chapter 1 is up on ao3!
A hangover. It had to be. There was no other earthly reason for the throbbing head, her impulsive hatred for existence, and the wave of nausea that demanded Big Belly Burger stat.
There was just one problem.
This wasn't her couch. Hell, this wasn’t even… her fingers brushed the ground and met… dirt. Why was there dirt? Why was it so hot? And why - she squinted, blinking and flinching until her eyes adjusted to the brightness - why did this look like a desert?
Lena groaned. It came out like the croak of a sad frog.
Cotton-mouthed, head pounding, and feebly hoping this was a bad VR trip, she curled to sit up. Vertigo would be better than whatever this was. She pressed a sympathetic hand to the bridge of her nose and noticed the maze of red sand lines against the deep burgundy fabric of her three-piece suit. The suit she was wearing the night before. The power-suit she had chosen to increase her confidence for when…
A shiver crawled across her skin. It was as welcome as it was unsettling, though before Lena could think much about that, it was sapped by the sun baking down on her. She closed her eyes though that wasn’t particularly useful at shutting the world out.
“End simulation.”
A beat.
Nothing.
Two beats.
Nothing.
Lena’s itty bitty flicker of hope extinguished. It was a feeble, desperate, aspirational attempt anyway.
She swallowed, feeling an entirely different wave of nausea strike.
Eyes flicked open and scanned the horizon. Face already contorted in a scowl, it quickly deepened.
It was a vast sea of nothing. So much nothing. Not a single cloud interrupted the blanket of sky. Not a single hue contrasted the monochrome palette of reds and orange. Not even the hiss of a reptile rippled across dry, cracked earth. The most interesting thing was the dots of rocks sprinkled across the ground like decorations on the world's driest cupcake. The horizon was cloaked in haze and, if the glistening line of sweat on Lena’s own brow was any indication, it wasn’t the wet kind that brought cleansing rainfall.
Well done, Luthor.
Shaky knees were forced into action, though standing was no more enlightening than sitting. It took a staggering second before she found her balance. For added helplessness, she spun uselessly in a circle to discover everything looked exactly the same in every direction.
The sun hung overhead. Odd how it felt larger in a desert. Lena half-wondered why vultures weren’t also in the sky, circling their next meal.
A meal. She’d give up half her L-Corp shares for a burger. Better yet, she’d give up half her shares for a genie to grant three wishes: a burger, aspirin, and sunglasses. She wasn’t asking for much - just a few simple comforts while she shriveled into nothing.
Hand cupped over her eyes she scowled toward the sky, half-hoping one might suddenly descend from it. And for all her luck, there was something floating. It was a speck, a shadow of something, a rendering error. And it was getting bigger. She hoped it wasn’t something designed to kill her.
It was.
It wasn’t.
“Of course it’s you,” Lena sighed. It was a sigh meant to express her general disgruntlement for her situation, for Supergirl, for life in general. It did its job well. Her arm dropped in defeat.
“Were you expecting someone else?”
The cape. The flowing blonde hair. The hubris.

Shantae: A New Genie Fancast
These are the voices I imagined for the characters in my Shantae fanfic. This includes characters created for the fanfic (like Esmeralda).
Shantae - Cristina Vee (Original Voice)
Mia (NPC) - Tara Strong (Bubbles; The Powerpuff Girls)
The Mayor (Scuttlebutt) - Dan Russell (Richard Waterson; The Amazing World of Gumball)
Mimic - J. K. Simmons (Tenzin; The Legend of Korra)
Risky Boots - Cristina Vee (Original Voice)
Jack / The Pirate Master - Steve Blum (Vilgax; Ben 10 Original Series)
Bolo - Jack DeSana (Sokka; Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Harmony - Kiana Madeira (Kara Zor-El / Supergirl; My Adventures with Superman)
Aaron (Harmony's father) - Mathew Mercer (Jotaro Kujo; JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Emma (Chef Girl) - Eden Sher (Star Butterfly; Star vs. the Forces of Evil)
Serena (Harmony's mother) - Grey Delisle (Rebecca Holiday; Generator Rex)
Ana (Shantae's Mother) - Janet Varney (Korra; The Legend of Korra)
Karnov (Shantae's Father) - Fred Tatasciore (Buff Frog; Star vs the Forces of Evil)
Holly Lingerbean - Kari Wahlgren (Charmcaster; Ben 10: Alien Force)
Sky - Ashley Johnson (Gwen Tennyson; Ben 10: Alien Force)
Rottytops - Brittany Lauda (Foo Fighters; JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Iris / Empress Siren - Nancy Linari (Aunt May; Marvel's Spider-Man (2018))
Vera - Laura Stahl (Bea; Pokémon: Twilight Wings)
Agnes / Angler Fish Siren - Wendie Malick (Eda; The Owl House)
Molly / Coral Siren - Shelby Rabara (Peridot; Steven Universe)
Nora / Lobster Siren - Kira Buckland (Kyoko; River City Girls)
Aja (Vera's mother) - Tiana Camacho (Ermes Costello; JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)
Squid Baron - Tom Kenny (Ice King; Adventure Time)
Young Jack - Steve Blum (Spike Spiegal; Cowboy Bebop)
Cherami - Tara Strong (Truffles; Chowder)
Ignatius / Techno Baron - Tom Kenny (Doctor Octopus; Ultimate Spider-Man)
Genie Queen Esmeralda - Patti LuPone (Yellow Diamond; Steven Universe)
Cristina Vee is too iconic as Shantae and Risky, so I kept her in the role. With Vera, it's pretty funny because it's actually the same actress as before, but I just preferred her Bea voice from Pokemon: Twilight Wings.
I had wanted to go for a creepy feel for Techno Baron, so that's why he's got Ultimate Doc Ock's voice. With the Pirate Master, I wanted to pick an actor who could do a normal guy's voice (before he became the Pirate Master) and an almost demonic sounding voice. So that's why I picked Steve Blum for both versions of him.

