Rivalry | Bakugou Katsuki x F!Reader
katsuki catches feelings for his new rival
Tumblr media
Bakugou Katsuki has a crush, and he refuses to admit it.
There’s a girl in his class who drives him absolutely insane. All throughout middle school, he’s had the top grades. His attitude, foul mouth, and appearance may fool people into believing he’s a delinquent—and to some extent, he is—but the truth is that he has a rigid, early bedtime, he does all his homework diligently, he studies at great length for tests, and he’s never missed a single day of class.
He’s the best student there is. Or rather—he’s just the best in general.
But this year, everything changed.
There’s something about you that seems to catch everyone’s eye. You showed up at the beginning of the school year, a new transfer student, and from that moment onward, Katsuki swears his life got flipped upside down.
You’re gifted. You’ve got the best grades not only in the class, but out of everyone in the whole school. Every time exam scores are posted for others to see, Katsuki is forced to grit his teeth at the sight of your name at the very top, time and time again.
It’s not just your grades, though. You’ve got a powerful Quirk, too. It’s some kind of energy control that allows you to levitate objects, enhance your physical strength, and also defend against attacks. It’s strong and versatile. Perfect for becoming a hero—which is exactly what you plan to be.
The final nail in the coffin is that you’re also popular.
Katsuki is used to being the center of attention wherever he goes. He’s used to being complimented for his intellect, his talent, his strength, and the sheer magnitude of his presence. Thanks to everyone praising him to high heaven, ever since he was a kid, his ego has become massively inflated.
So, when he realizes that people are paying more attention to you than they are to him, he doesn’t know how the hell he’s supposed to handle it.
Katsuki finds himself glaring at you just about constantly. You’ve always got a group of students gathered around you. You’re always smiling and laughing, looking carefree as can be. You’re also the only person in the whole class who doesn’t treat Izuku like dirt—which just pisses him off even more.
One day, you stop in front of his desk with a bright smile.
“Here you go, Bakugou,” you say, handing him a cookie. “This is for you.”
Katsuki looks up at you in disbelief. “Why would I ever want this shit?”
“I dunno. It was my birthday recently, so I baked cookies to hand out to the class. Don’t you want one? I thought everyone likes cookies.”
“I would rather die than eat that,” he snarls, and he angrily shoves the cookie back into your hands.
He’s dramatic as all hell, of course, and that kind of vicious remark would have been more than enough to make anyone feel self-conscious. It was needlessly harsh. He obviously didn’t mean it. Given the option of eating your cookie or dying, he would definitely eat the cookie.
Not that it really matters, though.
You’re completely unfazed.
“Damn, I didn’t know you were deathly afraid of cookies,” you muse. “I’ll have to keep that in mind for next time. What about cupcakes? Are cupcakes safe for you to eat?”
Katsuki’s entire face turns red. “That’s obviously not what I meant, asshole!”
“I know,” you giggle, and for some reason, the sound makes Katsuki’s heart skip a beat. “Sorry for teasing. You’re really funny, Bakugou. I like you.”
He parts his lips to respond, but he’s incapable of forming any words. It feels like whatever he was about to say just died in the back of his throat. All of a sudden, he’s frozen in place, brain running haywire.
“I like you.”
You’re making fun of him. You have to be. And why should he even care whether you actually like him or not? He doesn’t give a shit about you. He can’t stand you. You’re the bane of his goddamn existence.
…fuck.
That’s what he keeps telling himself, but given how red his face is, it’s sounding harder and harder to believe.
“I’ll make something else next time,” you beam. “I’m sure one day, I’ll figure out something you like. I’ve noticed you eat spicy food a lot. Maybe I should try making a curry. Ah, but if it’s good, you have to be honest with me, okay? You’re not allowed to lie.”
Katsuki’s heart does another flip. It’s so stupid. He can’t believe his mind even bothered to read into it, but…
The fact that you know what kind of food he likes means you’ve at least been paying some attention to him, right?
“I’m going to beat you,” Katsuki blurts. His voice wavers slightly, and he grinds his teeth together in embarrassment, but still, he persists. “On the next round of exams… I’m going to place first. Just you watch.”
Normally, Katsuki can’t stand to lose. He can’t stand the feeling of inferiority. The idea that someone else might be better than him.
And yet, despite his frustration, despite how much he claims you drive him up the wall, he actually doesn’t mind the challenge. It’s exciting. It makes him respect you that much more.
“We’ll see about that,” you grin—and he’s convinced you have to be the prettiest girl he’s ever seen.
No doubt about it.
Something about you just gets his heart racing.

Silence is Silver, Your Voice is Gold - [Katsuki Bakugo] SOULMATE SERIES | GN
Tumblr media
blurb:
You've got the cranky egoist in 1A as your soulmate. Deemed as an 'extra' in his straight laced life, you've resigned yourself to covering your soul words and sealing your lips, becoming U.A's first year general course prodigy, the silent designer. Despite his distasteful character and colourful atittude, as one of Bakugo's primary costume creators, you work to your utmost to satisfy beyond your client's needs. It's unfortunate that despite your title, the angry pompom won't take a goddamn hint from your silence. When you even go out of your way to avoid him, you start to think that he knows you a little too well despite never having uttered a word.

Tumblr media
Avoiding Katsuki Bakugo has been a piece of cake.
The guy has such an inflamed ego that he expects the people to part for him wherever he walks.
You met him when the hero course first years were scheduled to mix with the costume design students to discuss both the practical and fashionable output of their hero costumes.
You'd been one of the main designer's for Bakugo's suit, with two others having asissted you in its curation. From his original sketch, you'd syphoned the relevant materials for the prototype, your colleagues aiding in the stitching and detail while you further assessed how it could potentially enhance the use of his quirk.
'Beat it, extra.'
The words had tingled on the back of your neck after he growled at you before you could consult him on his gauntlets' latest design. You had swiftly looked him up and down with disgust at his audaciousness before slapping your sketchpad on the table in front of him and storming off.
You remember hearing the maniacal laughter of his friends while one of your other classmate's (the designer of Shoji's suit) shakily explained to him your presence.
You'd had much better things to do that day, but had decided to go out of your way to personally discuss with him his preference in design and utility so you wouldn't have to go back and forth with various prototypes.
Instead, you got cussed out before saying a single word; what an utter waste of your generous time.
Like hell you were going to deal with a soulmate like that.
You started wearing a thick, velvet choker to hide your golden inked soul words.
Since then, you'd sent your assistants to deliver any sort of message to him. With them doing your communicative bidding, you could put your full focus on the active improvement of his hero costume.
When it would come back burnt from training, you would change and reinforce its material until it was fire resistant. When it got ripped, you would reasses its durability. When his gauntlets got in the way, you would restructure them for better mobility and control.
One day when one of your assistants reluctantly relayed to you Bakugo's irrational displeasure with the pigment of his headpiece (for the seventh time), you'd sent it back hot pink with a black and white frilly ribbon.
