i tried real hard to write their dialogue in the proper arabic (standard arabic for killer, egyptian arabic for color) and i hope to god they say what i want them to say, i was clinging to translators like my life depended on it

context for this is like. killer comes home during stage 1 and assumes based off the DT on his face and how tired and shaky he is, he must be having a rough day. fragile killer being held by color

Killer and Color should get married not only for tax benefits and an expression of loyalty and devotion because they have plans to live their life together, but also so Color would be considered family and therefore able to visit Killer in the hospital and vice versa. And also they have each other in their wills.

The whole marriage thing probably cropped up because something landed Killer in the hospital (can be anything, started a fight, a particularly bad spiral that ended in the hospital), but the docs wouldn’t let anyone who wasn’t family visit.

So Color forced himself to lie (which he hates doing), and although he was glad it worked despite his fumbling, he was still feeling upset at himself about it (falling into that integrity-justice looping thoughts).

So Killer was just like “then let’s get married then” which completely halted Color’s thoughts out of pure astonishment. He asks for clarity and Killer’s like, “Didn’t lie if we’re actually married.” And Color’s like, “Is this your proposal?”

And no, it wasn’t. It was a spontaneous choice but as soon as he’s released from the hospital, he decides to plan an entire proposal like a week or two later. And Color’a absolutely befuddled because he thought Killer was just joking, but he accepts and they’re married like a month or two later.

If anyone asks, Killer just says they got married because, “Color is a bad liar.” To which Color grumbles that he can lie, he just doesn’t like to.
