A/N: it was definitely time to bring our fav duo back and they are making a comeback with a very emotional little scene! special thanks to @harrysblackcoat for always brainstorming with me when it comes to this universe!

MORE FROM THE NAN&HARRY UNIVERSE

“H? Harry? Babe?” you call out to Harry several times before he gives sign of even hearing you.

“Huh?” he hums, eyes glued to the road ahead of him.

“Your fingers will fall off,” you say with a soft smile.

“What?” His eyebrows knit together as he glances down at his hands and realize what you were talking about. His knuckles are turning white from how tight he is gripping the stirring wheel. He loosens his hold, but you can tell he is spiraling in his head. “Sorry, what were you saying?” he clears his throat.

“Babe, why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?” you chuckle, placing a gentle hand to his thigh and his hand instantly moves to grab yours and lace your fingers together.

“I’m just… nervous.”

“For what exactly?”

“I’m scared what she’ll think. I don’t… I don’t want to disappoint her with our decision, you know?” He glances at you shortly and you catch the doubt in his eyes and you wish you could just take it all away so he could finally relax.

“You should know by now you could never disappoint her, she loves you like you’re her grandson.”

“That doesn’t matter, you can still disappoint a family member.”

“Why do you think she’ll get mad?”

“Because we are messing up the order of things.”

“There’s no order.”

He gives you a look that says ‘Stop gaslighting me, it’s not the right time’ and you give up with a sigh.

“To our generation there might be no right order, but what if she’s a lot more old-fashioned?”

“It’s gonna be fine, I promise,” is all you can say. You know whatever you’d bring up he would have a hard time believing you so he won’t relax until he hears it from Nan.

He pulls up to her house and when you get out of the car he grabs your hand and holds it tight as you walk up to the front door, ringing the bell. You didn’t tell Nan you’d drop by, you wanted it to be a total surprise, though the bomb you’re about to drop on her is a lot bigger than your unannounced visit.

The front door opens and there she is, in her flowery apron, her grey hair hidden under a colorful scarf. She looks like a real life fairy godmother straight out of a fairytale.

“Oh my God! Hi!” she beams when she realizes who’s on her front steps, holding the door open for the two of you.

“Hey Nan, sorry for the surprise, hope you’re not in the middle of something important,” you chuckle as you greet her with a hug, then Harry does the same.

“No! I was just about to make banana bread, but that can wait. Come on in! You want some tea?”

It’s an oddly warm day so you settle in the garden, Nan whips out her cute little teapot with the matching cups. Her beautiful cherry tree is already blooming, pink petals shower you every time a breeze runs through the branches. The garden looks just as fabulous as always, you’ve told her many times she should take photographs and put it online, people would love them.

“Our impromptu visit has a reason Nan,” you start, Harry’s hand gripping yours tight in your lap, his nerves are on the verge of snapping, you can tell.

“Oh, I’m listening!” she smiles and you turn to Harry, silently asking if you should say it or he wants to do the talking. He nods, clears his throat and takes a deep breath as he looks at Nan.

“Um, we have decided not to have the wedding this year,” he announces and his voice lacks his usual confidence.

“Really?” Nan blinks in surprise. “Why? Is there something wrong?”

“No,” you shake your head with a genuine smile. “There is nothing wrong.”

“It’s just that… We want to have it later, because we want another person to attend.”

You chuckle softly at Harry’s shady wording, because you know Nan won’t understand it, so either way, he’ll have to say it out loud.

“Is it a friend of yours, Harry? Someone famous? When are they going to be free?” she asks, so pure and innocent.

“No, it’s not a friend. This guest we want to be there is… our… baby.”

You can tell he is holding his breath staring at Nan, waiting for her reaction as his words sink in for her, complete shock taking over her face seconds later as she clasps her hands over her mouth with a shriek.

“Oh my Lord!” she gasps and Harry is still gripping your hand, because he can’t tell if it’s a positive reaction or not. Then she jumps to her feet, her hands falling from her mouth and the widest smile spreads across her face. “A baby! You’re having a baby!” she throws her arms into the air, like an excited little child as she rounds the table to hug you and you hear Harry finally letting out the breath he’s been holding.

