Loving your analysis on the Sonic 3 lore. May I request a deep dive into Agent Stone’s character? I just think he’s neat and had some character development throughout the films.
In talking about Agent Stone, we have to talk about Robotnik's mindset and dynamic in relation to him. Stone doesn't exist in a vacuum, and it's his relationship with Robotnik that helped shape him over the course of the movies.
Gonna get looooong. Again. Because I just can't shut up when I get started.
In the first movie, Stone's simply an assistant, an over achieving second to Robotnik. (Possibly the only agent who could stand to put up with him for so long.) He was a little brown nosey, and portrayed the stereotypical characteristics of a really good assistant that we see in other media, going back as far as Radar from M.A.S.H. He anticipated his boss' needs, and supplied them almost before they were requested.
Robotnik obviously didn't respect him, even if he liked how Stone made his latte. Although I'd be hard pressed to think of anyone Robotnik actually respected or liked, honestly.
But it was curious why Robotnik then created a likeness of Stone to keep him company on the mushroom planet. It could be explained away that Robotnik was used to talking about his plans out loud, used to spouting about how brilliant he was, and what he felt were clever quips and barbs at those he deemed 'lesser' than himself, and needed an audience to do so. Not to mention, having a 'companion' of sorts helped keep him focused. Since Stone had been his latest lackey, the most recent sycophant to hang on his every word, he simply went the most convenient route and used him as a placeholder for this required role.
But was that all there was to it?
Robotnik went to the trouble of carving a face onto the rock. Carrying it with him wherever he went as he traversed the planet, seeking out sustenance and shelter and concocting his Rube Goldbergian machinations to make himself a cup of mushroom coffee. As a man of science, a man who prioritized his own survival and logical nature over useless sentimentality, it's curious he would go to the trouble of not only creating a likeness of Stone, but 'wasting' precious energy and cargo space carrying it around.
Which indicated that Stone's presence had a greater impact on the doctor than he admitted or realized, even to himself.
This is further reinforced by the doctor's manifesto, as referenced in the Sonic 2 pre-quill comic. In that, we learn that Robotnik left this as a sort of instruction manual for Stone to "rebuild [Robotnik's] glory on a mass scale". It guided Stone to "rebuild [himself] as an instrument of pure science", and helped Stone to infiltrate the Mean Bean and rise through the ranks to ultimately own it, and create that as a home base for further operations.
This indicates that Robotnik saw promise in Stone, and trusted Stone more than he'd likely trusted anyone else. Yes, it was all to build a society that Robotnik orchestrated, but the fact that he created the manifesto, with the intention of having Stone read and implement it, showed a greater reliance on Stone than previously indicated.
So Stone is in place, having transformed the Mean Bean into a secret base worthy of the best super villains. And now he waits.
And waits.
And waits.
All the while having to deal with the public.
As anyone who's worked in any kind of customer service job can tell you, dealing with the public day in and day out can drive anyone to thoughts of villainy. That last customer Stone deals with is a prime example of this, with the rude looks and actions, and overall disdain and contempt for service people in general, and possibly him in particular.
He misses the doctor, because he understood the doctor. Robotnik was a big thinker, someone who had higher aspirations and goals than anyone he'd ever met before. He didn't hold a high opinion of the general public, and the more Stone deals with them, the more he understands that mindset. And through the manifesto, Stone likely felt even more connected to Robotnik.
It's possible that Stone's feelings for the doctor didn't start out as a more personal, emotional kind of love. It's possible, and likely, they were simply admiration, because Robotnik was incredibly intelligent, and never let anything stop him from achieving his goal. In Stone's experience, it was possible that the previous people he worked with didn't have that level of dedication. So when he got with Robotnik, it was refreshing to see someone taking his position seriously, and not simply 'doing a job'.
But when Robotnik was bested by the hedgehog, and sent to the mushroom planet, Stone may have felt a little rudderless. Since he was working with Robotnik, and Robotnik himself had been wiped from GUN's database, Stone may have been a casualty of that as well. He was simply a 'lowly agent', so it wasn't that much of a loss to wipe him, too.
Either that, or he intentionally kept himself hidden to avoid being captured and grilled regarding anything else Robotnik may have been doing. Stone strikes me as the kind of man who can blend in with a crowd, and disappear at will.
He knows the system, and knows how to exploit it.
When the doctor returned, Stone was thrilled. Everything he'd worked for up to this point was finally going to be recognized, and he wanted nothing more than to pick up where he and the doctor left off, working together and striving for a better world.