My DCCU: Character Essay - Mr. Mxyzptlk
So...did you see the last episode of MAWS?
I just wrote an essay discussing this series, and without making you read that (although here it is if you wanna), let's just say I love almost everything about it, but the villains have me...nervous. Which, yeah, not exactly a unique take on the series, critically speaking. It is, in fact, the most common refrain about the series amongst Superman fans.
Now, since then, to be fair, we've gotten some very promising characters make their debut, or becoming more prominent. Task Force X - which includes Amanda Waller, the General (who's gotta be Sam Lane, but may also take some inspiration from Wade Eiling; time'll tell on that one, though), and a very cool super-armored version of Deathstroke - are our main antagonists, and I'm excited to see what comes out of them. Their former associates, power couple Brain and Monseiur Mallah (who are also gay in the comics, if you didn't know) are a more sympathetic turn on the characters, but quite satisfying in this form.
But no, there's only one real reason I'm making this post. And that is of course, the villain featured in the most recent episode, as of me writing this post. He's already up above, so let's just get into it.
Fun fact about me: I love a lot of Superman villains, but of all of them, my absolute favorite is Mr. Mxyzptlk. He's a mischief-making, chaos-loving, harmless and harmful menace from the 5th dimension, who obeys no laws of the dimensions below. The origin of legends, past and present, of genies, leprechauns, fey, and imps that tease men with ill-fated wishes. An all-powerful being disguised as a man dressed in a funny little hat.
Mr. Mxyzptlk is the Robin Goodfellow of Superman's world. He appears to amuse himself, no matter the cost to the Man of Steel's day. Usually, you can send him back via making him say his own name backwards, but that's just one of the rules to Mxy's games. And make no mistake, that's what they are: games. Mr. Mxyzptlk has played on the side of angels and devils, and he really only cares about his own amusement. And his relationship with Superman, varied as it can be, helps to fuel his morality.
I could bring up the character's live-action appearances (which are notable in their own right), but those are mostly afraid to really go for it. The closest to the original character would be Michael J. Pollard's version in Superboy, a mostly forgotten series from the late'80s, and a version that actually wears the comic book outfit. There's also the Supergirl version, which was notable, and played by Peter Gadiot and Thomas Lemmon; and there's the version played by Howie Mandel (yes, really) in Lois and Clark: The Adventures of Superman in the '90s, which is a more evil but passable version of the character. Oh, and the Smallville version? Yeah, absolutely doesn't count. If you want a true adaptation for Mxy, you gotta go animated.
The most iconic adaptation of this character was portrayed by the late, great Gilbert Gottfried in Superman: The Animated Series. Now, I say the most iconic, but that's probably a bit biased on my part. In my opinion, this is the most fun and accurate version we've seen of the character, taking from his original design for inspiration. An annoying imp that appears every three months, his debut episode in the series, Mxyzpixillated, is one of my favorite episodes of the series, and goes balls-to-the-wall wacky, as you should with Mxyzptlk.
The character had only a few more appearances in the series after his first, but Gottfried's performance was so memorable, he was brought back for multiple incarnations, including the video game DC Universe Online, and the more recent animated series Justice League Action, which would be one of Gottfried's last performances, and therefore his last appearance as the character. He'll be sorely missed for a number of reasons, but the voice he gave to the imp is never going to leave me.
Which brings me to the version of the character we see in MAWS. And yeah, this is obviously a VERY different version of the character, appearance-wise. Outside of the orange and purple color scheme and one other exception, this version has no design similarities with any version of Mxyzptlk, and is obviously very anime-inspired, as is the entire series. I mean, for Chrissakes, the title of the episode is a reference to Ouran High School Host Club. They knew what they were doing.
We meet Mxyzptlk in the middle of a heist, and he already shows his power and prowess by tricking Clark immediately. Amongst a bunch of fantastic DCU references, and a lot of multiverse talk, we eventually stumble upon his actual goal: the reclamation of an ancient artifact stolen from him by the League of Lois Lanes. And that artifact is...his hat. THE hat. And lemme tell ya, I was overjoyed to see that stupid little bowler.
Once he gets it, we get a glimpse of true Mxyzptlk power, as he goes full chaos lord on us. He's eventually defeated through trickery with portals, and NOT through the backwards name gambit. And even then, he's not actually defeated, and returns in the end to annoy his new target: Lois Lane. Yeah. He's haunting LOIS, not Clark. And honestly, I'm...very intrigued.
This Mxyzptlk is, honestly, a faithful version of the character, straight-up. Sure, there are elements missing, and the outfit is completely different, but he also sort of looks like you'd expect an imp or genie to look. Like Alan Moore said in Whatever Happened to the Man of Steel?, why should an extradimensional imp look like a little man in a suit and funny little bowler? I think this works, honestly.
I'm also excited to see him in the future of the series, and see what they do with the character as a result. Mxyzptlk is, as I said earlier, one of my favorites, whether he helps or hurts the Man of Tomorrow. And if I had one complaint, it's that I want him to go wackier. Like, CRAZY. Watch his appearances in Superman: The Animated Series if you haven't, and you'll see what I mean. The potential is quite literally unlimited when it comes to the fifth dimension imp.
But if that's the case...what would I do with Mxyzptlk in my DCCU?
Mr. Mxyzptlk in My DCCU
I would do...not much more than Easter eggs at first. Look, I love Mxyzptlk, but having him as a character in a film or film series is extremely tricky. But instead, Mxyzptlk is both a seen and unseen force in my DCCU, hovering around Superman's world without actually interfering in it directly. Not exactly his bag, I know, but it's a good way to get him to work in a film series. Essentially, I'm turning him into a background character in the first and second films, to be noticed by only the most observant. Disguised as other characters, maybe making odd gestures every now and then as if to manipulate things around him. The ultimate Easter egg character, basically. Until, possibly the very end of the second, or even the third film in the franchise.
Fast forward to the second film's post-credit scene.
A poker game is being played, but we're table level. All we see are the hands and the cards, which get increasingly stranger as the game goes on. Three voices are speaking, and we get the immediate idea that these people are watching our heroes. Eventually, a fourth voice juts in, and we also find out that a fifth one of them has been invited, but chose not to attend. Finally, we pan up, and we see...some dude.
This guy, whoever they are, should've been a face we've seen in the first and second films, usually hanging around the Daily Planet, but also around Metropolis. In fact, they should be visible in every conflict or battle seen in the films thus far. As we look at the others, we should see similar figures that've appeared in Batman, Wonder Woman, and Flash films that've come put by this point. All extras, and all watching our heroes. In fact, it'd be great if the Flash-focused person hasn't appeared yet, because the Flash's film releases after this one.
Finally, as we pan back around to the Superman-focused character, who is smoking a cigar, the conversation turns to what's coming. Mxyzptlk is aware of what's coming for Superman, but the rest refer to "the first Crisis". Mxyzptlk sort of brushes it off, even as they're saying things that hint at the first big even film to come in the DCCU. And these should be vague yet intriguing clues to this event. But Mxyzptlk insists that his guy'll be prepared, and that he has a lot of money riding on that outcome. With that, the mysterious figure looks directly at the camera.
Yeah, realizing that we're peering in on the game, he probably berates the nerds in the audience for knowing who he is without it being said (possibly by turning into a more comic-accurate version of himself) , then confirms that he'll be back in the next one, but not as the big threat. Maybe he'll be there to help, maybe not; depends on his mood that day. After a few more snarky remarks, he gives us a look and tells us to buzz off. We may even get a glimpse at the other imps in the room, those being Bat-Mite, Wondermite, and Mopee. And with that, he snaps his fingers, and the film ends officially.
Yeah, I basically pulled an Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to bring in Mxyzptlk. And, since that scene is one of the best of the film, I don't think that's a problem! In the next film, we know what Mxyzptlk's identity looks like, and he may even give us a wave from the background in his first appearance in the next film. He won't interfere directly, but in the last post-credits scene of this trilogy, he'll finally get caught by Superman. Over time, Superman's had some experience with magic users, probably via Wonder Woman. And magic, in my universe, has a distinctive smell of some kind.
Knowing that Mxyzptlk's been watching him throughout the films, Clark finally confronts him on it, and asks what he wants. And Mxyzptlk actually replies and shows himself, explaining that the battles to come are pretty intense. He won't help or harm, but he just wanted to give a heads-up, mostly because it's fun. With that and a bit more conversation, Mxyzptlk leaves having given this ominous warning.
Does he return? Maybe during a Crisis on Infinite Earths movie, maybe in the Darkseid-based Justice League film to come, who knows? This version of the character is basically a Watcher, maybe throwing in some fun chaos here and there. It's sort of hard to add Mxyzptlk into a film series, because he's not a plotter. He's an all-powerful one-off character who, were he to be introduced as a genuine threat to the films, could just kill Superman immediately. It wouldn't make sense. So, make him neutrally bent, and keep him as a fun Easter egg character.
That take may be disappointing to some, but...like, c'mon, guys, he's a pretty big gun. Having him as the ultimate threat of a film also wouldn't make it very fun, because we don't want to see him get killed, but he also can't really win. It'd just be unsatisfying. I like the idea of making him this greater, scarier presence, while also making all of the imps these all-powerful observant beings that watch over our plane with fascination and/or reverence. And maybe, just maybe, we can squeeze some mischief in there somewhere.
Any other ideas on how you would introduce Mr. Mxyzptlk to a cinematic universe (if you should at all)? Reblog! Comment! I'm extremely curious, frankly. This was one of, like, three ideas I had, but the one I thought worked best.

You ever have one of those ideas that you know is a strong start to a story but you don't know if you'll EVER do anything more with it?
Yeah this is one of those ideas. There's so much promise with these two scenes but I have NO idea where to go with them from here! So hope you just enjoy being teased!
******
Morning at Monster High brought with it a hustle and bustle of students moving throughout the hallways to get to their classes on time. Students such as Frankie Stein who was rummaging through her locker for the right books for her next class. As she did so she was approached by her best ghoulfriends, Draculaura and Clawdeen Wolf.
“Hey Frankie! Ready for class?” Draculaura asked.
“Almost, I just need to get my clawculous book,” Frankie replied.
“I just hope today’s going to be a normal day,” Clawdeen scoffed.
“What do you mean?” Draculaura asked.
“Think about it, ghoul! We’ve had to deal with genies, aliens, voice stealing crystals and a Kraken! Just to name a few things! I’m ready for this scaremester to be nice and boring.”
“Wow, when you put it like that we really have been through a lot!” Draculaura remarked.
“Which means this should be a boring scaremester cause what else could go wrong?” Frankie joked.
“Don’t say that! You’re gonna jinx us!” Clawdeen warned.
“Oh come on, don’t tell me you actually believe in that stuff?!”
Suddenly the school shook as a loud explosion was heard coming from the courtyard out front.
“You were saying?” Clawdeen snarked before she, Draculaura, Frankie and a bunch of other students ran outside.
Once they reached the steps of the front entryway, they found a large smoking crater where half the courtyard used to be. As the smoke started to clear, they could make out a figure lying in the middle of the giant hole. She looked like a blonde human girl wearing a blue shirt, red skirt and a red…cape? She let out a soft, pained moan as she started to stir before she floated up into the air, revealing a red and yellow “S” symbol on the front of her shirt. She rubbed her forehead as she regained her senses. She looked over at the collection of monsters all staring at her and smiled nervously.
“Um…hi?” she said sheepishly.
“Hello…flying normie girl,” Draculaura replied awkwardly. “Are you…okay?”
“I…think so? I just…need to find out where I am.”
“How about we start with who are you?” Clawdeen insisted.
“Oh right. You can call me, Supergirl.”

