Arguably my first actual Touhou OC despite Rei being posted here first, with her name being adopted from Kaga (notably depicted in Azur Lane as a kitsune albeit with white hair and tails) and the geographically-real Kitakami River.

A nine-tailed kitsune whose age seems to predate the Hieda family, the Hakurei clan, and Gensokyo itself. Nobody knows how long she’s been around for or who she serves, although she has taken up tasks on behalf of other gods such as the Hakurei goddess, Amaterasu, Sukunabikona, and the twin gods of Moriya Shrine. Her point of residence has remained stagnant for so long that the Human Village itself seemed to grow around her over time, which made her one of three (un?)known youkai living there. During the day, she runs a carpentry business out of the lower level of her house, utilizing local equipment and magical foxfire techniques to create new buildings and maintain older homes. Notably, she has two separate lamps that magically ignite on their own when the Hakurei Shrine or the Scarlet Devil Mansion gets destroyed. At night, she takes up alternating shifts with Keine as a nightwatch to look for anything that might be considered a threat to the village. People note that she’s a real sucker for fried tofu and noodles, sometimes served with spicy broth.

The other Sages often refer to her as the Hidden Sage Amongst Humans for her age, willingness to extend wisdom and guidance, and how well she seemed to integrate into a human society to a point where Reimu was impressed with how well she got along with them as a youkai. Others call her the Hidden Sage of Spirit Hammer for her abilities as a fox spirit and her competence in architecture and construction. Her ideal explanation on her philosophy of Gensokyo’s existence depends on four separate but equally significant pillars: the Hakurei shrine maiden who maintains the barrier, the existence of youkai who live and conduct themselves in existence with the longstanding spell card rules, their coexistence with humans (especially those living in the Human Village), and the personal acknowledgement of anyone that can cross the barrier into the outside world.

Ability: Capable of moving things through darkness - Something that could be taken into consideration as a byproduct of her nature as a fox spirit, either as a stealthy hunter from the shadows, or as a mystical spirit responsible for phenomena such as foxfire spotted in groups roaming around forests at night. She often uses this for quick personal movement and for escorting other people and cargo through considerably unlit spaces. Similar to other kitsune, she can shapeshift into a normal human or a nine-tailed fox, manipulate fire, conjure illusions, and sometimes even possess people… although she barely does that at all. Why would she anyway? Haven’t any of you heard of kind kitsune that strike down wicked people before, or those that act as messengers of the gods?

I just wanted to say I really liked your number one fan series. Tim Drake accidentally causing so much chaos and Danny has no idea what he's in the middle of. It's beautiful all your series are great and I can't wait for more.

Hysterectomy was a success!

The anesthesia and pain relief from the surgery definitely has been rough to recover from. Surgery was at 9:30am and it has taken me until 9:30pm just to make this update post! By that I mean that I have been in and out of sleep the entire time since waking up in recovery!

Rika - Forgotten since “Story of Eastern Wonderland”, Rika in this verse was once a junior mechanic for the JSDF before a major internal incident resulted in her name being stripped from all official records of her service and existence, which resulted in her being gapped into Gensokyo. At the turn of the new millennium, she soon sided with Mima and tried to usher in a new era of vengeful spirits with two vehicles of her own: the Flower Tank and the Shrine Tank. The latter of which did not see action until Mima was defeated. Some time after Mima was dispatched, Rika was once again silently spirited away, this time by the Armored Fairy Brigade after Reimu took down her latest creation: Evil Eye Sigma. Since then, she’s incorporated herself back into society in the Human Village while keeping contact with the fairies that gave her a second wind by putting her skills to work in helping them construct machinery that could help Gensokyo solve otherwise impossible situations. She also maintains a decent relationship with the kappa: the only other large faction in all of Gensokyo who are just as technologically savvy as her when it comes to creating machinery and salvaging spare parts. Although often breezed past by Reimu, she seems to know some other forgotten names in Gensokyo’s past prior to the arrival of Remilia Scarlet and the rest of the Scarlet Devil Mansion… something that only Hieda no Akyuu seems to acknowledge. Nobody else seems to know her surname.
