(new totk rewritten - super rough concept)
so this was a super rough sketch for retrieving the enigma stone of the zora- im currently redoing it since im not happy with this one-
but i have run into a bit of a problem; see the reason why theres monsters causing trouble everywhere is bc ganondorf is trying to keep the stones out of raurus hand(s) thus creating all those bosses to hopefully stop link from reaching them, or at least to slow you down BUT i cant seem to decide whether it makes more sense if the whole reason they are split up among the other regions is because the ancient .. 'sages' wanted to ALSO keep them away from rauru, or if they were instructed by him to do this and await his return (which would be a good reason why they are wearing that sonau helmet still .. if they werent completely in on it i doubt they would do it lol)
(the thought being, would rauru be more likely to not give the stones away at all or he was too afraid that gan could wake up earlier/break free and get his hands on them first- so he sends his trusty servants- sages out to construct big temples and await his return but to stop gan if he were to seek them out first ... also possibly so all the stones arent in one spot, since they, in my rewrite, are the highest concentrated version of spirit energy and would emit an extreme amount of energy likely to attract something... yeha its all based on luminous stoens containting spirit energy and that also powering the shiekah tech .. made a diagram (?) about it once actually, though some parts arent true anymore bc im omitting the whole dragon transform stuff)
Tumblr media
(im also using this concept for the skyward sword comic btw, the mining of the timeshift stones being the reason the lanayru region becomes a desert bc the lands been robbed of life energy meant to go back into the system over time edit: i mean this as in an environment was drastically altered from its natural state in an extremely short amount of time, which is generally a bad thing, not as in desert areas just being dead sand filled wastelands, theres plenty of life there if meant to be like that/given long enough time to adjust or turn into it)
while i want to make rauru a villain i also dont want him to be too overtly evil since ... thats kinda boring and just pushes that role onto someone else, im aiming for more nuance overall (which is also why gan isnt some goody two shoes perfectly fine with hyrule, like yeah .. the calamity was his doing still)- so im leaning more towards the latter- though perhaps the gerudo did so more with the intent to keep it away from rauru
(also, i am including mineru after all.. but only as a mummy like so (sorry) but her stone is gone when you reach it bc its been taken by the yiga- for which you have to tract them down and fight koga (and possibly supah/sooga) )

OKAY OKAY ITS SUPER SELF INDULGENT AND I AM CRINGE BUT I AM FREE!!!!
So imagine Mags in Totk trying to break Demise's curse (bc for the love of god Link and Zelda need a break) by wishing on the triforce but then he gets pulled into some other bullshit bc he altered reality so fundamentally
You know how the triforce shatters after someone who isnt balanced in the three virtues makes a wish?? Yeah that
And theres this other thing too.
Darkness will never rest, Demise's hatred probably really never ends. His spite held two poor souls to an endless reincarnation cycle but at least the land continues to survive each apocalyptic revival of that hatred.
There was *always* someone fated/powerful enough to stop it. A failsafe (albeit a cruel one). Its written in the very foundations of Hyrule.
With the two souls finally set free, whod be strong enough to stand up against that darkness anymore?
The interloper has to seek the two other pieces to fix this issue. But will he really reinstate the curse that so tormented his friends for eons?
Not to mention, hes an unfamiliar figure seeking the two other parts of the relic while holding the piece of power. To say that people are suspicuous of him is an understatement.

Who are your OCs?
KSJAJDJAJKAAA I CAN TALK ABOUT THEM THANKS!!!!!!
My main fellas come all em with a LOT of world building, but I'll try to synthetaze it as much as I can! Tldr: they all come from different dimensions with different vibes and biology (one of em is like a medieval fantasy land, one is like a scify robot land, etc etc) and there is some sort of past war-hostility between all em.
First I'll talk bout Mawla. She is the oldest one I've created, but also the one with the best defined personality for now. Basically she was originally an orphan taken by the government to experiment in, as a way to research protesis and quick DNA alteration to use for medical purposes in the upcoming war. Once they where done with her she got cryogenizised for further study and learning material by medical students. But after several years (once war was rather settled) she somehow escaped. All those process had a toll on both her body and mind of course, so she became rather cold and mostly non-verbal as a result to all that. The only thing that kinda helped her heal was meeting who she calls her brother, Ray.
Which speaking of, he was originally an experimental medic AI applied to a soldier robot to heal and rescue individuals the government considerated of interest, but he became revelious because like, war and such. So he ran out, not without his body getting hurt. Fortunately he is a robot so he can just like, rebuild himself with scrap parts and such. He just wandered around without too much purpose for several decades until he found Mawla and they both helped eachother.
Then on the completely oposite side of the multuverse there's Fritz, who is some sort of totem-elemental golem creature-thing. Basically his species is called elementals, which are born when a soul is forced to reincarnate into a body and then imbued with some sort of natural element a la pokemon style. He was originally created to be used as a beast-weapon for the war, but was then rescued by his adoptive father, who was a blacksmith mage. He was eventually killed under mysterious circunstance and thus Fritz had to to escape since the government considered his species too dangerous to be let free (as wizards would usually create them and threat them as beast to be tamed and kept under their control rather than actual individuals) he went around for a while until he met Kass
And finally about her. Kass is part of a colony settled in what is like a middle space between the 3 main dy mentions. It's like a dead space between em 3 that isnt reclaimed by any of them, so several opositors from all of them settled there and eventually became a wasted land. She was part of a small village that got burned down by bandits. She went out living from what she could get and kinda becoming a bountyhunter until she met Fritz, they became professional partners and then met Mawla and Ray, who joined them.
I really don't know what most of this is but this is my most planned out and complex story I've made so I keep it around and I'll eventually make something outta it because like, hell, look at all of what I already have written, plus all of the world building not included, several support character and strangled family members from each all of em and several parallels that I wanna pan out more. Like the fact that they all where created rather as tools to be used and discarted rather than as people with emotions and feelings and the such. Several relationships, plot twist, that kinda thing. So even if yeah a medieval story with dragons that also is an alien scify and a furry contemporary story and a cyberpunk-wasteland survival of the strongest a la fall out sounds farfetched, it's my story so I'll tell it some day.
Also both Fritz and Ray have that "acts ad thinks like a kid but it's actually a 5000 year old dragon" except they both are young adults. That's basically a plot device for me to have both characters that knew their world before the war, characters that lived said war and characters that lived the consecuencies of the war. But putting 3 whole characters in the freezer was kinda convenient so instead I did this. May change it so they did have like a time skip (like making ray get turn off for certain time? Idk) but I'll have to think of it.
Also making them both long-lived allows me to make them survive their loved ones for centuries for extra angst nyehehehehe >¦}
Thanks for giving me a space to yap bout em! Ik this is my blog but sometimes the current hyperfix takes me by the throat and I need external input for me to come back to my kiddos :)

