I really like Studio Ghibli and most of the old Disney 2d movies. I used to watch them all the time as a kid, they definitely have a heavy influence on my art today haha!

I also love the Moomin series (the 90s and most recent versions) and have been very into Blue Eye Samurai for the last few months (it's weird to put these two shows on the same paragraph lmao)

I actually don't watch a lot of live action stuff, so these are like my favorite shows and movies in general lmao

-Baby has beautiful dark eyes (got the eye-shape from Ambrosius and the 🥺 energy from Ballister) and Cyrus got 'stares into your soul' eyes (got the blue from Ambrosius, and the intense staring from Ballister)

-Also, see that Baby is taller than Ballister (like Movie Ambrosius is) and Cyrus is shorter than Ballister (like Comic Ambrosius is) waa

-Also, I've been thinking that maybe the 'Baby' nickname was given by Ambrosius, and that's why Cyrus doesn't have it, because his fathers hadn't been too close during the pregnancy, mainly because Ballister hadn't wanted them to be.

-I drew this thing to see the differences between both asjdk it mostly being that in their movie version it was always teamwork, and in the comic version it was all Ballister (+ Nimona, but the point is that Ambrosius wasn't there to parent too) (thinking if that'd be because Ballister didn't want him around or what, I don't know🧍)

madrigal kids sleepover hcs! because I’m bored and need doodle ideas!

- isabelas room is usually the designated sleepover spot

- luisa brings the most blankets pillows stuffies and makes a fort

- the grandkids would sit in a circle and dolores gets them to play 2 truths and a lie

- she also would gossip just a little bit!

- isa would want to do face masks and styling hair! luisa is always first in line (she gets sister privileges)

- camilo would let the girls use him as a canvas for makeup looks

- if it’s silent for too long mirabel would start a pillow fight out of nowhere

- antonio is surprisingly good at shadow puppets

- dolores makes the best hot chocolate so therefore everyone wants her to make a cup for them!

- would you rather always ends in some kind of argument

- whoever falls asleep first is victim to marker on their face in the morning (usually mirabel)

- antonio would say let’s have a dance party! and boom spontaneous dance party

- camilo would sneak snacks when nobody is looking

- card games end with isa silently pissed and glaring at whoever points out the fact she’s pissed

- matching pjs are a must

- mira reads antonio bedtime stories

- luisa gets really into karaoke

- antonio has too many candies and he’s hyper

- someone would want to try vine swinging with isa (usually they suck)

- when the younger ones are asleep dolores will bring out the wine she somehow managed to hide from the kids

- tipsy heart to hearts that end in sobbing “i love you guys so much” 😭😭

- mirabel yaps in her sleep and it’s always amusing for the others since she always falls asleep first

- camilo would randomly yell “IS ANYONE AWAKE” in the dark

- he gets a pillow to the face by luisa

- isa and dolores have had a bet since childhood on who can stay awake the longest

- luisa hogs the blankets in the night and it is quite literally impossible to get back

- mirabel wakes up first and has to get everyone else up and yes she will use a song

- they throw pillows at her it’s too early for this

they wouldn't let me write the live action Disney adaptions because I would have had the best Ping you have ever seen. He and Shang would have had chemistry that took your breath away. They would be Yearning. the audience would be Yearning. it would be electric and terrifying and by marika would Mulan/Ping be hot. Shang is obsessed, the audience is obsessed. there would be hardly be a person in the attendance that doesn't Get where Shang is coming from. who wouldn't rend their clothes and scream to the heavens over Mulan/Ping. she takes no prisoners.

and yes, Shang kisses him in the snow as he cradles Ping's injured, dying body.

and yes, from the opening scene to the rolling credits he's going slowly mad.

and the first time you see Mulan she's dressed in the most feminine, floaty, light-colored dressy robes, with bone white makeup and painted lips and you fall in love with her. and there's something underneath, too. and it's so intriguing.

and then she shows up as Ping, and it takes a while to get used to, and it's kind of funny and awkward. but then it looks better and better to you. and soon you find you can hardly bear it when the camera turns away from him for even a second. and Ping isn't awkward to be around at all, he's stunning and brave and resilient and determined to be kind and you're desperately in love with him and you decide he looks incredible in the warriors' robes, actually. and his smile makes you want to kiss him. it makes Shang want to scream. and to kiss him.

and then comes the last leg. and she's got the gender-neutral robes, the "neutral" stage makeup. the loose updo. and you've never been as attracted to anyone in your life as Shang is to her. and you get it. you really, really get it. and wow the way the cuff of her sleeves and the silhouette of her robes make your heart clench. and the way her posture, her gait, make a new kind of sense. you can feel this is It. this is The Costume. you're obsessed and Shang is obsessed.

And then in the end, she's wearing pretty soft-colored robes and it makes you think for a moment that she looks like she did at the beginning. but then actually something makes her strength visible too. is it the cut of the costume? her posture? the framing of the shots? Yes it is. and you know, when Shang shows up, You know he can see it too. and he doesn't want to stop looking any more than you do. and he isn't going to even when you do.

every kid that ever watched my Mulan would recall it as Formative, like y'alls Danny Phantom but on the sickest steroids ever invented. She'd be irresistible. and so very gender.

So I’ve finally seen deadpool and wolverine and I’m probably gonna make a lot of posts about it but the first thing I wanna say is the movie could have been wall-to-wall grade a trash (it wasn’t) but it would have been worth it for that amazing montage of behind the scenes footage from so many pre-mcu movies 💕

If you’ll allow me to shill and be cringe for a moment, as someone who grew up with the fox x men universe and various other pre-mcu superhero movies this movie being one big tribute to the films that paved the way for the mcu’s success is unbelievably touching and I’m so glad the final note these characters and stories end on is a reminder of the people behind the performances who brought superheroes to life when no one believed it could be done. Those early superhero movies will mean more to me than the avengers ever will.

So thank you so much to the x men and fantastic four. To hugh jackman’s wolverine and wesley snipes blade and Jennifer garners electra. Chris Evan’s Johnny storm and dafne keen’s X-23 and all the others who didn’t get a cameo like nic cage’s ghost rider, Ben affleck’s daredevil and ang lee’s hulk!

Random Wachowski family headcanon: for their first Halloween, Tom chooses to dress up as Darth Vader just so he can say the iconic lines to each of his kids. "Sonic, I am your father" , "Tails, the force is strong with you", "Knuckles, come and join me to the dark side." Etc.
