No but being in Yuu's shoes and being in a relationship with Eric can be fun to torture Vil, of course depending on the relationship between you and Vil. Vil is your ex-boyfriend who treated you badly? Fuck his dad. Vil is being a little shit to you and your friends? Fuck his dad. Vil is your enemy? I think you know what to do. He'll hate you more. Also, you can break his heart if he has a crush on you. It seems like all those scenarios are the same but they have those little differences that make them all unique in their own way. Well, the only thing that remains is that Vil has to put up with seeing you at school while you're with his dad.

Also, can we have a sugar daddy fight? I think Eric has the potential to be one of the best sugar daddies. A great rival would be Crewel. He seems to appreciate Vil too.

Now that I’ve checked out enough of all three newly-ish cdramas: Fangs of Fortune, Love Game in Eastern Fantasy and The Story of Pearl Girl, the results are kinda surprising.

I am, as you can tell, OBSESSED with Fangs. That is unexpected because while the trailer was gorgeous I couldn’t really figure out much that would make me obsessed from the summary and all the actors except TJR were either ones I am indifferent to or downright dislike normally. And now I love them all. I don’t know what’s the biggest surprise for me - Cheng Xiao, until now literally my least favorite actress from any country’s dramas, giving a good performance that makes me invested or HMH who I remember thinking of as so handsome but so bland but is now just utterly on fire and has entered Dylan in CLJ “you had THAT in you? How?” territory. And the story and the themes and the visuals! I haven’t seen a drama catering this hard to my personal narrative and character preferences since Novoland Eagle Flag.

Eastern Fantasy is even more of a surprise tbh. At least I was interested in peeking at Fangs for the visuals. I almost didn’t even check out Eastern Fantasy at all. I enjoyed the novel but that is never a guarantee of anything with adaptations (and it was never a major love of a book anyway), I like Esther a lot but not enough to watch stuff just for her. DYX is someone I have a soft spot for but not a single drama of his worked for me in years to the extent I kept joking he’s cursed. I hated all the trailers and posters - they looked kooky and not in a good way. Plus my track record of liking it when shows try to go for funny is abysmal and the whole thing seemed targeted to an audience that is so young they are still in middle school.

Only checked out because I had some time and omg it’s funny and clever and darling and the performances and characters and dynamics and the vibe are all on point (and so is potential for angst.) Soooooo good!

And now Pearl. It was by far my most anticipated of the three - trailer was cool, love the leads (and the fact that they reunited!) etc etc. But now? It’s a solid enough drama and enjoyable but it’s my least favorite of the three. A lot of it is genre viewer mismatch - I don’t really like “woman makes her name in trade with a side of hot scary man who eventually helps her” (see 2022 A Dream of Splendor - a well acted big hit that left me utterly cold.)

I just don’t care about the mechanics of trade or Horatio Alger stories even if Horatio in this case is a beautiful young woman. ZLS starts talking about cuts of profit for selling jewel waste products and my brain shuts down. It doesn’t help that while I find LYN character realistic for who he’s supposed to be, their dynamics so far do not make me ship them in the least and in fact I want her to lightly stab him (I genuinely don’t see how it will switch to her liking him.) It’s the same issue I had with Dream as well - just as here the chemistry was great but it was not a shippy dynamic that does it for me.

Oh well, that’s why it’s fun to watch new things, you never know…

This should not have taken me nearly this long, but it's finally finished! Behold, the redundant relationship chart for my high school au fanfic!

I wasn't sure how to go about this at first, since it's pretty much just a big friend group, but I tried to touch on the specifics. They all interact with one another slightly differently depending on who it is, so I'll try to elaborate a little.

Red and Green are twins, so the usual sibling banter is common. They relentlessly tease each other about their respective crushes, but only because they trust the other not to go too far with it. As the "older twin" (by about seven minutes), Green feels the need to protect Red, who just rolls with it since he likes the attention.

Green and Blue have known each other since middle school, and while they didn't always get along, their rivalry eventually gave way to mutual respect. They're still very competitive, but they've got each other's backs when the going gets tough. Playful teasing is pretty much how they communicate (it only occasionally results in Blue angrily chasing Green around the school, big step up from the occasional fistfight).

Red and Vio, similar to Green and Blue, have known each other since middle school, and Red was the one to give Vio his nickname. The two are close, to the point where casual contact is more expected than not (it's a fairly common occurrence for Red to run up and jump onto Vio's back, with Vio simply adjusting his stance to support Red as the only acknowledgment it happened). Platonic soulmates.

Red and Blue have had crushes on each other for a while. Everyone can see it, except them apparently. They dance around the subject (i.e. flail) out of fear it'll change the dynamic of their group too much, but they're already so soft with each other that it wouldn't make a difference. Many nights are spent with only the two of them in vc, talking aimlessly just to hear the other's voice.

