Jet-Skiing through identity: A deep dive into Mobius M. Mobius (part 4)🛥️
"And I'm yours but you're not mine" (Say Don't Go)
That's Mobius in season 1, because from all we know, he was the one to fall first. A fall that, just like domino pieces, results in a beautiful union of...well, everything.
But now, in season 2, his love is finally reciprocated. He showed Loki something they hadn't seen in themselves. And not only he loved them, but proved to Loki why they're deserving of that love as well. And now that he is finally appreciated and seen by the last person he was expecting, he also gets the insight he never knew he was looking for. This is like always running from something right into the chasm, until someone takes your hand and makes you stop. Even if it means facing your fears.
Open first episode of season 2, when the entire Loki legion was on the verge of a heart attack waiting to see what will happen. (That's actually me, I think I'm not alone). Those were crazy times indeed. Now, to our Mobius: a relative present version of him, not the one that didn't recognize Loki. That was scary. His first line is:
<<Hey, everything you've been doing is wrong, and all your gods are dead. How are people gonna take that?>>
I interpret this as his own thoughts and feelings projected on the collective. It's true for them, but it's relatable to Mobius.
And after all, why would everyone at the TVA believe all this time? The same reason as why we do it: we want to: that's where it all starts. And for someone like Mobius, who didn't believe in himself, it was much more logical to believe in the time gods. Putting the blame on fate takes the burden off your shoulders. But no burden, no glory. Few of them had guts to admit. But even indirectly, Mobius did (and has been for a while).
Backing the argument that he cares about Loki, and that he fell first, his reaction to hearing his name from Casey is immaculate.
Tumblr media
He immediately tries to figure out a way to locate him. He might take a more "slow, deliberate approach", but not when he knows people he cares about are in danger. Not when he can still help.
Then, to X-5's attempt to make him feel bad about his spot on the original timeline, he responds with a neutral approach, not letting such things get to him. He even goes to explaining why jet-skis are so cool. This is something that shows how passionate Mobius can be about the things he likes. I don't think he would do this if he wouldn't be provoked in some sort of way, because the total absence of interest from others can kill a spark pretty quick. But he doesn't let it go just because no one around him sees jet-skis as important as he does. I love him for it.
His pure care for Loki and the way he comforts them the best he can is also very important in this episode. Mobius does his best to calm Loki down, trying to see the situation from an outside point of view so it can be solved efficiently. He's there, he doesn't let Loki down, and we know he would never; "Okay, you wanted time to think, so let's think." - as in let's think together, you're not alone.
Tumblr media
Also, when Loki rushes to find Sylvie so they can fix what is happening, Mobius slows him down. He knows Loki wouldn't take the time to take care of themselves, so he does it for him, knowing exactly how much to insist, and that the timeslipping can't be let out if control for a long while.
Another trait resulting from the episode is sort of a disapproval avoidance, from the convo with O.B. Mobius obviously had his memory wiped and doesn't remember him, but doesn't admit it: it could hurt this nice guy and make him look like a fool (it wouldn't, really. he didn't have to worry abt it).
Then, at the end of the episode, this care (LOVE!!!) he carries for Loki is once again is highlighted:
Tumblr media
Because, even at the risk of losing his skin (and, jokes aside, losing his life), Mobius still waits over the limit for Loki to make it back. What was I saying about believing? Even if the gods of the TVA are dead, the God of Mischief isn't. And Mobius always believed in him.

So much to mull over from last night's Chicago Fire episode. But the thing that gets me angry is how much the writers have chosen to take certain storylines.
I was very hesitant when they first started introducing the idea of Sylvie and Matt. Not because I was a fan of his previous relationship but what it was going to mean to the character of Sylvie because she would ultimately be seen as the other woman. I'm not a fan of the whole 'girl code/guy code', it's a very dated notion that says friendships must come before anything else. Or that notion of still having claim or stake over someone when the relationship is clearly over. I don't think Sylvie or Matt did anything wrong or betrayed Gabby in any way since the idea of them being together happen so long after his divorce.
With that said, if the writers are going to chose to go this route, they should also be prepared for backlash but they also have to protect the characters who they gave thrown into that storyline. Since the start of Matt and Sylvie's relationship only one half of the party has gotten immense backlash and hurtful comments said about them (this also extends to the actress playing the part by some of the fans). To include that very small scene in last night's episode just adds unnecessary fuel to the fire. It's not fair to the only character still on the show who was part of the "triangle" to be the only one to continue to recieved hate.
The Chicago Fire writers ultimately divided a fandom and continue to unfairly mess with both sides.
It is quite unfortunate that women face double standards all the time - it’s present in real life or fiction. Sometimes, what’s worse it it comes from other women as well. That scene was bizarre since pretty much everyone knows it’s not true. Sylvie was the one who tried to distance herself when her feelings were getting too real and it happened over 2 years after Matt and Gabby divorced. It’s certainly going to fuel the hate train once more, which is why I am rarely on the bird app anyway. I also find it stupid to send threats and hate to an actress for doing her job. At this point, both ships have sunk to the depths of the ocean, no need to sling hate!
This season has truly been weird as heck and if it’s a preview of things to come once DH leaves, it’s no great!

Secret - Brian ‘Otis’ Zvonecek
Request: No. I just really love Otis and he deserves more love.
A/N: I’ll say it again, I love Otis. He never got the love he should’ve.
One Chicago Masterlist
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
“51 is a great house, why didn’t you want to be a medic here?” Sylvie asked, tying her hair up.
You regretted mentioning to her during last shift that you’d originally not wanted to transfer to 51 and now she had been bugging you for details. It wasn’t enough to tell her that the reason was dumb and you were obviously glad you didn’t stay at ambo 92. She still insisted on knowing exactly what the reason was, especially since you’d found out that she wasn’t the one who skipped town on her wedding.
“Not big on change,” you offered, walking through the double doors to the main room. The round table behind the couch was occupied by Otis, Joe, and Herrmann, talking about this Molly’s II venture that they had come up with. “Besides, I said I’m glad I came here…what’s the difference if I wasn’t going to at first?”
You’d seen your share of train wrecks at your old house and knew that 51 wasn’t immune to drama. Deciding to transfer had also meant deciding to keep your relationship under wraps. Lying wasn’t intentional but you didn’t want anyone questioning your ability to do your job and, watching Gabby and Casey implode was all the proof you needed that somethings should stay out of the fire house. A commitment that wasn’t easy when you made heart eyes at him every time he walked in the room, at least according to Herrmann (who had somehow figured out that you were together).
The first time you’d assisted on a house fire with ambo 61, you’d been filling in for Gabby. A little nervous about being at a bigger house for your 24hr shift, you had been put at ease almost immediately by Brian. He was the first one to introduce himself to you, though you’d seen him at Molly’s when you went for the opening, and you’d been secretly thrilled that he was talking to you. The crush you had from just seeing him across the room of a crowded bar, in a printed button up looking so handsome you spent the whole night wishing you could work up the nerve to talk to him, only intensified after a 24hr shift together.
When the transfer had come up, your station chief had thrown your name into the pool immediately, telling Boden that you would be a great P.I.C. He hated to lose you but he was happy to see you move onto a bigger house. You’d been reluctant at first, not sure you could handle working so closely with someone that you had feelings for, but you couldn’t pass up the obvious promotion. So you went to 51 and it wasn’t so bad it was just that you had to see your boyfriend every single shift and pretend he wasn’t your boyfriend.  Something that was made increasingly difficult because he was living with Cruz meaning you couldn’t just go to his place off shift either.
“Hey, what’s for dinner?” Otis called, leaning over the back of his chair to look at you.
“Just because I’m in the kitchen doesn’t mean I’m cooking.” You replied, though you had already queued up a recipe on your phone and you were in the midst of gathering out all the ingredients you’d brought in that morning.
Otis held his hands up in surrender, “I’m only asking cause I heard you tell Mills you were doing dinner.”
You bit down on your bottom lip, trying not to smile, “fine, yes, I’m doing dinner.” You finally conceded, adding, “you know Otis, you only talk to me when I’m making you food.”
“Not true.” He insisted, getting up from his chair and walking over to you.  “I was kind enough to explain the superiority of Out of the Silent Planet this morning.” He replied, leaning across the counter and grabbing a grape tomato from the pint that you just opened.
You swatted his hand, tomato falling and rolling onto the floor, “pretty sure that was in the middle of me making breakfast last shift.” You said, “which I wasn’t planning on doing until you literally followed me around and begged me to.”
“I can’t help it if you make the best omelets.” He shrugged.
“You have ‘em often Otis?” Herrmann joked, leaning over the couch to look at you, throwing a wink in at the end of his question. With Otis’ back turned to you, you glared at Herrmann, mouthing ‘shut up’.
“What? No! I didn’t mean it like, what I meant was,” he turned back to you, “whenever you make omelets here...they’re always good.” His face was flushed and you had to bite the inside of your cheek to stop from laughing at him. You turned your attention back to dinner, focusing on cutting up tomatoes for the soup you were making.
It wasn’t that you were intentionally keeping the relationship under wraps. If it was entirely up to you, you would have walked into 51 that first day shouting it from the tallest ladder. But you had been working as a paramedic long enough that you heard all the horror stories of people getting involved with each other when they worked the same shift and every time it ended in disaster. When Gabby and Casey’s relationship imploded shortly after you got there, it felt like a sign warning you not to jinx what you and Otis had. If you said something and then he broke up with you, everyone would know.
When Otis reached for another tomato, you swatted his hand, “stop eating the ingredients.”
“Or you could help,” Sylvie offered, leaning against the counter and looking between the two of you. “Looks like you might need some help, right?”
You thought for a minute that maybe Sylvie had worked out what Herrmann already knew. Despite working 24 hour shifts with you though, all she had figured out so far was that you liked Otis. She prided herself on knowing that he liked you too, Cruz had even mentioned to her that the two of you spent a lot of time together and he was just ‘waiting for something to happen’. When you said you had almost turned down 51 she thought maybe that was it, you had a crush and you didn’t wanna work around him. But she could see it, recognised that look on his face as he watched you concentrating on preparing dinner, and decided she was going to do something about it.
The invitation seemed to work, despite Otis’ usual reluctance to cook, and he came around the other side of the counter to help you finish dinner. “Alright, I’m all yours.” He announced, the snicker from Herrmann going unnoticed by him but not you.
“Don’t you guys have some dumb show to watch or something?” You asked, waving your knife toward the television when Shark Tank started back up after a commercial. Mouch turned back around without any further prompting, feet hitting the coffee table as he relaxed once more into the show.
Herrmann looked down right offended, sending a glare your way for the obvious disrespect of his sacred four, before turning and settling in to watch the next ridiculous invention. Sylvie lingered at the counter, watching you and Otis settle into a surprising routine before the timer on the laundry went off and she disappeared to go check on gurney sheets. It was odd and she planned to ask Cruz about it later but there was something about the two of you that didn’t just seem like two friends crushing on each other. Something that felt familiar, like you’d already done the “I like you, do you like me” dance a while ago.
“I need a different pan,” you said, to no one in particular, wandering off to the pantry area of the kitchen, turning around the corner so no one in the common area could see you. A moment later, Otis followed, laying his knife down and walking away from the counter while everyone’s attention was on the television.
It’d been a hectic day and the usual opportunities to break away from everyone else hadn’t presented themselves. You’d felt like you were living in the ambo until an hour ago, when everything finally seemed to settle down long enough for dinner. Truck hadn’t been nearly as busy and you’d really only seen Otis twice, both times out in the field, once getting the opportunity to watch him haul a guy through a window and down the ladder truck which was both impressive and a massive turn on. Something you’d been wanting to mention.
“Okay, did our cooks disappear?” Gabby asked, walking into the common area with Sylvie, both of them eyeing the counter, left as if you were in the middle of work.
Herrmann looked over and smiled, “check the pantry.” He’d caught you more than once in the house and had known the moment you said you were looking for a pan what you were really up to. You lacked the ability to be sneaky and so did Otis.
Sylvie looked at Herrmann suspiciously, about to ask what he was smiling about, when Gabby shouted “I knew it” louder than she probably needed to. It drew everyone’s attention, Sylvie, Mouch, and Cruz coming over to see what the commotion was about.
There you were, standing apart now but Otis’ cheeks were a deep red, flushed from being caught, and your ponytail was slightly askew, clothes obviously man-handled. Gabby looked triumphant, like she’d finally worked out something she’d been trying to decipher for months.
“I knew there was something going on with you two,” she repeated, “just friends my ass.”
“You guys are…” Cruz trailed off looking between the two of you.
Otis’ gaze shot to you, waiting for you to say yes or no. He knew how you felt about people in the house dating each other and he’d been sort of concerned when you first transferred but mostly he’d just been excited. Before the transfer, you’d worked conflicting shifts. If he was on Monday then you were on Tuesday and so forth, never leaving much time to actually spend together without one of you tired. The most nervous he’d been was over the thought that you’d get bored with him when he was around all the time.
“Yeah,” you confirmed, “so?”
“Oh no way,” Gabby replied, “don’t say so like it doesn’t matter that I just walked in on you guys making out in the pantry like high schoolers. How long has this even been happening?”
“I mean, technically before I started here,” you replied.
“We didn’t wanna jinx anything,” Otis explained, though both of you knew it was only you that didn’t want to jinx anything.
You looked over at him for a second before turning back to the small crowd you’d gathered, “alright, if you guys want dinner anytime soon then scoot, or else Mouch can cook.”
“Oh no thank you,” he replied quickly, taking a step back. “I gave up cooking when I gave up being a candidate.”
The promise of dinner seemed to be enough to scare everyone back to what they were doing though Cruz left with a warning of ‘talking’ later, clearly a little miffed that Otis hadn’t been upfront with him. You knew Gabby and Sylvie would both give you hell though Herrmann no longer having something to hold over your head was kind of nice. When they left you lingered, grabbing Otis’ arm before he could walk back to the counter. Everyone finding out hadn’t been the big deal you thought it would and you felt no different about Otis then you had 20 minutes ago.
“I should apologize,” you confessed.
“For what?” He looked rightly confused and you had to bite the inside of your cheek to stay focused. Damn you for having such a cute boyfriend.
“Not saying anything sooner…I thought it was like, a death sentence, telling everyone. But I should’ve just said we were dating cause we aren’t the people from my old house or Gabby and Matt…” you replied, “I know you don’t like sneaking around, and you did for me-“
“Hey, I’m just impressed I kept a secret this long.” He shrugged. When you didn’t say anything he gave you a quick, reassuring, kiss, “come on…if ambo gets a call in the middle of dinner Mouch’ll expect me to cook.”
“You aren’t terrible,” you offered, laughing when he frowned at you.
“Not terrible!” He huffed, “what kind of support is that? Not terrible.”
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” You promised, pulling him with you back to the counter, turning to whisper, “when we get off shift I can make you that breakfast I’m so good at,” as you reentered the main area of the common room.

Why Loki’s Sylvie Is A Mary Sue
So I am firmly in the camp that Sylvie on the Loki series was/is a Mary Sue.  The last episode made me feel better and like maybe the show was doing a thing where they were faking you out that she was a Mary Sue only to show she was actually sort of a bad guy and I liked that.  But all the recent interviews make me think the show wants to go back to her being a Mary Sue.
But I feel like when I call her out for being a Mary Sue people tell me what are you talking about, she’s not a Mary Sue, bad things happen to her, etc.  But that doesn’t actually make her not a Mary Sue.
Also, before we start, I know some people find Mary Sue sexist.  But I personally use the term for guys and girls. I don’t use the term to belittle women.  I use the term to criticize a poorly written character.
And I know Mary Sue is often used to describe fanfic characters.  But to me, this series is kind of like a fanfic because the writers took a character who had been in canon MCU material for ten years and then created characters around that character.  So, I kind of review it like I would a fanfic.  It’s very different than if the writers had created a brand new show with all of their own new characters.
Anyway, if you are not totally familiar with the Mary Sue term, then check this out:
I know the term Mary Sue probably means different things to different people.  But I have always used these guidelines when I write my own fanfic to make sure my characters never come off as a Mary Sue.
This article really gives you a full scale of what a Mary Sue is.  If you start reading it, you’ll immediately see why Sylvie is.  But I’m going to take out the parts that most fit Sylvie just to highlight why I believe she is a Mary Sue.  I apologize for this being so long.
