As the camera clicked on, you sensed the beginning of another recording session. Satoru, next to you, shifted in his seat about before the start of the video.

"Hey there, it's l/n y/n," you chimed in with a grin, "and i'm Gojo Satoru," the white-haired male beside you smoothly finished, "and this is our Wired auto-complete interview!" both of you beamed as the staff handed over boards containing the internet's most searched questions.

Satoru held your board while you held his, diving into the depths of what the online people wanted to know about you.

Q. "Who's y/n l/n's 'gorgeous' about?"

With a smirk, you retorted, "sorry to burst your bubble, person-who-searched-that but 'gorgeous' is about your mom," you answered, eliciting laughter from Satoru and the crew.

"Lame! Just tell them the truth" Satoru teased, well aware of the implications behind his words.

"That's the only truth," you replied, feigning innocence before swiftly moving on.

Q. "Is y/n l/n's song 'call it what you want' about Gojo Satoru?"

Your cheeks flushed with embarrassment as you stuttered, "That's... quite the assumption," failing miserably at masking your nerves.

The crew chuckled, mentioning how your fandom had already orchestrated a fictional relationship between you two.

"We know, next they'll claim we're expecting a baby or something!" Satoru quipped, earning a horrified look from you, "Alright, my turn now."

Q. "Who's Gojo Satoru's favorite actor?"

"I'd say my good ol' friend, Geto Suguru! He's a top-notch," Satoru replied, reminiscing about the movies and series they did together.

"True, i'm a big fan of his work" you confessed, prompting a playful pout from Satoru.

"Maybe he's not that great anymore," he mumbled in mock jealousy.

"You're good too!" you reassured him amidst laughter.

Q. "Is Gojo Satoru married to y/n l/n?"

"Spiritually i am" Satoru quipped, earning a playful jab from you.

"Don't encourage them, Satoru!" you scolded him.

"Sorry, couldn't resist," he replied unrepentantly.

Q. "Is Gojo Satoru in a relationship?"

"I am. . .not! i'm a lone wolf" Satoru declared with a hint of melancholy, though everyone in the room knew the truth but as you looked at him, his convincing lie almost had you fooled, if it weren't for the fact that you, his actual girlfriend, stood right beside him.

"Alright, alpha boy, next question!" you exclaimed before the tables turned.

Q. "What's the name of y/n l/n's next album?"

"I've just released 'reputation' can't I catch a break?" you exclaimed, playfully collapsing out of your chair.

"How dramatic," Satoru chuckled before suggesting, "You should write a song about me though."

I don't have a lot positive to say about the re-staged version of the ALW musical.

But I will admit I do kind of like the fact that Raoul barges into Christine's dressing room as she's undressing.

I like this because, on the surface its very ha ha, so awkward uwu, but it also highlights how very scandalous this very action is.

In 19th century theatre culture (especially in France) there's only one reason a man (the patron of the Opera, who is the main financial backer of the establishment) goes into a singer's dressing room with a bottle of champagne. Whether that is Raoul's intention doesn't matter: he's a man of society, he's the responsible one here, or he should be.

But setting that aside, this really makes me think about how Raoul is never thinking about Christine in a circumspect fashion. He is not thinking about the fact that this is a private area he is entering uninvited--a private area that is private for the very specific reason: at any point, Christine could very well be naked or otherwise in a state of vulnerability and/or undress behind that door. He does not knock, or announce himself. He either is not thinking about this or does not care. Both are bad.

(And yes I am conscious of the fact that Christine is not only undressing, but undressing in front of the mirror; the mirror that Erik is, in all likelihood, hiding behind, even as she does so).

To Raoul, as much as (perhaps even more so than) to Erik, Christine is an object. An object to be, by turns, admired, pitied, placated and protected.

Perhaps I find this so interesting because in the book, Raoul is shown to invade the sanctum samctorum of Christine's dressing room without her knowledge or consent several times.

"When you were pitying him the other night, the night of the masked ball. When you came into your dressing room, didn't you say 'Poor Erik'? Well Christine, there was Poor Raoul who overheard you!"

