Whenever i think of the day they actually caught Loki after the death of Baldur...
...I picture him grinning as hes dragged out of the water.
Because he thinks this is just like all the other times.
Theyll catch him, beat them up, threaten him maybe and then theyll soon cool off and he'll mess with them another day.
But this isnt like the other times
He realizes that when he's dragged to a cave.
He realizes that when they bring in his twin sons from his second wife.
And his grin soon turns to horror.
He thought this would be like all the other times
Why wasnt it like all the other times?

Hey! I wanted to request Loki x reader fanfic. Can it be arranged marriage with slow burn au where the reader is a princess of a small kingdom who never thought she'd be marrying into a higher kingdom let alone Asgard. So is surprised when is betrothed to loki. She tried to give him benifit of doubt but we'll he acts like an ass and she decides to give it to him back equally. They both banter and throw sarcastic jibes during the courting period and after the marriage but over time they become friends and then lovers. Maybe She calls odin out on his bullshit and bias towards thor, and all the fun family dynamics with frigga and thor.
Thank you! And wishing you a happy new year!✨🍀

You sit in the grand hall of your father’s castle, the sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows, casting kaleidoscopic patterns on the cold marble floors. The room feels heavier than usual, the weight of your father’s words pressing down on your chest. Betrothed. You turn the word over in your mind, trying to make sense of it, trying to figure out how this has become your reality.
“To one of Asgard’s princes?” you repeat, unable to mask the disbelief in your tone.
Your father nods, his expression grave yet tinged with pride. “Yes, daughter. This alliance is a great honor for our kingdom. A union with Asgard strengthens our position, ensures our prosperity, and secures peace for generations to come.”
Peace. Prosperity. You’ve heard these words countless times before, always in speeches or during court gatherings when foreign diplomats visit. Now they’re being used as the justification for altering the course of your entire life.
You swallow hard. “And which prince?”
A pause stretches between you, long enough for your heart to skip several anxious beats. Your father finally answers, his voice calm, though his eyes betray some unease. “Prince Loki.”
The name settles over you like a shadow. You’ve heard stories of Asgard, of its golden spires and indomitable warriors. Tales of its princes, too—Thor, the golden-haired god of thunder, beloved by all, and Loki, the sharp-tongued trickster whose reputation is far more ambiguous.
You straighten in your chair, forcing yourself to remain composed despite the storm building inside you. “I see. And when am I to meet this... prince?”
“Soon,” your father says. “King Odin and Queen Frigga have agreed to host a meeting at their palace. You will accompany me to Asgard in three days' time.”
Three days. That’s all the time you have to prepare yourself for the encounter that will determine your future. You nod stiffly and rise from your seat, excusing yourself from the conversation.
Once you’re alone in your chambers, the weight of it all crashes down on you. You pace the room, the rich fabrics of your dress swishing around your legs, your mind racing. Betrothed to a prince of Asgard. It sounds like something out of a storybook, but you’re no naïve dreamer. You know enough to understand the realities of political alliances.
Still, you can’t help but wonder: why would Asgard—a kingdom so vast and powerful it dwarfs your own—be interested in such a union?
Three days later, you stand before the shimmering Bifrost Bridge, its prismatic light almost blinding. The sight of it steals your breath, though you quickly compose yourself as the Asgardian guards usher you and your father toward the grand palace that looms in the distance.
The palace is even more magnificent than the stories described, its golden towers piercing the sky, its halls adorned with treasures from realms beyond your imagination.
You feel small here, insignificant. But you refuse to let it show.
In the throne room, King Odin sits atop his gilded seat, his presence commanding, even intimidating. Beside him stands Queen Frigga, her beauty and poise as striking as the rumors claimed. The sight of her eases your nerves slightly; she seems kind, her gentle smile a stark contrast to the stern expressions of her husband and the guards flanking the room.
And then you see him.
Prince Loki.
He stands a step behind his parents, dressed in sleek black and green, the golden accents of his attire catching the light. His dark hair is neatly combed back, his pale features sharp and angular. There’s an air of arrogance about him, a cool detachment that only adds to his enigmatic aura.
Your father bows, and you quickly follow suit, keeping your gaze fixed on the floor.
“Your Majesties,” your father begins, his voice steady. “It is an honor to stand before you. I thank you for welcoming us into your home.”
Odin nods curtly, his single eye fixed on your father. “We are pleased to have you here. This alliance is of great importance to both our realms.”
Frigga steps forward, her smile warm. “And you must be the princess,” she says, addressing you directly.
You lift your head, meeting her gaze. “Yes, Your Majesty. It is a privilege to be here.”
Frigga’s smile widens, and for a moment, you feel at ease. But the feeling is short-lived as you catch Loki’s gaze. He’s watching you, his expression unreadable.
“Loki,” Odin says, gesturing toward you. “This is the princess, your betrothed.”
The words hang in the air like a thunderclap. Loki’s lips curl into a faint, almost dismissive smirk. He inclines his head slightly but says nothing.
You suppress the urge to bristle. Fine, you think. If he’s going to be curt, so be it.
Frigga notices the tension and steps in, her voice soothing. “Why don’t the two of you take a moment to speak privately? Get to know one another.”
Your father nods in agreement. “An excellent idea.”
Before you can protest, you’re being led to a nearby chamber, Loki following behind you at a leisurely pace. Once the door closes, you turn to face him, your hands clasped tightly in front of you.
For a moment, neither of you speaks. The silence is thick, uncomfortable.
“So,” you begin, forcing yourself to sound calm. “It seems we are to be married.”
Loki leans against the nearest wall, his arms crossed over his chest. “Indeed. Though I must admit, I find the arrangement rather curious.”
You raise an eyebrow. “Curious? In what way?”
He shrugs, his tone casual but laced with condescension. “Our kingdoms are not exactly equals. One might wonder what my father hopes to gain from such a union.”
The words sting, but you refuse to let him see it. Instead, you smile sweetly, matching his tone. “Perhaps he hopes I’ll teach you some manners.”
Loki’s eyes narrow slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing his face before he regains his composure. “Manners? How quaint. I wasn’t aware my betrothed was a tutor.”
You take a step closer, meeting his gaze head-on. “And I wasn’t aware mine was a child.”
His smirk falters, and for a moment, you think you’ve won. But then he chuckles, low and amused. “You have spirit, I’ll give you that. It’s almost endearing.”
“Almost?” you echo, tilting your head. “I’ll take that as a compliment, though I doubt you intended it as one.”
Loki studies you for a moment, his green eyes piercing. “You’re not what I expected.”
“And neither are you,” you reply, refusing to look away.
The tension in the room is palpable, an unspoken challenge hanging between you. Finally, Loki straightens, his expression unreadable once more.
“This should be interesting,” he says, his voice quiet but carrying an edge.
You don’t respond, watching as he strides toward the door and leaves without another word.
When you return to the throne room, Frigga gives you a knowing look, as if she can sense the clash of wills that just occurred.
“I trust you had a productive conversation,” she says gently.
You offer her a polite smile. “It was... enlightening.”
Loki says nothing, his expression calm but his eyes glinting with something you can’t quite place.
As the meeting concludes and you prepare to return to your chambers at Asgard for now, you can’t shake the feeling that this is only the beginning of a battle of wits and wills. And for the first time since hearing of the betrothal, you find yourself almost looking forward to the challenge.
The news spreads faster than you’d expect. Within days of the announcement, the realms are abuzz with the most unlikely engagement of the century: Loki, the so-called “trickster prince” of Asgard, and you, the princess of a modest but proud kingdom.
You learn of the reactions secondhand—your father shares reports from neighboring realms, some of which range from incredulous laughter to outright disbelief. Even within Asgard, whispers fill the air. Servants, courtiers, even the warriors of the great halls exchange furtive glances as you pass, clearly wondering how and why such a union has come to be.
You, however, have no answers for them.
Forced to stay in Asgard for the duration of your courtship, you find yourself in a whirlwind of carefully orchestrated meetings, formal dinners, and—most excruciating of all—dates.
The first one is planned with all the subtlety of a lightning bolt. Frigga herself announces it over breakfast, her tone pleasant but brooking no argument.
“The two of you will take a walk through the gardens this afternoon,” she says, her serene expression giving no indication that this is a royal decree rather than a suggestion. “It’s a lovely day, and I’m sure you’ll find the fresh air invigorating.”
Loki, seated across from you at the lavish dining table, barely looks up from his plate. “Invigorating,” he echoes dryly, his tone implying that being dragged into the sunlight is the last thing he finds appealing.
You sip your tea, determined not to let him ruin your mood. “It sounds delightful,” you say, forcing a bright smile.
When the time comes, the “walk” is as awkward as you anticipated. The gardens of Asgard are, of course, stunning, with vibrant flowers and towering trees that look as though they were sculpted by the gods themselves. But the beauty of your surroundings does little to ease the tension between you and your betrothed.
“You seem thrilled to be here,” you remark as you stroll along a cobblestone path, glancing at Loki. He walks a step ahead of you, his hands clasped behind his back and his expression neutral.
“I’m beside myself with joy,” he replies without missing a beat.
You roll your eyes. “If you hate this so much, why not just tell your parents you’re not interested? I’m sure they’ll understand.”
Loki stops, turning to face you with an arched brow. “You think I haven’t tried? My father, as you may have noticed, is not particularly accommodating when it comes to matters of ‘duty.’”
You shrug. “Neither is mine. But at least I’m trying to make the best of it.”
“Ah, yes,” Loki says, his lips curling into a smirk. “You’re positively brimming with enthusiasm. Tell me, is sarcasm a custom in your kingdom, or is it just your natural talent?”
“It’s a survival skill,” you shoot back, crossing your arms. “Particularly useful when dealing with insufferable princes.”
Loki laughs—a genuine laugh, though he quickly masks it with a cough. “Touché.”
The rest of the walk is less tense, though the banter continues. By the time you return to the palace, you’re both mildly annoyed but also—if you’re honest with yourself—mildly entertained.
The dates that follow are no less eventful.
One afternoon, you’re coerced into accompanying Loki to the library, which he claims is his “sanctuary.” You quickly learn that by “sanctuary,” he means a place where he can hide from people and indulge in his penchant for mocking their intellectual inadequacies.
“You know,” you say, trailing your fingers along the spines of ancient tomes as Loki lounges in a nearby chair, “if you put half as much effort into being pleasant as you do into being smug, you might actually be tolerable.”
“Why would I aim for tolerable when I can achieve perfection?” he counters, not looking up from his book.
You grab the nearest volume and plop it unceremoniously onto the table in front of him. “Here. Enlighten me, oh wise one.”
Loki picks up the book, glances at the title, and smirks. “A Beginner’s Guide to Asgardian History? How quaint.”
You grin, leaning on the table. “Well, I wouldn’t want to overwhelm you with anything too advanced.”
For a moment, his eyes meet yours, and you swear you see a flicker of amusement there. Then he closes the book with a theatrical sigh. “Very well. Sit, and I’ll educate you—though I can’t promise you’ll retain anything.”
By the end of the afternoon, you’ve learned more about Asgardian history than you ever thought you’d care to know. And, despite his constant teasing, Loki is an excellent teacher.
Another date—a “ride” across the Bifrost on enchanted steeds—proves to be even more chaotic.
“Have you ever ridden a horse before?” Loki asks as you mount your steed, his tone suggesting he already knows the answer.
“Of course,” you reply confidently, though your grip on the reins betrays your nerves.
As the horses take off, galloping across the shimmering bridge, you quickly realize that Asgardian steeds are not like those of your kingdom. They’re faster, stronger, and seemingly unbothered by the laws of gravity.
You let out an involuntary squeal as your horse leaps into the air, soaring above the bridge for a heart-stopping moment before landing gracefully.
Behind you, Loki laughs—an infuriating, delighted sound. “Having fun, princess?”
“Shut up!” you shout, gripping the reins tighter.
By the time the ride is over, your hair is a mess, your heart is pounding, and you’re thoroughly mortified. Loki, of course, looks as composed as ever.
“Well,” he says as you dismount, his smirk firmly in place, “that was exhilarating. Shall we go again?”
You glare at him, brushing strands of hair from your face. “Don’t push your luck.”
Despite the constant banter, you find yourself… not hating his company as much as you expected. Loki, for all his arrogance, is undeniably clever, and his sharp wit keeps you on your toes. He’s also surprisingly observant, occasionally making remarks that reveal a deeper understanding of you than you’re comfortable admitting.
For his part, Loki seems to enjoy sparring with you, though he never lets on too much. There are moments when his smirk softens, when his eyes linger on yours a little longer than necessary. But just as quickly, he retreats behind his usual façade of indifference.
The days pass, and the courtship continues, much to the amusement of the palace staff and the frustration of your parents.
“They’re impossible,” Odin mutters one evening after dinner, watching as you and Loki exchange yet another round of playful insults.
“They’re perfect for each other,” Frigga replies with a smile, her gaze warm as she watches the two of you.
Perfect. You wouldn’t go that far. But as you lie awake in your chambers that night, replaying the day’s events in your mind, you can’t deny that something about Loki intrigues you.
And though you’d never admit it, you’re starting to think that this arrangement might not be so terrible after all.
The day of your wedding looms ever closer, and Asgard hums with preparations. The golden halls are adorned with garlands of flowers, banners bearing the crests of your kingdom and Asgard hang side by side, and the palace is abuzz with activity. Servants scurry to and fro, courtiers gossip behind jeweled fans, and Frigga oversees every detail with her characteristic grace.
You, meanwhile, feel like a tightly coiled spring, caught between nervous anticipation and the persistent irritation that comes from dealing with Loki.
If the prince’s attitude was difficult before, it’s positively maddening now. You’re not sure what changed, but he’s been colder, more distant, his biting remarks sharper than usual.
One day, as you’re walking through the palace gardens, you decide to confront him.
“Alright, what’s your problem?” you demand, stepping in front of him and blocking his path.
Loki arches a brow, clearly unimpressed by your attempt to corner him. “You’ll have to be more specific, princess. I have so many.”
You cross your arms. “Don’t play coy. You’ve been acting like an even bigger ass than usual lately, and I want to know why.”
His lips curl into a smirk, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “You flatter me with your concern.”
“I’m serious, Loki.” Your voice softens, though your gaze remains firm. “If I’ve done something to upset you, just tell me.”
For a moment, his expression falters, and you think he might actually answer you. But then his smirk returns, colder than before.
“Perhaps I’m simply preparing you for the reality of being married to me,” he says, his tone light but laced with something darker.
Your stomach twists, but you refuse to let him see how much his words sting. “Fine,” you snap. “Be an ass. See if I care.”
You storm off, leaving him standing in the garden, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
The tension between you only worsens with the arrival of Thor.
The golden-haired prince returns from a long mission, his presence immediately commanding attention wherever he goes. Thor is everything Loki is not—open, friendly, and effortlessly charming. He greets you with a beaming smile, his blue eyes sparkling with genuine warmth.
“You must be the princess,” he says, clasping your hand in his large, calloused one. “I’ve heard so much about you.”
“Good things, I hope,” you reply, returning his smile.
“Of course!” Thor’s laughter booms through the hall, drawing the attention of everyone nearby. “I can see now why my brother is so reluctant to share his time with you. He must be afraid I’ll steal you away!”
You laugh politely, though the comment catches you off guard. Before you can respond, Loki appears at Thor’s side, his expression carefully neutral.
“Thor,” he says smoothly, his tone deceptively light. “How delightful of you to join us. I see you’ve already met my betrothed.”
“Indeed, I have!” Thor claps a hand on Loki’s shoulder, grinning. “She’s delightful. You’re a lucky man, brother.”
Loki’s smile tightens, and you swear you see his jaw clench. “Yes,” he says, his voice a touch colder. “Lucky indeed.”
From that moment on, Loki’s demeanor shifts even further. He grows colder, more distant, and his once playful banter becomes outright cutting.
During a dinner with Thor and the royal family, you find yourself on the receiving end of one of his more caustic remarks.
“Tell me, princess,” Loki drawls, leaning back in his chair. “Have you been enjoying your time here in Asgard? Or is it too overwhelming for someone from such... modest origins?”
The table falls silent, all eyes turning to you. Thor frowns, clearly disapproving of his brother’s behavior, while Frigga gives Loki a sharp look.
You take a deep breath, forcing a smile. “Oh, it’s been lovely,” you reply sweetly. “Though I must admit, the company has been a bit... mixed.”
Thor bursts out laughing, while Loki’s eyes narrow dangerously.
“Well played, princess,” he says, his voice low and icy.
The tension between you only seems to escalate as the days pass, culminating in a heated argument the night before the wedding.
“You know,” you say, standing in the middle of the grand hall where the ceremony will take place, “if you’re so miserable about this marriage, why don’t you just call it off?”
“And bring shame to both our kingdoms?” Loki replies, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “I think not.”
“Shame?” You scoff. “Oh, please. Everyone knows you don’t want this any more than I do.”
“And yet here we are,” he snaps, his eyes flashing with anger.
The argument spirals, both of you hurling insults and accusations until you’re both breathing heavily, standing far too close to each other.
For a moment, neither of you speaks. The air crackles with tension, and you half-expect Loki to say something cruel, something to end the conversation once and for all.
But he doesn’t. Instead, he steps back, his expression unreadable. “Goodnight, princess,” he says quietly, before turning on his heel and walking away.
You’re left standing alone in the empty hall, your chest tight and your mind racing.
The day of the wedding arrives, and you wake with a mixture of dread and resignation. You’re dressed in an elaborate gown, the finest your kingdom has ever produced, and escorted to the ceremony by your father and a contingent of Asgardian guards.
The hall is packed with dignitaries and guests from across the realms, their eyes fixed on you as you make your way down the aisle. At the end of it stands Loki, dressed in black and gold, his expression a perfect mask of calm.
As you approach, you search his face for any sign of emotion, any hint of the man you’ve gotten to know over the past weeks. But he gives nothing away.
The ceremony proceeds smoothly, the vows exchanged without incident. But as you stand before the gathered crowd, your hand resting in Loki’s, you can’t shake the feeling that something has shifted between you.
When the officiant finally declares you husband and wife, Loki leans in, his lips brushing your ear as he murmurs, “The games begin, princess.”
You pull back slightly, meeting his gaze with a mixture of exasperation and amusement. “Bring it on, prince.”
The crowd erupts in applause, oblivious to the battle of wills raging between the two of you.
And as Loki leads you down the aisle, his hand resting lightly on yours, you can’t help but wonder what the future holds for this strange, tempestuous union. One thing is certain: life with Loki will never be dull.
The wedding feast is a blur of golden light, laughter, and endless toasts. Your smile is painted on, your cheeks aching as guests from every realm offer their congratulations. Loki plays his part impeccably, charming the crowd with his wit and occasional glances in your direction that are just shy of affectionate.
Inside, you feel like a tightly coiled spring, wound tighter with every passing moment. You know what comes after the feast. The thought sits heavy in your chest, making it hard to breathe.
The hour grows late, and when the last of the guests have finally departed, you’re escorted to the chambers that have been prepared for you and Loki. The halls seem longer than usual, the distance to your destination stretching endlessly as your nerves build.
When you reach the door, the servants offer you both polite bows before disappearing down the corridor, leaving you and Loki alone.
He opens the door, gesturing for you to step inside. His expression is unreadable, though his usual smirk is noticeably absent.
The chambers are stunning, of course—richly furnished and illuminated by soft, flickering candlelight. But all you can focus on is the massive bed at the center of the room, its silken sheets and embroidered pillows looking more like a throne than a place to rest.
Loki closes the door behind you, and you hear the faint click of the lock.
You stand frozen in the middle of the room, your hands clasped tightly in front of you as you stare at the bed.
“Well,” Loki says after a moment, his voice breaking the tense silence. “I suppose this is the part where we consummate the marriage.”
Your stomach flips, and you force yourself to turn and look at him. “I... I know,” you manage, your voice barely above a whisper.
Loki studies you, his sharp eyes narrowing slightly. Then, to your surprise, he sighs and moves to the nearest chair, sinking into it with an almost theatrical air of exasperation.
“Let’s make one thing perfectly clear,” he says, resting his elbow on the armrest and propping his chin on his hand. “I have no intention of forcing you—or myself, for that matter—into anything tonight.”
You blink, taken aback. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” he replies, his tone dry, “that we don’t actually have to do anything. All anyone needs to know is that wesayit happened. As long as we both stick to the story, no one will be the wiser.”
Relief floods through you, so sudden and intense that your knees nearly buckle. “You’re serious?”
“Deadly,” he says, his lips twitching into a faint smirk. “I find the idea of spending the night in awkward silence far more appealing than the alternative.”
You let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding, nodding quickly. “Alright. I... I agree.”
“Good.” He stands and moves to the other side of the room, unfastening his cloak and draping it over a chair. “We’ll sleep in the same bed—appearances and all that—but I promise to stay on my side. You won’t even know I’m there.”
You hesitate, glancing at the bed again. “Alright,” you say softly, your voice steadier now.
Loki changes into a loose tunic and trousers while you slip behind a screen to remove your elaborate gown and don a simple nightdress. When you emerge, he’s already lying on one side of the bed, his back to you.
You climb in cautiously, keeping to the very edge of your side. The mattress dips slightly under your weight, and you can feel the faint warmth of Loki’s presence, though you’re careful not to look at him.
The silence stretches between you, heavy but not entirely uncomfortable.
“Goodnight, princess,” Loki says after a while, his voice quiet but laced with his usual sarcasm.
“Goodnight, Loki,” you reply, your lips curving into a faint smile despite yourself.
The next morning, you’re awoken by a knock at the door. Loki groans softly, rolling onto his back but making no move to get up.
“Come in,” he calls lazily.
The door opens, and a group of servants enters, carrying trays of breakfast and fresh clothing. They’re followed by Frigga, who takes one look at the rumpled bed and your mussed hair and smiles knowingly.
“I trust you both slept well,” she says, her tone light but her eyes sharp with curiosity.
Loki sits up, running a hand through his disheveled hair and flashing her a lazy grin. “Like babes in a cradle, Mother.”
You flush, quickly busying yourself with the tea that one of the servants has placed on the bedside table.
Frigga’s gaze lingers on the two of you for a moment longer before she nods, clearly satisfied. “Good. The court will be eager to hear that the union has been properly sealed.”
You nearly choke on your tea, but Loki remains perfectly composed, raising an eyebrow at his mother. “Of course,” he says smoothly. “They needn’t worry about that.”
Frigga gives him a pointed look, then turns to leave, her skirts sweeping gracefully behind her.
When the door closes, you let out a shaky breath, your cheeks still burning.
“Well,” Loki says, leaning back against the headboard with a smirk. “That was convincing enough, wouldn’t you say?”
You glare at him, though there’s no real heat in it. “You could have warned me she’d ask.”
“And deprive myself of the pleasure of seeing you flustered?” He grins, clearly enjoying himself.
You roll your eyes, but you can’t help the small smile that tugs at your lips.
The rest of the day is a whirlwind of public appearances and well-wishes from guests and courtiers. You and Loki play your roles to perfection, standing side by side and accepting congratulations with polite smiles.
But every so often, you catch Loki’s eye, and there’s a flicker of something there—something you can’t quite define.
As the sun sets and the festivities wind down, you find yourself wondering if this strange, tentative partnership might become something more.
The passing weeks blur in a mix of royal duties, public appearances, and private moments that seem far too fleeting. You and Loki settle into an unexpected, but not unwelcome, routine. It’s not one born out of affection, nor of any deep romantic feeling—at least not on your part—but something else entirely.
It’s friendship, of sorts, though it has an edge of guardedness on both sides.
Loki is still as sarcastic as ever, his barbed words often making you want to throw a pillow at him, but there’s a subtle shift in his attitude. He doesn’t try to make you uncomfortable, nor does he push you into situations that force your discomfort. Instead, he lets the two of you share moments of quiet companionship, moments that pass without him demanding anything more than just… being together.
At times, you even catch him offering a rare, genuine smile when the two of you exchange witty banter, the edge of coldness in his eyes softening for just a moment before it’s hidden away again.
It’s those moments—small, fleeting—that make you begin to wonder if there’s more to Loki than meets the eye.
But then, every time Thor is around, Loki retreats into himself. His demeanor hardens, his eyes become colder, and the playful teasing he once directed at you disappears, replaced by something almost resembling disdain.
It’s frustrating. You had grown used to Loki’s sharp wit and dry humor, but around Thor, he becomes a stranger. It’s as though he’s a different person entirely.
It’s in those moments that you realize just how much Thor’s presence affects Loki. The way his brother’s easy charm and warmth seem to have earned him the favor of everyone around them, especially their father, Odin.
The stark contrast between the two brothers becomes painfully obvious during family dinners.
On this particular evening, you’re seated at the grand table in the palace hall, flanked by Frigga on one side and Thor on the other. Loki sits at the far end, his posture rigid and his eyes fixed on his plate. The tension between the two brothers is palpable, though it’s subtle, buried beneath layers of carefully crafted politeness.
Frigga chats lightly with Thor about his latest battle, her soft voice carrying through the room. You listen attentively, though a part of you can’t help but glance over at Loki.
You can feel the weight of his silence, the way he seems to withdraw into himself whenever Thor speaks. Loki only offers the occasional half-hearted comment, his tone distant, as if he’s not really a part of the conversation.
Frigga, ever perceptive, seems to notice as well. She glances between Loki and Thor, her expression one of quiet concern.
“Loki,” she says gently, her voice carrying the weight of unspoken understanding, “is there something you wish to add?”
Loki straightens slightly but doesn’t look up from his plate. “No, Mother. I’m simply… observing.”
You can’t help but notice the way his jaw clenches, his gaze still fixed on his food as though he’s avoiding looking anyone in the eye.
Thor, ever the optimist, tries to break the tension. “Come now, brother. Surely you have a better tale to tell than mine. You’ve always been the more… creative one when it comes to storytelling.”
Loki’s eyes flicker toward Thor, but the look he gives his brother is colder than you’ve ever seen it. There’s something there, something unspoken that hangs heavy in the air between them.
“I have no tales to tell,” Loki replies coolly, his voice flat. “Not tonight.”
The silence that follows is thick, awkward. You shift in your seat, unsure of what to say, and Frigga clears her throat, clearly attempting to shift the atmosphere.
“I’m sure Loki has many stories to share when he’s in the mood, Thor,” she says, giving her son a kind smile. “But for now, perhaps we should allow him the peace to enjoy his meal in silence.”
Thor seems to take the hint, though there’s a flicker of confusion in his eyes as he nods. “Of course, Mother.”
But you notice the way he glances at Loki one last time before he turns his attention to you. He smiles, his usual warmth returning.
“It’s good to see you again, Princess,” Thor says, his voice easy and kind. “I trust you’ve settled in well?”
You smile back, grateful for the change of subject. “Yes, thank you, Thor. Asgard has been… more than welcoming.”