Mary Sue Character Traits
Personality
Erm... what personality? The typical Mary Sue doesn't have one per se, because she isn't meant to be a character; rather, she's an entity by which the author makes cool stuff happen.
I feel like that is Sylvie in a nutshell.  She doesn’t have a personality.  I feel like even though she ate screentime, I still don’t really know her at all.  The writers love to say she’s badass.  That’s not a personality.
Sometimes when I am writing stories for fun and creating new characters, I like to take surveys as my fictional characters.  Like the kind of surveys you’d see in a magazine, like personality types, what’s your dating style, etc.  I figure if I don’t know what my character would do in any of those situations, then I need to keep working on my character.  And if I was trying to fill out a survey pretending I was Sylvie I would have no idea what to answer because she doesn’t have a personality.  She’s just “cool”.
What little personality a Mary Sue has isn't as important as how other characters react to it. No matter how shy or socially awkward Mary Sue is supposed to be, other characters will be inexplicably drawn to her
This is so Sylvie.  Loki falls in love with her...why, exactly?  He falls in love with her in the big Nexus event moment...why?  Because she had a tough childhood?  Mobius spends like two seconds with her in a car and goes from hating her to saying she’s his favorite Loki.  For. No. Particular. Reason.
She's extremely persuasive; everyone finds her opinions to be better than their own
She enchants Hunter B-15 and then immediately Hunter B-15 makes it her whole entire life mission to back Sylvie up.
And occasionally she'll be a complete asshole...This can manifest itself in several ways...The author wants to write a badass but doesn't know how. This leads to a character who mistreats everyone around her and is never called out on her abrasive, casually abusive behavior.
Sylvie talked down to Loki and treated him like garbage for all of episode three, but it was never portrayed as a bad thing and we never got any impression Sylvie later felt bad for the way she treated Loki
The author doesn't know how to hold back the character, meaning that she will succeed at practically everything. This means that when she encounters rules or authority figures who would otherwise prevent her from doing what she wants to do, she rolls right through them (and they praise her for her "boldness" in defying regulations). If a bad guy is violent and aggressive, she can beat him by being more violent and aggressive (with all that entails). It's impossible for her to go overboard because she's protected by Protagonist-Centered Morality.
Sylvie is shown as a kid to immediately be able to grab a Tempad and run away.  And she can kick ass way better than Loki, for no known reason.  She is always able to fight back against the TVA when they attack her.  And she can kill lots of innocent TVA agents but it’s okay because TVA bad, Sylvie good.
Skills
She will always be superior to the canon characters, regardless of what canon has established they can do or whether it makes any sense.
Whose skill was needed to defeat Alioth?  Sylvie’s.  Of course.  Sylvie needed to teach Loki her skills in order for him to succeed (!).  And again, she is literally called the superior Loki.
Relatedly, there's no effort to her skills. She never actually trains or learns anything to become more powerful; she just wins the Super Power Lottery, or is a freakish natural learner, or is just Inexplicably Awesome
We’re told Sylvie literally taught herself magic.  She literally taught herself to enchant people.  That. Makes. No. Sense.  Like, I have so many questions.  Like, why would it even occur to her to teach herself that?  And how????????????  This is really lazy writing.
Canon Character Relationships
Mary Sue is often designed to hook up with another character, often as a form of Wish Fulfillment. This isn't that bad in and of itself (okay, it is kinda weird), but Mary Sue accomplishes this without any sense of realism. She just grabs her lover's attention straight away, and their relationship will never face any obstacles or tension; it's true love from the start and nothing else. The biggest giveaway is if the love interest is explicitly the author's favorite character, and she essentially "cures" him of all the angst that ails him (at the expense of his characterization).
Yeah, so...this one should be pretty obvious to anyone who watched the show.  Loki literally falls in love with Sylvie immediately, and then he suddenly turns from “villain” to “hero” just because of loving her.  And this was definitely at the expense of his characterization.  And Loki just knows he falls in love with her.  There’s not even any moments of hmm what do I feel for this person?  It’s just true love, immediately.
She will be related to a canon character in some way. This (marginally) helps explain such phenomena as her being a Copy Cat Sue and other characters accepting her so easily.
Sylvie is a Loki variant.  They use this to help explain why Loki is drawn to her and why their falling in love immediately “makes sense”.
Most characters give her more heed than they normally would. The good guys never stop praising her
Seriously, it was so over the top and OOC for Loki to gush over her.  He literally tells her she’s amazing.  They don’t even make it subtle.
Characters' previously established personalities change in reaction to her. Proud, arrogant gimps suddenly acknowledge her superiority in everything. Reckless youths will listen to all her advice. Responsible leaders will defer to her instead. Villains will obsess with her to the detriment of all else. Extremely competent characters will become stumbling buffoons who require her help to do anything. Sweet, mild-mannered characters whom the author doesn't like turn evil and insult her. They all become unnaturally focused on her in some way.
Again, Loki’s whole personality changed in reaction to her.  He became a buffoon who needed her help to enchant the Alioth because of course he couldn’t do anything without her!  Hunter B-15 goes from doing whatever the TVA said to fighting the TVA just because of Sylvie.
Story Elements
Mary Sue is without exception a single-person Spotlight-Stealing Squad. The entire story hinges on her existence; if you removed her, there would be no story.
Sylvie undoubtedly drove the whole story this season.  It all became about HER meeting the TVA heads because of HER trauma.  Loki’s life was only saved at the beginning because the TVA was trying to capture HER.  And SHE was the one who started the whole multiverse (!).
Mary Sue is The Chosen One, even if the setting already has one. There are many ways she can accomplish this: she can be a Sailor Earth type who "shares" the position with the canon hero; she may be vaguely "destined to help the destined one fulfill their destiny" (i.e. do all the work except the final blow so that the prophecy is still technically correct); or the canon hero may be revealed to be a Fake Ultimate Hero all along. Being the Chosen One doesn't necessarily involve her being a God-Mode Sue, especially as authors become aware of the phenomenon and try to avoid it, but it does make her critically important to the world and allows her to continue stealing the spotlight without the "god mode" label.
HWR wanted Sylvie to come with Loki in the end, like she was chosen all along right alongside Loki.  Like one of the most important characters in the entire MCU is now this character who we only met a few episodes ago.
Most Sues have an unusually Dark and Troubled Past. It's often used to create a Sympathetic Sue, but any type of Sue can have one
They tell us, over and over, how hard Sylvie’s life was because she was kidnapped by the TVA in order to create sympathy for her.
She almost never does anything wrong. In the rare instance that she does, it's usually; (a) a way for the author to disclaim her being a Mary Sue by introducing a single imperfection (that has no bearing on anything anyway), and (b) designed to show her smarts by making her feel instant remorse, and she'll be Easily Forgiven anyway:
So this one hopefully will not come true, as a lot can change between now and when the show is taped. But if the show goes on the way the behind the scenes team is talking, Sylvie immediately felt remorse for betraying Loki, and Loki has already forgiven her and is desperately looking for her.  Ugh.
Alternatively, she is more than capable of doing something wrong, be it in general moral terms or something that goes against whatever code she abides by, and she maybe even frequently does so, but don't expect the other characters or the narrative to ever acknowledge or comment on it in any real capacity. If the other characters do call her out, expect them to be treated like they're the problem for daring to criticize her at all.
Mobius calls her out for killing people, but Sylvie immediately says he’s a bad person and then Mobius agrees, because, of course.
She will often suffer from Special Snowflake Syndrome; i.e., she has a trait or backstory that sets her apart from her group or race.
She is the only female Loki, thus making her the special one among all the Lokis in episode five.
Presentation
In visual media, the camera just can't stop staring at her.
The camera would follow her in fight scenes rather than Loki.
Mary Sue Tropes
Okay, so there are specific Mary Sue tropes that Sylvie is.  One of those is Copy Cat Sue, which I think was referenced before.
Copy Cat Sue
A lot of fanfic writers...start to write something because of their passion for this character, but they find something about the character that doesn't mesh well. Maybe they're the wrong gender or are otherwise not close enough to the author's expectations...In any case, rather than put them through the Possession Sue process, they just get a Clone-O-Matic™ and out pops a Copy Cat Sue...the character might be intended as a replacement for the canon character, but without whatever icky traits the author hates. They'll then rob the spotlight, prove the canon character to be unworthy of his/her position, and either relegate the character to obsolescence or, perhaps, even remove them entirely.
Sylvie is basically a clone of Loki, she is a variant.  But she absolutely robbed the spotlight of Loki’s, and they literally call her the superior Loki.  I mean, they are literally not even being subtle about this.  And there was a feeling by myself (and a lot of other viewers) that Sylvie might ultimately replace Loki in the MCU.
Black Hole Sue
Much like a black hole, this is a Mary Sue who "sucks in" the plot and characters to her. Characters will behave outside their personalities, logic will be defied, and rules will be broken for her sake.
Sylvie really does suck up all the plot and Loki definitely behaves outside of his personality just to fit the Sylvie show.
Jerk Sue
A Mary Sue who is mean or maybe even cruel, but are still treated as an ideal person.
Once again, Sylvie is basically a jerk all of episode three, but you’ve got Loki falling over himself to call her amazing in just the next episode.
Relationship Sue
A Mary Sue who exists to be the perfect mate for a specific character...this character has everything in the plot conspiring to enforce this One True Pairing...in Fanfiction, they are the perfect beloved of a canon character.
They literally have Mobius speculate that Loki falling in love with Sylvie is so extraordinary that it causes an entire Nexus event, that’s how huge this One True Pairing is (!).  And Sylvie is the love interest of Loki, the only character who had been around before the beginning of the series
TLDR: Sylvie has all the tropes of a classic Mary Sue character.  So calling Sylvie a Mary Sue isn’t being sexist or just randomly hating on the character.  If you use common Mary Sue characteristics to examine the character, she just has too many of these characteristics to ignore.

I wasn't sure if I was going to post this, but I may as well.
I keep starting to reply to things and then stopping bc the words just aren't there, and I suppose I figured out the core of what bothers me so much (and is making me have such a rollercoaster of a fan experience) about the show.
(cut for length)
It's not well-written. My opinion is my opinion, so I'm saying this subjectively, take it or leave it, but ... I feel that it's not well-written. The overall story is fine, and the plot is fine, but I don't know if it's because of the limited number of episodes not being enough to house the story, or because of the relative inexperience of the writer/showrunner+director, or both, or something else, but -
In an earlier reaction post to episode 4, I mentioned really wanting to sink my teeth into all of the subtext I picked up on. That was what made me initially enjoy the episode so much - there were a lot of little moments that I initially felt revealed so much about the characters and about Loki, and I wanted to analyze them. But at some point, as I gathered more information, my perspective changed and now I no longer want to analyze the subtext bc ... subtext = good. Subtext w/out payoff = not as good.
I'll go into more detail in a moment, but I think the tl;dr of it is that I feel like the narrative requires the audience to work way too hard to put together all of the moving pieces here and, like, I kinda just don't want to do that work? Not so much of it, and not in vain. A lot of the enjoyment of Loki's characterization is coming from fans who are rationalizing why he's behaving as he is, but the narrative never actually confirms those rationalizations. It's asking us to figure it out and maybe our conclusions will be correct but maybe they won't, though. At some point, subtext isn't enough without explicit follow-through.
I thought my issue was with the lack of character development - that is, not having enough narrative space to really earn the big things that are happening now, like Loki/Sylvie or Mobius turning against the TVA. And that's still true, to an extent; I still feel like the pacing is all very off and it seems like most of these things kinda came out of nowhere (but are not unbelievable - just undeveloped).
But, yknow, it is what it is, it's a limited series, and I can excuse some things. Ultimately, my issue isn't a problem with what the narrative isn't doing, it's a problem with what the narrative already failed to do and probably cannot recover from at this point.
The narrative has left out significant details that should at least help us do some of the work here. If a person turned on Loki and started episode 1 and had no background knowledge of the character besides that he tried to take over New York - how would that person interpret Loki? Would that person say, oh, well, he's been through X, Y, and Z, and plus A happened, not to mention B, C, and D, so really, it makes sense that he seems off-the-rails, or that he'd want to get ridiculously drunk at the worst time ever.
Maybe we'd like to believe they would, but how would they be getting to that conclusion? The narrative hasn't led them in that direction so, no, they would not say well we have to consider this, this, and that. It would be impossible to really understand Loki as a character from just what we've gotten in the series. The general audience would probably interpret Loki as being out of his element and so it becomes, I wonder how this character is going to get the upper hand here. And, while that's not wrong, it's just so limited.
The narrative at face value does not address Loki's identity crisis from Thor 2011. It does not address his hurt and devastation at being lied to, nor does it address how complicated his self-image is (bc it sucked to begin with and that was before he found out he was part of a race of "monsters," as he'd been taught his entire life). It does not reference Loki being so broken at the end of Thor 2011 that he deliberately let himself fall into the void of space (aka tried to kill himself). It does not reference that he was tortured by Thanos or even that he went through a seriously dark time in between Thor and Avengers, and it absolutely does not reference or address any influence or control of the mind stone.
These are all things that we, the fan audience, know because we've already invested our time into this character's story. But tons of people, the general audience, wouldn't know these things. Or if they did, bc they saw Thor and Avengers, they wouldn't be thinking about them as deeply as we would, nor contextualizing them with how Loki is behaving now, or why it would make sense that he needed to get drunk, or why it's understandable that he needs to keep going-going-going in order to not have a spare second to think or feel.
They'd probably look at Loki, again, as a character who was a villain and is now getting his comeuppance in a place where he has no power or control, and no literal powers, and even when he manages to escape and catch up to the variant, he proceeds to fuck up their plan for seemingly no real reason except that he wanted to get drunk bc he's hedonistic. Which Sylvie even berates him for! I mean. This is not exactly a complex character breakdown, nor a very flattering one, but that's what the narrative has given us.
(If the narrative has addressed Loki's mind control, his torture, his mental breakdown, his suicide attempt, and his general shitty self-esteem as a result of his upbringing, please point it out to me. If the narrative has explicitly acknowledged and referenced these things anywhere and I am missing it, please show me where. Please explain to me how the casual viewer would know any of these things that they need to know in order to actually understand what's happening in this story.)
So I mean, okay, we have a narrative that doesn't paint a full, accurate picture of Loki. Fine, sure. But because the general audience starts out on the wrong footing, they're not going to get out of the overall story what the writers probably intended them to. For example, in episode 3, a lot of us theorized that Loki had some kind of plan - that he broke the timepad on purpose, for some reason, bc otherwise it wasn't believable that he'd be such a failure. But episode 4 revealed that no, there was no bigger plan, Loki just plain old messed up. Which is fine if, again, one is only considering the surface-level portrayal here, but it's not true to Loki's actual characterization.
I mean. Loki is not perfect and Loki actually fails a lot, this is true. He fails for a lot of reasons, but incompetence has never been one of them. Usually it's that either things grew beyond his control, or there ended up being too many moving parts, or he had to change his plan at the last minute due to some roadblock or another being thrown his way, or even that he got in his own way - whatever the case may be for his plans' failures, he was always at least shown to know what he was doing.
That wasn't the case here. The "plan" to fix the Timepad failed as a direct result of Loki's actions, which were careless and made him seem incompetent, like he couldn't even handle this mission. "You had one job," etc. And there were pretty big consequences for this; they were not able to get off-world in time and would have been killed had the TVA not shown up at the last second.
And maybe none of these things matter bc the writers never intended any of this to be a reflection on Loki's character, positive or negative. The situation exists solely because the writers needed to put Loki and Sylvie together in some kind of hopeless scenario so that they could get closer, and thus the narrative could set up their romance. I get that - but, there were other ways to do it that didn't require Loki to look foolish.
Furthermore, the whole reason they needed to set up the romance is to show Loki eventually learning to love himself (like, figuratively but also literally). The audience is supposed to gather that Loki and Sylvie fell for one another, possibly due to the high emotional aspect of, yknow, being about to die (in addition to the variant-bond). The intent is clear: Loki and Sylvie almost die but get rescued at the last minute, having now created an emotional bond --> Loki and Sylvie team up and the narrative further establishes that Loki, at least, has caught feelings --> Loki might confess them but is pruned before he gets the chance --> he somehow survives, he and Sylvie are reunited and don't want to lose one another again, and the combined power of their love is enough to break the sacred timeline and spawn the multiverse, and the reason that the power of their love is so, well, powerful is because it's about self-love and self-acceptance as much as it is about having the capacity to love someone else. The end.