He broke your lab door the same day.
Since then, when you'd send off your poor assistants in sacrifice, he'd rattle them and demand for you to face him personally.
You ignored him, but then when your classes started mingling more you couldn't get away from him quick enough.
One of your classmates would sweat in a panic off to the side as you worked at your bench tirelessly with thinned lips and an irk whilst Bakugo yelled and threw a hissyfit at your every move.
"What the hell is that supposed to be? Spandex?!"
"That looks like a lump of shit."
"God, it's ugly."
"Whaddya using that for? Weakass bullshit cloth."
"STOP MAKING IT PINK!"
"No way would that work with my quirk!"
"I'd blow that to smithereens easy."
You had to stop yourself from throwing your sketchpad at him most days. But sometimes you caved and summoned a roll of pink ribbon to stuff in his loud mouth.
He spat it at you and yelled even more, but that single moment of peace and his reddened face made it worth it.
On occasion, you would be lucky and actually get a few decent conversations out of him. His mouth was still foul, but his volume would be acceptable, and his suggestions surprisingly competent and reasonable.
On those days, he would leave with his voice intact, and you with one step closer to the final product.
Your impeccable work ethic and skills and Bakugo's mild decency lead you way ahead of the others in your unit. Eventually, you started having enough time to help out with some of the other hero costumes too--with the permission of both the creator and wearer, of course.
They've all been more than thrilled to work alongside U.A's renouned silent designer.
Although you worked quietly, you made more of an effort to communicate personally with the heroes in training regarding their costumes.
Most were surprised at that, having only known you to work alone and to commune from afar as you've done with Bakugo.
While word of your ingenius spread, unfortunately so too did your most recent work relations.
Bakugo didn't seem to find it funny that you talked to everyone but him.
So you threw all your stationary at him when he stormed into your design lab to make it everyone's problem.
But more specifically, to make it your problem.
Tumblr media
"Miss me, nerd?"
Your scathing glare did nothing to Bakugo's arrogant smirk as he waltzes his way past everyone to your work bench.
You narrowly snatch up your latest prototype sketches before he sets down a pair of cold drinks on the table. The condensation drips down, pooling on its surface.
"This it?" He casually quirks up a brow at the strip of hard textured fabric and metal atop your bench. He picks up one of the drinks and slurps from its straw obnoxiously to get on your nerves, "hm, doesn't look like shit this time."
Lately you've been redesigning his utility belt to match the clasps between his protective gloves and gauntlets, additionally extending it to hold extra grenades that activate through his quirk. You've already sent in a request to the support department for those.
"Put ribbons on it like you did last week and I'll kill you."
You fight back a petty smile, recalling the pretty little pompoms decorating the numerous tiny pink bows stitched to each belt loop. He scoffs at your poorly concealed pleasure, and you turn your nose up at him, biting the inside of your cheek mischieviously.
He narrows his eyes at you before rolling them, placing his drink down way too close to your precious papers--again--and resting his cheek on his fist boredly.
Your lips twitch downward in ire at his intrusion of your space, but you work around him nontheless. You don't blink when he cusses as he smacks away a scrap of fabric you toss at him in casual vengeance.
"When's this gonna be done anyway--quit it. I've got a mission in Shinjuku next week." Bakugo snatches a pen you throw at him in mid-air.
You shrug at him, not your problem, but hold up two fingers anyway.
"Two days, huh," He clicks his tongue, "you slackin'?"
He cackles demonically while you log a chunk of stainless steel at his head.
Swear to god--you're gonna make his whole suit neon pink!
He visits you again after his mission, which is evidently successful judging by the fat cocky smirk on his face as he approaches while you stitch up a hero costume from class 1-B.
You deadpan at him as he drops a take away paper bag at the corner of your work bench. Then he tosses his empty utility belt over your most recent handiwork.
"Clasp blasted off."
Bakugo makes himself at home in the spinny chair opposite you, leaning back and putting his boots on the desk as he snags a tasty pastry from the paper bag before pushing it towards you.
An eyebrow twitches as you stare at the no longer existing metal clasp on the support item. A square char mark is left where it would've been. The belt is otherwise untouched.
What, was he aiming for it or something?
Scrunching your nose at him distastefully, you flick the belt off the costume you had been working on and resume your stitching.
"Oi! What about me!?"
You shoot him a sharp glare that makes him scoff. He pipes down nontheless, settling back into his chair with a roll of his eyes and a grumble.
Bakugo's visitations become more frequent.
At this point in time, his hero costume shouldn't need any more major improvements or adjustments until the start of your second year. And yet he's coming in what seems like every other day for any single little thing that bothers him.
Hell, he even comes in to bug you about repaires--you don't do repaires. But he argues that he doesn't want anyone but you 'touching his shit', as he so eloquently explains.
He's come in for his belt clasp six times now, his visor for four, his gauntlets for five, and for the sole of his boots thrice.
The bottom of his fucking shoes.
He can eat your sparkly, bow tied, hot pink and purple swirled shit.
He doesn't even need you anymore!
You're just some stupid non-hero extra. The hell is his deal now?
Tumblr media
Bakugo's come in angry today.
He's normally angry, but it's different this time.
You watch him wearily from the corner of your eye as you type out a risk assessment at your desk. School's finished now, but you've been putting this off for a bit, and wanted to get it done while you were still feeling productive.
Less than ten minutes after the last bell rang out and everyone left for the day, Bakugo had come barging in with a stiffer than usual scowl and a dissatisfied furrow in his brows.
But he's been silent.
Bakugo's never been silent.
He sits in the seat adjacent to you, leant all the way into the backrest with his arms tightly crossed and his eyes narrowed, boring into your form.
Each time you glance at him you look away in a hurry as you meet his gaze.
Okay, now it's getting to you...
Slowly, your fingers stop typing, unable to function properly under the intensity of his stare. You don't look at him this time though, and you sweatdrop uncomfortably.
The tension causes your skin to prick, and you tug at your choker discomposibly. The velvet rubs at your skin, irritating it.
You jump when he suddenly speaks.
"What's up with you, huh?" He says it more like a statement, "you're so damn quiet it's eery. Say something."
You give him a disgruntled look.
Is he for real? Is that what his tantrum is about? He can go eat grass.
You turn your attention back onto your laptop, typing again.
He growls at that.
"Don't ignore me, damnit! I know you can say shit!"
Oh, and the shit I would say. You snicker to yourself, but that only seems to tick him off more.
"[name], answer me."
Your stomach drops--he's never called you by your name, let alone your first name. You glance at him again; Bakugo leans forwards with his elbows on his knees, eyes piercing you with a threatening intensity that sends off warning bells in your head.
You look back at him once you grasp the gravity of his tone.
Your annoyed frown fades, and your features soften as to prompt him. He takes in a deep breath, gaze flicking up and down your form as he processes his thoughts first.
He meets your eyes again with a determined resolve.
"I know you're my soulmate."