Loki stays silent, his fork moving absently as he pushes food around on his plate. You try not to let your gaze linger too long on him, but it’s difficult to ignore the way he seems to withdraw further with each passing moment.
Later, after the dinner has ended and the courtiers have dispersed, you find yourself walking the halls of the palace, your thoughts a tangled mess.
Loki’s behavior continues to trouble you. It’s clear that there’s something between him and Thor, something deep and unresolved. You can sense it in the way Loki acts when his brother is near, the way he retreats inward, shutting everyone else out.
And then there’s Odin. You’ve seen it too—the way the Allfather seems to favor Thor in ways that Loki could never seem to earn. The way Odin’s praise comes effortlessly to Thor, while Loki is left in the shadows, forced to fight for every scrap of recognition.
You’ve begun to notice the small things—the way Loki’s expression shifts when Odin speaks to Thor, or how he watches them both with an almost painful intensity when they stand together.
It’s hard to ignore the dynamic between them. Loki’s desire to prove himself to his father, to gain his approval in a way that seems perpetually out of reach, is something you can’t help but empathize with.
But you don’t know how to talk about it, how to approach him without making things worse.
That night, after the dinner, you retreat to your chambers, the silence of the room settling around you like a weight. Loki is already there, seated on the edge of the bed, his back to you as he stares out the window.
The flickering light from the torch on the wall casts shadows across his face, making his expression seem distant and closed off.
You hesitate in the doorway, unsure of what to say. But the longer you stand there, the more the words seem to push their way out.
“Loki,” you begin, your voice tentative, “I know things have been… difficult lately.”
Loki doesn’t turn around, but his shoulders tense at the sound of your voice. “Difficult? You mean the constant parade of Thor’s victories and Father’s adoration?” His words are sharp, laced with bitterness.
You step further into the room, your heart aching at the venom in his tone. “I didn’t mean it like that,” you say quietly. “But I can see it, Loki. I can see how much it hurts you.”
For a long moment, there’s nothing but silence. Then, Loki sighs deeply, rubbing his temples as if trying to stave off a headache.
“I don’t need your pity,” he mutters. “I don’t need anyone’s pity.”
You take a careful step closer, your voice soft. “I’m not pitying you, Loki. I’m just… I just don’t want you to feel alone in this.”
He laughs bitterly, his shoulders shaking as he turns to face you. “You think I don’t know that? You think I don’t understand what it’s like to be cast aside, to never be good enough no matter how hard you try?”
You swallow hard, your throat tight as you look at him. “I don’t know what that’s like,” you admit, “but I know what it’s like to feel like you’re constantly trying to prove yourself to someone who doesn’t even notice.”
Loki’s gaze flickers briefly to yours, and for a moment, there’s a crack in his armor. But it’s gone almost instantly, replaced by that familiar coldness.
“I don’t need your sympathy,” he repeats, though there’s less conviction in his voice.
“I’m not offering you sympathy,” you reply firmly. “I’m just saying… if you ever want to talk about it—about anything—I’m here, Loki.”
He stares at you for a long while, his eyes unreadable. And then, with a quiet sigh, he nods once, his voice barely above a whisper. “Thank you, princess. But I’m not ready to talk about it yet.”
You nod, though your heart aches at the weight of his words.
“I’ll be here when you are,” you say softly.
Loki doesn’t answer, but the silence that falls between you is… less heavy somehow. Less lonely.
You’re not sure what the future holds for the two of you, but in that moment, you both find a small measure of peace.
And for now, that’s enough.
The days following your conversation with Loki are a strange blend of light and shadow. The weight of your words lingers in the air between you two, but there’s an undeniable shift. It’s subtle, at first—a slight softening in the way he looks at you, a rare but meaningful smile that occasionally plays at the corners of his lips.
But it’s clear, too, that there are walls around him, walls that are not easily torn down. You don’t press him further, content to let him open up in his own time, if at all.
Then, one evening, when the palace is quiet and the rest of the court is engaged in a distant gathering, Loki surprises you.
You’re walking down one of the many hallways, heading back to your chambers after a rather dull meeting with various nobles, when you hear his voice.
“Princess,” he calls softly, his voice carrying through the silence of the corridor.
You turn to find him standing a little ways down the hall, leaning against the stone wall with his arms crossed. There’s something different in his stance—less guarded, more… open, though he still holds that impenetrable air around him.
You raise an eyebrow. “Loki? What’s the matter?”
He shifts, a subtle but noticeable tension in his posture as if he's deliberating whether or not to speak. Finally, after a beat of silence, he steps toward you, his footsteps soft on the stone floor.
“I… I’ve been thinking about our conversation,” he says, his voice quieter than usual.
You give him a careful look. “What about it?”
Loki glances down, avoiding your eyes for a moment before meeting your gaze. “About my father.” His voice tightens slightly, but it’s not the usual bitterness. It’s something more raw. “You were right. I… I’ve been carrying a lot of things for a long time.”
You wait, not wanting to interrupt, giving him space to speak.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever told anyone this, but…” Loki exhales slowly, his breath shaking as if he's letting something go for the first time. “I’ve never felt like I was enough for Odin. For my father. Not in the way Thor is. Not in the way that he needs me to be.”
You step closer, drawn in by the vulnerability in his voice. “Loki…”
He shakes his head, as if frustrated with himself. “I’ve always tried to do everything he wanted. Prove myself, be the son he wanted. But it’s never been enough. Every time I think I’m close to earning his favor, Thor does something. It doesn’t even matter what. Odin just… adores him.” Loki’s words come out with a sharpness, like they’ve been pent up for years, and yet there’s an unmistakable sadness there.
You want to reach out, to comfort him, but you don’t. Not yet.
“Thor…” Loki scoffs, though it’s not with malice—more a mixture of frustration and helplessness. “He doesn’t try. He just is. And Odin… he praises him for every little thing. Meanwhile, I’m left to pick up the pieces, to try to carve out a place for myself. But nothing ever works.”
A knot forms in your chest as you listen to him. It’s impossible to ignore how deeply Loki’s words cut, how much he craves the recognition and love he feels he’ll never receive.
“I know it’s not Thor’s fault,” Loki adds, almost as an afterthought, as if the words pain him. “But sometimes, I just… I can’t help but resent him.”
There’s an ache in his voice that hits you like a physical blow, and without thinking, you step forward and place a hand on his arm.
“You don’t have to explain yourself, Loki,” you say quietly. “I can see how much this hurts you.”
His eyes soften for just a moment, a flicker of something—something like gratitude—before the walls go back up. But it’s a start.
“I know you understand,” he mutters, his gaze dropping. “It’s just… hard to admit, even to myself.”
The silence between you two stretches, but it’s not uncomfortable. It feels like a shared understanding, an unspoken bond that has formed between you.
“You don’t have to carry it alone,” you say softly, stepping back a little but keeping your eyes on him.
Loki looks at you, his expression unreadable. Then, with a small, almost imperceptible nod, he gives you a faint smile. “Thank you.”
It’s more than he’s ever said to you in any of your interactions, and it makes your heart flutter, though you don’t show it.
“Anytime, Loki,” you reply, your voice steady, though your hands are trembling ever so slightly.
The next day, Odin makes his usual rounds through the court, his presence like a weight hanging over everyone. He speaks with courtiers, listens to reports from the generals, and gives out orders. But as usual, his praise for Thor is effusive, his voice rich with admiration.
It’s when you’re walking through the hall toward the council room that you catch the conversation between Odin and Thor. They’re speaking loudly enough for you to overhear, and you can’t help but wince as Odin lauds Thor’s latest achievement.
“Thor,” Odin says, his voice full of pride, “you’ve done the kingdom proud. Truly, your battle strategies are unmatched. I’m so glad to see you take your place as the leader Asgard needs.”
Thor laughs, clearly pleased, though there’s no sign of arrogance in him. “Thank you, Father. But I couldn’t have done it without the support of my allies.”
Odin waves off the sentiment with a chuckle, his voice warm. “Your humility is one of your finest qualities, my son.”
And that’s when it hits you—how blatant the favoritism is. How obvious it is that Odin is always quick to praise Thor, but Loki, despite his brilliance, is always left in the shadows.
Your chest tightens with the unfairness of it all. You’ve heard whispers before—how Odin has always placed Thor on a pedestal, how his approval has always been out of reach for Loki.
You’ve seen it yourself, in the way Odin looks at his sons. Thor, with his easy smiles and loud boisterousness, is clearly the favored one. Loki’s quieter, more calculating nature doesn’t seem to earn him that same adoration.
And something inside you snaps.
You’ve had enough of watching Loki suffer in silence. Enough of the obvious bias that Odin so openly displays.
With a deep breath, you step forward, deliberately interrupting the conversation between father and son.
“Lord Odin,” you say, your voice steady and louder than you expect. Both Odin and Thor turn toward you, surprised by your sudden interruption.
Odin’s eyes flicker over you, but his expression remains neutral. “Princess,” he greets, his tone polite but distant. “What is it you need?”
You take a step closer, finding the courage you’ve never had before to speak your mind. “I think it’s time someone pointed out something that’s been bothering me for some time,” you say, meeting Odin’s eyes with unwavering resolve.
Thor looks at you, clearly surprised, but Odin’s expression doesn’t change.
“I’ve noticed,” you continue, “that you never seem to acknowledge your sons equally. You give Thor praise, constantly sing his virtues, while Loki…” You glance over at him, who stands with his arms crossed, looking more uncomfortable than usual. “Loki deserves the same recognition, and it’s time someone said it.”
Thor’s eyes widen at your words, and Odin’s gaze sharpens, though he doesn’t immediately respond.
“Princess, this is a matter between my sons and I,” Odin says, his tone calm but with an edge that warns you to back down.
But you don’t. “It’s a matter of fairness,” you say, your voice unshaken. “Loki is just as capable, just as brilliant, and he deserves the same respect as Thor.”
For a long moment, there’s silence, a heavy, thick silence that seems to hang in the air. Odin’s eyes study you carefully, as if deciding whether or not to chastise you.
But then, to your surprise, he lets out a slow breath. “Perhaps you are right,” he says, his voice thoughtful, though still carrying the weight of authority. “I will consider your words, Princess.”
You nod, your heart pounding in your chest as you turn to leave. You know you’ve probably made a powerful enemy, but for once, it feels worth it.
As you walk away, you can’t help but glance back at Loki, who is now watching you with a look of surprise—and something else, something softer.
Later that night, you’re in your chambers, lost in your thoughts when a quiet knock at the door pulls you from your reverie.
You open it to find Loki standing there, his usual composed demeanor in place, though there’s something different in his expression.
“Loki,” you say, surprised to see him. “What’s wrong?”
“I wanted to thank you,” he says, his voice low and sincere. “You didn’t have to do that. But you did.”
You shrug, trying to appear casual despite the flutter in your chest. “It was the right thing to do.”
“I know,” he replies, his tone soft. “But that doesn’t make it any less… meaningful.” He hesitates, then takes a step closer, his eyes meeting yours. “You’ve… you’ve done more for me today than anyone has in a long time.”
The words settle between you, and for a moment, everything is quiet.
You don’t know what to say. But somehow, it doesn’t matter. The air between you is charged, but calm, like a storm that’s waiting to break.
And then, without thinking, you step forward, closing the distance between you.
Loki’s breath catches slightly, but he doesn’t pull away. His hand brushes yours, tentative but warm, and that’s when you both understand.
You look into each other’s eyes for a moment, the words unsaid but understood, and then you kiss—softly, tenderly, as if this moment, this connection, is something you both desperately need but never quite expected.
It’s gentle, quiet, and everything in between, and for the first time in a long time, you feel as though the walls between you are starting to fall.
The day after you stood up to Odin, something subtle but undeniable changes between you and Loki. The lingering tension that had once surrounded him, the cold barrier he had erected between himself and everyone, especially you, seems to soften just slightly. He still wears that aloof mask he’s perfected over years of deflecting people’s attention, but there are moments when he looks at you differently—like he sees you, really sees you, as something more than just the princess he was supposed to marry.
But of course, Loki is Loki, and despite the small shifts, he’s still a master of maintaining distance. He keeps his emotions locked away as tightly as his wit, but you’ve begun to notice the cracks. Maybe it’s in the way he lingers a little longer when you’re together, or how he catches your gaze in passing, holding it just a little longer than necessary.
Despite the changes between you two, the world around you continues to spin, and your role as the Princess of Asgard, as Loki’s wife, only grows more public.
The next day, after an awkward breakfast with Frigga, where she kept giving you knowing looks and you were pretty sure you heard her suppressing a sigh, you find yourself walking through the gardens, trying to escape the subtle whispers of court life.
As you stroll among the flowers, you hear footsteps behind you. A familiar, booming voice calls your name.
“Princess Y/N,” Thor’s deep voice rings out, and you stop, turning to face him.
Thor looks even more like the golden child of Asgard today, his wide smile blinding and a glimmer of guilt in his eyes. “I’ve been meaning to thank you, for what you did yesterday. Defending Loki like that.”
You tilt your head, puzzled. “What do you mean?”
“I never saw it, you know?” He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. “The way Father favors me and how much it’s hurt Loki. I’ve always thought he was… I don’t know, distant, difficult. I didn’t realize I was a part of the problem.”
You blink, a little surprised by his sincerity. You’ve never seen Thor look so humble, so… vulnerable. It’s a stark contrast to the loud, boisterous warrior he usually presents to the world. “You didn’t know?” you ask softly.
He shakes his head, his broad shoulders slumping a little. “No, not really. And I’m ashamed to admit it. But I never thought about how he might feel when all the praise I get… it takes away from what he deserves. Loki’s clever, more than anyone gives him credit for. I see it now. I see how I’ve made him feel… less.”
Your heart aches a little. There’s so much more to Thor than the world gives him credit for, and perhaps there’s more to Loki’s pain than you even realized.
“Thor,” you start, your voice a little unsure but kind. “I think you need to tell him that. He needs to hear it from you.”
Thor gives a tight nod, the look in his eyes both heavy and sincere. “I will. But… I wanted to talk to you first, because I didn’t want you to think that I… I didn’t care.” He pauses, as if weighing his next words carefully. “I know you’re in a difficult position, Y/N, especially with Loki…”
You shrug lightly. “It’s not difficult. He’s my husband, Thor. I have a duty to him, yes, but I also want to see him happy. I don’t want him to feel this way anymore, either.”
“I understand,” Thor says with a soft smile. “And I promise you, I’ll try to make things right between me and Loki. But thank you. Truly.”
He offers a warm, brotherly smile and pats you on the shoulder, making you smile back, a little touched by the earnestness in his voice. It’s rare to see Thor so serious, but in moments like this, you realize just how much he cares about his family—even if it’s a little too late.
As the conversation dies down, Thor bids you farewell, walking off in the opposite direction to presumably find his brother. You remain in the gardens for a few more minutes, deep in thought. There’s a strange, almost bittersweet tension in the air now, an unspoken understanding of the dynamic between the brothers.
The next day, you find yourself walking the palace halls when you catch sight of Loki. He’s talking to a group of Asgardian nobles, but the moment he notices you, his demeanor shifts instantly. His sharp, emerald eyes cut toward you, his mouth forming a thin line. He says something to the nobles, and they scatter quickly, leaving him alone in the corridor.
You pause for a moment, unsure of how to approach him. But before you can decide, Loki walks toward you, his footsteps purposeful. You can feel the chill of his presence before he even speaks.
“What was that, then?” Loki’s voice is cool, his usual aloofness cloaking his words.
You raise an eyebrow. “What are you talking about?”
His eyes narrow. “You and Thor,” he sneers slightly, as though saying his brother’s name leaves a bitter taste in his mouth. “You two spent an awfully long time together yesterday, didn’t you? Talking about me, no doubt. What was it this time? His concern for my well-being?”
You bite your lip, taking in the sharp edge of jealousy in his voice. You feel a slight pang of guilt, but you stand your ground. “We talked about you, yes. But it wasn’t to criticize you, Loki. It was about… understanding.”
Loki scoffs, crossing his arms tightly over his chest, and his gaze shifts toward the floor. “I see. Understanding.”
“You don’t have to do this,” you say, your voice softer now. “You don’t have to push everyone away. Not me. Not him.”
Loki’s head jerks up, and his eyes flash with something unreadable. “I push people away because I know how this ends, Y/N. Thor always takes what he wants. He took Father’s love, and now he wants to take you, too.”
The words hit you harder than you expect, the raw, vulnerable emotion in his voice twisting something deep inside you. You take a step toward him, but he recoils slightly, his posture rigid.
“You don’t have to be afraid of that,” you say, your voice barely a whisper, but there’s certainty in it. “Thor won’t take me from you. I won’t let him.”
Loki’s eyes flicker toward you, the flickering of something darker in his gaze before he presses his lips together in frustration. “How can you be so sure?” His voice cracks slightly, and you don’t know how to respond, except to step even closer to him.
His face softens for a fraction of a second—just long enough for you to see how fragile he really is, how deeply the idea of losing you, losing anything, is etched in him. You place a hand gently on his arm, your voice even softer now.
“I know because we talked. Thor and I. He knows the way you feel, Loki. He’s going to make things right between you two. You don’t have to push him away.”
Loki’s jaw tightens, and you can see the battle within him, the struggle to trust his brother again. But then, something shifts in him, and his gaze softens, if only for a moment.
“I don’t want to lose you,” Loki admits in a low voice, the words barely audible, as though he’s afraid of speaking them too loud, afraid of what they might mean.
You reach up, gently cupping his cheek, your thumb brushing lightly over his skin, and he leans into your touch. “You won’t lose me, Loki. I’m not going anywhere.” Your voice is steady, and you see his breath hitch slightly as his emotions threaten to overwhelm him.
He looks away quickly, his throat tightening, but the tremor in his shoulders betrays him. “I don’t deserve you,” he mutters, barely holding it together.
“Don’t say that,” you reply firmly. “You’re not perfect. None of us are. But you deserve all the love and respect in the world. And I’m here, Loki. Always.”
He looks at you then, his expression softening with that familiar vulnerability you’ve seen fleetingly in the past few days, but it’s stronger now, more present than ever before. Without thinking, you pull him into an embrace, wrapping your arms around him tightly. For a long moment, he doesn’t respond, his body stiff in your arms, but then he exhales slowly, his breath shaky, and finally, he holds you back.
The weight of everything between you two finally lifts, and the walls crumble a little more. The steady rhythm of his breathing in your arms is all you need to know that he feels safe.
Later that night, when you retire to your chambers, Loki follows you, a quiet presence in the doorway.
You look at him, feeling something deep inside you—a need for closeness, for reassurance that everything will be okay. “Stay with me?” you ask softly, and for the first time in what feels like forever, you see something like relief wash over his face.
“I don’t think I can ever go back,” he says quietly, his voice laced with exhaustion, vulnerability.
You reach for him, and without another word, Loki walks into your arms, settling beside you on the bed. You pull the blankets up around both of you, and without a word, you curl up against him.
His arm drapes around you naturally, and you breathe in the warmth of his presence, the security of knowing that, no matter what happens, you
’ve found something real between you two.
“Thank you,” Loki murmurs softly, as if you’ve given him everything he’s ever wanted, even when you haven’t fully realized it yourself.
You smile, tracing circles on his chest with your fingers, whispering back, “No need for thanks. Just stay here, with me.”
The night deepens, and the world outside your chambers is cloaked in quiet, but inside, there’s an unmistakable warmth that envelopes both of you. Loki’s arm around you feels like the most natural thing in the world. As the minutes pass, you rest your head against his chest, listening to the rhythmic thrum of his heartbeat beneath your ear. There’s a comfort in the silence, in just being close to him. You feel safe here, as if this moment is yours and yours alone, something you both can keep in the quiet intimacy of the night.
Loki doesn’t speak, but the occasional brush of his lips against your temple is all the words you need. Each kiss is a small promise, gentle and soft, as though he’s trying to tell you everything his voice cannot. The warmth of his lips against your skin lingers long after he pulls back, and the weight of the past few months—the distance, the uncertainty, the doubts—slowly begins to dissolve. You realize now that it was never about the marriage contract, nor the obligations that bound you together; it was about this—this connection between the two of you that had always been there, waiting for the right moment to surface.
You kiss him back, tentatively at first, but as you feel him pull you closer, your kisses deepen. They’re slow and deliberate, as though you both want to savor this, to make sure it isn’t just a fleeting moment but a beginning. His lips are warm and soft, and every time they meet yours, there’s a spark—a connection that has been years in the making, one that now feels as though it’s blooming into something beautiful, fragile, and new.
The kisses grow longer, more meaningful, as if both of you are learning how to express the things you’ve kept hidden for so long. Loki’s hand gently cradles your face, his thumb tracing the line of your jaw, as if memorizing the feel of your skin. He deepens the kiss slightly, and you meet him with equal fervor, the world outside fading away until there’s nothing left but the two of you, tangled in the quiet intimacy of shared tenderness.
When the kiss finally breaks, neither of you moves, just breathing in the same air. Loki’s forehead rests gently against yours, and you can feel the warmth of his breath, still heavy with emotion.
“Stay here,” he murmurs, his voice low and filled with something you can’t quite put into words. It’s a question, but more than that, it’s a plea—a quiet request for this peace to last.
“I will,” you reply softly, your hand resting on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart under your palm. And you mean it, more than anything. You know that, in this moment, everything between you has changed.
The night goes on quietly, both of you finding comfort in each other’s presence, the soft and tender kisses gradually fading into the warmth of shared silence. It’s a perfect peace, a moment of vulnerability and connection that neither of you had ever expected but now can’t imagine living without.
As the days pass, the dynamic between you and Loki shifts. What once seemed like a forced relationship, something borne out of duty and circumstance, is now something more. The distance that once existed between you two has shrunk, replaced by an ease that only comes when two people begin to trust each other in ways neither expected. Your interactions are now filled with light touches, shared glances, and quiet smiles. There’s a softness in Loki’s demeanor that wasn’t there before—a gentleness that’s slowly replacing the walls he’s built around himself.
You see it in the way he looks at you, the way he seeks out your presence even when there’s no need for it. There’s an undeniable shift in his behavior, one that others notice, too.
Frigga, ever observant, notices the change in the air the moment she steps into the palace halls. She smiles knowingly when she sees the way Loki watches you during breakfast, his eyes soft and full of affection. It’s the first time she’s seen him like this in a long while—less guarded, more present. She watches you both from across the room, her heart swelling with a mix of pride and relief. For all the missteps and misunderstandings, she’s always known that the two of you could find something real.
Thor, too, sees the change, though he’s not as subtle in his observations. He slaps Loki on the back one afternoon, his booming laugh echoing through the palace halls. “Well, well! Looks like someone’s finally figured it out,” he teases, a wide grin plastered on his face.
Loki stiffens at first, but then the corner of his lips quirks up, a smirk that’s less mocking and more content than it’s ever been. “What do you mean?” Loki asks, raising an eyebrow.
“Don’t play coy,” Thor says, his tone playful. “I’ve seen the way you look at her. It’s about time, brother.”
Loki sighs, rolling his eyes dramatically. “I’m not in the mood for your commentary, Thor.”
But even as he says this, there’s a subtle flush to his cheeks, a fleeting moment of embarrassment that makes you chuckle softly. Loki’s pride may be as sharp as ever, but there’s a vulnerability there too, one that he tries to hide behind his biting sarcasm and quick wit.
As the days go by, your connection to Loki only deepens. The two of you spend more time together, finding moments of quiet solace amid the chaos of palace life. You talk—about everything and nothing at all. You learn more about each other in those quiet, unspoken moments than you ever did in the months before. It’s in the way he brushes your hair out of your face when it falls in your eyes or how he looks at you when you laugh at something absurd he says. It’s in the way he remembers small details about you, like the way you take your tea or how you always tie your shoes in the same knot.
The change doesn’t go unnoticed by the people around you. The courtiers whisper about it, the nobles gossip behind their fans. They notice the way Loki looks at you when you enter the room, how his eyes soften when you speak. They notice how the two of you sit together at dinner, heads close, sharing small private jokes no one else seems to understand. The shift in the way he treats you is almost palpable, and it doesn’t take long for the rest of the palace to catch on.
But the real surprise comes from the children.
It starts innocently enough. One evening, as you walk through the palace gardens with Loki, you hear giggling in the distance. When you look around, you see a group of young children playing near the fountain. They stop as soon as they notice you, eyes widening before they run over to you, their faces alight with excitement.
“Princess Y/N!” one of them exclaims, a little girl with bright red hair. “Is it true that you and Prince Loki are really married now?”
You raise an eyebrow, surprised by the question, but before you can answer, another child chimes in.
“Yes! I heard you two are so in love!” The child’s voice is full of awe, as though this is the most magical thing they’ve ever heard.
Loki scoffs, but there’s a teasing glint in his eyes. “I assure you, we’re simply fulfilling our duties. Nothing more.”
But the children aren’t convinced. They gather around you, bombarding you with questions. “When will you have babies?” one of them asks innocently.
You blush deeply, not quite sure how to handle the question. Loki looks absolutely mortified, but there’s an amused edge to his expression.
“Well,” you start, unsure of what to say, “we haven’t really discussed that yet. But we’re very happy.”
“Oh, I bet you are!” another child giggles, clearly not taking you seriously. “You two are always together now. You must be so in love!”
Loki looks at you in mild horror. “What have we gotten ourselves into?”
You laugh, feeling the warmth in your chest spread. “I think we’ve just become a fairytale, Loki.”
The children’s excitement doesn’t end there. The next day, they’re playing again, this time reenacting your supposed “love story” with elaborate costumes. They insist on calling you and Loki the “Royal Lovers of Asgard,” and you can’t help but smile at their innocent enthusiasm. It’s impossible not to see the joy they find in the idea of your relationship, an idea that, in their eyes, is full of magic and wonder. The way they view you both—so wrapped up in this imagined romance—is innocent and sweet, and it makes you realize how far you and Loki have come.
As the days go by, the children’s stories spread throughout the palace. The courtiers begin whispering more frequently about the Royal Lovers, and soon enough, even the servants are in on the tale. You and Loki have become the subject of countless stories, both real and imagined. The court’s expectations of your relationship have shifted, but for the first time, it feels like you’re not just playing a part anymore. You’re both actively shaping this life, together.
And for all the teasing from Thor and the gossips from the children, there’s a part of you that feels proud of what you’ve built. It may have started as a duty, a contract forged by fate, but now it feels like something more. You and Loki are no longer bound by obligation alone. There’s affection, there’s trust, and there’s something deeper—something far more real.
It’s not the fairytale the kingdom expected, but it’s yours. And somehow, that feels perfect.