So I have some THOUGHTS about episode 9 now that I finally was able to watch it, so I’m gonna ramble on about them below the readmore
- The brief flashback to Knives and Vash playing the piano together was interesting, not only in that it means both of them are fairly talented on the instrument, but also because it means the song that Knives has been playing in the times we’ve seen him has been only one-half of the full thing perhaps? I’m sure there’s something quite symbolic about it and how it pertains to the brothers being so interconnected, so I wonder how that might show up later 🤔
- Though I would have preferred to get some more depth to Knives via the scenes with Tesla (since that both showcases the stark difference between their viewpoints and establishes a really good reason for Knives to fear/hate humans so much) I did like that we got to see a direct act that shows the audience just how little the common population thinks of plants as anything more than tools
- “We’ve hit the production limit. They put too great a load on the plants, it cut them off from the higher dimension. They can’t maintain their bodies.” <- I have no clue what the hell that’s supposed to mean but, as the person becoming known in this fandom as the feral plant headcanon-er, I am VERY interested to see if they’ll ever elaborate on that since the manga/first anime never did. *shakes the Stampede series* LET ME KNOW THE SECRETS OF THE INTER-DIMENSIONAL ALIENS
- The Last Run’ scene in general was fairly disturbing, but I know that was the point in order to hit home how Knives so far has interacted with humans (the mental pain had to be horrible, given how bad the distress of a single plant had affected Vash)—but who was the man he was with? Was that supposed to be Conrad? Has Knives already started up his cult?
- Even though Knives totally murdered some dudes, he sure did look cool while doing it
- “Outside of human control, plants use up all their energy in one burst and die.” / “So you bought into that nonsense… No matter how comfortable, chains are still chains.” 🫣
- WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON WITH VASH’S ARM
- “Is that… a gate?” WILL SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT AT SOME POINT THANK YOU
- I find it interesting how Vash losing his arm was not from the direct influence of Knives—either his Angel Arm doesn’t exist, or its a wildly different kind of power. Either way, Knives having to make a split-second decision to remove his brother’s arm in order to keep that ‘gate’ (looks like a black hole to me tbh) from swallowing up everything is a really neat twist on intention.
- I saw a post recently joking about Knives being utterly obsessed with his brother and I thought it was hyperbole. I SEE THAT IT IN FACT ISNT. Knives you are a lonely fucker I swear to god.
- Last episode I was so confused on the timeline and was worried that they had shortened the time between the flashbacks to the present day—and I’m super happy to be wrong! Putting Luida and Bradley in cryosleep in order to prolonged their lives was a very creative way to keep those characters interacting with Vash.
- Meryl being SO surprised and impressed by flowers really hit home that they straight up DON’T exist on Noman’s Land…. which, jesus, that was a surprise. I assumed at best sickly little potted plants might have existed, but none? Very interesting…
- Roberto being pessimistic is really hitting home that I know he’s going to die soon and will likely be replaced with Milly in the following seasons. I really enjoy the way his character pairs with Meryl’s energy and positive realism 😭
- Ngl Zazie the Beast is lightly growing on me, mostly as a neat antagonist since they represent the native species on Noman’s Land before anyone else arrived. Wonder if their alliance will alter at any point…
- “Outside of human control, plants use up all their energy in one burst and die.” / “So you bought into that nonsense… No matter how comfortable, chains are still chains.” 🫣
- Totally thought Luida was going to die either by Vash (accidentally) or Knives (purposefully).

🔥 wc worldbuilding?
oof ... VERY tough one...
I'm going to escape canon for a second and say my most unpopular worldbuilding take is that I find it EXCRUCIATINGLY uninteresting when people completely alter the fundamentals of how clan society works (in terms of aus mostly).
I think the clans are fine for what they are. They arent perfect but thats the point, you quiet literally would not have a story, no real conflict, no real complexity or nuance otherwise. "its soo unfair that the code causes this!" "its sooo messed up that the clans do this!!" like okay ... yeah ... and who cares. shit is messed up sometimes thats just how it is. it isnt 'bad' just because you want it to be a perfect rainbow sparkles fantasy land without any Wrong whatsoever and it turns out it Isnt (and very Wrong things happen all the time).
Too many times I see that, when people try to change Warrior Cat Society(tm) they try too hard to mold it around human society. Like they are not humans. They dont do human things, they dont live human experiences, they don't have the same history we do. Literally the only similarity is the ability to talk and hold human-reminiscent relationships. So, no -- dismantling the system and rebuilding it into something entirely reflective of your personal irl morals does not make it more 'interesting' to me, it actually makes it kind of lame, if I wanted something that sensitized I would watch baby juice cocomelon cartoon
I also find it kind of lame when people do this very specific thing - its very oddly specific, but its always something along the lines of, "warriors / med cats / etc dont exist anymore, now everybody has the same role and they get to do whatever they want!!! yay!!!" like all you have done is reduce the clan to a bunch of stray cats without any structure whatsoever. You have eliminated 50% of every conflict ever in Warriors
Now, in terms of canon, I think the over-reliance of magic + fantasy is super annoying and bland to me now. How am I supposed to take Starclan seriously when at this point literal background characters can summon demons or whatever

so, like, this isnt a misunderstanding thing or a morally grey anti-hero bit. they quite literally have murdered and abducted The Entirety Of The Country. she is one of the last remaining humans alive that havent been turned into one of the soldiers for their ever-growing monster army. it isnt "ungrateful" to be afraid of them when they have been clearly shown to 1) have mind-altering effects from the transformation process, 2) be unrepentant about their destruction and enslavement of the land and its people, 3) have unwavering loyalty to the man/creature who commanded them to do it, and 4) Killed Her Dad, Actively, With Murder
like the king of the dread threw her off a roof to try and kill her, and now has her balanced in a precarious position where he wants her dead still but has decided to hold off on it, so she has no idea when her imprisonment will turn to a death sentence, or why she's become the favorite pet of the king who Killed Her Dad And Conquered Literally Her Whole Country. they've had three interactions up to this point, maybe four, with no implications of interactions unseen by the readers. this is just illogical
she should still hate him. he's shown no cracks in his facade, he's shown no signs of change or implied the internal problems of his curse(the way it clearly effects his mind when we're in his POV, for example).
you can only kill someone once. that they havent done that to her yet when evidence shows only one of them to be even marginally capable of kindness or change doesnt make it unreasonable that she's afraid of them or angry at them or "ungrateful" of their "gifts"
they did too much to establish them as Bad and Logically Something To Fear, without doing anythig to show that intial reading as wrong or misplaced, and the dread she meets in passing show no signs of being changable or savable or kind or gracious. the deck is too stacked for any of this to WORK

i read a fic where cameron is just the slightest-majorist nervous about mike's personalities. which i subscribe to. i mean, this kid CANONICALLY gets weighed down by a butterfly landing on his nose. (that last point is definitely irrelevant but you see my point) im pretty sure most spheres have cameron be 100% ok with it and i love that! but i think its probably clearer in canon that he very much isnt, definitely moreso after his experiences with mal (fuck the reset button) -- anyways if mike had made peace with his alters cameron would have NOT lasted as one of mike's friends. im sorry, its the truth and i think the trio between them is a more zoeys-friends thing anyways. cameron gives up secrets too easily for a guy like mike, who is a russian doll of secrets. (this is NOT anti-cameron to be clear)