"That is the second time you have listened at my door, M. de Chagny!"

"I was not at your door! I was in the dressing room! In your boudoir, mademoiselle!"

An interesting contrast to Erik, who, in spite of abducting Christine, holding her against her will etc. always knocks three times on her door before entering her bedroom in the house by the lake, and gives her his word that in that apartment and in her dressing room she is assured of privacy from him.

"How can you believe yourself safer here in the theatre?" Raoul asked. "If you can hear him through the walls, then he can certainly hear us."

"No. He gave me his word that he would not be behind the walls of my dressing room again, and I trust Erik's word. My dressing room and my room in the house by the lake are mine exclusively, and are sacred to him.

Also very interesting to me is that on my fourth read of various English translations of the book [1911, 1911 restored, 1990 Lowell Bair, and 1996 Leonard Wolf] there is never any indication that I've noticed that Christine's mirror is two-way glass. It does not slide to the side as depicted in movies/ the musical. The mirror is built into the wall itself and turns with the wall on a pivot like a revolving door. There is never any mention of him looking at her through the mirror, only listening and speaking to her through her walls.

It was finally Halloween. The one time of year everyone in the mansion could go out, as themselves, in public. Jeff and BEN almost always plan something. This year was a karaoke bar, and BEN called ahead to make sure "costumes" were allowed. Slender already gave everyone the okay and their day off, so everyone was getting ready to go.

Well, the human-looking proxies got ready, such as you, Masky and Hoodie. You dressed up as (costume choice), Masky was a zombie, and Hoodie was going as Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. The list of attendees were as follows: you, EJ, BEN, Jeff, Jane, Clockwork, Toby, Masky, and Hoodie.

Once you got to the room BEN rented you took in your surroundings. Alcohol was absolutely everywhere, everything from tequila, to gin, to whiskey, to beer. And there was at least a grand worth of it. Makes sense when your eyeless boyfriend needs probably 6 of them to himself just to get a buzz, let alone drunk. The couch on the right wall was a black leather, you can hear BEN yelling something about a "casting couch". In front of it was a dark brown coffee table with a massive bowl of candy on top. On the left wall was the counter lined with adult beverages. The wall furthest from you had a cooler, presumably with drinks other than alcohol. And lastly, there was a huge TV above the counter. Next to you and the door was the karaoke machine.

Almost everyone immediately headed towards the booze, EJ included, highjacking (pun intended) the Grey Goose. Being the gentlemen he is, he also grabbed you a shot of (alcohol choice, if you dont drink pick a soda).

First up on the karaoke list was BEN of course. He chugged half a bottle of tequila before singing "I Just Had Sex" by The Lonely Island and Akon. Because of course. Jeff tried to be all edgy and sing "In The End" by Black Veil Brides. Neither of them were really good. Jane went up to sing "Without Me" by Halsey and it was beautiful. She couldve been a singer if Jeff hadnt attempted to, ya know, kill her.

After a couple hours, you were cuddling up to Jack as everyone drank and had fun. Masks were off, everyone was chill. Any makeup was messed up. Jack, at this point, had drank approximately 8 or 9 bottles of various alcoholic beverages, he was just starting to reach drunk. BEN has been trying to force you to sing for about an hour at this point, everyone encouraging you, even Jack. Obviously he wont force you though. But Jack's encouragement was slowly giving you confidence.

You timidly stood up and walked over to the machine, you could feel everyone's eyes on you. You input your song of choice (the song above). Holding the microphone to your lips, you stutter, "u-um this is for Jack," a nervous smile reaches your lips. You get a few "aws" from your audience as the music starts.

Jack's face was so red you thought his head was going to explode. You couldn't tell if it was the song or the alcohol. BEN and Jeff wolf whistled, Jane and Clockwork cheered you on. Your confidence only builds more.

Jeff and BEN are teasing Jack now, but he couldn't care less. He was trying his damndest to not get hard. And he wasnt doing a good job at it.