I get all that. The writers more or less said all that. And, I mean, it's certainly not the way I would have chosen to go about it, but it's a fair enough arc to explore. I don't really have an issue with the intent - but my question, however, is this: if the narrative has so far not addressed Loki's background issues (as outlined above), and has furthermore kinda gone out of its way to portray Loki as hedonistic and narcissistic, among other things (like kinda incompetent), and the context the audience starts with is that Loki's this villain who deserves what he gets -
- my question is 1, why should the audience care whether or not Loki gets to a point of loving and accepting himself (thus to make the theme of self-love, via the romance, hold weight) if they don't know that he hates himself to begin with and 2, why should the audience root for Loki to reach that point when so far the perception of him is that he's "kind of an asshole"? if he's a hedonistic narcissist, he probably already has a pretty inflated sense of himself, right? A misplaced inflated sense of himself, at that, because, again, the narrative has made him out to be not that capable of much of anything. (And it didn't start out that way! It seemed to start out with Loki being capable and intelligent but it's like episode 3, in trying to set up the romance, just jumbled it all up somewhere. I think this is why I'm harping on the Loki/Sylvie aspect so much - it's frustrating bc it kinda messes up the whole story and can't even accomplish what it's supposed to anyway.)
Anyway, that's beside the point. What I'm ultimately getting at is, at what point is the audience supposed to get invested in Loki's personal growth journey?
They can't, not really. Without understanding and having the context of everything Loki has been through up until now, and why he hates himself, and why it's so important that he learn to love himself, then the "payoff" becomes kinda pointless bc the significance of it is lost in translation. So suddenly we're left with this romance that comes off as either "Loki loves Sylvie bc of Reasons" (best-case scenario) or "Loki loves Sylvie bc he's vain, narcissistic, and kinda twisted" (worst-case scenario). Neither of these conclusions are what the writers intended or were going for, I'm positive, but there we are, regardless.
In order for the writers' intent in these storylines to land, they need to address the context of what makes these particular stakes high for Loki. So far, they haven't done that. They're asking the audience to pick up on all of these things, and they're showing things that subtextually make sense and are relatively in-character - but only if you realize there's subtext in the first place.
But you can't expect the audience to do all of the work for you. If you don't want the audience to think that Loki is a narcissistic asshole and instead you are trying to convey that, worst-case scenario, he thinks he's a narcissist but is an unreliable narrator, then you have to address that. If you need the audience to understand why you're going the selfcest route and why it's important to explore Loki's capacity to love himself and others, you have to address where that exploration is starting from and why it matters. Etc etc etc.
The narrative isn't doing any of that. And it isn't like it'd be that hard to do it. They don't need to reinvent the wheel here; a lot of the pieces are already there. A few lines of dialogue for context, a brief scene here or there addressing the issues, a little more care and consistency in how Loki handles things - these are all little things that could go a long fucking way in making the narrative stronger.
I'm rambling. My basic point is that my rollercoaster of emotions with this show is because
- as a part of the fan audience, not the general one, I can contextualize and analyze the subtext and come to the conclusions the show wants me to, and thus find the story and the characters more or less enjoyable,
- but I am also going to be using the subtext to come to conclusions that aren't there but probably should be (I think it would be a better story, for example, for Loki to confuse platonic love with romantic love bc it would pave the way to explore just how fucked up Loki's understanding of love - whether of other people or of himself, and the different forms it can take - actually is)
- and when they're ultimately not there, then I think, okay why am I bothering doing all this work just to ultimately feel very unfulfilled? They don't even have to write it the way I would, I'm not saying that, but they do have to do something to make the story feel rewarding.
If we don't get some confirmation of what Loki's been through, and where his headspace is, and why it matters for him to love himself, then the story remains pretty shallow and, for me, it's not fulfilling enough. It's not engaging enough. There isn't actually anything to sink my teeth into, so it becomes kind of boring. Maybe it's rewarding to other people, and that's great for them, but like - I need more than whatever this is.
So I'm just like - well, I had a lot of worries about this show, but my being bored wasn't one of them and now there's only two episodes left and am I really not going to get anything out of this, in the long run? No new canons, no new depths or layers, no new information on Loki's experiences? This is it?
I don't dislike it. I didn't start out disliking it, and I probably wont end up disliking it. I mean, there are a lot of good moments, and good things, and fan service-y things that I appreciate. As far as inspiration for fic goes, it's a goldmine, both plot-wise as well as aesthetic-wise. All of that is great. I don't dislike this show.
But I am disappointed in it, and I feel like I'll be watching the next two episodes lacking the sense of anticipation that would make it exciting. I'll still enjoy them, probably, if for nothing else just the sheer Loki content, but whatever it was I felt watching episodes 1 and 2 is gone and I'm sad about that, too. Because I really wanted to feel fulfilled by this series; I wanted it to fill up the void that Loki's death in IW created three years ago. And I just ... don't feel it. Maybe, maybe that'll change over the course of episodes 5 and 6. I don't know.
Everything that I end up enjoying long-term, I think, will come about as a result of my own interpretations and analysis and while theoretically there's nothing wrong with that, if I had known all I'd get out of this series was more headcanons or support for my current headcanons then, well - that's fine, I suppose, but I'll definitely a little bit robbed.

Apart from Stellaride, is there anything else you are looking forward to watching or seeing in season 11 of Chicago Fire?
Because even with Stellaride, whom I love, I am just fed up with the constant communication issues that the writers keep giving them. We haven't gone a season with them not having communication issues.
I saw this right before I was gonna shower and I'm glad I did bc then I was able to think about fire and remembered that yes, there is something besides stellaride I'm looking forward to (hawkami and violet in general and before you question how I can forget about a whole ass ship, I'm very very tired)
But first, seeing married stellaride is still the thing I'm most looking forward to seeing -- especially like I'm burzek trash, clowning over my faith in the writers to finally stop writing inane communication storylines is kinda my thing 🤣 So like while the writing has definitely got me fed up, it's with most likely misplaced hope that I believe this season it'll be different.
I also am very excited to see mouch and Ritter (and any scenes with Capp in them) but like also I'm not because of the writing and how much Ritter gets ignored, it feels pointless in being excited because god knows what he'll get, which is why again I feel only like I'm excited for fire for stellaride.
I was also excited to see Sylvie again but then the news about brettsey came out and now I'm realising we're potentially going to go through more relationship angst with Sylvie and I'm just Tired of that bc she's met her soulmate! and I know js has left so it makes sense but ugh. So I'm not very excited anymore, no matter how much I love Sylvie.
But sometimes before I remember how they ended, I do get equally (if not more bc they're just beginning and I love watching people fall in love) excited about Hawkami because that ship has stolen my heart. But Hawkins really annoyed me last season with his cavalier attitude and also now the writers are committed (I mean hopefully don't wanna jinx it) to hawkami as a couple, that means in true one Chicago style we're gonna have a storm ahead of relationship angst ESPECIALLY with violet seeing Gallo's actions to defend her more favourably than she sees Evan's and I just KNOW this is gonna tire me so it's hard to be excited.
I love violet though, as a character outside the ship as well, first and foremost, so like I get excited about seeing her pretty face on my screen again but it's hard to feel excited about the storylines she may play because they just seem to keep reducing her to just romance storylines and like damnit I wanna see more !!!!
So in conclusion, while there are technically other things I'm excited about, none really comes to my excitement about stellaride bc of my issues with writing and such. Even though lol stellaride is affected by the same things (but I feel like I have Stockholm's with them, I'm committed to the writers disfunction addujkgh)
Thank you for asking!!! If you wanna send me another ask, I'd love to know what you're excited to see in fire this season!!!! 💖

a ‘Loki’ series theory
Been seeing some theories being spread around so I had to chime in. It might be a bit crazy, but even crazier stuff has happened in the mcu.
Particularly about her:
Tumblr media
She’s very likely playing young Sylvie Lushton, the second Enchantress. It’s the only Sylvie that has any connection to Loki and the connection they have, oh boy. In the comics Loki’s responsible for her existence.
At first it was believed Sylvie Lushton is a normal midgardian girl who suddenly woke up with mysterious and powerful magical abilities that rivalled even Amora’s. (Also Sylvie kind of pretended to be an asgardian and ‘borrowed’ Amora’s identity)
However it was later revealed by none other than Wiccan, that she has not only been gifted powers from Loki, she was entirely created by Loki.
Tumblr media
And Loki and her had such a tight connection that when he died, she became sick and weak as well.
It’s interesting that out of two available Enchantresses, they chose to introduce the lesser known one and the one who was entirely created by Loki, and not Amora, the more popular, an actual Asgardian and a character fans have wanted to see in the mcu for years.
Even now fans falsely believe that young Cailey is playing Amora because most mistakenly confuse Amora and Sylvie of being the same person - which they’re not.
The fact that they decided to introduce Sylvie, and not Amora, makes me theorise that her origin will be explicitly tied to Loki.
But that births the question. How?
In the comics Loki magically creates her but unfortunately mcu’s Loki hasn’t been shown to be as powerful as his comic counterpart/s and has been considerably nerfed compared to them.
Another possibility is that they pick the ‘midgardian girl who was empowered by Loki’ option, which is something even comics Sylvie believed in at first. But again, why her and is mcu Loki even capable of doing something like that? He barely uses magic on his own, relies on his illusions and knives and I don’t see that changing much in the show either if the trailer is anything to go by.
But Loki is probably still linked to her somehow. Otherwise, why pick her for this show? Why pick his creation?
So I’ve been thinking, what if Marvel does another one of their twists and, while staying as close to the source material as possible, they simplify things a bit, and instead of making Sylvie Loki’s creation, they make her his daughter from another timeline?
It might sound ridiculous, but hey, they literally made Hela (a daughter of Loki) into Odin’s firstborn daughter, borrowing traits from numerous other characters including Angela. Marvel isn’t afraid to switch things up.
And the show is all about time travel and different timelines. And if that brilliant D.B.Cooper reference is anything to go by, then it’s clear that 2012 (or that scene from Thor 1) wasn’t the first time Loki visited Earth. If he’s been D.B. Cooper all along, who’s to say he hasn’t fathered a child in one of the timelines? Maybe even this one, but we and possibly even him, don’t know that yet.
And before you scoff at the idea of Loki potentially having a half human child, int he comics he’s himself admitted to having numerous kids, even half human ones, like Tess Black.
Tumblr media
He magically created Sylvie, but he also has a daughter named Sylene, who comes from another reality and models herself after her father, Loki (and is practically a new Loki)
Tumblr media
And she was actually mentioned last year as one of few characters who could, given the nature of the show, be making an appearance in it.
Tumblr media
I wouldn’t be too shocked if Marvel pulled another one of their ‘let’s mash these two characters together’ shticks and combined Sylvie and Sylene, make her his daughter, but half human.
Interestingly enough, both characters Sylvie and Sylene are known for emulating other people. Sylvie modeled herself after Amora the Enchantress (yes, that’s why people confuse Sylvie and Amora), her appearance, powers matched Amora’s and Sylvie went as far as to even borrow her alias, The Enchantress (which displeased Amora).
Tumblr media
And Sylene, as evident emulated her own father, Loki. If one didn’t know better she could easily pass for Loki’s female form.
Tumblr media
I’m mentioning this because in the show we have a mysterious female character who by some reason clearly models herself after Loki.
Tumblr media
If it weren’t for those combat boots and trousers her attire would look suspiciously similar to Loki’s - which still does, but it has some very ‘midgardian’ sprinkles thrown in it. However, the similarity is noticeable and many have assumed she’s female Loki, but I personally don’t believe in that theory because of her attire and most of all, her hair. I’ve heard rumours that the actress playing her, Sophia di Martino, has naturally dark brown hair and she dyed it blonde. I looked it up, and it’s true. Why dye your hair blonde if you play a character who has always been portrayed with black hair? Even the rumoured (or not so, heard he’s pretty much confirmed it by now) actor playing Kid Loki has dyed his hair black. At this point, black hair is Loki’s signature look. And after some casting decisions lately I think it’s safe to assume Marvel strives to be as comic accurate when it comes to their characters’ appearance as they can.
And as I mentioned before, Cailey Fleming is playing ‘young Sylvie’ which means there’s also an adult Sylvie in the show. The fact that we’re getting a young and adult version of the same character could indicate that this character will play a major role in the show. So far, out of all known cast, only Sophia di Martino fits the bill.
I’m convinced Sophia and Cailey play the same character but at different stages of her life. Sylvie, who for some reason emulates Loki.
Perhaps Marvel really did pull another Hela situation and merged two (or more) characters together - which clearly seems to be the case. In this case, Sylvie (believed to be a midgardian girl but turns out she was created by Loki, extremely powerful, has a thing for copying certain someone and even goes by their alias) and Sylene (Loki’s daughter from another reality/timeline, emulates her father and is basically Loki 2.0).
Even their names are kind of similar.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Loki at some point in his past (or a different timeline) fathered a daughter. The guy has a plethora of kids in the comics.
It would certainly explain the resemblance between Loki and Sophia’s character.

The One He Got Right
Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader
Word count: 2,700
Warnings: None. Just a crazy amount of fluff.
Summary: Jay and (y/n) have been dating for several months now, so, when his birthday comes up, the reader wants to throw him a surprise party.
Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the One Chicago shows, or its characters, also not associated with it in any way or know anyone involved with it.
A/N: Fluffy happy jay is my religion, that's all I'm gonna say. Also, I feel like the One Chicago universe could have a lot of surprise parties, so, if they won't give it to us, let's just indulge ourselves, right?
As always, I hope it doesn’t suck too bad and, please, feel free to give me feedback!
(y/n) = (your name) (y/l/n) = (your last name) (y/n/n) = (your nickname)
| masterlist |
Tumblr media
“You know, babe, I was hoping you’d be able to get the Thursday off so that we could go out and have some fun, or just stay in and cuddle. You can choose.” Jay said whilst caressing your feet in his lap.
“While that does sound good, I’m not sure I can convince my boss to give me the time off on such short notice, Jay.” You confessed with a tired sigh. “But what’s so special about Thursday for Voight to give you a day off anyway? You didn’t mention any big cases lately…” You asked your boyfriend, not missing how he started to uncomfortably shift his position on the couch.
“Uh, he said I should take the day to myself because it’s my birthday. That’s why I was hoping-”
“What???” You asked him, sitting up straight, already buzzing with excitement. “It’s your birthday in four days and you didn’t tell me???” Jay just looked at you like you were crazy.
“Well, I’m telling you now. Besides, it’s not that big of a deal. I just figured that since I’m getting a rare day off, I’d spend it with the person I love…” He tried to sound nonchalant, but you knew what game he was playing. And, honestly, you didn’t really care, because you’d always loved birthdays and holidays in general. So, if you had a chance at being with Jay throughout his, you’d take it.
“Not that big of a deal? Who are you? The Grinch? Of course, it’s a big deal, babe!” Your excitement was almost tangible. “So, tell me, what is it you want us to do, hum? Is there gonna be a party? Wait a second, have you been party-planning without me this whole time?” Your boyfriend couldn’t understand how went from too grinny to too offended in two seconds like that.
“What? Party? No! No! Not at all, baby! I really just thought we could spend some quality time together, you know, without the possibility of me getting called in at any minute…" He told you and, all of the sudden, he looked exhausted, making you feel stupid for bombarding him with your craziness like that.
"Oh, okay… Look, I'm sorry I freaked out, babe. It's just that you're such an amazing boyfriend – and everything else, really –, so, when you said it's your birthday… Let me do something?" You asked, with what you considered to be your sweetest smile. At that, Jay started chuckling lightly.
"Well, I could let you do something, but your company is already gonna be much more than just something. And that's all I could possibly want from you, princess." How could you even try to resist that man?
"Okay. Then, uh, I'll get the day off, no matter what, but… I'm still doing something!" You said with a wicked smile.
"Oh, God. Fine, just don't exaggerate, okay?" Hearing that, you gave him a look.