some thoughts before the next boruto chapter comes out so i remember what to keep an eye on
sasuke's status: hes not with boruto, though boruto has his sword and cloak. so is he alive and just stayed behind or is he dead or a secret third thing? it is said that code and boruto fought two years prior to boruto's return to konoha (so a year after he fled) but boruto was helpless during the fight, so it would make sense that sasuke would have been the one to actually fight code. did code kill sasuke? (would make sense since even with his 6 tomae rinnegan he got stomped on by ishiki and code is stronger than ishiki). on that note, sasuke might have been the one to blind code in one eye
sarada's ms: we haven't seen what her ms can do yet (my money is on some form of powerful genjutsu on the same level as tsukuyomi or kotoamatsukami that could probably counter omnipotence but an attack type ms would be cool too) but the biggest issue for sarada is that one way or another she is going to go blind in at least one eye, since sasuke (if he is even still alive) would only be able to give her one eye
claw grime with the rinnegan: why was a claw grime sporting a rinnegan?? the only rinnegan left in existence was sasuke's, before momoshiki stabbed him in the eye?? so how the hell did that happen. also it could talk? im betting kawaki didn't actually kill it and that it will be making another appearance so i'm sure that will be explained. i've seen some people theorize that it might actually be sasuke or maybe a regular claw grime fused with sasuke's dna but would that be enough to produce a rinnegan? its a stretch imho. tho it might just be sasuke, which would explain why he isn't with boruto, but then why would boruto be trying to give code a way out?
himawari: right before the time skip daemon saw something special in her and, considering she's training bc she wants to help boruto despite her own memories being altered, im sure she'll play a big role (not like huge, cause its kishimoto we're talking about but..you know) plus she has the byakugan and she's hopefully been training in gentle fist (which would be one of the few things that could actually take down kawaki since its taijutsu). ALSO! she might awaken the tenseigan (bc what was the point of the last if that dojutsu was never gonna be talked about again??) cause lets be real the only way to be relevant here is if you have a dojutsu or something like sage mode or karma (the latter often granting you a dojutsu anyway)
shikamaru: was he the best choice for hokage? probably not, i still think sakura or kakashi should have worn the hat or, hell, maybe even tsunade, but this is a new world and there's new technologies. he might be able to compensate for his physical weakness with scientific ninja tools
kakashi, yamato and sakura: where are they? sakura has made very few appearances in part 1 and has never been heard of again. kakashi has not made a single manga appearance since the land of hot springs. yamato is, im assuming, still watching orochimaru but why wasn't the mokuton user called back to konoha when the otsutsuki reappeared?? especially with the threat of the ten tails? i know moegi also has mokuton (even tho it was never explained how she acquired it, as i doubt she has creation of all things lmao) but isnt two better than one?
mitsuki: obviously all of mitsuki's feelings for boruto have transferred onto kawaki bc of omnipotence, but you can tell something is off. even after three years since eida used omnipotence (meaning the new memories should have cemented in everyone's brains) mitsuki is starting to doubt that kawaki is his sun. i predict hes going to try and kill boruto only to realize he is his sun and somehow snap out of eida's ability. or at least hes going to follow boruto regardless of what his memories tell him, sorta like sasuke

alright my current brainrot is apparently pokemon scarvio so
ill be discussing various leaks past the read more line, so this is your chance to scroll on by! its my prediction for the DLC(s) for sv!
Alright, so before we get into the leaks lets just make it clear - we know the whole mystery of the disk pokemon. we know heath talked to it, we know the paradox of the past/future pokemon appearing in heaths time, before the time machine was made. for most of this, ill be talking about violet/turo/future mons, for convenience. we know that the third legendary or mythical or something *spoke* to heath, in some way, and made him scribble things in his book. i believe those are instructions for making "the time machine" but he couldnt quite figure it out. some have pointed out discrepancies in the sketches and photos of paradox donphans, and i actually think that might be significant. maybe heath, in his curiosity for the unknown, and creative imagination... thought he saw something unlike anything he had ever seen before... but was it just his imagination? perhaps. maybe it was actually there already, formed from his desires, or maybe it was just a normal donphan that they got a bad picture of. either way, this sparked his curiosity about... what mysterious creatures lie in this dangerous crater. surely something of a treasure (finding your treasure IS a big theme in sv, and we know that researchers went there to find a treasure) perhaps this third legendary relies on your desires, of what you WANT to see... and makes them real. i really do believe it! i mean, with unova being the next in the remake lineup assumedly, is a dream world that crazy of an idea? so then we have the young turo, with his childlike wonder... loving the violet book so much, and imagining what pokemon from the future could be like. imagining such exaggerated features - though the exaggerated features are more noteworthy in the ancient paradox forms (billion year old jigglypuff with fangs? really?) but back to the experience heath had, oftentimes, things that can enter your freaking dreams tend to be all about granting wishes of impossible stuff becoming real, but for a price. i think this legendary has lost its power in some way, and needed the machine that it simply referred to as a time machine to turo... to make his dreams reality. it must be in control of the terastal phenomenon too, no doubt - which is a reality-altering effect. it darkens everything around the pokemon, gives it a hat with a weird little face around the bottom of it... and... agh, this is incomprehensible isnt it? my writing is SO unorganized i need to work on that listen, im gonna leap forward a bit -its a desire based legendary, it brings what you want to be real to the world, but needs human intervention to truly harness its power. theres some great videos ill link at the bottom of the post going further into some speculation on the third legendary - i also think tyranitartube has some alright videos on the whole mystery of it but i said id be talking about the DLCs well, a certain fake leak inspired me. "The Magenta Mirage DLC" It's confirmed fake, but like- scarlet and violet are the ends of the light spectrum, and magenta is unique for not being on the light spectrum. its a color that our minds "make up" if you will. an imaginary color but what about riddler khus golden/amber heart? didnt he say the dlcs "color" would be yellow? well, theres 2 datamined item sprites with no names or code attached to them in SV. one is a golden, spiky rock of sorts, and the other is a strange runic stone with a *magenta* swirl. could this be the armorite and dynite ore of this generation? we have a golden land DLC first, sparking more mysteries about terastallization, and then we have the magenta dlc that gives us closure with the mythical tera-type master pokemon? perhaps ALSO THE PARADISE PROTECTION PROTOCOL IS TOTALLY THE MYTHICAL POKEMON FIGHTING US THROUGH AI TURO I MEAN COME ON ITS LITERALLY JGHTRJUHFJUHJ ITS . IT TERASTALLIZES. oh right, i didnt even mention that people datamined that signature moves for paradox suicune/virizion exist. pokemon that... were sketched as hypotheticals. existing well then
now time for photo/link dump The Truth Behind the Disk Pokemon
The cut item sprites
an interesting video by tyranitartube, covers some fun speculation honestly tldr its all about your wildest dreams... your treasure.. becoming real

I AM SO SORRY FOR RBING AND NOT SENDING SOMETHING FML anyways 🔥 🌸 🌷 for the jumbo ask game!!!
HELLO HI this is an old ask but ITS OKIEEEEEEE sorry i just got to this im on my puter :3 here is the ask game. i will use eva just because he's the one most living in my mind rn. under da cut
🔥 Give us a list of general likes and dislikes, such as colours, textures, music, weather and other stuff!
ooooo. ok well at first eva's like "i cant like blue that's too obvious my hair is blue my favorite abno is blue i am blue" but he likes blue. he likes blue. he also likes shades along the white and black spectrum they look nice. pleasing 2 the eyes. he likes cloudy cool weather bc it isnt too bright and glaring like the sun and it isnt rainy pouring bothersome mess. he was raised by rich minimalists so a lot of his likes and comforts revolve around classical music, minimalism, things being neat. he hates it when things r messy and disorganized but unfortunately he ends up living with someone who can be messy and disorganized and eventually he is also messy and disorganized because he is a tired professor with so many fucking paperworks
he likes very smootg textures like silk and polished marble. hates gooey sticky textures or rough textures that feel all jumbled like tv static. velvet is fine
🌸 What does your OC’s voice sound like? Their laugh? Are they good at singing? Do they have an accent?
OURGH eva's voice is low, but not bass low he's a baritone. it's lower than julian's and lower than like buggy/skuggy's but still has the ability to go high. it's very. controlled and regulated in terms of volume and pitch and it can sound bored or blunt and impatient to others when just speaking normally but that's just how he speaks. he is a good singer because his parents wanted him 2 be good in both the arts and the core subjects because that way he'll be respected in richpeople land. if i weren't a coward he'd have a (not super heavy) german accent bc his family was german but alas. his laugh is mostly just like an exhale chuckle. he chuckles. but when he laughs unrestrained it starts out loud and tapers out to just giggles
🌷 In what ways would your OC alter their body if they could? How would they do it using mundane means (hair dye, surgery, make-up?). What is their ideal look for themself?
ideal look is a generic skinny tall white guy with short black hair and nondistrinct features in suit and tie with always a serious unchanging expression. ideal look is also a strikingly gorgeous man with long hair and bright eyes full of life with zero stains of capitalism or trauma to be seen within them and smooth skin and a good back. ideal look is also a macintosh computer. ideal look is a mirror reflection of himself scribbled out and ripped to shreds. his sense of self is nonexistent and inconsistent and he doesn't want anything to do with it
if he had the ability and unlimited access to totally free, risk-free, reversible body modification he would be swapping out his look every hour. this is why he distorts into a giant messy jumble of wires that never stays in one shape or color or form
without that fantastical ability i mean he probably just wants to get a nice haircut and a spa treatment and hide under a bedsheet forever

