Who's going to make that unpleasant white buchimgae if you go to jail? Who am I going to scream at and throw a fit when I'm upset? [...] I hate to admit this, but I love being with you. [...] Don't go. Please don't go.

Your honor. The victim is still a minor, and she spent a lot of time with the defendant, which is enough time for him to draw emotional sympathy from her.
"Emotional sympathy". He isn't capable of such a thing. He shudders whenever I speak and does everything I say. You have no idea how much he cared about me. The time that I spent with him was special. No one treated me the way he treated me before.

By any chance, are you in a situation where you can’t call the police? Are you in hiding or running away?

name: Light of My Lion
genres: Family, Life and Found family vibes
episodes: 11
my rating: 9/10
story: The shows main character, Hiroto Komori, works at a city hall and has a brother, Michito Komori, who is an artist and has autism spectrum disorder. Their daily lives follow a strict routine. This routine is abruptly broken by the appearance of "Lion," a young boy who turns up at their home one day, who they take in. But why was he there? What about his parents?
The show also has great cinematography and use of colours used emit a a cozy vibe, yet this does not mean it lacks plot or excitement.
shows that I think are similar:
Bokura no Shokutaku - an office worker starts making food for a man and his younger brother. (Similar vibes)
The Kidnapping Day- a man kidnaps the child of a rich family in order to cover his daughters hospital bills. (Found family)
Cheer Up, Mr. Lee- A father who has an intellectual disability and his daughter who has been sick and in the hospital go on a trip. (Found family)
-!following part contains spoilers!-
personal reflection: I feel as though this show encompassed human connection, humans, and change in a positive yet realistic light.
Since the day Lion moved in with the two brothers their lives started changing very quickly, and yet despite the reluctance and the difficulties in this change, as the show goes on we see the characters enjoying this change and deciding by themselves to evolve and improve as people. This show also, in my opinion, illustrates humans as they are meant to be. The characters are written and portrayed in a way that they are neither good or bad people. At the beginning of the show there were questions of wether X or "Lion's" mom, Aoi Tachibana were "the bad charicters." Then, despite "Lion's" father seeming like a good father and good husband who was searching for his lost wife and child we learn that he was in fact abusing them repeatedly. So, he then becomes the bad character, but yet again during the last episode we learn that this was possibly his way of showing love was to keep them by his side no matter what. In this I'm not discrediting the abuse he inflicted towards Aoi Tachibana and Lion, but instead I am saying I like how the show portrays that good and bad are not always so distinctly separable from one another. That every person has done good and bad, and that we cannot be clearly labelled by one or the other.
So, overall I say if you enjoy an overall calm aesthetic with well written characters portrayed by amazing actors and a plot line with mystery, wholesomeness and are a found family trope enjoyer then i whole heartedly recommend this show.

If I lose my memory again, don't tell me anything. Just keep lying the way you did by telling me you're my dad.
