Oh Yvette.... the thing I really love about her and her desire to bury the dead is that... it's not some solemn duty or job she's been tasked with. It's not something anyone has ordered, asked, or even suggested she do.

It just. Feels right to her. She's decided this is what's important to her and by the gods she's going to do it for as long as she's able.

I feel like she's the kind of person who'd attract the attention of death gods and guardian deities and whatnot... but she'd never quite reach the point of serving one. Because

1) just from a writing standpoint, I really love what it says about her character that this is a mission she's given herself with no external input, and

2) I also love the idea of a gentle god looking at this little woman doing what she can and being like "y'know what? She doesn't need to be entrenched in a more complicated world. She has my blessing and my favor but I'm not going to interfere"

you can have your thoughts and feelings on twilight becoming immortal or having a much longer lifespan or whatever all you want but objectively she will not be alone. for one, celestia and luna retiring doesn't mean they're dead and gone, they will absolutely still be there for twilight and will still help and guide her. secondly cadence is not much older than twilight and will probably rule just as long as her and will be by her side the whole time, along with flurryheart. dragons are confirmed to live thousands of years so spike will be with her for a very long time too. and in the end even if all that's left is twilight, there will always be discord.

i understand that mlp is a series that primarily focuses on the mane six but we see in the show time and time again that their core friendship is not the only important one and i think twilight as the princess of friendship knows that better than anyone. it would obviously be extremely difficult for her to lose her five closest friends but she would not ever be alone.

personally i really love the idea of her becoming the mentor of all the next generation of element holders and making many weird and wacky and interesting and cool new friends along the way. but maybe that's just me lol

Thinking about how now, that I decided to rewatch the cartoons that made my childhood I notice a lot of stuff that I've never seen before

Like little me didn't care about why the character did certain decisions only that that decision helped the bad guy

But like, now I get the emotional complexities of certain situations better and can understand the weight a situation actually holds

It really feels weird to watch something for the first time while being younger than the main characters, and now revisiting the same work but being older than them

i've gotta say it's such a massive pet peeve of mine when people refer to the hephaestus as if it's hera. hera runs the hephaestus, she is connected to the hephaestus, but she existed separately from it before and will exist separately from it after. the hephaestus in some ways functions like an extension of her, though many parts of it are out of her control, and with that in mind i think it's interesting to consider it's maybe the closest thing she's had to a body when discussing embodiment and disability, but it is very much not her body and not a physical representation of her. two different things.

I just read an Eng translation of a PT translation. SO GOOD!! KUKO ANGST!!! All the spiral talk is so funny. Uzumaki flopped so BAT could soar. But it does really feel like season one of BAT's story is at an end and we are truly moving to a new era. Like in the other teams, it feels like Jyushi and Hitoya's plots have been wrapped up for now, and BAT has come full circle.

i love being nonbinary and gen z it truly never would have occurred to me to be as focused on the master becoming missy if it wasn’t mentioned all the time in the show. i don’t think it ever would have occurred to me to even think of it really like. truly. it maybe would have been more notable if i thought michelle gomez wasn’t the perfect fit for the master but she was so she IS the master and the master being a woman now is just a consequence of that to me. its as of note to me as an actors eye color do you understand what im saying?

jack is the one who believes in zodiac signs and astrology. davey is the one who thinks it’s complete bullshit.

but davey is also the one who searches up taurus and cancer zodiac compatibility when he’s first developing his crush on jack, just on the off chance that the stars really do have something to do with his love life. and davey is also the one who is so much of a realist that he thinks jack’s ramblings about star, moon, and sun signs are stupid, but god if he doesn’t love listening. and davey is the one to secretly look through the astrology memes that jack posts to his instagram story, just to learn more insight on how jack sees himself, based on which memes he relates to.

and davey doesn’t believe in astrology. he doesn’t think that the stars can dictate who he loves, how he loves, what he loves- he doesn’t think that his life can be tied to something as lofty as space and birth.

but listening to jack ramble on about it, and realizing that jack believes in this because it helps him make sense out of the world- helps him make sense out of himself- makes davey realize that maybe he can make an exception to the belief.