Green and Vio met through Red back in middle school, and while they aren't the closest, they do spend a lot of time together while waiting on Red and Blue to stop lowkey flirting (their version of it, anyway). Green has made it his mission to find Vio his own fashion style, but it's been an uphill battle so far on account of Vio not having much preference for anything. Vio, meanwhile, thinks it's funny to rile Green up, so he goes along with it despite not caring either way.

Blue and Vio, while not seeming very close, do talk way more than the average outsider might think. Blue is the only one in the group so far who knows almost the full extent of Vio's homelife, and while he can't do much to change it, he does his best to offer support (though he will absolutely not admit to it). These two can and will deck someone in the face if they mess with Red (or Green, but Green will defend himself at least).

Zelda and Green are the potential power couple just waiting to happen. They were always loosely aware of each other throughout the school years, but it wasn't until Vio (reluctantly) introduced them that they started to hang out. Green greatly admires her leadership skills and fashion knowledge (they'll talk for hours about it), meanwhile, Zelda finds his charisma and dorky humor charming.

Zelda and Red aren't incredibly close, but still friendly with each other. They're in drama club together and mostly talk about related club work, or Green, usually both. There isn't much to say about their relationship other than they get along and Red is excited at the idea of Zelda dating Green.

Interestingly enough, Zelda and Blue have a dynamic similar to the one Blue has with Green. They're gaming buddies, and very competitive with each other. This bleeds into their casual interactions at school, which always throws some people for a loop since Zelda's gaming hobby is very much a secret. The no-context smack talk is kinda funny to be fair.

Zelda and Vio do not get along. They grew up together because their families were friends, but both view their childhoods with one another very differently. While not outright hostile to each other, Vio tends to avoid Zelda and go silent if she's brought into a conversation. Zelda, on the other hand, would like to talk to "Violet", but his frequent avoidance of her does tend to make her a little bitter.

Zelda and Shadow have an odd friendship. What had started as an attempt to make peace, quickly turned into an unbreakable bond of solidarity. The two are gossip buddies, as well as theater kids, so you can imagine how that goes. They balance each other out in surprising ways (Zelda reins in Shadow's more over-the-top theatrics, while Shadow pushes Zelda to be more daring). They also game with Blue on the weekends, it's chaotic.

Shadow and Vio are a mess. Neither of them understands normal relationships and that's probably the only reason it's working out so well for them. Due to Shadow's history of bullying the group, Vio initially does not want anything to do with him, but once they get over that hurdle, depending on how you look at it, it's all downhill from here. Stalker x Stalker. They're obsessed.

Shadow and Blue, as mentioned before, are also gaming buddies. They usually don't interact much unless Zelda is with them, but they get along fine once they bury the hatchet. Blue is still a little wary of Shadow's intentions in the group, but he can always just punch Shadow again if he steps out of line.

Shadow and Red (who I forgot to draw a line between) get along great despite their history. They're both in theater (not the club) and match each other's energies fairly well. They both "fight" over Vio if he's around, but this usually just results in them hanging off of Vio while trying to have a normal conversation. A surprisingly chaotic duo.

Shadow and Green, much like Red and Zelda, aren't super close but can tolerate each other. None of their hobbies or interests really align, though they might team up to find Vio a fashion style someday. When left alone together they talk about cats. Specifically, Nail Polish, the weird orange cat Red found in a dumpster eating nail polish.

And that about wraps it up. I didn't mean for this post to be this long, but hopefully, if anyone reads it, it'll be at least a little entertaining. I'm excited to work more on this au, even if it takes me forever. ^^

Figuring out everyone's dynamics beyond just "character A knows character B" has been really fun! I look forward to exploring this more hehehe.

Tales from a Not So Bratty Little Sister

I know, I know. I admitted in my last post that I have too aged out of the series to enjoy it. But I still keep coming back because I have to know how it ends. . .

I have a feeling it might be coming soon, but Russell is certainly stretching it out.

Russell said in an interview that she always wanted to do a book in the series from Brianna’s POV and as this is the fifteenth (!!!) anniversary, it was time to do it.

Like I said numerous times before, I think she is squeezing this as long as they can. This diary takes place over the course of one day plus the morning after as Nikki gets ready for the day before high school. Not that she ever says “high school” but she does say she’s ready to put all the middle school drama behind her so I’m taking that Russell hasn’t retconned Nikki from eight grader to seventh grader or something, thankfully.

Actually, it starts out promising. Nikki notes that her friends have already gotten started on new extracurriculars with Zoey working on a music-youtube channel and Chloe making friends with the drama girls, branching out and all that. I wish Russell had worked this in the previous books so it doesn’t seem to be coming so out of the left field but still, I like the idea of them branching out. Brandon is working at Fuzzy Friends as usual.