Morning at Ever After High brought with it the hustle and bustle of students trying to get to their classes on time. That was except for Apple White, who merely stood in front of her open locker and stared at an old picture of her and Daring Charming. It was taken only a few months ago but it felt like a lifetime ago. Before she accidently freed the Evil Queen. Before she bit into that poison apple. Before…
“Hey…Apple?”
The voice brought her out of her stupor with a start and she turned to see Raven Queen standing before her.
“You okay?” she asked.
“Oh, I’m fine,” Apple tried to line. “I was just…looking for one of my text books.”
“Uh huh,” Raven nodded, unconvinced. She then noticed the photo. “Sooooo…things still awkward between you and Daring?”
“Yeah,” she sighed.
“And…what about you and Darling?”
Apple reflectively touched her lips at mention of the other girl’s name. Darling Charming. The Charming that actually woke her from her enchanted slumber with a kiss.
“That’s…complicated,” she muttered.
“It doesn’t have to be,” Raven said, placing a comforting hand on her friend’s shoulder.
Before Apple could respond, the school shook as a loud explosion was heard just outside.
“What was that?!” Raven shouted in surprise.
She, Apple, and some other students ran towards the front entrance of the school. Once they reached the front steps they found a giant, smoking crater in the front courtyard. As the smoke began to clear they could make out a figure lying in the middle of the giant hole. She was wearing a red shirt with gold armor shoulder pads and a pair of blue pants with stars down the sides and red boots. She let out a soft, pained groan as she stood up and brushed some of the black hair from her face to reveal a gold tiara with a red star in the center.
“Um…hello? Are you alright?” Apple asked as she cautiously approached the newcomer.
“I…think so. I just need to figure out where I am,” she replied.
“Maybe you could start with telling us who you are,” Raven suggested.
“My name is Diana, Princess of Themyscira. But you can call me, Wonder Woman.”

Heart of Steel- Genie would be way too OP to be a fully-active party member in KH1. So, from a Watsonian perspective, he would be "I'll chill here until you need me," and the rest of the group would prefer to do things by their own merits as opposed to relying on the nigh-omniscient spirit to do all the legwork. Even Kara (Supergirl, Sora's adopted sister) doesn't clear the room all by herself so that Sora, Donald and Goofy can do things themselves, even when they aren't dealing with spellcasters and Kryptonite that can breach her invulnerability and poison her with its presence, respectively.
Genie would be brought out for some fights, engage in some downtime conversations, and help out in the final boss along with the other Summons (even Bambi, who will get a boost from his canon abilities). I'm thinking of also having him guard the Gummi Ship while everyone is working on escaping Captain Hook's ship and having a conversation with Merlin and Fairy Godmother. Also participating in retaking Hollow Bastion, which will be a much larger-scale endeavor than in the game.
Honestly yeah even just having him there to add color comentary is fun!

Mr. and Mr. Mxyzptlk
Summary: After being sent back to the fifth dimension, Mr. Mxyzptlk manages to go back to Earth, still not happy that Kara Zor-El hadn't married him. His mission is still the same, marry Kara, but maybe...he will find someone else to bother, maybe the ring will end up in someone else's hand
(A/N): Told you guys I was going to do it, it was meant for my OC Damian, so the Male!Reader is a little OC oops. This is more for me than for you guys so if you don’t like I understand :D I just had to do it
Words: 2254
Warning: Swearing
The day was being very boring, Supergirl was taking care of all the thief leaving nothing to you. Can the girl take a break and let you punch the bad guys?.
You knew that she didn’t want you to “take care” of them because eventually, they would end up 8 feet underground, which for you it is good but she has that weird rule of “not killing , you knew that it was just matter of time before that changes, meanwhile, you just had to be more gentle with your punches.
“there you are, I was looking for you” Supergirl appear in front of you. you looked up to the sky seeing the Red cape.
“for what reason Supergirl would need me?” You said, a little harsher than intended
“why are you angry?” She asks, walking to you. You walk to her.
“you’re taking care of all the bad guys! I’m boooored~”
“then go to the D.E.O and I don’t know, trained with Mon-El-”
“ugh! I hate that guy, and he punches like a fly, I’m going to crush him”
“Y/N-”
“I won’t kill them Kara, just let me do some justice-” You beg her, but she sends you a glare.them Kara, just let me do some justice-” You beg her, but she sends you a glare.
“you have a very twisted kind of justice!”
“it’s the best kind of justice! because once that they’re gone, they never get the chance to come back and do more harm to innocent people!” You said, as calm as you can.
“that’s not the way a hero would do justice” she said, her head held high, with a sort of proud in her words.
“Luckily I’m not the hero here” You said, walking away from her, but knowing her, she would not let you go that easily.
“Y/N-” Supergirl couldn’t finish her sentence, a light blue mist appears a few feets from you, and a man came out of it.
“is he bothering you love? I can make him disappear in a second!” He said, with a funny accent, he was a little energetic, but pretty charming with that stupid grin on his face. You noticed Supergirl flinch at his presence, maybe he’s not that charming.
“oh no”
“oh yeah~” The guy said, smiling at her.
“who the fuck are you? who the fuck is he?” You said, your tone was disinterested.
“I’m Mxyzptlk, Kara’s future husband, and who are you?” He said, walking to you, trying to inspect you. The man was just a few centimeters away from you, yeah….he is cute.
“I’m Y/N-” You started saying, but Supergirl got in between you two, pushing the other man away from you.
“don’t talk with him!” She said hitting your arm.
“Auch! , why not?”
“Yeah why not? I want to meet the guy, see if he’s a threat! another rival-” You were quick to realize that he was thinking that you and Kara are together. Kara and you frowned at this.
“Is he really thinking that we’re a thing?!”
“We’re not a thing!” Kara said.
“That’s splendid! who’s him then? a friend? should I gain his trust in order to gain your love buttercup?”
“Oh god, you’re a stalker? , is he the stalker? Alex told me about him, do you want me to make him go away?” You said to Kara, when she heard the last part she frantically shakes her head in disagreement.
“No no no! no killing!”
“I didn’t say I was going to kill him!”
“But that’s the first thing that you think!” She said, pointing at you with her accusing finger
“I’m not some kind of serial killer Kara!”
“uh I see, you’re giving more attention to him than to me...I don’t like you!” The cute guy said.
“Yeah? well I don’t like you either so I’m going to go, I’m sure you can take care of him Kara”
“We haven’t finished talking Y/N-” Kara said, following you, just like when Mon-El does something stupid, and She has to give him a huge lecture.
“wait! , no fight? there’s no honorable fight for Kara’s love!?” Mr Unpronounceable-Name said.
“She can take care of herself and I have better things to do” You said ready to jump down the building, disappearing on the streets.
“like what?!, what is more important than Kara Zor-El???” The cute men said dramatically.
“Me, and the fact that she’s going to be busy with you so I can fight the bad guys” Kara gasps at this.
“Y/N if I caught you-”
“You have bigger problems to deal with, see ya Supergirl~”
“If Kara would find out about this, she will kick your ass, and you would end up in a cell, and I don’t want to see a friend in a cell” Maggie said, finishing putting some handcuffs to the last bad guys from a group of thugs that you found in an alley and followed to a bar, the group was well known on the block for having fun with kids, that goes to selling them drugs, to even harassing them, you made sure to stop that, and give them a proper punishment, a few survive...others, well, they were too weak, not that it matters to you.
“but you’re my friend so…” You said, sending her a sad puppy face, but it clearly was not going to work, your face was way too fucked up for that to work, blood everywhere, but Maggie smiled at you anyway.
“...I won’t tell her, but Alex will probably find out-”
“can you kiss her or bat your eyelashes at her?”
“that does not always work sweetheart..”
“...he’s a pedophile-” You said, pointing at the guy dead on the floor.
“I know, but killing is not okay-”
“and that other one was selling drugs to the kids, that one punches her wife, and the last one over there without his face, had been abusing a girl for the past week...” You said, more serious now.
“..it’s still not okay” Maggie said, sending you a sad smile. She knows that it’s really hard for you to get used to the Danvers duo rules, the no-killing one being the hardest of all.
“I really don’t understand you people” You said.
“me either” The genie guy appears beside you.
“what the hell are you doing here!” You said jumping at the sudden strange voice behind you.
“don’t move!” Maggie aims her gun at the man that was smiling charmingly at her.
“I came here looking for you big guy! I need an advice” He said, giving a little pat on your arm
“a what?” You said glaring at him.
“don’t move! Y/N get away from him he’s dangerous!” Maggie said, already knowing the whole story that involves Kara almost blowing The Fortress of Solitude with both of them inside.
“he doesn’t seem so dangerous to me” You said, eyeing the cute guy, he was wearing a suit and tie, his hair is all fluffy and probably soft, like come on! you had fought things like look way more dangerous than him. But Alex Danvers had also given you that impression after seeing her so soft around Maggie, but you changed your mind once she pinned you against a wall just because you called Kara weak.
“yeah, I’m really soft sometimes~” Mxyzptlk said, smiling once again
“Y/L/N I’m serious-”
“Why do you want and advice from me? I’m not very good at giving those” You said, ignoring Maggie’s protests
“You’re Kara’s friend right?”
“I think I’m far from a friend” You said folding your arms. Maggie sending you a frown.
“but you know her! you must know a way for me to conquer her heart” He said desperate
“dude, you can’t expect to appear magically on earth with a ring for her and basically obliged her to marry you, that’s not attractive or whatever” Mxyzptlk sighs at your words. You saw Maggie talking on her phone, probably calling Alex for help.
“but what does she want?! I can give her everything-”
“she wants you to leave her alone-”
“Y/N, I already called the D.E.O-”
“you talked too much, go back with your agent friends” With a flick of his wrist, your friend was gone.
“where did you sent her?!” You said, pointing your gun at the men.
“don’t worry she’s in the D.E.O” He waves his hand at you, like it didn’t care the fact that Maggie is not there with you anymore.
“dude, see? this is the kind of things that makes everyone want to punch you in the face, especially Kara, because you’re messing with her friends” You say, sitting by the bar, forgetting about the bodies lying around, your hands reaching for the bottle of whiskey.
“but you’re not a friend” He said
“I will snap your neck if you keep talking” You said, taking a sip from the bottle of whiskey, wincing when the cold glass touched your bloody lip.
“uh feisty~ I changed my mind I like you” He said, sitting by your side.
“I still don’t”
“come on! you have to tell me what to do, I’m a gentleman and sensitive, not to mention breathtakingly beautiful, what else is Kara looking for?!” He grabbed the bottle taking a swing.
“boobs”
“what?!” He choked on the whiskey
“boobs, she likes boobs, raven hair, preferably called lena and that their last name is Luthor, oh and you would have to be a girl, also, how you could possibly be as breathtakingly beautiful as her???-” You said, remembering that Kara was crushing hard on the Luthor.
“she likes girls?!”
“ha! it took you quite the time to noticed it fro someone that see through dimensions ”
“b-but and Mon-El??”
“He’s story...thank god”
“but I love her” he said, resting his chin on the table.
“Well, she doesn’t, and you would not like to be with someone that doesn’t love you, you will have to wait for the right one, plus you’re just crushing on her, it will pass, try to focus on other things to forget about her, believe me, what you have is more an obsession than love, and if you don’t get rid of it, Kara will kill you-oh wait, scratch that, she will kill herself, you’re pretty annoying” You said, not knowing what to do. It was an awkward situation, advising Kara’s stalker to get over her.
“well, she already tried it once so...maybe you’re right my friend” He said, patting your back and smiling at you.
“oh no no no , I’m not your-”
“we should go to have some fun! I know that you’re a vigilante, and that you know how to stop the bad guys, let me help you” He said, his energetic personality coming back.
“hmm I don’t know-” You were protesting, but with a flick of his wrist, your wounds and the bodies laying around disappear.
“see? I can help!”
“Still I think that-” You were going to decline his offer, even though he could really help you a lot, but The blonde with the red cape came crushing the door open
“Y/N! are you okay?” She said, rushing to you.
“of course he’s okay dear, don’t worry we were just having a friendly conversation” Mxyzptlk said, appearing beside you.
“did he hurt you?” Kara said, glaring at the Genie.
“I’m fine, I can take care of myself Kara, and in fact, we were actually having a friendly conversation”
“about what?” She asks
“you my dear” The Genie said, walking to her
“can you just leave? I told you I don’t want to marry y-” Kara starts her speech, not knowing how many times she had told him to leave.
“I understand” Kara looks at him, not believing his words
“you do?” Mxyzptlk nods
“yes, my friend here Y/N had made me change my mind”
“I did?” You asked, with the same face as Kara
“yes, and maybe he’s right, the best for me is forget about you and move on”
“o-okay, I mean, awesome!” Kara said, smiling happily
“yeah, good for you dude” You said, giving him a weird pat on his back
“in the meantime, I’ll stay here on this earth, helping my new friend-”
“you’re going to stay?!”
“to bother me now?”
“oh don’t worry, I’ll be here just when you call me, I won’t btoher you , consider it a gift for helping me out, just said my name-” You snort
“that’s going to be impossible” Kara tried not to laugh.
“it’s easy, Mxyzptlk-”
“Mx-what?”
“Mxyz-ptlz” He said, spelling his name slowly
“I’m going to call you Genie” He shrugs
“okay! , just call me and I’ll be there, for any occasion, even if you need someone to disappear like the guys that were lying-” You tried to shut him up but it was too late
“shh shut up!”
“-here dead”
“dead guys?! Y/N YOU DIDN’T?!” Kara was rushing to you, her angry face making you feel tiny as an ant.
“GENIE HELP” You scream, hiding behind the Genie
“as you wish!” And with that Supergirl disappeared
“ha! she disappeared!”
“like I said, just call me big guy, and I’ll be there” he disappeared after that, leaving you alone in the destroyed bar.
“...what a crazy night”
Oops turns out that I really like this guy..like...a lot?