“Yes!” you laugh, locking her in your arms.

“Thank God! What a blessing!” she laughs with you before letting go of you and turning to Harry, who is standing there, like a lost little kid, but the moment she hugs him as well, you see him melt into her embrace. It might be the hormones or just your usual emotional self, but you need to wipe a few tears away seeing the two of them. Harry has been so stressed about sharing the news with Nan, afraid what she might think about breaking up with the traditions and having a baby before getting married. He didn’t believe she would be thrilled anyway, but now he knows he has nothing to fear when it comes to Nan.

When Nan sits back you realize all three of you have teary eyes and you can’t help but chuckle when Harry circles his arm around your shoulders and kisses the crown of your head as you lean against him.

“How far along you, Darling?” she asks, wiping her eyes behind her glasses.

“Eleven weeks. So don’t tell anyone else yet, only the closest family knows.”

“Ah how exciting!” she claps.

“So you’re not upset? About the wedding?” Harry asks, just to be sure.

“Upset? Why would I be upset?”

“It’s not quite traditional to have a baby first and then get married.”

“Traditions serve the bonding between generations. You know what’s the greatest bond to happen in a family? A new member. A baby is always a blessing and all they need is love. We have lots of love around here and that’s all that matters.”

“Nan, don’t do this to me,” you chuckle through tears, because you did not expect this answer from her.

“Get married whenever you want, Darlings. Or never. It doesn’t matter as long as you love each other. I just want to see you happy.”

“We’re happy,” Harry smiles down at you and you nod, reassuring that the feeling is mutual.

You sit there talking until the tea runs cold and the Sun starts to set over the horizon. You tell Nan about how at first you wanted to have the wedding anyway when you found out you were pregnant, but then you had a dream where you held your baby in your arms in your wedding dress and you both took it as a sign that you should wait until your family expands. Having your baby there with you would make the moment even more special. She claims she knew something changed about you when she saw you, but you know she had no clue, but you don’t go against her.

You muse about names and Nan tells you what other names she had in mind when she was having your mom, some of them catch your attention and you add to your list too.

“Nan, we have a very important task for you,” you tell her before you’re about to leave.

“Oh! Do tell me!”

“We want a gender reveal party, do you know what that is?”

“Is it a party when you tell the gender of the baby?”

“Almost,” you chuckle.

“It’s where we find out. There are some fun ways, but the most common is when they order a cake that’s neutral on the outside and the filling is either pink or blue so when they cut into it they see the color and that’s gonna be the ender of the baby,” Harry explains to her.

“That is very clever!”

“Yeah, and we want you to make our cake,” you tell her. “That means you’ll be the first person to find out the gender.”

“Oh my God! Really?” she gasps.

“Yes,” you smile at her as she pulls you into another hug.

“Only if you take this very important role,” Harry adds.

“Of course I will! You can have the party here! I’ll set everything up!”

It was the original plan too, to gather at Nan’s, a cute, intimate party with your loved ones to celebrate the new addition to your growing family.

Harry promises Nan to drop by later in the week to talk more about how gender reveal parties work and help her start the planning and then you’re on your way home. The mood in the car is noticeably lighter, Harry’s body is relaxed, he keeps one hand on your thigh, gently squeezing it every so often. You don’t talk, but the silence and the stolen looks speak for you, Nan’s words hanging there between the two of you. You can’t help but cup a hand to your stomach that’s barely showing, thinking about how loved this baby already is.

EXCLUSIVE: One Direction’s Harry Styles caught kissing bandmate’s sister

One Direction charmer Harry Styles has been pictured kissing his bandmate’s sister, YN Tomlinson, at Harry’s childhood friend's University party that the pair attended together last night. Students who were at Jonny's party said “They really seemed to have a connection and only had eyes for each other”. Another student said “They were enjoying themselves, laughing and joking together..were even dancing together”. Harry and YN were then seen getting into Harry’s car where he drove her back to her hometown. Whilst we think the pair are sweet and clearly enjoying themselves, what we want to know is…What does Louis think about his bandmate and sister locking lips?

“I’M GONNA FOOKIN’ KILL HIM” I shouted as I slammed my phone down in front of me on the table.