It makes Nikki feel a little insecure to see them getting ready for the next phase of their lives while she is freaking out over her first day of school outfit just like last years. So she resolves to be a more responsible friend and get her butt into maturity.

Unfortunately, the book doesn’t go deep into that. Nikki freaks out at the slightest problem and takes Brandon saying he has a job at Fuzzy Friends as evidence of being friend-zoned. Girl, he has kissed you TWICE!!! He exhibited jealousy when another guy was interested! You were his date on Valentine’s Day! You are not in the friend-zone anymore!

But there is a nice section where in picking up headphones for Zoey, she selflessly gives up her chance to shove through a mob to get limited edition headphones in order to help a frazzled employee not get trampled. It reminds the reader that at heart, Nikki is a kind person when it comes down to it. Although she has her selfish and melodramatic moments.

But that’s it because her diary ends up in the hands of Brianna when she is struck down with appendicitus. You could really tell that this is a filler book as Russell has Brianna make copies of Nikki’s illustrations from previous books with Brianna’s commentary on them. In my most optimistic opinion, she was using it as a nostalgia, looking back at funny sister moments for the 15th anniversary.

Still, there’s not much new to be gleaned from this and the moral of appreciating sisters was already done in book 8 (and better I might add).

Also, I thought this might be the one book where Mackenzie doesn’t make an appearence, signifying that Nikki is moving on to high school and won’t have to deal with her again. . . and she pops up in the last ten pages for a two page cameo. It was so. . so unnecessary that I feel like Russell is contractually obligated to shove her in. The excuse of her visiting Nikki in the hospital was implausible within the universe and without. It was kinda aggravating. She’s less nemesis and more of a pest at this point.

If you had to include Brianna, why not have Brianna be at Mackenzie’s house because she’s still friends with Mackenzie’s little sister? Easy and will feel part of a plot.

And well, that’s it. This could have been filled with potential with Nikki veering at the edge of high school and deciding to take stock of her diaries to become a more mature person who communicates with others and has self-esteem not to jump to the worst conclusions. Maybe go back to her art skills like when she won the eight grade art contest, return to her roots. But nope.

I don’t know why I have so much investment. Maybe it’s because I still want answers about Brandon like his absent parents, his French background. . . I mean I can guess that they died when he was young but like I want to hear it from him and have a meaningful moment between Nikki and Brandon where they make it official. It was such a mystery and it hasn’t been mentioned since book 5 I think? Completely dropped. Same with Theo and Marcus coupling with Zoey and Chloe. And the newspaper. And so on.

1. Alice in Borderland Season 1 (1/8 on Netflix, no bl)

One day I was in the mood for some dystopian and uncomfortable watch and here we are. After that day I needed something cuddly and colorful, so I guess it will take me a while to finish it. But the first episode was really good.

2. Be My Favorite (6/12 on Youtube)

At first glance, Kawi is a loser. At second glance, a crazy loser. When he tries to travel back in time to change his life, it doesn't necessarily go in the direction he had in mind or Pisaeng, the later husband of Kawi's crush. But this series is so much more. Kawi is like our inner voice of insecurities and inadequacies. And it is like healing a little bit watching him gaining a little bit more self confidence and self love.

3. Dinosaur Love (1/10 on iQiyi)

This is a hellfire of a show. It is bad. But I had a blast. I can't tell you what it is about, because I have no clue! All I know is I love it. It is so bad, that it is good!

4. His Man Season 2 (5/14 on Gaga)

The korean dating show is back! I loved the first season and the second just started really good. I guess there will be some drama in those 14 episodes, but the first dates were so cute! I am looking forward to next week!

5. King the Land (3/16 on Netflix, no bl)

You know the feeling, you wake up in the morning and you're craving some good korean romance drama? That happend t me today and so I just thought give this a shot and it is good. Cheon Sa Rang works as a concierge at the King Of The Land Hotel and there she always has to wear a smile, fake or real doesn't matter. She meets the new boss in town Gu Won, who just can't stand fake smiles, but I guess her beautiful and real smile will make him fall head over heals.

6. La Pluie (9/12 on iQiyi)

Saengtai goes deaf whenever it rains. The only voice he can hear in his head is his soulmate's one. But he refuses to answer it, because Tai doesn't believe in things like love or soulmates. That is until he meets his soulmate for the first time and his soulmate is a such a cutie, that Saengtai cannot longer fight against his destiny. It is surprisingly good and funny and charming.