Fuck, what.
Bakugo scowls when you visibly stiffen, shock coursing your system.
"Get over yourself, you ain't slick. 'S why you've been runnin' from me." He crosses his arms across his chest, lips firmly downturned at your lack of verbal response.
Ice freezes your blood and your gaze flicks away from him apprehensively. What exactly is he expecting from this? Bakugo is a cocky bastard.
An egocentric prick with the means to flaunt it. He's one of the top students in the hero course and he knows it--what the hell does he want from you?
You feel your temper flare.
So what if he knows your soulmates? He obviously thinks he's too good for this shit; fuck fate and all that it stands for, you're just some side character behind him, just like he's said.
You aren't shit to him, and if he thinks he can actually do better than you, well then you know that you can. Who is he to pick and choose who he deserves? In that case, you know what, yeah, he's right, because you deserve better than him any day-
"What?" Bakugo's unappreciated tone fans the flames of the rapidly burning thread containing your tolerance, "still silent?"
"Shut up, asshole! You think you're too good for shit!" Your outburst as you slamming your hands down atop your work bench, the few utensils scattered about clattering in tandem with the vibration, "I'm not just some side piece you can bulldoze! I know my worth, even if you can't fathom it, you eighth-grade-syndrome twit!"
A tense silence settles over the room, and his eyes harden as you stare him down with an unwavering resolve.
Bakugo's lips twitch.
And then he's cackling like a hyena.
You flinch at the abrupt switch, scrambling to process whether you should feel glad or offended that he doesn't seem to be taking your words to heart.
You know for a fact you would not beat Katsuki Bakugo in a fight.
You shiver at the thought, and he beats his fist on the edge of the table as he recovers from his laughter. He lets out a long winded breath, wiping an exaggerated tear from his eye which you deadpan at.
"Ah, damn," Bakugo snorts, "we're really meant to be, eh?" He lifts up the edge of his loose shirt just enough to reveal the glowing golden words inked vertically on his toned waist, "knew there was a reason I could tolerate you more."
"Ditto." You spit out despite the relief flooding you as he stays put. You rub the back of your neck subconsciously.
He eyes the movement skeptically before motioning for you to move towards him. You scrunch your nose at him but oblige when he clicks his tongue irratedly. You've tested his patience enough already.
Once you're close enough he yanks you down and unclasps your velvet choker. You emit a scandalised gasp, feeling naked without it.
"Hey!"
"Give it up," He drawls, "get over yourself."
Bakugo latches a hand around your nape, pulling you forward so your head is bent level with his chest, and your face flushes. Both your hands grip at the armrests of the chair, caging him in as you fight not to fall off balance.
"Ack-" You choke at the feeling of him ever so gently tracing beneath the words on the back of your neck, "-stop that!"
He huffs a laugh, and his breath pans over your skin.
His eyes soften ever so slightly, "You're not jus' some extra, you know..." He lets you up. He ignores the imbuing embarrassment that pairs with the subtle blush tinting his cheeks.
You mull over his words for a second, pushing yourself back to face him head on. You blink slowly, registering his meaning. A gentle warmth settles across your cheeks, and a quiet glee bubbles inside you.
"Yeah?"
Although you bite back a smile, there's a hopeful glimmer in your eyes.
Bakugo grins, "Yeah," and places a reassuring hand atop your head, "not my soulmate."

How Corrupt Is Hero Society?. Part 2
Nomu and Endeavor, a cause for concern
To add to the today's chatter about Endeavor and his excessive force and how that applies to the rest of MHA's "heroics". I'd like to point something out
Tumblr media
It has always been this way
Excessive violence against Nomu isn't anything new, ever since Hori downgraded them into punching bags so the audience wouldnt question the morality of it all.
It does, however bring into light just how desensitized Hero Society is, how they view villains and may display some quirk-ism. Allow me to elaborate.
Tumblr media
To the publics knowledge this is a PERSON.
The general public, hell most heroes. Had no fucking clue what a Nomu was. To their knowledge this was just someone with a heavy mutation quirk.
And they just, carry on.
Endeavor's gut instinct here was to burn his head off to stop him from regenerating and no one bats an eye.
But don't worry it gets worse.
Gran Torino is someone the community has dug into countless times for his attitudes towards Shigaraki and belief that "killing is another way to save"
So when Torino does this:
Tumblr media
it doesn't really help his case, especially when Endeavor tried to kill that Nomu prior to this by incinerating him alive (almost killing 2 civilians. But I'll get to that)
Such a move would at the very least, sever someone's spine rendering them paralyzed for life. While I can see what Torino was trying to do, the ends do not justify the means here.
I'm not saying the Nomu are innocent, but it's blatantly obvious that they should be aiming to detain them rather than resorting to lethal force right away.
The worst part is the public has no reaction to this. No one asks anything and the authorities sure as hell aren't telling them squat.
We see it again during the Hood Fight and what's worse is that Hood can talk, bringing into question of how sapient is Hood.
Again Endeavor incinerates the Villain and no questions are asked.
Alright remember what I said about the two civilians?. well it gets worse, Firstly, they didn't even know if they were alright until near the end of the Hosu Incident, just letting them run off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Endeavor recklessly unleashes a wall of flame, the Nomu absorbs it and processed to reflect the same attack.
Tumblr media
(on a second note: Torino and Enji even refer to the Nomu as if they were fighting a Human!?)
What does this mean?. Well that Enji ran into that fight without thinking!.
He didn't even so much as think up a strategy (just like a certain blonde we all know and despise) for what would happen if the opponent just, didn't die.
In Vigilantes he opts to bathe an entire city block in fire because he can't find the Villain (6)
He creates a fucking fire tornado with no thought for collateral damage
Tumblr media
(The reactions of his sidekicks concern me, though knowing how Burnin' reacted to Dabi's exposé I'm not suprised.)
Given that he's this destructive and openly antagonistic in public, I don't even want to imagine the state Rei was in after every "training session" spent protecting Shoto.
This is why looking back, I can't say I'm suprised how some of the civilians dove back into worshipping heroes, even after Hawks killed a man and Heroes left them to fend for themselves.
Because as the saying goes
A bird stuck in a cage believes flying to be an illness
_______________________________________
Additional Info:
As pointed out by @gecmi09 (thank you for bringing that up), Endeavor did indeed refer to Crawler and Popstep as villains, as seen here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd like to draw attention to the fact that he is drawn in a similar manner to Number Six, who is also often drawn in a silhouetted fashion, especially when his true colors are exposed.
The two characters are ironically very similar. Both are willing to resort to destructive means if it means achieving their goals.
Both willingly hurt those around/close them and use flawed logic in an attempt to justify their actions.
Both pretend to be something/someone they're not
Both of them brought about their own demise through one of their victims (Dabi and Knuckleduster [who took in Koichi] respectively. Though Six's was more indirect.)
Even though Vigilantes is loosely attached to MHA, I find it interesting that these two characters are so similar. Really makes you think.

