The Great (Hulu) season 3 just came out and we haven't finished watching it YET, but we need to talk about how incredible Catherine and Peter's love is.
Like come on, Peter is an indefensibly horrible man who has done some incredibly unforgivable things (we are still crying over Leo, plus fucking Catherine's mom to dead is batshit), but.....we just can't stop rooting for him and Catherine to somehow get their happily ever after. Is it insane? Yes. Are we planning on changing? No
It's wonderful that Catherine went through with stabbing Peter at the end of season 2 (she thought it was him which is what counts), because even though she lives him with all her heart, she's still trying to make rational decisions
(Season 3 spoilers in this paragraph) Even things like him refusing to kill the man who assaulted him as a child because Catherine didn't want to (he only slipped up after Simitz taunted Grigor), and the fact that he doesn't want to sleep with anyone other than Catherine anymore is so much evidence of his growth!!!
Anyway, the point is that their chemistry is incredible and I am rooting for them till my dying breath! What do you think? Watch out video and let us know!!

I watched 33 seasons of television shows in 2022, edging out my previous personal best count from 2020. Most were on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. I ranked those seasons and made a few comments about them, should you care to know what influenced the season’s place on the list. Rewatched seasons are marked with an asterisk. Previous years' rankings are linked at the bottom.
The Great: Season 1 -- The first episode is a necessary, albeit somewhat unenjoyable acclimation period because the characters speak in what initially seems like gratuitous vulgarities on behalf of the show’s writers. But by the end of the second episode, it all clicks. Pure brilliance. (I thought my introduction to Nicholas Hoult was in “True History of the Kelly Gang,” in which he plays a terrible character I didn’t like. And then I saw him in “Sand Castle,” which is a war movie that may have forgotten to hire a military consultant – and Hoult has an iffy American accent. Based on those characters walking in, I didn’t like him in this show at first. But the moment I realized he was Marcus Brewer in About a Boy, everything shifted and I became a huge fan of his acting ability/character in this show.)
Keep Sweet: Season 1 -- An inside look at the fundamentalist sect of the Church of Latter Day Saints, lead by Warren Jeffs. I have a soft spot for cult studies.
Black Mirror: Season 4 -- The best season. All parents should watch Arkangel, and Hang the DJ stuck with me. Crocodile feels like it’s right around the corner.
Black Mirror: Season 1 -- A what-would-you-do episode, a comment-on-society episode, and an episode where life has become what my documentarian heart has always dreamed about. Fascinating.
Black Mirror: Season 2 -- White Bear is my favorite episode so far. That CGI Bear episode is one of my least favorites. I’m impressed that they’re still coming up with such interesting concepts two seasons in.
The Great: Season 2 -- At times it reaches too far, but Fanning and Hoult are fantastic.
Better Call Saul: Season 2 -- I’m hooked. They’ve got me pulling for the character who makes bad decision after bad decision.
Better Call Saul: Season 3 -- I’m more interested in Nacho and Mike than I am Jimmy and Kim at this point. I’m ready for Jimmy to stop making bad decisions.
Dead to Me: Season 1 -- Quirky and fun and funny. Reeks of Will Farrell’s humor, even though he’s just the executive producer.
*Seinfeld: Season 4 -- About midway through the season, the actors come into their characters in the way that we know them. Kramer is the best.
Better Call Saul: Season 1 -- I wasn’t a huge fan of Breaking Bad, and Saul was one of my least-favorite characters, but I never took him as seriously as I am taking him in his own show. Invested in both storylines. I also want to rewatch BB.
Better Call Saul: Season 4 -- I don’t understand Jimmy and Kim relationship. We’re getting closer to Breaking Bad timeline and I’m eager to come full circle.
*Seinfeld: Season 5 -- They’ve gotten a budget and some of the reputation-based jokes are starting to land – the best jokes are ones where the character doesn’t act, but we know what he/she wants to do/say – but there are still some entire episodes that fall flat. They’ve figured out their formula and any “gun” that’s introduced at all will predictably be fired before the credits roll.
The Last Kingdom: Season 5 -- The show has run its course. These characters have lived five lifetimes.
Alone: Season 8 -- This is my first season to watch and I didn’t want to like it, but I was too invested in Biko to stop watching.