"Right, right. Note to self: don't exaggerate." At that point, Jay decided to just give in, which was the best he could do, since your plan was already shaping up in your head. It was going to be a long four days…
The next morning, after leaving Jay’s place, you started calling people while walking to work. The first on your list was Herrmann because there was no party without a venue. And what better venue for your boyfriend’s birthday celebration than the very place where he liked to spend so much time?
“Hi, (y/n/n)! How you doing?” Christopher asked with his usual excited voice.
“Hey, Chirs! I’m great, how are you? And how are Cindy and the kids?” First things first: to convince the petty man to let you use his bar like that, you were gonna need to be your most charming self.
“Ah, we’re all good too, thanks for asking, kid! Listen, uh, how’s everything between you and Halstead? He hasn’t shown up at Molly’s in a while…” Normally that would have gotten you worried, but this time you knew that it was because of the demanding case his unit had closed last week and then because of how he was trying to spend most of his crazy free hours with you.
“Everything’s fine, really. The thing is that he’d been a little too busy with Intelligence’s latest case and then he was a bit tired in his free time, so we’d just spend the nights in… But thank you for the concern, Chris!” By that point of your relationship with Jay, you’d met pretty much everyone who hung out at the first responders’ bar (at least everyone who was friends with your boyfriend), and it was fair to say that they all had a lot of appreciation for you. Herrmann, for example, was always trying to look after you. Treating you like a daughter. And, as sweet as that was, you were about to use it to get him to give up Molly’s for the party. “So, um, you mentioned that we haven’t been to Molly’s much lately… How’s the business going?”
“Ah, (y/n/n), look at you! Always worrying about other people! The business is going well! But you know how these things are… Could always be better.” He told you, in that very Herrmann way, always thinking ahead and making growth plans.
“Yeah… Well, you know, Jay always tells me about how much he loves it there… How much that place and the people in it, especially you, mean to him…” You threw your bait. It wasn’t exactly true, but it wasn’t exactly a lie either. You knew how much all of that meant to Jay, he never even had to tell you about it.
“Really?” You could practically hear Herrmann’s grin through the phone. “I hope he knows that we all at 51, hell, at Molly’s, see him as family too! He’s such a good kid... ” Perfect. It was now or never.
“Speaking of him knowing how much he means to us, as you know that his birthday is coming up on Thursday, I was-”
“What??? His birthday? I, I, I, ah, I didn’t know that…” Another perfect strike for you.
“Well, then I guess that makes it a bit weird for me to ask you what I was about to…” God, it was moments like this that made you think that you could've been an actress.
“No! What?! Not at all, what was it?”
“I was wondering if you could give Molly’s up for a surprise party I wanna throw for him...” You said, ripping the band-aid off, with your fingers crossed that the guilt-trip you tried to put him on would work its magic.
“Oh!” If only you could see him now! Split between wanting to show Jay how much he cared and the projections of how much he’d lose giving Molly’s up like that. “You know what? To the hell with it! Jay was one of our first regular customers and got us rid of that scumbag Arthur, so yeah! We’re doing that for him!” You wanted to scream at how perfectly your plan had worked out, but you stopped yourself as Herrmann said (for no one’s surprise): “But I’m not giving any free drinks to anyone!”
“Okay, okay, Chris.” You said laughing. “What you’re doing is enough help already! Thank you so much!”
“Nah, don’t worry about it! Just wish everyone would appreciate my gestures as much as you do, instead of complaining that I should be doing more…” At that point, you were laughing your ass off, as you couldn’t keep it inside any longer.
“Okay, then I’ll let you know when and who’s gonna need the keys to set up the decoration and stuff.” You said whilst brushing the tears away from your eyes.
“Alright, (y/n/n), I gotta go now, but I’ll talk to you soon.”
“Yeah, talk soon. Bye.” One down, some more to go.
And that's how you spent your morning: completely ignoring your work, in between calls to put Jay's surprise party in motion. You put Stella, Severide, and whoever else wanted to help them in charge of the drinks. Sylvie and Chloe were on the cake. Adam and Kevin were taking care of the food, duly supervised by Kim and Hailey, as you knew they couldn't be trusted to not eat anything before the time. You let Maggie and Ethan in charge of the decoration, along with any more help they could get at Med. And Will and Platt were going to contact Jay's other friends. You were on the tricky assignment of keeping your boyfriend in the dark about all of that until it was Thursday night. While, also, overseeing everyone's work, because, well, you were the organizer!
To say that there were many bumps along the short period of time you had until the party was stating the obvious. Several times during those three days you got calls from Will, panicking over the fact that, every time he saw his brother, he felt an urge to scream 'Surprise!!!'. Seriously, after this party, Jay Halstead just couldn't let you out of his life, because the amount of energy it took to keep yourself from murdering his older brother... It was a clear show of love.
Still, everything went well and there were no murders. The Thursday morning came as quickly as you knew it would and, thankfully, everyone had their parts of the plan pretty much done. Which meant it was your time to shine: operation keep-the-detective-from-detecting had begun!
“So, today’s the day. Are you gonna tell me what is it that we’re doing?” Jay asked you with a soft smile on his lips.
“Yes, of course, detective. But only after we get you a proper birthday breakfast!” You told Jay while pulling him out of the apartment to go to this diner you knew he loved. When you got there, the orders were already waiting for you at your favorite table, and, being the silly bean he is, your boyfriend got pretty impressed by it.
“But, what?! How did you get them to do this? I thought they never took orders over the phone!”
“And they never do!” You confirmed with a wink, trying to hold back the laughter. Not that you could keep it inside any longer when his eyes landed on the personalized birthday wishes written on the pancakes. As much as he liked to act like a tough guy most of the time, at that moment he couldn’t help but let out his inner excited little boy.
“Oh my God! This is amazing! It’s so cute!” He beamed brightly.
“I know, I know. Now eat your breakfast, birthday boy!” You ordered with a fake look of annoyance on your face. But instead of just digging in on the food, like you’d told him to, he leaned in from across the table to press a sweet kiss to your lips.
“The day barely even started and I already know that this is gonna be one of the best birthdays of my life!” He told you, as a genuinely happy smile took over his features.
“Well, then I’m glad I can be of service.” You said, and, like that, the day passed by. You wandered, hand-in-hand, the streets of a rare sunny Chicago, had lunch by the Riverwalk, went to the movie theater, and, finally, back to his place.
“Okay, today was amazing! But, I gotta admit, I’m a bit tired… So what do you say we open a bottle of wine, order some Italian, and cuddle our way into the night, hum?” Jay asked, already sitting on the couch with his phone in hand.
“I say a big colossal no!” Hearing that, he looked at you super confused. “Because I already told Will that we were gonna meet him for a couple of beers at Molly’s.” Instead of just sighing and standing up like you thought he’d do, your boyfriend narrowed his eyes to you, in a way that showed he got suspicious of something. “What?”
“We’re gonna meet Will at Molly’s? On my birthday?”
“Yeah, why?”
“No, nothing. It’s just that, coming from you and Will on my birthday,” shit! He emphasized the birthday part again, “that doesn’t sound like just a meetup for beers at Molly’s, that’s all.” Damn it, a thousand times damn it! Why did he have to be so good? And that stupid cocky smile he had on right now was still gonna be the death of you. Before you even said anything, you knew it wasn’t gonna be very convincing, given how useless your brain seemed to be at the moment. So you could only hope that he’d turn a blind eye and just go along with it when you said:
“Well, it is just a meetup at Molly’s. And, if you must know, I only agreed to it because Will spent all day blowing up my phone with texts, saying that I stole his baby brother from him on a date that you two should always spend together.” You lied, trying to put up an annoyed façade.
“Ah, well, if that’s the case, then let’s just stay here and ignore our phones.” Jay suggested with a shrug. He knew you were lying, damn it!
“No!” You answered a bit too quickly. “We, uh, we can’t do that! Because, first of all, it would be very douchy and, second, Will would be mad at me forever, and that can’t happen if I have any hopes of ever becoming a Halstead.” You didn’t even realize what you’d just said, until after it came out, but then it was too late to go back. He glued his eyes on you immediately, while you tried to hide your blushing face with your hands. “I can’t believe that I really just said that out loud.” You sorta-whispered shyly, never uncovering your face.
“Me neither…” He confessed with a huge grin, also going to remove your hands off your face with his. “Baby, I know I don’t say this much, because, as you know, words aren’t really my strongest suit, but I love you. And I, too, have real high hopes that you’ll become a Halstead someday.” He told you, making your eyes tear up.
“I love you too, babe.” You barely let it out before he pulled you in for a warm loving kiss.
“So, you say that a lot in your head, hum?” He asked with a smug smirk on his lips.
“Shut up, let’s just go.” You grunted, trying hard not to blush again.
“Do we really have to, though? You know Will doesn’t get to decide anything between us.” Jay tried to reason with you, apparently forgetting about his suspicions.
“I know, but we’re not bailing on him like this, Jay.” At that, he gave you an annoyed pouting look but eventually gave it up and headed to the bar with you.
Before you got out of the cab, you managed to, discretely, shoot Will a quick text, to let everyone know that you’d arrived. That way, as soon as Jay opened the door, letting you in first as usual, the mini crowd of guests shouted:
“Surprise!!!!!” You couldn’t help but break up in laughter when your boyfriend almost jumped back outside after the scare. Jay Halstead, the man who was always prepared for anything, got completely caught by surprise this time.
“Oh my God, guys, what the hell?” He asked with a shocked expression that just made everyone in the bar laugh hard, as they started reaching out to hug him and say their birthday wishes.
In the midst of all that, Jay saw you smiling shyly on a corner and immediately knew who was the mastermind behind it all. That made him think of how, when you came into his life, you were like a sunshine ray that never darkened, making his hardest days easier and better. And you were even more now.
Jay Halstead had definitely made a lot of wrong, shitty, decisions throughout his life. On both personal and professional levels, they’d gotten him a lot of heartache. But dating you was for sure the one he got right.

Pairing: Sylvie Brett x Quinn Maxs (Fem! Paramedic)
Summary: You’re living life with Firehouse 51. But, you begin to feel feelings for your Paramedic-in-charge; Sylvie Brett. You don’t know how to tell her, understanding the history of her past relationships. Most of all, you don’t want her seeing you differently, should you tell her. You only told your fellow paramedic; Gianna Mackey and your best friend and firefighter; Stella Kidd. However, you beg them both to not tell Brett. However, once Hermann’s fill-in comes in, you believe you’ve waited too long to tell Brett how you really feel about her.
Warning: Chicago Fire Season 9 Episode 9: Escape Route spoilers
A/N: Quinn Maxs is my OC for Chicago Fire! Enjoy my first Sylvie Brett imagine!!
Theme: “MAYDAY” - coldrain/Ryo (Fire Force Opening 2)
-------------------------------------------------------
As you close your locker and bid Hermann a farewell and to enjoy his vacation you pass by Brett, but a familiar face.... Grainger....
"Hey, I remember you, Y/n Y/l/n right?" He asks, smiling
Hiding your emotions well, you casually salute three fingers to him before hearing the alarm go off.
"Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, structure fire,"
As you heard the address you head to 61 to deploy for the call.
"Hey why don't you ride shotgun Y/l/N," Mackey suggests, smiling
"Sure, thanks Mackey," you say, opening the passenger side door
"Mackey wanted to ride back?" Sylvie asks
"Yeah, I guess so," you sigh, not looking at her
"Hey, are you alright? You've seemed to be moping for a little bit." Sylvie asks
"Oh I'm fine, a little tired. Lack of sleep," You lie
You were kind of accurate but also very inaccurate. You realized when Sylvie and Grainger were flirting before the call.
"Tell you what, why not tonight after shift I treat you to Molly's?" She suggests
"You sure?" You ask
"Totally," Brett smiles
81, Squad 3 and 61 arrive at the fire. You notice Grainger giving orders out already however, Casey angrily tells him to wait for his orders. Both you and Sylvie watch that unfold but you think nothing of it as Casey is Captain. But you're assuming 40 doesn't have a captain.
After the call, 61 running a severely burned mother to Med, you voluntarily hopped in the back, to avoid Brett seeing your emotions become unfolded. Although they could hear you, you were crying on the inside.
Brett's POV "Hey Mackey do you think Y/l/n is okay?" She asks
"What makes you think that?" Mackey replies back
"On our way to the call earlier she wasn't very talkative like she usually is," she says, "I just wanna know if she's talked to you about anything."
"Nope, she's been quiet about that," Mackey says
Y/n’s POV You lay down on your bed in the quiet area of 51, contemplating life choices. With a handful of Med runs n such, nothing happened out of the ordinary.
"You doing okay kid?" Stella comes over
"Well aside from my jealousy of Grainger easily wooing Brett, I'm fine," you sigh
"You need to tell her before anything happens Y/n," she replies, "You're going to regret it once you decide to tell her when its too late."
"She is inviting me out to Molly's after shift if that means anything.." you say
"That’s the perfect time to do it" Stella smiles before walking away
Once the end of shift came and you make your leave. You try to avoid Brett as much as possible.
"Y/l/n!" Brett calls
You silently sigh to yourself but put on a happy face for her.
"You ready to go love?" She asks, slinging her arm around yours as she drags you along
"For sure," you force a smile
"Hey why don't you join us later, once your done with inventory?" Sylvie suggests to Grainger
"I'd love to," Grainger smiles
On the inside you were freaking out. But you also believed this was the time to tell her, as Stella says.
"Have you been doing okay y/l/n? You're not as talkative as you usually are," Sylvie asks
"Just a long day, like I said this morning Brett, I have had a lack of sleep," you sigh, "Hey I'm gonna get a drink from Stella do you want anything?"
"Just a beer," Sylvie smiles
You smile back, you realize that's the first time you've smiled around Brett.
"Have you told her yet Y/n?” Stella asks, coming over to you
"No," you sigh, "I don't know. You are right by telling her now but I’m just so-"
You notice Stella looking over your shoulder, "Grainger is there isn't he?..."
Stella nods, "Sorry Y/n."
"Two beers," you request, "Might as well be a peace offering."
"Are you gonna stick around?" She asks
"I'm just gonna give them the beers and pretty much lie," you say, "Hey, I'll text you if anything happens."
Stella nods, in approval to your plan. She walks over and gets the beers. You slip her a $10 tip.
"Half of it is working in a full house, the other is... Well, being my Partner in Crime," you smile as you shake off your sadness and force a smile onto your face as you put the beers between the two supposed lovebirds.
"For me?" Grainger smiles
"That's a thanks for today, Welcome to 51," You forcefully smile
My god I want to leave! You begin to feel an inferno build up inside of you. You wanted to punch him in the face but that would not look good on a report.
"Hey, I just remembered I left something at the station. I'm going to run and go grab it and I’m gonna call it a night," you lie, "see you later Boss."
You take your jacket and your helmet and make your leave, putting on your helmet and then gloves. You first make your stop to your apartment, which wasn't too far from Molly's. Grabbing a backpack that would be big enough to store clothes in and essentials. You leave everything clean. As if no one was there. You make haste getting out of your apartment and to your motorcycle, making another leave.
You knock on the door to Boden's office. Which he looks up and greets you how he always does.
"Chief I need to talk to you, if you have a minute," you say, sitting in a chair
"What is it Y/l/n?" He asks
"I know you’re probably not one to listen to somebody's relationship life but um.." You stammer, figuring out how to tell him, "I don't know who else to turn to but only two other people know; Mackey and Kidd. I told them-I told them I really like Brett. However, I’m beginning to see her attraction towards our fill-in Lieutenant; Grainger. But the point is, I'm beginning to feel jealous. On the call this morning I was barely in it until either Mackey or Brett brought me back. I'm not sure if I've ever requested to take time off work. But, I feel that this is the time to. I don't want my emotions getting the best of me again Chief."
"Who else knows about this kind of request?" Boden asks
"Just you and me sir," you reply
"I appreciate the heads up Y/l/n and I appreciate your need to work with your emotions," he says, "How long do you want me to make you absent for?"
"One month," you request
"That's um... That's quite a big request Y/l/n," He sighs
"I understand that completely Chief, but Brett and Mackey are doing an excellent job as a two-person Ambo team, I strongly believe they can do the work in my absence," you say
"If you strongly believe it then so do I," He says, adjusting something on his laptop, "Is there anything else you need?"
"Yes," You sigh, "Don't tell Brett anything of what I told you in this moment. I don't want her feeling guilt over this when she and Mackey have lives to save. But if she does happen to ask, just tell her that I have a family emergency. If-if that's too much I can-"
"It's okay Y/l/n," Boden says, "Go clear your head."
