I highly suggest using these around your home and work space. As we enter a new retrograde with Uranus in Taurus, stay connected and focused on your goals. There may be upheaval and change but they are necessary! Don't get stuck in the negative mindset that can come with change, but rather focus on the future and the path that was cleared for you!

Red, Wild and Free. Nordic/Scottish lines definitely showing today. Amongst other ones but lovin the red witch..
History of the Red Haired Witch
Even today, witches and women with magical abilities are often portrayed as having red tresses; from Hocus Pocus’ Winnie Sanderson to Melisandra ‘The Red Woman’ in Game of Thrones.
Societies have had a love/hate relationship with redheads throughout history. We have been worshipped and revered, but also degraded and feared, depending on the era, with the notion that we possess supernatural abilities either stemming from or causing that fear in many cultures:
1. IN SOME CULTURES TODAY, PARTICULARLY IN AFRICA, WHERE VOODOO AND MAGIC ARE STILL CENTRAL TO THEIR BELIEF SYSTEMS, REDHEADS ARE STILL THOUGHT TO BE WITCHES.
Probably due to our rarity in those regions.
2. THE CELTS IN WESTERN EUROPE, WHOSE TRADITIONS WERE STEPPED IN MAGIC, HAD FLAME-COLORED HAIR, WHICH THEY BELIEVE CONTRIBUTED TO THEIR POWERS AND STRENGTH.
Latin writings from the thirteen hundreds claim that redhead blood could turn copper into gold.
3. IT IS A WIDESPREAD FOLK BELIEF THAT REDHEADS ARE WITCHES, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THEIR RARITY.
According to the Encyclopedia of Witches, Witchcraft and Wicca, there is even “evidence that some ancient pagan sorcerers dyed their hair red for certain rituals”.
As we are aware though, to be associated with magic or supernatural power was not always a favorable position to find yourself in.
4. IT IS REPORTED THAT MANY CHRISTIANS IN THE SIXTEENTH TO THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURIES BELIEVED THAT REDHEADS WERE AFFILIATED WITH THE DEVIL AND SATANIC PRACTICES.
Because of this, red hair was a marker of witchcraft and magical abilities, and during witch hunts, redhaired people were often suspected and found guilty by witch hunters.
This was no light accusation, as between 40,000 to 60,000 people were sentenced during the witch trials, many of whom were drowned or burned at the stake, in attempt to cleanse society of all witches. Perhaps the large numbers of redheads reported to have been murdered during the trials are due to the fact that a large portion of the trials were held in Scotland, where red hair would have been more common, and so a larger percentage of redheads would have stood trial.
Similarly, in the German witch trials which took place in Würzburg, Trier, Fulda and Bamberg, ginger-haired people were said to have been put on trial, tortured and murdered, under the assumption that those who possessed red tresses must have been witches. During the Spanish Inquisition, it was believed that red hair was a result of its wielder stealing fires from hell, and so many were branded as witches and burned to death.
5. IN SCOTLAND AND IRELAND FISHING COMMUNITIES AND TOWNS, IT USED TO BE BELIEVED THAT IF YOU WERE TO SPOT A RED-HAIRED WOMAN, YOU WOULD CATCH NO FISH THAT DAY.
It is still considered unlucky to take a redhaired woman on board a boat – a bias that I have come up against myself!
6. WE SHOULD REMEMBER THAT WOMEN WHO WERE INTELLIGENT OR DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WERE OFTEN ACCUSED OF WITCHCRAFT BECAUSE THEY INTIMIDATED AUTHORITIES OR THOSE AROUND THEM.
It was because it was rare or unusual for a woman to stand her ground or rebel against societal norms that they were singled out as witches.

Magickal Uses of Nails
Nails have been used by witches since ancient times to work magick. A number of spells in the PGM call for the use of nails to pierce materials where the spells are written.
The Power of Iron
Iron, and by extension steel nails, contain the powers inherent within the base metal and all the repelling properties still apply. One mythological explanation for the repellent qualities of iron can be found in ancient Egypt where, around 275 BC, iron was referred to as “The Bones of Typhon”. Given the demonic qualities of Typhon iron later became known as the Devil’s bone. Through the concept that ‘like repels like’ as we see in magnets, of the same magnetic charge, iron can become a talisman which will ward off and protect against the very thing it’s attributed to it.
But for every negative interpretation of a magical item there is of course a positive representation. In the case of nails we can see this in the form of Holy Nails from the crucifixion. All things associated with the death and resurrection of Christ are deemed to be holy and imbued with great symbolic and actual power. In the case of Iron (and steel) nails the additional application of Holy Water to the objects imbue them with the power and the force to carry out positive workings, particularly those which are protective and invoke judeo-christian concepts.
The most common use of nails in a magical context is for the fixing of a spell’s energies, particularly in relation to baneful workings. Fixing may also relate to the pinning down of a person or situation to ensure that magical energies have the opportunity to work. In addition to being used in curses and protections they can also be incorporated into workings relating to legal matters. They are also used in protective charms and can be used to ground negative energies in larger workings such as witch bottles.
Coffin Nails
Coffin Nails are particularly popular in African Diaspora traditions, where their use has a long and enduring history of use. Real coffin nails are rare. I am not suggesting that you go dig up Great Aunt Nelly in pursuit of genuine coffin nails! First and foremost because disturbing a grave is both illegal but also very disrespectful to the deceased. If you do get your hands on genuine used coffin nails then you must be respectful to the spirits attached to them. Another simple yet effective way is by burying the nails in Graveyard Dirt for a set period of time and asking the spirit attached to the dirt to imbue the nails with the appropriate powers and aid in magical workings when the nail/s are used. Black Arts Oil, Power Oil and Goofer Dust are also cited as being able to enhance the agency and purpose of iron nails in a similar way.
Uses for Nails
Here are a couple of examples of how coffin nails, and nails in general, can be used in magical workings.
Carving and empowering candle magic – carve your purpose and/or symbols using a coffin nail to supercharge the working regardless of purpose.
Personal protective charms – carry a coffin nail on your person, ideally on the left hand side, to avert unwanted and negative energies from you day to day. Tying two or three nails together with natural red thread also forms a powerful protective charm.
Household protection – charging four coffin nails for household protection and hammering them into the four corners of the property will provide an effective protection against negative influences. In some cases it may be more appropriate to use railroad spikes which have been charged in Graveyard Dirt .
Cursing – to stop a gossip, take an animal tongue, preferably that of a cow, to a four ways crossroads and hammer a coffin nail into it to fix the gossip’s tongue.