“Louis..what’s wrong?” my mother questioned as she stood behind the kitchen counter prepping mugs of tea for my grandparents who were sitting opposite me at the dining table. “HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?” showing my Mum the article I just read and the photo attached. She only glanced at the photo quickly and continued making tea. “Oh no..no..please don’t tell me you already knew” I could see it on her face, she knew because she was not shocked, it was like she had already seen it.   “Louis..” my Mum began to speak. “No…this can’t be happening” I said with a sarcastic chuckle. “Where is she?”

“Look..I’ve been trying to sort this out all morning…do you think I wanted to be up half the night with my daughter sobbing in my arms ‘cause she thinks her brothers gonna hate her” my Mum spoke “Just please…calm down for a moment..and let's talk about this without the screaming and shouting..yeah?” “Louis…come and sit with your Nan and me a second son” Grandad interrupted. I went back to my original position and slumped in the chair and crossed my arms. My Grandad’s voice interrupted my thoughts “Okay..so you’re going to sit there a moment..without interrupting me..okay?” “Yeah” “Okay..I understand you’re angry” I interrupted him with a huff “..but answer me this..do you ‘onestly think Harry would risk the band and your friendship if he didn’t like her?” I thought about it and he was right, Harry wasn’t a nasty lad, in fact, he’s the one who tries to look out for everyone and always makes sure they're okay “No” “Does he talk about other girls..does he bring them back to the flat..is he disrespectful?” again, the answer was no. Even when the other boys were talking about their girlfriends or girls they liked Harry would always just sit there and listen. My Grandad’s voice spoke again “I’ll take your silence as a no…have you even considered that maybe they’re meant for each other…ey?” at these words, I looked up and saw my Mum and Nan give me a slight smile. “Okay I get your point…doesn’t mean I’m ‘appy ‘bout it though” I spoke. “Just promise me this” Grandad spoke again “when YN walks through that door…don’t scream, don’t shout, don’t assume anything…please just listen to her…Harry too” I thought about it and took a deep breath “Yeah..fine I promise” Feet are heard coming down the stairs and a couple of seconds later YN appears, walking very sheepishly. I’m given a warning look by my Mum and before I say anything YN’s voice is heard. “Lou..I’m so sorry..I really am” she said with tears threatening to spill from her eyes. I rub a hand over my face because I hate seeing my sisters upset. “I-I…w-we…we never meant t-to hurt you” she sobbed. I got up from my seat and walked over to her, opening my arms as my feet took me to her “Come ‘ere” and she wrapped her arms around me and sobbed into my chest “shh..c’mon it’s alright…I-I’m just shocked that’s all” After YN had calmed down a little and stopped crying, she joined me and our grandparents at the table. “Look..I can’t say I’m ‘appy ‘cause I’m not..but I just need some time to think okay” “I am sorry Lou” YN apologised again. “I know you are…where’s Harry now?” I asked. “He went back to London after the party last night” she explained. “So…is it serious then..you know..you like him?” YN nodded “Yeah..he’s really nice Lou…you should know that” she said with a slight grin. “Yeah…he is…I am gonna talk wiv him though..you know that” “Just listen to him Lou...’cause he’s actually terrified he’s messed up…not just wiv you but with me too”

I walked up to mine and Harry’s shared flat, having just driven almost three hours back from Doncaster. I put the key in the lock and opened the black door. I close the door behind me and kick off my shoes. I take a deep breath before I walk slowly towards the lounge door, as I was in Harry lifts his head from his hand where it was leaning on the arm of the sofa. “Louis” he began “L-l-look I’m…I don’t know what to say..but I’m sorry” I sat down on the sofa opposite him and leaned my elbows on my knees “I’d be fookin’ lying if I said I was ‘appy…but I’ve had time to think on me way ‘ome…and I’m tryin’ to do what’s best for me sister” “Is she okay?” Harry asked with worry written all over his face. “Uhh..yeah she’s okay…just a bit upset by the whole thing” “I’ve fucked up man” He said and buried his face in his hands. “Do you like her..like is it serious..or is just a phase?” I needed to know for sure. “Lou..I-I would never have risked this if I didn’t like her…I don’t how to describe it but..I can promise you it’s not just a phase…I’d never want to hurt her or you…you’re my best mate and I just wish I’d have told you and you didn’t find out like this” he rambled. “Harry” I spoke “If you hurt her..I will hunt you fookin’ down...now come ‘ere” I spoke as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. “I’ll look after her Lou..I promise” he squeezed me tighter “thanks for not punching me too..I’ve been waiting for it all morning” he said with a grin. “The band needs your handsome face…otherwise I would ‘ave” I joked. --- As I was walking back from Zayn’s flat where I’d been for the evening, watching football and filling him in on the situation, my phone buzzed in my jean pocket. YN Thank you for listening to Harry. I really am sorry Lou! I’ll phone you tomorrow, love you lots xxx I began tapping my fingers against the screen, adding the nickname I used to call her when we were younger. LouisI love you Tiny xx

