Harry Potter Fanfiction, with original female character that is Harry Potter's sister and the mate of Sirius Black & Remus Lupin.

The Great Hall of Hogwarts buzzed with anticipation as Bella Potter stood shoulder to shoulder with her brother Harry, flanked by their closest friends and allies. The time had come for the final showdown with Voldemort, and the air crackled with a mixture of fear and determination.

Bella glanced at Harry, their eyes meeting with an unspoken understanding. They had come a long way since discovering their shared heritage, and now, together, they stood ready to face their greatest challenge yet.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh, this is an unexpected question lmao I literally had to sit here for a few minutes and just like, think about it. Because I’m like, terrible at headcanons. I usually keep that shit in my brain or I vomit it at friends lol

LETA PYRITES

As much as Leta is justified in their actions, it doesn’t excuse what they’ve done and they know it. Yes, their role is mainly as a spy and blackmailing others but they have witnessed many, many deaths, been complicit in the deaths of many Muggles and Muggleborns, and have actively killed when they’ve had to. They’ve never wanted to and don’t enjoy it, but they know it doesn’t matter in the eyes of their victims or their victims’ loved ones. In their eyes, they’re just another Death Eater, another Pureblood, another monster. Their reasons don’t matter. And Leta has learned to live with this.

ÉTIENNETTE WILKES

My sweetest, softest, rose-tinted girl. She isn’t the serpent hiding underneath the flower, she is the flower. But that doesn’t mean she’s innocent. She compromises her morals until they become basically irrelevant because she chooses her friends over morality, over what is right. She surrounds herself with monsters, cares for monsters, and willingly works for the biggest monster of them all. Part of it is being inadvertently conditioned over the years by her friends to disregard her morals, but a lot of it is by choice.

MARY MACDONALD

Her Catholic upbringing had a big effect on how she views the world, regardless of whether or not she still believes in God but especially when she stops. It affected her disillusionment and subsequent distrust of Dumbledore, and it affected her own morality when it had been so absolute. Thou shalt not kill. Her faith and belief in God was one of the foundations of who she was, and that gets absolutely shattered after Mulciber nearly kills her. Through the haze of depression and emptiness that follows, she eventually comes to two startling conclusions: either God isn’t real and could have never saved her or God is real and didn’t bother to. She takes a sharp left turn into morally ambiguous territory, and as they say - the rest is history.

PANDORA LOVEGOOD

The fact that she is a Malfoy is so, so important to her character, y’all, like I’m not even fucking with you. It gives context to how she interacts with others, her relationship with blood purity and Death Eaters, the subsequent rejection of those things because she doesn’t have time for that and just why Pandora treats the world a particular way in reference to how she’s always been treated throughout her life.

ALECTO CARROW

Alecto has numerous ugly scars on her back inflicted upon her through dark magic by her father. Her back is honestly a mess of horrendous scar tissue and have never properly healed due to the nature of cursed wounds, and she has always been self-conscious of it. Her father made sure it was on a place that generally others wouldn’t notice. When she attends pureblood events and parties, she never wears backless dresses and is very particular when she has sex with others. They’re a permanent reminder of what she has to live up to, of her father’s expectations and punishments when she fails to. She hates him for it that she imagines killing him countless times and hopes to run away. She loves him enough that she continues to try and fail to be good enough for him.

GRISHA MCLAGGEN

Will I ever stop saying her relationship with Tom/Voldemort? Probably not. I mean, you can’t blame me when it’s kind of the center point of the fan film. He’s a crux component of her identity and the discovery of her heritage, and how she grew into herself during Hogwarts. Grisha holds herself responsible for not stopping him when she had the chance, when she had many chances to. For not seeing the red flags for what they truly are, for seeing them and turning away because she wanted to see him as the brilliant boy she fell in love with, as her best friend she was going to change the world with, as the hero who saved Hogwarts at the cost of a poor girl’s life and a sweet boy she knew. Grisha bought into the illusion and the person because she wanted to, because she couldn’t face the reality of who this boy she’s known all these years really was. Then she became an Auror as a result but it was already too late to save him from himself. And then she was too late to save her friends from him.