7. See you in my 19th life (3/12 on Netflix, no bl)

It was a suggestion, sounded interesting, so I watched it and I really enjoyed the first episode. Ban Ji Eum is able to remember her past lifes. Her 18th one ended way too soon and in her now 19th life she wants to meet the one person again, who brought her joy again after 100 years of being tired of reincarnating and remembering all the pasts lifes. A very interesting concept and I like how bold and confident Ban Ji Eum is.

8. Shigatsu no Tokyo wa... (3/8 on Gaga or Viki)

Kazuma and Ren were close friends during middle school and now meet again years later after their ways parted. We get some cute flashbacks and much cuter interactions in the here and now. I really enjoyed this first episode. It has potential, I like the hair tousle.

9. Sparks Camp (5/8 on Youtube)

Philippines's first gay dating reality show! And it's giving you everything you're looking for! Well at least a bunch of cute and cringy moments! And I am sold!

10. Step by Step (10/12 on Gaga)

Employee meets boss without knowing who he has met and crushes hard on him, just tells him what everyone thinks about the new boss and is just adorably clumsy infront of him. I adore the friend group! I hope we get to see them support Pat a lot. But there is more...An ex who is not quite out of the window yet, a toxic work enviorment, with some really sweet rays of hope in between, a second couple I lost my heart for (again the side dish...), which might be a little bit problematic, but who cares? Well, at least not me.

11. The Luminous Solution (5/6 on Gaga)

Every wish comes with a price...We meet Thana and Patis, a couple of over a decade. While Thana tries to holds closeness to his partner, Patis is working non stop at the hospital and doesn't see that his partner is suffering. And now Thana lost his job and his mother is in depth. One evening he enters a very special café, which only shows itsself to people who are in deep need for a wish. But can you pay the price? As a second couple we meet Mai and Ryou, who become enemies on the first day of school and who will have some obstacles to overcome to be together. And there is Ryous best friend, I guess he has a huge crush on Ryou. How they will end up in the café? I don't know, but I am intrigued.

12. Tie The Not (2/8 on Youtube)

And another Pinoy BL from Onix Films. It is a miniseries and it shows. The plot is a little bit rushed and not really round.

Our Skyy 2 (16/16 on Youtube)

This one is telling what happens after the happily ever after of our favorites of the last two years. We have some supernatural stuff, some boring stuff, some cringe stuff and some fluff stuff. Over all I wasn't that excited. I really liked My School President and the last part of A Tale of thousand stars. Besindes that it was not that special to me. I give it a 6 out of 10 (mostly because all the PhuTian fluffiness we've got)

2. Bokura no Shokutaku (9/10 on Gaga)

This is a comfort watch. Hozumi Yutaka likes to cook and is good at it, but he can't eat infront of other people. Meeting Tane and his older brother Ueda Minoru his life seems to change and he may finally have found what his body and soul were longing for. It had some tense moments, but in the end it felt really comforting and calming. It wasn't that hectic or full of drama. It is a very good adaptation and I liked it very much. A good 9 out of 10 for me.

3. A Business Proposal (10/10 on Netflix - no bl)

Can a fake relationship with a lots of lies from all sides end up being true love? Yes it can I and I loved their journey. I loved to see how Kang Tae slowly fell for Shin Ha Ri and how he tried to get her to date him for real. This was just a cute watch and it made my sunday just very comfy and I had a lot of fun. Totally binge watch material. For me a 8,5 out of 10.

4. My Story (9/10 on Youtube)

Now I have a problem. I really liked the side dish couple, Zeke and Fifth, but the main story around Sky and Win was just a little bit boring, especially at the beginning. And I didn't like the whole drunk kissing and just forgetting everything the next morning. With only Zeke and Fifth this would be a better rating, but with everything else around I have to remove some points... I give it a 6,5 out of 10. Now I have a problem. I really liked the side dish couple, Zeke and Fifth, but the main story around Sky and Win was just a little bit boring, especially at the beginning. And I didn't like the whole drunk kissing and just forgetting everything the next morning. 5. Hometown Cha Cha Cha (16/16 on Netflix)

This is such a wholesome and feel-good series. Even though it dealt with some really tough trauma and I was bawling my eyes out, I loved it and it felt overall good. Sometimes it was a little bit too sweet and especially the later episodes just didn't fit with the beginning of the series. I am very happy, I gave this one a try! Overall 8,5 out of 10 for me.

6. Love Tractor (6/8 on iQiyi)

City boy meets Farm boy who is a little innocent puppy and city boy can't stop falling in love with this pure soul. I read the manhwa and I loved it and this adaptation cut a LOT out, but it was so cute and good and lovable! The characters really fit the original source. Almost perfect. And we get a really good kiss! So extra points here. For me a 9,5 out of 10.