Multiverse setting au where magically, LS Tom and Canon Voldemort changes places. The body is same just their souls swapped places. Imagine the chose

LS Tom in a magic world would be great if:

- His family was alive (murdered by… him? never. maybe he’d lock his dad away to punish him, sure, but he’d never hurt nan…)

- He was in his own body and not this repulsive creature …

- and, he had his soulmate with him.

He’s supposedly a dark wizard who wants to kill his school principal and has been plotting multiple murder attempts at the love of his life? It’s weird and out of character… except killing Cedric. That ugly fat faggot.

Why would he not simply seduce Harry and they could rule the magical world together? This version of himself is clearly retarded. At least he was smart enough to come up with Lord Voldemort, surprised he didn’t pick some stupid name like Great Wizard Of Darkness since he’s clearly stupid for trying to kill Harry.

Lord Voldemort in LS universe… Oh man.

IMO, I really think the shock would be worse for Voldemort than LS Tom, surprisingly because:

- No magic

- He’s 17-18 again, rather than late 60s…

- He lives with his family, who is alive….

- not in an orphanage

- What the hell is a gorefag?

- His death eaters are a bunch of teenage girls, not his inner circle

- He is apparently *dating* Harry Potter?

- What.

- Huh.

- What.

Like, switching bodies and universes is weird enough as is but going from a powerful dark lord to a weird version of yourself that has no magic and lives in the home you should’ve lived in growing up… I don’t even know. I just can’t imagine how he’d react beyond just a mental break, because it’s so insane and nothing he’d ever imagine. Maybe he’s soul would combine back together after a good hug from nan? 🤭. Meanwhile, LS Tom probably dreamed of canon, and beyond the shock of not being around his family, he’d find a way to adapt or get back home. (Definitely wants to meet Harry in this universe though… imagine the sexxxxx with MAGIC…..)

Dragged my sorry arse out of bed at 3AM for this flight to Gouda because apparently I hate myself. The taxi driver appeared at 4 like some chipper morning demon, desperate to chat despite my best "fuck off and die" vibes. No food, no water, basically a walking corpse with a passport. But hey, at least I got to play at being a fancy cunt in business class with their posh chair-bed bollocks.

They served up this wanky wooden plank of nibbles - proper pretentious shit. Cheese, meat circles that looked suspiciously like sliced corpse, hummus that could've been wall filler, and one tragic radish that some chef definitely threw on as a joke. Plus yoghurt wearing what looked like jam's worst toupee, a muffin that wouldn't have looked out of place in a drug mule's arsehole, and hot leaf juice. Michelin fucking star material. Later they tried pushing some egg disaster that looked like something I'd find in the pockets of a criminal.

Landed at 8 but couldn't check in until 3 because the universe is a sadistic bastard. Found this bike shop where they made me test-ride increasingly tiny bikes like I was auditioning for the fucking circus. Staff thought it was hilarious watching me try to fold myself onto these pocket-sized death traps. Five quid though - those London bike-rental cunts would've charged me my firstborn child and both kidneys. Plus you can just dump it anywhere when you're done, which is proper civilised for a country that's basically a giant cycle path.