part one
Tumblr media
it had been only a few days ever since you overheard loki speak with thor about you. you had moved into your new room and you were comfortable. but even then, you wouldn’t and couldn’t lie to yourself and say you didn’t miss him to death.
you sat up on your bed, unable to sleep yet again tonight. you found yourself reminiscing of all those things he did that you mistook for habits. your hand ran towards the empty pillow besides yours. you missed him like crazy, but those words of his wouldn’t leave your mind. you still couldn’t believe how he proudly admitted to playing with your feelings, and how cold he seemed. you have been distant ever since. completely ignoring his existence. you wanted nothing to do with him, and everyone could tell.
you decided something to drink could help. you stood up from your bed and left your room to find yourself something to help you relax. you walked into the kitchen and began looking for any sort of tea that could help you sleep at least a few hours tonight. you sighed in pure exhaustion as you continued to look in the dark. after a few minutes of endless searching, the lights of the kitchen suddenly switched on. you almost jumped, startled.
you turned around, ready to joke with whoever turned the light on. yet all you did was frown at the sight of loki. of the man who had just broken your heart into pieces only a few days back. you took in his appearance, his messy long hair, dressed in casual clothing, it was such a nice sight. a sight you used to adore but now only caused you pain. you sighed and turned around yet again, continuing to find yourself something soothing to drink.
loki let out a sigh behind you, walking closer. he stood by the end of the counter, as he watched your every move, confused as to why you were suddenly ignoring him.
“love?” loki called out, and goosebumps covered your skin. you hated the effect he easily had on you. you ignored his call entirely. “darling, what’s going on?” he asked, shamelessly. you almost chuckled, whilst you started to heat up water in a pot. loki sighed deeper, not understanding why you seemed so distant.
“y/n.” he said sternly, but ignored yet again. he walked closer to you, now grabbing your arm, to gain your attention. “y/n—“
“don’t touch me.” you spat at him, removing his hands off you, in both anger and sadness. he stared at you in disbelief.
“have i done something? why do you act this way towards me, love?” he asked, and you almost wanted to hit him. did he really not know? you shook your head, amazed by him.
“why do you care so much for someone you’re only having fun with, huh?” you asked, crossing your arms infront of your chest. you were tired of his lies. loki tilted his head, confused, furrowing his eyebrows.
“love, what are you—”
“anyone must be insane to believe you’d settle with me of all people.” you continued, until he seemed to have realized what you were talking about.
“you heard.”
“i heard.” you replied, drily. loki sighed deeply, before looking back into your pained eyes. you turned around yet again, to continue what you were doing.
“dear—“
“stop calling me that. stop talking to me as if i’m stupid.” you interrupted him. loki took a deep breath, trying to find the words to possibly calm you down.
“y/n.” he said, dropping all the nicknames all together. “you have it all wrong. believe me, i—”
“you what, loki? you love me? oh, please, you can’t think i’d actually believe that.” you laughed, turning to look at him, his expression further saddening but you couldn’t care less.
“y/n. listen to me, won’t you?” loki attempted to say, his hands trying to find their place in your waist, yet you pulled away from him again. “come back to our room. let’s talk this out.” he tried convincing you.
“i mean absolutely nothing to you, laufeyson. nothing.” you painfully admitted. “i am simply someone you can screw around with whenever you’re bored. i’m nothing more or nothing less to you.” you continued, loki shook his head, disagreeing with you.
“so i won’t burden you any longer— hell, you probably only came to look for me because you wanted someone to sleep with, didn’t you?” you finished, turning around again to continue what you came for. loki stood behind you, as if frozen in place, not knowing what to do or what to say. his hand started to reach out again, needing to feel you, to hug you and beg you to come back to him. but his pride got the best of him. he pulled his hands back and began walking away from you.
“very well.” was the last thing he said, before he walked back into his room, leaving you all alone in the kitchen.
“oh, my god.” you whispered, leaning against the counter, now trying to catch your breath. it took everything in you to not forgive him and hug him. you didn’t even realize your hands were shaking until you tried pouring the hot water into a pot, and failed. maybe it was best you didn’t drink anything that night.
=============
“you clean up nicely.” tony remarked, as you walked into the party. you let out a small giggle, shaking your head. the avengers had planned a party, to celebrate all their recent victories. you were excited for it. it had been so long since you last spoke to loki. it was painful to say the least.
it now seemed as if he didn’t care about you anymore. you’d catch him staring at you here and there, but his eyes were not full of love like before. you could only see anger and even confusion at times.
but loki. he was suffering as he watched you from a far, being so happy without him. god, it was eating him alive. he felt insane. he couldn’t understand why you seemed to be doing so well without him. how could you? when he’s helpless without you? but he would never admit his feelings for you. he wouldn’t dare speak to you.
but even then, loki couldn’t prevent his eyes from widening at the sight of you. the sight of his woman, looking as gorgeous as ever. your beauty was intense. his jaw clenched, as he leaned against the bar, watching your every move. and you knew of this. you could feel his eyes as if they were his beloved daggers. yet your thoughts were interrupted by pietro, laying his hand on your lower waist.
loki let out a breathless, bitter chuckle. who does this boy think he is? loki grabbed his cup of whiskey and drank the entirely of it, soon ordering yet another glass, his eyes still glued to you.
“you look beautiful.” pietro whispered in your ear, and you couldn’t help but blush. it has been so long since you were last complimented on your appearance. it wasn’t even close to how loki seemed to worship you back then, but those were probably lies, right?
“are you alone tonight, darling?” pietro asked yet again. you nodded gently, looking into his eyes. he smiled widely and shook his head, leaning once again to whisper in your ear.
“not anymore.”
you giggled, softly hitting his arm. he chuckled at your loveliness and looked at the others, trying to catch up on their conversation. you grinned softly, completely oblivious to the jealous loki watching you from afar.
“lovely couple.” thor broke loki’s silence, followed by a mocking chuckle, sitting next to him at the bar. “don’t you think?” he asked, whilst ordering his own glass.
loki stayed completely quiet, not daring to look away.
“he seems to compliment her quite well...” thor continued, looking at his brother besides him. he watched as loki’s expression changed all together.
“brother—“
“it wouldn’t surprise me if pietro’s currently pursuing her. it’s slightly obvious.” thor interrupted loki, who seemed to be getting more uncomfortable by the minute.
“i mean, she is a gorgeous woman—”
“stop it, will you?” loki finally spoke, his hands massaging his temples in frustration. thor chuckled softly, taking a small sip of his glass, amused by his brother’s stubbornness.
“what is it?” thor said after some minutes of silence, a bit worried for his brother. loki had never acted this way. loki let out a big sigh, meeting thor’s eyes for the first time.
“i simply—“
“you’re in love with her.” thor said, shrugging his shoulders, as if it was obvious. loki widen his eyes, almost shocked. was it truly that obvious? were his feelings that apparent? can’t be… because if they were, why didn’t you notice? if they were, why were you here with pietro tonight? loki looked back at you, his eyes pained as he watched you enjoying yourself at the presence of another person that wasn’t him.
“i don’t know what it is you’re talking about.”
“won’t you stop being dishonest with yourself?” thor said, somewhat annoyed by loki’s obliviousness. loki looked at thor once again, his eyes full of confusion and sadness.
“i can tell, brother. how smitten you are with her. we all can.” thor declared, finishing his drink. he let out an exhausted sigh before continuing. “you’re the only one who still hasn’t realized it.”
“i—” loki started, his eyes going back to your figure, dancing with pietro in the dance floor. his heart sinking whenever you’d smile, his hands sweating in nervousness. “i don’t know what to do.” loki confessed, dropping his head in defeat. thor listened closely.
“I don’t know how to alleviate— i just— don’t know how to fix this.” loki shook his head, as he remembered the things he said, and how hurt you were because of him. “i haven’t got a clue on what to do to get her back.”
“mhm…” thor hummed, as if thinking before speaking up soon after. “have you ever heard of apologizing?” thor joked, earning a deadly look from the god. thor raised his arms in defense, chuckling. “i’m just saying, brother. an apology can do so much… and your confession.” thor said, loki looked at his brother, nodding his head in agreement. thor offered him a small smile, before tapping his shoulder.
“you must hurry, before you genuinely lose her.” thor finished, before walking away, leaving loki all alone. loki let out a breath, he didn’t know he was holding and nodded his head. he needed to speak to you. he needed to get you back.
he kept watching you. waiting for the perfect moment to snatch you away. yet pietro was by your side all night. it was so angering and bothersome to loki. his moment soon came though, when you excused yourself. you needed some fresh air, your social battery was already running out.
you offered smiles as you walked through the party, there were more people than you expected. you let out a thankful sigh as soon as you officially walked out of the party, towards the foyer. the air was cold. causing you to softly hug yourself, seeking warmth. you closed your eyes, finally feeling peace and enjoying the quiet. you didn’t even feel the presence of loki, before he softly spoke up.
“hiding from your date?” loki gently said, breaking the silence. you almost jumped by the sudden sound of his voice. you offered him a small smile, before going back to looking upfront, shaking your head.
“just needed some fresh air.” you simply replied, licking your dry lips. loki nodded, still keeping his place close behind you. he could smell your sweet perfume, you were wearing his favorite.
“why are you with him tonight?” loki finally asked, somewhat terrified of your answer. you looked back him, confused.
“why do you care?” you asked.
“answer me, y/n.” loki pleaded. you furrowed your eyebrows, fully turning around and facing him. you tilted your head in confusion.
“because he seems to care for me, and—”
“and i don’t?”
“w—what?” you asked, baffled by his words. “no, loki. you don’t.” you confirmed, looking deeply into his eyes. loki scoffed a grin, bewildered by your stupid response. how could you ever think like that? when he loved you so?
“you must have lost your mind.” loki mumbled, shaking his head. that stupid grin of his still plastered on his face. you bit your lip, angrily. “you know i do, y/n.”
“do i?” you asked, tears beginning to well up in your eyes. “do i really? you never tell me anything, how am i supposed to be so sure of that?”
“y/n—” loki started, now walking closer to you, his hands reaching out to lay on their place on your soft cheeks, yet you pulled back from him. his eyes looked at you, shocked and hurt. “please. let me show you.” he almost begged. you sniffled, trying to decide on whether letting him touch you. after a while, you nodded.
loki placed his hands on your cheeks, his thumb softly caressing your shiny skin as he admired you. it had been so long since he had actually looked at you. so long since he had the privilege to touch you and even breathe the same air as you. he locked eyes with you once again and spoke up.
“of course i care for you. there’s absolutely no one else in this or in any universe that i care for and that matters to me more than you.” loki confessed, and you froze in place. you couldn’t believe this was happening. you couldn’t believe the words that were leaving his mouth.
“but then, why— why would you—”
“i don’t know why i’d say something like that. i truthfully— please believe me when i say that i didn’t mean any of that.” loki interrupted you, his hand softly removing a piece of hair from your face. you sighed shakily as you listened to him.
“i just don’t understand…” you whispered. “if you really care, then why would you say something like that? why wouldn’t you want to be with me?” you asked, your voice breaking mid sentence. loki felt his heart breaking into a million pieces as he watched the tears leave your eyes.
“oh, love.” loki said softly, almost in a whisper as he tried drying your endless tears. “i— i’m terrified.” loki confessed, his hands dropping gently to his sides, and stepping back from you, giving you your space. you looked at him through your watery eyes.
“of what?”
“i’m in love with you.” loki bluntly confessed. and you froze in place. he was… what? loki bit his bottom lip, his hands starting to sweat. he even looked shocked himself by his sudden confession. you could even see his chest sinking, trying to find his breath.
“i want you— i’ve wanted you for so long. i can rarely breath whenever you’re not besides me. i feel at ease by simply hearing you breathe.” loki rumbled, his hands running through his hair anxiously.
“i just— i wasn’t sure of how you felt, hell, i wasn’t sure of how i felt.” loki continued.
“loki…” you started, taking a cautious step closer to him.
“no one has ever loved me or has ever treated me the way you have and.. i am simply horrified of losing… this, by my greed. i— want more. i—”
“i love you. i— i do. there’s not a day i haven’t not loved you. i— i love you so much that it can’t even begin to be described. so much that i could and would die from it.” loki continued and yet, you couldn’t move. you just listened to his words, letting him let it all out.
“however… i don’t deserve it. i don’t deserve you. i’m aware of that.” loki said softly, so sadly it brought tears to yours eyes yet again. “how could you ever feel anything asides from hate for someone like me?” loki chuckled, and you were at the verge of tears. it hurt so bad, seeing the man you love be so insecure and overall love starved, to the point where he actually believes he’s unlovable.
“loki— listen to me, will you?” you almost whispered, closing the space between the two of you. your hands ran to his cheeks, cupping his handsome face. his pained expression pulling at your heart strings.
“i’m being selfish, y/n, i acknowledge that. but i realized i can’t live without you. my world has no meaning if you’re not in it, but i can’t— you don’t deserve this.” loki almost sobbed in your hands, closing his eyes, trying his hardest to remain strong. you couldn’t breathe by watching the man you loved so much be so vulnerable, and all for you.
“i love you.” you gently started, your thumbs stroking his soft skin. you heard as loki took a shaky breath, his hands hovering over your body, as if scared to touch you. his eyes starting to water as he looked back into your gorgeous eyes.
“i’ve loved you ever since i first laid my eyes on you.” you continued, and watched as loki closed his eyes again, a small tear leaving his eyes.
“i’m sorry.” loki apologized, already in tears and you couldn’t help but hug your gentle giant.
“i know. it’s alright.” you consoled him, your hand stroking his back lovingly as he cried in your shoulder.
“but never say or do anything that stupid ever again.” you joked, earning a small grin from loki, who only nodded desperately.
“y/n.” loki spoke, after pulling away from your hug and now looking directly into your eyes. “are—are you sure? of this? of us?” he asked insecurely, and it made you frown deeper.
“loki—”
“do you understand all the danger there is to being by my side? i’m not a hero, y/n, i will never be and i just— i don’t want to ruin any perception you could have of me.” loki said, his voice full of anxiety. you placed your hand in his cheek yet again, and leaned in to finally kiss your man.
you heard his breathe hitch as you placed your soft lips on top of his. you kissed loki sweetly, intending to communicate all of your feelings for him in one simple kiss. soon enough, loki finally placed his hands on your waist, comfortable and confident enough to touch you. his tongue soon entered your mouth, now fully tasting you. the kiss lasted a few minutes, and you didn’t want it to end. you didn’t know how much you loved kissing loki, until you were deprived of it for so long. you soon pulled away, resting your head on his.
“i love and want you, loki. not a perception. i want you because you’re you.” you said gently, as to comfort him. he sighed softly, only listening to what you had to say.
“i don’t know what you’ve been through, that has caused you to think like this, but you deserve all the love in this world, and i’m honored to finally give it to you.” you continued, placing a sweet kiss to his cheek, earning a shy smile from the god. “please let me continue loving you, loki laufeyson.”
loki didn’t even have to answer. he just wrapped his arms around you, engulfing you into a loving hug. you giggled softly, returning the hug. you caressed his back lovingly, as loki finally realized you were his. his woman, the love of his life. he found himself smiling knowing that his insecurities didn’t win, and here he was, hugging the love of his life. loki soon pulled away, looking into your sweet eyes.
“pietro.”
“pietro…?” you repeated, confused.
“if he ever dares to lay his dirty hands on you again, i swear—” loki was interrupted by your laughter. he couldn’t help the smile that appeared on his face as he heard you laugh, but this time because of him.
“i’m serious, darling. watching him shamelessly flirt with you has been torture these part few weeks. i will not stand it any longer.” loki said, shaking his head. you giggled, nodding your head.
“you deserved it.” you joked, loki smirking at your comment.
“i did.” loki said, softly pecking your lips lovingly.
“yes, i did.”

|| Why Are You Never Real ||
Pairing: Bucky x female reader (Eleanor//Elena)) || Bucky x Loki Summary: In 1943, 24 year old Eleanor gets set up on a blind date with Bucky Barnes. The match is so perfect, it was written in the stars. Yes, they're soulmates. Unfortunately, HYDRA gets in the way- taking the perfect life away from the two. But what if fate was so certain, it gave them another chance to be together?
Warnings: Fluff and angst off the charts (I'm so sorry!). Some cursing- but very little.
Word Count: 5.8k A/Ns: So a few things inspired this fic; First, someone requested something similar to this about a year ago. The idea stuck with me (although it was originally about the love interest being on ice also). I can't find the message of the person who requested, so if you come across this & it was you, please let me know so I can give you credit! Second, I saw a TikTok of Bucky & Loki and I've been obsessed with bringing the two together. Last but not least, I'm one of those that is constantly blasting Sleep Token- so in combination with all of these things, the song: The Apparition was also inspiring. Let me know what you think!