Since Stone had been working at the Mean Bean, a place within Green Hills, he likely saw Sonic on and off. He couldn't blow his cover, no one knew he'd worked with Robotnik, after all, but GOD, seeing that hedgehog would have made the bile rise in his throat. This little alien, this cocky little furball had bested the doctor and sent him away, as though he were in the wrong. And this entire town supported it! And here was this blue rat, living here on Earth as though he belonged.
That fact alone would have pushed Stone even further to the side of Robotnik, thinking that the general public is nothing but "primitive, sport-cheering, social media-scrolling knuckle-draggers". They'd cheered the defeat of a genius, one who was simply trying to capture this unknown alien element that has proven itself capable of destruction on a mass scale, and call him the bad guy. Yes, his methods had been maybe a little unorthodox, but when dealing with such an enemy as an alien with super speed and the ability to create large blasts of energy, you had to think outside the box.
But he was finally back, and he'd brought yet another little spiky furball. And had left with it, leaving Stone behind yet again. But that was okay. He would return. Stone was sure of it.
And he had. But he'd been . . . different. Gotten the Master Emerald, and was . . . changed. And when GUN showed up, Robotnik had put his genius on display, and taken Stone with him this time. It was glorious, but had taken Stone a little bit to catch up. (Thankfully there was a manual!)
Then everything had gone pearshaped again, and those furballs won.
No matter.
Stone was a patient man.
He knew GUN's procedures and it took hardly a moment to infiltrate their ranks. He used their own technology and manpower to find Robotnik amid the rubble, and scurried him away to heal and regroup. One of the things included in the manifesto was blueprints of many machines and creations, and Stone had put Robotnik's drones to work building a giant crab bot.
GUN may have had eyes everywhere, but the ocean was still a mystery in may ways. And it hid may a secret.
But as the doctor healed, he fell into a deep depression. Being bested by the blue rodent not once, but twice, had done a number on his psyche. He'd lost all drive for world domination. His access to any of his drones and bots had been all but severed, and there were only a scant few satellites still in orbit with them aboard. Hardly enough to wage an all out assault, especially with THREE alien vermin on Earth to challenge him.
No. Robotnik was utterly demoralized.
But Stone stayed by his side. He kept Robotnik comfortable, and tried to reignite that spark within him. Tried to suggest heists and schemes to keep his spirits up. But it was to no avail. Stone stepped up, assuming a caretaker role, and offering support whenever he could.
He kept tabs on GUN's comings and goings, and when the board lit up after Shadow was released, he went to investigate. He found those rodents pinned down by drones, but not just any drones, Robotnik drones. This wouldn't do. If anyone was going to use those drones to take out these annoying little furballs, it would be Robotnik himself.
So he killed the drones--with the annoying side effect of saving the rodents--and returned to base. The aliens had followed, but he was keen enough to realize they had a common enemy.
An alliance was formed, and Stone had to admit that it was good to see the doctor more like his old self. Unsurprisingly, Robotnik very quickly narrowed down the source of the hijacked drones, and the group quickly went to investigate.
But then they'd found that old man. And Robotnik had tossed Stone to the curb because suddenly he had found his 'real' family, someone who would love him unconditionally.
And it hurt.
Stone never fooled himself to think he was ever on Robotnik's level. He was nowhere near as smart as the doctor, and couldn't even comprehend how the man thought. But he'd thought they were more than simply villain and henchman. Robotnik trusted Stone, more than he'd ever trusted anyone else. Stone had seen Robotnik at his lowest. At his most vulnerable. And didn't care.
Typical henchmen wouldn't stick around when the boss is defeated. They wouldn't drag his body out from under a felled robot and keep him safe. Help him heal. Fetch him burritos and cheap novels and steal cable to hook him up with episodes of La Ultima Pasion to help him pass the time.
Stone was still following Robotnik's manifesto, even when Robotnik himself had given up. Because he had faith that the doctor would eventually snap back to himself. That he would realize that the world needed him to correct it.
And that someday, maybe, Robotnik would see Stone for being the one person who'd stood by him, from the very beginning.
And he had.
When it was too late.
Robotnik's message to Stone as he managed to stave off the final explosion of the ARK gave Stone that validation he'd been looking for. Told Stone that, even though Robotnik was terrible at expressing himself, he had, in his own way, loved Stone right back. Appreciated Stone. Valued Stone.
And that's all Stone had ever wanted to hear.
And maybe, that gives Stone the encouragement he needs to continue with Robotnik's manifesto.

Wow I saw one (1) stray stargate post on my dash and my anger is flared again about Michael I can't TELL you how angry I get about literally every thing about his story.
Bby boy was THE sweetest most precious INNOCENT bean, and the sheer number of ways that Atlantis did him dirty is unbelievable. astronomical. ridiculous.