So much this
I love those silly little books with the silly little jokes and then they get way to deep about friendship and companionship
And nearly everyone is kind of charming in a way or the other regardless of good or evil
And all charackters are interesting and compelling
Not good in a morale sense but good in a way that they keep me entertained and I love reading it again ( yes also season 2)
Also speakin of season 2
A lot of people seem to hate how valkyrie was portrayed
Was she difrent than season 1 valkyrie ?
Yes
Where there good reasons for it like brain altering trauma? Also yes
I would argue that the portraial of grief and loss and copeing with that
And copeing with what she had to do and the Depression and anxiety folowing that and how she eventually got through it is one of the best portraials I have ever read
Like as a depressed person with trauma
I feelt so represented by season 2 valkyrie
Was it painfull to read ? Yes
It did make me sad
But ( spoiler alert )
The last two books of season 2 ( after what I would call behavioral and talking therapie in zobie land) she was bright like in season 1 again
The jokes where the same level and some bickering scenes between her and skulduggery could have been from book one ( thats how top tier those scenes where)
So like yes she is difrent than season 1 because she went through hell
Just as skulduggery isnt the same he was before he died ( I asume)
Thats what trauma does to peoole
Also everyone is gay like literally everyone and I love it and there is only one (1) scene in 18 books where homophobic behavior is shown
And like as queer people we deserve a coming of age Story where homophobic behavior esentially does not exist ( it was not main charackters and not magic users who acted that way)
I find that great like such a plus
I adore that everyone has good and bad sides
I love that women that derek writed are alowed to be anything
They are alowed to be evil assholes and somehow derek manages to make me love them regardless? Because of it
Also like not one scene of breast description I can remember
Like take notes
Have I talked about how funny the books are
Its like Sitting in the sun on a cold day
Even when I am sad I manage a lough when reading
I love that men are alowed to show emotion in the books
And hug theire friends
And talk about mental ilness
And I love
No I needed the end of season 2
Deus ex machina ? Yes maybe
But maybe we needed a somewhat happy end in a realy shitty year
I have a lot of happy thoughts about this books
I have critisisms too but they where not asked here
Thank you for reading
Almost every time I see a skulduggery pleasant post on here it's negative, talking about plot holes or whatever -- I just wish some other people actually liked the books for what they are as opposed to wanting them to be something else! Sure there are random plot twists sometimes and anticlimactic solutions and way too much going on, but the dialogue is always funny and the jokes are good and skulduggery is incredibly likeable :) reading it always puts a smile on my face and that's worth something :D

Fuck, I need to remember to bring the Wanderer's Journal back with me for a reread during the break, bc all I remember from it atm was the detail that the 'statues' in the Forgotten Crossroads are perhaps fossilized bugs, that the Pale King was a civil engineer whose architecture was specifically designed to work with the nature of Hallownest (at least in the Queen's Station), and that the beetle tribe in the City of Tears was racist towards the Mantis Tribe, considering them savage for using bone and sinew as building materials despite the Mantises having advanced mechanisms and entering a treaty with PK, which stuck with me specifically bc it indicates that the tribes in Hallownest are indeed extremely segregated via ancient cultural differences rather than anything tied to the gods. Which makes sense considering the fact that they're all segregated by species and have different needs/lifecycles as well as clear indicators of distinct tribes dwelling within the caverns for millenia pre-Radi and PK, but also godDAMN do I need more information on that bc its really, really fascinating

Avoiding Anglocentric Bias with a Universal Translator, Writing a Magic School on Indigenous Land
@king-ofconfusion asked:
So im writing a fantasy story that mostly takes place on an island between canada and russia. The magical community is hidden from everyone else and their main land/school is on this island, and even tho there are smaller places all over the world this is the main place. Theres some sort of translation spell so everyone understands eachother but i dont want it to seem like american washed or smth? race isnt a problem plot wise but i also dont want it to be so background that it seems all white?
I’ll focus on the part about the translator, as when you say “American washed” I assume you mean the Anglocentric (English-centric) bias that could arise with the concept of a universal translator. Mod Lesya will talk about your...choice of location for this school.
As a bilingual & linguist who thinks in a quasi-combination of languages, I think I’d like to see an idea of a spell that translates to that individual’s unique linguistic interface; if your story has multiple closed POVs, you can show hints of that by having different POV characters hear dialogue differently—maybe language-unique lexemes (vocabulary) are being borrowed! Maybe there’s code-switching! If your story has a more omniscient POV then you might have a part that explains how the spell works, or show through ambiguities in dialogue that shows that characters are hearing dialogue differently depending on what languages they understand.
As an example, think of how a character who speaks German, an agglutinative language, might create new vocabulary by stringing together morphemes, and a character who doesn’t speak an agglutinative language would hear that via the spell as a literal-translation-of-words-strung-together.
Think of semantic differences/ambiguities that the spell might not (or might! Up to you!) catch—I give an example on the differences between answering negative yes-no questions in English vs. Japanese here.
You might even get cases of characters who speak languages that may name borrowings with prototypical labels (English does this, but other languages like Spanish do too). An example is referring to masala chai as “chai tea.” What happens if a Hindi or Urdu speaker hears this? The translator may either literally translate and return “tea tea,” or it might apply context and return “masala chai.” Here’s some more food for thought on borrowings & prototypes!
Assuming you’re writing this story in English, there will unavoidably be some bias towards English as the basis for your translations. But hopefully this approach gives some ideas for challenging English-as-default by representing forms and meanings that don’t exist in English, and not assuming English is necessarily the prototype for these translations.
~Mod Rina
Here’s the elephant in the room Rina tapped me to answer: you’ve chosen Indigenous land for a magic school, without acknowledging any Indigenous peoples in your worldbuilding or ask.
The arctic is not uninhabited. That stretch of land between Russia and Alaska (Canada does not go that far West) is the region of Yupik peoples, both on the Russia and Alaska sides (it’s the only language family that is found in both the old and new world), and the Iñupiat peoples, just on the Alaska side (as far as I’m aware).
If you do mean Canada, then you’re getting onto the polar ice cap… and this is also not completely uninhabited. This territory would belong more to Inuit peoples.
In short: you’re at a pretty large risk of having this school be on Indigenous lands, and whether or not it’s a colonial outpost or simply a safe haven depends on how they go about it.
It is possible that there is a genuine, respectful relationship between the Indigenous peoples and the school. The school would have to surrender its land ownership to the people local to the region, respect hunting grounds, not muck with the ecology of the place, and help the people of the region. They would, essentially, acclimate into Arctic life, creating a cultural hybrid between their old customs and what is required to be in the Arctic.
But if you start to have this school try to recreate European ideals, foods, and have them insist their way of life is the only way that can exist, then your magic users have become colonizers. It’s, unfortunately, that simple.
The thing about this island is: Indigenous peoples would’ve known about it, probably before these magic users did.
Arctic peoples also crossed between Russia and Alaska “late” (after the land bridge sank), and very well could have found this island in the time they travelled by water between the two countries. Late is relative, because it was still at least ten thousand years ago.
That land could very well have been inhabited before the magic users got there, which means they would have had to be extremely respectful to not colonize that land. As I said above, it’s possible to be respectful, but requires the magic school default to Indigenous voices when it comes to how to live there.
If it’s uninhabited, then it’s likely known about. These magic users probably don’t have enough magic to completely alter the wave patterns of the ocean, which an ocean-navigating Indigenous people would absolutely know how to use in order to find land (this is one of the ways many peoples navigate at sea).
The other option is the school is actually Yupik or other Arctic peoples founded and uses their belief structure, which would require an intense amount of working with the peoples in question to inform your worldbuilding.
To be clear: you still need to account for Indigenous peoples and research/talk to members of the peoples I listed above. It’s just going to be less work if you stick with a European magic system and have them be visitors working heavily with Arctic peoples, instead of having the magic system be based in Arctic peoples’ customs.
I’m not from the Arctic. The Arctic has a unique colonization history that I’m not very well educated upon, beyond the fact it’s unique, recent, and suddenly devastating. I cannot advise you on this any more than saying you are on Indigenous lands. I would strongly suggest you look at all of the other “remote, uninhabited” compounds you’ve created to see what Indigenous peoples live in those regions, as well.
The idea that the earth is mostly barren and unused and lacks meaningful human presence is a colonialist myth that is used to perpetuate the concept (white) Europeans can move in without consequence. Many harsh climates have Indigenous peoples living there, and any magical communities need to do similar practices to the ones I outlined above.
Make sure they’re not taking land, and make sure they learn how to respect it the way the local peoples do: sustainably. That’s the bare minimum.