BELLATRIX LESTRANGE

Bella is a monster, plain and simple. She is a horrible, terrible human being and is a villain for a reason. I don’t see how you could ever forget this but don’t think I forgot this, because I definitely haven’t. She’s a powerful, deadly monster; delighting and an expert in killing people. But this doesn’t negate how important her relationship with her sisters is to her character and to me. To her, they are, or were, her soulmates; her flesh and blood, meant to be hers and meant to be by her side forever. She is not who she is without them. Her loyalty to them is fiercer, more absolute than her loyalty to her own parents - or so she thought. Andromeda’s betrayal entirely fractures her identity and how she saw herself and the world around her. She stops letting people in almost entirely, her distrust skyrockets, and she double downs on everything awful about herself while simultaneously becoming obsessive over those she cares about that she has left. 

ALICE LONGBOTTOM

I don’t believe I’ve ever stated this on the blog yet or have it mentioned on Alice’s profile yet, but Alice was a fucking magical genius. She was a poster child prodigy born into the limelight because of her Quidditch superstar dad and Sacred 28 mum, constantly compared to and pitted against her Squib twin sister and she hated it. But she also worked hard to live up to her own expectations, and in some ways the expectations of her parents and the public. She is brilliant and good, applying herself to anything and everything - partially so her sister doesn’t miss out on all the sorts of magic Hogwarts has to offer. I believe Dumbledore would’ve recruited her regardless of whether or not she was an Auror, that was only a bonus. Basically, out of all my muses, she’s the only one who would actually be a threat to Bellatrix and the Lestrange brothers.

MAFALDA PREWETT

Okay, I often joke about how awful Mafalda is; how she likes to show off, is an attention seeker and is hungry for validation, sarcastic and bitchy and rude, and has a tendency to be nosy and eavesdrop and gossip about others. But like, she’s a match for Hermione in terms of intellectual and academic prowess. And she isn’t afraid to work hard for it, to make up for the years where she was left in the dark by her parents in order to catch up to her peers and be better than them. Like she genuinely enjoys learning and is very, very gifted and studious. She’s a tad bit too arrogant, sure, but there’s a genuine reason for her arrogance.

CHARITY BURBAGE

Charity is still very materialistic. It’s not a surprise, honestly, for a girl raised by purebloods and swathed in wealth. She enjoys and savours expensive clothing, fine wine and food, lavish trips to beautiful cities. There’s a certain image she projects after rejecting her real name and using ‘Burbage’ instead, with long sweaters, and cups of tea, and dog-eared pages in worn copies of Hamlet. But yeah, she still keeps a small fortune of galleons around before she self-exiled herself, and the apartment she bought is in a far more expensive area of Muggle London. But at the same time, she was willing to give up her comforts and material wealth and luxuries for the sake of her independence and bettering herself away from the influence of her family. 

LILY EVANS

My Lily is, purposefully, not like Fanon!Lily, or at least I’m trying to consciously not make her like that; whether or not I achieve it is another story altogether. There’s a lot of pent up resentment, and she was very willing to break the rules that she often made others uphold. She wasn’t friends with the Marauders at all during most of Hogwarts, only starting to befriend them when she began dating James in her seventh year and absolutely abhorred the boy until she ended her friendship with Snape. She had her own group of girls she was very close with, including Mary Macdonald, her best friend, and had dated a few people before James, with one very serious relationship with a girl ending by Sixth year. She was very willing to seriously hurt Mulciber (and even kill him) when she heard what he did to Mary, and after Dumbledore said that Mulciber wouldn’t be expelled for his actions. 

KATIE BELL

She REALLY likes girls, that’s all. Okay, but seriously her friendship with the girls around her - Angelina, Alicia, Leanne, Hermione - is so important to her, and important to me too. It’s as intrinsic to her character as Quidditch is, as the terrifying moment when she got cursed by the opal necklace. Although they are a part of her realisation that she’s attracted to girls, she really loves them a lot and would do anything for them. 