1943
It was Labor Day weekend, and anybody who's anybody knows that's when the carnival came to town. Not only was it the official end to the hot New York summers, but it was an escape from everything having to do with the ongoing War. It was a reprieve for the children, to go out and experience some lighthearted fun. But mostly, the carnival lured the young adult crowd like a gullible captain to a siren in the sea.
Eleanor was twenty-four, still living comfortably at home with her parents and four younger siblings. While she helped take care of her siblings, the passive comments about how she was unmarried and reaching her prime age to start a family never failed to be brought up in daily conversations in their household. It wasn't for a lack of suitors. Plenty of men had asked her on dates, a few even so bold enough to offer marriage without so much as going for a stroll in the park. But for Eleanor, it wasn't just about picking a random man to build a life with. She dreamed of a true romance, just like the ones she would get so lost in while reading her books- and eventually starting a family out of love and not necessity or by society's regards.
While she had already made plans to meet up with her girlfriends on Saturday night at the carnival, her mother had a different idea- A blind date.
Eleanor had intriguingly spent the afternoon with her hair in curlers and ironing her favorite yellow summer dress, the one with white polka dots and matching heels. It would perfectly accent the slight tan she obtained from the few times she snuck to the beach on the outskirts of the city to dig her toes in the sand and lay in the scorching sun. As her typical primping time took a little longer than usual in anticipation for the blind date, Eleanor’s mind kept getting swept up in who the possible mystery man could be. Was it someone she knew? A family friend? What did he look like? Was he short or tall? Does he have a sense of humor? Sure, she of course curious if he was handsome. But that was never her main focus. Eleanor wanted someone who could make her laugh- someone that was playful and knew how to have fun. But a pretty face was definitely a bonus. Opening the front door and stepping out into the Summer’s relentless humidity, she was met with none other than Bucky Barnes- Brooklyn's most notorious flirt and former high school crush. He leaned casually against the railing of the front steps, dressed in an olive-green Class A's uniform wearing a smug smile.
"Ready for our date, Doll?" After initially closing the door in his face in a panic, Eleanor's mother pleaded with her to try and give him a chance. Rumor amongst the women on the block was that he was looking for a wife. She rambled off the typical list of how handsome he was, how he came from a good family, and the cherry on top of the guilt pie: he had just enlisted in the Army and was leaving in just a few short weeks for basic training. Who knows when he will come back home, if at all? Could one date really be so bad?
Tumblr media
Eleanor felt nervous walking the few blocks with Bucky, exchanging formal pleasantries about how beautiful the night was and so on. But she was shy- at least, by her standards. She had always worn a big smile and never felt self-conscious about how loud she laughed, regardless of how many times people stated that it was ‘unladylike’. Because of her unapologetic mentality in refusing to conform to make herself small, it labeled her as difficult. Eleanor didn’t have many friends, but she always said: “I’d rather have four quarters than a hundred pennies,” and felt fulfilled. The people in her life that truly knew her, knew of her dreams and ambitions- and that she truly had a heart of gold. Not many others noticed, but Bucky did. He had always noticed how Eleanor could light up a room. She was the sun incarnate. So, when her mother ‘accidentally’ bumped into him on the street that morning and suggested he take her out tonight, he couldn’t refuse the idea. “So aside from enlisting,” Eleanor gestured towards his uniform with her free hand, since her other was interlocked around Bucky’s arm, “what else have you been up to since we graduated, Barnes?” She unconsciously gripped his forearm just a bit tighter, using physical touch to ground her from the unfamiliar nervousness she felt. “Sergeant Barnes,” he corrected with a grin. The pair moved from their sedentary spot in the carnival ticket line, only a few away from the booth. “Okay, Sergeant,” Eleanor reiterates, laughing to herself. “So?” she asks again, tilting her head to the side curiously and looking up at him through her lashes. “Boxed my way through art school. Then with all the boys gettin’ drafted, I just figured I’d sign up before Uncle Sam had the chance to come knockin’ on my door,” he recalled casually, but didn’t seem interested in talking about himself. Bucky’s arm disentangled with Eleanor’s, pressing his palm to the small of her lower back to coax her forward gently as the ticket line moved again. Her breath hitched slightly when he didn’t remove it right away, she eyed him up and down modestly.
His head tilted to the side, “What about you, Ellie?” his sapphire blue eyes holding her gaze, “What keeps you busy these days?”
Ellie. The nickname he uses makes her stomach drop, and they haven’t even gone on any rides yet. It’s a name he’s used off and on through school and over the years in passing. Her cheeks brighten with a new shade of light pink, breaking their fixed look at one another. Bucky takes notice and smiles fondly to himself.
“Um,” Eleanor forces herself to look back up at him, feeling at a loss for words as she tries not to focus so much on his beautiful smile- On how his slightly parted lips show the smallest hint of his white teeth. She didn’t think she’d be on a date tonight, let alone with someone that she’d been smitten with since grade school.
“I um,” her words were failing her for the first time ever, “I teach at the elementary school.” She hesitates a moment, before taking a breath and says, “to be honest, I’ve been waiting to get pulled into one of the factories.” Her voice now has a hint of sadness. Ellie quickly tries to deflect the subject, “Plus my brothers and sisters keep me pretty busy.” “Ah,” Bucky’s smile grows wider as his head tilts back at the recollection, also taking the hint, “and how are the little scoundrels?” Ellie laughs, thankful to have the relief of talking about herself put off. She shakes her head, “Still terrorizing anyone and everyone.” “Next!” Bucky reluctantly pulls his attention away from Ellie to step up to the ticket booth. “Two please,” he answers politely. As the worker counts his change, Bucky’s eyes couldn’t help but admire Ellie from head to toe. How she pointed one foot inward and fiddled with her fingers as she waited patiently with an imminent smile- admiring the sights and sounds of the fair around her. She was truly breathtaking.
There was no short supply of local attractive women. Bucky had dated plenty of them, and even more had shared his bed. They had always flocked to him, like a moth to a flame. It was a great stroke to his ego, but he was never taken with any of them. And none of them would have slammed a door in his face at the mere sight of him. Ellie though? She was something else entirely. He was always interested in what she had to say. The stories she told always captivated him and made him laugh. Being around her was easy and never forced. Even when they were kids, he found himself stealing glances and daydreaming about her. He had to make tonight mean something.
Tumblr media
As Bucky had promised himself, he pulled out all the stops to impress Ellie. It wasn’t long before she eased back into her normal self, although she couldn’t ignore the butterflies constantly flittering along the lining of her belly. The two spent hours walking around the carnival, sharing treats like cotton candy and the biggest, most delicious cannoli they had ever had. Bucky learned fast, and kept suggesting riding the bigger rides, because he selfishly loved it when Ellie clung onto him when she got scared. And Ellie, never being one to back down, always said yes. Ellie eventually convinced Bucky to take a break from riding the tilt-a-whirl back-to-back after threatening him with seeing the pink cotton candy to make an appearance again. He reluctantly conceded, knowing that he would be missing her reaching out and holding onto him. He suggested they play some carnival games until she felt better. And from the way Ellie’s eyes lit up with excitement, Bucky knew it was a promising idea.
In the meantime, they threw darts to pop balloons, a few several types of ball toss, and a horse racing game. Bucky even got to show off his marksmanship at a rifle target booth, winning Ellie a brown teddy bear that she proudly carried around with her for the entirety of the evening. But the best part was the way they cheered each other on with every game. Bucky’s heart swelled each time he won, and Ellie would jump up and down in excitement for him. Even with the playful competitive banter back and forth, neither of them felt a bitter loss. It was starting to get late, and the fair would be shutting down soon. The only ride the two hadn’t ridden yet was the Ferris wheel. Saving the best for last. Standing in a decently extensive line, the pair continued on with the tradition of the night: sharing belly laugh filled stories about dates gone horribly wrong and glances that lingered just a little too long.
Bucky felt something being with Ellie that was completely unfamiliar. In a world that was currently plagued with such darkness, this was the first time in he didn’t know how long he didn’t feel it weigh on him. She rejuvenated his very soul. Bucky silently wished out into the universe that she felt the same about him. “Y’know Ellie, I have to admit,” Bucky tucked his hands into his pockets as he stared down at the dirt his shoe kicked up. “tonight’s been…Ellie?” As he looked up from the ground to meet those golden eyes, there was nothing. She was gone. “Ellie?” Bucky repeated, louder this time as he frantically scanned the large crowd. “Ellie!” He shouted through his funneled hands while standing on his toes. Bucky’s head was starting to spin with worst case scenarios when he suddenly caught a glimpse of her bright yellow dress. Off in a quiet corner next to the circus tent, Ellie was crouched down talking to a young boy. The boy wasn’t looking at her, but instead his head hung low as he stared at the ground, and he seemed… upset.
Although he was too far away to hear, Bucky watched the encounter intently. Ellie nodded gently as she spoke to him, gesturing with her free hand- but the boy still seemed unresponsive. A moment of silence passes between them, and then with a bright smile, Ellie holds up the brown teddy bear that Bucky had won her earlier. She makes the stuffed animal dance, wave its arms, and boop the boy on his nose- finally getting his attention and smile. Then she holds the bear out to him. Without hesitation, he snatches it into his arms and pulls it tight against his chest. The boy is now beaming and looks like he was swapped with a completely different child. He hugs Ellie before running off to another group of children, holding up and showing off the bear while they all exclaimed how lucky he was. Ellie smiled and waved as the boy ran off, remaining crouched down on the ground for a moment even after being alone. Standing up as she brushed off her dress and watched the boy, her expression changed to one with a sorrowful undertone as the boy and his friends ran off. Turning to walk back to the Ferris wheel line, her honey brown eyes locked with Bucky’s. Just the sight of him waiting on her, standing online looking tall, broad, and handsome in that uniform watching her made her cheeks blush and a small smile tug on her lips.
From Bucky’s point of view, time seemed to move in slow motion. The bottom of Ellie’s dress flowed out with each sway of her hips. Her curls gently bounced with each graceful step, despite the uneven fairgrounds. He forgot how to breathe the closer she approached.
“Sorry ‘bout that, Sarge.” Ellie says apologetically, joining Bucky back in the line. “It’s alright,” Bucky’s voice is soft from his throat being dry. The feeling is suddenly overwhelming, his hand has laid dormant for too long. Taking the risk of not being on a ride, he wraps his arm around her shoulders. “Everything okay?” Leaning her body into his, Ellie sighs, “that was one of my students. He got the news earlier this week that his father died in the war. Left behind a wife and three kids… I just-” taking in a deep breath to try and calm herself, she shakes her head, “I know we’ve heard this story a hundred times before, Buck. It just never gets any easier. And I’m so sorry about the bear. I just got caught up in wanting to make him feel better that I just, I-” it was obvious that her heart hurt for the boy as her voice started to crack as she rambled.
She was right, it never got easier to hear these stories. And it always hit that much closer to home when it was someone you knew that was affected. Bucky was unsure if it was the story of the boy, or seeing Ellie’s act of compassion, but there was an undeniable gnawing in his chest as well. “Hey…” he cooed gently, cupping her chin between his thumb and pointer finger, coaxing her to look at him. Ellie tilted her head, though reluctant to look into Bucky’s eyes. But when she did, she found those cerulean irises filled with an unfeigned understanding as he leaned in close, “just means I get to take you out again for a chance to win another one, doll.” Her breath hitched again, at both the close proximity and the idea of another date with Bucky. Her eyes drifted down to his lips briefly before she met his gaze once again. Instinctively, Ellie started to lean in closer- not caring who was around to witness her kiss Bucky Barnes in public.
Bucky mirrored Ellie’s motions, his tongue gently flicking against his lips as he leaned in also when- “Next!” The carnival worker called. The disappointment was evident on Bucky’s face as his lips clenched into a thin line and his eyes closed tightly. Ellie though, was the opposite. She grabbed Bucky’s hand, “C’mon, Sergeant!” she giggled, dragging him onto the ride. Yet again, her smile was contagious, and he immediately gave in. Settling into their car on the Ferris wheel, it quickly jerked and rocked as it started to spin. Ellie threw her arms straight up into the air, squealing in pure excitement. And Bucky watched- Watched as the wonder sparkled in Ellie’s eyes, how the glow of the fair’s lights accentuated her already mesmerizing features, but mainly, he was dying to know if those lips tasted like the most perfect red delicious apple since they were painted exactly like one.
“Anybody ever tell you that you have a staring problem, Sarge?” Bucky had to blink a couple of times to focus. The Ferris wheel car had stopped at the very top, Ellie had her chin propped on her fist, smiling up at him through her lashes. He shook his head, “I was just thinking,” Bucky moved in a little closer, reaching his arm around Ellie’s shoulders, “that you are the most fascinating woman I have ever met.” “He’s lost in a memory…” Ellie’s cheeks blushed, but she rolled her eyes, “oh stop. I bet that’s something you say to all the girls.” Fireworks started firing off into the sky, mirroring the evident spark between the two. “I don’t care what the hell has to be done! Get him out of it! Scramble him again if you have to!” Bucky’s nose scrunches as he smiles, his head tilted up slightly to look down at her, “no, no. My pickup lines are usually waaay cheesier.” He and Ellie both laugh in unison, muffled by the occasional loud pops of the fireworks. But the pair refused to look away from one another.
“But sir-” Leaning in, Bucky breathes in both the mixed carnival aromas and the beautiful floral scent that is Ellie’s perfume. Her eyes flutter close as her lips purse towards his- “I. Don’t. CARE! Do it! NOW!” [2013] Bucky is met with a swift, vigorous slap to the face. Blinking rapidly, his eyes painfully adjust to the fluorescent lights in the room. Once focused, he finds numerous pairs of hard eyes staring down at him. Bucky sheepishly looks down at his bare chest, flexing painfully against the tight restraints of his chair. The realization that it was in fact not 1943 and not his first date with Ellie was quickly confirmed by the surrounding HYDRA agents, all staring at him like he was some wild animal waiting to snap and tear through a village.
Although in retrospect, he may have done that once or twice. And secretly, he never minded having HYDRA blood on his hands. If that wasn’t confirmation enough, the skin on his left shoulder was taut- the built-up scar tissue irritated from the roughened edges of his metal arm. God, how he hated that fucking thing. Sure, getting used to any kind of prosthetic takes time to accept- if at all. But this was used with the sole purpose of turning Bucky into a weapon, and for that reason, he hated it and everything it stood for. At least, when he could remember. Which is why he was always restrained. Which is why he was brainwashed over and over again until he forgot his name. Which is why he was thrown on ice when he wasn’t of use, so they didn’t have to hear his endless screaming as he tore and ripped at the skin, praying it would be tarnished enough that they couldn’t make him a new arm. But they always made him a new arm.
Alexander Pierce stepped out from between a few of the agents, clad in an expensive gray suit that stood out against the sea of all black military grade HYDRA uniforms. “Where’d you go?” he asked nonchalantly, shoving his hands into his pockets. It’s not like he was genuinely curious about anything that didn’t pertain to his own interests. Bucky’s brow furrowed, his eyes glancing briefly in Pierce’s direction before looking down again, “n-nowhere…” he replied apprehensively, always cautious about giving personal details when he remembered them. Pierce huffed sarcastically under his breath. A smirk tugged on his lips as his eyes narrowed on Bucky, “wipe him,” he said with a dismissive wave of his hand, “we’ll start fresh again tomorrow.” He wasn’t even fully done speaking before he spun on the heels of his dress shoes and was out the door.
The mechanical whirring from the machines surrounding Bucky’s now reclined chair grew antagonizingly loud. He could feel his lips uncontrollably twitch- and it took everything within his remaining willpower not to snarl as he reluctantly accepted the mouth guard the agent forced onto his teeth. Bucky’s chest already glistened with sweat as it heaved deeply, anxious for what was to come. His eyes widened at the sight of the all too familiar chrome halo that soon clasped securely around his head. He braced himself for the pain of his mind feeling like it was on literal fire by breathing around the mouthpiece and digging his heels. At least today, he remembered Ellie. Bucky just focused on the pure, rare beauty that she was sitting on top of the Ferris wheel that night- smiling at him like he was the only man in the world. Until it all went black. [Present Day]
He wasn’t sure if it was the sounds of his own screams or flailing around in his sleep that woke him from his nightmare. Or rather, memory. Bucky sat upright from the living room floor, tangled up in his blanket. His eyes traced the room, taking in the primarily dark apartment aside from the faint glow of the television. He felt hot, despite only sleeping in his boxers and his skin shining with a thick layer of sweat. He felt like he couldn’t breathe, even though he desperately took in quick, ragged breaths. Bucky felt so lost, even though he had been found. Even with being free of HYDRA and breaking from the control that anyone could have over him after spending time in Wakanda, he didn’t feel as though anyone truly knew him. Hell, he wasn’t even sure who he was after it all was stripped away. The only people who understood Bucky were Steve and Ellie, and they’re both gone. A small ‘meow’ came from Bucky’s side, making her presence known before gently rubbing her head against his thigh. Well, maybe there was one who understood him.
Letting out the pent-up air in his lungs, Bucky picked up the petite white cat and cradled her against his chest, “Sorry, pretty girl,” he actively softened his voice, “did I wake you?” He gently ran his hand over her head and down her neck, immediately pulling purrs from Alpine. He sighed to himself but continued to concentrate on petting her as his accelerated heart rate started to come back down. Alpine’s purrs grew louder as she started making biscuits against his thighs, making herself nice and comfy before drifting to sleep in his lap. At least one of us will be able to sleep tonight.
Tumblr media
As expected, he didn’t fall back asleep. Instead, Bucky replayed the distant clashing memories over and over in his head until the sun started peeking through the windows. At the break of dawn, he jumped into the shower in hopes of washing the night away. As Bucky stood in the shower, letting the tiny streams of water encase around him, he realized just how much he missed his old life. That version of him and how often his mind drifted to a time where he used to belong. In that moment, he decided he was going to use today to go to his old stomping grounds, reminisce and allow himself to truly grieve that part of his life.
Throwing on a pair of dark wash jeans, a grey T-shirt and a black leather jacket, Bucky locked the door to his apartment and made his way through The Compound. Leaning against the wall near the entrance was Loki, seemingly keeping to himself. He noticed Bucky though as soon as he stalked into view. His skin looked pale, his blue eyes dull and lifeless above the prominent dark circles underneath. Bucky’s nightmares and lack of sleep were something that the team was all too familiar with. They each collectively had their own demons that haunted dark rooms and spoke through the walls in the lonely hours late at night. “Isn’t it just a tad early,” Loki stood to his full height, “to seem this aloof already, James?” Bucky regarded Loki as he kept walking. “Yeah,” his earnest tone matching his gloomy mood as the door automatically opened.
Tumblr media
The bright, warm sun was a stark contrast to the cold, dark night that Bucky just had.
Standing at the edge of a small, curved road in the park that overlooked the Brooklyn Bridge, Bucky took in all the sights and sounds. It was strange to him how much the city had evolved and yet, some things were still the same. People passed, not paying him any mind. Friends gossiped over their morning coffee on a nearby bench, the runners attempted to get that last mile in before the day got too hot, couples walked by holding hands, and families pushed large strollers with smiley babies. It all sounded the same, but nothing was as it used to be. The intrusive thoughts felt heavier today as he continued to watch and take it all in, reminiscing about the times he and Steve used to drink beers at the bottom of that very bridge. Or rather, Bucky would try and convince Steve to drink. But he never did. Bucky and his sister used to play in this very park- though it looks different now. It sometimes was still difficult to differentiate what was a memory or a daydream he had conjured up to disassociate.
"Vader!" If he squinted his eyes just enough, he could see where his family's old town home used to stand in the distance before it was bulldozed down. "No! Don't- You're going to make me-" The sound of a heavy thud made Bucky look over his shoulder. On the ground a few feet behind him was a small cardboard box with the top cut off, lying on its side. Scattered all around and halfway in the box, was an assortment of wildflowers. "Damn it, Vader!" An annoyed voice grumbled before sighing heavily.
Giving the apparent mess a once over, Bucky breathed deeply through his nostrils before turning around and taking a knee- putting the box right side up before starting to subtly pick up the flowers. "Sit!" The sound of nails scratching against the asphalt came to a stop, only to be replaced with heavy panting. Bucky glanced over briefly to see a rather large German Shepherd watching proudly as he picked up the flowers. "God, thank you so much for your help! I'm just having one of those days. No thanks to this one here either." The woman's voice sounded slightly exasperated.
"No problem," Bucky replied, trying to look up but the sun blared straight into his eyes, momentarily blocking the person with whom he was speaking. After picking up the last few flowers, he tossed them into the box as he stood up. His height gave him the advantage of no longer having the sun in his face and he finally was able to see the person he's been interacting with. Bucky stops breathing- eyes widening in disbelief. Eleanor. It was her, and yet it wasn't. Her skin was evenly tanned, her golden hair long with a slight wave to it framing her face, dressed in matching yoga pants and sports tank as she clung tightly to the dog’s leash to keep him in place. "I spent my whole morning picking those," she gestured towards the box, "and this lunatic has been dragging me everywhere in between," she explains, embarrassed. Bucky is still staring, just blinking occasionally, skeptical that this is real.
Clearing her throat softly at what she perceived to be awkwardness, she picks up the box. "Thanks again!" she remarked politely, starting to turn away to leave. "W-what-" Bucky started, causing her to hesitate. He took a small step forward, "are those for?" he pointed to the box. It was the first thing that came to his mind, he had to keep her there for just a little while longer. He needed to know more. Smiling as she turned back to face him, Bucky's stomach twisted. It's the same smile. "I'm a teacher and anytime I'm here I grab some for my students," she shrugged nonchalantly. "I can usually come up with some kind of craft or whatever to make use of them." "You're a teacher?" "Mhm! Elementary." Down to the same damned occupation. "You... come here often? With your dog?" Bucky awkwardly motioned towards the German Shepherd. "Oh, um... Well," She laughed. Oh no. He feared that his question made her uncomfortable. "This is Vader," she runs her hand over the dog's head a few times, "but he's not mine. Just watching him for some friends while they're away."
Bucky looks over Vader, the corner of his lips tugging into a small smile before fixating on the woman again. "I'm sorry, " she starts, her eyes narrowing slightly as her head tilts in inquisition, "but do I know you? You just look so familiar..." He swallowed the large lump in his throat, "Uh, no? Nope, I don't think so." "Huh," she muttered to herself, continually examining his blue eyes. Clearing her throat, she holds out her hand "I'm Elena, but my friends call me Ellie." Taking her petite hand in his gloved one, he carefully shakes her hand. "Ellie," Bucky repeats, incredulously. "James, but my friends call me Bucky." "Bucky." Elena mirrors his tone. Her eyes drift down to his chest momentarily, spotting his dog tags. "And you're military?" A small snort escapes as he grins, "former Sergeant in the 107th." "Interesting," Ellie responded, continuing to search his crystal blue eyes as if it would magically reveal as to why she felt magnetized by this man's presence. Looking down, Bucky realized they were still holding onto one another's hand. His eyebrows raised, an amused smile eclipsing his former expression. The pair chuckled once, letting go. "Well," Ellie said, fidgeting with the dog leash in her hands, "It was nice meeting you. Thanks again," her voice sheepish as she shifted the cardboard box under her arm. "Nice meeting you too, Ellie," Bucky agreed. There was something about the way he said her name, how smoothly it rolled off his tongue that just felt so... intimate. Like he did in fact know her. That there was a secret between them that she was dying to know. Giving him a hopeful smile, she turned to walk away- Vader following at her side, "Hope to see you around, Sergeant!" Ellie called over her shoulder, giving a small wave.
Bucky watched Elena walking away, left utterly astounded by the interaction that had just occurred. Two images from two separate times seemed to overlap- Ellie from today, and Ellie with the tight curls and red lips in the yellow polka dot dress. A form of Deja vu. But one thing was for sure, he made it his mission to see her again.
Tumblr media
Later that evening at The Compound, Bucky stood at the counter in the kitchen holding a small drinking glass filled with ice and whiskey. The recent encounter from this morning consumed him and all of his thoughts. Which is why he didn’t notice Loki casually walk into the kitchen as well. Loki found this to be peculiar, since Bucky was the type to at least give an acknowledging scowl. “Penny for your thoughts?” Loki inquired, his voice low. Bucky swirled the ice in the glass before peeking up at him, “I had something… strange happen to me today.” “Oh?” “I uh-” Bucky sighed, putting the glass down a little harder than intended. “I swear I bumped into someone from my past. But it makes no sense. She would have to be, what? Over a hundred years old? It was her but it wasn’t her.” His hands expressed the bafflement he felt through their motions.
“You’re over a hundred, James.” Loki reminded. Bucky’s eyes narrowed, “yeah, I know.” He asserted. “But this was different. I don’t know how to explain it.” “Hmm.” Loki hummed to himself, looking over Bucky. Taking a step forward, extending out his hand out, “show me.” “Show you?” Bucky retorted, disgruntled by the question. “And just how would I do that?” Loki grinned, “I was raised by Witches, boy. There are many things I can see that people don’t understand.” Without waiting for an answer, Loki took Bucky’s flesh hand and pressed it flat between his. “What are you-” “Shh!” Loki planted his feet firmly, looking into Bucky’s eyes- which widened with concern. What would Loki see looking into his mind? His memories? Would he recount the same faces and what he’d done to them that haunt Bucky every single night? He suddenly felt overwhelmed with anxiety. Bucky stared back at Loki- his normal cobalt blue eyes started to glow a bright green. “Ah,” Loki breathed, “found it.” Flashbacks of today as well as the carnival shared between the two as a birds-eye view, like watching Bucky’s memories as if they were a movie. “Tell me, James,” Loki smirked while watching the images, “do you know what reincarnation is?” “What? Like being born again?” Bucky spat, feeling ridiculous. Loki laughed, “I’m afraid it’s much more in depth than people think.” Bucky raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to explain further. “Rare is it that one is given such an opportunity.” Loki breathed, astounded.
Rolling his eyes, Bucky sighs, “What the fuck are you even trying to say here, Loki?” “I’m saying,” he kept his voice low, trying to maintain patience, “that this universe somehow deemed you worthy of a second chance… with your soulmate.” “Soulmate?!” Bucky’s voice was loud, incredulous. “I haven’t seen this before,” Loki answered, fascinated at the scenes playing before them, “A soul brought back in the same lifetime to make up for time lost. Destiny can be a finicky thing.” “You’re saying that we were meant to be together all those years ago?” Bucky swallowed hard, his stomach twisting inward on itself. “Yes. And decisions made that weren’t your own affected that outcome. You’ve been given the opportunity to actually live out your true fate.” The eerie green glow faded from Bucky’s eyes as Loki pulled his hands away. He saw many things but decided to only show Bucky what pertained to this conversation. The screams already a sound he knew he wouldn’t forget anytime soon. The two always had a mutual understanding of each other. They typically got along, more so than the rest of the team. Their history often left preconceived tension with people, but they never judged one another. Just themselves. “So,” Bucky scratched the back of his head, “what do I do now?” “You, my friend,” Loki gripped Bucky’s shoulder, “go get a happy ending.”