Next up on the DC Superhero Girls line up is Supergirl (Kara Danvers). I ended up making two versions of this with the second one suggested by my friend @ironbar36. I had fun drawing her including giving her a flexing pose which I haven't done much with female characters. DC Superhero Girls belongs to DC comics and Lauren Faust. As always, comments and critiques are welcome.
Edit: I added a third version with a fez

The Canon Muse List of Of Darkest Desires and Darkest Desires Erotica
So many people have been asking about this...for years now. I specifically don't list the canon characters that I write for because that list is lengthy, and changes with the wind and my personal muse. However, since it is a new year, I suppose it's time we did a full canon character list for this blog. And, as an added note, I will also add at the end of each section notable OC muses that belong to these specific worlds.
Quick key before we get to the list, though: if a character is one of my favorites, they will be bolded and colored. If a character can be written genderswapped, they will be italicized. If a character is written non-canonically, they will be struck-through.

E, Z, R and A for the fandom ask meme!! (and if you're taking requests, would you ramble about Tangled: The Series and all the reasons I should watch it? I'd really like to, but I wouldn't mind some motivation!
Okay so yes! I'll probably talk about quite a few different fandoms here, but I'll list each one before I go off!
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what?
Star Wars- Our beloved PAULGARY, Darth Maul's twin brother who formed from Darth Maul's legs after he was chopped in half, in a way akin to a starfish. He's just a regular moisture farmer and has tea with Obi-Wan quite often :) I also started the "Does Darth Maul Wear Shoes" debate, a little thing that happened a while back that I don't know all the details for but yeah. It was a thing.
Tangled- I'm the reason we now think Stalyan's mom is Rapunzel's aunt Willow. Also Eugene can see into the future when he's high? That was me.
Newsies- Who's Whosies was a Newsies thing where we just... posted pictures of our favorite newsies but gave them different (and very funny) names. I came up with it because we needed a new newsies meme and I thought "oh yeah. This is dumb. Perfect."
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (prompts optional but encouraged)
Tangled- Why you should watch Tangled The Series-
If nothing else, you should watch Tangled because Rapunzel and Eugene (and don't even think about calling him Flynn anymore nope) are couple goals. Hands down. He loves her completely and totally and respects her so much and they show a relationship in this show really well. Usually the media depicts two people when they fall in love and then bam marriage and bam now we're off to the story of their kids or bam they're divorced or bam one of them dies but Tangled? Tangled says "here's this couple let's show the viewers what that really means." And sometimes they don't see eye to eye and sometimes they get into fights and sometimes they have to learn to trust each other more and sometimes compromises have to happen and this show shows that on a few occasions and it's not really portrayed as "we have a problem so now we don't like each other," but it's more like "i love this person so how can I help them work out this problem," for better or worse.
Another reason to watch Tangled is the new characters they've added. Cassandra, Varian, and Lance are all really awesome characters and unless you watch the series you don't even get to know about them. You've got the captain of the guard's adopted daughter who's now Rapunzel's handmaiden and best friend and who can also totally kick your butt and has a lot of banter and salt with Eugene. You've got a fourteen year old kid with freckles and a pet raccoon and dadsy issues and he loves to do science and is Eugene's biggest fan and he gets a really cool character arc. You've got Eugene's childhood best friend who comes back into his life and serves as comic relief, but also as a caring friend in their gang. And let's not forget Hookfoot (Hookhand's brother) Aunt Willow (The Queen's sister who wears pants and has bare feet and a free spirit,) Angry and Red (two orphan thieves who Lance and Eugene help rehabilitate) and Adira (awesome lady with sword!)
But let me jump back to the first three- Cassandra, Varian, and Lance. Cass is voiced by Eden Espinosa, who understudied for Idina Menzel in Wicked. Varian is voiced by the beloved Jeremy Jordan, famous for Newsies, Bonnie and Clyde, Supergirl, and Little Shop Of Horrors. Lance is voiced by James Monroe Inglehart, who played the genie in Broadway's Aladdin. They chose three professional broadway actors to play these roles- and it shows, because there's so, so, so many jaw-dropping new songs in this show. Do you want some fun upbeat thugs? You got it! Daddy Issues and Daddy Issues- The Reprise? Got it! Identity crisis? Got at least three of those! Moral Ambiguity? Take your pick. Heartfelt friendship? You got it! Catchy villain song? More than just catchy- iconic.
Also, this show is nice, because what starts at first like a happy little domestic au turns into an incredible journey, a story of twists and turns and destinies. It shows the characters as they develop and set out to unravel a mystery and save the world. And while this show has some filler episodes that are heartfelt or at times childish, it also has some really deep and sometimes dark stuff. Black magic? All over the place. Betrayals? Everywhere. Trauma? Yup. So, so, so much stuff happens that feels so much heavier than the gravitous usually given to a disney princess show.
Lastly, watch it because Pascal is a hero and saves the day single handedly at least seven times and that's always a delight :)
R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships:
Once Upon A Time- I'M NOT DONE WITH THE SHOW SO I DON'T INTERACT WITH THE FANDOM ON HERE BECAUSE I REALLY HATE SPOILERS but I think we were robbed because we didn't even get to see a friendship between Graham and Ruby. In the storybook land they were taken from, Graham is the huntsman, and in his backstory he was raised by wolves. He loves animals, and when he hunts, he even apologizes to and thanks his kill, because he's sad that it had to die. Then he goes into a pub and kills a couple guys without remorse because people are bad but animals aren't even capable of badness so why do they deserve to die?
Ruby is little red riding hood, and her backstory is one where there's these werewolves that come every month and grandma won't ever let her leave the house cuz she's overprotective or whatever but then we find out that it's because Red is the werewolf, and their werewolf is very wolflike, like a regular old wolf but more deadly, and I think Graham and Ruby would've been wolf buddies- Ruby sometimes seems to wish she was raised with people like her who understood her, raised with wolves, and Graham would be the first person to hear that she's a werewolf and go "are you kidding me? You're a wolf? That's the coolest thing ever I love wolves what's it like to be a wolf that's so wonderful tell me everything." I don't know if this is actually a ship no one else ships or not, but I'm obsessed with this concept and can't wait to write about it eventually.
A - Your current OTP(s)/OT3(s)/OTX(s)
Okay, so we got Hook and Emma from Once Upon a Time, we got Will and Elizabeth from Pirates of the Caribbean, we got Eugene and Rapunzel from Tangled... I'm noticing a pattern, a "dark haired pirate/thief is an absolute simp for his capable girlboss girlfriend"
Thanks for the ask! It was much appreciated!

Super-Sizing the Superfamily: A DC Comics Storybuilding Project
So, on a forum I post on, we’ve been working on a storybuilding project. To wit, we plan to envision a selection of Superman and related comic books, if the Superman family was allowed to be even bigger than the Batman family, with multiple Superboys and Supergirls, as well as various other characters. To this end, we are be using multiple different versions of some characters, as well as occasionally decompositing existing characters.