7. Zenra Meshi aka Naked Dining (12/12 on Gaga)

Not gonna lie, this one was exhausting for big parts. I guess it is about fate and two people meant to be together, and that would have been really nce and sweet, but there was so much bad drama. In my opinion the girl new that Souta had a Crush on Mahiro. Her trying to date him anyways and getting annoyed that he spends so much time with the other person was just...annyoing. And the communication and misunderstandings...It could have been something better in my opinion. And there was definitely too little naked dining. It is a 6,5 out of 10 for me.

1. Restart After Come Back Home (on Gaga)

This one is about finding your place in life, accepting others and yourself for the way they are and about hope and forgiveness, family and love. It is a wholesome and beautiful movie. I must admit, first I didn't like both of our mains, but I guess that is part of the plan, because as they grow during the movie I became more and more fond of them. I give it a 9 out of 10.

It is always good to come back here. I like how both of the leads fall for eah other. To see the struggle Qiu Zi Xuan has with allowing himself to have feelings for Xia Yu Hao. And how sure Xia Yu Hao is about his own feelings. And it has volleyball. Not that I am a big fan, but I like sport bls.

2. Sweet Curse

A korean short film about a friend who is jealouse of the popular guy and summons a ghost to hunt said friend. But the friend falls in love with the ghost and the ghost with him and we get a weird and unconventional, but cute and steamy lovestory. Well, in Strongberry we trust.

Bob's Burgers: The Tina Table: The Tables Have Tina-ed (15x01)

Fun to be back to school with the kids! This was a great episode to open up our fifteenth season.

Cons:

This isn't really a flaw of this episode, but a general note... one of the things I love about Louise is that she's an agent of chaos but she always comes through when it matters. I've noticed a trend recently of her being a little more... responsible, end of the day, than you would expect? It was interesting to me that her role in this episode was to convince Tina to do the right thing, even though the wrong thing was causing so much chaos and making people act so wacky. You'd think maybe Louise would be into that, at least at first? And then maybe have a turn a little later? But she immediately was against all these shenanigans, which I thought was a little odd.

Pros:

I liked the subplot back at the restaurant a lot - basically, Teddy has been having Bob and Linda recount the plots of various horror movies to him, since he hasn't seen any of them. Linda ran out of movies to describe and just starts making up fake plots to movies she hasn't seen. Bob gets involved one day against his will, but then finds that he actually really loves the creative outlet! They get found out when Teddy actually goes to see one of the movies they've been describing. He's barely mad, though - turns out, he thinks their versions of the stories are better than the real thing!

I liked that this was a Bob vs. Linda competitive thing; often the joke is that Bob is a pushover or just has to stand there while Linda is a chaos agent, but here we see them both getting invested and going a bit wild about it.

The main plot features Tina's morning news show segment at school, and some drama with Mr. Frond's new video game diagnosis tool. Tina gets a lot of positive feedback about featuring the game, and when it turns out it's all a fraud, Tina is tempted to keep up the ruse for the sake of the positive attention on the show. I really liked Mr. Frond conspiring with the kids for his own ends, it's always funny to see his supposed scruples fail in the face of potential personal gain. The twist that it was Henry Haber making the game for him in secret was also pretty funny.

This show exists in this kind of timeless zone where these kids have all been the same age for the past fifteen years, but one thing I loved about how this episode played with that specifically is that Mr. Frond's game is like... extremely archaic, 2-bit graphics, the most basic shit imaginable, and the idea of children this age in 2024 being impressed by something like that when they have a bajillion cooler things on their smartphones that most of them probably would own by middle school if not sooner... I don't know. It just made me smile. This show plays fast and loose with the anachronisms and I like that.

Also, it was fun to see Tina getting a clean win in this episode. She's often the sad sack, but this time, she got success on her show, and then even when she chose to do the right thing, she still won in the end, as it's decided that her show will stay on the air! Her bad-ass moment where she tricks Mr. Frond on the air was such a triumph! She even got some extra time with Jimmy Jr. being open and emotional with her, during the chaos of everyone trying to live up to their game-assigned personalities.

Has some. Very mixed feelings about her new life. Mainly guilt because she loves it (and also joy because she loves it).

On a surprisingly related note, how she got that scar! So one night after winning a big case, she ends up tripping on the courthouse steps and busting her lip open. Standard bad luck. She lives close enough to the courthouse that she walks to and from work, but not nearly close enough to the hospital to walk there, and she figures, based on how much blood there is, that she'll need stitches. Also ambulances are expensive so that's out. Thankfully, there's an off duty detective with a heart of gold that happens to be driving by just as she falls. Serendipitous to say the least. She asks if he can drive her to the hospital, he says yes, they exchange names but it's September 2077 so neither of them will end up remembering. Before they party ways she invites him and his fiancée to her Halloween party that will totally happen and not get cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Became a public defense lawyer (the most overworked and underpaid lawyers) because she genuine believes in helping the less fortunate in anyway she can, even though being a corpo lawyer would net her so much money. Fights for equal rights at every chance she gets and brings this energy to the Commonwealth Wasteland post war.