*Seinfeld: Season 3 -- It’s almost like their trying to milk jokes from character reputation alone, but they still haven’t built a reputation. Except for Kramer, of course, who is still solid.
*Seinfeld: Season 2 -- “The Deal” (S2, E9) is the first good episode of the series. Kramer is still the highlight.
Maniac: Season 1 -- Interesting vibe/tone. Justin Theroux’s character makes the show worth watching.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season 1 -- For network TV sitcom, it’s a pretty good show. Lots of good one-liners in the style of “30 Rock.” But the ridiculous nature and lack of depth of such shows grows tiresome after 13 episodes.
Black Mirror: Season 3 -- The weakest season so far.
Ozark: Season 4A -- Classic final season situation where the writers are caught in between stretching things out for another season while also trying to tie up all the plot lines. Things got ridiculous. Julia Garner was fantastic, though.
Inventing Anna: Season 1 -- Interesting story, poorly told. Julia Garner was fantastic, though.
Black Mirror: Season 5 -- I accidentally started with Season 5 – not that it matters that much since the episodes don’t build on one another. I appreciated that these three episodes were different than anything I’d ever seen, but they also kind of felt like b-movies. (One of those b-movies with inexplicable starpower.)
Dahmer: Season 1 -- Started out great, but the intrigue wore off after the first couple of episodes.
*Seinfeld: Season 1 -- Dated. They’re trying to find themselves. Kramer is still evolving, but he’s good from the get-go.
Ozark: Season 4b -- Too much.
Dead to Me: Season 2 -- It went a little off the rails.
Uncoupled: Season 1 -- Neil Patrick Harris always delights – and I appreciate having a fuller picture of gay sex -- but I was eager to be finished with this one.
A League of the Own: Season 1 -- The desire to show viewers how gay everyone is seems to have surpassed the desire to tell a good story.
This is Us: Season 1 -- Network TV predictability and saccharine as hell.
Murderville: Season 1 -- I could watch people break character all day, but there were a lot of dry spells throughout.
Russian Doll: Season 2 -- This is not the same show as Season 1 (which finished 3rd of 32 in 2020). So disappointing. I never felt like anyone was in control of the story.
Yellowstone: Season 3 -- SPOILER ALERT: How in God’s name do the Dutton’s not have better security? And does the federal government just not give a damn about all the murdering happening in Montana? Teeter is the most unrealistic character I can think of that has made it beyond the cutting room floor of any show – that accent is awful. And not a chance Walker gets on stage at a bar so close to the Yellowstone.
See previous lists here: 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017.

A Quick Guide To Getting Caught Up On Critical Role Fast
This guide is for people who want the fastest way official to get caught up on all 3 Critical Role campaigns without seeing the full actual play episodes. They're all made so that the AP will still be enjoyable later even if you know what happens. There's no "right" way to get into the series, and already having an idea of what happens can even help make the APs more enjoyable and easier to understand.
Summary:
The Legend of Vox Machina
Crit Recap Animated
Exandria: An Intimate History
Critical Role Abridged
Guide:
Campaign 1:
The Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon Prime is the animated adaptation of C1 by the same creators. Sam Riegel said the creative approach is this was the version in av later play. All the important bits are there, but they get to those moments differently.
The Legend of Vox Machina has 3 seasons out now that cover events up through at least episode 85. A 4th season is in the works and will probably cover the final arc.
Campaign 2:
An animated adaptation for Amazon Prime called "Mighty Nein" is in the works, but not out yet.
Crit Role Animated is an older comedic summary series presented by their Lore Keeper that covers the whole campaign in 10 videos. Great if you want the gist.
It's like a history crash course history video meant to get you curious to learn the full story later. Great way to get a sense of who people are and what they've done. Available on YouTube and their streaming platform Beacon.
Exandrian History Review:
Exandria: An Intimate History is a timeline review of key events in world history, starting from the creation.
It was released before Campaign 3 as bonus content. It represents what the average person in Exandria knows about world history up to that point.
youtube
Campaign 3:
Critical Role Abridged is the Campaign 3 AP condensed down into 1 to 1.5 hours. It mostly cuts down combat to the narrated results and reduces table chatter and indecisiveness. It's a great way to experience the full campaign.