Patient Is The Night
Chapter 1
pairing: Jake Kiszka x Danny Wagner
Rating: none (there may be some inappropriate themes later on but im not counting on it)
Warnings: none
Summary: Josh gets married and is about to move out, Jake is attempting to emotionally prepare himself
Notes: the fic is named after Patient Is The Night by The Blasting Company. I just thought it sounded cute and romantic, its bot really tied to the plot much. Also theres no actual romance or anything in this chapter, its mostly just kicking off the actual story
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Jake is standing anxiously at the alter. He stands to the side next to Sam and Danny. Danny is sobbing his eyes out of course and rge ceremony hasnt even started. Jake is to... cluttered... to cry. He sees Ronnie sitting in the front row. He makes eye contact with her briefly which is more then enough for her to understanding how much his brain is racing. When Josh and his soon to be spouse start walking down the isle, Jake feels like he should be crying but isnt.
He feels that heavy soreness in his throat that he always does while/before crying. He feels guilty for not crying. Josh looks amazing and so so happy. Jake has no idea how he feels. Change has never come easy to him and he knew this would change a lot. His mind was very stuck on what wouldnt be the same anymore. Like Josh no longer living with him, the house being loud and slightly cluttered, being able to go into his room at 3:00 am to cry and talk to him about whatever it was he needed too.
The thought made him so anxious. It almost made him want to cry more then the scene playing out in front of him. He was so lost in his own head that the ceremony was over before he even realized. When he came too, Josh and his spouse where already heading out to take pictures before the after party. Sam was rubbing Danny's back consolingly who, of course, was still sobbing his eyes out. When people started making their way to the other building, Ronnie stopped Jake and held him behind everyone.
"Are you okay?" She whispers. He whimpers slightly and lands his head in her shoulder. Then, he cries. He didnt want to start crying before cause even thought most else wouldn't know, he would know it wasnt genuine. Well, maybe not that it wasnt genuine, but that he wasnt crying for the reasons everyone else was. He hated that. He was so mad at himself for not crying in joy fir his brother. He deserved that. Ronnie didnt judge him though. She rubbed his back gently and held him tight. She wanted to say something consoling to him to make him feel better and less alone but the truth was, she didnt know how he felt.
Jake had always been with Josh. When they moved into their first apartment together was the first time they even had seperate rooms. They hardly went to the store without each other simply cause it was easier to go together. Jake felt safe and secure with Josh cause he knew hed always be there and listen to him whenever he needed it but thats not true anymore and that sense of saftey is gone.
Jake knew he could always call josh or come over but it was nowhere near the same. He missed Josh already. Ronnie and Jake where now alone in the chapel. Eventually Jake's cries get quiter. "I know its hard, but for now how about you just try to have a good time at the party. Im sure Josh is missing you already" Ronnie says softly. Jake nods and wipes away his tears.
The two make their way out of the chapel and head to the party. Jake was doing his best to make sure Josh wouldn't know he was crying, but it wasnt any use. His nose and cheeks where pink and his eyelashes where wet. And hell, even if he didnt look like he had just cried, Josh would know anyways. He always does. Thats another thing Jake will miss having all the time. Josh just knowing when Jake needs help by just looking at him. Ronnie and Jake make their way into the building. The music is fairly loud and people are getting food. He heads off to find Danny and Sam. He and them have a seat at the special people table cause they where groomsmen.
He gets some food and sits next to Dan. Crying makes him hungry. He and Josh had already talked about Jake giving a speech. Josh said that of course he was okay with Jake not wanting to. Despite him being okay on stage, Jake was never great with people and felt much more anxious around his family then strangers. He was extremely grateful for that agreement cause now hes bot sure how much talking he'll be doing for the rest of the day. Everyone else is talking and coming up to the table to congratulate the new couple. Danny has stopped crying and Jake doesn't know if Sam was ever crying to begin with.
When Josh and his partner go to have their first dance, Jake feels overwhelmed. Not just by that but by everything else. The music, the people talking and singing along, the lights amd the rattling of dishes and silverware, all of it out together was to much. Without fully thinking it through, Jake gets up and walks out to his car and heads home. He just needed quiet, and maybe tonight being alone is better anyways.