Is the fiercest defender of marriage equality and the necessary rights relating to it because she believes it's the right thing to do (she also understands the pain of being married to someone you don't actually love).

Speaking of her husband, she only married him in order to not drown in debt while attending law school (he wanted the extra military benefits and also the status symbol of having a wife). They do not get divorced because Societal Convention. This is why she practices law with her maiden name. (Call her Connie Smith and she might actually kill you.)

Loves building robots. Its her favorite pastime honestly. Given that, it's funny that she hates power armor as much as she does (and yet she has a collection)

her other besties are Preston and Ada and she doesn't like Piper. Everyone else she vaguely knows but not nearly as well as Nick. Oh! She thinks Ellie is really nice.

And some fun facts about her creation:

She's named after Conner from DBH. I couldn't think of the name "Connie" fast enough, so Condor (like the bird) stuck.

Her middle name is Maya because every time I lose track of Nick in game, I will run around the map and yell, "Nick? Nick? Nick, it's Larry. I- I think I killed him" until I find him again. For those who are uncultured unaware, that is a line from the opening scene of the Random Encounters Phoenix Wright Musical (and also Maya Fey's first line).

Originally Condor was going to get her scar from a knife attack, but then I thought about how that would come off in the context of a knight in shining armor swooping in to save her and decided that it would probably best to go in a different direction.

I'm just in the middle of episode 3 of season 4.

Just some thoughts:

- Ricky is always comparing him and Gina to Troy and Gabriella. He's like 'Troyella is endgame'. Yes, buuuut, after what you will learn about them (what we saw in the beginning of the first episode), you maybe will stop comparing to them, because a couple therapy mean that they have some problems...

- Jet being like 'who didn't I have a crush on this summer?' is so funny. Because I'm sorry if I was blind but I didn't see much of him being into Kourtney, for me he was totally on Ricky.

- I'm wondering what happened to Kourtney's boyfriend, Howie. I remember that she was worried about him, but that's all, right? Maybe they will talk about him after...

- Big Red studying abroad is literally the worst excuse they find to explain why he's not part of the show anymore. He isn't the type to do things out of his comfort zone. It's literally making an excuse of why him and Ashlyn will break up.

I like Ashlyn and Maddox but I'm such a fan of the bi couple. Big Red's big geasture for Ashlyn was very cute in season 2, I loved the musical number. In season 3, he wasn't a big part of it, but he still came to support his friends and his girlfriend. I'm so sad that everything is done to make them break up... I love a good wlw but Ashlyn and Big Red were the couple that I wanted to see lasting.

- Emmy's character is very different from what we saw at camp even though she wasn't a part of the main cast. I like it honestly, it's very refreshing! And I'm impressed at Liamani, she's like fourteen/fifteen (?), it's her first real experience on TV, and she's killing it!

- Same as Big Red's situation, the drama with Seb is not something I like. I don't think Seb would act like that. He was such a nice guy, Carlos was the dramatic one and Seb was more chill. I think that if it was the exact same situation but with a role reverse, it would make more sense? Carlos being dramatic about Seb potentially cheating on him while he was away and not wanting to listen to him, would make sense for me.

But in the situation that we see, I feel like Seb would be the one to say to Carlos things like "if you say you didn't I believe you, I don't know much about TV but I know that they like to make things look like something while it's not. It's exactly why I don't like social medias, it's very fake sometimes. I love you, I believe in you."

- If one of the problems people had with Portwell was that Gina stayed at East High while EJ was graduating, why is not the same with Ricky? He's a senior, he will leave next year, and Gina will still be in East High... Even if Ricky choose a college close, he will still not be in high school anymore...

I had a dream that I was back in high school (note: I am almost 28 years old) and the Jonas Brothers were also there? They looked like they did in like 2007 and were all inexplicably in the same grade despite clearly being different ages and surely at least one already being a legal adult. Other than that though all the other kids in the dream were just my actual old high school classmates and everything was normal. Kevin was dating one of my old friends and was on the debate team, Joe was one of the many rumored fathers of this one pregnant girl’s baby (he denied responsibility but so did all the others, so jury’s still out I guess) and had detention for sleeping through math class, and Nick was my fellow theater kid but also wanted to try out for the basketball team like some kind of reverse Troy Bolton. The only other notable thing I remember was that at lunch someone started a convo about celebrity crushes and Nick started gushing about how hot and beautiful he thought Miley Cyrus was, which now that I’m awake is so funny??? 😭 Like that was the only thing my subconscious remembered about 2007 Nick Jonas when it was constructing the dream universe lmfao. Joe said his celeb crush was RYAN SEACREST of all people which was. A lot to unpack but I have to respect it bc like? Being into middle aged men AND potentially getting a girl pregnant in high school?? He said messy bi rights 💅🏽

I actually have so many friends at school that its crazy? For most of my life I never really had more than one or two at a time, but now I have more than I think I can even count. It’s crazy what happens when your anxiety disorder is being efficiently treated.