fandom goes into deep denial about the attempted infanticide of baby loki because the imperialism reading of it works against the text and requires that the baby be stolen not abandoned, and that this theft be for the most nefarious and imperialist purposes we can think of. whereas actually - and i was going to say this is 'the obvious parallel' but no it's not even a parallel it's what's clearly happening there - the baby's been left out to die for being disabled hasn't he?
the word 'runt' gets used but adult loki compared to other frost giants is not just slightly on the small side, he's probably equivalent to a human with dwarfism, which definitely brings this into Infanticiding The Disabled Child territory. which a) laufey cannot be allowed to do because that's a fucked up and horrible thing to do* b) we also can't allow that odin just kept that baby because by asgardian standards there was no obvious disability there. (the social model of disability, but with giants and less-giants**) "why would you be throwing out this baby, laufey? it looks normal-sized. it doesn't even have an unusual number of limbs. yeah, i am taking this baby as a friend for my similarly-sized bio-son. mine now. finders keepers." i point this out because the disabled baby is not saved by someone thinking disability-based infanticide is wrong - at least not necessarily so - but by being found by someone who doesn't recognise the supposed problem. to whom it simply does not exist.
and of course fandom loves sad little feeble loki being weak and pathetic in fic, but i have somehow never seen this tied to the fact that he is canonically undersized for his species and likely has some connected internal fuckery going on with his organs. we have no idea what made him that small or what it'd do and - here's the fun kicker for you angst fans! - probably nobody on asgard would either. when's the last time any of them had to look after even an entirely able-bodied jotun? how likely is it that they can just write off to jotunheim to say "hey what's up with that kid your king tried to murder? how would we fix him if he lived here? yeah, our king kept him. no, we didn't eat the baby! can we borrow a medical textbook? what do you mean you don't have paper there. well how do you write down how the orientalist belly-dancer outfits are to be worn? well then how... no, come back. did you just hang up on a letter???"
sorry, i digressed. what i was aiming for was that there is a very obvious reason why loki might be unusually weak for a lad who looks healthy to us and who doesn't seem any smaller or less able-bodied than the people around him, but i just don't see it being deployed in fic or in meta or whatever. is this because the 'laufey just left his baby out for some fresh air like norwegians do' reading kind of relies on that baby not being seen as a burden to be got rid of and we all kind of agree that... no. no, i shall not finish that thought. it is too depressing. it probably is that though isn't it?
anyway. this is me wondering what is up with that. other than maybe some kind of 'echo-chamber effect' where even the wildest ideas can become commonly-held fanon and where it'd be easy to just straight-up ignore a very obvious implication of baby-murdering because someone leaving you to just fucking die for being disabled is somehow not enough oppression for a blorbo in these enlightened times. or because it breaks a popular fandom interpretation of events. or something like that?
*in fairness i'd say humans from earth are probably within the group that's allowed to just not care about humans from earth getting invaded and killed.
**i say 'less-giants' because look:
Tumblr media
look at this literal giant among men. tiny scrawny little thing, so smol and so freakishly tall to the humans. i call this 'the social model of smolness.'

What your myth! Loki ship says about you:
⚠ Just a heads up! I am doing this for fun and to see if I understand our community right! I'm by no means trying to hate on anyone who actually ship these things! Ships have just..always been so interesting to me, and I thought it would be fun. Did I forget someone? Please let me know! ^^
Tumblr media
Loki + Sigyn = You can't get over how tragic yet passionate their love is. After all it's the only thing we have of them together and somehow it makes the message of loyalty and compassion between lovers even stronger.
Loki + Angrboda = Either you're here for the tragedy that was their love, what could've been if only Odin didn't take away their children.. or you love the tall witch wife and small gremlin husband dynamic (me too :3)
Angrboda + Loki + Sigyn = You're tired of seeing the wives being pinned up against each other, heck it isn't even cannon to the mythology. You just want to see them all happy together while kissing. They deserve their polycule!
Loki + Gullveig = You don't actually ship them but if they had a relationship, it would be something along the lines of: one night stand parents trying to do what's best for their baby. Or you think Gullveig is actually Angrboda! 👍✨
Loki + Glut = You thought Loki and Logi were the same person. Now you either regret it and feel bad for believing in it or stick by it wholeheartedly. 🔥
Loki + Hoenir = Want to kiss your homies good night? Friends to lovers is your thing or you're there for the possible angst of letting a young lover go because it was never meant to be. 😔
Loki + Odin = You thought they could go deeper than being just blood brothers, didn't you? Ohh..the angst and pain you put yourself through for them.
Loki + Heimdall = You're torn between the fact they don't actually have to hate each other vs the way they clearly have a love/hate relationship + obvious tension. If they ever fought in front of you, you'd probably shout inappropriate things at them. 🤨
Loki + Svadilfari = You try everything In your power to forget what really happened between these two and tried to fix the story for the better..💀
Loki + Thor = Let me guess, the reason you like this is because of Marvel? If not you have a thing for the bratty twinks and their giant straight boyfriends that haven't realized he is bisexual yet.
Loki + Baldr = You either stand by the headcannona that Loki killed Baldr because he loves him (one-sided or not) and tried to protect him from Ragnarok. Or you have the "I hate straight people so I'll force these two to date even though they don't go well together." mentality. No, there isn't anything in between for you. 😭
Loki + Hodr = For some reason you just had to see the potential angst between these two! You love the dramatic storytelling of being betrayed by your lover, making you do their dirty work! You poor being, what happened? 💔
Loki + Sif = Possible exses? Secret affair? You live for the drama and desperately want to know what happened between these two.
Loki + (potential) farmer man = You wish we had more good representation of Loki being with a another man. (I agree!) So when Odin accused Loki of being a milkmaid and having children, it opend a whole new world to inspire you!
Loki + Skadi = The lokasenna was enough for you to decide they totally dated in the past. Also you love spiteful exses that will threaten to kill your children if they don't shut up…😨(spoiler: Loki didn't shut up)
Loki + Zisa = I don't know why you'd ship them If their "affair child" was supposed to be a secret but I guess you're into the drama. Anyways Zisa isn't real..she can't hurt me. 😌

Saying Goodbye
Tom Hiddleston x wife!reader oneshot
Your husband just finished filming season 2 of Loki, thus concluding his long journey as the God of Mischief, but as a stunt double for The Marvels, you’re stuck doing a reshoot on the night of the wrap party when all you want to do is be there for him.
Warnings: angst, fluff
A/N: After watching the Loki finale, as well as Tom’s interview on Jimmy Fallon, I guess I wrote this to process my own grief (and be a little self indulgent)…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you walked into the wrap party, you spotted your husband immediately, talking to Ke Huy Quan across the room by the bar. Tom’s dyed black curls were slightly disheveled and he was gesturing wildly with his hands, clearly very passionate about whatever the topic of conversation was. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself as you watched him, until you were pulled from your thoughts by a familiar voice.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in,” Owen Wilson greeted you, pulling you in for a hug. “Glad you could make it!”
“And just in time, evidently,” you added as you pulled out of the hug. “Is he doing any better?”
Owen shook his head and sighed. “He’s not doing any worse, I can say that much.”
The two of you walked over to Tom and Ke, and you slid your arm around Tom’s slender waist. “Sorry to interrupt,” you told them both.
Tom’s eyes lit up when he saw you. “Darling! You made it!” he said excitedly, standing up from his seat at the bar and quickly giving you a hug and kiss before addressing the entire room. “Y/n Hiddleston, everybody!” he shouted, pointing at you as if you were the big surprise guest for the night. Everyone played along and cheered while you waved bashfully at them all before turning back to Tom.
“How are you doing, my love?” you asked him, concerned, as you cupped his face in your hand.
“I’m wonderful,” he assured you. “Why?”
You glanced at Owen apprehensively. “Owen said you were sort of… spiraling.”
“What?” Tom looked at Owen confused. “You said I was spiraling?”
“You’ve been spiraling a little,” Owen said quietly from behind you. You and Ke proceeded to watch the two men bicker back and forth.
“I think I’d know if I was spiraling.”
“I mean, it’s a subtle spiral, but a spiral all the same.”
“Is there even such a thing as a subtle spiral?
“So you’re admitting that it’s not subtle. Good!”
“No, I’m saying there was no spiral to begin with.”
“Oh my god! If either of you say the word spiral one more time, I’m going to start spiraling,” you shouted abruptly.
“I promise you, darling, I’m fine. Really.” Tom attempted to reassure you as he pulled you close to him. You looked over your shoulder at Owen briefly who held up his hands in defeat.
“Alright,” you conceded, before turning to Ke. “I’m so sorry, Ke! I didn’t mean to interrupt your conversation.”
“It’s okay,” Ke said cheerfully. “Tom was just telling me about how I shouldn’t get too attached to anything because everything ends eventually.” You and Owen both gave Tom a look.
Tom chuckled nervously and then clapped his hands together. “Shots anyone?” he asked, as he turned to the bartender. “Another round of Loki shots, please! And add one more for my beautiful wife!”
“No need,” Owen called after the bartender. “She can just have mine!”
“Oh no, I’m good. I’m driving,” you chimed in, shooting a glare at Owen.
“That’s fine. I’ll just have both of theirs,” Tom said nonchalantly.
You quickly stepped between Tom and the bar. “Hey, maybe we should forget the shots and have a little fun of our own at home.” You gave him a playful wink, hoping to distract him.
“But you just got here,” he protested. “Please, let’s stay for a while and celebrate the end!”
The way he said ‘celebrate the end’ sounded excited and happy, but you could tell it was forced. Still, it was his night tonight (though he would never accept it if you told him that), and you didn’t want to be the one to spoil it, so you obliged.
You, Tom, Owen, and the rest of the ‘Loki’ cast and crew spent the next couple of hours laughing, dancing, and sharing stories (most of which ended up being about Tom), and it seemed like maybe Tom was handling things better than you had originally thought. There was a moment when he reprised his rendition of ‘Very Full’ from the first season of the show, and you thought for a moment, during the slower part of the song, that he was finally letting his feelings to the surface, but as the song picked up again, so did his demeanor. It wasn’t until people started to say their goodbyes for the night, that you really began to see his happy exterior fade.
“I think it’s time to call it, boss,” Owen said to Tom as the last few cast members departed, leaving only the three of you along with a couple of closing staff in the venue rented out for the night’s festivities.
“I suppose so,” Tom agreed with a sad smile.
“We’re still on for lunch before your flight leaves tomorrow, right?” you asked Owen as he hugged you and Tom goodbye.
“I wouldn’t miss it,” he replied. And with that he left.
You then turned to your husband and held out your hand. “Come on, love. Let’s get you home.”
The two of you spent the car ride reliving the fun of the party, and were laughing as you walked in the front door of the house. As you set your purse down on the buffet in the foyer, Tom wrapped his arms around your waist from behind and nuzzled into your neck.
“Thank you for coming,” he said softly.
You placed your hands over his and swayed back and forth. “Of course, baby. But I want to ask you one more time…” You turned around to face him, putting one hand on his shoulder and the other gently cupped his face. “Are you alright? Because it’s perfectly okay to not be okay right now. You just closed a huge chapter of your life and no one expects you to just take it on the chin.”
As you said this, Tom’s eyes slowly welled up with tears as he finally let go of the mask he’d so tirelessly upheld all night. “I’ve said goodbye to Loki before, and I thought I could do it again” he began, his voice cracking slightly. “But it’s only that much harder now. He changed my life. He’s become such a deeply rooted part of me over the last 13 years. How am I expected to just move on from that?”
A tear fell down his cheek and you brushed it away with your thumb. “No one expects you to, sweetheart,” you replied in a soft, comforting tone. “You’re allowed to grieve.”
Tom squeezed his eyes shut, causing more tears to fall as he hugged you tight, burying his face in the crook of your neck. You held him there for a moment, stroking his hair while he quietly cried.
“But, Tom,” you continued, taking his face in both hands, lifting his head, and looking deep in his eyes. “Even if Loki’s on-screen journey is over, it doesn’t mean he’s gone. You said it yourself that he’s a part of you. Even if Kevin Feige never calls you up again— which, let’s be honest, is never out of the question at this point—” He let out a small chuckle. “As long as you’re around, so is he, and that’s because you put your heart and soul into that character, much like everything else that you do. It’s one of the many reasons I fell in love with you.”
Tom smiled at you through his tears before leaning down to kiss you tenderly. When your lips finally parted he leaned his forehead against yours and sighed. “Thank you, love,” he whispered.
“No, thank you Tom,” you replied, tears forming in your own eyes now. “Thank you for giving us Loki.”

The Old Gods and The New - Chapter 15
Tumblr media
The Golden Palace | Loki x Reader
Questions are answered at The Golden Palace of the Gods, but some things are best left unsaid.
Warnings: some language and angst, daddy issues but not the fun kinky kind (sorry!).
AN: Not gonna lie I've been nervous to put this one out, I've tried to research and add some gods that to be honest I didn't know much about. This has been a learning process for me! This is intened to be taken in the same vibe as Love & Thunder with depictions being very surface level, just like Thor and Loki aren't exactly as they are in their own mythologies.

