I was mindlessly browsing mercari jp (as one does) when this gem caught my eye. According to the seller, it’s ultra rare yoshitaka amano art of Lightning and Odin, and rare is right, because I’ve never seen this art before?? I even tried to delve deep and search to see if I could find it somewhere else, but it seems no one has ever mentioned it before?

From yen to US dollars, it’s selling for 66k, which is wild, but for something as rare as this, I’m not surprised. There’s even people in the comments bidding for it from what I can see through translations. The seller themselves seems to have a good track record, and is selling one other amano art piece, fully framed just like this one.

That just makes me wonder the origins of this,,could it have been from an auction? An exhibition? I’m tempted to contact the seller just to know where it came from tbh

Regardless I still find the piece very beautiful, I was blindsided when I came across it while browsing. I honestly wished I had that kind of money just to have it, but alas😭😭