So why is it that I when I have more friends than ever before I can’t find a group to go to prom with. I originally had a platonic date and wasnt going to worry about it, but it turns out she doesn’t have the money for a ticket. Problem: I already bought a dress. And had it fitted. Paid too much for that bitch to not go now. I have four groups I could potentially tag along with.

One consists of people that I only hang out with when someone hosts a party or when we go to homecoming. Downside: they pre-gamed homecoming this year, which was funny but also kind of not because they spent half the time vomiting in the bathroom. So prom will probably be the same.

The second has two (possibly three) of my friends in it, but I think most of the people there have dates, and I don’t really know the rest of them outside of the three.

The third consists of a friend I hang out with often enough and a family friend that’s embarrassed to talk to me at school, and at least one girl thats friends with my sibling. She’s nice, but that might make it awkward. I think a lot of them have dates, too, but not all of them.

The fourth is the one I think I’ll end up going with, seeing as someone in that group actually invited me. It consists of a pretty good friend of mine, her partner, and some other people I probably at least kind of know. I know they’ll all be nice people- this person’s friends always are. The downside is there’s someone in that group I’ve kind of had beef with in middle school. I’ve been avoiding them because of that, but after explaining it to the friend I have in this group, I’ve started to realize how ridiculous it all is. It’s a 50/50 on whether or not their even coming- they might hate me because I’ve been avoiding them, but I guess this is as good a time as any to apologize. I guess hanging with this group is going to make me less popular with some of the more prissy people I know, but at this point I don’t think I need to worry about it anyways. I know that sounds shitty, but there was a point in time where I was just trying not to be bullied by my “friends” anymore than I already was. I’m not locked in there anymore.

Does Tumblr care about my high school drama? Probably not. Oh well. I love people. I didn’t know that until I started taking meds for my anxiety. Now I need to tell the world apparently.

Tropes And Prompts That I Wish To See More Of In Fanfiction

Enemies to lovers, coffee shop AU’s, “there is only one bed oh my whatever shall we do”. These tropes are all great! But what about the tales that are hardly told on AO3? What about the underused tropes?

-To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before AU: For those of you who don’t know the Netflix rom-com “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”, the basic plot is this (It’s been a while since I saw it, so everything I say to you might be lies. Also, if you do not care about the plot of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, feel free to skip ahead):

There’s this hopeless romantic girl, right? And somehow, no one will date her, despite her being gorgeous and funny and smart and sweet and having a room like a magazine photo (and her bed is in the middle of the room?? Every teenager I know has their bed against at least two walls, it’s common sense). Standard teen movie stuff. 

Instead of talking to guys she likes, she’ll write out detailed letters confessing her feelings to them. It’s a diary thing, I suppose. She also writes down their addresses on the letters. Where is she getting the addresses? Why is she writing them down? She never planned to mail them. Why are you the way you are, Laura Jean?

Anyway, wacky hijnks ensue and (le gasp) all five of the letters are sent. Somehow, this merely leads to a love triangle, where the proper thing would be a love pentagon, but whatever. There are no sword fights in this movie.

Anyway.

That was a roundabout way of saying why is that not a fanfic trope? There are enough fandom bicycles with several ships that this would work perfectly for! It’s a good way to add some drama to a high school AU.

-This isn’t a trope really, but Weddings: Once your OTP have trecked through the angst, skipped through the fluff, and settled into their domestic fics, what would the wedding be like? Weddings are really fun from a writing standpoint. You want drama? Emotion? Cute couple antics? Wacky best man and/or maid of honor shenanigans? First dances going well? First dances NOT going well? That one family member that shows up that no one wants there because they’re a reminder of when your grandfather split the family in half and caused quite a bit of psychological damage to 90% of the guests (that might be more of a specific problem with my relatives)? Let them get married!!!

-While in high school AUs, don’t neglect the drama club: The school musical is actually a great framing device for a story! It’ll be a common thing the characters are all striving for, a way to bring them together, a big final event for the finale, and, of course, no one can do drama like the theater kids. There’s so much to do here!

-On that note, D&D club will do a similar thing: Bonus points if actual paranormal activity starts happening and they have to become the heroes they pretended to be (and actually are in canon?).

-MASQUERADES: MASQUERADES ARE AMAZING. THE AESTHETIC. THE DRAMA. THE STYLE. CHOCK FULL OF PREMIUM RAZZLE DAZZLE.