Did the work shit, then stuffed my face with what they claimed were pancakes but were actually lying French bastards in disguise, plus a stroopwafel that was basically diabetes in disk form. Finally got into this B&B around 4 - same name as my husband's nan which is definitely not creepy at all. Came with a cat called Vivi but pronounced "FEE-fee" because normal names are clearly too mainstream for the Dutch.

Went to Amsterdam for my kapsalon fix because I'm basically a junkie for that shit. Had to brave the Red Light District which meant dodging American tourists either sneaking photos like the perverted twats they are or trying to break down doors like the Kool-Aid Man's violent cousin. Have some fucking manners, people!

Did this Van Gogh "experience" thing after - basically a room where they project his shit everywhere and you stand there like a twat pretending to be cultured. Eight euros and a free tote though, so basically daylight robbery in reverse.

By this point I was proper fucked. Made it back to find Vivi playing queen of the fucking manor in the dining room. She did that manipulative cat routine where they act like they don't actually want to murder you in your sleep, then followed me upstairs like a furry stalker. Ended up channel-surfing through absolute shite until I found some documentary about cock statues because of course that's what you want to see at midnight. Settled for Harry Potter speaking Dutch until I finally passed out. At least Voldemort sounds properly evil when he's speaking what sounds like someone choking on a windmill.

Fuck me, I don't like work trips.

of course individual responses will vary, but I have laughed until my eyes watered and my cheeks hurt at parts of some Diana Wynne Jones books. She's really wonderful.

It may also be relevant that she wrote a lot more books directed at children than at teens and adults, whereas Terry Pratchett began at the adults and older teens end of the spectrum and started writing more child-oriented books later on in his career (also at a time in publishing history when, due to the overblown success of the Harry Potter series, children's fantasy fiction was viewed as more respectable than it used to be - his books were always miles better than Harry Potter in any case but it's probably fair to say he benefited somewhat from that change in perception).

Indeed, I would say that one reason why I wasn't particularly impressed by the Harry Potter books when they appeared was that I'd cut my teeth on Diana Wynne Jones and then Terry Pratchett and therefore had higher standards.

My first Diana Wynne Jones book (which I vividly remember my mother brought from the library for me to read when I was sick in bed with a stomach bug - one always remembers a book that helped one forget feeling sick) was Witch Week which in some ways is like an anti-Harry Potter; it's set in a parallel modern England (early '80s) where magic is real but witchcraft is illegal and punishable by death, and the main characters are pupils at a boarding school for "witch-orphans and other children with problems." It has dual leads, a girl called Nan Pilgrim who's the descendant of a famous witch revolutionary (I dearly love Nan and her insights about the pecking order of her class, particularly "everyone is allowed to cross the line to be nasty to Brian Wentworth"), and a boy called Charles Morgan who once helped a witch to escape from the police and developed some behavioural problems out of a belief that helping someone supposed to be wicked meant he was wicked too. The story kicks off when their form teacher, Mr Crossley, finds a note hidden between their exercise books saying "SOMEONE IN THIS CLASS IS A WITCH," an extremely serious accusation. At the same time, both Nan and Charles are realising they may in fact be witches, which is both thrilling and terrifying.

This was the book that first introduced me to the whole idea of parallel universes and that really blew my hair back.

I've seen increasing buzz around here about Howl's Moving Castle (book). I think you all deserve to know that all of Diana Wynne Jones's books are filled with characters and plots that are absolutely as delightful and unhinged as that one.

Some Actual Plots include:

Dogsbody - The star Sirius is accused of murder and sentenced to exile on Earth in the body of a dog until he finds a magical item called a Zoi. He's adopted by a young Irish girl living with her abusive and neglectful English relatives. He has to balance his desire to find the Zoi with needing to be a Good Dog for the girl who takes care of him. Also the Wild Hunt is there. Hexwood - A girl finds a magical wood behind her house where she meets a wizard who thinks he's a convict of the intergalactic government, a boy created by the man to destroy said government, and a robot found in a junk heap. The magic wood is actually an alternate reality being generated by an AI who has a grudge to settle with the head of said government. The book is about abuse, PTSD, and trauma. The Dark Lord of Derkholm - Magical world is being destroyed by a company using it as an isekai amusement park for people from another dimension. Bio-wizard is appointed Dark Lord for the year, and he and his family (four of whom are bioengineered griffins) have to find a way to survive the season while everything is going wrong. Deep Secret - Interdimensional detective/diplomat/wizard needs to find a replacement for his deceased mentor. He does so at a fantasy convention, while trying to keep an interdimensional empire from collapsing into civil war after the emperor is assassinated along with all of his heirs.