If there's ever a storyline that makes me truly dislike our favorite team it's Michael's. If they had just been honest! If they had just not treated him like a monster, effectively making him feel like thats all he could ever be to them! They changed half the cells in his body, wiping his memory and leaving him this puppy dog that just wants friends!! And connection! And a sense of home!! Even after he learned the truth, time and time again he was still just looking for home and community and acceptance (and honesty!!),, and our beloved team treated him, this new innocent creature, like the scum under their boots.
iF i HaD bEeN tHeRe we would've ran away, me and Michael. We'd figure it out. Work out the cure for his hunger without wiping his memory again,, he's smart, the lil fledgling (mad) scientist,, I'd take some cure with us and we'd flee to some planet and I would be his family and his friend and I would give him the love and honesty and compassion he deserved.
Ik nobody asked for this rant I just get SO steamed about it whenever it comes to mind >:(
#the postthat sparked this wasnt even relevant to michael#in fact it was an endearing gifset about rodney whoch warmed my heart#but then i was just thinking about sga and my strongest opinions and thats the biggest one. i get most passionate abt that one#michael deserved better#justice for Michael!#ANYWAY#back to ur regularly scheduled programming#michael the wraith#sga#stargate atlantis#my posts#im making myself mad first thing in the morning what am i doing#michael kenmore#zee speaks

What if Sephiroth tried to escape Shinra?
Shinra finds out about Sephiroth escaping, and he is just running away while Planes, Jets and Helicopters chase after him as well when he tries to run away
Oooooooooooh, JUICY scenario :00000 Yes yes yes yes yes!!!
I think a lot of this would depend on what point in his life Seph tried to escape. If he is just a baby bean, still being trained and exploited and pushed to his limit in the lab, he would prolly be able to get away. Not only would he be smaller and more evasive, but his name/face wouldn’t be imprinted in the planet’s crust yet. He can blend into crowds without drawing attention—and since this is Seph we’re talking about, he prolly had the foresight to take some sort of cloak with him, no matter how young of a brain. The only problems stem from not being able to take care of himself, after being cloistered in the lab and treated like an animal. He doesn’t know real food. He hardly knows how to communicate. He will prolly find himself taking shelter behind a crate, perhaps having made it to Junon. And there, someone would find him, seeing him in his bone-thin state, and take him in <333 Upon asked about his parents, Sephiroth can’t answer, knowing he would be returned to the bad men chasing him. He simply says he has none. It’s a tough, rocky decision, but the savior decided to let him stay, sheltering him and feeding him and restoring his strength. But Sephiroth can’t stay forever. He knows he can’t—knowing the bad men ware behind him and would eventually track him down, and take his caretaker away. Take them away just like how they took Gast away. So Sephiroth eventually leaves, and in this manner he makes his way across the continent, from house to house, traveling all the way across the continent… until he finds himself in a backwater town nestled in the corner of Gaia. There’s something there, he just feels it. Like a gravitational pull in his mind. Like his veins were reins and they were guiding him. Something feels… complete. Full-circle, almost. But he doesn’t stop to ponder over it too much. He just makes his way through, when the village is sound asleep in the heart of night. He makes his way through the mountains, navigating through the labyrinthine paths and all the way to a big, metal building sitting at the summit. He goes inside, making his way up the stairs, stopping before a towering door.
Though he can’t get them open, so he just goes back down.
It’s not the most ideal life, wandering from one corner of the continent to the next. But he gets the see the world. He sees the stars at night, real stars, like the ones in the books Gast used to read to him. So maybe it isn’t so bad, living life on the lamb. Maybe he’ll find Gast somewhere along the way.
~~~
Now! What if Sephiroth was to leave while in SOLDIER???
“Depending on what happens, I may abandon ShinRa.”
So he does. He deserts, before he ever goes to Nibelheim. But this time, unlike his younger self, he ain’t alone—not at all. He’s got the pupper with him. And together they travel across the continent, heading for a place to call home. They both have cloaks draped over them, hidden from the limelight, and Zack has packed plenty of food for them to share—as well as lots of Gil to stock up. The journey is rough, vigorous… but one thing it’s not is lonely. They fight off monsters and troops at every turn, and they do it together, protecting each other with their lives. There is nothing more valuable, precious, and meaningful to them than the other’s safety. They’re everything they have… <3 There are nights when the temperature is hostile, the weather bitter cold, Sephiroth sees Zack shaking on the grass or rocks or against a tree. And what he does is almost instinct: he scoots closer to the boy, wrapping his arms around his treasured friend and bringing him close, cocooning them both in warmth. Sometimes, though, there’s times when Sephiroth thinks they made a mistake, thinking they had all that they could at ShinRa… and the thoughts only get more muddled when he realizes ShinRa is the core of so much pain. So much betrayal. Sometimes he doesn’t know what to do, and he squeezes Zack tighter than usual.