Summery: Training has been hard all day and it's been wearing Iida down, so when you guys get back to the dorms you take care of him. Readers quirk isn't specified but it is described to be less physical and reader is apart of class 1-A.
REQUESTS OPEN PLS SEND (I fear I'm desperate)
Authors note: That summery sounds like smut but this is pure fluff (you dirty dirty dogs). Reader is gender neutral and Iida's partner. Also this is for my friend, I'm so sorry I took forever to write this. I'm so sorry my bookie 😔
Masterlist Link
Ectoplasm was putting class 1-A and B through the wringer trying to get them to master their special moves. For the past week the classes have been pushing themselves to the extreme, past their limits.
For you it wasn't too straining since you're quirk wasn't very physical, Iida on the other hand was practically dying by the end of the week. His engines felt fried and in general his whole body was aching. Sore in places he didn't even know he could get sore.
The worst part was his legs, Iida had been pushing his limits on Recipro Burst and it was causing serious strain on his engines. That's what brought the two of you making your way from the common room to his dorm.
It took a lot, and I mean a lot, of convincing to get him to let you help him. He didn't like worrying others, especially you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Y/n I'm truly fine, to be a hero I have to get stronger. This is just what being a hero involves." Iida spoke with a stern voice, underneath his words though was an undertone of tiredness you didn't miss.
"I just want to help out, being a hero also involves asking for help Tenya." You're tone soft, you could see through his 'I'm class president everything is fine' attitude. "Please? For me?" You asked, knowing he wouldn't be able to say no.
Iida looked over at you and for a split second you thought he'd decline again, but instead he sighed and looked away. "Fine, but you need to take care of yourself as well." Showing his vulnerable side was never something he liked to do, it made him feel weak and unworthy of the "Ingenium" title.
The smile that came to your face was enough to make him forget about his worries. He couldn't help but match your loving grin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Opening Iida's door you were met with the same boring room you've come to enjoy. He went to change into comfier clothes while you got a show ready to watch on your phone. Iida had changed and was now laying beside you, he watched as you chose a show the two of you had started together per your request.
Iida searched for the soothing cream you had gotten him a while back for cases like these, it took a minute of rummaging in his bedside drawer to find it. You happily took it from him when he pulled it out the drawer. "Alright honey how do you want to do this?" You asked sitting criss cross (applesauce) next to him, ready to move to a better position.
"You can sit like that and I can put one leg on your lap at a time. Is that alright love?" He almost seemed shy when he asked, you nodded your head and set your phone down infront of the two of you. Him laying on his side, one leg on your lap the engine facing you, and you sitting criss cross (applesauce) next to him.
The position was a bit awkward but it worked best when on a smaller bed like this. You opened the container and rubbed a bit onto your fingers, the cream was designed to help sooth muscles for athletes. Iida's calfs were too sore to take the engines out but you could still touch the outside.
Starting with the right leg you gently massage the tense muscles with your soft fingers. Iida let out a sigh and relaxed into your touch, slowly giving himself to you. Iida leaned his head on his hand and started to close his eyes. Your gentle touch lulling him to sleep.
Carefully rubbing your fingers around each engine you made sure to get the cream everywhere. After a minute of massaging you finished up with his right leg. "Tenya I've finished up you can switch legs." You rubbed in the last of the cream on your fingers and expected him to respond, with a glance to his face you saw his eyes shut.
You smiled at the soft snores escaping his parted lips. You can finish the other leg tomorrow when he was more energized. Pausing the show you slowly lift his leg off your lap, careful not to wake him. Tiptoeing across the room to turn off the light and make sure the door was shut all the way.
You slipped yourself back into the bed, cautious not to wake up your sleeping boyfriend. "Good night Tenya, I love you." You mumble before snuggling yourself into the sleeping man beside you.

what are some of your favorite Super Paper Mario headcanons?
I wasn't sure how specific you'd want those to be but I tried to think of a few that I personally enjoy/tend to apply myself!Includes spoilers.
Some general headcanons:
SPM takes longer than than a day/few days (maybe about a month or two)
Flipping into 3D is a nauseating experience and it takes time to fully adjust to it (especially for Mario, he never really managed to get over it).
Pure Hearts emit a comforting aura, a sense of warmth and calm, while the Chaos Heart feels like a thousand voices are whispering in your ear.
Tumblr media
Some character specific headcanons:
Mario finds himself confused and lost more than he ever did in his life during this adventure. His usual confidence and grounded attitude are shaky because almost everything in these other worlds makes no sense to him, which is rather frustrating, especially at the beginning of his journey where he's completely surrounded by strangers and forced into the hero role. (Seriously, Mario couldn't even go home if he wanted to because he's stuck not on an island but between dimentions where he was TELEPORTED IN. There isn't really a door that leads to the Mushroom Kingdom.)
Peach's parasol is hardened by steel and enhanced by magic with a sharp tip at the end. She changed her heels to something more comfortable on the Flipside and put her hair up so it doesn't get in the way during travel and unavoidable combat.
Bowser takes his 'marriage' very seriously. He cares more about Peach than Mario in the team so when she's trouble he'll dash to assist her (he can run when he really wants to huh), but if the red plumber's in trouble he'll pretend to not see it or brush it off. (unless his lovely wife nags him about it).
Tumblr media
Luigi, after landing is the Underwhere, finds lots of stuff in his pockets that he doesn't remember squirreling away like firecrackers, bolts and a small screwdriver. He is in fact very confused.
Count Bleck isn't very emotional. Most of the time he only has one, sad and dull expression. Any type of larger emotion showing through means that you've REALLY pushed it to the extreme.
The minions know the kind person that the Count is deep at heart so they're not put off by his frown, except for Mr.L. A default reaction that the brainwashed soldiers get as a 'bonus' from Nastasia is the highest respect for the Count, yes, but also fear of him. The fear ensures that they are most obedient but it's more of a failsafe than anything. You can imagine how it looks when Mr.L, an exploding and tempered personality, runs around the castle causing havoc like a brat and then suddenly just FREEZES on the spot at the sight of Bleck.
On the topic of the quirks of Nastasias ability, usually a person only needs to be brainwashed once. HOWEVER due to a certain someone who likes to provoke the man in green and his subconscious she is required to sometimes strengthen the control on Mr.L as she doesn't trust the magician with keeping his mouth shut. At one point she directly orders L to actively stay away from the jester, even forcing him to follow her around when she works.
Dimentios poncho and hat are covered in glitter and his mask is porcelain-esque, also the idea of him being the "son of the magician". I just think this theory is quite fitting and I like the thought of him being actually 3000 years old. He's not very popular at the castle but everyone has a silent agreement to not bother him. He however bothers everyone and likes to stare. When he's intrigued he tends to tilt his head slightly.
