Small rambling thoughts,,,, Transistor is such a beautiful game and I especially love the performance given by the Boxer/Mr Nobody. There’s one line in the game where he goes “I love you so much, Red… you know that, right?” And I need everyone to go listen to that line delivery because it makes me emotional just thinking about it!!!! The whole game is beautiful and bittersweet and that line delivery really encapsulates the feeling of loss and determination the game holds.

Xenogender (xeno - strange, other, foreign) is a type of gender identity that can't be defined in relation to the usual human gender spectrum (masculine feminine, non-binary, agender, demiboy, demigirl...) and instead uses non-human categorizations.

Xenogender identities are said to fill a “lexical gap” or the lack of words in the English language to define one’s particular experience with gender. Xenogenders fill these gaps by comparing their gender identities to certain concepts – pre-existing or imaginary. It should be noted that xenogenders don’t necessarily identify with specific objects, but use these things as metaphors to describe their relationship with gender. - LGBTQ Nation

Examples of real xenogender categorizations:

Identifying with an abstract concept such as freedom, fluidity, more than you would identify with the concepts of "masculinity" or "femininity"

Feeling more comfortable with thinking of yourself as someone "alien" or "robot-like"

Feeling absolutely genderless. Some refer to their gender as a "void" (voidgender)

Identifying your gender as something as fuzzy and indiscernable as TV static (staticgender)

While extremely uncommon in our world, people on the xenogender identity spectrum are definitely more represented in the Hazbin Hotel universe!

After all, most souls are reincarnated in bodies that are no longer human or human-like in appearance and functionality and the gender they were assigned at birth as humans or the one they chose in life might be entirely impossible to guess. It also seems like it's a common practice to reinvent your entire identity in your afterlife, going by a new name and barely mentioning the person you used to be.

Wouldn't it be fitting for non-human Sinners to identify with non-human gender qualifiers? Occasionally, as a way to temporarily cope with their dysmorphia? Or fully embracing them and taking pride in them?

obviously the russell brand (also john tavares? lmao?) 'protection' amulet is a huge horrible scam, but i do sort of wonder about the EMF exposure stuff. most of it is absolutely crackpot nonsense, but the general understanding that sensitivity to e.g. 5G is a horseshit conservative thing does kind of prevent us from investigating further, i think? and while i have no particular belief that cellphone radiation is deadly or whatever the story is, i do think that blasting increasingly high-frequency radiation in populated areas is deserving of robust safety investigation. when you say stuff like this, the studies cited in response are mostly from, like, the LTE era, and we are using different hardware, way more people are using cellular data constantly, and 5G towers need to be placed more densely to work well (there's something of a speed/range trade-off). meanwhile, network providers & cell phone manufacturers are planning already for 6G, with an expected rollout in 2030. i swear to god i am not trying to be a luddite here OR agree with a regular patron at a previous library where i worked, who insisted that other people having cell phones in the library caused her physical pain & would shout at staff & other library users about it. but i don't have a great deal of trust in american regulators (consider, for example, that the 5G frequency ranges that the FCC licensed out included frequencies that interfere with some altimeters and weather satellites), and i have no trust whatsoever in the large companies who are driving this change. i mean, i also have questions about whether any of these improvements are warranted, but then i am still cheerfully using my 4G potato phone with no complaints

Parallel Play Week 2024

Day 1 - Fairytales

Woe, Parallel Play Week 2024 be upon ye! (For those uninitiated this is when I borrow the prompts of another ship week and play alongside them with my own blorbos because there's no one who will do a ship week with my obscure crossover ship and sometimes it's just nice to feel like a part of something. I will sit quietly in my corner and not disturb the ship week tags though.)

I searched for a bunch of different cultural fairytales that might have fit this prompt, but in the end I succumbed to my baser desires and made a Transistor AU, so it's more "Fiction" than "Fairytale."

I imagine the Akatsuki being the Camerata in this AU. Itachi is obviously Royce Bracket, Pain and Konan I think make a decent Grant and Asher Kendrell, and it would be really interesting for Sasori to be Sybil Reisz. You can insert any ship thoughts you would like in there, but I think he's the Akatsuki member most suited to being a flying multi-armed glitch monster.