"Thanks Chief," you smile, making your exit
You stop at a gas station to fill up on your motorcycle and eat before your long drive. As you wait for the gas to fill your tank, you hold your phone up to your ear.
"Hey, Stella, it's me," you start
"Hey kid. You doing okay? What's the update?" She asks
"Well, I first went to my apartment to get some things. I then went to the station and requested the Chief for some days off." You say
"How long?" She asks
"A month," you say
"A MON- oh, sorry. A month?" Stella says
"Yeah," you say, "I told Boden that Brett and Mackey and manage without me. It's not like I'm leaving 51."
"That's true," Stella sighs
"Hey, can you pass the word to Mackey too? I told her about this whole thing too," you say, "But neither of you tell Brett. I'm not having her feel guilty over this. This is for me."
"Got it kid, I gotta get back to work. Call me if you wanna talk at all," Stella says
"Noted, bye." You say, hanging up the phone as the gas had just filled up
As you pull off into a parking spot, you make another call.
"Hey, it's me," you smile, "Do you have any space in your house for me to stay in for now? You do? Okay, I'll be there in... God, 3-4 hours. Pull off into a hotel for the night? No, I'm good thanks. I'll make the drive. So long as I'm not in the city anymore. Thanks man, I'll try to keep you posted."
You put your helmet back on and set up your maps into the destination and ride off into the night. Though, you really only made stops at 24-hour gas stations.
Brett's POV The next morning at 51, Brett comes into the station right next to Grainger however, split once they go to their respective engines.
"Hey where's Y/l/n?" Sylvie asks Mackey when she noticed she's not in the ambo
"Family emergency," Mackey replies, clearly lying
"Oh... She didn't tell me," Brett sighs
"She was in a rush, she only figured out last night," Mackey adds
She walks over to Stella, "Hey did Y/l/n tell you-"
"She has a family emergency," Stella says, exactly the same story as Mackey
"She told you too?" Brett asks, "How come she didn't tell me?"
Stella looks at Brett, feeling bad she has to lie to her best friend. However, it was for the best for both you and Brett.
"Who didn't tell you what?" Grainger comes up behind Brett and hugs her
"One of my paramedics had a family emergency and didn't tell me," Brett says
"Well let's not worry about that right now," Grainger smiles as he gives Brett a cheek kiss
"If you guys kiss I’m gonna puke," Stella gags as she walks to the common room, Mackey following
Stella's POV "You're doing a great job Mackey," Kidd says, high-fiving her
"I'd never tell someone's personal info, unless they told me I could. This isn't one of those times," Mackey smiles
"Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Battalion 25, multiple hostile situation at 600 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611"
"That's Navy Pier," Stella realizes
51 deploys to the coordinates that are set in and by the time they get there, different firehouses and police stations are lined at the entrance.
"Voight, talk to me," Boden demands as he walks with them
"Seems like there's more than one perpetrator in this situation," Voight explains, "No casualties thus far, but possible injuries."
Y/n's POV As you get yourself some coffee you pull up the Chicago news radio on your phone.
"This just in, a multiple hostage situation is currently happening at Navy Pier. All civilians near the vicinity must evacuate immediately." The news reporter explains, "All CPD departments and multiple CFD houses are here at the scene.
"Sounds like one crazy adventure," your sister says, "glad your home and away from that."
"Sis, I'm worried," you sigh
"Is it about that Brett girl?" She asks, "forget her. She's missing one hell of an opportunity."
"Thing is I don't know if she's Bisexual." You state
"Even if she is and still sees you differently, she's missing out on a cool little sister," she says, messing up your hair, "I have to head out for work, if you're going out just lock the door and you remember where the spare key is?"
"I do sis," you smile
"See you later," she smiles and she closes the door
You turn back to your phone for the love broadcast of the situation back across Lake Michigan. Your sister was pretty much right on the edge of Michigan, great view of the lake. However, you look out to the window and hope, your house is doing okay. You wish you saw the situation happen from right across it but it was too wide for you to see it happen with your eyes. You sigh, wishing you could leave already. However, you realize your sister has a power boat. You quickly write down a note saying you'll be back and that you're borrowing her power boat. With no sailing experience, turnout gear or medic supplies. Only your bag and communicator, you rush out the door.
"Where's Y/l/n?!" Brett demands Mackey
"Brett you're so blind, Y/n is so into you!" Stella says, blurring out, "She left because she didn't want you to press her into talking to you about it. She didn't want you to see her any different if she told you. Let alone questioning if you like girls and you're beginning to go with hot-shot Grainger over there, so she wanted to get her mind off of her emotions."
Brett stands there, dumbfounded. Why didn't you tell her.
"Stella!" You call into your walkie
"Y/n?" Stella calls back
"On your six!" You say, smiling, "can't stay away."
She runs up to you and gives you a big bear hug.
"Listen up 51, I'm no commanding officer but I do sure know the place on the back of my hand. Captain Casey and Chief Boden... With your permission may I give the orders?" You ask through the walkie
"Yes ma'am," Casey answers
"What's your plan Y/l/n?" Chief Boden asks
"Okay, I scouted the perimeter and there's only, assuming they're away from the windows. Squad 3 you take the Northside, you try to get CPD officers into the building to clear the field for you. Engine 51, to Grainger with any room you have, get your hoses ready should any form of fire start. Truck 81, if shots are fired, move in, get as many civilians out as you can. I'll move in with you guys and give extra arms to help." You announce
You take a giant breath as you finish out your speech. Stella, Brett and Mackey look at you in awe as you've never taken initiative before.
"Y/l/n, I thought I have you on vacation," Boden comes up to you, "And you're not usually one to give orders."
"Apparently can't stay away sir," you sigh, adjusting your belt, "And I know this place all too well."
"Very well Y/l/n," Boden smiles, "You heard the lady men."
You watch Squad 3 and follow Truck 81 as you meet up with Burgess and Ruzek.
"You're gonna need this," Burgess heads you a 9 milimeter
"Thanks..." you say, taking it and concealing it
You hear screaming and gunshots. And hear a blaze begin.
"Grainger fire! I don't know where it is! Find it!" You demand
"You got it kid," he says
"Move in!" The muffled walkie screams as you, along with 81, Burgess, Ruzek and many other CPD officers barge into the building, ringing shots, killing nearly all the perpetrators.
"Hey kiddo it's okay it's okay," you tell her, checking for any signs of injury
"Y/l/n!" Kim yells, you immediately shield the kid as a shot rings out
You let out a strangled scream as your arm is bleeding; a severe gunshot wound. It didn't go into your skin and damage your bone however, the bullet made a real "good" indent in your skin as it rang out. Kim pulls the trigger on her glock 17 and kills the guy immediately. Kim helps you cover your wound as you still hold onto the kid, hoping any parental unit would claim her.
"Mommy," the girl cries
You turn over and see the mom, on the ground. You hand the kid over to Kim as you go to help Severide and Casey. You all get her onto the board to get her to 61.
"Brett, Mackey need the Ambo ready," you speak into your walkie
"Hey Burgess, you can let the girl into the ambo," you say as she helps the little girl into the back
"Aren't you coming with us?" Brett asks
"Can't, I have to take my sisters' power boat back across Lake Michigan," you sigh, "My sister is a doctor over at her local hospital, I'll drive myself over there."
"You're gonna bleed out, you need to get to med," Brett demands, calmly
"I can take care of myself Brett, don't worry about me I'll be fine." You say, trying to walk away
"Y/n!" Brett yells your first name
You never heard Brett call you by your first name. You shake it off before settling back to your stoic self.
"Let me go, please," you say calmly, "I'm only gone for a month."
"Did you tell Stella and Mackey to lie to me?" She asks you
"I didn't want you worrying about me," you sigh, "Besides, I'm going to be fine."
She lets go of you as you walk back to your sisters boat. She felt tears welding into her eyes.
"Brett, we gotta go," Mackey calls out
Mackey shuts the doors as Brett hops into the driver's seat and activates the sirens.
You arrive to your sisters workplace as a nurse rushes over to you.
"What happened?!" She asks
"Zoomed across Lake Michigan and helped my firehouse, but unfortunately I got grazed," you sigh
"Y/n?!" Your sister calls out to you, "oh my god Y/n you took my power boat?!"
You nod, "They needed my help."
"You have never changed," she laughs, "I can check you out."
Once your sister had stitched up your wound she discharged you from the hospital. Once you get back to your sisters place, you open your Chicago news app. The first article that comes up is the one from earlier.
"Firehouse 51 paramedic makes a chief-status plan while on this call today," The news reporter says, "According to 51s' Captain Matt Casey, it was an astounding plan. Girl's a hero."
You sigh as you don't really feel like a hero, just another day as a paramedic.
Your sister comes home late at night however, doesn't find you anywhere.
"Called Chief Boden and told him I changed my mind on my one month vacation, I'm heading back to 51 right now." Your sister read aloud, "Bought you something that’s in the fridge for taking care of me for a short time."
You park your motorcycle in one of the street parking slots as you keep your helmet on for secrecy. Without knowing it was you, Brett walks past you. Once you get to your locker, you try to make a quick haste to get yourself ready.
"In a rush?" Stella smiles
She comes up to you and gives you a big bear hug.
"Missed you kid," she smiles
Before you could say anything else you hear arguing from afar. You and Stella go to the garage and notice Brett and Grainger arguing.
"So you led me on?" He asks
"Not exactly, I wasn't aware of Quinn's feelings and I wasn't sure how to process it," Brett starts, "I just-"
"Just what Sylvie?" He asks, angrily
You notice she's beginning to falter.
"Y/n left, and for what?" He asks her, "She isn't a Lieutenant, Captain, or Chief! What makes her so special?! I don't think you made the right choice of making her on your paramedic team. How are YOU even the paramedic-in-charge?"
You've had enough, "HEY!"
They both turn to you, Brett almost crying years of joy. You place a gentle hand onto her shoulder, reassuring her that you'll settle this.
"You have NO RIGHT to question her position as Paramedic-in-Charge Mr. Hot shot Lieutenant." You spat in his face
He was about to open his mouth to say something else, but closes it when you give him the look of: 'oh I'm not done mister!'.
"She’s one of the GREATEST PICs I have ever worked with in my years of being in the Fire Department service. She’s one of the VERY few, that I am honored to be working with, one I come to know and love." You continue, "You question that position? And for what? The most beautiful Paramedic is beginning to question herself and what SHE wants? No, one should always be supportive. No matter what, you should leave my guy."
"Hate to tell you rookie, I'm not leaving yet," he tries to sound smug
"Oh you're leaving alright buddy," Hermann says, walking into the firehouse
He doesn't say anything else but give you one last look of disgust before leaving. You let out a breath of relief. Stella and Mackey applaud for you.
"You stood up for me?" Brett asks, looks at you, "Don't you hate me for hurting you?"
"Brett," you smile, "I never did hate you. I left so I could clear my head."
She smiles as she hugs you, "my god oh how I've missed you."
Your head drops down and rests on Brett's shoulder for your head to be cradled.
"I'm sorry Sylvs," you call her by her nickname, "You remember how I used to act... I didn't want that happening again."
"You could've just talked to me love," Brett whispers
After shift you head over to Molly's with Stella.
"How's your arm kid?" She asks
"Hurts but my sister stair to be careful, and then just have someone at med undo the stitches." You say
"That's good, that's good," Stella states, "You know, Brett was worried sick on that call this morning."
"Really?" You ask, leaning in towards Stella
"Speak of the Devil, there she is," Stella smiles, waving her over
"You look great Quinn," Brett smiles
"You look beautiful Sylvs," you smile back, sipping your whiskey
Stella looks at you, a look you know too well. That says, "go get your girl!"
You make fun if her look and then turn your attention to Brett.
"So Brett, how you been doing the last couple of days?" You ask
"Worrying about you," she sighs
You nearly choke on your drink as that though has never crossed your mind. You only thought that Sylvie had eyes for Grainger. Of all people, she worries about you.
“Really?” You ask, clearing your throat, “Why’s that?”
“you didn’t talk to me before heading off to your sister’s,” She says, “Also for telling Stella and Mackey to lie to me.”
“I didn’t want you to worry about me,” You say, “I wasn’t about to have my emotions get the best of me again.”
“You remember last time?” Sylvie asks
“Of course I do,” You say
“Do you want to get out of here?” Sylvie asks, “I know you don’t want that kind of thing to be talked about in public.”
“Sure,” You smile
You get a glance at Stella and she gives you a face of ‘go get your woman girl!’
Once the both of you reach your apartment, you follow Sylvie into hers.
“Remember that time I helped you calm down?” She finally asks
You nod, “I never did.”
“As soon as I touched you, you instantly calmed down,” She explains, “So, if what happened between us the other night affected your emotions, how come you didn’t tell me sooner?”
“Because I wasn’t sure if you were also into girls,” You confess, “You’re THE Sylvie Brett, one of the greatest people I’ve come to know and love in my life. And I’m just... Me... A paramedic with anger issues.”
“And I love you,” Sylvie confesses
Realizing what she had just said to you made her cheeks heat up. You look at her the same way. You gently press her against the doorframe to her room and place your lips along hers, building that inferno in your heart that burns for her.

Loki Episode 3 Spoilers!
I wanna talk about Sylvie and her being the Enchantress.
I believe she is truly a Loki variant.
I want to make it clear that I'm not taking the stance she CAN'T be the Enchantress, that isn't my point. My point is I personally do not believe she is not a Loki Variant and I'm going to share evidence to support that.
Also to further clarify, I 100% see that they are drawing inspiration from Enchantress to make Sylvie's character and could see her calling herself the Enchantress, but I do 100% believe she is a Loki Variant.
What I think is the most important is respect. I have a friend who knows nothing about the comics and she got yelled at by another friend for not knowing the Enchantress from the comics and not believing it. Comic fans, cut this out. I know 95% of comic fans who read this won't ever do that, but please be kind to people who haven't read the comics. But regardless, if you are reading this and believe she is the Enchantress and NOT a Loki Variant at all, I'm not trying to disrespect you, please don't disrespect me.
So, all that out of the way, here are my points.
(If you agree with me or don't really care, this is also just a ton of infodumping and character analysis)
1. The MCU loosely follows the comics
This isn't specific evidence but it is worth mentioning, the MCU will change the comics all the time. Thanos is very different in the MCU than the comics, The Guardians are incredibly different, Quill's heritage of being a kid of Ego is an almost completely original story, Civil War's plot varies wildly, there are countless examples. It culminated in WandaVision, where a lot of comic fans got incredibly burned with our predictions, me included (my guess was about Fietro, but I'm mostly referencing Mephisto). Plenty characters also take from others. Nando V Movies has an entire series on it, a notable villain being "Hela isn't Hela." In that video and series he details how some MCU characters draw from many comic characters. So it is not outside the realm of possibility or probability the MCU is taking parts from Enchantress Sylvie and changing it heavily.
I am aware Sylvie is an Enchantress in the comics but her origins have already seemed to vary wildly, so I would assume we are taking her comic self with a grain of salt. I however am by no means an authority on comics Sylvie, I literally just read her wiki page.
Tumblr media
2) Addressing things I attribute to being Genderqueer/Genderfluid
We don't know much about Sylvie's identity so as a blanket statement I will be referring to her as genderqueer. If I use this term incorrectly, let me know.
A large piece of evidence Enchantress fans use is Sylvie hates being called Loki. That COULD be an Enchantress piece of evidence, but it also can very clearly be a genderqueer thing. If she is just trans or largely prefers a feminine appearance/identity, it makes sense she wouldn't like her birth name. I'm Trans MTF and I HATE my birth name, it is very common.
Loki in the show still uses Loki and seems very attached to it, but Sylvie is clearly VERY different. Loki himself is confirmed as Genderfluid, and Sylvie obviously has a very different experience in life from him, so we can expect variance in identity as well. If a version of Loki can be like THIS:
Tumblr media
An already Genderqueer character can be queer in a different way.
Also, her blonde hair being different from Loki's is not an indication she isn't a Loki, changing hair color is so easy it means almost nothing.
Also, isn't the joke that Genderqueer people dye their hair a lot?
3) Her different power set and background
The fact she calls it enchanting is a pretty big indicator, I'll give you that. But the fact her powers function differently than Loki's doesn't automatically means she is not a Loki.