“Seph,” Zack starts one night, when they’re on the outskirts of Corel, feeling his friend’s body tense against his.
Sephiroth weakly hums in acknowledgment.
“…It’s gonna be okay.” He balances out the squeeze. “We’ll find somewhere to stay. I promise. Somewhere where you’ll be safe and sound.” A thread of mirth weaves into voice. “Heck, maybe we can be mercenaries. Keeping the world safe in our own way.”
Sephiroth can’t help but smile. “…Maybe.”
“And no matter what,” Zack continues, burrowing even deeper into his best friend’s cloak, close to his heartbeat. “It’ll be together. Always.”
#sephiroth#ffvii#crisis core#zack fair#asks#ty!!#shinra electric power company#weenie hut jrs#well kinda I mean weenie hut jrs tends to stay in the realm of crisis core “cozy in the base’’ kinda era but I’ll let it stretch!#YES I will spin this into Zack & Sephiroth floofiness wipe that surprised look off your face#(I’m just kidding you can keep it on)
avatar headcannons
bringing them a handmade gift (jewelry/clothing)
jake
jake would immediately struggle with verbally showing his appreciation when receiving a gift
“oh wow… this is great love…nice of you”
but behind closed doors, he treats your gifts like they are the most precious things on the planet
you sometimes catch him studying the details of the gift or (if a small wearable item) carrying it with him to hunts or battles
neytiri
“oh my, you made this for me paskalin?”
invites you to eat a warm meal or stay the night as a gift in return
can’t hide her smile when looking at the gift
when you come to visit her marui she has your gift out on display for everyone to see
neteyam
his whole mood switches completely when receiving a gift from you
hard headed to a soft lil bean
neteyam treats your gifts with the upmost care and love; wanting to know exactly how you made it
“so you made this from what? oh! where did you get those from? show me! i want to make one also!”
lo’ak
“you didn’t make this, no way bro.”
teases you to stop himself from turning into a pool of feelings
will not leave your side the WHOLE day after you give your gift to him
“i’ll wear it though, cause i kinda look good in it y’know?”
flaunts the gift to all of his friends
kiri
always has a random gift for you in return
“i will never take this off i swear! it’s beautiful.”
you both end up taking a long walk together to catch up and tell stories
you take turns braiding each others hair
tuk
screams at the top of her lungs when her eyes catch a glimpse of your gift
breaks the gift within an hour and brings the broken pieces to you with puppy dog eyes
“you can make me another… right? pleaseeee i’ll be more careful”
the next few hours are full of tickle fights and picking up shells off the beach
top five ocs :3
Lou you like to make me suffer???? It would be easier if this was like. A top 50 ocs 😭😭😭 i can't possibly choose only 5 🥲👍 (i'm lying)
Since I have Too Many Characters(TM), I'll narrow it down to choose between the 92 (oof) that already have ther ref sheets drawn :] and this is in no particular order, it's just numbered to look pretty,,,
1. Pangea Coldwell
She's a fairly recent character I created back in 2022. She's Peggy's handler, and a second world war medic (i was in my biggest WWII era at the time). She's a gentle and kind woman, with a big heart but almost no patience at all; usually seen as smart by her peers and fast-to-act, despite whatever's in he way.
Despite her interest in medicine, she's extremely fond of ice-skating, acting, singing and reading - some of her favorite hobbies that don't include her insane dog.
Her power is that of future-sighting, though it's not nowhere near as strong as Horace's. She sees only bits and pieces based on probability, normally of the immediate future (at most, she sees only a few hours ahead, while Horace can see years in advance).
2. Peggy
The absolute sensation. My baby. THE stupidest thing to ever walk this planet. Precious bean. The devil's child, born to put everything in her mouth (and hopefully eat it before dying). The one and only:
Peggy, the Belgian Mallinois is a medical-rescue war dog owned by Pangea. Don't worry, she's dumb even while at work. She has a magical shield against projectiles, so she's a walking barrier (RIP for everyone who tries to hit her with a shoe while she howls and barks)
Things that she eated included (but are not limited to): frogs, fish, insects, rocks, shoes, bones she found where bones shouldn't be, twigs, a dead starfish, baby turtle, tried to eat a crab but failled, a hat, her own leash at least 3 timess, wood, alcoholic beverages (she's fiiiiiine), a mushroom, triessd to eat a snake, etc.