She's an absolute master at weaving fantasy elements into the mundane world and writing from the PoV of kids. Her books are funny, clever, and full of delightful characters. I'm begging you all to check them out.

Draco’s stomach aches from laughing.

Potter had dragged him out to the hillside to watch the sunset, and somehow they've just… stayed, stretched out on the blanket. Potter had curled into Draco ages ago so that he could point out all of his favourite constellations, and Draco is achingly aware of every spot where they’re touching.

“And that one, that’s the Baker, obviously, and if you trace along that line of stars, it leads to the Cake.”

He’d wrapped his hand around Draco’s and lifted it to point at the sky and then just hadn’t let go. So now they’re holding hands as Potter continues with his creative interpretation of the stars, made all the funnier by the fact that it’s cloudy and there’s not a twinkle to be seen in the sky.

Potter pauses, lets his head rest on Draco’s chest and for a moment it feels like Potter is the only thing anchoring Draco to this earth. Something in Draco’s mind shifts and reorients, and instead of lying on his back on the grass looking up at the sky, Draco realizes that maybe he’s actually looking down into the eternal depths of the universe, and Potter is what stands between Draco and the endless fall.

Potter lifts his head. 

“Are you okay? Your heart just started racing. Are you having a funny turn?”

Draco snorts. “A funny turn? What are you, my nan?”

“Hey,” Potter says in mock outrage, poking Draco in the ribs. “I’ll have you know I…”

Whatever it is he wants Draco to know is left unsaid as Draco pokes him back and they turn and roll, until Draco ends up braced over Harry, pressed along the solid length of his body, both of them laughing, until their eyes catch and hold.

“Draco,” Potter whispers and reaches up to rest his hand against Draco’s face. 

“Yeah?” Draco whispers back, breathless with longing. 

“We should run away,” Potter says softly. “We should just… go.”

“Go where?” Draco asks and shivers as Potter’s thumb traces over his lips, a gentle touch that leaves sparks in its wake.

“Somewhere,” Potter replies. “Nowhere. It doesn’t matter.”

When his lips meet Draco’s in a sweet and gentle kiss, it’s like they’ve kissed a thousand times before over a hundred lifetimes. It’s familiar and yet still somehow wholly unexpected and new as Potter kisses Draco like he’s something precious, something to be protected and savoured. Like he matters. He kisses Draco until Draco has to pull back, gasping for air.

“Anywhere,” Potter says, his voice rough, “As long as we’re together.”

Five Fave Fics

The always lovely @haztobegood tagged me to share my Five Fave Fics - thank you so much! This is always really hard because my favourites oscillate depending on my mood and how recently I’ve written them, but here’s how I’m feeling it at the moment...

🍁 Man, Deconstructed | 14k | Explicit | I think this one will always be high up on my list of fave’s. It’s just the right length to read in one sitting, the characters are so earnest and adorable, and the secondhand embarrassment just gets me every single time. 

Where a well-meaning best mate, a sculpture-worthy arse, and a heaping dose of misunderstanding combine to create sheer and utter chaos, and also, maybe, the best thing Harry’s ever found.

🍁 The Future Is Now | 16k | Explicit | Another short one that always makes me smile. Louis is charmingly oblivious to what the universe (or rather the fortune telling machine) is trying to reveal to him about his best mate. He eventually gets there, of course, but the road he travels and the scenarios he has to navigate are deliciously infuriating and that just makes the ending even more satisfying.

Where Louis follows the fortunes five times to seek out his true love, and the one time he realises that what he's been searching for might've been right in front of him all along.

🍁 In A Twinkling | 90k | Explicit | Ahhhh my 2021 Advent Fic. It never ceases to amaze me how the underlying messages in this fic crept up and whacked me over the head. I still remember calling my sister mid-meltdown when people started commenting about Louis’ journey of self-discovery and how much it resonated with them. It had started as a quick romp of a thing, and then ended up consuming me in the best possible way. I’ll forever be grateful for the ride the readers took me on with this one, for how they embraced the characters, and for giving me the most wonderful Christmas Present that lasted the whole of December. 