Critical Role Abridged is coming out 1 a week at a time on YouTube and 2 a week on Beacon. YouTube is currently up to episode 25. Beacon is up to episode 47. The AP is at episode 109. At some point you'll have to switch to full episodes to catch up.
Wiki:
There's also 2 world-class wikis where's you can look up extensive and meticulously cited information about anything you need. I prefer The Encyclopedia Exandria.
Viewing Notes:
An important thing to know about "continuity" in Critical Role is that it takes a more realistic view of how history is passed down through the ages and even dedicated academics will never know the full story or be fully correct. They know versions colored by in-world biases and lost knowledge.
Which is great for you the viewer because any campaign you comes into, the characters don't know most of what happened in past games. What they actually know will come up in game. The players have above table reactions and some subtle in jokes, but try not to act on meta knowledge.
It's structured a lot like reading one history book and then wanting to go back and read more about past events that set the stage for all those things to happen. They've tried to make it easier to come into the story happening now.
I certainly enjoyed watching the full APs from the beginning, and I think you can get a deeper understanding of the story from them, but it takes thousands of hours to catch up on the story that way and it isn't realistic for everyone. Each series builds on the consequences of past events more than they rely on unexpected twists, so already knowing what happens just helps you notice all the little things that led to them. Similar to how Shakespeare's plays are often more enjoyable to watch unfold if you already know the basic plot points going into them.
Happy viewing, and I hope this helps you or someone you know get into this very rich and interesting story!

ADHD money/budgeting system I'm currently using for my benefit is going well (I've been using it for like half a year now?), and I wanna recommend it.
You Need a Budget is EXCELLENT. 10/10 do recommend. Uhhh rambling about it and my generic disclaimers + gushing extensively under the cut but TL;DR I think it's great for ADHD ppl, I've used it for 6+ months now and I find it super SUPER helpful. also weirdly fun.
DISCLAIMERS:
Budgeting helps you understand/know your money, it can't make money appear where there is none.
Everyone should learn to budget even if you don't have much money (especially then)
This is NOT a magic trick solution. Just like everything else, it is an assistive tool. This is one of those adult things we can't simply opt out of without negative consequences, though.
My advice is based on something I am currently able to do. That is, I can spend an amount of money on this specific thing that works well for me. If you have no extra money to spend then previously I was tracking things in a notebook. So you can still do this.
I believe Dave Ramsey is a fundie fraud/hack and no one should listen to him about money.
DID YOU KNOW THEY CANCELLED MINT???
Okay? OKAY.
Ahem.
You Need a Budget is EXCELLENT.
It is called YNAB for short. The first 34 days are your free trial, and that is my referral link. If anyone uses it and then signs up for a subscription, we both get a month free. Also you can share a subscription with up to six people (account owner can see everything but individuals can pick and choose what they share amongst each other) so like...idk your whole polycule can be on one account. Or your kids. Whatever.
If you are a student, it's free for a year. If you aren't, a subscription is $99 for a year (paid all at once) or $14.99 monthly, which is equivalent to paying Amazon prime. Go cancel Prime and get this instead tbh.
They got a whole article just on ynab and ADHD. They also have like...a big variety of ways to access their info? They have a book, podcast episodes, YouTube videos, blog posts, q&A's, free live workshops you can join (you can request live captioning), emails they can send (if you want) a wiki, and so on. They got workshops on all kinds of topics!!
So whatever ends up working for your brain. It also has a matching app.
If you lost Mint this year they have a gajillion things for moving from Mint.
Also they have a "got five minutes?" Page which has a slider so you can decide how much attention/time you have before going on lol:
They only have 4 rules of the budget, they're simple and practical, and it doesn't get judgey or like...mean about your spending.
1. Give every dollar a job 2. Embrace your true expenses 3. Roll with the punches 4. Age your money.
THEN THEY BREAK THESE DOWN INTO SMALL STEPS FOR YOU! They even have a printable! Also these rules are great because there's built in expectations that things WILL HAPPEN and it's NOT all or nothing with a fear of total collapse into failure. Reality and The Plan don't always align, especially if you have ADHD. So it's directing our energy towards the true expenses and not clinging to The Plan!! over reality.