The Lambs Wolves Wear Playlist

I was like ‘crazy these are all about Philza’ and yep that happens when he’s the protagonist...vague plot vibe and arc spoilers! And also now have figured out actual playlists....yippee! I think if it doesn't work someone say so..

Ofelia - Kiltro. I decided to start with this one because I feel like it really establishes the ambiguity and double meanings that laces The Lambs Wolves Wear. The ambiguity of the chorus between if the singer is saying "it’s a lie" and "it’s alright" and "it’s a lot" is really good for Philza’s burden of feigned solace. Particularly in the early days when Philza lies awake in a bed empty of Tommy, staring at the window the demon crawled out of. And "I love like a smoking gun". I mean come on.

Wolves of the Revolution - Arcadian Wild. About playing a part, keeping vigilant, and nature/nurture. Second, because this is more about what the "children" are like beforehand and infiltrating.

Under my skin - Jukebox the Ghost. This one is for “Techno” and them possessing Techno, and their mistrust of Philza/vessel families/humans as Techno tries to slam them with softer emotions. Here since "Techno" infiltrates first, and establishing WHY the "children" have incentive to lie.

Toes- glass animals. “Honey can you spy/the divine ape-swine/‘cause he can see you” particularly speaks to how “Technoblade” in turn interrogates the nature of humans, and “Tommy” treats them like instinct driven beasts. Like the entire chorus, for the insisting of personhood for an inhuman form, lying, “and all I ever want is just a little love”. We close of the "children" section wrestling with their personhood and learning to seek gentleness.

Final Girl - Graveyardguy. And immediately plunge into the horror of Philza. Immediate establishes how he views the situation and his plan of action. Although...I mean, obviously without the more sexual elements, but it’s the perfect encapsulation of the role reversal in a way that I kinda immediately thought about it when making this playlist. Deeply related to my essay on the gendered horror of Lambs.

The mask and the mirror - Poor Man’s Poison. About hiding an internal struggle and seeing you on the other side of hell. And being a little vehement out how good he is at his facade. "This face I wear for you/Goddamn I wear it well". After Final Girl as it moves away from Philza's schemes to the actuality of the situation as it sits in for the long haul, and just how much it wears him down over time.

And the hound - Yaelokre. ‘And the hound it is humming you a lie, a lullaby’. Philza oh my sheepdog. “Fear's not enough, they have to tear him apart” like ahhh it just fits really well. Philza's plan beginning to work.

Widow Me This - The Black Robinson Synthetic Orchastra. Philza as a literal widow, but also the way Philza spins allegories for the “children” and calls them to participate in their own snare. “I did my alllll and know that I failed/” and “down six feet I’ll sing you to sleep” and “But still it feels like none of it’s real”. Really digs into the mechanisms of manipulation.

Particularly with the switch up where it looks like the wolves are actually redeeming themselves, only for Philza’s hatred to overwhelm it as they prove too deadly. Because this song is about despising a wolf in sheep clothing enough that the singer develops a vicious taste for blood.

Tomcat disposables - Will Wood. And then pulling back from the vengence catharsis to examine the horror of it from the "kids" side. The “children” beginning to become used to the kindness in Philza’s home that they never knew before. Learning to dream of simple things. Some of their lingering traumas and the horror of learning to trust and finding it betrayed. “Do I belong in right and wrong?/Nature, I guess.” for themes of nature vs nature. And “My struggles had a happy ending/they must want to be friends!…/what does it hurt?/My just desert is served, dig in.”

Philza calling the “children” to try something new (tame/humanity/taking a swim in the water) only for it to be dirty, tainted. “My heart is full of swords” and “you who bares all your teeth in every smile/says I can always hear you sing, I wanna hear you speak to me”. I decided to end on this one because of the range of emotions it offers, bitter and tired and wanting to love someone but holding only danger (from both sides). I headcanon Diego is bisexual, borderline pansexual. This man is attracted to pretty people, whether men or women. Of course, he's not completely shallow; he looks for good things in a partner besides just their appearance, but he'll never deny that the beautiful ones catch his eyes more easily…

👻 A headcanon about what scares them

Diego is scared of drowning. He was once knocked overboard while sailing, and while he obviously didn’t drown, he’s terrified of experiencing that again. He knows how to swim, but he’s still scared of getting into deeper water than waist height.