This is discovered as they talk about their backgrounds, Loki grew up and was taught by Frigga while Sylvie was not. Now, we know their pasts vary anyway since Sylvie learned she was adopted much earlier, but this can be taken two ways in my mind and BOTH explain the difference in powersets.
Tumblr media
The obvious is that if Sylvie was not taught by Frigga, she'd have different magic. But an interesting hypothesis is that Sylvie went through becoming a TVA agent and escaped, her memories tampered with, affecting her memories of her training and parents, explaining why she says her mother is a distant memory. That's a hypothesis, but it could explain her different powerset even if she was a standard Loki initially. That could also affect her identity but I would honestly rather it didn't, it feels weird and off, but it's a possibility.
4) Loki's Reaction to Her
Loki notes many times she isn't "acting like a Loki", but I find it much more probable he's just full of himself instead of her not being one.
Loki is interesting because he is incredibly perceptive yet presumptuous at once. He picked up on two Tony Stark's and deduced it was time travel, but he assumed they were trying a last ditch effort to stop him since he succeeded. He is very perceptive of what Sylvie is trying to accomplish, but he doesn't understand WHY she wants to (he's been told, but he can't fathom not wanting to rule).
Tumblr media
The point is, Loki's narrative is not the factual narrative. He notices Sylvie doesn't act like him and that's true! But he speaks of it like she can't be a Loki because he OBVIOUSLY is the gold standard when tons of evidence already listed in earlier sections speak to this difference being due to different life experiences, and his failure to acknowledge this so far is because of his ego, at least in my mind.
Also, the two are also very similar in a lot of respects. Sylvie guesses his sexuality and he in turn says she must be the same, they also both have an affinity for bladed weapons.
I believe the scene where they both try to get into the woman's home illustrates their similarity VERY well. They try different ways of getting in, yes. But they both assume the other will fail, they both are incredibly confident, and both of their confidences get them shot.
5) If she isn't a Loki, why impersonate him?
That's a genuine question, if you have an answer let me know.
What is the benefit of impersonating a Loki? It offers no tactical advantage in my mind. Sure, she is the TVA's biggest threat, but she seems to not understand the general viewpoint of Loki. Mobius calls him pathetic and states Loki's have the highest variance rate, they must be fairly easy to catch.
You could argue that she impersonated a Loki BECAUSE the TVA expects so little of Loki, which is a fair point i can't counter. However, it did blow up in her face since Loki was able to track her (and him tracking her as fast as he did is more evidence that she is indeed a Loki).
So, in Conclusion,
She is certainly at least partially based on an Enchantress from the comics, but I believe there is more than enough evidence to show, both in the show Loki and the MCU as a whole, that she is truly a variant of Loki.

Loki Series Rewrite (AKA Loki Series but with Squirrel Girl): Ep 1
Hey guys! Long story short, I wasn’t a fan of the Loki series, so I decided to make my own rewrite (including my favorite Marvel character, Squirrel Girl!) These are basically a collection of scenes that I would’ve either added or rewritten to improve the show. Btw, this is a continuation of my Endgame rewrite where Loki comes back to life after dying in Infinity War, so the Loki in this version is modern-day Loki, not 2012 Loki. Also, the whole Loki x Sylvie self-cest thing made me VEEERRRRY UNCOMFY, so I got rid of it. Their relationship is purely platonic in this. Anyways, enjoy! (This work is in screenplay format.)
INT. TVA - DAY
We pan through the TVA and see agents at work, checking timelines and watching training videos. We see various TVA posters warning about variants and "protecting the sacred timeline."
We then cut to RAVONNA RENSLAYER in her office. She is at her desk, sorting through files. Suddenly, an agent bursts in.
AGENT
Ma'am, we have a situation.
Ravonna follows the agent to a computer, where we see a timeline branching off from the main one.
AGENT
Is this the variant we've been searching for?
Ravonna glances at the computer and nods.
RAVONNA
About damn time...
EXT. CHICAGO BAR, 1986 - NIGHT
We see a woman with long, black hair and a green dress chatting with a man in a bar. The song "Devil Woman" by Cliff Richard is playing in the background.
MAN
Can I interest you in another drink, beautiful?
The woman lets out a flirty laugh and blushes.
WOMAN
Oh, you're too kind.
The man turns to the bartender.
MAN
Hey, can you get my girl here a...
(He turns to the woman.)
What can I get you, honey?
WOMAN
Surprise me.
The man turns back to the bartender.
MAN
You heard her.
The woman has a devilish smirk on her face as she watches them. The man turns back to her as the bartender starts mixing a drink.
MAN
You know, I feel selfish. I've been talking so much about myself, but I still don't know a thing about you.
WOMAN
Well... what do you want to know?
Suddenly, another man approaches them.
MAN #2
Hey, what do you think you're doing with my date?!
MAN
Your date? She's mine, asshole!
MAN #2
I caught her first!
(He turns to the woman.)
I'm sorry, honey, is this guy bothering you?
MAN
Bothering her?! You listen here, shithead-
He grabs the other man and they begin to wrestle with each other.
WOMAN
(Playfully)
Oh no, please don't fight over me...
As the men grow more violent, a bit of green magic shoots out of the woman's hand, causing the first man's wallet to fly into her grasp. She slips by the men, undetected as the bartender tries to break them up. Outside the bar, the woman walks off. With a smirk, she shifts into LOKI, now in his male form. He unveils the tesseract with magic and disappears.
INT. THE BENATAR - NIGHT
Loki reappears in the Guardians' ship, where Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy are waiting for him. Loki smirks.
LOKI
Another successful venture.
THOR
Did they fight?
LOKI
Like bilgesnipe.
Thor bursts into laughter, and Loki hands Rocket the wallet.
LOKI
I also got the wallet, as requested. Although, I don't think Midgardian currency will have much value on the far side of the galaxy.
ROCKET
Who cares about the money? I just wanted the wallet.
(He dumps out the dollar bills and admires the wallet.)
This is nice leather...
LOKI
Anyone else have any travel requests?
QUILL
Oh, I got a whole bunch.
NEBULA
Quit acting like children. An infinity stone is not a toy to be played with.
LOKI
Oh, please. The tesseract and I go far back. If anyone can control it, I can.
ROCKET
You know, I'm starting to think you've just gotten sick of being around us, and now you're just looking for an excuse to get away.
LOKI
I will neither confirm nor deny that.
THOR
By that, he means "yes."
ROCKET
That's pretty rude of you, grease weasel.
Loki scowls at him.
DRAX
Can you travel to Kylos? I would greatly enjoy having some trego fruit again.
LOKI
Certainly.
The tesseract starts to glow in his hands.
INT. TVA - DAY
The agent and Ravonna are still at the computer.
AGENT
He's using the stone again. He's going to time-jump.
RAVONNA
Block it. Intercept him.
The agent presses a button.
EXT. MONGOLIA - DAY
Loki crash lands in the Gobi Desert and wakes up, looking utterly confused as a group of villagers approach him.
VILLAGER
(in Mongolian)
Who are you? Why have you come to our home?
Loki raises an eyebrow and opens his mouth to respond. Suddenly, a portal opens and several TVA agents enter. They lean down to examine the tesseract, and Loki abruptly rushes over to them.
LOKI
Don't touch that!
The agents ready their prune sticks. Suddenly, HUNTER B-15 opens a portal and enters.
HUNTER B-15
It appears to be a standard sequence violation.
(She checks her tem-pad)
Branch is growing at a stable rate and slope. Variant identified.
LOKI
I beg your pardon?
HUNTER B-15
On behalf of the Time Variance Authority, I hereby arrest you for crimes against the sacred timeline. Hands up.
The agents activate their prune sticks.
HUNTER B-15
You're coming with us.
LOKI
I'm sorry, who's "us"?
Hunter B-15 activates her own prune stick.
HUNTER B-15
Last chance, variant.
Loki chuckles.
LOKI
Look, I don't know who the hell you seem to think you are... But if you don't mind, this is actually your last chance.
(Beat)
Now get out of my way.
Before he can attack, Hunter B-15 strikes him with her stick.
INT. TVA COURTROOM - DAY
Ravonna pounds her gavel.
RAVONNA
Next case, please!
Hunter B-15 forces Loki onto the stand.
RAVONNA
"Laufeyson"... Variant L1130, aka "Loki Laufeyson"...
LOKI
I prefer "Odinson," thank you.
After a pause, Ravonna shrugs.
RAVONNA
Very well...
(She crosses out "Laufeyson" on his case file and writes in "Odinson.")
Loki Odinson, you are charged with sequence violation 7-20-89. How do you plead?
Loki chuckles.
LOKI
Madam, a god doesn't plead. Look, this has been a very enjoyable pantomime, but I'd like to go home now.
RAVONNA
Are you guilty or not guilty, sir?
Loki smirks.
LOKI
Guilty of being the god of mischief, yes. Guilty of finding all of this incredibly tedious, yes. Guilty of a... "crime"... against the "sacred timeline"? Absolutely not, you have the wrong person.
RAVONNA
Oh, really? And who should we have?
LOKI
Well, in my defense, the only reason I ever came in possession of the tesseract is because the Avengers traveled back in time.
Mobius enters the courtroom.
RAVONNA
We're not here to talk about the Avengers. What they did was supposed to happen; you reviving yourself with the tesseract and running around time, causing chaos was not.
Loki laughs.
LOKI
I'm sorry - not supposed to happen according to whom?
RAVONNA
The timekeepers.
INT. TIME THEATER - DAY
Mobius is showing Loki clips of his life and trying to dig deeper into his psyche.
MOBIUS
You know, trying to kill all the frost giants, invading Earth, I don't see anything very mischievous about this...
He plays a clip of the bifrost nearly destroying Jotunheim. A family of frost giants runs in fear as the land is destroyed. A little girl screams as her father is vaporized by the blast. Loki is visibly uncomfortable.
MOBIUS
Look at that. Did you enjoy doing that?
LOKI
Enough of your games. You've made your point.
Ignoring him, Mobius plays the clip of him telling Kurse where to go.
MOBIUS
And then, you tried tricking the dark elves into finding Thor, but instead, you sent them right to Frigga.
Loki tenses when he sees Frigga fighting Malekith.
LOKI
I don't want to watch this.
He winces, trying to keep himself together, as he watches Malekith stab Frigga.
MOBIUS
Well, you're going to watch it. Because that's your life, that's the consequences of your actions, and that is the proper flow of time! Now, why don't you tell me, do you enjoy hurting people?
LOKI
I don't have to play your games-
MOBIUS
Do you enjoy killing?
LOKI
I'll kill you.
MOBIUS
What, like you did your mother?
Enraged, Loki tosses a chair at him. Mobius dodges it, and it flies through the hologram of Frigga's dead body. Loki lunges at Mobius, but he uses the time twister to send him back on the ground. Loki growls in pain.
MOBIUS
Sorry, the time twister just loops you, not the furniture. You weren't born to be king, Loki. You were born to cause pain and suffering and death. That's how it is, that's how it was, and that's how it always will be. All so that others can achieve their best versions of themselves.
LOKI
(Voice cracking)
That's not true. You're lying.
MOBIUS
It is true. Your life ended after Thanos snapped your neck, because you fulfilled your purpose of assembling the Avengers to destroy you. Your purpose was never to become a hero. You're a villain, and that will never change as long as the sacred timeline runs its course.
INT. TIME THEATER - DAY
After Loki escapes and returns to the time theater on his own, he finds a folder of papers on the table. He opens it and reads the first file. It reads "LOKI ODINSON - MAIN OBJECTIVES: MURDER, LIE, MANIPULATE. LIFE PURPOSE: CATALYST FOR THE AVENGERS. OBJECTIVE FULFILLED. LIFE TERMINATED. END OF FILE.
Horrified, Loki stares at the file as tears run down his face. After a moment, he starts laughing as Hunter B-15 enters.
HUNTER B-15
Something funny?
After a pause, Loki shakes his head.
LOKI
Glorious purpose...
INT. TIME THEATER - DAY
Loki is talking with Mobius after being apprehended again.
LOKI
I will admit, the TVA is... formidable. Even an infinity stone is useless here.
(Beat)
You're not going to let me return to my own timeline, are you?
(Beat)
MOBIUS
Normally, no, we wouldn't. But... if you help us... maybe the timekeepers might be willing to make an exception. A rogue variant's been killing our minutemen.
LOKI
And you need the god of mischief to help you stop him?
MOBIUS
That's right.
LOKI
Why me?
MOBIUS
The variant we're hunting is... you.
Have some actual Lady Loki yay!
So yeah, the purpose of this episode was mainly to re-establish the show within the continuity of my version of Endgame. Squirrel Girl comes in next episode!

Loki, E4 | My thoughts with spoilers
Ok, so I watched the episode twice today because
It was so damn good!
and I needed to make my thoughts about it real clear but they’re still pretty much the same.
That was such a rollercoaster and even though I’ve never been on a real rollercoaster I do love when stories make me feel like I am in one.
I want to talk about Sylvie because I’m completely enamored with her but I also want to leave my best talk for the end so hold on for it.
Let’s talk about the TVA first. I haven’t voiced out my thoughts about this thing because I’ve mostly been saying how I feel in my reviews on my YT channel but since I just finished an exam and I’m tired and don’t want to film in the least, I’ll pour my thoughts about the TVA here: I knew they completely sucked. An organization with that much control has to have dirty laundry. I figured the antagonist of the story was going to be either the Time Keepers or Ravonna, I don’t believe it’s any of them anymore, tho. 1, the Time Keepers, or at least the three lizards we’ve met are robots; 2, Ravonna is nothing but the person in charge, we were shown how before her there was somebody else so she’s just following orders. I really want to see more about this because I’m intrigued because who has the power to create the TVA if not the Time Keepers?
Loki: Am I loving his character? I’m loving his character. He’s never been one of my faves, and by this I mean not like it is for some other people, I’ve always been engaged in his story but I’ve never loved him deeply like I love other characters (because it’s quite unusual for me to love characters anyway) but I love when we get into more depth and Loki has always had that in his story, still I’ve loved his development in Ragnarok and now I’m loving it even more because we’re getting a different point of view. This is not the Loki we saw in Ragnarok but a defeated Loki who found out his glorious purpose meant absolutely nothing and he saw his entire life until the point of his death, he saw his family die, his planet destroyed and because he’s now a variant it is impossible for him to live that life, he can only know what would have been. I feel he’s broken and hurt, but over all alone.
Loki and Sylvie: and with Loki feeling alone is where I feel Sylvie comes along. She’s been alone most of her life by now, from apocalypse to apocalypse, trusting no one but herself, focusing only on her goal. Loki and Sylvie are so different yet so very much alike and I love that between their relationship (besides the fact that Tom and Sophia have amazing chemistry and I’ve been loving their performance together since last episode). They are quite different, the way they were brought up is what makes them different, yet they understand each other so well because their main connection comes from their loneliness.
That’s where the scene with Lady Sif makes sense to me, the one thing the memory of Sif keeps on repeating is how Loki is and will always be alone, and yet he isn’t. That’s the whole point, that’s what created (in my opinion) a branch that could completely fracture reality: the fact that neither Sylvie nor Loki are alone anymore. They don’t have to fight against the world, the universe and time on their own anymore.
Sylvie: I mentioned I’m completely enamored with her and that’s as true as it gets. Sophia Di Martino is simply perfect for this role, I enjoy her so much and she’s a complete sweetheart.
Now about the character, Sylvie is interesting for so many reasons, she’s pretty much an enigma, that kind of character you meet and you want to know more and more of, and like I said, it’s quite difficult for me to love a character but I think I fell for her right away. Since episode three I’ve been wanting to know more about her past and let me tell you:
SYLVIE LAUFEYDOTTIR CAUSED A NEXUS EVENT BECAUSE SHE WAS A GOOD PERSON.
It’s not that she shouldn’t exist, is that she shouldn’t be good in her existence. She’s kindhearted, soft and gentle, you can see that from her. She grew up tough and she’s as well, she’s actually a badass, but you can also see the good in her because no matter how much hardship a person goes through the good will remain within.
That’s it, I guess, that’s pretty much all I have to say about this episode. I loved it, I’m eagerly waiting for the next one.