I always have this like. One song that i listen to on one of my playlists, that without fail i imagine this animation/animatic idea with the sides in a winged au, doing some kind of tag-team olympic-like race of some sort, where it involves a ton of dofferent kinds of obstacles that need to be maneuvered around with expert skill, speed, and grace(each being separately counted with their own points catagory to add together for each team's final score) and like
(Ive also had this animatic idea since before janus and remus were revealed so they werent originally imagined as part of this idea but I can make it work just fine)
It starts off pretty simple with Patton leading the take off of the race, as his area of specialty is flying with grace(hes pretty clumsy otherwise, outside of flying, for contrast) and so it starts off with pretty visual manuveres that involve a seriously practiced skill to pull off, both while flying at a quick speed, and while flying around other contestants, but its the shortest part of the race because his not high on stamina to begin with
Then he taps Romans shoulder as he lands and then Roman takes off to the second portion of the race, quick reaction time, agility, and strong manuverability. There are lots more obstacles to avoid or pass through in this catagory, and Roman has large wings so many expect him to struggle with manuverability, but of course he nails it, able to dip low to pass through a small hoop without brushing against it and then lauch high to crest over a bar and then dip low, all at a high speed. Logan is already running for take off as Roman is slowing to land when they high five the trade off
Logan's wings are small and agile, and his area of skill involves quick thinking, agility, and problem solving skills. Some obstacles have false leads that could lose one time as they have to turn back from dead ends or go through even more complicated parts of the course, some are angled weirdly and require an altered version of a vommon manuver to pass through, so on and so forth, and at this point their team is gaining a bit of a lead when he passes the touch to Janus.
Janus's wings are partially damaged, and thought he can still fly just fine, hes more skilled with graceful moves like patton, but the twist is that these moves and maneuveres have to make it through certain obstacles, like hoops and weaving back and forth between a line of metal poles to count for points. He manages it alright but some other winged player, a bad sport, just barely whips past and against the tip his bad wing and disbalances him a bit, loosing their team precious seconds as he has to struggle to right himself to tag Remus in on time
Remus has to focus not to go after the bad sport and instead puts all his effort into the next course, which infact is the one course of the race where flying isnt the main goal, its allowed, but flying 100% of it makes the whole course more difficult. Its infact more of a parcore course, with passing targets to hit and checkpoint flags to grab as you pass, wall climbing up tight walls that are too narrow to fly up and dropping down slopes and weaving between pillars and corners that are too tight to safely pull ones wings out. This, Remus dominates at. Once hes finally out of the course, he tags Virgil, and now their team is on the final stretch of the race.
(This is also where the music of the song starts the crescendo before the pause before beat drops)
Virgil, who is the newest and smallest of the team, is nervous, and hasn't had long to prove to their team that he's good. This is his first year truly participating in an event like this too so his teammates are all gathering at the finish line, waiting in anticipation. Virgil has never boasted about his talents, and struggles to practice with them because his expertise is speed, agility and stamina, and the practice required for that is much more solo. So the team doesnt really know what to expect from him because this last part of the course is the most difficult for anyone with wings in general, even those who train for years because this final course makes it easy to lose speed and stamina fast, and its very common for contestants wings to give out or cramp up mid flight from the strain of keeping a steady altitude, making it a very dangerous drop into the stretch of ocean below.(not to worry, as theres stand-by medical teams to immediately rescue those who drop, and the worst that comes of these is usually strained/sprained wing muscles and shoulder muscles and some bruising.)
its a very long stretch of 'track' from the starting point being at the drop off of an extremely large cliff(the entire race has been using each course to climb up a mountain section by section) right into the ocean, and the entire stretch of flight is completely over deep water, and the finish line is on a large cruiz ship to kick off celebrations once the race is over.
And well, Virgil is small, shorter than his rival contestants, and kind of stout but not by much. But this entire time up till this point you never see his wings, theyre a pitch black lump on his back, naturally pulled tight from anxiety, while the other contestants are stretching their large and small wings out for the long dangerous flight ahead of them.
And just as Remus comes into view, Virgil takes a deep breath and relaxes, though his wings stay pulled tight. The trade off from Remus to Virgil is smooth, though a few other contestants are already taking off ahead of him, but he pays it no mind.
The strip of land he starts at is long enough to get up to a running speed, but instead of leaping up to unfurl his wings and take off or glide off, he takes the entire strip of land to sprint to the cliff,
And then he dives.
And by this point there are snippets of judges and contestants and his team gasping or staring in shock as this is not a normal strat and is infact extremely dangerous for even the most skilled of strong flyers. And Virgil has never particularly come off as a strong or skilled flyer, cautious and fast yes, but skilled?
(This is where the songs tempo starts to pick up to the fullest part of the first beat drops crescendo before lulling-)
And to top it all off, this clif is at least a mile or two high. For the first mile down, first still doesnt open his wings, but instead of looking panicked, he looks calm, his eyes closed and his arms at his side as the wind whips through his face, but its a perfect dive, and the wind fails to throw him off course like people expect it to.
And finally, just as it looks like hes about to dive headfirst into the ocean at full speed, his body doing a few twirls,
His long raven black wings unfurl-
And he soars.
(And the second beat drop hits and erupts into a dramatically energized beat)
Whatever the distance was that he fell behind the other contestants from the time it took to drop is easily lost as the momentum of his drop and the pushing currents of the ocean air send him rocketing towards the finishline, barely losing momentum the way his opponents do with their flapping while his sleek wings cut and glide through the air currents; every once in a while tipping his wings one way the other to catch on the ocean surface to maintain balance
Before you know it, he's close to the finish line of the race, and it takes one solid angles flap to pull him up enough to fly through the finish line with first place at a speed unheard of for this kind of race course, still meters ahead of the contestant to get second place.
Everyones in awe, people are cheering, and Virgil is smiling bashfully, and his team croud around him and are complimenting him
And, of course, because of Virgil's near world record-breaking preformance, their team wins.