DORCAS MEADOWES

She never wanted this life. Dorcas has been running away from this for so long, trying so hard to untangle herself from all of it, because this isn’t who she is, who she wants to be. She rejected magic, she rejected the Wizarding World, she rejected her place in the war. Being special, being different from everyone around her, fucking frightened her. She was content with the life she already had - being normal, as normal as a Jewish-Indian girl can be living in Wales with two dads. Her moral compass is the choke chain that holds her in place, that drove her to join the Order after much convincing from Alastor Moody, that had her agreeing to become a double agent within the Death Eaters’ ranks. There’s a lot of self-loathing and reluctance when it comes to her character and her involvement as a Double Agent.

Weird Headcanons for my Boys

Regulus Black

took piano and/or art classes growing up

loves to braid his friend’s hair. Rodolphus prefers a braid that leads into a bun. Rabastan will accept any braid but usually gets a classic french braid. Lucius will only allow him to braid his hair if he does a fishbone braid.

He’s definitely a Capricorn

has had a crush on Rodolphus forEVER, although some of the reason he likes Rodolphus so much is because Rodolphus is basically a Slytherin, pureblood supremacist version of Sirius. Rodolphus is (in Reg’s mind) who Sirius could have been. Rodolphus is the wildest someone could get and still follow aristocratic society

He’s got a reputation that he keeps so clean that it fucking hurts, which means that he misses out on kid stuff a lot because he’s too busy thinking about estate affairs and dining etiquette. His friends are the only thing that bring out the kid in him.

I think most of these stupid boys actually have a part of muggle culture that is their guilty pleasure. His is definitely the books. He LOVES classic literature and he will slip muggle books into wizard book covers so his mother doesn’t know.

He’s actually a major romantic but being logical is regarded as more important on his list of things he needs to be which is why he’s not out there courting anybody. 

this boy treasured Slug Club and duelling club and Slytherin quidditch practice and any activity where he got to be with his friends more than anything in the world (because his parents sucked and expected him to be everything Sirius refused to be because now they “only had one son” and it was a lot of pressure and anyone Regulus is my favorite character in history every of characters so yeah there’s that).

Rabastan Lestrange

serious cryptid and loves all mythical creatures. His favorite class is Care of Magical Creatures, and he believes in all things out there and he wants to meet and study all of them

he’s very particular about who he befriends, because humans don’t have predictable behavior like most animals/cryptids

He’s asexual and aromantic. He’s only into platonic friendships, and then only barely. 

‘Scuse me?? This boy is a Taurus???

He and Regulus are best friends and have a strong bond of brothers, similar the bond between Marauders. I would almost say platonic soulmates. Regulus is the only one who can understand his deep love of creatures that are “below” them, but more than that, they just understand each other on a fundamental level

both he and Rodolphus have long, curly wild hair, super thick and too wild to tame. I’m talking like viking ass huge hair.

He’s one of those strong-and-silent, animals-not-people type. I imagine he talked to people the same way April Ludgate does in Parks and Rec. He tries to scare them on purpose and never says anything genuinely unless he’s talking about how much he loves creatures more than humans. He’s a Creepy Boi (TM)

Rodolphus Lestrange

plays guitar like it ain’t no thing. Now here’s Wonderwall (Maybe not Wonderwall but you better believe his muggle guilty pleasure was their music. He was a part of the rock scene going on in England back in the day)

rocks the perfect man bun. I cannot picture him without a man bun, he has one I swear to god. 

He is arranged to be married with Bellatrix, not by choice. Most marriages are because there is not a whole lot of purebloods left. He, like Bellatrix, feels nothing for his fiance, although he does care about her and her family.

Sometimes I hc that he and Regulus are a thing, like done behind Bellatrix’s back that throws her into an insane rage. However, ultimately I don’t think that would be Regulus or Rodolphus’s style. Regulus cares too much about his image, and Rodolphus isn’t much of a romantic. I would probably say more likely he flirts with Regulus like he flirts with everyone else, leading Regulus to have a huge crush on him.

