Okay but this is a legitimately fascinating suggestion that never in a million years would I have picked on my own, but I very much jive with. I love the explanation for how you got here, and the hesitant, withdrawn tone; I can very much see it as a theme as Ehn tries to settle into the role fate’s flung him in.

I gotta get in on this: a theme for Ehn? (mathemagiks, this is just my main blog)

This took quite a lot of pondering. I tried to reflect upon the things that make me think of Ehn, especially things that have a connection with tomes, ink and arcanists. So I kept going back to the Dravanian Hinterlands themes, such as The Silent Regard of Stars and Ink Long Dry.

However I also associate Ehn with the kind of reluctant heroism he demonstrated in The First, so I did peruse a lot of the themes from Shadowbringers as well.

So I settled on From Mud, which (aside from the slightly unfortunate title) combines those themes. It's not bombastic, but it does have some heroic elements and it also has a reticence which I associate with Ehn's personality.

So maybe not obvious (as usual), but it's where I ended up!

I did purchase the piano version of "Imagination" that you're asking about from the Mogstore to put in Amon's Tea and Tomes shop specifically. So, I'd definitely say that is one.

Before this, I was fond of using "Eternal Wind" as his orchestrion roll - that was before the "Order Yet Undeciphered" was available as an orchestrion roll. Now, I use this in his Crystal Lab room in the FC house!

I just finished reading your fic Side Deck today and was looking forward to drowning in more of your fics after work but AO3 is down and idk what to do with myself!! So I reinstalled Tumblr in hopes of satisfying my insatiable hunger!! And then I recognized your username as the fic author!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh

If you're loving the music and you've only just finished 5.0 then you've got some great tracks to come still, personally I think some of sokens best work takes place during the post shb quests he does an amazing job as always

I can't wait to hear them!! So far Amaurot and Amh Araeng's theme is my fave from him, I can't even tell how many feelings I have while listening to those, I tear up 😭

Musical Themes for OCs...

If your character had a theme which played in game when they made an appearance, what might that be like?

Emet-Selch's early appearances used Bedlam's Brink, Graha-Tia in Endwalker gets either a jazzy version of Eternal Wind or Tomorrow and Tomorrow, depending on the situation, and Estinien becomes associated with Dragonsong. Matoya has The Mushroomery and, in cutscenes, Zenos has Meteor.

If I were in a position to set rules, which I'm not really, I'd request themes which are either entirely or mostly instrumental, but let me know what you think.

As for Mimble, his would probably be something like the instrumental version of Sour Times by Miloš Karadaglić, at least for bits involving investigating, plotting and pondering...

I suspect Inxli at @pinxli would have something sweet, possibly even cute, with just slight undertones of immense and sinister power.

Naru at @blucifermain would perhaps need something faintly tragic and dark, with enough percussion to reference the steppes of her homeland?

Fennie at @scholarlostintime might have something lighter, but busy enough to reflect the happy chaos of mixing study and family life.

A'Vett at @avettabendrot might have something playful, with a lot of Ishgardian instruments.

Phoebe at @phoebe-of-ivalice would have something sinuous and darkly intriguing I think.

Amon already has his own themes, but perhaps @spotofmummery feels that Koh needs a theme of her own to reflect her investigations and discoveries?

I could be wrong about all of the above of course. Do let me know!

And there are some I can't begin to imagine, such as @yloiseconeillants, @loldragoon-ffxiv, @firelightmuse or the many characters of @cadrenebula.