Petz Catz 2 - Redesign+Rewrite
Introduction
So! I have been working on this for a bit now. Took some breaks as i worked on more important projects. I did loose some steam and did not draw as many characters as I intended but I did the important ones.  This is a rewrite & redesign project of the game Petz Catz/Dogz 2 (console version). Should be said-- i did NOT intend to “fix” the game, i merely added to the story and lore. I could go on and on about a cooler version of this game but this rewrite keeps it as the basic game that it is. That is also why the story still follows such a simple outline, but I did not plan to spend months remaking the game lol. Additionally i couldnt really draw the protag, Arvin and Ione due to the way the game works?? And i didnt want to alter that. But I have descriptions for them in here too.  I wanted to keep this pretty in line with the canon story and just flesh it out- no major changes to the plot that would make it unrecognizable! I feel i couldve gone deeper with it, but i like what i got and i dont want to get way too into it at this point. Feel free to send me asks about it and the ideas i have!
Table of Contents
General changes
Background/lore
The plot
Individual Characters + their bios
I will be referring to the main character as “Protag”, since this game lets you make your own character to play.
all the rest is below!
General things to know:
One thing from the original is that the characters are children (i think)… Personally I have decided to keep this vague or make them “teen-ish”. They won’t be perfectly mature but just not exactly the same. This is mainly because the beginning of the game starts with the main characters doing something very dumb and immature and I just don’t want to start it with those personalities being the same. Be sure to read each character bio to see how I changed their personality.
On the setting- i won’t go too into it but I like to imagine a semi-bustling town… More houses, NPCs having children or partners, etc. Characters helping each other, going chores, errands, etc. The original is just very empty so I want to establish that I view this rewrite with these changes in mind. I won’t be writing this into the story but, if you are to imagine the new world I have built, that is what it would look like!
There are some details i leave out because they wouldn’t be much different from the actual game, like simple exchanges to how a quest starts, or the “quests” in general. That is more gameplay related than story.
Lastly, on Victor… i definitely think its lame that he just isnt present through the rest of the game but i honestly couldn't come up with much of a way to involve him still. I give a different scenario for it, but i dont think its necessary for him to be by Protag’s side either.
For all minor NPCs that i did not design, i say what their breed is, and I also made relations between some NPCs that never existed.
Background/Lore
In this world magic has always been around, but much earlier in time it was more commonly used. Long ago a small family of cats was discovered to have magic in their blood, and found many magical artifacts across the land that could be used to benefit their species. The cats settled into villages, often behind the wizards who would keep peace across the land with their powers. The original family’s blood spread through other blood lines, and more cats became involved in magic- documenting their spells, the use of this magic, and the artifacts they discovered. The cats who discovered magic became more intelligent and started to explore the lands. Across the seas they went, and eventually came across an island populated by wolves. Approaching with kindness, the wolves accepted them at first. The wolves hadn’t learned about magic, but the cats taught them when they arrived and they realized they too had magical potential- and their own leader, Ivlet, had the ability to actually use magic himself! While this could’ve brought the species together, it just made them more power hungry and cautious of the cats. The wolf population did not agree with the cats’ intentions… they wanted to stay feral and wild… additionally, they did not like their organization, order, and control of magical artifacts. The pack leader, Ivlet, spoke that this magic is used best by the wildest of animals and so these cats were using it wrongly because of how civilized they were. The cats swiftly left and moved on, until they settled on the current island where Pawville now sits. In time, the population grew and magic was so ingrained in the world that cats knew about it but did not have many direct encounters with it… no one was casting spells and experimenting with alchemy. Things were peaceful and worked fine as they did. The use of magic became more and more uncommon due to there being no threats or new discoveries. So in time, cats’ started to stray from the original magical bloodline and it became more rare to find full fledged wizards. Many did not involve themselves and simply let the remaining wizards keep track of the magic in the world. In the present, the cats have moved on to casual lives where magic simply sits in the background of their world. It has taken a permanent place in being helpful to them but isn’t used for much else. The world is simple and peaceful. Old tales used to circulate more about the evil wolf “Ivlet” that the original settlers came across on their journey, but many did not think much of it years later and many wouldn’t ever think about wolves again.
Plot
Protag is digging through chests and drawers in the house looking for a working fishing rod. Their’s had broken, and Victor has been bugging them to get out and finally face them in the ultimate fishing competition! (...it's just normal fishing, but why not make it a competition and see who can catch the biggest sardine??). They didn’t want to buy a new one just for this and swore they saw one in here somewhere… As they pushed away clothes and other nonsense, they reveal some golden metal glint. Protag pulls it out, hoping to have found their fishing rod, but out comes a ragged wizard hat. Arvin turns at the commotion and swiftly trots over to put his paws down before Protag pulls the hat out any further. He tells Protag he shouldn’t be messing with that and Protag defensively says they didn’t mean to- they were just curious and thought it was a fishing rod they were looking for! Arvin says it is very important to the family and that it needs to stay safe. Protag comments it didn’t seem very safe tucked under ten pounds of clothing and junk in a wooden chest… Arvin adds, it needs to stay hidden. It should not fall into the hands of anyone with bad intentions. Arvin goes over to the tall wooden closet and pulls out a fishing rod. Before Protag turns to leave, Arvin stops them and says “Listen- I know I haven’t sat you down properly to explain all this but you should understand that our family has a long history- one of magic! That magic hat has been with us for generations, and it must stay within our home so that one uses it for evil. The magic contained in that hat could do too much damage if in the wrong hands….” As he trails off, he starts again, “You must know that while many stories seem like fiction nowadays to you kids, it is very much real- there is evil lurking out there--” and he is cut off by Victor banging at the door for Protag to come outside. Protag shrugs off his father’s rambling of magic and evil and heads through the door assuring his dad he won’t say anything.
...Earlier, somewhere many islands and oceans away, a lowly wolf approaches his pack leader to say they heard rumors of a magical artifact that could grant the user ultimate power to rule all the lands. It was a hat of some kind and apparently a very old family of magic users keeps the hat, a family that was friends with the first settlers that met the wolves ages ago- Theophilus and Bartholomew. This wolf had gathered more information on where they had settled, too. The wolves had been searching for artifacts like the ones the cats had when they visited years ago, but had no luck. The leader of the pack, Ivlet, had been searching and searching so he could properly conquer all the islands and reign over the cats to show them how magic should truly be used. He had never caught the scent of magical blood on his journeys, but finally he has an idea of where to go.. He sets off to find the island where a small town of Pawville lays....
Back on the sunny island, the two friends had been at the beach for a good number of hours now, but with very little luck on catching sardines. So they crossed the beach to find a better spot. As Victor leans over the edge of the dock his eye catches sight of a mysterious dark mass laying against the shallow beach. Not being able to tell what it is, he quickly tells Protag to come over and check it out- only to realize this big mass was a terrifying creature… a wolf? Who seemed unconscious! The two are quite freaked out and decide they should go find Sheriff Ada. The sheriff follows them back to the spot, and the wolf has started to wake up. He is weak, coughing up sea water, and definitely doesn’t seem capable of anything in this state. The sheriff sternly asks him what has happened, how did he get here? He explains that he went off course in his travels and did not intend to wash up. A storm shook him off course and destroyed his vessel. The sheriff still sees a wolf as a threat, regardless of his weakness, and says that she will allow him to recover in a cell at the jail- she was wary but also did not know much about wolves either, so she did not know what he was capable of. After that he must leave, however. Ada gathers the rest of the officers in town and they lead the wolf back to their jail where they lock him up. Protag and Victor are left behind- both a bit shaken by the sight of a wolf but interested in the mystery behind him. As the day grows late, the two head back to Protag’s home to have dinner before Victor goes to his own house. At the table, Victor can’t stop blabbing about what happened earlier and exchanging theories on what wolves were like, considering they never came to their island. Protag’s parents looked at each other with worried glances at this news of a wolf... While it seemed unlikely, they both were thinking of an old story about one of the most evil wolves of all- Ivlet. The idea that he is possibly the wolf that landed on their shores was certainly bad news.
After dinner, Protag heads out the door to walk Victor home, and Gertrude stops them- she swiftly says to Protag that she really needs a helping hand- Ada requested her to bring some medicine to the jail to give to the wolf but she has her hands full Kenneth who returned from an expedition with an injury. She simply tells Protag to go to the jail and deliver the medicine for her and that Ada left the front door unlocked for them to leave it inside.