-Amusement Parks: Amusement parks are up to their necks in story potential. Want romanticism? Want a kiss at night lit only by the glowing ferris wheel? Want humorous realism? Did someone throw up on the coaster again? Dear lord, this is my life, isn’t it. Want creepy stuff? Fun houses are less fun when everything is trying to murder you. And of course, your OTP could meet when person A decides to scam person B at carnival games, and person B is having none of it.

-Hunger Games AU: Ever wanted to murder people and not have to cover it up? Congratulations, the Hunger Games AU is for you! How will your ship react to a doomed romance? Will they Katniss/Peeta their way out of things, or will it actually be doomed? Will you pit all of your ships against each other? You decide!

alright, we're here for ep 3 reaction and thoughts &

man, i must say, DRAMA.

love it. i'm going to try and make this short but i fail horribly at stuff like that soooo lets see how this will go. i think imma split it into three groups! adults, kids, other random shit.

adults

you know what? i was here for most of them. people talk about zoyas dad bad acting but he was fine in his little scene, i'm happy that he's forcing zoya to take time with obie or whatever. i know people hate her dad and zobie but it was a little nice scene.

i'm really loving julien's dad. i'm glad he can own up and apologize and i get where he was coming from. honestly 10/10 so far, i love the relationship he has with julien and how's he's learning to cope with her becoming an adult and seeing it happen.

fucking love max's dad and the whole family dynamic thing before it went to shit. obvi, the one day is shitty but his other dad, lovely, i love their relationship. parents are winning in this ep.

teachers? JAIL (maybe not rafa but we'll still see). honestly, i'm not hating the teachers being gg, i like that they put gg out there for other private schools so i'm enjoying it but still JAIL. JAIL. JAIL.

our mains

we didn’t get to see much of monet but her little blow up motion at the end was funny and when the chick offered her name, monet said no. queen. and home girl accepted it.

luna was #theebest from her doing the zoya glow up. i think everyone agrees that her holding up the phone is a fan favorite. luna is my best one liner girl. her delivery is on point.

obie, more of obie, i know people don’t like him but he’s an alright character for me. i see potential but we need to flush him out a bit more. i hope to see more of his interactions with aki, give us the friendship. i want him to take what he learns to heart.

zoya, yes girl, pop off. i guess she can when it comes to her passions but not to her. (just be catty once back) i love that she did call luna when it came to the hashtag and she realized who she couldn’t be fairly quickly. i wonder if the play wright is the new friend.

julien! honestly, she really is a queen and i’m loving her pushing back against monet and luna more and more. i also love the scheming and her night out with max. they’re great together and i just wanna see more of it. (all of the friendships) i also love her relationship with her dad. i like that they talk and work things out and while he shouldn’t have lied, i get why and i love that he thought about her so much.

idk how to even to the next few but here we go.

honestly, i found aud and aki funny this episode. their reactions were so alike but so different. the awkward wave and everything. i get that they’re lying to themselves but damn, if they could find a way to spice up their sex life they’d be good. i find them so cute as a couple when they’re all cuddly and just ugh. guys. talk. i will say that after though, when they met in the hall way, i like that once it was out there, aki was straight to the point. honestly, if they broke up...i don’t think it’d be bad, i think they’d be good friends and understanding of each other.

i saw people saying that they didn’t give enough (aki) but max was on his monologue shit and i think they were in two different mindsets. aki didn’t look blank, he looked pissed. and i would be too lowkey, you say you don’t wanna be in the middle of it but then you put yourself, right in the middle. and aside from the kiss, i don’t think aki tried anything more with him unless it comes out that he did. but a few days passed (julien jetting around) so i don’t if they were that thirsty. audrey probs thought that in that moment, she’d really lose aki and that’s what brought her too tears. i think aki already accepted what might happen and was just pissed while audrey, even when she told julien about it, she was disconnected in her head about what she had done.

max was a rollercoaster this episode. from the taking julien out to posting her with the coke to making the plans. it’s was all chaos. i think the moment i felt the worst from aside from the break down? when he didn’t realize the trouble with his parents marriage at the table but we could all see it. that was heart breaking and my dude though, his planning was on ten. making the profile, switching the seats, the hands on the thigh (aki licking his lips) and then his break down and just telling of the truth, exploding, spilling the tea. whatever you wanna call it. it was wonderful and his reasons for doing it, so childish and backfired but you get it. he just wanted the truth out with his parents and it all went to hell. really, heart breaking but amazing for the show and his character development.

my man is still messy though, even without telling the business. like aud and max were in a relationship but those were yo friends my dude. you legit blocked aki from sitting next to his girlfriend, im crying. (messy and he knows it and aki liked his lips. sick.)