You can automate a lot of shit (you can sync with your bank accounts just like mint, but also automate tagging the categories of regular expenses/transactions). And if for whatever reason you accidentally do something that makes the budget look weird or wrong:
A) you can usually fix it somehow OR b) they have like, a button you can press that gives you a clean slate and archives the previous version of the budget for you.
So if you forget for a few weeks or months, or accidentally input something wildly wrong, or just don't want to look at a really terrible month anymore and feel like you need a fresh start you can usually either fix it or start fresh which is really nice.
The app also (for whatever reason) scratches my itch to have things like...have incentives or little game-like goals in a way mint never did? I don't know why. Filling up the bars or putting money into the categories to cover my expenses is satisfying lmao. You can also make a big wish expense category for all the fun shit you want, and fund it whenever you can and then you can see the little bar go up and that's fun.
Anyways I've been using it for like 6+ months now and I think it's really helped me when I use it.

if trop producers are smart, they will give us sauron and galadriel relationship focus in s3.
i insist that it doesn't even matter if the dynamic is explicitly romantic or not, we already saw with s2 that people can read between the lines.
as long as the focus is on their relationship, as long as they interact, and as long as the writers continue doing a great job, people will be invested and more people will join the fandom.
and it's not about shipping for the shipping's sake. mirdania was galadriel's stand-in for sauron, but no one shipped them, people just wanted this whole "flirtation" between the two to be over with.
the point here is that people are invested in the established relationships that they already care about and want to see develop. the show will neither keep the existing fanbase, nor amass the new audiences by abandoning what people are intrigued by the most.
i've heard that a survey was done by amazon, asking random people what they liked and didn't like about s2. but this is not the way to find out what the general audiences would be captured with, and the show needs the mass normie viewership for survival.
the nerds may be demanding some cool magic scene or canon accuracy or a character introduction, but the general audiences want soapy drama, romance, intrigue.
sauron x galadriel is what truly captivates loyal and broad audiences in trop. it would be downright stupid to abandon one of the strongest viewer-attractors of your show.
i doubt that the prime video pays attention to what folks on tumblr say, so plz repeat this on twitter (bc reddit is hostile so we shouldn't risk starting a discourse) until the renewal announcement, make haladriel edits for yt/tiktok/ig, and keep interacting with haladriel-related content.
like, a few days ago the official account reblogged literal haladriel fanart which is good for us, but it would be better if instead of just hearting, more people reblogged it, so that the interaction is higher.

Select Amazon Prime titles will be translated into the Cherokee language soon.
Amazon Prime is teaming up with the Cherokee Nation to dub/subtitle select original Prime video titles into the Cherokee language.
The first production in development is “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” “Cherokee Nation selected ‘The Lord of the Rings’ franchise because of its relatability, popularity, and the level of difficulty inherently included in dubbing its content into Cherokee.
“‘In our efforts to preserve, share and promote our language, Cherokee Nation continually illustrates the importance of immersing both speakers and learners in Cherokee as much as possible, and not just in a classroom,’ Hoskin said. ‘This is the first of many endeavors in what we envision as an incredibly beneficial and long-term relationship with our allies at Amazon. Together, we are making great strides to bring the Cherokee language to a global audience.’”
The first season premiered at the Cherokee Casino Tahlequah on November 9 in coordination with SkasdiCon.
Everyone else will get to enjoy the series in Spring 2025.
Learn more about the translation announcement at The Cherokee Phoenix.

Hello Neil!
I hope you're having a great day! I'm currently still in Switzerland, which doesn't have Amazon Prime 😭 My prime video says Good Omens is not available in my country. Do you happen to know how one may watch it here? (Or maybe someone in the community knows 🤔)
I don't know. But someone may.

EXCLUSIVE: One year ago we told you that a second season of John le Carré adaptation The Night Manager was quietly being developed under the codename Steelworks.
Now, Deadline can reveal that the BBC and new co-pro partner Amazon have gone big on a supercharged two-season order of the thriller, with Tom Hiddleston returning to lead, Hugh Laurie coming back as EP and with a new director in I Hate Suzie’s Georgi Banks-Davies. A third season has also been greenlit. David Farr returns as writer and Stephen Garrett is showrunner.