3. Constance Ezebel
The Goddess of Oceans and Curses. I consider her to be one of the strongest Gods among my characters; she's as ancient as water.
Since she was cursed to stay stuck on a Loop in Tortuga, unable to be free at sea again, she takes her anger in those who choose the waters to be their homes. She controls floods and storms, but also when fishing is good and the seas are calm. The fate of all who chose the sea lie within her hands - and those of her se monsters and creatures, who do her biding.
She's a fucking bitch who never does anything for free and usually only accepts stuff if it's paid with a soul or sacrifice,,, she also throws the best parties so she's forgiven :3 and she's half goat so she's cool
4. Stiggy the Stygimoloch
He was just a joke I turned real. He's extremely OP (the indistructable, extremely agresssives and immortal little dinosaur. Who is VERY little and VERY angry) that I turned canon because I love him so much xD
His first appearance was back in 2019 (you see, he's OLD). His backstory is that all the anger in the universe fuels him and he was created by the Gods as a weapon or something. Anyway the only person who he listens to is Miss Kestrel
He's my fave joke character and i'm very glad I made him canon (even if he lives in a forest in the middle of nowhere without ever being interacted with xD)
5. Athena Crow
Death and Freedom Goddess! One of my mains like Pangea and Peggy! Blithe's iresponsible First Mate and Constance's biggest pain in the ass (Athena cursed her to be forever stuck on land and Constance cursed Athena to forever roam the seas. They are bestfriends but also hate each other's guts)
I have SO MANY thoughts about this woman it's unreal,,,,, I love how much of an annoyance she is in general. Alway here to make a fool of herself and have people questioning why the fuck they follow her
Form this I discovered that: of my favorites the only one who is not a complete and utter imbecile is Pangea. Good for her 🤡👍
Random thoughts after Free!-The Final Stroke-
Soooo I watched the rinharu love confession movie again (aka The Final Stroke part 2) and I'm having a lot of feelings and thoughts I need to externalize (not just about rinharu). Since the only friends that might understand what I'm going to say are you, my lovely people on tumblr, here it goes (inserting read more because possible spoilers):
Part 1: supporting characters
Starting with some quick thoughts of things I would love to see being more explored but that I'm more than happy with the little moments we got because they're precious anyway (and it leaves space to our imagination which is amazing too):
Nagisa being the most upbeat person to ever grace this planet This boy is the most happy and adorable and angelic creature on earth! Seeing more about Haru's childhood and his friendships touched unknown places of my heart and a big part of it was because of little Nagisa. He's just so caring and intuitive even as a child and manages to lift up everyone around him it makes me warm (we specially see this by the way nobody can ever be actually annoyed with him giving them nicknames and just being overly affectuous all the time, kid's getting away with murder in this group and I find that amazing). JUST LOOK AT THIS LITTLE BEAN
The girls' friendship Gou, Isuzu and Ayumu are amazing on their own and the moments we have of them together are so refreshing??? I'm not sure I can even describe it but it just makes me really happy to see that the girls interact by themselves without the presence of the guys specially Isuzu and Gou (which I might ship but not really 'cause their friendship being totally platonic is important to me?) (I never said my thoughts would make completely sense so keep reading at your own risk) (but also don't give up on me ༼ つ ಥ_ಥ ༽つ). Either way, I do love the fact the anime is centred around men's swimming and the boys' growth together, but the women here are really important to that growth too (without Gou helping with the club I don't think the story would developt at all) and it's great knowing they have their own things and plans together even if not all of it happens on screen.
Kisumi, Sousuke and Rin's friendship Personally, I love Kisumi! I love how extroverted and cheeky and supportive of his friends he is (even Haru and their relationship is really funny to me but I might talk about it at some other point). The focus here is the fact Kisumi, Rin and Sousuke met in primary school and they might not have really kept in touch during their lives before meeting again later in high school/university but I love how every moment we have of them together we just know they've known each for a long time. I particularly found the last scene of Kisumi and Sousuke in Final Stroke really good because it's not a long scene at all and the others boys (Ikyua, Hiyori, even Kinjou) are present but they just bring me "we were little kids when we met and now we're adults we still manage to ambarass each other with the things we say" vibes. Love it, love them, I'd love to see more of the Sano trio.
And yeah this is longer than I thought it would be already and I got into rinharu fanfic mood so I'll just split my comments and babbling in parts. Next one will be about people's relationship with Haru in the movie probably (this one wasn't really descriptive, but the spoilers might appear more heavily in part 2).
