what are some good tv shows/movies u recommend? i have nothing good to watch😥
I've got A LOT to recommend.
Red eye (thriller drama, Cillian Murphy is playing the villian 😉 plot is amazing, it can give you literal goosebumps 😭)
The 5th wave (Absolutely underrated, the most inappropriate scenes only involve kissing & cuddling)
Totally killer (100% plot, time traveling, meeting your mom, fighting against a killer and all that. Tw: gore)
Baby (my favorite Italian series on Netflix, hottest actors, teenage drama and high school problems, tw LOTS of 18+ content)
The maze runner (I think you know this one, you HAVE TO see it. My fav fandom after Harry Potter. Book series are much more detailed and better tho)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (not the modern one, watch the old movie series, I LOVE it, books are also the best)
Game of thrones (ABSOLUTE masterpiece, books are also chef's kiss)
Pride and prejudice (if you want some old times romance with passion and all that, it's perfect for you)
The hot chick (my favorite 'mean girls' type of movie!)
The kingdom of the planet of the apes (just watched it in the movie theater, IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, you can watch it illegally on myflixer.com, also the other movies above)
Anne with an e (absolutely amazing series, it's a romance and comedy, also a drama. MUST SEE IT!)

Regarding The Maze Cutter...
This isn't a theory or anything, just wanted to talk about this book. To anyone wondering whether its worth it to read the Maze Cutter, here's some of my thoughts on it ( without many spoilers)
Pros
1: It's kind of a continuation of Newt's story... kind of. There's excerpts from the journal he wrote in Crank palace which were my favourite parts of the book. His death plays a major part in the Godhead organisation - and maybe the remnent Nation?
2: I liked how Daschner explores a post-flare world in more detail and shows how the planet is slowly recovering. It's also interesting to see what's happened in the years since the Death Cure
3: Frypan has more of a role!
4: I'm not entirely certain on this one, but I thought I'd mention it for the Minho fans. There's a character named Lacey who I think is implied to be a decendent of Minho because of her determination to use Glader Slang like her Grandfather did or something.
5: Switches perspectives, which kind of works.
Cons:
1: It's definitely my least favourite book in the entire Maze Runner series, doesn't have the same energy as the other ones and the characters feel pretty flat.
2: While a focus on Newt is always welcome, it feels really forced in this book. Almost like Daschner is trying to get people to read his books by putting him in there haphazardly
3: The dialogue between the characters felt really flat as well and none of the characters really felt connected to eachtoher (except Minho and Roxy kind of ). Like Sadina and Isaac are meant to be super close friends but it just doesn't really feel that way at all.
4: With all the different perspectives, you see different parts of the world and story, however they don't really have their own voices and it feels tricky to differentiate between them.
5: Alexandra's storyline just felt so separate from the rest of the story and was boring to read until her last chapter.
Those are my thoughts on the Maze Cutter off the top of my head, I'm going to get the next book - The Godhead Complex - and will let you know if it's better or worse.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018)
Overall, I still think the Maze Runner series would have been better off if it had ended a few minutes before the end credits of the first film. However, if you enjoyed the first film - and its sequel, a picture of much lesser quality - and you want to see where it all ends, this movie’s for you. The Death Cure is a satisfying conclusion that uses its budget effectively. This looks way better than something which cost about $62 million to make.
Following their betrayal at the hands of Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), the last of the Gladers – Thomas (Dylan O’Brien), Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) and Frypan (Dexter Darden) – are looking for their captured friend Minho (Ki Hong Lee). Thanks to his blood, Teresa is close to finding a cure for the zombie-like Flare Virus but she wonders if the World Catastrophe Killzone Department (WCKD) and the bloodthirsty Janson (Aiden Gillen) aren’t taking things too far.
There have been so many dystopian YA franchises that fizzled before their story concluded. The Host, The 5th Wave, even the seemingly popular Divergent all ultimately went nowhere. To see a final movie where all the stories get wrapped up and we get a proper goodbye actually got me a little worked up. There’s a lot happening in this film, which means it’s got a fat running time. One hundred and forty three minutes feels excessive but I’ll take it rather than a Part 1 and a Part 2.
While The Death Cure is nothing like the first Maze Runner story-wise, it contains the same kind of excitement. There are many action scenes and the one we get right from the beginning - a Mad Max-style chase across a desert - lets you know we’re in for a lot of pyrotechnics. Largely gone are the dull Cranks (the zombies). Instead, we get many scenes of the battle-ready Gladers narrowly evading their WCKD enemies and scraping together victories from the skin of their teeth. Actually, this brings me to a criticism. There are A LOT of moments where characters show up just at the right time to save the day. By the end, it starts to feel artificial. The plot is appropriately epic and exciting. The Death Cure manages to add emotional weight to the situation without dangling the same love triangle carrot so many of these teen-aimed films did but still, it stinks of cheap writing tactics. A couple more passes through the wringer would’ve made this picture tighter and less contrived.
A good chunk of the running time is given to the characters. Some of the stuff surrounding a B-story, with Walton Goggins playing the malcontent leader of the people surrounding the last city is just ok. Much meatier are the glimpses into the psyche of Teresa and Ava (Patricia Clarkson), the villains of the first two movies. They're given much more fleshing out. It helps make you understand why this whole thing even started. Yeah, some of the logic is still a little dicey but at this point, questioning it doesn’t make sense. It all comes together particularly well at the end as the characters manage to deal with the emotional baggage they’ve been hauling this whole time while the world falls apart around them. In a concluding chapter like this one, that's essential.
Seeing it a second time, I enjoyed The Death Cure more than I did initially. Maybe it’s because this is one of the better dystopian YA novel film series or because seeing the movies in quick succession - rather than with the large gap created by injuries actor Dylan O’Brien suffered during the filming of this picture - I was more attached to the characters than before. Either way, the fans will leave satisfied. (On Blu-ray, June 28, 2019)