At the bare minimum, I'd like to come up with a set of Superman Family titles (not everyone gets their own book, of course), and plot out a year of storylines, culminating in a Superman Family Crossover. Ideally we'd go beyond that as well, but given how ambitious that goal is, I'm not holding my breath.
The project has hit a bit of a wall ATM, so I figured now was as good a time as any to post what we’ve got so far on Tumblr. With his permission, I am tagging @davidmann95, the Internet’s Premier Supermanologist, to get his opinion, but anyone is free to comment or make suggestions.
We begin with... The "Core" Super-fam. Note that this is not an exhaustive list of characters appearing in this thing: -Clark (Superman) -Lois -Jon (Superboy Blue?) -Chris (Superboy Red?) -Kon (Kid Cadmus) (decomposite, based on original, Jacket version) -Conner (?) (decomposite, based on later, Geoff Johns/YJ version) -Kara Zor-El I AKA Zara (Supernova) (decomposite Modern Supergirl , based on TV Show version) -Kara Nim-El AKA Nara (Supergirl) (Variation on Silver Age Supergirl)* -Kara In-Ze AKA Iara (Blue Bombshell) (DCAU Supergirl)** -Kara Zor-El II AKA Tara (Miss Metropolis) (decomposite Modern Supergirl, based on "Cheerleader" version)*** -"Cir-El" (Tomorrow Girl) -Mae (Matrix) (I'm gonna say that for our purposes, she managed to come back after being separated from Linda) -Linda (Mighty Maid) (as per the post-Earth-Angel part of PAD's comic, with the Earth-Angel thing being backstory which we will leave vague) -Kristen (Superwoman) -Karen (Power Girl)**** -Mon-El (?) -"Uncle Carl" (decomposite Bizarro. Imperfect clone, somewhat "cured") -Bizarro #1 (decomposite, Imperfect duplicate, lives on Htrae, etc.) -Jimmy -Perry -Lucy -Kenan (New Super-Man) -John Henry (Steel) -Natasha (Steel? Starlight?) -Lana -Krypto -Streaky -Ma and Pa (I've seen good arguments for one or both of them being deceased by the modern-era...but I'm including them anyways) Possible members: -Lori Lemaris -Luma Lynai -Marvel Maid and Marvel Man -Vartox -Strange Visitor -Sally Selwyn -Lyla Ler-Rol -Thara Ak-Var -Alpha Centurion -More I'm not thinking of.
*In the Silver Age, Jor-El had two brothers, his younger brother Zor, Kara's dad, and his twin Nim-El. We are making this Kara daughter of the former rather than the latter, born on Argo City, which survived the destruction of Krypton, named for her presumed dead cousin, sent to Earth when the systems keeping the city alive began to fail. **Keeping mostly the S:TAS backstory, with the caveats that the people of Argos were Kryptonian colonists, not a separate species, and that she's a relative of Zor-El's wife Alura In-Ze, with "Kara" and "In-Ze" being common family names. ***Something her ship encountered on her journey to Earth created a duplicate that took even longer to arrive, and was the subject of the previous Superfam crossover. ****The original "Super Girl", magically created by Jimmy wishing into existence a perfect mate for Superman.
Next, The Superfam books and casts thereof (not distinguishing between main, supporting, and recurring characters) (no villains as of yet. Mostly)
-Action Comics: Anthology title, each issue spotlighting different members of the Super-Fam.
No specific cast.
-Superman: Duh.
Somehow, I don't think we've specifically cast this one.
-Lois Lane: Again, duh. Serious journalism, with occasional Wacky Hijinks.
Lois
Clark
Perry
Jimmy
Lucy
Gen. Lane
Lex's administrative staff (Mercy, Ms. Tesmacher, the Loisbot, etc.), whom she is “casually bitchy” with
As-Yet-Unselected-Police-Contact
Bibbo
-Jimmy Olsen: Third verse, same as the first.
Jimmy
The Planet staff
Iara (who he's dating; superspeed makes long =-distance relationships easy)
The New Newsboys (Famous Bobbie included)
Scorn
Ashbury
Misa
-Power Girl: Ditto.
Karen
Atlee
Hiro
Mae
-Cadmus: Again. We're basing this mostly on the bit of Kon's '90s book when he was hanging out on Cadmus, with the caveat that the Hairies moved the Wild Area (and thus the whole damn Project) to a pocket dimension with entrance termini in a number of different locations, including, but not limited to, Metropolis, Honolulu, the Un-Men reservation in Louisiana, and wherever the Justice League of China is headquartered.
Kon
Golden Guardian
The OG now-adult Newsboy Legion
The New Newsboys (Famous Bobbie included)
Dubbilex
Tana
Roxy
Serling
Tekka
Kenan and the JLC
Mickey Cannon
Sam Makoa?
Prince Tuftan and friends
-Adventure Comics: Stories about Conner, Iara, and Tara hanging around Smallville; inspired largely by Kon's late '00s title. Back-up feature is stories about Clark's Superboy years.
Conner
Iara
Tara
Lori Luthor
Lena Luthor I
Ma
Pa
Simon Valentine
Psionic Lad
Lana
Loretta "Golden Genie" York (the character formerly known as the Yellow Peri)
-Sons of Superman: Starring Jon and Chris.
Chris
Jon
Lois
Clark
Beacon
Jor-El AI
Kelex
Ma & Pa
Lucy
Kon
Conner
Kristin
-Planet Comics: About the adventures of the Daily Planet crew in general. Workplace comedy, Clark keeps the glasses on, mostly.
Perry
Lois
Clark
Jimmy
Cat
Steve Lombard
Ron Troupe
Dirk Armstrong
Angela Chen
(I'd like to feature more of the various folks who've been shown working for the Planet over the years)
-Streets of Metropolis: Comparatively gritty stories about battling street-level crime, starring Gangbuster, Black Lighting and fam, and the MPD.
Jeff
Anissa
Jennifer
Lynn
Gangbuster (let's face it, most of y'all wouldn't recognize his real name)
Maggie
Turpin
Henderson
Leocadio
-National Comics (alt. title: Supernova and the DEO): Zara's adventures trying to make it on her own in National City, whilst helping Alex and the DEO.
Zara
Tara (commuting from Smallville)
Linda
Mon-El
Alex
Director Bones (standing in for the show’s version of J’onn, though the relationship is *probably* less familial)
Cameron Chase?
Winn
Simone D'Neige (standing in for the show’s version of Cat Grant)
Lena Luthor II (standing in for the show’s version of her aunt; we’re assuming that she stayed aged up after being de-Brainiaced)
Dreamer
-Steel and the Girls of Steel (need a better title): Starring John Henry, Natasha, Cir-El, and Traci 13.
John
Henry
Natasha
“Boris”
Cir-El
Mia (i’m counting Cir-El and her alter ego as separate characters)
Traci 13
The Supermen of America (a team, including Super-Chief and “Iron” Munro, inspired by Superman’s example, that John Henry is training)
-Nightwing and Flamebird. Adventures in the Bottle City of Kandor, which is majority Kryptonian but has a sizable population of other species. Despite the title, the eponymous duo are not the protagonists, but rather an ordinary citizen who’s taken it upon themselves to unravel the mystery of their secret identity (the truth is that an assortment of people take turns at wearing those costumes)
?
-Superman Family. Anthology title, with each issues featuring a team-up between Clark and another member of the Superfam.
No specific cast
There are a few other odds and sods here and there, but that’s most of it, asides from the fact we’ve decided to costume the Supergirls thusly:
-Karen, of course, wears the Power Girl costume. -Cir-El has a distinct costume already. -Linda is rocking the DCSHG look.* -Iara has her S:TAS look.* -I wanna say Nara's wearing one of the Bronze Age-era outfits, but they might be too '70s to really work? -Mae is wearing a somewhat sexier version of the classic look (I'm imagining she's the second-most vavavoom-y of the Supergirls after Karen). -Zara I is wearing the second TV show suit with the pants. -Zara II (Tara?) is wearing the Jim Lee cheerleader outfit. Note: despite both being a miniskirt and bellyshirt, her outfit is notably skimpier than Iara's, with a shorter, lower slung skirt, and a tighter top with...what's the right way of saying there's less of it? This is her deliberately distinguishing herself from her older duplicate's more modest look. *May switch these, IDK.