Protag and Victor head to the jail- kind of excited to see the wolf again- maybe strike up a conversation and learn a little bit about where he came from. As they are off, Protag’s parents note that they haven’t returned home and step outside to figure out where they went. Gertrude says she put them on a quick errand to the jail but the parents aren’t happy to hear that, they really didn’t want the two of them getting carried away with a wolf. While they don’t know for sure who the wolf is, they’d rather not find out the wrong way. Back at the jail, the wolf has woken up and Victor is immediately ready to throw questions at him to find out what wolves are like. The whole while, this mysterious wolf simply entertained the excited cat, but had his eyes on Protag. The moment they walked in, the wolf was sniffing the air and wouldn’t take his gaze off Protag… so he finally piped up and turned to Protag, asking them some basic questions and while Protag seemed a little nervous about the wolf asking them things, they saw no harm. Protag asks the wolf’s name and he says it is Ivlet. Ivlet turns back to the Protag and Victor and asks the Protag “Do you know about magic?” They both look a little confused and say not really, it's a thing they hear about sometimes but no one uses it anymore. Ivlet looks at Protag and says how could he not know, he had magic in him! He could smell it! Protag is confused and shocked, and Ivlet almost seems frustrated that this cat he found was unaware of all the magic inside of him. He must know something! Ivlet slams his paw on the ground and suddenly Protag’s eyes are glowing purple. Ivlet asks “Do you know about anything magical at all?” Suddenly Protag speaks very clearly and says “My father showed me a hat just earlier that he said was magic.” Victor looked at him with shock and confusion, asking his friend what the heck he was talking about. But Protag wouldn’t listen, and Ivlet asked them “Do you know where that hat is?” Protag says they do. Victor is trying to figure out what happened to his friend, confused by all this sudden information.
Just in that moment, Protag’s parents come in and gasp at what is in front of them. Ione and Arvin realize immediately that this wolf is Ivlet, and that he has Protag under his control, revealing any information when he asks a question. But before they can do anything, Ivlet uses his powers to mind control them as well and stop them in their place. He orders for Protag to go and get the magic hat from where it is, and bring it back. The protag walks off and retrieves it from the chest that it sat in. Protag approaches the cell and Ivlet swiftly snatches it from Protag through the bars and chuckles at his easy success. Immediatly he lets go of everyone’s mind control and remarks how stupid they all were to not even realize who he was- he almost feels insulted that no one actively fears the all-powerful Ivlet but, it made this all ten times easier so, it worked out! Victor and Protag are dazed from the mind control but Ione and Arvin watch in horror as Ivlet puts on the Magic Hat. As the hat turns a muddy blue color, Ivlet swiftly displays its powers by crashing through the jail cell’s bars. He flies into the air and reigns destruction across the island’s land. The four could barely process what happened before he vanished into the night. All that is left in the jail is a small yellow glowing ball, realized to be the Good essense of the hat that left when Ivlet took control of it for his evil desires. Arvin takes it in his paws before frantically heading home.
With houses and stores damaged and the lands destroyed, Protag is left at home with his parents ashamed but still shocked about the events… they had no idea it would all escalate like that. Victor’s parents are forcing him to stay home as they are incredibly paranoid about the events. Protag apologizes to his parents repeatedly but also gets angry and says they never told him about this magic anyways! And he is mad that he had no idea his family had magical blood and that Ivlet was the one to reveal this to him. They apologize for keeping it all from him. Arvin suggests that he helps around Pawville before he considers getting into any more trouble, Arvin and Ione will figure out how to deal with this. [This is where all those Fixing Pawville quests would happen]
After finishing up all the help around the town, Protag comes home to their parents, definitely waiting for them as they sit at the table. Ione says she is so happy that Protag went and helped everyone who needed it and felt they really could be responsible for themself and others. Arvin says that he trusts Protag, and that he knows what they must do- go and meet the Magic Professor, Theophilus, who lives in Sky Heights. [Insert the quests that get you to Sky Heights] At Sky Heights, Protag is greeted by Theo who starts to ramble about his parents and all sorts of old history nonsense about magic and their blood and whatnot. He shows him all these books and notes and scrolls, excited that Ione and Arvin’s child is finally learning about magic. Protag interrupts to tell him that Arvin said he may know what they can do to stop Ivlet, that they want to help with that. Theo gets back on track and tells Protag about the hat and the elemental stones- the hat itself is the embodiment of all the elements and morals of the world. The hat can control, destroy, or create anything. If in the wrong hands, or with a user who doesn’t understand it, the hat may become so destructive that it destroys everything in existence, as the embodiment of Evil will take physical form and act on its own! These elemental stones are magical artifacts on other islands that are embodiments of each individual element (Earth, Water, Air, and Fire). If they find them all, they can use its combined powers to track down the hat and protect themselves against Ivlet- hopefully taking back the hat as well.
Theo explains where to find these crystals, and that they will need to head to one last location to find his brother, so they can cast the protection spell. [insert fetch quests for the stones]. Protag finds Bartholemew deep in the sandy desert- looking different than his brother as his fur is stained with the brown sands that blow across the land. He had set up his own little shack to study the land’s magical properties, or if it had any at all. After explaining the situation, they both head back to Sky Heights with the stones.
Meanwhile, Ivlet resides in a rocky castle, formed by himself with the hat that has now turned almost black. He groans and paws at his head as the hat’s color continues to darken… Ivlet’s own form has started to shift- turning more monstrous as his claws become longer and his teeth become sharper. Suddenly, a dark haze falls over the hat and Ivlet himself. The haze tries to take form, a physical shape of evil, but Ivlet growls and fights against it, fighting mentally with the magic that has already settled on his mind. With great strength, Ivlet manages to stop the Evil from getting away, but the dark engulfs him, adding more mass to the already monstrous wolf. From a mix of the darkness and Ivlet himself, rose a mix of something wolf-like and dragon-like. A most terrifying physical form of the most evil thing a cat could ever imagine.
Bart and Theo bring together the elemental stones in order to cast a spell that will allow them to track down the location of the hat. Once the spell is cast, the rocks glow and create a portal, the destination being where Ivlet is with the hat. Protag and the two wizards jump through the portal and come out on the other side, in a cold dark clearing of stone. They seemed to be under a roof as well- it is in fact a massive stone chamber, and at the other end a large pulsing black mass of a dragon sits on a stone ledge. Theo exclaims that it must be Ivlet, but the hat’s dark energy had taken him over, instead of becoming its own separate being. The dragon takes notice of them and roars, rushing at them with the thrust of its massive wings. The three turn around and run, heading for one of the corridors leading deeper into the castle. The dragon is gaining on them as they approach the hall, so Bart turns around and casts a spell to put a barrier on the hall so they can have more time to get ahead. As the dragon slams into the barrier, the stone walls shake around them. Theo remarks that maybe they can defeat this dragon by having the walls of the castle crumble upon it. As the dragon crashes through the barrier, the group runs for a tighter hall where the dragon attempts to go through but ends up stuck with its large gnarly teeth snapping through the entrance. As predicted, all of the dragons pushing and banging around caused stones to tumblr down and hit the dragon. Through the gaps in the crumbled stone a puff of the black haze flows through and the motion stops. Protag investigates and sees the rim of the Magic Hat, pulling it out from the rubble. It is now dull and grey, no power left in it.
The group sees no movement below the stones, and assuming their safety they run through the other halls so they can get back to the clearing and teleport back home. As they return to the main chamber, a loud echoing howl is heard. Bursting through the halls comes a large, monstrous Ivlet shouting at them to return his power to him. Theo tells Protag that they can use the stones to temporarily bring power back to the hat, and take out Ivlet themself. Protag fights Ivlet, and uses the stone to shake the castle walls yet again and trap Ivlet until the rubble once and for all. With the last of the hat’s temporary power, Protag opens the portal again to travel back home.
When they return, Protag takes the drained hat back home, where his father retrieves the Good essence left behind when Ivlet had taken over the hat, returning it back to its full strength. Protag’s parents tell them how proud they are that they were able to work with Theo and Bart to defeat Ivlet and get the hat back. They spread the news that Ivlet is no longer a threat and all returns to normal in Pawville.
Characters
Ivlet
Ivlet is an old evil wolf whose intention is to bring chaos to the islands. He was the “leader” of his island’s pack and many looked up to his powers and his hatred of the cats' use of magic. While previous wolves did not like the cats much, Ivlet escalated their hatred into believing that only wolves should be the ones to control all that magic, and that cats were using it wrongly.  Ivlet has magical blood and a power specific to himself- within a certain range he can mind control a being. The person when controlled can only do whatever the controller knows, as in he can’t ask someone to retreive something if the controller isnt aware of its location. Aside, he is very strong physically, has a great sense of smell, and can see in the dark.  Ivlet is impulsive, mean, toxic, and manipulative. Truly a bad wolf! He will do what he wants to get his way, but also make brash decisions to get things to work.
Arvin and Ione
Arvin belongs to a family with a good amount of magical blood, while Ione comes from an old family who never had magic but always worked closely with wizards. In their younger days, Ione worked as an assistant for Theophilus and Arvin was studying books written by Theophilus himself back at home. In both of their separate works, Theo eventually introduced the two. Arvin’s family had always carried the Magic Hat and continued to watch over it as he made a family with Ione. The two have quite extensive knowledge in magic and knew it was important to keep the hat a secret. The couple soon moved to South Pawville for a simpler life- hoping that they could give their offspring a simple childhood before introducing them to magic.  They are whatever breed the player chooses.
“Beat”
Beat does not exist in the same way as the original game. He is simply a glowing essence of magical matter and isn’t sentient. Sorry, I just thought he was 100% pointless and did not need to be a thing through the protag’s journey- story wise or gameplay wise.
Theophilus and Bartholomew
Two brother snowshoe cats, both magic users. Theo and Bart led the cats to the island they now all settle on, and researched the magical artifacts they discovered, so they could all be used for the safety and peace of the cats. Theo lives in Sky Heights among hundreds of books he wrote himself about magic while Bart went off on an expedition to study magic in the land.  Dog breed: Basenji

At the moment I have chosen not to redesign/rewrite any other characters, just the ones above as they are more important/relevant to the setting.