You had never travelled by Bifröst and, as Thor released your hand, you swore never to do it again. Your head swam with colours, your stomach churning and you regretted the second cookie you’d scarfed down while you and Loki hastily packed and left his cabin.
“How did you fare, Trouble?” Thor laughed, slapping a meaty hand on your arm and peering down at you. At your side, Loki slid his grasp from yours to wrap an arm around your waist, holding you steady against his sturdy body. You were grateful for his grounding presence, the way his sedir seemed to curl around your magic, keeping it from flaring in fear.
“Darling?” Loki pulled you impossibly closer, cupping your cheek with his free hand to look at your queasy expression.
“I’m never, ever, doing that again,” you groaned and the brothers laughed, Thor’s deep chuckle melted into Loki’s softer, more lilting laugh and you couldn’t help but start giggling too, the absurdity of travelling with two gods, on a rainbow bridge, magiced out of thin air was too much and you burst into peals of laughter.
Your laughter echoed back and you finally looked up at the wondrous place Thor had brought you to. The outside of the palatial building was clad entirely in polished gold which shone impossibly in every direction without shadow. Looking up the entire sky seemed to be made of sun, even the idyllic clouds that passed glowed from within. Turrets and spires decorated the outside and a series of walkways, bridges and staircases led the way from various pools, sunken gardens and lush looking courtyards. Everywhere you looked the palace dripped with opulence, every direction spun out into excesses of marble decked luxury.
“Wow.” You stared up, spinning slowly as Loki’s hands kept you steady around your waist, and attempted to take in the magnificence that surrounded you.
“Wow indeed.” Thor patted your shoulder, “this is the Golden Palace, home of the Gods themselves.”
“Which gods?” You asked, not daring to take your eyes from your surroundings. You knew that Thor and Loki had once lived in Asgard, as had you for a short time, though your memories gave you only glimpses of that time.
“All of the gods, I suppose, should they wish it, they come here to meet, socialise, and relax. So many gods are no longer worshipped and, until they fade from memory, they come here.”
At that you stopped moving and Loki, ever careful of you, took your hand again.
“What do you mean, until they fade from memory?”
“Well, ásynja, gods are only as good as their worshippers. So if a god is no longer worshipped they become weak, they begin to age. Some slip into deep sleeps and some become mortal and die.” Loki said, quietly.
To speak of such a death was not polite within earshot of other deities, it was a fear that gripped them all, and the brothers kept their voices unusually quiet as they explained.
You were stunned, it hadn’t occurred to you that gods could truly die. You’d seen Thor injured once before and you supposed should the injury be extreme enough perhaps they would die. But to fade into obscurity first. To be forgotten. That seemed a terrible way to go.
It is, darling, there is no entrance to Valhalla for those who become dust
Loki cupped your cheek, “my sweet darling, please don’t be upset. There are many ways for gods to be worshipped. Take your museums and galleries. When you stand before a Botecelli and gaze upon Venus, your reverence keeps her strong.”
“So art, history, documentaries…”
“Have you not noticed, we gods are vain creatures,” Loki smiled, preening comically and Thor laughed too, flexing his muscles.
It made your heart clench. How could the Avengers treat him as such a threat, when he was so funny and kind and witty. Mischievous? Yes. But evil? Never.
“That does help, Loki. Thank you.” You stood on your toes and kissed him gently while Thor made a show of looking disgusted behind you. “But, wait, if any gods can come here, why didn’t you come here after Ragnarok?”
“Ah - yes, well, there was the suggestion of that.” Thor looked at his brother, “I had already abdicated but, I like Midgard and I would have had to leave my people behind. I would not enjoy myself without them.”
Loki nodded in agreement, “I know what the Midgardian’s think of me, darling, but I can assure you my sentiments were very much the same. Though I am no longer in line to the throne -”
“You never were,” Thor muttered and Loki shot him a glare.
“- as I was saying, the throne matters not. What I truly care about is Asgard, whether that is a place or a people, I wished to remain and rebuild alongside my brother and the King.”
It wasn’t a surprise to you that Loki was sentimental, but it made your heart squeeze to hear him talk about his responsibilities and loyalties. This was the man, you loved and you desperately wanted to tell him. To share with him how deep your feelings ran, how clearly you saw his heart. But there were so many unanswered questions and Loki would never be just a man, he was a god, tied to his people and though he had expressed his loyalty, you feared he would not be able to give you his heart in the same way.
Instead of words you chose kisses to show your affection, reaching up and winding your fingers into the neatly brushed curls at the nape of his neck and crushing kisses to his lips.
Thor coughed loudly.
“When you two have finished, I did suggest our visit for a reason. Not just so you could have a romantic date.”
Loki pulled away and for a split second you chased his lips, not ready to let him go. He smiled down at you, that luxurious, lust filled smirk that told you this conversation, and the kiss, were not over.
“Now that we’re discussing this, I don’t think this attire is suitable.” Thor waved at hand at you both, still dressed casually from your morning at Loki’s cabin. Even Thor’s own clothes were too casual for the setting, his large sweatshirt and jeans not nearly as intimidating as his battle armour.
With a roll of his eyes Loki’s sedir flashed and he was once more in his Asgardian leathers, less formal that the fighting armour he’d worn at the end of the mission, this had a distinctly blue hue to the chest, with his signature black leather trousers and boots. His hair, still somewhat messy, was swept back by his long fingers as he carded them through his curls. He hadn’t looked away for a second, still pining you with that look. He gave you a wink and you snapped your mouth shut.
“What about me?” You didn’t mean for it to sound so petulant, but it was hardly fair that they always knew exactly how to present themselves. All of these formalities were so new to you.
“I’m sure you’re more than capable of conjuring your own clothes, darling.” Loki purred.
“I am - but what do you wear at the Palace of the Gods?” You chewed your thumb, looking around at all the other gods as they passed. Many wore robes, some tunics and dresses, there were even a few that were mostly naked. “I only have my armour or my Earth clothes?”
“Think of your armour, the colours and textures, the images, and then imagine something you’d feel comfortable in.” Loki suggested.
“A dress, or something. Jane always liked to wear Earth Jeans.” Thor suggested with a smile, despite being glad almost exclusively in various kinds of polished metal.
“She cannot wear Earth Jeans, Thor, she is a Goddess, she must look like one.” Loki protested, rounding on his brother.
“Are you saying Jane is not a Goddess?”
“Yes, I am - you love her and I approve of her, but she is not -”
Their squabbling faded into a dull roar as you tried to concentrate, thinking about the rich blue colour of your armour, the soft velvet and smooth silver, and the weight of a dress settled around your shoulders and hips. It was surprisingly traditional, considering how much you’d hated the flouncy skirts you’d been put in as a child, but the low front and draped back felt more womanly and regal than any stuffy corset you’d been shoved into, the skirt was wide, but moved around you like water and you had the sensation of blossoming, like a midnight flower, under the gaze of your beloved Loki.
“ásynja, it’s perfect.” He held your gaze as he stepped forwards, offering his arm to you
Even Thor appeared starstruck, grinning happily and giving you a thumbs up. “Perfect, now we’re ready.”
Tumblr media
Thor and Loki appeared stately as they marched through the gilded corridors of the Golden Palace and as you kept pace next to them you were transported to memories of your shared youth, following them around at first, until you had your bearings, and then racing with them between lessons, training, meals and meetings.
Faster and faster you ran, dodging guards and swinging around the pillars at the end of the corridor, your dress trailing behind you like a spring breeze. The soft linen snapped like a whip when you turned again, hiding yourself on the tall base of a column, and waited for your prey.
Thor appeared at one end of the corridor first, closely followed by Loki. You grinned, Thor you could catch but Loki? You didn’t trust the boy before you, green tunic fluttering around his hips. He’d tricked you far too many times for that.
You waited for him to pass Thor, a subtle nod to his brother, before you made your move.
With a yell you jumped out onto Thor’s back, your arms around his neck and your wooden dagger pressed to his throat. “I caught you!” You declared and Thor’s bellowing laugh echoed around the corridor.
In front of you both Loki whirled back and you threw the training dagger, only for it to pass through the illusion and fall to the ground.
“Not so fast, Trouble.” Thor laughed, “we may have you beaten yet.” You could almost see his grin.
Loki was swift and clever, you could feel the air move behind you as he made ready to strike and then you let Thor go, falling to the ground and rolling between Loki’s legs in one smooth movement. Smaller than both the Asgardian Prince’s your best bet was to always go very high, or very low.
Jumping to your feet you pulled Loki’s dagger from his boot and poked it into his side.
Thor’s laugh continued to boom but Loki lifted his hands in surrender. “You win again, ásynja, as always.”
He turned, smiling serenely, and you flipped the dagger, catching it deftly in your palm without drawing blood.
“As always, boys.” You smiled, fixing your skirts serenely and making to walk off, “want to play again?” And you broke into a run…
“Are you alright, my darling?” Loki asked, his eyes narrowed, “you look distracted.”
“Just remembering,” you smiled, and he kissed your temple softly, always worried by that glassy look in your eyes but pleased that the memories were coming back slowly.
Together the three of you walked through endless miles of gold corridors, halls with vast vaulted ceilings branched out from the central artery, below you were oasis after oasis of fountains and ponds, pools where gods swam and patios where they ate and laughed together.
The mere thought of all of these deities being real was making your head spin, let alone that you might actually belong here among them.
You belong wherever you chose to be
Loki’s mind spoke to yours, a soothing balm against your anxiety.
“Here we are,” Thor declared, outside two staggering doors of solid gold. “If we can’t find answers here, then I am all out of ideas.”
The doors swung open and flooded the corridor with ethereal light, almost as bright as Lugh’s had been when he’d appeared before you.
Shielding your eyes you took in the full height of the atrium. Decked out in polished gold and pure white there were rows and rows of seating in various sizes, as if for a giant theatre. Filling the seats were more kinds of people than you’d ever seen in your life, some looked like Loki and Thor, as if human but…more. Some were so small they were placed on towers of cushions and plinths rather than lounging on thrones. Then there were the giants, hanging over the edges of the balconies and peering in through the vast windows.
In the centre, floating on their own balcony, was a man of about average height, but his muscular body looked like it was brushed with gold to match his surroundings. His curled hair sat perfectly on his shoulders, one bare and one draped in pure white silk, a gold chest plate and gold leather pleats decorated the otherwise simple tunic and he was accompanied by a gaggle of similarly dressed women, all giggling and looking down at you.
Stunned, you squeezed Loki’s hand tighter in your now sweating palm, and tipped your chin up to meet the man’s gaze, wishing Thor had prepared you better.
“Welcome to the Golden Palace,” the man’s voice boomed around the room and all the other attendees went silent.
Everything will be okay, my darling Loki assured silently, but you were still rooted to the spot, terrified.
Looking again at the floating platform it became obvious who was staring back. Zeus waved the women at his side away and leant further over the balcony, his eyes roving over you again without shame.
“So this is who has caused such-” he waved his hand, “disruption and madness in our ranks.”
“We have come to seek answers, also, Mighty Zeus.” Thor answered for you, stepping further into the light from the towering windows. “We have received information regarding a prophe-”
“That is not to be spoken of here!” Zeus roared and Thor fell silent, snapping his jaw shut. “Lugh was sent to deal with you, what happened?”
What does he mean deal with me?
I don’t know, my darling, stay close
“Why did you defy him!?” Zeus demanded, his eyes boring into you, his entire court turned to you as well, the weight of their attention was crushing and your voice stuck in your throat.
“I didn’t - sorry - I -”
“We were not aware, Zeus, that anything was required of us. There was an incident with a kidnapping and it has made us wary of others.” Loki said and you mentally kicked yourself for your nerves.
“Well you are here now.” Zeus sighed and looked around, “where is Lugh?”
There was a commotion towards the side of the room and a familiar man strode forwards, he looked up towards Zeus and inclined his head politely before turning to look at you. Not Thor or Loki, who closed ranks around you, but straight towards you. Like an arrow he closed in until he could peer over Loki’s shoulder at you, so close you could see the fine detail of his armour.
“I did not wish for you to be here, child.” He hissed, turning his chin and addressing Loki, “why did you bring her?”
“Because we required answers from that irritating riddle of my mother’s” Loki bit back, his eyes shining with anger. “If you had explained instead of -”
“No whispers in my court!” Zeus bellowed and you all faced him again.
“Now we shall resolve this matter.” Zeus declared.
“Ah Zeus you know this is merely a squabble,” Lugh laughed, stepping forwards and, imperceptibly, to the side, placing himself between you and the head of the Greek pantheon.
Zeus nodded to Lugh in greeting, “it is good to see you back among our ranks, though we had hoped that this issue could have been resolved already.”
Loki tugged you backwards and Thor closed in around you.
What’s happening?
I cannot fathom, darling, just stay still, stay quiet.
Around you the sound of many people talking rose in a cacophony of sound, the once placid gods now talking heatedly between themselves.
“I can not take this arguing anymore. Can the disgruntled parties please step forwards?” Zeus waved one hand and placed his head in the other dramatically, as if he was physically tired from the entire argument despite his continued wide legged stance and the abundance of seating around him.
The first god stepped forwards, tall and broad with huge muscles, his long beard and the storm that followed him reminded you of Thor, but instead of a hammer, this God carried a mace and an axe.
He stopped before Zeus and pointed at you, barely looking at you before staring Zeus down. “She belongs to us, let her leave with me now and there will be no bloodshed.” You’d imagined that in a land of gods there would be many languages, but thankfully you were able to understand all that was said.
Lugh and Thor closed in tighter around you as Loki tugged you closer into his side. The storm that had arrived with this god made the air colder and your skin felt damp, as if you’d just stepped inside after being caught in the rain.
I won’t let them take you, darling
“Baal, we have discussed the need for evidence, what have you to provide -”
Before Zeus could finish, a second god stepped forwards. You had thought the first was large, but the second was easily eight feet tall, lean and slender with skin so lustrous it looked like it was made of polished bronze. Although his body was that of a man, even if it was a towering man, his head was that of a dog, black fur blurred down his neck and a long snout ended in a surprisingly soft muzzle.
Despite the attention of the room shifting, Baal continued to raise his voice, the clouds above him breaking into rain that pattered on the marble and formed splashing pools below his feet. “These powers are ours, Zeus and you know this to be true.”
Loki he squeezed your hand and turned to you slightly, the damp curls of his hair sticking to his forehead.
Everything here is translated or, it is now after the last argument erupted
Loki’s hand was a reassuring presence in your own and you stepped closer into his warmth as the God continued, the velvet of your dress feeling heavy in the misty rain.
His voice was deep, but steady, as he spoke not to Zeus and his retinue, but directly to you. The taught tension in his shoulders and the clenching of his hands told you, and the three men still surrounding you, that he was in no mood for an argument.
“Brigid visited me on her journeys and I claim you as my offspring, I have seen your many powers and I wish to welcome you to the Ennead as my daughter.”
You coughed, choking on your own breath in surprise. Next to you, Loki stiffened and you felt that piercing gaze of his turn to you, on your other side Thor stood in shock . But Lugh scoffed.
“You have never been able to prove anything, either of you. What evidence do you have for your claim now?” Lugh stared up at Anubis’ dark eyes first, and then Baal’s, standing his ground between you and the other gods. They had had this conversation before, that much was clear and as before Lugh refused to move an inch.
Before Anubis could answer a large serpent, covered in delicate, brightly coloured feathers, slithered from the seating and coiled itself around the gathered gods.As his tail came to rest on the polished marble he transformed into a man, feathers still decorating his turquoise and green clothing.
“Step aside, Anubis, you and I both know that this girl is capable of great things, death is not one of them.” His eyes softened as he turned to look at you, “we have spoken of the prophecy, we know that she would need both a mother and a father capable of -”
“And what of the other half of the prophecy?” Another man stepped forwards, though he seemed to be of average height he carried with him a huge cutlas and, as the wind whipped up around him, his gold eye glinted. “Surely there are many who can claim such gifts.”
Zeus raised his hand and a bolt of lightning flashed above his head.
“We agreed we would not discuss the prophecy in front of the girl,” he commanded.
“Only because you did not want us to take responsibility for her actions!” A voice chimed from high in the stadium.
“Aye, what if she needs controlling!” Another voice agreed, “surely you are to blame here, Zeus, you are the leader among us and a shape shifter as the girl is, you should take over controlling her!”
“Controlling? No one is going to -” you raised your voice, trying to make a stand in your defence, but Loki had tangled his magic around you, holding you back, though it appeared all he was doing was clasping your hand. You fought against him, determined to speak your mind. But even Thor, who revelled in your troublemaking, shook his head.
You would fry him for this, singe his hair and torch his precious leathers. Melt his daggers and - the coil around you tightened and it suddenly felt like an embrace, and not a leash, guarding you against the onslaught of opinion. The fire of your anger flickered, but didn’t go out.
“I?” Zeus looked genuinely upset at the prospect, which, despite your relief, felt a lot like an insult. “I have not sired the child, look at her, so full of destruction. Perhaps she really is yours Owuo, or, perhaps,” he turned to the voice in the crowd, “she is yours, Proteus, after all, she is a changeable thing.”
“Thing?!”
Your magic was roiling, perhaps you really were meant for destruction, desperate for a way to release the anger building slowly inside.
“Hush, darling,” Loki cooed, squeezing your hand.
“Don’t you tell me to hush, you’re as bad as them, what is this? A cattle market? I can’t tell whether I’m wanted or not!”
Still towering above you, Anubis looked down, placing a large hand across your back, he spoke softly and the words flowed through you.
“Of course you are wanted, child, but, you see, we have been arguing for many eons over you. Where there is awe, there is also fear.
Fear, they were frightened about you and suddenly you were frightened too. What if the prophecy was true, and you were destined to be a person you couldn’t control.
In the centre of the theatre the gods continued to argue, their voices becoming blurred as more and more descended from the steps. Some shouting that you should be made to go with them, back to their homes and worlds to rule in their pantheons, some arguing that you needed taking in hand, containing as you had been. But the word that kept appearing, that you couldn’t shake, was prophecy.
Frigga’s words were more than just a dream then, they had been heard across the pantheons, across time, and these gods were in disarray because of it. Even those who wished to claim you only sought control of the terrible destruction the prophecy had claimed. It crossed your mind that maybe you should have gone with Lugh and allowed him to hide you. He had come to your aid once more and he had never hurt you, even when he’d sent the boy to fetch you he’d been gentle, that was his undoing.
“If there is one more word about the prophecy then we will have Lugh remove her memories and send her back to be contained on Gaia with him until this can be resolved” Zeus boomed.
Your blood felt cold.
The air rushed from your body in a single huff.
Your body numb.
Lugh turned away from the commotion to look at you, the light around him dimming to a faint glow.
“Estrid -”
“Loki I want to go home,” you tugged him backwards, away from the man approaching you.
“Please, you must understand, I did what I thought to be right to protect you.” Lugh took a step closer, but Thor moved in front of him, blocking his path with a crackle of blue lightning.
“Loki!” You turned to him, tears streaming down your face.
“I only meant to protect you.” Lugh looked stricken, but Thor held him back. “See how they fight over you? See how they want to use you? I only ever wanted you to be free. Please, allow me to explain.” He pleaded.
“You took everything from me!” Your scream echoed, bouncing back into the flames that exploded from your body. Loki moved back and you swore he looked almost blue for a moment as he threw up a wall of protective sedir around himself and Thor. On the outside, Lugh continued to approach, his light wrapping around him.
“Please,” he begged, “I understand you do not wish to talk to me. Allow me to write you a letter? Or visit you somewhere when you are calm -”
“I’m very calm. I am very calm right now.” You snarled, your armour rippling over your body, your spear suddenly clenched between your fingers. “I never want to see you again, don’t ever try to talk to me again. You are a jailor, a kidnapper, get away from me.”
He didn’t have to hurt you, because he had so much more control than that, he had taken every thought and memory of Loki from you, your time on Asgard, your mother.
“Princes, please,” he turned to Loki and Thor, “your mother agreed, she helped, it was for the best that you forgot.”
You moved backwards again, dropping Loki’s hand as your spear sparked on the marble. So he’d hurt Loki too, there was no return from this, no way to atone when he’d hurt you both.
You were  running for the edge of the stage before you could dwell on it anymore, towards what you hoped would be an exit, behind you your fire followed you like the sweep of a dress, melting the gold it touched into soft pools and charring the wooden legs of the pews that lined the centre of the stage.
You didn’t look back.
Tumblr media
With one last look at the burgeoning fight brewing in the centre of the Golden Palace, Loki turned, his cape flowing behind him as he sprinted after you, catching you around the waist and vanishing in a flash of green and gold magic.

you ever think of hybrid avengers?
puppy! hybrid peter parker who has the waggiest tail, literally thwacks the avengers with it all the time. who hides his tail and ears after everyone’s forgotten him, he knows if he bumps into mj, his tail would wag uncontrollably. he doesn’t want to seem weird to her.
wolf! hybrid bucky who’s ears and tail are partially mangled from hydra. anytime steve is near his tail manages to muster enough excitement to wag. he stays awake at night, sensitive ears twitching, paranoid there’s a threat around the corner.
hawk! hybrid sam, who complains about his wings being itchy. letting bucky preen him with a scowl, the metal fingers are nice and cold, and they aren’t oily, so they won’t mess up his wings. sometimes when surprised or unexpectedly hurt, he’ll squawk, he’ll deny it ever happened though.
cat! hybrid natasha who’s eyes are so often slitted, but if you get her any place warm her pupils are expanding instantly. the team puts red dots on targets as a joke, funny thing is, it actually helps her. she chases them down with a new vigour, just little mice under her palms. her tail doesn’t move, unless she’s incredibly relaxed. never shows her stomach.
snake! hybrid loki who has impressively sized fangs, scales that sometime appear on his skin. they shimmer between a dull green and a bright teal. he’s venomous, can control it though! only bit thor with a tiny bit of venom when they were little. his eyes are only sometimes reptilian, present in times he’s emotional or overly confident.
lion! hybrid thor, who roars when he finds something he likes so much! remember the cup smashing scene? yeah well he’s smashing it, roaring and then saying “another!” with a smile full of just teeth. who has cute little fluffy ears, lets all the avengers touch them, same as his tail. who when passionate, sprouts some fur on his cheeks, they become distractedly fuzzy. doesn’t realise for the longest time that he has retractable claws, once he finds out, they start accidentally popping out of his nails when he gets too excited or happy.
fox! hybrid tony who sometimes snickers like a traditional fox. purrs when he manages to get a good night of sleep, tail is often bushy and unkept, his ears are almost always covered by a hat. his suits have special sockets for his ears. after some time, with pepper’s help, he becomes more confident in his fox-like features and definitely models them. who eventually tries to get all the avengers on board with doing a hybrid photoshoot. he gets a lot of cravings for chicken and eggs.