Favorite class? Honestly it’s divination, although he doesn’t really tell anyone. Not because he’s embarrassed, but he’s just very subtle about the things he likes; he’s not gonna geek out about it but he’ll be like “ah, shit, that’s cool.” He’s an Aquarius, btw

Lucius Malfoy

his marriage with Narcissa is an arrange marriage but they are romantic soulmates. If it hadn’t been arranged, Lucius would have proposed on his own. Lucius, although seen as strong, is actually very weak while Narcissa is assumed to be weak when in fact she is very strong. This dynamic works very well for them.

He won’t admit it to anyone but he’s an exquisite dancer and he loves it. He knows every step to every formal dance, and couldn’t step on someone else’s foot if he tried.

He’s a fucking Virgo

Charms and Potions are the subjects he’s very good at, although I wouldn’t say he really liked them. He liked being good at them and showing off, but he didn’t dislike or like either. He was probably in the Slug Club (IDK if he really was but he seems like someone Slughorn would loooooove)

He’s surprisingly good at knowing the value of most objects. He’s like a wizarding Pawn Shops guru. He’s very tricky about buying things cheap and selling them high. He honestly would have done muggle pawn shopping too except he (like all the boys) were grossed out and vaguely scared of muggles.

Barty Crouch Jr.

has a crush on Regulus because of their similar backstories: raised by authoritarian pureblooded families with high places in wizard society, the Crouch family because of his father’s government position and the Blacks due to old money

A Scorpio, for sure, like for sure for sure

He, Evan Rosier, and Antonin Dolohov are basically the Three Stooges of the groups. They are always seen bickering and insulting and teasing each other. The shenanigans they get themselves into his hilarious. Rosier knew Barty Crouch Jr. growing up (the way all pureblooded families knew each other) but they didn’t become close until Dolohov joined and they became the trio

he liked Defense Against the Dark Arts but only because he saw it as a puzzle; if he understood DATDA, he could understand how to get around the defensive spells so that the opponent defense would be rendered useless. 

everyone refers to him by his entire name. No Barty or Crouch. Barty Crouch Jr. is what all his friends call him every time they refer to him.

He’s a mega fan of all things quidditch. He knows every single fact and can tell you the score of a Quidditch World Cup a 100 years back. He can tell you the stats of almost every player in the league...at least every player on the important teams. He’s a Chudley Cannons fan.

Evan Rosier

To me, he’s kind of like the Slytherin, pureblood supremacist version of James. He’s good-looking, intelligent, talented, and his background is the opposite of what you’d think. His parents are not well-off or very attractive or kind or smart. If given the chance, they would take from him everything he had. He found a family in his friends (unlike James who gave a family to his friends). 

A hard Libra. He’s very much a Libra

is very bisexual and makes it very clear from the moment you meet him. He likes men and women equally and is a charmer. I mean most Slytherins are charmer but he’s got the charm of every female villain sidekick who seduces her way into making the hero break. That’s Rosier.

is the group’s connection to the wizard equivalent to weed, which is called Muggle Beard due to the fact that the marijuana looks gnarly and gross. His connection? His deadbeat parents

Tells nothing about himself to anyone. He’s the person who literally never stops joking so much that if he was serious, you would think he was joking. Like that’s how he is, he’s always messing around.

His favorite class is maybe potions? He doesn’t really like class but he LOVES duelling club. The club is divided into two teams, with a mix of every house on each team. It’s the only place where he doesn’t give a fuck if you’re Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw. If you’re on his team, he supports you, and if you’re not, you’re GOING DOWN

Antonin Dolohov

was supposed to go to Durmstrang but his mother, who had been dating an abusive muggle man at the time, had to flee before he killed both her and her son, which brought them to England and which brought on his long-held grudge on muggles. His mom’s abusive ex broke his nose before they left, which is why it’s a little crooked.

He’s probably most definitely a Leo. That’s just it. He is.

didn’t want to make friends at first out of spite but after a while of some determined teasing from Rosier and Barty Crouch Jr. he caved

was arranged to be married to Andromeda before she ran away with a muggleborn. He was quite infatuated with her (or at least the idea of being married to someone) but after she left him, the whole thing lost its taste. He no longer felt the need to find someone to spend his life with.

favorite class was transfiguration. If he became an animagi, he would have turned into a hawk or possibly a falcon. Definitely a bird of prey. He gives out strong bird vibes.