This post is about Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren, in a romantic way, and some updates on my fics and AU about these two. If you don't want to know about this ship, feel free to skip this post ☺
There's a loooong looong time I haven't really been able to keep on writing my fics about my favorite couple! I still can't believe that I haven't finished my most precious one that was supposed to go out on sabezra week 🙁
But, I have nice news 🥺 Two days ago I finally got to get back on my drawings that I had stopped since my depressive episode started. And I'm really glad about how it's going 🥺
I'm still working on how to color my new and old drawings, and the most difficult thing I'm facing is designing Sabine and Ezra in my style. I'm very perfectionist, so it's really frustrating when you can't keep up with the idea you can visualize in your mind and put it in the paper.
I plan on updating my drawings, I still have the sketches without color because whenever I do the coloring I need to make a copy of the original sketch "just in case I don't like the final results", or "to not lose the drawing since I'll never be able to make it equal and it will be forever lost" and stuff. OCD is making me be filled up with coloring testing papers, what a waste 😭
This is going to be Sabine, at the Empire Ball that happens on my fanfic, in her undercover outfit! I already have the reference to the dress, but I'm still working on it!!
Baby Lotie is here too!🥺 And I plan on working on her brother's design these days and make more of her growing up!! Also, coloring! This is my first sketch ☺
So yeah! That's how it's going by now ☺ I love Lotie and Archer so much! Adore my ocs! I'm still thinking if I'll add a third child and maybe even a fourth lol! But if I stick with this idea, I plan to add adopted babies too!! I mean, Sabine's people have this culture of adopting and raising kids to be mandalorians, warriors just like the ones born on the planet, I don't think Bean would be different. Also, Ezra and her will probably just have their little Rebel cell! 😊
I can say that avatar the way of water actually inspired me to think about creating more kids to be raised by these two! And it totally fits their personalities to go around rescuing and adopting kids 😊☺
I got baby Lotie's reference on the pinterest and the one to Sabine's pose and dress is made by looking at the pic and the model I've chosen to be her dress in my fic. I hope you enjoy 🌻🤍
#sorry for the long post#ezra bridger#sabine wren#star wars rebels#ezra and sabine#sabezra#future au#au update
6 years ago today, I saw my cousin Todd for the last time. Todd lived a very rough life, some by choices he made and many by choices made for him as a child and young person. We called him Todd Wad and Toddy Waddy. On that last day, I was able to see him, pray over him, tell him I loved him, asked his forgiveness for not being there for him.
I live with regret over Todd! As a child I felt helpless to do anything to make his life better, I didn't know how to make sure he felt loved and that he mattered on this planet.
I didn't see Todd or his 2 brothers often but when we did, it was usual things like hide and seek. I remember once, we went to the park in Hayward and there was a little zoo type place along the side. We saw an albino peacock...we were amazed. Todd was always silly and goofy. We have a family movie from that day, Todd was supposed to carry the pot for the pork and beans, instead he wore it on his head! Of course, he got in trouble 🤣
As an adult when I saw Toddy, he was a bit shy and reserved, I think embarrassed and shamed by his past, but I loved him. I felt such sorrow!
Todd made SOME changes and some better choices, but it was too late not to suffer the natural consequences of his actions. We talked of Jesus, Todd struggled to believe he could be forgiven and believe Jesus loved him.
On that last day, I received a call saying Todd was going to die within hours. I got in my car and drove to Fresno as fast as I could. I prayed and asked God to allow me to see this damaged soul once more.
I arrived at the hospital, I was told he was unresponsive for almost 24 hours and he only had a couple hours or less to live. Todd seemed lifeless already, no movement, no words, no reactions.
I sat on Toddy's bed beside him. I kissed his head, I rubbed his forehead, I held his hand and I talked. The Dr and nurses said, he can't hear you. I believed differently. I told him I loved him, I talked about good memories from our childhood.
I asked his forgiveness for not being able to help him and I told him Jesus loved him and that it was ok for him to let go, to stop suffering and go to be with Jesus.
As I began to speak of forgiveness and Jesus, Toddy moved his arms and legs, a year formed in the corner of his right eye. He could hear me! His body might have given out but his spirit was alive!
After a few hours,I kissed my cousin's face, told him he was precious and loved. I left the hospital. That was the last time I saw Todd. I know that Jesus holds Todd in his comfort and love.
I share this story because I believe most families have a Todd. I share to evoke compassion and to stand against thinking because that wasn't your path that you are above or better than someone whose life wasn't as clean as yours! I say this to that, the Bible says
ALL have sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
The other reason I share is to remind each of us that love is free, compassion is free, wisdom is free.
I love you all!