January 2023 Reading Wrap-up
I only read three books but I didn’t get back into reading until I think the second week of January.
The Maze Runner
⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5
Genre: YA dystopian
Type: physical
Thoughts: I’m late to the game but I really wanted to read a dystopian for some reason and I am glad that I finally read The Maze Runner. It was good for it being a 2009 dystopian book. However I just find the characters a bit bland and the world building out there. What I mean by that is Dashner’s writing with cliches and descriptions were both lackluster and over the top. Beside the semi-poor writing I enjoyed the story line and action packed plot.
Will I re-read this? Probably not. Will I continue the series? When I get to it.
Death in Soho
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Genre: historical mystery
Type: audiobook
Thoughts: What a book! The reveal at the end had me thinking for DAYS. Everything about this book was well done and it kept me hooked until I finished it.
Will I re-read this? Yes!
Will I continue the series? Ohhhhhh yesssss!!
Red Queen
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Genre: YA Dystopian
Type: audiobook
Thoughts: I might be in the minority on this but I absolutely loved Red Queen. I really liked Victoria Aveyard’s writing. Especially the last hundreds of pages with Maven and everything holy crap. That being said I absolutely despise Mare. She’s just an annoying person who’s rude. There’s nothing likable about her. However if that couldn’t stop me from devouring the book and wanting more.
Will I read this again? Maybe
Will I continue the series? Absolutely I already got the books ready to read!

Il Labirinto della Trinità
Scheda informativa
Titolo completo: Maze Runner: Maze Cutter – Il Labirinto della Trinità Titolo originale: The Goodhead Complex Autore: James Dashner Editore: Fanucci Prima edizione: 2023 Pagine: 268 Prezzo: € 14,90
Trama

BOOK REVIEW: EDEN BY C. J. SINGH
⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
I have not read YA dystopian in some time, and this was a great way to get back into it. Eden has only ever known life in the forest outside the city, which is walled off due to a virus. A chain of events causes her to meet new people, learn more about the world around her, and discover her place in a world hidden from her her entire life.
The story is told through three POVS: Eden, her adoptive older brother Tristan, and Jace, a young man her family captures in the area around their home. I always love multiple POVs, which significantly benefited the story. Because of the nature of the narrative, it was rare that everyone was all together, so seeing how everything was going down added to the atmosphere and the characterization of the MCs.
With the three POVs came my concern that there was going to be a love triangle that lasted throughout the series. Shout out to the author for (assumedly) making sure that can’t happen. I will not spoil the series, but when the possibility of the triangle was thrown out the window, I cheered internally.
Eden reminds me of what I love so much about Katniss Everdeen and Tris Prior. They are both such strong heroines who don’t understand their place within society (and how important it is) but are willing to do what it takes to be on the right side of history, even if it means sacrificing themselves. She’s easily made my list of favorite FMCs.
The science girlie in me loves how the science of the virus works. There isn’t some overly complicated answer to everything, which I appreciate. There’s value in simplicity, and it’s written well in this series.
A Must-Read If You Like
Tris from Divergent
The Telepathy in The Maze Runner
Peeta from The Hunger Games
The Science of Uglies
Eden is available to read now on KU!

Book thoughts: The Maze Runner
2.5 ✰
add this to the list of books I'm definitely too old for
art by Lehanan on DeviantArt
wtf was the point of theresa.... she did nothing? they could have had that note on thomas and her impact would have been the same. like where did the telepathy come from? surely we could establish that that was a possibility before we jumped straight into telepathy
thomas is such a selfish protagonist. he was almost unbearable and i didn't like him at all - the side characters 100% saved the day. the fact that 50% of this book were characters just straight up refusing to tell thomas anything that THEY KNEW??? it wasn't miscommunication, it was deadass they yelled at him for asking reasonable questions and refused to tell him anything that they fucking knew the answer to. it drove me nuts. I just don't understand the point of this book