It started on his seventeenth birthday.

Draco had known it would start then, of course. That part was normal. The clock was supposed to manifest as a tattoo on his skin, and begin its countdown to the moment Draco would meet his Soulmate. He’d been looking forward to the clock’s appearance all year— desperate for anything that might take his mind off his hopeless situation. Draco was exhausted, the damned cabinet was never going to be fixed, and his whole family was probably going to die as punishment.

And Draco had been prepared to die with them, resigned to the fact that his countdown tattoo might not appear at all, or might be stuck at 00:00:00:00:00:00 right from the beginning.

Draco had not, however, been prepared for the clock to appear at midnight and begin counting down from a mere one minute and seventeen seconds. His heart jumped in his chest. Clearly Draco was one of those rare wizards who had already met their Soulmate, but hadn’t known yet because he wasn’t of age at the time. Which didn’t help Draco in the slightest, as he could think of precisely nobody at Hogwarts who he might like to spend the rest of his life with.

He stood up from the stool he’d set in front of the hopeless cabinet, grabbed his wand, and began making his way to the door of the Room of Hidden Things. Between the time he’d spent staring at his countdown in disbelief, the time it took to reach the door, and the few seconds he devoted to not panicking, the clock reached zero at the very moment he pushed open the door.

Nobody was there.

Although, perhaps… it was quite dark. Draco quickly closed the door behind himself and cast a nonverbal lumos. There were no torches that lit up this part of the castle at night, and for some inexplicable reason, his Soulmate – whoever they were – had been standing in the dark.

“Hello?” Draco said. He tried not to sound too snappish or offended; this person was his Soulmate, after all. “Are you there?��

Draco increased the strength of his spell, but even when he walked up and down the hall a few times, nobody appeared.

So, Draco had been correct after all. He didn’t know why his arm had bothered to play this cruel joke on him— to give him a minute of hope.

He had known he was alone.

He had known.

He had.

Draco put away his wand and made his way to Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom in the dark.

The Manor was frigid. It always was, these days.

Draco took a sip of his tea in a futile attempt to warm his body, but it had gone cold after setting there for hours during his Occlumency “lessons” with his Aunt Bellatrix.

“Poor little baby Draco’s never gonna have a boyfriend! It’s alright baby Draco! You can cry! I know how you love to cry!” His aunt’s taunts still rang in his ears, even though she’d given up, cackled a bit, and then blessedly left the room several minutes ago. Now it was just Draco and his father, who was reading the Prophet in his chair and pretending not to have noticed his son’s recent humiliation.

And then it was Draco, his father, his mother, and a group of Snatchers, who were pushing three prisoners ahead of them: Granger, Weasley, and – fuck – Potter.

Potter’s face was fucked up, but Draco would still have known him anywhere. Especially when Potter’s eyes lifted from his own hands to stare at Draco with no small amount of astonishment.

And then they lowered to examine Potter’s hands again, then raised to look at Draco, then lowered again and—what the bloody hell was Potter doing?

Draco vaguely noticed that his parents were speaking to the Snatchers, but he was much more interested in seeing just what was so interesting about Potter’s—

Countdown. Potter’s countdown, which had run out. Potter’s countdown, which – judging from the way he looked like he’d just been told he was destined to spend the rest of his life with a Death Eater – had probably only just run out.

“Well, Draco?” asked his father hungrily.

Just because Potter was looking at Draco in horror didn’t necessarily mean— any one of the people here could be— If Potter was Draco’s Soulmate, he would have been there that night, that night when Draco had lost all hope after his timer had run out and he’d been all—

Wait.

Potter had been following Draco around for most of last year. Potter had waited hours outside the Room for Draco to emerge so he could find out what he was up to. He’d trailed after Draco all the time under that blasted Invisi—

Invisibility Cloak.

Potter had an Invisibility Cloak!

He must have been there, that night! But of course he hadn’t revealed himself, because Potter hadn’t turned seventeen until the end of July, so he’d have had no way of knowing that Draco was his Soulmate.