Mimi enjoys designing clothes and tries to give fashion advice to her teammates (to absolutely no avail because who cares we're literally ending the world, we're evil and depressed blehhhh). She and Dimentio have an 'annoying sibling' dynamic and she wouldn't hold back against him in battle at all for all the times he's messed with her. She also enjoys filing her nails to be super sharp.
Nastasia is a very strict person who takes her duties seriously but she does have a side for fun. You just need to search for it a little.
O'Chunks likes to spar with Mr.L in his free time. Mr.L is in general one of the few people he can do this with since Mimi says that 'she doesn't want to ruin her dress over such a stupid thing' and Dimentio always finds an excuse or simply dissapears.
Post SPM headcanons:
There is little conflict with the neighbouring kingdoms after the void incident. Peach, Mario and Luigi use that free time to have fun and just relax after everything that happened. They need eachothers support for the time being.
'Team Bleck' still meets up often after everything and hangs out. They don't necessarily talk about the Count but it's nice knowing that there are other people who understand what you're feeling right now. *They've been trying to have a full group reunion with Luigi included for some time now. Things are a bit awkward among them but it's still nice when he agrees to come along.
Luigi inherits some of Dimentios mannerisms which shine through from time to time such as laughing patterns, hand gestures and a rather malicious looking grin... A bit more unrelated and physical change is that his hair tends to turn white when he's around strong sources of power. (Dream Stone and Dark Star levels kind of powerful ykyk maybe Super Star as well or stardust in general cause star child origins) and the eyes somewhat darken.
Tumblr media
He's also never really informed about the specifics of his Mr.L and Super Dimentio arc. Mario doesn't really want to burden his brother with something that was in the past and not a necessary in his eyes knowledge since it wasn't truly him.
The Chaos Heart isn't completely gone. It rests, slowly regaining power within it's host, accumulating all the scattered fragments like puzzle pieces. Try all you want but you can never fully get rid of chaos, it's an inescapable force.
I might gather up some more another time but I'd say that's it for now! You might've already heard some of these before but I hope it was at least a good read.

For pro heroes, like Endeavor and Mirko and Kamui Woods and Gang Orca and such, what different names would you give them?
2-3 alternate aliases for some of the top heroes? Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Mirko, Ryukyu, Gang Orca, etc.
So three things here: One is that I don't think there are many issues with the pros' names. So consider theses more as alternatives then replacements. Second, I will only cover the non-teacher pros for this, as they could be their own segment for this. Finally, a lot of these characters don't have much going on, so these some of the names are going to be more generic then meaningful.
Tumblr media
Gang Orca-The Breaching Hero, Blackfish: This is basically just another name for an orca, but I think it can fit him well enough. It's something that makes more sense and is less intimidating then what amounts to "gangster orca", but still has that less then pleasant feel to it.
Best Jeanist-The Seamless Hero, Topstitch: Yes, this is a pretty obvious tie to his overall look and power. However, I think it fits with Best Jeanist's overall attitude as well. That he's such a perfectionist and will only go for the best, whether it be with his looks or his hero work.
Edgeshot-The Kakuremi Hero, Blindfold: While the epithet fits more with his ninja roots, as it refers to the various techniques ninjas would use to blend with their surroundings, the proper name is in line with his Quirk and usage of it, heavily focusing on stealth and folding up his body.
Ms. Joke-The Gutbusting Heroine, Punchline: Look, I know this is already the name of a DC character, but it's one nobody cares about. Punchline is such a perfect name for Ms. Joke as hero. It fits great with her laughing themed power, her pension for fisticuffs, and is certainly a name she'd pick in character
Mt Lady-The Towering Heroine, Highriser: Not only does this fit with her growing power, but her massive ego as well, already positing herself as a top her. However, it can play a double meaning, representing her eventually growing as a character and being better then she was before.
Sir Nighteye:-The Deadline Hero, Director: There's a lot here. There is his epithet, which fits in with his officer worker look and his fatalistic view on his power. We got the name, which fits with the film nature of his power, his role as the operations manager for All Might, and the idea that his power is the thing causing futures to happen.
Lady Nagant-The High Caliber Heroine, Overwatch: I had so many ideas for Lady Nagant, both names and epithets, such as the Hair Trigger or Firearm. But I decided to go with something more in line with her role as a sniper. Overwatching is basically an ally unit, usually from a high position, warns and attacks an enemy before it becomes a threat. Boy, doesn't that sound familiar?
Hawks-The Fly Boy Hero, Wingman: While there are a lot of feather and bird references I could make with Hawks, I decided to go with something more aviation themed. It just fits with his look and secretly fits with his role as an agent. And sure, Red Ace or Red Angel would be more unique, but Wingman works for me because it fits with his desire to support and help other heroes.

for an op izuku story. it could even make aizawa’s reaction towards izuku understandable in a way. smart, powerful midoriya who came 1st in the entrance exam by a country mile, who was quick to make friends and those friends call him “Dekiru” because he can do it. maybe he couldn’t see past the shiny quirk whose only weakness is being TOO STRONG of all things. he’d still be childish and ignorant but more realistic i think. i stumbled upon your post from last year about op izuku and i thought it was a great read
You want to know the interesting thing? That's almost canon.
The thing about Aizawa's introduction to us is that he spends the entire time lying: not just at the end, where he says he was never going to expel anyone and the entire thing was a 'logical ruse'; he goes through about three different excuses for why he's even doing this: first, that they're 'too happy', which was always... deeply fucked up.
Then he zeroes in on Izuku and starts on about how uncontrolled his Quirk is, and combined with his reactions watching the them apply it makes it seem like maybe that's the reason... but after awhile All Might chimes in, and Aizawa unconsciously agrees with him, in that he's doing this because Izuku is like All Might.
The fact that he's a pure-blood product of All Might's Plus Ultra philosophy pisses him off so damn much that he goes through all this to find an excuse to try and kick Izuku out, knowing his Quirk control is terrible... and, as I've discussed before, when peak!human Izuku and his super throw outperforms a girl whose only power is invisibility, he fudges the results to put him at the bottom.
Literally, the the Quirk Test 'arc' is build around Aizawa's vendetta at All Might, Plus Ultra, and, as an extension of them, Izuku. And even if Izuku was actually the second coming of All Might, and, like All Might himself, actually able to use the Quirk from the first minute, All Might makes it clear that, no, he couldn't actually stop Aizawa from kicking out Izuku. Even though he's the Number One Hero.
Because Reasons(TM).
For whatever fucking reason, Eraserhead was given an absurd amount of power involving his students, and I don't think there's canonly anything stopping him from kicking out someone he just doesn't like, and the only reason he didn't kick out Izuku was his weird, twisted ethics that said only breaking a finger was such a big improvement he deserved to stay... and then he did nothing with the whole, 'breaking his finger' thing.
I'm not sure on the exact details, I'd need to brain storm it, but in an OP!AU where Izuku was able to actually use his Quirk I could imagine him constantly trying to test Izuku, looking to undermine him with morals and making the right choice in, like, disaster scenarios and what not (you know, that thing we had implied for five seconds before Shigaraki showed up), trying to make Izuku make the 'wrong' choice so he could have a 'good' reason to expel him, since once upon a time that shit actually mattered.