🎶 A headcanon about music

Diego is a big music fan, especially if he can dance to it. He loves classical music but also enjoys some more untraditional genres too. Of course, his favourite singer will always be Argo, but he can also appreciate other performers.

💝 A headcanon about their love language

Diego is well-versed in many forms of showing love. While he often displays his affection through flirting, he uses more meaningful and personal ways to show love to his chosen partner. I’ve previously stated that painting someone is one of his biggest displays of love, but Diego also lives for physical affection, specifically cuddles. He loves snuggling with his partner, having his hair played with, or sharing a nap together.

💔 An angsty headcanon

Diego was abused as a child, but not by his parents or other relatives. The person who hurt him has no relation to him beyond being the monster who still haunts him. The scars on his body tell a story of pain and suffering, one he has rarely spoken about to others. Diego hates the permanent marks on his skin and the nightmares he still gets because of his abuser, which is why he crafted a mask of confidence to hide his pain. He doesn’t let anyone see the real him except for a select few.

👗 A headcanon about their clothes

Diego makes most of his clothes. He occasionally buys them but prefers making them by hand to tailor them to his style and fit. Many have told him he should pursue a career in fashion design, but Diego is happy with the job he has chosen.

🔪 A headcanon relating to fighting/violence

While he calls himself a gentleman thief, don’t let the good looks fool you; Diego’s bite is far worse than his bark. He could tear an enemy to shreds if he wanted to and is never unarmed. His weapons might not be as inconspicuous as Argo’s daggers are, but if you happen to feel something poking you in the back, I can assure you, it's not Deigo being happy to see you. It's a blade with your name and soon to be your blood on it.

🍫 A headcanon about food

Churros are one of Diego’s favourite desserts. His mother taught him how to make them, and when he misses Madrid and his family, he’ll make some for himself. He loves having them with a side of melted chocolate, but he can’t eat too much, or he starts feeling sick. But tasting the sweet, fried treat is always worth feeling stuffed and nauseous later.

💄 An appearance headcanon

Diego has been called vain more times than he can count, but he can't help if he just wants to look his best. If this man lived in the modern timeline, he would have a multi-step skincare routine! Even so, Diego takes the time to maintain good hygiene, including his body, teeth, and hair. If you ever need advice on what products to use, Diego's your man!

😺 An animal related headcanon

His favourite animal is the wolf, and not just because that's what his surname means. Wolves are intelligent, loyal, caring, and protective, all characteristics he strives to have. He has images of wolves designed on many of his belongings, like his pocket watch and cane. Wolves have become his calling card of sorts, and anyone who comes to know him well in his personal or business life associates the animal with him.

😬 A headcanon about the worst thing they’ve done

Stealing Canto del Mare’s prized possession, a giant pearl shaped like a conch shell. Its interior is lined with pure aquamarine, and while no one can explain how it was formed, the islanders treasure the shell deeply. To them, it is priceless, and no matter how much money someone could offer them, they would never part with it. The shell was safe on Canto del Mare until it was stolen by the outsider they welcomed to their island: Diego.

The night Diego stole the shell was one of the worst nights of his life. He hated himself for betraying Argo and the islanders’ trust. They had taken him in when he had nothing and never asked for anything in return. But in the end, he took the most important thing in their lives to save the one he loved. While he knows he made the best choice he could given the situation, Diego has hated himself for it every day since.

🖕 A headcanon relating to anger

If you piss him off, Diego isn't afraid to get loud and furious. He can curse you out in Spanish and English with words that would make even a sailor blush. He's not scared to stand up for himself or those he cares about, but he tries not to let his anger get the best of him.

😶 A random headcanon!

He has a younger cousin who is more like a little sister to him. They grew up together, and she loved following him around and trying to mimic him. She always wanted to play with him and just be around him in general. Diego used to find it annoying at times but looking back, he’s glad he got to spend so much time with her as he hasn’t seen her since he left Spain.
