Note
do you have the behind the scenes photos? I haven't seen them
I’m SO MANY days late to this, but I think this was in reference to the filming at Crystal Beach, a few weeks ago for New Bethlehem, and unfortunately, I do not know where those photos were posted. If anyone has them, help an anon out and reblog? 🙏

"...maybe I would have lived in ignorance forever like some pet. I was a lonely, hopeless person, and I might have fallen in love with the first thing that showed me a hint of kindness and safety. Maybe he knew that- maybe not actively- and maybe that worked for who I was before. Maybe it doesn't work for who- what I am now."

Overcoming Writer's Block
Overcoming Writer's Block: Strategies and Inspiration from Fellow Authors
Writer's block is the dreaded nemesis of authors, a seemingly insurmountable barrier that can strike at any stage of the creative process. It's the moments when inspiration feels elusive, words refuse to flow, and the blank page taunts you. Every writer, from beginners to seasoned professionals, has experienced it. But the good news is that it's not an unbeatable foe. In this blog, we'll explore strategies and find inspiration from fellow authors to overcome writer's block and reignite your creative spark.
Understanding Writer's Block
Writer's block is often misunderstood as a singular, monolithic entity. In reality, it comes in various forms and can be triggered by different factors. Some common manifestations of writer's block include:
1. Blank Page Syndrome: You sit down to write, but the blank page stares back at you, devoid of words or ideas.
2. Self-Doubt: Insecurities about your writing abilities can paralyze your creativity. You second-guess every word you put on paper.
3. Stagnation: You feel stuck in your story, unable to progress or find a way forward.
4. Lack of Ideas: You may have a concept or outline, but the well of ideas has run dry, leaving you without a clear direction.
5. Perfectionism: The quest for perfection in your writing can lead to an overwhelming fear of making mistakes, stifling your progress. Here are few tips on How To Overcome The Fear Of Rejection As A Writer
Strategies to Overcome Writer's Block
1. Start Writing, Any Writing: The most important step to overcome writer's block is to write. Anything. It could be a journal entry, a random thought, or a few lines of unrelated text. The act of writing, regardless of the content, can help break the mental barriers.
2. Set Realistic Goals: Instead of aiming to write a thousand words in one sitting, set achievable, smaller goals. Tell yourself you'll write for 15 minutes or just one paragraph. The sense of accomplishment when you meet these goals can motivate you to continue.
3. Change Your Writing Environment: Sometimes, a change in scenery can do wonders. If you usually write at your desk, try writing outdoors, in a café, or even in a different room. New surroundings can stimulate creativity.
4. Writing Prompts: Writing prompts are a fantastic way to jumpstart your creative thinking. They provide a topic or a starting point to get your creative juices flowing. Many websites and books offer an array of writing prompts to choose from.
5. Exercise and Mindfulness: Physical activity and mindfulness practices, such as meditation or yoga, can help clear your mind and reduce stress. A fresh, relaxed mind is more likely to overcome writer's block.
6. Read and Research: Sometimes, reading a book, article, or research related to your topic can reignite your passion and ideas. It exposes you to new perspectives and can provide the spark you need to continue writing. Few more tips on becoming Productive Writer
Inspiration from Fellow Authors
One of the most reassuring aspects of writer's block is that you're not alone. Fellow authors have been there, struggled through it, and emerged victorious. Let's take inspiration from their experiences and advice:
1. Margaret Atwood: The renowned author of "The Handmaid's Tale" suggests that writer's block often stems from a lack of motivation, which can be solved by setting and meeting small, manageable goals. She says, "If I waited for perfection, I would never write a word."
2. J.K. Rowling: The creator of the "Harry Potter" series acknowledges that writer's block is a common issue even for prolific authors. She advises writers to avoid self-criticism during the first draft and just get the words on paper.
3. Ernest Hemingway: Hemingway believed in stopping at a point where you still know what will happen next in your writing, so you can easily pick up where you left off. This tactic can prevent the feeling of stagnation and fear of the unknown.
4. Stephen King: The author of numerous bestsellers advocates for consistency. He says, "Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration; the rest of us just get up and go to work." Establishing a daily writing routine can be a powerful weapon against writer's block.
5. Maya Angelou: The late poet and author emphasized the importance of showing up to write regularly. She advised, "What I try to do is write. I may write for two weeks 'the cat sat on the mat, that is that, not a rat,' ... I must write it down."
Seek Support from Writing Communities
If you're still battling writer's block despite trying various strategies, consider reaching out to writing communities. Fellow authors can provide encouragement, feedback, and inspiration. Joining writing groups, participating in writing challenges, or attending workshops can connect you with like-minded individuals who understand your struggles.
Moreover, sharing your experiences with fellow authors can be liberating. It reminds you that writer's block is a common affliction and not a testament to your abilities. It's a temporary roadblock, not an insurmountable obstacle.
In Conclusion
Writer's block is a formidable adversary, but it can be defeated with determination and the right strategies. Understanding its different forms, setting realistic goals, changing your writing environment, using prompts, and practicing mindfulness are effective tactics to overcome it.
Draw inspiration from accomplished authors who have faced writer's block and emerged victorious. Their experiences and advice can serve as beacons of hope during your own writing struggles.
Remember, writing communities are there to support you. Sharing your challenges and triumphs with fellow authors can provide the motivation and encouragement needed to break through writer's block and continue on your creative journey. Writer's block is not the end of your story; it's just one more obstacle to overcome on your path to becoming a successful writer.