Ariella’s first Supergirl costume, which really resembled her mom’s Superwoman costume, consisted of a sleeveless, free-flowing dress with a red ‘S’ shield on Ari’s chest that is connected to the rest of her collar and cape, which was also easily detachable and attachable to Rel’s dress, a white midriff, and a blue skirt, a pair of red gloves, white stockings, and a pair of white, slip-on shoes.
Rel's confident, carefree, optimistic and enthusiastic, bordering on reckless because of her rather sheltered upbringing, as she says and does what she wants whenever she wants, and does not care what others would think of her as she says and does what she says and does.
Ari's also extremely extroverted, almost always making a dramatic entrance, thanks to her time in the drama club, and excitedly hanging out with her friends and family whenever she gets the chance to.
Ariella would almost always draw and doodle anything and everything she had in mind on any and all surfaces she could find such as her mom and dad’s face, arms, legs, their things, such as their mugs and bowls, the walls and floors of their house, the rooms and hallways of the Fortress of Solitude, ect.
Sometimes she would get scolded, sometimes she wouldn’t, as her mom and dad were way too endeared by some of her drawings and doodles, usually wholesome and heartwarming drawings of her and her friends and family.
Whenever her dad was working on his experiments or on his writing, Rel would try to help him out from time to time with whatever he was working on but the thing was that she had absolutely no clue what she was doing. So she’d sit on his lap while he worked on paperwork and used her pencils, crayons, markers, and her own papers to pretend that she was working on something like he had been.
When her dad would ask what she was working on she’d say paperwork while either making paper figures or drawing doodles with very bright crayons. And the most he would do was pat Ari on the back as his chest filled with the warmth and tears formed in his eyes, even as he’d have a serious meeting with the JLA while having his little girl sit on his lap as she doodled and coloured away on her papers, and even on his desk without a care in the world.
Ari and her dad would also go explore the crooks and crannies of the quaint town that their family lived, with her dad reading to her the history of old buildings and abandoned houses which scattered about while Rel screamed and shrieked just as every other child when they were excited, or climbed up the trees, and then jumped off of them as if she could survive the fall, though she could, she definitely could, her dad would still leap up to catch her each and every time that she did, or jumped onto her dad's shoulder when they would play hide and seek to scare the heck out of him.
The two would also go near a creek where Ari would tell Clark stories about the friends she had made at school or around the town or the city, about her accomplishments at school and at home, about anything Rel had on her mind, really, and would almost nonstop every time someone would give him a time of day, something her dad gladly would when he needed some down time.
Ariella would more often than not hang out with her Uncle Jimmy and the two have their own set of weird, wacky adventures together where they would constantly find themselves getting transformed into different monsters, or participating in murder mysteries, or a wide variety of insane events that could easily taken place every other day.
Rel would often visit her Uncle Jimmy's place and talk to him about anything she had in her mind, all the while looking through his apartment in utter amazement as it was littered with evidence of what she saw as the most incredible life imaginable: a genie’s lamp, a time machine for one to two, a couple of concoctions capable of causing some of the most bizarre transformations, references to his time as the superhero Flamebird, Ultra-Olsen, Elastic Lad, and Turtle Boy, and a beach vacation spot in a bottle, among many, many others, Uncle Jimmy just had the good stuff.
Even if it means getting all of the free space and time she’d need, Rel can’t get anything done when she’s all alone and with little to no opportunities to interact with people, either feeling like she wants to go back to bed or, on the off chance she chooses to do her chores, or sculpt, or paint, or sketch anyway, doing what she’s doing at a slower pace than she’d like.
Ari doesn’t like doing things alone or going somewhere, anywhere, to do things alone, even if it’s just purchasing new art supplies, or eating at a restaurant, throwing out the trash, almost always wanting someone, anyone to go with her just to have some company who she can casually converse with as it makes mundane tasks seem so much more for fun to do.
So she sometimes either talks to her friends or her family through her headset or asks them to spend some time with her as she does what she needs or wants to do, though things such as them having conflicting schedules or them being way too introverted keep Ariella from doing that way too often.
Ariella almost always refers to herself in third person, something she took up from her mom, as a way to never forget her own name. Though this only sort of worked as The Specter messed with her memories just enough that she can only recall her name being R’E’L rather than Ariella Lee-Danvers-Kent, or Ari-El.
With no memory of what she had looked like, Ariella initially appeared to have little to no pigment in her hair, her skin, and her eyes, as well as any discernible features such as freckles, and would start to shift her looks either to match the looks of anyone and everyone she encountered and interacted with in hopes that they’d play and stay with her if she did or to try out whatever style of hair or color of hair she saw.
Ari has a habit of singing anything and everything that she does and breaking out into song whenever someone says something similar to a lyric to a song Rel had been listening to, since singing soothes her and distracts her from the harder things in life.
If Rel wasn’t humming a tune or singing a song, Ari would have a wide variety of bands and songs she would mix and match her mood on blast.
While Ari couldn’t remember having learned how to make minor and major mechanical repairs on a variety of appliances and apparatuses and how to design, build, and use them, she still could and would create numerous contraptions through her own creativity and ingenuity.
Ariella’s hoverboard was her mom’s hoverboard when she was Supergirl that her mom had been planning to give to her as a gift when she was at least a teen, though had given it to her when she was five before she was brought back to Post-Crisis continuity to bring back Kara to Pre-Crisis continuity as proof of her promise that she would come back for her.
Ariella later reconfigured the configuration of her hoverboard to transform back and forth from being a hoverboard with yellow and black accents to being a small spaceship with yellow, black, white accents whenever she wants after Duura died as a way to keep a piece of him and her memories of traveling across space with him with her wherever and whenever she went.
Ari had learned of the different locations of portals around the universe, which she would use to take a shortcut through a timeline, the timestream, the universe, or the multiverse whenever she was on the run from bounty hunters like Lobo and police officers like any one of the Green Lantern, who were out to get R'E'L, The Destroyer of Worlds, The Demolisher of Star Systems, after she had helped Santa Claus deliver all of presents he needed to deliver every other year, as well as personally gift a lump of coal to Darkseid despite Apokolip's constantly advancing defenses.