Agatha All Along deep dive: episode 7 part 5
(Wandavision entries: [1][2][3])
(AAA entries: ep1 [1][2][3][4] ep2 [1][2][3][4] ep3 [1][2][3] ep4 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][+1] ep5 [1][2][3][4][5] ep6 [1][2][3] ep7 [1][2][3][4][5][6] ep8 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] ep9 [1][2][3][4][5][6])
(Sorry for the little delay in posting, and sorry especially to @yodladi-yodlada and @redmagerefia for disrupting their daily routines!)
@onceuponalegendbg has pointed out something wonderful: "I love the way these lines are said. “Death ‘comes for’ us all.” “You say that like it’s a ‘comfort’.” …. “When will it ‘come for’ me?” But the way Lilia says ‘come for’ sounds like ‘comfort’ so it almost sounds like “When will Death ‘comfort’ me?” When will this knowledge be something that doesn’t scare me? When will I reach that level of acceptance, she seems to ask."
Maestra doesn't answer, she doesn't need to. Lilia already has all the answers. Look how the camera angle moves: I was falling in the past, I will fall in the future. Time is relative to her, she can jump from past to future with the same easiness the camera swipes from right to left. But Ellie, you might ask, shouldn't it be from left to right? It is, from Lilia's POV. Which is what this has always been about.
This was never a story about a group of witches dying senselessly on a fake Road, because all death is senseless anyway. Facing Death, be it your own or a loved one's, is an impossible conundrum, and I know plenty of very smart people who saw life as essentially meaningless because of it. That is something each of us has to decide on their own, unfortunately. Jac Schaeffer goes for the perhaps relative, perhaps naive optimism: agency. You ought to give meaning to your own existence, because the universe sure ain't gonna. Lilia, you are about to die, and there is nothing you can do to change that fact. What do you choose to do with the time you have left?
Lilia listens, even though she knew her Maestra's words all along. She turns to her left, following the camera's movement from a moment ago, and in doing so she deliberately looks at Jen. She is Traveling alright.
Jen has just fallen through quicksand. Meanwhile Lilia has been all over the timeline already.
Yes you can! You're doing amazing! She looks so proud of herself.
They're holding handsssss. why is Lilia literally the cutest most precious little bean on the planet
the random ass subway car! no it's not the way out, billy just literally dug a hole in the ground and found the abandoned subway system sharon mentioned all those episodes ago.
No wonder jen was pissed, she got this wonderfully vulnerable version of Lilia, only for her to change and forget a moment later.
You are my sister in the craft is just... it's so powerful. It's gripping my heart in such a strong, warm vice. She's claiming her identity and claiming her family.
Look how affected Jen is. she has spent the last hundred years rejecting her own people because she felt she couldn't belong anymore now that she's bound and, as always, being angry at them was easier than being sad. and here comes lilia who says, you are my family, you are my sister, you are an invaluable member of our community, and I need you at my side.
I know I'm repeating myself, but people do really need a support system. even if ultimately saving ourselves from the mess that is life is a personal effort - that effort becomes impossible if you don't have people in your life supporting you. what happened to jen almost destroyed her. and she still could fall, we don't know the rest of her story yet, but meeting alice, meeting lilia, and yes, even meeting agatha made a difference.
jen chooses to follow her, because lilia has chosen to be vulnerable, and it hasn't made her weaker. it has given her control. she turns around and returns to where she left the tarot trial, which is exactly where she wants to be
I WAS READING FOR THE WRONG PERSON. I AM THE TRAVELER.
She sits down, her back so straight. She is in perfect control, she has the power. Billy's Road might have killed her, but this isn't about what Billy did, it's about Lilia and Lilia's life and agency. And she is RECLAIMING it.
and now that Lilia is no longer afraid to unleash her frankly INCREDIBLE powers, she jumps. billy has said that tarots are about intuition and interpretation, but lilia isn't guessing, she is seeking those specific moments when the meaning of a card goes from possibility to truth. Lilia is NOT remembering here, she is deliberately, physically and effortlessly finding and visiting those moments of total clarity.
“The Queen of Cups.” empathetic, intuitive, inner voice to be trusted. Because despite her magical powers, lilia's greatest power is still empathy, and her strength was inside her along. just like the lion in The Wizard of Oz.
Lilia is now completely in the zone. the second card is What's Missing, the reason for her quest: what was lilia seeking, what did she need to find at the end of the Road? And the answer is of course, a coven, a community, friends she could share and laugh and cry and sing with. she goes back to episode two and to the list of names she gave agatha, and finds her answer within them.
The Path Behind, the wounds suffered and lessons learned, is Alice and all the people lilia lost
The Path Ahead, a place for growth and discovery, is jen. because jen survives the Road and her story is yet to be written, think of all the good she could do for witchfolk once she recovers her powers and self-esteem!