Have you read Ao No Exorcist? The way Rin was treated always pissed me off, and the fact that pretty much everyone did it kinda drove me away, but that kind of attitude is exactly what I'd imagine for this, where Eraserhead wasn't narratively made the Best Teacher and Izuku was allowed to be great, an attitude of constantly having to earn his place, again and again and again, and passing whatever the most recent test isn't proof that he's 'worthy', but that he's just barely making the absolute minimum.
You know, that, or just the energy Sir Nighteye had in general.
(Fuck Sir Nighteye.)

What are your thoughts on Aizawa?
Personally I feel like his character as a whole was ruined in his first scene during the quirk assessment test by going back on his word to make it a “logical ruse”, targeting Midoriya over his quirk (something I always felt would be tied to class since self destructive quirks aren’t easily trained, especially if you don’t have the funds to own/regularly visit large tracts of private property with easy access to health care. Though UA’s high number of legacy hero’s and high entrance bar means they probably expect somewhat pre-trained kids), and above all keeping on Mineta (someone who constantly disrupts class and leads to an unsafe environment for the female students, limiting how much they’ll learn).
But I’m hella bias and most of that was tied to his first appearance, so I would love to hear your take on his character as a whole
I think almost everything interesting about him was written by Hideyuki Furuhashi, the author of the Vigilantes spinoff. Seriously. That's where Aizawa's backstory is and where Aizawa's characterization is the most consistent. Vigilantes Aizawa deserves the hype he gets.
Aizawa in the main BNHA manga is no favorite of mine. Many of my issues with Aizawa are problems with the narrative generally and the dissonance between how he is described versus his actions.
Aizawa at his core is a guy with a lot of trauma who projects that trauma onto his students. His favor is based on who he thinks is most likely to survive. In that context, on paper it makes sense why he would favor Bakugou and ignore Mineta's everything. Early Bakugou was skilled and didn't take risks that could cause him harm because he was a fundamentally selfish person. Mineta was a coward and not a fool so he was unlikely to die a hero's death.
Aizawa being heavily traumatized itself isn't necessarily a problem; that's some crunchy characterization right there. The problem is that the narrative tries to portray him as the concept of rationality itself in contrast to Izuku/All Might's idealism. That doesn't really work when the origin of Aizawa's attitude also comes from an inherently irrational place.
Also, the story often uses him as a mouthpiece to directly explain to the audience what they should take away from scenes. It particularly stands out when Aizawa is presenting information he has no reason to know or information that should not be new information worth commenting on. (His lines about Shouto during his fight with Bakugou in the Sports Festival is an example of the former and most of his lines during the Provisional Licensing Exam are examples of the latter).
The other issue is that after introducing these two contrasting characterizations of Aizawa as rationality itself and Aizawa as the hero who never got past the horrors he faced as a hero student, a third Aizawa who contradicted both of the prior ones was introduced: Aizawa the doting teacher, Dadzawa. And it just doesn't work with the rest of his character. It might have worked if it was something that developed over time after he was given the task of caring for Eri. But this doting teacher characterization was introduced before that without much explanation. It also feels jarring because this story is largely from Izuku's point of view where Aizawa is largely portrayed as a hostile obstacle to Izuku rather than a teacher concerned for his growth and wellbeing.

Are you feeling about Touya? I can't imagine Horikoshi it would be way too cruel, especially since him and Shouto need to eat soba together.
Feeling hopeful. I know the general consensus in the Dabi fandom right now is fear and despondency but when I look at the overall picture of the story, Touya dying doesn't make any sense and there's a lot of setup for him to survive.
The random guard/whoever saying Touya is heading toward a slow death means nothing to me. Not when Ujiko, the brilliant (but evil) doctor who saved Touya from certain death on Sekoto Peak, was wrong about Dabi's body not surviving a month after he woke up from the coma. The core of Touya's character is literally about survival and determination, going above and beyond to exceed expectations to live and be seen. I also feel that there might be something within Touya that allows him to survive, which is how he has any fire resistance at all. He was crying actual real tears this chapter instead of blood, which hints that his body is healing. I've seen other people theorize that Shouto's Phosphor has healing properties, which is promising and more in line with the stories' themes and messages than Touya dying again.
Overall, the tone of the Todoroki family arc is positive and hopeful. Yes, Fuyumi quit her teaching position, but one of the students' parents helped her find another one. This means that not only does this one parent believe in her, but so does this new employer. And those kindergarteners that Shouto connected with during the remedial license Arc have been supporting him this entire time. These instances show that society is changing their attitude towards the relatives of those who commit crimes and are willing to accept the Todorokis back into society and are literally cheering for them. This doesn't change the fact that some people will definitely hate them, but it's not all doom and gloom. And the soba thing - what a way to connect to someone who was born to replace you! That's a deep connection right there, and that's good. The story has focused a lot on connections and how life-saving and important those can be. Dying would rip that connection and go against the themes
Also, I feel like the Todoroki family would be much more worried and emotionally wrecked if they thought Touya was actually dying. Endeavor keeps talking to Touya about the future and visiting him. Unless all of them are in denial about what is happening, then why would they torture themselves talking about something that can't happen? All these conversations they want to have etc etc. It would be cruel, and Horikoshi is a sensitive guy. I don't think he could write something like that, and it doesn't fit what he's written so far.
To go further than Touya, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Toga and Spinner also on their deathbeds currently too, tbh. I'm thinking that mysterious new character (who is Tenko, no doubt), saved by his regeneration quirk, may help them. There's set up for it via Kurogiri telling Shigaraki his friends are waiting for him, and not to mention Shigaraki's always been the hero of the lov. He might not have saved them emotionally like the hero kids did, but he can save them physically. I'm not sure how exactly it'll all happen but I think they will all be okay in the end.
I know some readers have a different, more critical/negative opinion than I do, and that's fine. Ever since Shigiraki died, I've been saying that it's going to get worse before it gets better and that we're not going to see a resolution to that soon, and that's all been happening. I hate this saying, but, it's not over till the fat lady sings. I'm just going to keep on reading. I keep telling my friends this over and over again but it's kind of like reading the last Harry Potter (author is dead to me) book and stopping/rage quitting when Harry is killed by Voldemort in the forest. Keep reading. The story is not over yet, and a lot can change for the better. Let Horikoshi tell his story.

Drabble-A-Thon Prompt #6
Pairing: Shigadabi
Rating: Explicit
Prompt: From @dahvampire. During Dabi and Tomura's first time together, Dabi thinks that Tomura isn't enjoying himself because he's so quiet and he starts to spiral a bit. Tomura's POV.
Contents: Nipple play, kink negotiation, misunderstandings, mentioned dirty talk, feminization, praise kink, degradation kink.