How Stargirl Uses the Justice Society’s Strangest Member to Tell a Very Human Story
https://ift.tt/3yhm2Cm
The following contains Stargirl spoilers.
Stargirl Season 2 Episode 3
Ever since that pink pen showed up back in Stargirl’s third episode last year, we’ve all pretty much been waiting to see who would claim Johnny Thunder’s infamous genie-summoning accessory. In “Summer School: Chapter Three” we find out – though likely not the way that most of us expected.
Perhaps we should have guessed that Courtney’s stepbrother Mike was destined to find some way to be part of the Justice Society of America. After all, the entire Dugan-Whitmore clan not only knows about Courtney’s secret identity as Stargirl, they’re all actively helping her with her quest to rid Blue Valley of both supervillains and generally nefarious criminals. It was only a matter of time, right?
Sure, none of us probably thought Mike would essentially become Mike Thunder, thanks to the pen that Courtney conveniently never returned to Pat. But it sort of makes sense. I don’t think Mike was ever going to become an expert in hand-to-hand combat or anything, and this is the sort of “power” that would have let him use his obviously clever mind. It’s not the worst fit in the world.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
And for a while, it seems like it might actually work. On the surface, this episode is peak Stargirl silliness. It’s hard not to smile while watching a hot pink CGI genie who interprets your wishes in the worst way possible and drops stop signs on unsuspecting teens who like to bully Girl Scouts. It’s fun – and that’s what this show excels at.
But it also excels at telling stories specifically grounded in teenage experiences, and that’s what “Summer School: Chapter Three” ultimately turns out to be. Thunderbolt chooses Mike because he’s lonely and sad, and he feels like that because he’s afraid he’s being left behind. That the rest of his family is developing a whole new relationship separate and apart from him, one in which he isn’t allowed to participate (or really even acknowledge). That his life is spiraling in a way that he doesn’t understand and can’t control
It’s a feeling Pat himself should remember well – the episode opens with another example of “Stripesy” being written off as a simple sidekick, someone whose job it is to keep the car running, but never save the day in his own right. (Or even get the chance to help protect the people he cares about.) He was also constantly belittled and left behind, and the fact that he doesn’t recognize that his own son is feeling the same way he once did is a reminder that Pat’s as human as any of the kids he’s training.

How Stargirl Finally Brings the Green Lantern to the DC TV Universe

Supergirl: Inside Kara and Zor-El’s Return to National City
By Delia Harrington
We may be just three episodes into Stargirl Season 2, but this show is punching well above its weight when it comes to wrestling with the sort of big moral and philosophical issues that are part and parcel of life as a superhero. Beyond the question of whether Mike has the right to make his own choices about whether or not to participate in what is essentially the new family superhero business, there are other big emotional arcs happening with the other JSA members. Rick seems to be attempting to atone for his fight with Solomon Grundy last season by sneaking him snacks in the woods.
And I’m not sure I ever saw Arrow’s Oliver Queen wrestle with killing a bad guy in the same way that Yolanda has done so far this year, and her desperation to find a kindred spirit in Mike – who also killed one of the ISA in last season’s finale – is strangely moving. (Though, admittedly, I’m not sure if we’re meant to take Mike’s explanation that his killing of Icicle was little more than an accident at face value or not. Is it a better story if he just wasn’t bothered by it the same way Yolanda is?)
Interestingly enough, Mike only relinquishes the Thunderbolt pen by accident – thanks to an ill-timed throwaway statement that he “wished it was in better hands” causes it to disappear. Prior to that moment, he’s fully ready to accept his superhero learning curve lumps the same way Courtney did, and out of the many options on the table, I think “giving up Thunderbolt” was not the one that Mike would have ever directly chosen.
Granted, we’ve all basically known ever since he offhandedly mentioned the name of his friend Jakeem that Mike’s fellow paperboy would most likely end up part of the new JSA. But the fact that his powers are going to be a direct result of Mike’s actions – actions which crushed his own dreams of being an official JSA member himself – well, one has to assume that’s not going to be something that’s particularly easy for him to get over.
At the end of the Season 2 premiere, when Mike’s photo is revealed as one of the people Cindy Burman is hoping to recruit for her new reconstituted Injustice Society, it’s hard to imagine how such a plan could possibly work. Mike is a Dugan through and through. He loves Courtney. He desperately wants to be part of her superhero team. Heck, he already even knocked off a supervillain!
But after “Summer School: Chapter Three”, it’s suddenly a lot easier to see how Cindy’s plan could actually be successful. Mike was already feeling isolated and like the odd one out in his family. Now he’s actually gotten a taste of the belonging he wanted so badly – to be a hero the way his (step)sister is, to be so special that he has to be included in the group’s crime-fighting activities, to finally feel like part of the team. Now he’s not only lost it all, but he actively threw it away with both hands, Not on purpose, obviously, but the end result is the same. Does that sound like a person who might be susceptible to Cindy’s supervillain sales pitch? Maybe? And that outcome feels a lot closer than it did when this episode started.
We officially meet Jakeem – now officially Jakeem Thunder, I suppose – at the episode’s end, in a cliffhanger of sorts that feels like it’s another piece of the larger Season 2 puzzle that began with “Summer School: Chapter Two’s” introduction of new Green Lantern Jennie. It doesn’t necessarily feel like we’ll see either of these characters next week – or maybe even in the next couple of weeks – but it certainly seems as though we’re far from done with either of them.