Where Louis’ Nan just wants him to be happy, to settle down with a nice boy, and bring him around for Christmas. Louis is too busy with his career to bother about relationships, but in an attempt to appease his Nan, he sends her photoshopped pictures of him and his pretend boyfriend, Harry. The fact that the man in the pictures is none other than Harry Styles, world famous Gucci model—and recurrent star of Louis’ fantasies—is irrelevant. It’s not like their paths will ever cross… So it comes as somewhat of a surprise when Louis returns home for Christmas and walks into his Nan’s sitting room only to find the real-life Harry Styles happily chatting away with the grey-haired ladies of his Nan’s Crochet Circle.

🍁 No Going Back | 56k | Explicit | This one will likely make any faves list of mine for a long time to come. This was the fic where I felt I found my writing style and really hit my stride. The setting on an isolated island off the bottom of Australia where they were caretakers for a lighthouse just really landed with me. But it wouldn’t have been half the fic it was without being able to work with an amazing collaborator to create the separate travel blog, which was such a treat! 

Where one choice - a left instead of a right, a go instead of a stop, a yes instead of a no - can change the future forever and that sometimes, taking that leap of faith, is worth the risk.

🍁 If You’re Out There (I’ll Find You Somehow) | 56k | Explicit | I know hybrid fics aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but this fic was where I felt like I really started to push the boat out and be braver with my writing. The amount of world building that went into this story was overwhelming at times, but is probably also where I found the passion for it that has continued up until this day. Creating an entirely new society, with many of the same problems we have in our own world, just revealed through a different lens was so rewarding for me. Anyway, I adore this fic and I will love it until the end of time.

History teaches us many things. It allows us to learn from the mistakes and achievements of our past, it colours our present, and guides and influences our future.

As some of you may know, this month will be happening the fanfiction event Multiamory March (hosted by @polyamships), which is similar to Femslash February - but instead of fanfics centered on femslash ships, it's fanfics centered on polyamorous ships. So just like I did last month with Femslash February, I'll be taking prompts through all this month for Multiamory March and posting them in my account on AO3 iammyownsaviour (ant1hero). Anne (Nan/Nanette/Astra) Tudor-Dudley (b.1552): 3rd Duchess Of Pembroke (after her mother and maternal grandmother) and Countess of Exeter by marriage to Matthew Cecil (Son of William Cecil). Succeeded her uncle Prince George as spymaster and advisor to her cousin Turhan (Thomas II).  Mother of eight children - William, Robert, Elizabeth, George, Anne, Turhan, Henry & Mihrimah. 

Henry (Harry) (b. 1557): 2nd Duke of Leicester (after his father). Married to Cecily, daughter of John de Vere, 16th Earl Of Oxford. Father of three - Robert, Mihrimah & Thomas. 

Thomas (Thom) (b, 1557): In charge of the Leicester estates. Married to Halime, Lady Stanley, daughter of the Earl of Stanley and Rabia, Countess of Stanley and father to four daughters - Elizabeth, Maryam, Soraya and Philippa. 

Robert (Robbie) (b. 1559): Lord High Admiral. Envoy to his cousin Maryam’s court in Persia. Travel writer. Father of one daughter Parisa by Tahmina, the daughter of a Persian Merchant with whom he lived with in Persia. 

Mary (Marian/Marie) (b. 1580 - d. 1680): Duchess of Ferrara by her first marriage and Countess of Surrey by her second. Lived through the the English Civil War and the restoration and thus the execution of her several times great nephew King Arthur Jahan and the return of the monarchy under Queen Charlotte Askala. She sheltered many refugees (particularly Jewish families) under the Restorationist Regime and smuggled out many using her contacts in Italy. Mother of six children (four by her first husband Alfonso The Duke of Ferrera - Francesco, Giovanni, Contessina & Lorenzo and two by her second husband Turhan (Earl Of Surrey) - twins Turhan & Mihrimah.
