need my help lmaoo literally no one needs m y help I know nothing about anything#I just think it’s cool and would love getting to assist other people in making their ideas for their own bodies happen!#tag rambles#prosthetics#mobility aids#not vent

scarlet and violet have such a distinctly different design direction from past games. i can't say it's bad, per se; but it does feel a little jarring and i'm still getting used to it.
#pokemon#pokemon sv#a lot of the new mons feel more simplistic and stylized from past designs?#like even final stages which i feel tend to have more of a Cool! Factor to them#but that contrasts with an environment that seems to be shooting for a more naturalistic style#and i would argue the human characters also feel designed to be little more grounded#obvi there's exceptions like iono#but outside her giant hair accessories she doesn't feel so out there#personally bw and b2w2 had my favorite art direction overall#like rn im comparing iono and elesa in my head

i need a new phone, they're making me get a new sim card and this one's like ... so full
i don't have anywhere to store things to back it up but still have them accessible bc i don't have a desktop and like - my sd card is so full i can't save stuff from the phone to it
but new phones don't have sd card slots anymore????????????????
along with not having headphone jacks
so like i literally cannot buy a new phone and transfer all the crap on this one bc none of them have enough memory????????????
even the really fancy pricey ones are utterly shit in this regard??????????
(for clarity: i am speaking solely of android phones, i know not of iphones, i've given up on apple)
like i want a phone i can do photo edits on AND download mvs AND store multiple instances of 51 fifty-minute long episodes of a single chinese tv show to watch whenever PLUS a bunch of movies and screen recordings?
128GB is NOT ENOUGH for that especially since at least 12GB will end up being OS right?
like i literally was just looking to buy a new phone of the exact same kind i have right now bc it's perfect - it's only flaw is that it's old and full and won't be getting new updates - but i can't bc they're literally only available refurbished and then STILL thin on the ground

The wildest thing about Ben 10 is that it took until 2005 for someone to have the idea "what if a kid could turn into a bunch of aliens" like this isn't obviously the coolest and most marketable premise for anything ever. Each design is a new toy. A new powerset. Come on.
But to prove that it wasn't a fluke, they continued to have the best ideas for every aspect of it. How does he transform? A cool watch you can also sell as a toy. That watch's name? Omnitrix. Say it. It's so satisfying. How many aliens? Ten. Nice round number. The kid's name? Ben. The show's name? Ben Ten. His full name is Benjamin Tennyson, a normal, plausible name, but he also turns into 10 aliens.
Bigger brands dream about this synergy. Better writers would kill for this coherence. So holistic. So intuitive. The identity alone!!! The retro alien sound motif? Chilling. The green? Any other color would be wrong. The kirby krackle pattern? It seems so obvious in retrospect. The roadtrip format? Genius. Lesser writers would've done the spider-man high school thing. His arch nemesis being Cthulhu darth vader? Inspired, iconic, intimidating!
The execution has its highs and lows, but the idea??? Game changing. So self-evident that it seems inevitable. If Ben 10 didn't exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