TOP TEN COMICS BOOK VILLAINS WE PROBABLY WON’T SEE IN THE MOVIES
Superhero media is the hottest thing going right now. It was true ten years ago when the MCU was in its adolescence, and it’s even truer now. Even with film production on lockdown, Marvel and DC are still planning on literally dozens of their characters entering their respective cinematic universes. However, for the fans of the source material, things can be contentious. For every memorable Tony Stark quip, there’s Superman destroying an entire city because he’s, frankly, kind of dumb now. A major point of contention is how the various popular villains are utilized. Making an intimidating and potent villain in a comic book is very different than in a film. In comics, you have months to establish motive, powers, and backstory before the villain even makes their first move. In films, that all has to be compressed and spilled out in the scarce few minutes when Captain America and Bucky aren’t making bambi eyes at each other. To be concise, some villains adapt perfectly, and some, no matter how good they are in the comics, just don’t. And to be clear, this list is of popular villains who have the possibility of appearing in a big-budget film, so no, you won’t be seeing Ten Eyed Man or Big Wheel in there. Their powers are, respectively, having ten eyes, and being very good in business. (That’s a lie, he’s just a huge wheel who chases Spider-Man.)
10: Mr. Mxyzptlk:
Cool, let’s get this one out of the way. Despite being one of Superman’s oldest, longest-lasting, and most popular enemies from all the way back in the Golden Age, there’s no way in hell he will be in a movie. For the uninformed. Mr. Mxyzptlk is a 5th dimensional wizard-genie who appears every ninety days to torment Superman with his reality-altering antics, and can only be sent back to his home dimension if Superman tricks him into saying his own name backwards. Yes, it would be very dazzling, as Mr. Mxyzptlk’s powers in a movie would basically look like if Christopher Nolan directed Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but he’s a little too silly to fit in with the current “everything is gloomy and also a bummer” tone of the Superman films. This silly tone has lent itself perfectly to the Supergirl series, where he’s made a handful of appearances. Besides, if we get Mxyzptlk in a Superman movie before Brainiac, I’ll lose my entire freaking mind.
9: Hobgoblin:
There have been eight Spider-Man movies so far, and of those eight, four of them have, in some capacity, featured the Green Goblin. And that makes sense, right? The Green Goblin is easily Spider-Man’s most memorable and reoccurring nemesis, with Doctor Octopus and Venom close behind, and Peter Parker’s link with Norman and Harry Osbourn makes their tragic story perfect for film adaptation. On the other hand, we have the Hobgoblin, who is essentially Green Goblin with all the gimmicks, none of the Parker-adjacent backstory, and an orange and blue color scheme, likely tying him to the Denver Broncos [citation needed]. Still, in those four cinematic attempts at tackling the Goblin, none of them have quite gotten him right, and I can’t imagine this character, who is, even in canon, an intentional Green Goblin rip-off, would fare any better.
8: Starro:
Brave and the Bold #28 from 1960 featured the first story with the Justice League, and this story put them up against a very unique new villain: Starro the Conqueror, a giant telepathic starfish who can release tiny versions of himself. If these tiny starfish latch onto your head, you’re under his control and obey his commands. The Justice League have battled him fairly regularly over the last fifty years, and he’s a distinct and powerful enemy that the fans generally appreciate, leading to him being referenced occasionally in Smallville, Arrow, and Flash. Why won’t he ever be in a movie? Because if you’re a Hollywood producer, you stopped paying attention at “giant telepathic starfish”. Sorry. Maybe Shuma-Gorath will pop up in the next Doctor Strange movie, and he’ll set off a Twilight-esque wave of starfish monster movies! Then again, almost absolutely not.
7: Puppet Master:
Speaking of mind control, what’s scarier than that? For my money, nothing. Having your body and will taken away from you by an unseen force is a terror greater than death. How could you possibly make a villain based around such a chilling concept and have him not be scary? Well, maybe if it’s an old bald man in an apron playing with dolls. The Puppet Master is an ongoing threat for the Fantastic Four who is just that: he makes models of his foes out of radioactive clay, and makes them punch themselves and dance around and kiss each other, because he’s, y’know, a weird old man. Why is he such a consistent threat who hasn’t fallen into obscurity like other dumb gimmick-based villains? His stepdaughter, Alicia Masters, is the Thing’s longtime girlfriend. As long as she keeps appearing in movies (including being played by… Kerry Washington? That can’t be right), there’s always a chance he’ll pop up, but I don’t think any movie studio is that stupid, despite the quality of every Fantastic Four movie blatantly defying that prediction.
6: Bizarro:
Superman has always suffered in the villains department. When you’re essentially a god, what can they throw at you? As it turns out, Lex Luthor, almost always. But why not another Superman? Bizarro is essentially that, an imperfect clone of Superman who speaks in opposite speak - “Bizarro am good! Me not punch you until you live!” - and features the same abilities as the Man of Steel. Sounds great, right? Putting a hero against a villain with their same powers has worked for nearly every Marvel movie (shots fired). So why won’t we see him grace our silver screens any time soon? Because they’ve never really figured him out. Is he funny? Is he lethal? Does Kryptonite work on him? If he does everything the opposite of Superman, why does he wear clothes? Isn’t being naked the opposite of being clothed? Bizarro is a major Superman side-character and has made appearances in Smallville and Supergirl, but the idea of him being the Big Bad going toe-to-toe with Henry Cavill doesn’t sound like it would generate a lot of views.
5: Impossible Man:
You remember what I said about Mr. Mxyzptlk? Remember? So take that bit, but everywhere I say Superman, have it say Fantastic Four instead… yeah, that should do it.
4: The Wrecking Crew:
Thor has a unique quirk of having a very cinematic rogues gallery. Sure, most of the movies have pitted him against Loki, but if they were to run him up against the Enchantress, or the Absorbing Man, or Ulik the Troll, or Kurse, or even the Stone Men from Saturn, that’s not a bad movie! However, in one of the attempts to give Thor more of a mortal nemesis, they put him up against the Wrecker, who has an… enchanted… indestructible… crowbar. Yeah. Incredibly, the Wrecker and his Wrecking Crew have become very present characters throughout the Marvel Universe, essentially serving as “jobbers”, being rolled out to get beaten up by the new top hero or villain, but that may not work in a movie, where villains have to be seen as having some level of potency before being struck down. That means we’d need at least a short scene where it seems like Thor might lose to a guy whose power is “crowbar”, and that’s about as likely as an Edward Norton cameo in the next Avengers. Ho boy, they did NOT part on good terms!
3: Clayface:
When the movie-going public goes to see a Batman movie, they generally want something a bit more grounded than your typical superhero fare. After all, Batman has no powers, and therefore the most supernatural thing that should happen in these movies is a gas that makes you smile, or a different gas that makes you think your dead parents are back and disappointed in you. Might wanna put a mouth covering on that mask, Bruce! The one and only they’ve made a movie where Batman fights people with real, off-the-wall super powers (Batman and Robin), it did not go great. And those guys pale in comparison to Clayface, who is, yes, made of clay. In the comics and cartoons, Clayface looks awesome, turning his limbs into weapons and being very challenging to incapacitate, but in a live-action, realistic Batman adventure, we wouldn’t want to see the Dark Knight fight a poop-colored version of the T-1000, especially if it’s got the same chemical composition of a little dreidel that I made.
2: Red Hood:
A relative newcomer to the Batman universe, Red Hood is the revived body of Jason Todd, the second Robin, who was brutally killed by the Joker in one of the most controversial storylines DC Comics ever produced. Literally, fans called a 900 number to tell the writers to kill him off. A 900 number. That’s how much they hated the little turd. Anyway, Jason Todd, whom Batman and the rest of the world believed was dead, was revived by Ra’s al Ghul and became a ruthless villain. Since then, he’s gravitated more to the side of the hero, though one a bit more willing to spill blood than his mentors. Why won’t we see him in the darker, edgier Batman films? Because… that’s Bucky. It’s the same thing that happened in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Teen sidekick killed in controversial manner, revived by super villain to be a thorn in said hero’s side, later changes his mind and becomes a good guy again, though with enough PTSD to fill a PTSD super store. The two storylines even occurred in the comics in the same year, 2005, to much fanfare and across-the-board declarations of one company ripping off the other, reminding the world of the great Aquaman-Namor debates of the 1940s. Considering that DC’s films have criminally underperformed compared to Marvel’s, the last thing they want to do is be accused of lazy plagiarism, so Jason Todd will likely remain a permanent fixture in the afterlife, hanging out with Batman’s parents and, at the rate that people are coming back from the dead, literally no one else. (Plus, if they can’t even get Robin right, how are they gonna do this?)
1: Mister Sinister:
Yes, he was teased at the end of X-Men Apocalypse, but ignoring that the film underperformed both critically and commercially, Mister Sinister is never going to be in a movie. It would make sense for him to appear, though, right? He’s one of the most present and potent X-Men villains, he’s played crucial roles in many memorable storylines, he’s got a sick cape, but… something a lot of comic book fans tend to overlook is his murky backstory, powers, and motivations. He was a biologist in Victorian London who did genetic experiments on homeless people in the hopes of finding clues about the oncoming threat of mutants. In this time, he unearthed the long-dormant En Sabah Nur, whom you plebeians may know as Apocalypse, and Apocalypse gifted him with great abilities. What abilities you ask? HA HA, good question! At various times, Sinister has displayed: telepathy, telekinesis, energy projection, shape-shifting, regeneration, and teleportation, but these powers will mysteriously disappear whenever they want him to get sliced up real good by Wolverine. Additionally, it has never been made very clear what Sinister wants. Does he seek perfect mastery of the human genome? Does he live to torment Cyclops? Is he a blind follower of Apocalypse? Is he just running through all the different kinds of goatee? Of course, in adaptation, the writers would pick and choose the aspects they’d want to use, but I doubt they’d want to untangle the Christmas lights mess that is Mister Sinister, especially when they’ve got a perfectly good villain whose power is just “magnets”.

OK....so why wouldn’t Berlanti’s statement apply to Supergirl?
If we cannot ask a civil question about the statement below at Fandome because SG is removed.....(yes unbelievably). Then sorry but what is wrong with wanting clarification regarding Supergirl in light of Berlanti’s statement in that Variety interview? I get that their response would obviously be denial of the ‘slow burn’ relationship part. However, if they try to debate that view as subjective....the same claim also works in reverse. Simply because even if they didn’t intend to build a ‘slow burn’ the dynamics they wrote and the other contributing factors like the amazing chemistry, took a life of their own and contributed greatly to that perception just the same as if it had been intentional. That the characters of Kara and Lena belong together, is a huge perception out there.......you cannot put the genie back in the bottle. There’s even that Buzz Feed article listing their relationship amongst the 33 TV show relationships with amazing chemistry that changed shows for the better. Therefore you cannot say a widely viewed perception does not exist, simply because you don’t want it to exist or because you did not set out to do it! Particularly since it is not just Supercorp shippers who hold that opinion.....review after review says the same, including other show writers, and people connected with the show have seen this. Now in light of Berlanti’s comments in Variety....denial of this situation is becoming downright comical!
Greg Berlanti recently said in an interview with Variety,
“In the DC Universe especially, there’s been a focus on us recognizing that we want to create heroes that look and felt like today, not the 1940s or 1950s, They were all very well intentioned when they created those back then, but there’s a certain responsibility that you have if you’re going to escort these iconic characters into this generation to make sure they have the heart of that character, but they don’t have to have the gender or the color of that character or the sexuality.”
https://reel360.com/article/are-we-getting-a-black-lex-for-superman-and-lois/
Since he feels that is the case......and given the unmatched chemistry between Kara and Lena and their 'slow burn' relationship built over 4 seasons, isn't it time to give Supergirl the right less rigid image in 2020 of not being afraid to show she has developed feelings for her best friend?

In Once Upon A Time, Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) is a genie from Agrabah.
In Supergirl 2x13...
Mxyzptlk (Peter Gadiot) sings “A Whole New World” from Disney’s Aladdin.
Mxyzptlk is described as “a god,” “a genie,” “a jinn” (another word for genie), "a leprechaun,” and “an intergalactic trickster.”
Cyrus is really Mxyzptlk confirmed.