Tomura doesn’t know if he’s ever felt his arousal this high. He’s been wanting Dabi for months, nearly half a year now, and until Deika, he was pretty damn certain that Dabi was completely uninterested in sex with anyone let alone him. He completely ignored Magne when she’d made her advances, he hadn’t ever seemed to notice the stares he garnered from other villains, he certainly hadn’t ever given him a second look after so bluntly calling him ‘gross’. Tomura really didn’t think he had a chance with him, no matter how badly he wanted Dabi. At first it was all about putting him in his place. Dabi was such a brat, he wanted to break him, on his cock, over his knee, as he choked and gagged with him sunk deep in his throat until he learned his place. But that slipped away the longer that he spent with Dabi.
Dabi isn’t a brat. He has enough attitude to be one when he wants to be, but he only has that kind of attitude when he’s being put on his back foot. If he has the chance to think through what he’s doing, he’s far more direct and straightforward to the point of it being insulting in a whole different way. And Dabi, he found out as they started to plan that very first job, is absolutely desperate to show the people around him that he is powerful, clever, and capable. All he wants is to be told that he’s doing a good job, that he’s exceeding expectations. He doesn’t even need the words. As soon as Tomura started to give him more responsibility, he just started standing straighter, returning to the League again and again eager for his next job because if he did that then he would be able to get the confirmation that he still thought he would be able to succeed at it. He gave him all the responsibility he could, and resigned himself to the fact that Dabi wouldn’t ever want to go to bed with him. That would have been fine. He needs a general first and foremost, he can live without a partner.
And then Dabi had turned to him as they were working and sharing a nightcap in his office and asked if he was a ‘stereotypical gamer bro virgin’. When he’d snorted and told him ‘no’, he really, really hadn’t expected for the other to pin him with blue eyes as bright as his quirk and say, ‘prove it’.
But Tomura was absolutely not about to pass up this opportunity.
He’d barely managed to contain himself and try to get Dabi naked right in his office, but he wants to fuck him properly, and he didn’t have any lube in his office. That’s something that is definitely going to change just in case this becomes a more regular occurrence. But for the time being, Tomura wraps his hands around Dabi’s hips, having wanted to grab hold of him the entire walk back up to their wing and to his bedroom. Dabi’s skin is so warm beneath his palms, even through his coat, and he can’t even wait to get his bedroom door open before he’s kissing him hard and deep. Dabi tangles his hands in his hair, and that feels good. He didn’t realize how much he would like having his hair this long, but he’ll let Dabi pull on it as much as he wants if it means that he gets to stay this close to him. He feels the other fumble to get to the doorknob and tapping into his strength quirk is the only reason that they don’t tumble back into the room when it opens, because he has an arm around Dabi’s waist now, picking him up just enough to get him past the threshold without stumbling, and then kicking the door shut behind them. He doesn’t bother with the lock. Everyone knows that if they come into his room without the heroes or police raiding the place, they’re going to get dusted. Besides, he can’t bother to wait for that when he has his tongue behind Dabi’s teeth and he finally gets to feel the pretty silver stud inside with his own tongue.
He sets Dabi down and his hands go to his suit jacket, and Tomura shrugs out of it, feeling the heat of Dabi’s body leaching into his own. Thankfully, the other follows his lead, his coat making a much louder thud when the heavy cuffs hit the ground, but Tomura just wants him naked as soon as he can get him. He has been wondering for months how far his scars stretch across his skin. He’s wearing a lot more clothes than Dabi, and by the time Dabi is on the edge of the bed, yanking down the zippers on his boots so he can actually get out of his pants, Tomura is very tempted to dust his shirt instead of dealing with the buttons, but after distracting each other a few times with not being able to keep their hands off of their skin, they manage to come back together once they’ve completely stripped, and Tomura is left breathless just from how gorgeous Dabi is.
He already knew that he had muscle cording his arms, could always see how plush his chest was under his shirt, but he is even prettier like this. Narrow waist, flat, toned stomach, the distinct jut of his hip bones going down into the v that leads to his lovely, flushed cock– Tomura thinks that his sanity fractures a little more when he sees the ladder of piercings running along his underside that mirrors his staples and scars. He’s never been bothered by the scars, and in the low light of his room, with Dabi laid out on his sheets, he is stunned with how beautiful he looks with the soft glitter of metal all over his skin.
He doesn’t know what Dabi is into, he normally would ask, would have had a conversation before bringing him into his bed, but he can’t bring himself to slow down because he doesn’t want to break this moment. He doesn’t want Dabi to decide that this is a terrible idea for whatever reason when all he wants is to have Dabi like this as many times as he can. So Tomura throws out any of the harder play, any of the things that he normally does to work up his subs and establish their power dynamic, and focuses on trying to wring every inch of pleasure out of Dabi’s body as he can.
He lavishes his neck in kisses and licks, listening to the way Dabi’s breath hitches in his throat. He moves his hands and mouth down his body, teasing at his nipples– also pierced– that are so sensitive from those, that his hips jump up against him as he moans and his nails scrape over his shoulder. Tomura stays right there, working at his chest until he’s making the prettiest little whimpers for him, every sound hitting his ears and turning into liquid heat that pulses through his body again and again. He moves his hands over his hips when his nipples are pink and swollen, bites his tongue to keep himself from telling him what pretty, sensitive tits he has, and moves to touch his thighs, teasing his hands higher, but not giving him what he wants.
He isn’t sure if he wants to suck him off for the novelty of feeling his piercings against his tongue, or if he wants to ask if he can eat him out before he fucks him, but the words die on his tongue when he sees that Dabi is getting softer, and not becoming the aching mess that he feels like now that he’s finally got him in his bed.
“What’s wrong, baby?” The pet name slips out of him as he looks up at him, “What’s not working for you?” He wants this to be good, he doesn’t want him to not enjoy this as much as he is. He’s not prepared to look up and find that Dabi’s turned his face away from him, trying to hide against his shoulder and in the pillows.
“Fuck off, if you don’t want to do this, then get off of me.”
Tomura’s stomach plummets to the floor. “What?”
“I don’t need a pity fuck, Duster.” Dabi starts to squirm beneath him, and even though he wants nothing more than to have him here, he can’t force him to stay, and Tomura makes himself back off so that Dabi can sit up. “You haven’t made a peep since we left your office. If you’re not enjoying this too, then I’d rather go.”
“Wha– Dabi, I am enjoying this. Firefly, I’ve wanted to fuck you for half a year.” He reaches out for him tentatively and when Dabi doesn’t flinch away, he rests four fingers against his cheek. Dabi doesn’t even flinch, he lets him turn his head to look at him. “Baby boy, I’m just quiet. Normally I talk when I’m in bed with someone, but I didn’t know what you would like. I didn’t want to say the wrong thing and upset you. But I am enjoying myself.” Blue eyes meet his and search, and he hopes that he can see exactly how sincere he’s being.
Dabi leans into his touch a little. “What do you normally say?”