If you want to know why the Loki fandom has drifted away, just look at what Disney/Marvel did to him.
He was incredibly powerful—they made him weak and helpless.
He was smarter than everyone else—they made him a fool.
He was a prince—they made him a corporate office drone. They literally put him in a cubicle.
Loki was an alien—they made him an ordinary guy.
He was flamboyant and colorful—they put him in beige. They actually made him act as if he was excited to wear a beige uniform.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The real Loki would never have tolerated a uniform of any sort, much less something so bland. He was never a soldier or a cog in the wheel. Loki is the piston.
Loki was a deeply wounded, angst-driven son with complex motivations—Disney made him an uncaring narcissist who suddenly sees the error of his ways (in one episode) and has a total personality swipe.
Loki was iconoclastic—they made him ordinary.
They took the most interesting and volatile character in the MCU and warped him into an Everyman role, and somehow everyone bought it. Apparently because they used the same actor with the same face—?
Really think about it. If another actor had started playing Loki for the series, they couldn’t have pulled it off. Series Loki is not the same character as Loki from Thor 1, Avengers 1, and Thor 2. He’s as different as the moviemakers in charge of the productions are. (The directors of Avengers 1 and Thor 2, Joss Whedon and Alan Taylor, simply had the grace and humility to take their cue from the original vision of Kenneth Branagh.)
If you don’t actually pay attention to Loki’s character, motivations, logical action, or his history, and you’re only interested in being entertained, I guess it doesn’t matter. This is just a superhero movie character, so who cares if they turned him inside out to conform with a simpler, less challenging archetype?
He’s their property, after all. They can use him however they want to. If they want to chew him up and spit him out as a naive, lovelorn mensch because that’s the Disney protagonist formula, they can and will. If they want to put him into a buddy-cop procedural, as if he were an ordinary human person whose shtick is a magic kit, they can.
A lot of you who are constantly defending the Loki Series are not really thinking about it. Maybe you’re just happy he has a show to his name. Maybe you don’t care; you just want more “content.” Maybe you don’t want someone spoiling your fun.
Maybe you think you’re being the loyal crowd by “defending” Loki. You’re not seeing that Disney did worse than kill him off—they unmade him. They put the God of Mischief into a blender with the Disney formula, audience response data, standard storytelling tropes, a limited range of plot lines, and a great deal of money, and out came this golem with Loki’s face on it.
You might revile me for saying all this because that’s easier than facing the truth or questioning the Powers That Be. There will always be people who can’t tolerate having their beliefs challenged.
I have seen nastiness on this hellsite toward people who question and protest what the majority accepts—but that’s just a reflection of the real world. It’s never going to work out well for those of us who see things differently and who don’t shut up about it. So, why do we keep annoying everyone with our dissenting opinions?
In my case it’s because I actually do care about Loki. I care enough to tell the unpopular truth, as I see it. Because, to me, Loki isn’t just an MCU character. He is representation.
He was a survivor of abuse and scapegoating by his own family. He was an outsider who defied convention and took on great challenges, despite everyone in his world trying to push him down. He shirked the role he was forced to play and chose to define himself instead. He saw the hate and scorn directed at him from all sides and laughed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He struck out on his own into the unknown—which is incredibly hard to do, even if you had been given the support to believe in yourself.
The Loki Series did get one thing right: Loki is a survivor. He’s survived misinterpretations before, and he will survive Disneyfication. Maybe the public will tolerate a warped mischaracterization of him for a while before they lose interest, but the God of Mischief prevails. Thor1 Loki will always be there, smirking triumphantly from the shadows.

I’ve always low-key (haha) had the headcanon that Narfi went to Valhalla because he fought back against Vali to try to get him to be sane again and that he’s just on a different floor than Floor 19
This headcanon is also usually accompanied by a scene of Sam and Alex trying to find any other children of Loki in Valhalla to form a support group and finding just this scared like 13 year old carbon copy of Loki who just wants to be left alone
Just thought I’d share bc I saw your trials of Loki au and the angst multiplied
Oooooh i love this!
I usually headcanon that they're either in Helhiem with Hel or (because according to Google Viking bodies were burned to help elevate spirits to their afterlife) their souls are kinda stuck in the chains.
But the amount of angst potential we have with your idea.
Cus Narfi being in Valhalla implies a few things. Either there was some reason a Valkryie at Narfi and Vali's death. Or the Aesir themselves decided to add salt to the wound to Loki because with Narfi being in valhalla means that he's gonna have to be on the other side in Ragnarok.
Also i feel like he'd just hate Sam cus shes a Valkryie. He probably hates all Valkryies with their association to Odin but the fact that one is his sister—his own blood is on the side that tore his family to shreds enrages him. He sees her as a traitor.
Oh and Alex is cool to him I guess lol
Also them trying to tell him that Loki is evil and him not listening to any of it.
Imagine if he joined the wedding crashing in Hammer of Thor. The amount of emotional damage it would cause to almost everyone involved.

Keeping up with the Waynes: Christmas Special, part 1
(OOC: TW: Very slight angst. It will be resolved with a happy ending in part 2. Very slight mentions of death, injuries. Nothing graphic. This one is a bit more serious, but I try to keep it as light-hearted as possible.)
*Hall of Justice; all the teams have gathered for their annual Superhero Christmas party on Christmas eve. After each team and/or family's individual Christmases, everybody gathers at the Hall of Justice in Central City for a huge Christmas party. Everybody from far and wide comes to catch up with all of their friends from across the multiverse. This year, the newest additions are the Avengers and the X-men.*
Me, spotting someone: THOR! LOKI! Oh my god, I'm so glad you made it!
Thor (Does he need an introduction?): Lady Spencer! We would not miss it! And also we had to see what sort of universe creates a person such as yourself.
Me: That is actually why most of these people are here. WIll the others be joining us?
Loki: Yes, well, it is a conundrum. The rest of them should be coming along shortly.
Me: Oh, wonderful! OH! You must meet my husband; Thor, you and Bucky, (when he gets here), will love him. JASON!
Jason, talking to Diana Prince and J'onn Jones: Coming!
*Jason somes over*
Jason: What's up, hon?
Me: I want you to meet Loki, Norse god of Mischief, and his brother Thor, God of Thunder.
Jason: Oh, yeah, hey! Spencer mentioned you all in her mission report a couple months ago. I've been wanting to meet you.
*Thor and Loki both stand agape*
Me: Are you ok?
Loki: Uh, yes. Yes! *Hits Thor* It's just that we've never seen someone dwarf my brother before.
Jason, laughing: Believe me, it took some getting used to.
Me: Very funny, Jason. Anyway, I thought you all might hit it off. Loki loves tricks and scheming to take over the world; Thor loves beer and fighting.
Jason: Tricks and scheming to take over the world? You have to meet my brother; Loki, you'll love him. TIM!
Tim, appearing with gigantic spiked coffee in his hand: Hello.
Loki: Hello?
Jason: Replacement! Loki here likes tricks and scheming to take over the world.
Loki: I also enjoy knives and using them to stab people.
Tim: You like knives and stabbing? You have got to meet my brother; Loki, you'll love him. DAMIAN!
Me: Ok, boys! Have fun. I think the rest of your people just came through the door, and I know my little brother has been dying to meet Sam.
*Spencer leaves that group while Damian begins excitedly showing his favorite knives to Loki, who admires them and in turn shows Damian his.*
Me, activating Wayne Family Comms: August, meet me by the fondue table in 3 minutes.
August, somewhere: Roger that.
*Three minutes later*
Me: August, this is Sam Wilson, known in his universe as the superhero Falcon.
Sam: Hey, August!
August: HI!
Me: I thought that since you both have wings, and since Hawkman and Hawkgirl are both AWOL this year, you may be able to help each other out with this whole flying thing.
Sam: Absolutely! What would you like to know?
August: Well, for one thing...
*Spencer walks away, and passes J'onn Jones and Professor Charles Xavier staring into each other's eyes, unblinking.*
Me: Evening, gentlemen. Enjoying yourselves?
J'onn: Yes. Professor Xavier and I were just having the most interesting conversation about molecular transfer.
Me: Telepathic, I assume.
Charles: Yes. I believe Mr. Jones' Martian abilities may be able to help us discover more about mutations than ever before.
Me: That's great! I do hope you come to a breakthrough.
*Spencer moves off and bumps into Bruce Wayne, who is engages in a lively conversation on modern technology with Tony Stark and Bruce Banner*
Bruce (Wayne): Hey, Spence!
Me: Hi, dad! Having fun?
Bruce (Wayne): Always do!
Me: Stay away from the tequila this year, please!
Bruce (Wayne), deadpan: You're hilarious.
Me: I know!
*Spencer moves through the crowd, and up onto the roof. A single person is sitting there, on an outdoor couch in front of a firepit*
Me: Hey, mom. Sorry I took so long.
Selina Kyle (Catwoman): Aww, it's ok, kiddo. I just got here a second ago myself. That Romanoff girl is fascinating!
Me, sitting down next to Selina: Natasha? Yeah. She's been through a lot.
Selina: How have you been doing?
Me: Horrible. I haven't told Jason.
Selina: Honey, you have to tell him.
Me: Oh, yeah. I just saunter up to him and say "Hey, you know a couple months ago when I was feeling super nauseous and sick every morning, but I went on that mission to Ancient Roman empire, and I got stabbed in the gut? Turns out, I was pregnant, and not only did I lose the baby I didn't know I had, but because if the stab wound, I can't have any more." Yeah, mom. That'll go over real well.
Selina: It will. You and Jason have been in love since before Bruce adopted him. I think he will understand. Just talk to him.
Me: I don't want to! Ugh! Emotions are so disgusting!
Selina: You and Jason have always been the best at communicating in our family.
Me: That's not saying much.
Selina: Sweetie, I know. I'm dating your father. Anyway, have you girls decided where we're going to go this year on our girls' trip?
Me: Steph, Babs, and I decided to let Cass choose this year, and she hasn't yet decided. I think she's torn between deep-sea diving and Yeti hunting.
Selina: I bet she'll go with Yeti hunting.
Me: It would be fun. We haven't done that in years.
Selina: Alright, before I let the subject change too much, promise me that you'll talk to Jason after Christmas.
Me: Ok. I promise.
Selina: Great!
Me: Ugh, why do I let you talk me into stuff?!
Selina: Because I'm your mother, and you love me.
Me: Yeah, yeah.
*Scene switches to Jason at the party, standing in a group with all of his brothers and some of the Avengers. His phone buzzes, and he pulls it out of his pocket. After reading it for a second, he turns and speed-walks out of the party, grabbing Roy by the arm and draggin him as he exits*
Roy: Woah, woah, Jay! What's up?
Jason: I need a drink.
Roy: It's Christmas Eve. Nothing's open.
Jason: Everything's open.
*They walk down the street a while before entering a small bar*
Roy, after their drinks arrive: So, wanna tell me why you just dragged me out of a very nice conversation with Donna (Donna Troy/ Wonder Girl)?
Jason: Spencer was pregnant.
Roy: I'm sorry, what?
Jason: Yep. Gideon just sent me the file. Spencer didn't even know until a couple of months ago.
Roy: Wow, ok. This is new. You said 'was'?
Jason: The stab wound from the Rome mission. It killed the baby and injured her so badly that she can't have any more kids.
Roy: Oh, wow. Um, ok. Have you talked about it?
Jason: She hasn't told me.
Roy: Oh, god. Ok, hang on. We're gonna need the bottle.
*After the bottle arrives*
Roy: Alright, from the top. Go.
*Two hours and several drinks later*
Roy: And so, she hasn't told you.
Jason: Right.
Roy: And you're mad at her.
Jason, sighing: No. I mean, what would I have done? I don't know how I would tell me if I was in her shoes.
Roy: True. It's got to be killing her.
Jason: Yeah. And I don't want her to be upset. I love her! I married her, for goodness sake.
Roy: Then wait.
Jason: For what?
Roy: For her to tell you. You two are the best at communication in your whole family.
Jason: That's not saying much.
Roy: Still, wait. She'll tell you.
Jason: I know. And I will be loving and understanding.
Roy: And sober.
Jason: Ooh, yeah, that's a good idea. Sober.
Roy: Let's go.
*Jason throws a $100 on the counter and they leave*
( Part 2 will be following soon.)

“Stay” he pleaded against your hair, “Give me one good reason”.
“I really…uhm” it wasn't the best moment to be at loss of words, but he tripped with all sorts of different sentences, not a single one made sense or was good enough to express how he felt.
He took way too long, in tears you sighed, putting your hands on his arms to force him release you, "I knew it" you murmured.
"Fuck" he cursed. Loki turned you around, closed the door with your back against it, and before you could protest he kissed you.
That kiss took you back to the beginning of the year. New year's eve, you just got back from a two week mission, that wasn't supposed to last two weeks.
You almost missed New year's eve, your plan was a night of sleep, not caring about the whole thing, because you were bruised and tired, because you just had to be undercover rescuing some dumb cop that got caught spying some mobsters.
Apparently it involved the avengers because the cop is a mutant of some sorts, so because of his dumb ass you were stuck in a dirty cell instead of celebrating.
And why you? Because no one else wanted to go, and you were late to the meeting. Stark had the laugh of his life.
Stark on the other hand, teared that plan to shreds with his whole event going on. There was no way to reach the dorms with the party in your way. Also with Natasha and Wanda being all over you to get you to stay and have fun.
You ended up staying because, what the hell, right? You needed the drink and to kick someone's ass for the horrible mission they threw you in.
After a lot of drinks, Thor saw pertinent introducing his brother to the team, seeing that no one would be within reason enough to refuse him, bold but smart move.
Loki, in your drunken eyes, was the most beautiful being you had ever seen, though, what came out of your mouth was simply humiliating.
You called him weird, because you believed aliens were supposed to be green skinned, he actually laughed and told you his actual skin color is blue, in his ever so sarcastically polite manner of course.
Since he was in a mean mood, your drunken ass had no other better idea than making him absolutely uncomfortable. "So if your skin is blue, then so is your tongue and your dick?" Everyone of course laughed at your dumb question, Thor on the other hand was a bit worried the temper of his brother might get him to set you on fire.
"You talk to me like that again, mortal, I dare you" his voice resonated through the room, making the other 'ooh' in response, like when a classmate is being called out by the teacher.
After a good laugh, you stood up, poked his leather covered chest and spoke, "Listen popsicle, I had a rough couple of weeks, okay? Threaten me again, and I'll throw you out that window" pointing the open window behind you. "You wouldn't dare" he lowered his head enough to be face to face with you, his lips very close to yours.
After a little snicker, you stole a kiss from him, "Behave handsome, and you'll never know" after a wink you sat again, taking a big sip out of your drink.
To say he was stunned was an understatement, he had his revenge though. After Wanda changed your liquor into water, pulling what you called a reverse Jesus, you weren't drunk enough for when Loki cornered you against a wall and kissed you.
"An eye for an eye, minx" he purred in your ear before vanishing in the air.
Funny, he swore you wouldn't remember, but when you reminded him of it the morning after, he spilled his coffee all over the kitchen counter.
--
"Please stay" he brought your mind back to the situation, "Ask the bitch you were with to satisfy you, she must be looking forward to fuck you" he chuckled at your spite, finding it both cute and alluring.
"Is that why you've been unbearable all week? You're jealous." His eyes shone with the power that emanated from within him, power that he knew he had over you.
"I'm not jealous." Your denial made him laugh, even more than he was already having fun with your anger. "Honey, if you wanted my attention so much, you should have told me." He closed the distance, raising one knee to separate your legs and have you closer. .
His goal must have been to devour you, because of the way his tongue tasted the inside of your mouth, a kiss that lit the candle of passion for him.
"Wait," you moved your face, breaking the kiss, searching for air more than anything. He waited a couple of seconds for you to say something else, that you didn't want him, that you hated him, with no response.
Your lack of words guided his hand to cup your neck, gently at first, then pulled roughly until he devoured your mouth again, biting, without regard, the soft flesh of your lips.
"Darling, I've realized how careless I am to leave your needs unattended, let me fix that" he lowered his head to your collarbone and from there to the base of your ear he licked like a wolf getting a taste of his prey. The sensation sent a shiver down your spine.
You wanted to resist, but his kisses, ever so skillful, his hands traveling from your ass to your hips, just enough to hug them and lift you up, automatically you hooked your legs behind his back, then your hands flew to hang on his shoulders, for support. It was all too much.
This is what he does to get you in motion, you knew it. He pulls you up and then you're so lost in him, there's not enough sense that can overthrow your hunger for his clever touch, the bites he likes to leave as he goes down on you, his smart silver tongue against your clit.
In one swift motion, he laid you down on his bed, still having at least one hand on your hips to keep you grounded.
He wanted to have you again, fast. You, were doomed and lost in his caresses, your hands were all over his back and hair, his own matching your movements, while his pelvis teased yours, thrust after thrust, both undergarments were soaking wet.
As time went by, your doubts dissipated, all that remained was the lust you felt for the evil-born god, who with his hands got rid of all excess clothing. He didn't pay any attention to your lingerie, much less to your wounds. His cock was no mystery to you, he was huge and veiny, perfect for touching all those internal areas that needed his attention, and boy was he good at using it.
His hips collided with yours with each thrust, the sound of skin touching and the wet sound filled the room, as did your moans and his.
Ecstasy was a word you wouldn't use for that moment, there was a knock at the door, and it turned out to be none other than the bitch who accompanied him to the party, which made Loki hit you much harder to divert your attention.
He pulled out of you for a few seconds, then pulled your body towards him, rotating your hips until you were on all fours. He grabbed your hair and he continued fucking you, the thrusts getting stronger and more accurate, hitting every single spot he knows make you week.
"You're mine, to touch, to have, only mine" he breathed against your ear, to which you couldn't respond, the heat clouded your senses, a warm feeling crawled up your core to your chest, a feeling you knew the meaning.
"I love the way you squeeze me when you cum" he said in between panted laughs, "Now, stay, please" you shook your head, "Please love" he then pulled out, grabbed his boxers and came inside them. Disgusted, he threw them on the sink in the bathroom and left the water running on it, until they were soaked, then turned it off and returned to your defeated, tired and ashamed being.
He reached for you as soon as he positioned by your side, but you rolled away from him, "Darling, my sweet love" his hand caressed yours, it was so warm, but of course your pride was stronger than your love for him, so you moved it away from his touch.
"You're still mad at me?" he sounded so surprised, so you laughed, sarcastically obviously. "All this time, you made me believe that you liked me enough".
"What do you mean? I like you," you didn't want to believe anything he said at that moment, "But you still go out with other women, you kiss me, you fuck me and I'm still not enough," again he was left without explanations, " Honey, that's not-" he tried, but he stopped himself, biting his tongue before saying something he'd regret.
"I don't care, you made me think you wanted more than just a quick fuck, but then it was slut after slut" you stood up, first putting on your bra, then your stockings, then your dress, your shoes were actually too much for the state of your legs, so you had them hanging
“Y/n” he called out to you, but you still hadn’t gotten everything out of your chest.
"I'm sick of this, Loki, I don’t wanna do this anymore" holding a tear behind while saying it, burned, but you had to either draw the line or break the cycle.
"But I do like you" that wasn't enough, he thought, still being at loss of proper thinking.
"That’s not the point, horns" he saw in your eyes, and on the way you were hugging your shoes close to your figure, a way to feel your words, deep inside him they resonated.
But before he could feel bad, "It's been a while since you called me that" he purred that sentence like a way to ease the tension.
But you huffed and rolled your eyes, making him lose some of the sanity he had left, "Norns woman, will you tell me what I did wrong?".
"Geez Loki, do I have to think for you too? You used to be so witty, maybe the whores sucked off your brain too"
“Right, stay mad at me for absolutely no reason then, that’s fine by me”
"No reason? I wasted a year of my life to a god, that resulted no different from a regular human asshole"
“Mind your words, mortal”
“Funny, I thought you liked my dirty mouth, horns”
“Just tell me what I can do”
“Figure it out”
As soon as he saw you leave the room, he jumped out of bed, dressed with a spell, and ran after you. The sounds of the party were getting louder, obviously the party continued, a simple fight was always part of Stark's meetings, so people saw it as something common.
“Y/n, you were right” he caught your arm, just before you stepped out to the living room. “I started feeling things for you, but, I couldn’t bring myself to fill in the role of partner you need, not because I didn’t wanted to, the reason is unknown to me” his doubt was the only reason you needed to know that he was still the same prince that blew up his own planet a year ago.
“Sounds void to me” your coldness gave his frozen heart frostbite, so full of truth nonetheless, “I know, but I can’t afford to lose you” it had to stop, you thought, “But you can’t bring yourself to love me properly” you slipped your hand from his touch, “I…We need to stop, I can’t with this”.
It's hard to let go of something you thought you loved but that was destroying you with every kiss and empty promise, but the feeling of freedom that invaded you after a month of detox was unmatched.
Finally, after a month, you stopped caring who he was dating or not, and also the gifts he left at your door, with letters begging for your forgiveness. "You're forgiven, Loki, I'm just not interested in having anything with someone who doesn't know how to take things with responsibility and commitment," much less with a prince who has always had everything on a silver platter and women who lined up to have sex with him.
Maybe he was much more than that, but you didn't know, he never let you see beyond his superficial way of being. You saw some vulnerability when he hugged you after sex and stayed with you until the next morning, and then he said goodbye with a kiss, but after so much pain, you started to doubt if he was really opening up to you, or it was only the reflection his exterior facade.
Either way, life goes on, and so did you.

You laid on your back, staring at the ceiling when his voice cut through your thoughts "same time next week?" You heard, looking over watching Loki buckle the belt of his pants, arousal pooling between your thighs watching his biceps flex with each movement, the muscles in his strong chest rippling under that perfect skin of his making you clench your thighs together "y/n?" You heard again, your eyes shooting up to his seeing him smile "do you think you will make it that long?" He laughed grabbing his shirt "y...yeah...I'll be fine." You huffed pulling the sheet up covering your chest "are you certain? You look as though you are about to devour me." He laughed again pulling the shirt over his head.
You sighed, looking back to the ceiling "Goodnight Loki." You said closing your eyes. You heard the light rustle of fabric before the bed dipped next to you "y/n, are you..." you cut him off rolling to your side "I'm fine...you better go before someone sees." You rushed out, trying to keep the tremble from your voice when you felt the weight leave the bed. "Very well, goodnight y/n." He whispered. You kept your eyes closed as you heard your door open and close with a quiet click. Turning over you confirmed he was gone, the sudden loneliness threatening to consume you as you got up and headed towards the en suite. You turned on the water, stepping inside you let the hot water flow over you, washing away his touch.
You and Loki had been doing this awhile, "releasing tension" as he phrased it, but if you were honest it was sneaking around, hiding in dark corners, secret rendezvous that no one knew about under the ruse of preparing for missions as he stripped you bare, exposing you to your soul as he happily consumed every part of you...and you let him. You would happily let him drag you to the pits of hell just to feel his touch...his lips exploring every inch of your skin. He was like a drug and you were addicted...you needed him, craved him and you hated yourself for it. You took a deep breath closing your eyes remembering the night a couple of weeks ago at one of Tony's parties when the reality of your situation slapped you in the face.
You sat at the bar, ordering another drink as you watched your secret lover surrounded by a small group of women. "Lady y/n, what are you doing over here?" You heard Thor asked as he took the seat next to you "oh, you know...having fun." You snarked downing your drink as you saw a red headed woman press herself againt Loki. "You should talk with him." Thor said making your eyes shoot to his "I know you like him, you only need tell him." Thor smiled making you laugh "Thor, do you see those women?" You asked watching him turn his head "now you see me?" You asked as he turned back "I'll never measure up to...that." you snarked waving the bartender over. "Y/n, they are vapid, empty vessels...you are so much more then that." He said as you shook your head.
"I'll make you a deal, you go over and talk to him, tell him how you feel and if he is fool enough to turn you down I will never speak of it again." He said making you sigh "and I'll punch him for you." He added making you laugh. "Fine...deal." You said standing up you adjusted your dress taking a deep breath "ok...here goes." You said beginning your walk towards the man you cursed everyday. You knew what was about to happen, but you also knew Thor wouldn't let up so you continued on "maybe he'll actually say yes" you thought as his eyes shot to yours, his body tensing as you came up on him. "H..hey Loki, I was wondering if I could talk to you a sec?" You asked biting your lip seeing him smile "and why would I do that?" He snarked making you fidget.
You shifted on your feet hearing the red head laugh "is she your girlfriend?" She asked as you looked into Loki's eyes "absolutely not...look at her." He said as the small group began laughing. "L..loki, i..." you trailed off watching him wrap his arm around the redhead "hurry up please, I was about to turn in for the night." He smiled looking at her as she giggled "n...nevermind, sorry I bothered you." You said quickly turning and heading back towards the bar, seeing Thor had abandoned you as well you turned back to the dancefloor as Loki's eyes again met yours, grabbing the woman's hand as he led her out towards the hall. You turned back, ordering another drink as you attempted to drown your sorrows. You knew he wasn't yours, you weren't together...but why did it feel like you chest was just ripped open...
You turned off the water, grabbing a towel you walked out to your closet grabbing a pair of shorts and a tank top you got dressed before sitting at your vanity grabbing your brush. You stared at yourself in the mirror, you hair a jumbled mess...as it always was after a tryst with Loki...reaching up you started working out the tangles, the long purple streak poking out as you continued your work. You had always had it as long as you could recall, almost like a birthmark. Smiling remembering Thor and the rest of the team commenting "that's how we always know it's you." Because no matter what shape you took, your purple steak was always there.
You set the brush down turning off the lights as you headed back to bed, climbing in you were overtaken by the sent of Loki that still lingered in the sheets. "Why..." you breathed, feeling a lump in your throat as you rolled over, tears welling in your eyes as your mind finally gave into what your heart decided long ago...you were in love with him...every part of your soul called to him, but you also knew he would never love you in return. "I have to end this." You said to yourself as you pulled the blankets up around you deciding that tomorrow you would put yourself out of your own misery and end the farce with the God.