The Night Manager Season 2 will begin filming later this year and will pick up with Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine eight years after the explosive finale of Season 1, going beyond the original book, which was written by the celebrated British writer in 1993. Additional plot details are being kept under wraps and there is not yet confirmation as to whether EP Laurie’s Richard Roper, who was last seen in the back of a paddy wagon driven by arms buyers who were not best pleased with him, will return to star. Hiddleston will also EP and will discuss in more depth on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Produced by The Ink Factory in association with Character 7, Demarest Films and 127 Wall, and in co-production with Spanish partner Nostromo Pictures, The Night Manager Season 2 was sold to Amazon by Fifth Season. The first was co-produced with AMC.
New director Banks-Davies, a BAFTA-nominee who takes over from Susanne Bier, has credits including I Hate Suzie, Garfield and upcoming Netflix series Kaos.
The Night Manager Season 1 was a huge success, watched by millions and winning multiple BAFTAs, Emmys and Golden Globes including best actor for Hiddleston. Also starring Tom Hollander, Olivia Colman and Elizabeth Debicki, it followed Pine – who ran a luxury hotel in Cairo – as he attempted to infiltrate the inner circle of Roper’s crime syndicate after being hired by Foreign Office task force manager Angela Burr.
The first season was commissioned more than 10 years ago and the show has since been remade in India, lapping the UK version by swiftly having a Season 2 greenlit for Disney+ Hotstar in May last year.
Simon Cornwell and Stephen Cornwell, le Carré’s sons who run The Ink Factory, said Season 1 proved “a landmark moment for the golden era of television – uniting on-screen and behind-the-camera talent at the top of their game – and an audience reception which was beyond our wildest imagining.”
They added: “Revisiting the story of Pine also means going beyond the events of John le Carré’s original work: that is a decision we have not taken lightly, but his compelling characters and the vision David has for their next chapter were irresistible.”
Amazon MGM Studios Head of Television Vernon Sanders said: “We are elated to bring additional seasons of The Night Manager to our Prime Video customers. The combination of terrific source material, the wonderful team at The Ink Factory, a great writer in David Farr, an award-winning director in Georgi Banks-Davies, as well as the talented cast truly make the series the full package.”
Hiddleston said: “The first series of The Night Manager was one of the most creatively fulfilling projects I have ever worked on. The depth, range and complexity of Jonathan Pine was, and remains, a thrilling prospect.”
BBC content boss Charlotte Moore added: “After years of fervent speculation I’m incredibly excited to confirm that The Night Manager is returning to the BBC for two more series.”
The Night Manager series two is created and executive produced by Farr, based on the characters created by le Carré. Additional executive producers include Garrett for Character 7, Banks-Davies, Laurie and Hiddleston; Joe Tsai and Arthur Wang for 127 Wall; Stephen and Simon Cornwell, Michele Wolkoff, and Tessa Inkelaar for The Ink Factory; Adrián Guerra for Nostromo Pictures; William D. Johnson for Demarest Films, Nick Cornwell, Susanne Bier, Chris Rice for Fifth Season and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC.

HUGE PRISMA UPDATE
rai (our national television network) has bought prisma’s distribution rights! this means that the first two seasons will premiere on a public tv channel (rai2) in 2025 for everyone to see. the show will still remain on amazon as well though.
what does this mean for season 3? it doesn’t mean anything yet, as prime still has all the creative rights, but it’s a start. why would rai buy a cancelled show that ends with a cliffhanger if they didn’t intend to continue it?
we are thinking that rai might produce season 3 or co-produce it with prime like they did with other shows!
none of this is confirmed though, which is why we all still have to keep signing our petition (which has become the most signed one in history when it comes to italian tv shows- surprassing skam italia!) and talk about the show. the streaming parties are still going strong (we’re watching s 1 ep 7 in 20 minutes!) and our hashtags still trend on x. we’re switching hashtags every two days (we used #andrearisorio yesterday and today), so i’ll keep you updated). we have to keep showing interest: they need to think of our show as something they should invest on! the mediatic attention we have received has been crazy: we need to keep on fighting!
keep on commenting under all primeit’s posts and share the petition! we’re close to 25k signatures! we go this!
ps: our director, ludovico bessegato, posted an ig story thanking us and saying that everything that has happened this past week has been the most moving thing that ever happened to him and that everyone is really greatful🌈💎