Fluff prompt 17 & Brettsey ❤️
“I’m pretty sure (you’re/she’s/he’s/they’re) my soulmate”
******
Monthly dinner with his sister and his niece is proving itself to be interesting. Honestly, this month he feared he wouldn’t be in the mood for it given the self-loathing hole he’s fallen into. It started with self reflection in an effort to answer Sylvie’s question and then spiraled from there.
It became a nightmarish clipshow of all the arguments and fights he’d had with Gabby. Deep in the archives of his memory he found a dusty padlocked trunk full of their relationship’s flaws and weaknesses. When she left he hadn’t let himself dwell on them but not unpacking those hurt feelings had in turn caused him to hurt Sylvie.
And that could never be allowed to happen again.
He needed to process it all but it left him feeling rather cynical. He had horrible luck with relationships. Why should Sylvie be any different?
Except, she is. She’s very different. He doesn’t know how he knows she’s different. He simply...does.
He has no idea what to do with that certainty so lately he’s been ignoring it in favor of his more instinctual wallowing.
Which is part of the reason dinner is interesting.
It seems his niece, now in her freshman year of college, has fallen in love. The young kind. The kind you believe to be invincible despite it having never been tested. Even if he’s in a cynical mood, he still finds it...sweet.
“I’m pretty sure he’s my soulmate,” Violet explains, spearing a bit of salad onto her fork.
Christie shakes her head with a fond grin.
But Matt is curious. “What makes you say that?”
She smiles broadly at the question, happy to have her feelings acknowledged by an adult. “Well, we want all the same things — right now anyway. He never judges my decisions, he just listens to me as I make them. He never tries to solve my problems for me. He doesn’t act like I have to be his entire world or that he has a right to know all my secrets. I don’t know, I guess he makes me feel free. Like I’m not having to meet any unrealistic expectations and I can relax, you know? I can genuinely be me and not the person people think I am. I mean I get that we’re young and I’ve got a lot of the world I still need to see but...when you find someone like that shouldn’t you hold on to it? Whether you're eighteen or, well, as old as you are, Uncle Matt.”
The last part is said with a teasing twinkle in her eye and he chuckles at her, tossing a piece of his dinner roll at her.
“I take the time to actually ask you about this guy and then you turn around and call me old? You’ve grown up to be a real brat. You know that?”
She laughs, shrugs, and sticks her tongue out at him the way she used to do when she was a lot younger. It reminds him of how quickly time has passed.
Of how much of it he’s wasted.
But it’s more than that because Violet’s words nestle into his brain like the overly catchy chorus of a pop song. They repeat in his head over and over as his 48 hours off ticks away — like a song on replay.
“He makes me feel free.”
“I can genuinely be me and not the person people think I am.”
“When you find someone like that shouldn’t you hold on to it?”
He may be older than Violet but her youthful optimism is taking him to school. His niece has always been precocious but these words are wise beyond her years.
Because she’s right. When you find someone who allows you to safely be your true self you should hold on to them. That may very well be the definition of a soulmate for all he knows…
So, why is he letting his go?
He walks into Molly’s, a man on a mission. He’s been energized by Violet’s hope and idealism. He can do this. He can talk to Sylvie and tell her how he feels and what he wants. They can work. They can be happy. He knows they can and that, he suddenly realizes, is what makes her different. He has no doubt he could make her happy. In fact, he’s confident they could make each other the happiest they’ve ever been...if only she’ll take the leap.
He spots Sylvie in the back, at a table with Mackey and Kidd. He ignores Herrmann’s hello and marches straight to them.
“I’ve reconsidered,” Matt declares to the table.
Sylvie’s brow furrows in confusion, head tilting slightly. “Reconsidered what?”
“A lot of things,” he says honestly, holding her stare and blocking out Kidd and Mackey’s wide eyed expressions. “But mostly your question and my answer and then your resulting request for space.”
He’s powering through his fears and his nerves and apparently that means using his commanding captain voice. Not exactly the tone he imagined he’d use but he’s getting the words out. The words he intends to say, the words he’s been thinking for weeks, are actually leaving his lips. If it works, he’s not changing it now.
“Um, okay,” Sylvie replies, cheeks turning pink as her teeth pull at her bottom lip.
He can tell he’s surprised her and she’s not sure how to respond so he continues. “I don’t want to give you space. In fact, I don’t want any distance between us at all. Ever.”
Her eyes water but a tear never falls and she doesn’t look away. She swallows thickly and shakes her head. “We talked about this. I told you it can’t happen again—“
“Because there is no regardless of Gabby, I know. I’m still unpacking that baggage,” he tells her honestly. “And you’re right there is no regardless of Gabby, but that doesn’t mean I still want her. Do I want her to be happy? Yes. Will I always feel some sort of love for her? Yes. But I’m not in love with her anymore and I don’t want to be. I want you. The truth is, I was never able to really be the person I wanted to be with Gabby. I didn’t feel as if I could be but with you—with you—I have no other choice to be authentically me. You bring that out in me and, now that I see that, I have no intention of letting you go.”
The trepidation he saw in her expression earlier melts away, leaving a blinding smile in its place. Her eyes are glistening and her face is flushing. Their eyes never move from each other. His smile shifts to match hers.
Sylvie stands from her chair, slips her arms in her coat, and without looking away from him says, “Stella, Gianna, I’ll see you both on shift tomorrow.”
“I’ll make sure Severide knows not to worry when Casey doesn’t make it home,” Kidd says with a wry grin.
Mackey turns to Kidd with an elated expression. “I knew it! I knew I saw something!”
Sylvie ignores them both and slips her hand into his, pulling him toward the exit. “Come with me.”
The rest of the bar is still hazy. All he sees is Sylvie’s blonde hair and sunny smile. He knows there’s other people in the room but they feel very far away.
They step out of the stuffy bar and into the cool night air. She drags him down the street until she finds his truck in it’s usual parking spot and then stops, turning to face him, looking overjoyed and yet still shy.
“So, I make you feel like yourself, huh?” She asks as her smile turns coy.
“You think I let just anyone hear my Australian accent?” He asks, with a secretive grin.
A short burst of laughter escapes her. “That’s good to know. It’s truly terrible.”
He takes her other hand and tugs her closer until they’re nearly standing chest to chest. Their amused expressions sober at the tension that crackles between them.
“Sylvie, I really believe we could work,” he confesses. “I think we could be great and I want a chance to prove it.”
She squeezes his hands and lifts herself up onto her toes until their noses are touching. “You make me feel like myself too, Matt. You don’t want me to be more than I am or expect me to change any part of myself for you. That’s what pulled me in, even if I didn’t want it to. You wanted to be there for me, exactly as I am. It’s hard to resist.”
“Then don’t,” he pleads. “Don’t resist. Take a leap with me. Please.”
“If we do this—“
He smiles eagerly, suddenly hopeful this might go his way.
“—we both have to be all in, Matt. That means talking about the tough topics and really putting in the work to make sure we understand each other.”
He nods, nose bumping hers. “I’m all in. We’re already discussing the tough topics and we haven’t even been on a date,” he reminds her. “I am more than willing to keep talking. I’ll talk all night if you want. I’m an open book. Anytime you want.”
“You also have to promise me that you’ll tell me if I ever make you feel as if you can’t be yourself with me,” Sylvie says, hands slipping into his hair. “I want you, Matt. Whoever you choose to be and whatever dreams you choose to have, you’re the one I want. I don’t want you to ever hide any of that from me.”
“I won’t,” he promises. “You’re getting every bit of me from here on out. I swear.”
“Good,” she says, beaming at him with happy tears gathering in her lashes. “That’s all I’ve been wanting for entirely too long.”
“Then what’s the final verdict, Brett?” He asks as his arms slowly encircle her waist. “Are we doing this?”
She sighs happily and nods. “Yeah, we’re doing this.”
That’s all he needs to hear. He yanks her forward until she’s pressed flush against him and then swoops in, sealing his mouth to hers. With every sip he takes from her lips his cynicism washes away. She’s a fountain of truth and light and he feels fortunate to be near her. The sheer amount of happiness he feels, as he continues to kiss her on the sidewalk outside of Molly’s, is a shock to his system.
And, he thinks, he has Violet to thank for it.
If soulmates do exist then she helped him see that his has been right in front of him all along.

I watched Loki episode 4...
I didn’t make a post about episode 3 since there wasn’t much to really write about beside the truth of the TVA but I just saw episode 4 and guys, I need to talk about it. So it’s revealed that the TVA workers are all Variants who had their memory wiped. Loki tries to tell Mobius who dismisses and insults him. That on it’s own got me wanting to talk but we’ll ignore that. So Sylvie says she was a kid when the TVA took her and we get to see what she was doing before her capture. Based on how fast they arrived when Loki first caused a nexus event, it’s safe to say that they arrived just as quickly for Sylvie. It seemed to me that Sylvie had been playing there for quite a while. She didn’t seem like she did anything major and earlier on, Ravonna says she doesn’t remember what they took Sylvie for with a smug smirk. I think Sylvie was taken for something small and ridiculous like saying the wrong thing or playing with the wrong toy and Ravonna knows this. She also shows no sign of shock when the Time Keepers turn out to be robots. I think Ravonna was one of the first people to have arrived in the TVA, maybe even helped build it. I also think she doesn’t know what the pruning stick actually does. Near the end we are tricked into thinking they killed Loki but after the beautiful outro we get a cutscene. Loki is alive, he kept his injuries but he’s alive and not alone. In front of him was different variations of his self with broken buildings in the background. The building structure makes me assume that this place used to be on earth before all life died. I also think that this is where all Loki’s get sent. I have reason to believe that when someone is ‘pruned’, they are actually sent to a realm where all of their variations go to. That would mean Loki is in a realm of Lokis (sounds like heaven) and that Mobius who was also ‘pruned’ could be in a realm of Mobius’. The Lokis also say that if our Loki doesn’t come with them he will be dead. I think there’s someone or something in that realm assigned to kill them. Of course the Lokis figure out how to survive though. My prediction is that Sylvie finds out the truth from Ravonna but not all of it, Loki teams up with the other Lokis to find a way out and learns what Sylvie didn’t. They take down the TVA and give everyone’s memories back before going their separate ways. Maybe they’ll have Sylvie and Loki, maybe even Mobius stay together at the end. I personally want them to let Sylvie finally go home and Loki to finally be in his brother’s embrace again. I also feel like Loki got pretty attached to Mobius, so maybe Mobius stays with him if he doesn’t want to return to his original timeline. I kind of want Loki and Sylvie to go different paths. As for how the variants would get back to their timeline, the device they use to ‘delete’ timelines is similar to the ‘pruning’ device, which means those timelines could still exist just distanced from the other timelines. If that’s true, I won’t be surprised to find out there’s a twist. It’s just a hunch but what if instead of ‘destroying’ the timelines they rewrite it so that the variant is forgotten completely. I have no proof, just a gut feeling but that’s about it. The last thing I want to say is B-15 won me over, Mobius was kind of a dick, I hate Ravonna but her actress is really pretty, and the Sylvie/Loki relationship is kind of weird but okay. My reasoning for liking B-15 a bit: I wanted to stab her at first but once she realized the truth she became my number 1. While she says some things while the Lokis are gone in the start of the episode, she seemed off when saying so and eventually showed how worried and caring she could be and I love that. Not to mention her power move at the end where she gives her life to helping the Lokis. Like she showed up ready to help, took the collars off, gave them a sword, and fought to the death. That made my heart ache.

Concept: Ever heard that bazzi song? Well that’s what this is about, literally all because of this song. It’s been stuck in my head, so I put it on repeat, and this came from it. WARNING: SEXUAL CONTENT (no smut, I don’t write smut. But this piece has sexual content and implied things) So this should be fun huh? Hope you enjoy ;)
I let out out a quiet gasp, my eyes trained on the tv in front of me, showing the places I could only dream of going to, the places where fantasies come true. My eyes stay trained on the screen, the various destinations floating across, my mind drifting to what the future could be like, not even noticing the beautiful boy take a seat next to me on the couch. I’m startled from my day dream as a hand lands on my thigh, my head turning to look at the green eyed boy, watching the thoughtful expression that crosses his face as he observes me.
“What’re you thinking about baby?” He questions, eyes flitting to the tv, watching as the man on screen talks about travel destinations and the experiences they offer. His eyes meet mine again, a small smirk tugging at his lips, his brain already forming a plan. “Wanna go to one of those places?” He chuckles out, his eyes taking in the glazed look in mine, watching the way my eyes trail over every inch of the screen, absolutely entranced.
“Of course I do, I mean who doesn’t want to go travel these places” I mumble, a frown taking over my lips. Ruel grabs on to my legs, pulling them up on to his lap, using one of his hands to start trailing his fingers up and down the inside of my thigh. I watch his hands in a daze, the feeling of his fingertips brushing against my legs instantly flustering me, my heart picking up in speed as he continues his movements. “Those are places I’ll only ever dream of going to though“ I barely choke out, trying to ignore the building tension between us, knowing Kate was just in the next room over from us. He lets out a laugh as I finish my sentence, giving me a boyish grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
“You should know by now that you can go where you wanna go” he muses, hinting at the money he’s made with his career, watching the hesitant look that appears in my eyes at his insinuation. I open my mouth to protest his offer, not wanting him to spend that kind of money on me, only for my mouth to be shut as he leans forward and gives me a light kiss. “I can take you there.” He confidently states, leaving no room for argument, his plan already with a confirmed destination as my eyes snap and light up at the screen at the mention of Greece.
“Ruel no, don’t even think about it. I don’t want you spending your money on me like that” I groan out, watching as my words go in one ear, and completely out the other. He gives my thigh a small pat, already invested in whatever plan he’s making on his phone, before his eyes dart up to mine with excitement practically dripping out of them. “Baby what did you just do?” I mutter, dragging my hand across my face, knowing that look in his eyes can only mean one thing. The one thing I literally just told him not to do.
“Start packing gorgeous, flight takes off tomorrow night.” He smirks out, standing up to go to his room, ready to pull out his suitcase for the trip he just impulsively paid for. I throw my body back on to the couch, letting out a groan as I bury my face into a pillow, not believing how this boy ignores everything I say. Before I can move and get up to try and stop him, Kate walks into the living room, giving my sprawled out body a curious look, already knowing who made me react this way, before her eyes look at her phone screen that just lit up with a text.
“Considering the group text I just got, looks like we’re going on a trip” Kate laughs, also turning away from me to head to her room to start packing, giving me a small pat on the head before making her departure. I huff out a breath of air, standing up to make my way to Ruel, already knowing he’s got my suitcase pulled out, deciding that I have no choice in this matter.
I walk into the room, watching him sort through his clothes, before he glances at me with a smile, absolutely feeding off of my attitude towards him. Before I can start my rant on how he can use his money for better things, like himself, he pulls me into his arms. I look up at him through my eyelashes, a small frown on my face, watching his eyes run over my lips before meeting mine with a darker look. He leans down and presses his lips against mine, one hand going to the back of my neck, the other resting a little low on my back as he plays with the hem of my shirt. He licks a stripe across my bottom lip, causing me to press my lips together to stop him, only for him to smack my ass a second later. I let out a gasp at the unexpected move, his tongue instantly entering my mouth, both of his hands moving to the backs of my thighs, getting lifted up so that my legs wrap around his waist.
“What’re you doing?” I gasp out, eyes rolling back as his lips find my neck, my hands tangling in his hair at the feeling. I tug on a few strands, feeling his groan radiate across my chest, where his lips are now wandering, leaving light marks along the way. I feel my back get pressed against his wall, his lips detaching from my skin, his now dark eyes meeting mine with a devilish glint in them. I silently stare back at him, my shaky breathing still filling the air, both of us in a lust filled haze.
“Baby this is just the start.. wildest dreams are about to be a reality” he lowly mutters, his words lined with a second meaning, leaving me confused at what he could be hinting at. He leans forward and gives me one last kiss, before setting me down, heading back over to his clothes pile to get it situated, leaving me standing against the wall with shaky legs. I stumble into the closet, looking at all my clothes, before realizing I have no clue what to even pack for, since he never told me where we’re going. “Pack for warmer weather, leave out that pretty little white skirt of yours that you like, you can wear that on the way over” he hums out, not even turning to me as he answers my unasked question.