(Third pov)-
Loki sat in his chair in the library, attempting for the fourth time to read the same paragraph "dammit!" He yelled slamming it shut tossing it on the table. It had been a month since you had told him your "arrangment" was over and his mind continued to reel from the news. It had taken everything in him not to chase after you, fall to his knees and beg you to stay...but he couldn't. He couldn't let anyone find out about you, how he felt about you...it would kill him if something were to happen to you so he did what he did best and kept you at arms length, never allowing you to get close to him. "It was better that way" he had told himself numerous times, but the day you called it off he could see the tears in your eyes despite your efforts, his fingers twitching to cup your cheek, the tiredness in your voice as you told him you couldn't do it anymore making him want to wrap his arms around you and hold you to his chest.
A loud thud sounded from the next room pulling him from his circling thoughts. "What the..." he trailed off getting him up he cracked the door open, seeing a familiar streak of purple as you turned your head looking around. "Shit.." you huffed rubbing your knee looking back down to the end table you apparently ran into. "Keep it down." You scolded the table making Loki smile as you slipped your leather jacket on, leaning over grabbing a gym bag from the floor slinging it over your shoulder. Loki leaned back glancing at the clock seeing it was one in the morning as he turned back to the door, barely able to see you disappear around the corner towards the elevators. "Where are you off to little mouse?" He said stepping out into the room, slowly closing the door behind him he quickly followed after you, stopping at the corner peeking around seeing you shifting back and forth waiting for the elevator.
He leaned back smoothing his shirt as he cleared his throat about to confront you "Loki? What are you doing?" He heard, his head snapping to the side seeing bucky walk out of his room "i...um...you see..." Loki stuttered, looking back around the corner seeing your were gone. Sighing he turned back "I must have been sleepwalking...I'll just head back to my room." Loki said walking past him "thank you for your assistance James." He said patting bucky on the shoulder as he passed. "Uh...no problem." Bucky said running a hand through his hair. Loki made it to his room, quickly shutting the door letting out the breath he was holding. "Why would she be going out so late?" He asked himself as he walked in sitting down on the couch "who is she meeting?" He asked sitting back running a hand through his hair "is she...maybe she is seeing someone." He said closing his eyes "but who goes on a date in the middle of the night?" He said sitting back up.
He needed answers, and you were the only one who could give them to him. He got up turning the lights off before heading to the bedroom, waving his hand he used his seidr to change into his green silk sleep pants as he climbed into bed. "I'll corner her tomorrow, I'll make her tell me." He said confidently as he closed his eyes trying to sleep, his anxiety beginning to rise wondering if you were ok, if you were meeting shady people making him sit back up. "I'll just text her...really quick." He said grabbing his phone from the nightstand.
He unlocked it pulling up the conversation with you, seeing the last message from you was "we need to talk." He sighed, typing a quick "Hello, I just wanted to see how you are doing." Before leaning back against the headboard waiting. What felt like an eternity later a message popped up on his phone, opening it seeing your name "leave me alone Loki." He read, taking a deep breath as he set the phone down. "Well atleast she's ok." He said laying back down he rolled to his side closing his eyes again hoping sleep would find him.
It took Loki three days to finally catch up with you, if he was honest he was impressed by how well you avoided him, until one day there was a team meeting he knew you couldn't get out of. So he sat in the back, glancing at the back of your chair every so often listening to the captain drone on and on about safety procedures when Tony stood up with a smile "ok kids, don't jump off any building or light yourself on fire and stay away from bb guns...meeting ajourned." He said as he walked to the door and everyone stood up. Loki waited patiently for everyone to leave, making his way towards the door when your eyes met his, a sadness in them he hadn't seen before as you quickly looked away grabbing your files you put your head down walking towards the door "y/n, may I have a moment?" He asked seeing your eyes close as you stopped.
"What is it Loki?" You asked still not looking at him. "why haven't you been speaking to me?" He asked as gently as possible as you shook your head "ive been busy, I need to go." You said grabbing the door knob when he put his hand on yours "y/n please, i...I miss you." He said as your eyes shot to his, up close he saw the dark circles hovering just beneath your red puffy eyes making his heart ache "i...we are still friends are we not?" He asked taking a small step forward "Loki...i...." you trailed off looking down again "i...I can't be that for you right now." You whispered gripping the knob tighter "why? I thought..." he was cut off as you yanked your hand back "I just...I can't ok!" You yelled making him jump "i can't be around you right now!" You yelled again clenching your fists "what have I done? Tell me...because our agreement was...that wouldn't ruin our friendship." He said raising his voice.
"Loki, drop it." You growled stepping towards the door "no, I will not!" Loki yelled making you flinch "I want to know what I have done to make you hate me." He said searching your eyes. "I...I don't hate you Loki i..." you looked done squeezing your eyes shut "just...leave me alone ok." You said quickly opening the door before he could say anything else slamming the it behind you. Loki stood staring at the spot you had just occupied, his mind running a mile a minute as he tried to understand what went wrong between you. Clearing his throat he smoothed his shirt down slowly opening the door seeing Thor in the hallway "is everything alright brother? Y/n seemed upset." He asked as Loki walked past him "everything is perfect." He sneered as he made his way to his room. "If she isn't going to talk to me, then I'll follow her." He said to himself as he grabbed a book and sat in his chair, making sure to keep an eye on the clock.

Loki made his way to the common room around the time you left last time. Making sure to cloak himself so you wouldn't see him he patiently waited until he heard footsteps coming down the hall, your head slowly peaking out around the corner "ok good." You whispered as you made your way again towards the elevators, looking over your shoulder constantly as you pushed the button. "Come on." You said shifting back and forth when it dinged, the doors sliding open you ran inside quickly pushing the button to the bottom floor. Loki followed you for what felt like an eternity before coming up on a dimly lit building, neon signs on the outside claiming it to be some sort of bar he watched you run inside, quickly following after you but as he walked in you were nowhere to be seen. "Shit." He muttered as he dropped his seidr.
He looked around seeing everyone in ripped jeans and t-shirts. The smell of cigarette smoke heavy in the packed room. "Where did you go little mouse." He said to himself making his way to the bar "what can I get ya?" The bartender asked tossing a towel over his shoulder "whiskey please." Loki said quickly flicking his wrist he changed onto the appropriate clothing as the bartender brought over a glass and bottle "what is this place?" Loki asked the man as he set a few dollar bills on the bar "just a place where people can let off a little steam." The man said grabbing the money as he walked off when another man walked out onto a stage at the front of the room "Alright everyone, you know what time it is!" The man yelled as everyone began cheering "he's finally made it, so without further ado I give you...Adam!" He yelled as everyone got up and rushed the stage.
Loki sat at the bar as the lights dimmed, a spotlight shining in the middle of the stage seeing a tall red headed man wearing black ripped jeans and combat boots, a dark grey sweatshirt with with an odd design on the front rolled up to his elbows walked out holding a forest green electric guitar "Hey eveyone! Sorry I was late." He said, Loki squinted at the man as he spoke, there was something oddly familiar about him but he couldn't quite place it "this song is dedicated to someone..." he trailed off looking down "just...someone." He said turning to look at the band, Loki's eyes widening seeing a streak of purple in the mans long crimson hair, the shine in his eyes calling to him under the thick layer of black eyeliner "y/n." He whispered slowly standing up. "And one...two...three..." you said grabbing the microphone with both hands.
I'm so addicted to....All the things you do,
When you're going down on me....In between the sheets
Oh, the sounds you make, With every breath you take, It's unlike anything....When you're loving me
Loki looked on speechless as you wrapped your long fingers around the neck of the guitar, your black nail polish reflecting the light as you l pressed your lips back to the microphone.
Ooh, boy, let's take it slow
So as for you, well....you know where to go
I wanna take my love and hate you 'til the end
It felt like a string was attached to him pulling him forward as his feet carried him closer to the stage, mesmerized as your fingers danced along the neck of the guitar.
It's not like you to turn away, From all the bullshit I can't take....It's not like me to walk away
He watched you screw your eyes shut, leaning into the mic as you inhaled deeply.
I'm so addicted to....All the things you do
When you're going down on me, in between the sheets, Oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take, it's unlike anything
When you're loving me....Yeah
You took a small step back, looking down at your fingers as you strummed your guitar, your long hair curtaining your eyes as you bobbed your head up and down.
And I know when it's getting rough....All the times we spend
Trying to make this love something better than
Just making up again
"Someone..." loki breathed, watching you rock back and forth keeping your eyes closed as you shook your head slightly.
It's not like you to turn away
All the bullshit I can't take
Just when I think I can walk away
Loki watched you spread your legs wide, one foot stomping on the floor to the rhythm of the drums. You were majestic...ethereal like this.
I'm so addicted to, All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets...oh, the sounds you make
With every breath you take
It's unlike anything...I'm so addicted to
The things you do....When you're going down on me
Oh, the sounds you make...With every breath you take
It's unlike anything....When you're loving me
Yeah.....When you're loving me
You practically screamed the lyrics, the emotion bleeding through your voice into the mic as you stepped back, taking long strides across the stage, your fingers moving rapidly up and down the arm as you played your solo. When you turned and went back to the mic Loki watched your eyes open, his heart breaking seeing a tear slide down your cheek
How can I make it through
All the things you do
There's just gotta be more to you and me
Your voice wavering at the last word as you put your head down again and backed up Loki could swear he heard a sniffle as you lunged forward your hand slamming down across the strings
I'm so addicted to....All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Oh, the sounds you make....With every breath you take
It's unlike anything....It's unlike anything
I'm so addicted to....All the things you do
When you're going down on meeeeee
Oh, the sounds you make....With every breath you take
It's unlike anythiiiiiiing......I'm so addicted to you
Addicted to you.....
With a last hard strum you held your arms out putting your head down as the mass of people screamed and hollered. The claps almost deafening making Loki wince as he looked up to you again seeing you smile but it didn't reach your eyes, the black eyeliner you had on running down your cheek "thank you everyone, you've all been amazing!" You yelled pulling the guitar over your head he watched you retreat to the side of the stage. "Let's give it up again for adam!" The announcer yelled as Loki walked towards the stage door seeing a large man blocking the door when a small group of woman ran up "can we see adam?" One asked jumping up and down. Loki felt a pain shoot through his chest, his cheeks heating up at the thought of what you were doing back there, were these strangers better then him...is that why you broke things off, you were getting your fill here...he thought when the man cleared his throat "no visitors tonight ladies, sorry." He said as they whined making Loki smile.
Loki looked up to the stage, seeing where you walked to empty. He closed his eyes concentrating, opening them seeing a small hallway leading to the back. "Now where are you?" He said taking long strides down the hall, looking back to make sure no one saw him when he came up to a door with a bright yellow star taped to it, "Adam" written in bold letters "there you are." He said to himself walking up to the door he looked down the hall again seeing he was alone as he lifted his fist to knock when a sniffle reached his ears making him freeze. "Y/n" He whispered, pressing his ear to the door heard a small whimper "why...why you." He heard you voice tremble before backing up. Taking a deep breath he raised his hand again knocking when he heard footsteps on the other side. "I said no..." you trailed off opening the door, your body stiffening as your eyes met.
Loki stood frozen on the spot taking you in having never seen you in this form before. you were almost as tall as him, your jeans hugging your lean frame perfectly, your hair reminding him of the widows as it swept across your forehead, but he knew...his heart knew it was you as his eyes met yours again "Adam I believe?" Loki asked smiling "um..yeah..yes." you stuttered not breaking eye contact "may I come in?" Loki asked seeing you fidget with your hand "um...sure." You said stepping to the side letting him in. "I rather enjoyed your song, you are very talented." Loki said walking in looking around the small room "um...thanks." You said closing the door. "You must be very popular with the ladies yes?" Loki asked crossing his arms hearing you laugh "i...maybe...I don't know." You shrugged walking to the middle of the room.
"You know...you remind me of someone." Loki said taking a step towards you "oh?" You muttered looking to your feet "yes, they are very dear to me...a friend, well...was until recently." Loki said taking another step forward "but you see...I was a fool." He continued as your eyes met his "I never told them what was in my heart...and I'm afraid I may have lost them." He continued coming to stand in front of you "w...well you could talk to them...tell her." You said as Loki shook his head looking down "no, words are meaningless, empty...i...I must show her how I feel." Loki said looking back up to you. "H...how?" You asked biting your lip "oh my dove..." loki whispered reaching his hand up running this thumb along your lip pulling it from between your teeth as he leaned forward, his nose brushing yours "I will spend every day showing you...telling you...proving to you how much you mean to me." He breathed "Loki..." you whispered as he closed the gap, gently pressing his lips to yours.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, your hand tangling in his long curls deepening the kiss. Pulling his hair at the nape he moaned against your lips as you slipped you tongue into his mouth tangling with his when you felt his arm snake around your side pulling your hips to his as he growled into your mouth when he suddenly pulled back biting your lip "have you ever been taken in this form?" He panted kissing you again as he walked you backwards, your back meeting the wall as his lips traveled across your jaw, his hand holding the side of your head as he nipped the skin of your neck "n...no..." you panted, arching your back into him as he sucked hard on your pulse point, your nails digging into his shoulder. "Mmm...may I be your first?" He panted against your skin, leaning back looking into your eyes everything hitting you at once "I love you Loki." You breathed feeling tears well in your eyes, a weight lifting off your chest at finally confessing "I love you too, I love you so much." He smiled "I am so sorry I didn't say it sooner." He said cupping your cheek "be with me y/n, be mine...no more hiding, no more sneaking around...I wish everyone to know that my heart is yours, and only yours." Loki said. You couldn't stop the sob that passed your lips hearing his words as tears steamed down your cheeks.
"Please...make me yours Loki." You whispered as his lips crashed to yours, kissing you passionately as he pressed you into the wall, the salt of your tears mixing with the taste of him making you groan as he rocked his hips against yours feeling his hard length press against your stomach "Loki..." you breathed against his lips as he pulled back flipping you around pressing your front to the wall "remember that night we wanted to try something new?" He whispered in your ear, a shudder running through you at the memory "y...yes." you moaned feeling his fingers at the button of your jeans "relax for me...I'll be gentle." He breathed against the skin under your ear as he bit down "aahh...loki..." you moaned as his hand slid down, his long fingers wrapping around your cock
"f...fuck.." you moaned, your head falling back against his shoulder as he rocked his hips against your ass "mm...im impressed." He said slowly moving his hand up and down "I may need to feel you one day." He moaned digging his other hand into your hair, tilting your head his lips met yours his tongue diving past you parted lips licking into your mouth. Rocking your hips with his hand you felt the familiar tightening in your lower stomach as he sped up, crying out as his thumb swiped along the tip "feels good doesn't it?" Loki panted smiling down at you "f...fuck...yes..." you panted bracing your hands on the wall "ah ah...not yet my dove." He whispered slowly releasing you, unable to stop the whimper at the loss of his touch hearing him laugh "l...loki...please..." you moaned rocking your hips back into his.
"Patience, I have to prepare you first." Loki said when you heard a bottle pop open "spread those beautiful legs for me." He whispered in your ear as you quickly did what he asked "good boy." He breathed, a tingle running up your spine feeling his fingers at the hem of your jeans "deep breaths, I will go slow." He purred pulling your jeans down "and if you wish to stop..." he said stopping his movements "s...say Asgard." You panted closing your eyes feeling his breath against your ear "good boy." He whispered nipping your ear when you felt his hand cup you ass "mmm....you never cease to amaze me." He said as you felt something cold press between your cheeks "are you ready dove?" He asked as you nodded "I need to hear you say it." He said stenrly gripping your hair "aahh y..yes!" You cried out feeling his long finger slip past your tight hole "Mm very good..." he purred into your ear as he slowly pulled out before pushing back in.
"f...fuck...Loki...." you moaned feeling him add another finger "almost there darling, keep breathing for me." He cooed as he added a third, your back arching as his finger grazed that spot inside you "Mm there it is." He moaned rocking his hips into you. You were a panting moaning mess when he suddenly stopped "i...I have to feel you." He moaned slowly pulling his fingers from you, whining at the emptiness "ah ah...be a good boy." He cooed lifting his hand a green light flashed over you, shivering as the cold air hit your bare skin. "That's better." He purred, freezing feeling his cock press between your cheeks "deep breath...and relax." He said as he genlty kicked your legs further apart, his hand gripping your hip pulling you towards him. "I...I'm ready." You moaned feeling his cock press against your entrance
"very good." He purred as he began to press into you "gooods...y/n." He moaned as he pulled back slightly before pressing further in "aaahh...sh...shit...." you gasped as he stretched you to your limit "that's it dove." He praised, slowly pushing forward "your taking me...aaahhh so...well." he moaned as he snapped his hips forward, digging your nails into the wall crying out as he bottomed out. "F...fuck y...your so...big." you panted screwing your eyes shut hearing him laugh "and your s...so tight." He growled shifting his hips letting you adjust to him. "Loki please....move..." you groaned needing to feel him immediately. "As you wish dove." He said pressing his chest to your back his fingers dug into your hip hard as he slowly pulled back "you are...divine." he moaned as he rocked back into you, your hand reaching around gripping his thigh as he sped up "f....fuck....lo...." you groaned when his hand dug into your hair.
pulling your head back his tongue dove into your mouth when you felt his other hand slide around your front his fingers wrapping tightly around your cock "aaahh...god...." you moaned into his mouth as his hand sped up, feeling yourself twitch in his tight grip "come for me y/n....give me everything." He panted against your lips as you came hard, screaming his name to the heavens like a prayer gasping at the sensation "f..fuck....that's it...." he growled snapping his hips hard into you. "C....come inside me Loki...I...I need it." You growled.
his hand gripped your hip, the other lacing around your chest, his fingers digging into your shoulder holding you tight to his chest his, you knew there would be bruises making you smile "f..fuck....guder ... du eier meg .." he panted, his hot breath licking the skin of your neck as he planted his feet, his hips slamming into you "hjerte og sjel...jeg er din...aahhh fuck....y/n i....i jeg elsker deg duen min!" He yelled as he thrust hard into you, holding himself there you gasped feeling him fill you, his cock twitching inside you "h...holy s...shit...." he panted laying his head on your shoulder he rocked his hips slowly riding through his high as he stilled inside you. "L...loki...." you panted turning your head "y..you...you are Valhalla my dear." He said slowly lifting his head he eased out of you, shivering feeling his seed seep out down your thigh "allow me." He breathed, raising his hand a wave of green washed over you again cleaning you up when your thoughts began to race.
"What are you thinking dove?" He asked as you turned to face him, your clothes rematerializing "umm, is this...was that because im..." you started, waving your hand over yourself looking down "y/n, look at me." He said sternly making you look back up "it's just that...I know you've been with men too, and that's ok!...I just..." you were cut off by his lips on yours, this time it was soft...loving...like he was trying to convey everything into the kiss before he pulled back cupping your face "yes, I have been with men, and women..." he said caressing your cheeks with his thumbs "but this...you and i...is because I love you...in whatever form you are in...I love your heart, your soul, your spirit, your kindness...I love you y/n and only you." He said sternly leaving no room for argument.
You nodded smiling up at him "I love you too Loki, so much it hurts." You said as he leaned forward pecking your lips before pulling you into a tight hug. "I know we started off a bit backwards, but I would like to court you, take you to dinner, the theater, anything you want." He said kissing the top of your head "I'd like that, very much Loki." You said as he pulled back smiling at you "and I was thinking...if you want to..." he smiled, a pink flush on his cheeks "I can umm...I can shift into a female form." He said looking sheepishly at you making you smile "loki laufeyson...I believe your blushing." You laughed seeing his cheeks turn a deeper red "I would still be in charge of course." He said clearing his throat. "That's what you think." You snarked grabbing his hand
"Let's go home..." you said pulling him towards the door "we can go to my room and watch a movie." You smiled opening the door "I'd like that very much." He said following behind you "and maybe you can show me this...form of yours." You winked seeing his cheeks brighten again "as you wish my dove." He said smiling. "And by the way." You said grabbing his shoulders pinning him to the wall you leaned forward pressing your lips to his ear "if you don't behave...I'll bend you over my knee." You whispered feeling him shiver, pulling back seeing his usual pale skin red "y...yes ma'am." He stuttered making you smile. "Good boy." You winked pecking his cheek as you pulled him along behind you, excited to see what the future had in store for you and your king.