Obstacles: Agatha. but not agatha's cruelty, agatha doesn't hurt others because she's evil, but because of her all-consuming, devastating grief. Christ that picture of her with the three swords behind DESTROYS me every time, it's simply too much.
You can read this card as metaphor too: agatha is an obstacle to lilia, but also lilia's own grief and heartbreak have been the obstacle that kept her caged, alone and afraid. it's what we all have in common. and that's how shared grief can become a comfort and a bond: how can you not feel infinite sympathy for a pain that mirrors your own?
Billy is the Windfall. god, I cannot with this show. billy has the potential to be the Tower, to bring doom. but he is not the Tower, he is the Tower Reversed! he is a miracle, and lilia sees it! because lilia's powers, agatha's powers, wanda's powers, they all spelled doom, they were all self-fulfilled prophecies. and by god we are not letting billy go down the same route! potential is not destiny! we are accepting this boy in our family and we'll protect him and nurture him and we won't let him suffer the way we did. we are BREAKING that cycle. he was born a Tower? fine, we are gonna FLIP that motherfucking card!
hey guys, hey guys, did you know? you have to play with the cards life dealt you. and that means you can flip them too.
up to a certain point. because the last card, the Destination is...
In the heart of the galaxy, where stars birthed and collapsed in a symphony of light and energy, there existed a creature unlike any other. This being, known as Astro, was a cosmic Shiba Inu, born from the remnants of a supernova and infused with the essence of the universe itself. Astro roamed the vast expanse of space, his fur shimmering with the colors of distant nebulae and his eyes reflecting the wisdom of ancient stars.
One fateful day, while navigating the ethereal pathways of the cosmos, Astro sensed a disturbance. His acute senses, attuned to the vibrations of the universe, detected a cry for help emanating from a distant blue planet—Earth. More specifically, the signal originated from a small yet historically rich nation known as the Czech Republic.
Astro directed his flight towards Earth, entering its atmosphere in a blaze of light. He descended upon Prague, the capital city, where the signal was strongest. The city, with its gothic architecture and cobblestone streets, was a stark contrast to the boundless beauty of space. Yet, it held a charm and a mystery that piqued Astro's curiosity.
Upon landing, Astro was greeted by a group of scientists and astronomers who had been monitoring his approach. Leading the group was Dr. Eliska Novak, a renowned astrophysicist who had dedicated her life to studying cosmic phenomena. She had detected Astro's presence in the galaxy and had sent out a distress signal, hoping to make contact with the celestial being.
"Welcome to Earth, Astro," Dr. Novak greeted with a mix of awe and excitement. "We have much to discuss."
Astro communicated telepathically, his thoughts echoing in the minds of the humans around him. "I sensed your call. How can I assist you?"
Dr. Novak explained that the Czech Republic was facing an unprecedented crisis. A rogue black hole had been detected on a collision course with Earth. Its gravitational pull was already causing anomalies, threatening to disrupt the planet's orbit and bring about catastrophic consequences. The world's leading scientists were at a loss, unable to devise a solution to avert the impending disaster.
Astro listened intently, his cosmic energy pulsing with determination. "I can help," he declared. "But I will need access to your most advanced technology and the cooperation of your brightest minds."
Over the next few days, Astro worked tirelessly with the Czech scientists. Using his cosmic powers, he stabilized the anomalies caused by the black hole, buying them precious time. Dr. Novak and her team developed a plan to create a gravitational counter-field, a concept theorized but never before implemented.
Astro infused the technology with his cosmic energy, amplifying its capabilities. As the black hole approached, the device was activated, creating a powerful field that pushed against the black hole's gravitational pull. The tension was immense, and the strain on Astro was visible, his normally radiant fur dimming under the effort.
With a final surge of energy, Astro and the device succeeded. The black hole was diverted, its path altered away from Earth. The skies above Prague lit up with a dazzling display of colors as the danger passed. The people of the Czech Republic, and indeed the world, rejoiced.
Exhausted but triumphant, Astro looked at Dr. Novak. "Your world is safe," he conveyed. "But remember, the universe is vast and full of wonders. Cherish and protect your planet."
Dr. Novak nodded, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Astro. You have given us hope and a new appreciation for the cosmos."
With his mission complete, Astro ascended back into the heavens, returning to the stars. The story of the cosmic Shiba Inu and the scientists of the Czech Republic became a legend, a tale of cooperation and courage in the face of cosmic peril. And as the people of Earth looked up at the night sky, they knew that somewhere out there, Astro continued his journey, a guardian of the galaxy, watching over them.