“Why would I wear a skirt on a plane? That’s like really unpractical” I question, my hands pulling clothes off of hangers, grabbing a few swimsuits along the way, and making my way next to him where my suitcase lays flat on his bed. He gives me a sideways glance, a smirk tugging at his lips when I toss my white skirt on the bed, before he grabs one of my floral wrap shirts and tossing it next to my skirt. “This seems like the literal worst outfit to wear on a plane bub” I mumble, eyeing my sweatpants and hoodie that I folded to bring along with me, knowing they’d be much more comfortable for the flight.
“Trust me. Just wear that and you’ll be fine” he mumbles, concentrating on the hoodie he couldn’t fold right. I roll my eyes and grab the hoodie from him, deciding I might as well just fold it for him since he’d be here all day trying to if I didn’t help him. I pass it back to him, watching as he checks over his suitcase one last time, before zipping it up and setting it against the wall. He walks back over to me and starts going through my clothes pile, looking to see what I’ve decided to bring for the trip, watching the boyish grin on his face as he finds my underwear pile. “Woah lace, who’re you trying to impress sweetheart?” He chuckles, eyes drifting over my body, before smiling at me when I glare at him and grab my underwear out of his hands.
“Foreign boys, definitely not you” I sass back, putting my now folded clothes into my suitcase, ignoring the way he throws himself on to the bed, whining about how I don’t love him. I look over my packed clothes, making sure I have everything I’ll need for the week long stay, before noticing that I completely forgot to pack socks with my undergarments. I walk back into the closet, grabbing a handful of socks before making my way back, only to notice my luggage looks different. “What did you do?” I mutter, trying to figure out what he took from neatly folded things, watching the way innocently looks at me, his hands folded on his lap. The position only someone that’s guilty would do.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” he defends himself, giving me a shocked look that I’d even suggest he did anything. I notice that my outfit for the flight tomorrow has something layed out under it, only to lift it up and find exactly what I should have expected. “Before you say anything, can you blame me?” He rushes out, watching as my eyes widen at the white lace set he had folded under my clothes, giving me a sheepish smile as a blush coats his face.
I roll my eyes and give him a small push, leaving the clothes there, and zipping up my suitcase to place it near his. I mean, it’s just a cute outfit, there couldn’t be more to it than that. Right?
———
Our flight leaves in a few hours, so we clean up the house and anything we had laying out, and Sylvie goes to drop Wilbur off at their friends house for the next week. I’m sweeping the kitchen floor when I hear soft footsteps make their way behind me, before arms wrap around my waist. Ruel rests his head on my shoulder, pressing a light kiss to my neck, swaying us side to side before finally speaking up.
“I can finish this up for you sweetheart, go get dressed since we leave in a few” he tells me, lightly pushing me out of the room, laughing when I skip out of the room more than happy to not sweep anymore. I get into our room, grabbing my outfit off the bed and walking into the bathroom, jittery for the surprise destination we’d be going to soon.
I slip off my clothes, before grabbing the white undergarments he chose, slipping them on before pulling my skirt on, and tying my shirt into place. I give myself a once over, before deciding to tie my hair up into a simple messy bun, knowing that majority of this flight was going to be spent sleeping or passenger watching with Ruel. I look at my makeup bag before settling with a layer of lip gloss and some light blush, just in case I do sleep on the flight and don’t want my makeup getting all over the place.
I walk out of the bathroom and to my suitcase, putting my makeup bag in there, and double checking to make sure I have everything I need for the flight. I go over to Ruels, checking since he always forgets things, before grabbing both and dragging them out to the front door where he’s waiting with both of our carry on bags next to him. He checks his phone, before passing me my backpack, and grabbing both suitcases to take out to the car.
“I put your passport with mine, they’re in the front pocket of my backpack, and your wallet with your ID is in the front of your bag” he tells me, both of us pilling the bags into the back of the car, having almost no room with the other bags stuffed back there. We climb into the back, Ralph and Kate in the front, and Sylvie and Coco in the middle seats. Ruel passes me one of his AirPods as we start the drive to the airport, pulling me to rest against him as the music plays, his fingers aimlessly playing with the hem of my skirt.
I stare out the window as the music plays, my mind wandering to the thoughts of where he could possibly be taking us, and what it will have in store for us, not noticing the way he shifts so that he’s resting against the window, pulling me to rest my back against his chest. His hand is spread out across my thigh, his fingers and palm so big they almost cover the whole top portion of my leg, my mind drifting to the thought of how well he can use them, before I stiffen and blush that I was even thinking of those things while his family is around. He leans down and puts his lips near my ear as he feels my mood change, letting his breath fam over the side of my face before pressing a kiss behind my ear, feeling the smile on his lips against my skin.
“What’s wrong sweetheart? Seems like you’re dripping.. with anxiety, nervous?” He questions, his voice lowering as if he can almost read my mind, knowing whatever I was thinking of had me completely dazed for a second. I let out an annoyed huff and grab his hands, holding them in mine as I rest against him, staring out the window again as I try to ignore the feeling of him pressed against me. I mean this is a family trip, nothing like that should even be on my mind, because this is just a wholesome time away from home to bond and spend time together. He wouldn’t try to do something with his family next to us, he’s smarter than that.
———
We get through security after ages of waiting, then start to make our way to the terminal, my hand gripping Ruels with excitement about what destination he chose. We make it and he sits down on one of the chairs, dropping both of our carryons in the seat next to him, pulling me on to him so that my back was against his chest. As I rest against him, I stare at the terminal sign, waiting for it to switch to the next flights destination, since Ruel still won’t tell me where it is. As I wait for the destination to pop up, I hear Sylvie let out a yawn, already waiting to just go back to sleep since the flight is a late night one, even Coco is dressed in a soft dress, claiming it’s fashionable and sleep worthy. I can tell they all know where we’re going, since none of them are waiting to see, and all of them keep glancing at me with smiles while they wait for my reaction.
“Ruel you didn’t!” I almost screech out, standing up to turn around and face him, my hands covering my mouth in shock. Kate laughs as Ruel stands up and I instantly pull him into a hug, my eyes watering at the fact that he loves me so much to do this for me, having never had someone care about me this much before. “I love you, thank you. I can’t believe you’re taking me to Greece” I mumble out, looking up at him with teary eyes, watching him laugh before he reaches up and wipes my eyes, leaning down to give me a small kiss.
“You’re a star baby, I know what you’re worth, don’t forget that” he whispers in my ear, holding me against him with a smile, relieved that he chose the right place based off my interest in the show yesterday. “You can pay me back later” he lowly mutters, smirking as I pull away with a confused look, since there was no way I could afford to pay back everything this vacation was going to cost.
“Ruel I can’t afford that, otherwise I would have just taken us here in the first place” I tell him, growing more confused as he laughs at me, his hand reaching up to cup my face, the feeling of the two rings he’s wearing against my face causing me to shiver. He ignores me and grabs our bags, hearing our flight get called to board, my eyes widening in complete disbelief as he drags us in line for first class, having never experienced it on an overnight international flight like this. We make it on to the plane, my eyes taking in the first class pods, widening at the bed like seats. Ruel puts our two bags away, gesturing for me to get in the seat and sit down, Kate and Ralph behind us, while Coco and Sylvie are across the aisle from them.
“Put you on to things you thought were impossible huh” Ruel laughs out, watching as I run my hands over the soft chair, amazed with the luxurious treatment he was giving me. I wrap my arms around his neck, squeezing him as tight as I can, hoping he can understand how grateful I am for him and everything he does for me. He holds me against him, running his hand along my back, completely infatuated with me and the hold I have over him without even knowing it. “Feeling tired yet?” He questions, pulling away to look at me, pushing a few strands of hair that fell out of my bun behind my ear. I shake my head no, before my attention gets pulled to the flight attendant, who goes through the typical airplane safety rules.
The plane finally takes off, the flight attendant letting us know that we’ve reached 10,000 ft, so we’re able to recline our seats and take our phones out again. I pull out my phone, taking a quick selfie of Ruel and I, before doing a cute video of him laying back in his seat, giving me his smile that makes my heart stop for a second. I save the video, before putting my phone away, wanting to spend every second of this travel journey with him, and not online. He reaches over and reclines my seat, leaving the both of us laying down next to each other, giving me a mischievous look as the lights go down to a dark blue. He reaches under the seats, grabbing the one of the new blankets they have there for us, passing it to me so that I can get it situated.
I drag the blanket over his body, moving over so that I’m laying next to him, my body completely and utterly relaxed in the silence that’s surrounding us. I feel him adjust his arm next to me, his hand resting on my lower thigh, something he usually does when we’re just hanging out, so it raises no suspicions to me. I let out a gasp, my eyes widening as his hand starts to slip up the front of my skirt, watching him with wide eyes as he fully closes the divider to our airplane pod on the side. “Ruel stop, you can’t do this here” I whisper shout at him, watching the smirk rise on his face through the dark lighting of the plane, most of the other passengers already long asleep by now, the flight attendants situated for the easy night ahead of them.
He ignores my worried state, nudging the hand I used to try and push his away, to continue its way up my leg, finally reaching the waistband of my underwear, smirking at the way my body reacts when he slightly dips his finger under it and drags it across my hip. He leans over me and gives me a light kiss, before trailing kisses along my cheek, down to my jawline. I reach up and grip his shirt, trying to not make any noise as he goes down to my neck, lightly sucking and biting on my sweet spot, before he pulls away with swollen lips. I reach one of my hands up, lightly tracing his bottom lip with my thumb, eyes rolling back as he brings it into his mouth with a smirk, pulling away with a light popping noise.
“Put some faith in me” he mutters, lips attaching to mine in seconds, the worry of being caught disregarded almost instantly. He shifts his body so he’s fully laying back, pulling me on to his lap so I’m flush against him, but still completely out of view for any of the other passengers that might not be asleep yet. “Your fantasy” he quietly groans against my mouth, hinting at the naughty secret I had told him one night, a little more than buzzed that day when I spilled one of my most honest desires and secrets. He looks up at me through hooded eyes, a lazy smirk spread across his lips as he pulls away, nothing but pure desire filling his eyes.
I’m resting above him, forearms flat against his chest to hold me up enough to make eye contact, watching as his eyes start drinking in every part of my body visible. He eyes wander over my bun that’s now falling apart, my glazed over eyes, my shirt thats seconds away from being opened by him, and my barely covered legs that rest on either side of his waist. He runs his hands over my thighs, feeling the way the skirt barely covers me in this postion, knowing this was his plan all along for making me wear this outfit. He wraps his hand around the side of my throat, the cool metal of his rings causing my breath to hitch, before he pulls my face back to his, letting our lips barely brush against each other’s.
He shifts me against his lap, situating me on to one of his legs, causing his thigh to be fully pressed against me. He leans back completely against the lowered seat, resting both hands on my lower hips, and jolting his thigh up to encourage me to move. “Use me baby” he lowly mutters, his voice so deep it sends a shock to the deepest parts of me, my hips stuttering against his leg at the sound of it. He palms the sides of my hips before firmly grasping them, slowly but roughly dragging them down and back up along his leg, completely in a trance as he watches my eyes roll back in pleasure. I slide my hands up his chest and grip his shoulders, using the leverage to grind myself against him, my body jerking whenever the seam of his pants rubs against me. I bite down on his shoulder when he slips one of his hands down between us, my back arching towards him, and my hips slamming down against him. “Does that feel good baby?” He taunts me, grinning as I’m rendered speechless, my breathy gasps against his neck my only reply, unable to form words as I claw at his shoulders.
“Ruel your family is literally right behind us, we need to stop before you get us in trouble” I finally moan out and warn him, my mouth saying one thing, but my body telling me something different as he rolls his hips against mine in a swift motion, his thigh causing another jolt of blissful pleasure. He presses his lips against mine, muffling the sound of my choked groan, feeling his own rise up as I grind back down against him. “This is a bad idea, we’re going to get caught” I whisper against his mouth, moving back to press my face against his neck, feeling him ignore my warning as he grabs my hips and pulls me against him even harder.
“Don’t you think the thrill of getting caught is kinda hot? I know you do.. I can feel it” he grins, lifting my face from against him, watching the way my face instantly heats up at his insinuation. I push myself against him, craving any sort of friction that I can get, grinning as he throws his head back, mouth open in a silent moan. I slowly start to shuffle myself backwards, my hands instantly latching on to his waistband ready to unbutton and unzip them, only for him to grab my wrists and pin them against his lower abdomen. “What’re you doing?” He softly questions, pulling my back up to be level with his face, brushing the fallen strands back.
“I want to make you feel good, you’re doing so much for me, so I want to do something for you” I whine out into his ear, causing him to shake his head and let out a quiet hum of disagreement. He softly pushes me off of him, leaving me spread out on my back, chest heaving with anticipation at his next move. He moves on top of me, one of his hands moving from next to my head, down to the tie of my shirt. I watch him with wide eyes, his fingers slowly teasing me as he tugs at the bow, before pulling it and letting it come undone. He tugs the shirt apart, leaving my chest completely in view, my lace bra being the only thing covering me.
“Baby you could be out a magazine” he practically groans out, lips pressing along my collarbones, before he makes his way down to the top of my chest. I tangle my hands in his hair, feeling him suck at bite at my skin, not caring about the marks that will be visible after this flight. I whimper as his hand comes up, cupping my chest over my bra, lightly squeezing before trailing his hand down my stomach, tugging at the waistband of my skirt before letting it snap back against my skin. “This is about you and only you. Making you feel good, makes me feel good” he mumbles against my chest, pulling one of my legs to wrap around his waist, my skirt completely bunching up around my hips, the only thing keeping me covered being his body resting between my legs.
“Ruel please” I whine out, my voice so quiet only he can hear me, his hips expertly rolling against mine to the point where I’m not sure how much more I can take. My heart races when he slides a hand up to my neck, wrapping his fingers around my throat as he squeezes down, just enough to leave me light headed and absolutely craving more from him. He keeps his grip as he connects our lips, pressing into me as he keeps up his steady pace rolling against me, his tongue sliding against mine as I open my mouth for him. He pulls away, his lips swollen and shiny, and a blush covering his face from the heat surrounding us, his body absolutely warm to the touch as he lays his hand against my leg.
He drags a finger from my inner knee, to my inner thigh, lightly swirling it around as I buck my hips up at the sensitive feeling, a small laugh coming out of him at my eagerness. He moves his hands to the front of my underwear, tracing the pattern of the lace, but making sure to not touch me where I needed him most. My mouth falls open in a silent moan as he slowly grinds himself forward, tilting his hips at an angle where I feel all of him, both of us grasping each other at the feeling being heightened from the high risk situation we’re in. He uses two fingers to wrap around my waistband, lightly tugging on them, until they slowly start to make their way down my thighs, his eyes trained on mine, the intimacy of his touch making me unable to look away. He gets them off of me, settling back between my legs, giving me a teasing grin as he shoves them into his back pocket, my heart racing as I realize I’m exposed in ways I’ve never been in public before.
“Please. I need you.” I gasp out, eyes rolling at the feeling of his pants against me, the rough texture causing my back to arch against him in a desperate plea for more. His eyes light up, finally hearing the words he’s desperately been waiting for, the encouragement to take it to the next level. He softly shuffles me up the seat, before fully settling between my legs, watching as my eyes widen at the position, my legs closing at the proximity of his face to my most intimate region.
He slips his hands between them and spreads them apart, his face now hovering over my lower abdomen, his eyes drifting down and gazing over my exposed body. He lowers his face and I can feel his deep breathing hit my exposed skin, his hands pressing down as he feels me jerk my hips up, unable to hide my lust and need for him. “Only you can make me feel good, please” I whimper out, my flushed face looking down at him, feeling a rush of adrenaline flow through me as he smirks and lowers his face. He reaches up and intertwines one my hand with his, his other hand gripping my leg open so hard, I’m sure a hand print will be visible by the time we’re off of this flight.
He gives me a grin, so sinful that even the devil would blush, before letting go of my leg and raising his hand towards my face. My eyes droop closed as I wrap my lips around his two fingers, swirling my tongue around the digits and lightly sucking, letting him pull them away as a trail of saliva is still connecting them to my lips. He moves his now wet fingers down to where I so desperately need and crave them, before giving me one last look, and uttering words that are followed by a state of nothing but pure and unfiltered bliss.
“Take my hand, to your fantasy” is all I hear before my eyes roll back and his mouth finally connects.