Until now.

Potter had lost most of his shock, and now he mostly looked very intense in that Potterish way he had, and almost against his will, Draco felt something like joy expanding in his chest. He wasn’t destined to be alone forever after all. His Soulmate had been there when he opened that door. And his Soulmate was Potter of all people— perfect, Golden, snarky, unquestionably Good Potter. Potter, who was currently on a mission to save the world, and yet somehow Draco was worthy of him. It seemed impossible, but Soulmarks never lied. Now that they knew, there was every reason to believe that someday they would meet again under different circumstances, maybe go on a few dates, and—

“Is it?” Draco’s father insisted. “Is it Harry Potter?”

It was. It was Harry Potter, and it was Draco’s Soulmate, and Draco would do everything in his power to protect him.

“I can’t—” He could. “I can’t be sure.”

For the first time in a long time, Draco was full of hope, and when he looked at Potter’s face again, he could have sworn he saw the barest hint of a smile.

They’d done it.

Voldemort was dead. It was mostly down to Harry – Draco had become used to thinking of him as Harry – but Draco had done his fair share. He’d Confunded Vince and Greg as soon as they’d arrived, and then nudged them gently towards the kitchens. He’d helped get the younger students to safety, and convinced at least a few of the older Slytherins to stay and fight for their school. He’d told everyone who would listen all that he knew about the fighting styles of various Death Eaters. Hell, he’d even saved one of the Weasley twins’ lives when he’d happened to notice a spell coming at him from behind. He’d be sure to gloat about that whenever he finally got to see—

Harry was surrounded by various friends and parental figures clamouring to make sure he was all right. They cleared away rather abruptly – Luna Lovegood seemed to be making some sort of a fuss nearby – and Harry finally looked straight at Draco.

It was like a magnet, the force that compelled Draco to walk towards Harry. And Harry was walking at him as well, with that same intense, Potterish look in his eyes.

They stopped when they came face to face, and Draco dared to lift his hand and brush a spot of grime off Potter’s cheekbone with the pad of his thumb.

“Hello, Soulmate,” he said cheekily. Draco didn’t care that they’d just fought a battle. It was all over now, and he was alive, and Harry was alive, and he felt like he was floating on air.

Harry smiled. “Hello, Draco,” he said.

And then they were kissing.

Draco could hear gasps echoing around the Great Hall, but he ignored them. He felt like he’d waited his whole life to kiss Harry Potter, and he wasn’t interested in stopping to clarify how he’d switched sides and therefore had every right – thank you very much – to be kissing his Soulmate.

Draco shoved his tongue deeper into Harry’s mouth and wrapped his arms around his neck, even as he felt Harry’s arms circling his waist and squeezing the air out of him. Potter wiggled around a bit, seeming to prepare himself for something, and then—

“Put me down!” Draco pulled his mouth away from Harry’s lips to yell, horrified that his Soulmate could ever possibly have thought it might be acceptable to pick Draco up in public. He could feel his face flaming as Harry laughed, and he squirmed until Harry was forced to drop him. But Draco didn’t let that – admittedly ghastly – blunder stop him from going in for another kiss right away. In an effort to protect his dignity, he pinned Harry’s arms to his sides as he did it, and he was pleased when he heard a low sound of pleasure from Harry’s throat.

“Harry? Draco?” Luna Lovegood’s dreamy voice interrupted, “You’re distracting everyone from my distraction.”

Indeed, when he separated himself from Harry’s mouth and looked around, the entirety of Hogwarts seemed to be staring at them, gobsmacked. Draco quickly dropped Harry’s hands and stepped away, noting the very attractive blush spreading up Harry’s neck and across his face. Draco was looking forward to finding out exactly how far down that blush—

“Er… excuse us,” Harry said to the room at large, and then he pulled Draco out of the Hall, down the corridor, and into an undamaged classroom.

“Finally,” he said once he’d shut the door and stalked over to where Draco was leaning against a desk, “We can be alone.”

Draco smirked and lost no time grabbing the back of Harry’s head and pulling him into another heated kiss.

When he was together with Harry, being alone wasn’t quite so bad.