I have a nagging feeling that the writers will take the scorned woman approach with Rose in Season 6. How likely do you think it is that she betrays Nick regarding his relationship with June?
Yeah, that feels totally plausible! I actually wouldn’t mind that tbh. Anything that heightens the need for Nick to gtfo of Gilead would be welcome for me at this point.
I kinda thought S5 might go that direction, but my only hesitation in hoping for it was that it would make Nick look kind of stupid for telling Rose so much about June. On the other hand, it’s kinda sweet that he tried to do better than how things went down with Eden, which includes now being honest with his wife, though I doubt Rose knows Nichole is his child… And if she doesn’t, that’s certainly an extra safety measure for Nichole. Honesty about his girlfriend is one thing, but telling his loyal Gilead wife that he has a child who was born in Gilead but then escaped to Canada would be idiotic imo.
I really thought, after June’s Canadian testimony, that Gilead would use Nick’s paternity to try to get Nichole back. Maybe that’s coming up for S6…

The Blessed Cult Legacy Masterpost
Blessed be the fruit.
So around four score and seven years ago, in late 2017, I decided to start a legacy based on The Handmaid's Tale. I named it the Blessed Cult legacy, and only posted it to r/thesims for the entirety of it's run.
It had a small, dedicated audience that I am forever grateful for, because working on it carried me through some rough times, and it was probably still the most fun I ever had in my game to this day.
Unfortunately the series came to a premature end due to data loss (some lessons have to happen multiple times before you get it ig). After losing so much work, CC, and screenshots forever, I ended up dropping the series entirely and any maintenance for imgur links.
Since I still receive sporadic messages about the series from people finding it years later, they alerted me to the fact that some of the links are broken. I only just realized some of them are have been wiped entirely from imgur for gore or nudity, and are unrecoverable.
In a half-ass effort to preserve what I have left, Im reuploading all the imgur links and reddit posts related to the series here.
May the lord open.
DISCLAIMERS
TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic and sexual violence, enslavement, religious fundamentalism, rigid gender roles, child abuse, gore/extremeviolence mod, nudity/wickedwhims mod
Because the show was still newish and The Testaments hadn't been released yet, I basically filled in gaps in the social order as I went along. Definitely a lot of things I wouldn't do today.
Ngl some parts are very cringy to me now, looking back at my 22-23 year old self. So PLEASE dont assume I write or think like this anymore, for the love of the Watcher :')
Reddit post: The Blessed Cult Legacy
Reddit post: How toddlers can singlehandedly destroy any well planned gameplay (Blessed Cult update)
Reddit post: Blessed Cult Update (#3)
The fourth post is gone completely from my imgur, most likely for NSFW content. Since the only screens I have left of this save are the ones in my imgur, that one is just gone completely.
Reddit post: Blessed Cult Update (#4)
Reddit post: Blessed Cult is Back! (#5)
Reddit post: Turns out a 15 sim household is just constant birthdays (Blessed Cult update #6)
Blessed Cult #7 is also lost to the sands of time, most likely because of gore. Which is a shame, because it was the season finale. I no longer have the imgur post, but the reddit post is still up. RIP.
Reddit post: All cults go to some heaven (Season 1 Finale)
Reddit post: We've been sent good weather (Blessed Cult Legacy Season 2)
Season 2 episode 2 is also gone probably for NSFW and nudity. F.
Reddit Post: Secret Life of a Gileadean Teenager (Blessed Cult 2.2)
Reddit post: Yellow Wallpaper (Blessed Cult 2.3)
After this point I lost everything on my computer up to about half a year and was so depressed by the loss that I dropped the series, and Sims in general, for several years. Here is the reddit post explaining that: A brief post about the Blessed Cult Legacy.
I had also created some builds for this save, some of which I posted about here when I returned to Sims from my hiatus (The great dump, parts 1, 2, and 3).
Besides the main house, there was a very large cathedral that was built and then revamped - only shared on reddit/imgur, as well as the main banqueting hall used for events:
Reddit post: Yacothia Cathedral - Blessed Cult Legacy
Reddit Post: Yacothia Cathedral Reboot - Blessed Cult
Reddit post: A post not about EA's latest fuckup. A nice neutral build post
The Future?
For the past few years I have actually been working on bringing the series back to some extent. I have several test saves, a google doc of a potential Handmaid's Tale legacy challenge, and Ive been communicating regularly with other simmers who have implemented the idea into their own games!
So keep an ear out, an eye open. And nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

1. Your main fandom of the year: the x-files, my one and only. really my only fandom for awhile now.
2. Your favorite film this year: barbie was on the only movie i saw in theaters and i loved it! i also really enjoyed smile, thought it was actually scary and sosie bacon was great.
3. Your favorite book this year: hard to pick! i finally read the seven husbands of evelyn hugo by taylor jenkins reid and loved it. malibu rising by the same author was good as well. and i have some questions for you by rebecca makkai, which read like a true crime podcast.
4. Your favorite album or song this year: it came out in 2022, but stick season by noah kahan continues to be on played on repeat.
5. Your favorite tv shows this year: i enjoyed the new seasons of never have i ever, you, black mirror, and the handmaid's tale (not actually new, but the latest season). as for completely new to me - i really liked dopesick, jury duty, and search party!
6. Your favorite tumblr community this year: x-files is the only community i'm a part of lmao.
7. Your best new fandom discovery of the year: kinda lame but anytime i see new fans of txf on tumblr, i get excited :)
8. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: the lack of hype around the 30th anniversay. not on tumblr - i loved everyone's gifs and contributions in september. but no mention from david and/or gillian? c'mon.
9. Your tv/movie boyfriend and/or girlfriend of the year: mulder&scully4eva
10. Your biggest squeeze moment of the year: just the fact that people keep writing fics for a 30 year show - i love reading them all. but special shoutouts to gaslight by @sisterspooky1013 and pause by @cecilysass - there were both suspenseful & entertaining stories that sparked a lot of interesting discussion and theories! thank you for posting chapter by chapter, it felt like watching the show.