“Depends on the person,” he admits. “Don’t know if you want to be praised, degraded, called my good boy, my baby girl, my pet–”
Dabi pushes his hand away, but his reaches to thread itself in the hair across the name of his neck, pulling him closer. “You’re a fucking pervert,” but as he draws him in again, he sees a blush starting to work itself across his cheeks and his cock is getting harder.
“Yeah,” he agrees, nosing against his cheek before pressing kisses to that growing color. “But you liked one of those. Which one was it, firefly? What do you want to be for me tonight, Dabi?”
He runs his hands up Dabi’s thighs, making him spread them wider again. “Should I suck my baby’s pretty cock, or eat out my princess’s greedy pussy?” Dabi’s temperature creeps up another few degrees and his cock twitches distinctly to give him his answer. “Mm, guess I’m not the only pervert here.”
Dabi pulls at his hair in retaliation. “I think I liked it better when you were being quiet!”
Tomura knows he’s lying, because he doesn’t end up letting him do either, preferring his hands on his cock and working inside of him so that he can press in close and keep his lips against the shell of his ear as he tells him every filthy thing that he has wanted to do to him over the past half a year and earning a symphony of delicious sounds for his trouble.
Thanks so much for participating! If you'd like to join in, consider checking out my ko-fi here!

You ever think about how Horikoshi gave us like five seasons/however many fucking chapters to build up Bakugou’s relationship with Jeanist and then when there was a really great opportunity for an emotional payoff he just didn’t do that. Like okay I am a big Edgeshot fan, I like Edgeshot for a lot of reasons, and I think his character was very underutilized throughout the series, but I also don’t think this needed to be his moment. I understand that the general intention with choosing Edgeshot to save Bakugou was to go “look!!! This is a hero acting heroically and it doesn’t even involve an emotional attachment to the person being saved!!!” but… this is immediately undermined by the Edgeshot-Jeanist flashback sequence. He doesn’t have an emotional attachment to Bakugou, but this is still being done with personal motivations not solely related to heroism for the sake of heroism. In some capacity, we are being suggested that it is partly out of his bond with Jeanist that he is making this sacrifice in order to save someone he knows Jeanist cares about. Which is fine, and I enjoy the flashback scene for a number of reasons, but again, this undermines the point of making it purely selfless. So, if the sacrifice being made is not truly from a purely selfless motivation,
Why was it not Jeanist ??
Again, five seasons of build up on this relationship. Yes, most of it happens in the background/side plots, or it is vaguely implied offscreen, but it very much is the case that they have a relationship. This is Bakugou’s non-teacher mentor figure in the series, and it is clear that in spite of his standoffish “I don’t like anyone ever” attitude, Bakugou does actually seem to like him. He seems to have learned some things. The two have some neat parallels with each other. It’s a good, solid relationship even if it isn’t the most deeply explored thing in the series.
So… this was the opportunity for an emotional payoff. A culmination of their relationship with something that actually matters to happen between them, which really hadn’t happened in the series since they first met. It is a bit harder to come up with something equally impactful to a literal sacrifice of one’s life, but again… this concept was also immediately undermined with the original scene as well which really removes any of the draw of including it in the first place. It’s great that, in theory, Edgeshot was willing to die for him. This did not actually happen, though, which cheapens the entire thing and, in my opinion, makes it pointless to even include. Either actually kill the character you are killing, or don’t bother fake-killing them if you don’t want them dead. I’m perfectly fine with a death fake out (Jeanist has multiple of these that I actually enjoy), but in a high stakes emotional climax? Bad time for that and just feels pointless.
I can think of at least two good ways to get that payoff I’ve been talking about, and if I can come up with alternative plot lines, I really feel like Horikoshi could too. Edgeshot being willing to do a heroic thing that ultimately has no consequences for a generally vague reason (because Horikoshi doesn’t choose to really… explain much of anything about who Edgeshot is or why he does fucking anything ever) doesn’t really add anything new to this story. He’s a pro hero who does the heroic thing because he’s a pro hero, and also that’s his best friend’s weird little surrogate child figure, I guess. It just doesn’t feel satisfying so much as “here’s a guy with a quirk that maybe could solve this situation if you squint and suspend your disbelief really hard.” It just seems like such a missed opportunity, not only to explore one of the deuteragonist’s important relationships, but to have a scene that really adds something to the themes of the story.

How would you have redeemed Bakugou?
I'm glad you asked😈
So, this actually isn't a very hard question to answer. Bakugou should have been an easy character to redeem as a) he's young and b) he embodies everything wrong with society so as our main character resolved (or should have resolved) to change that, it should have been easy to change Bakugou along the way. Let me break it down.
Class 1A doesn't like Bakugou A big point of contention for not only Bakugou but 1A as characters is the fact that he's explicitly awful to Izuku (and them even if it isn't as bad) and half of 1A doesn't care while the other half outright admires him. Kirishima and Mina especially as a later point of both their characters is that they don't like bullies, yet they end up as part of his friend group and take his verbal abuse.
I would have kept up a general indifference/disdain for Bakugou that was showed at the beginning of the show. Kaminari (another one who ends up as part of his group unfortunately) clowning him should have been kept up the entire series, as well as Tsu pointing out how awful and annoying he is. Bakugou's attitude should have kept him ostracized from the majority of the class.
Because Kirishima is a big part of the reason Bakugou starts to change, I would keep him Bakugou's friend. But he doesn't tolerate any of Bakugou's disrespect and consistently calls him out.
Uraraka and Iida defend Izuku from Bakugou This kind of ties in to the first point, but I think Uraraka and (especially) Iida should have shown more concern. Bakugou's behavior isn't normal and I think the two of them of all people should have been aware of that. I mean, you see your friend who doesn't defend himself and looks terrified for his life being yelled at and assaulted by someone with a dangerous quirk and you don't do anything?
I feel like for who Iida is, he would look down on that and would make the effort to chew Bakugou out. Izuku's friend constantly calling something out would stress to him (and the audience) the fact that how Bakugou treats him isn't okay and shouldn't be condoned.
Aizawa chews him out Unfortunately, Aizawa has to give Izuku a hard time because that's who his character is, but he should have been just as hard (if not harder) on Bakugou. Bakugou, who has been careless with his quirk and has deliberately disobeyed his instructors. Bakugou, who threw a literal temper tantrum at the Sports Festival. Bakugou, whose actions put fellow classmates in danger.
I've said this before, but it's so insane to me that he consistently sticks up for Bakugou while actively talking down to Izuku. You would think that Bakugou would be the kind of hero Aizawa hates.
He loses to Todoroki (or Uraraka or Shinsou) Him losing would be the start to him having to deal with failure. He should have been humbled this early in the show. It would have also been a great segway into him learning that saving people should be a hero's top priority, not being the best. Winning isn't everything and it should be the last thing on a hero's mind.
And I know the whole point in canon is that he didn't get to win the way he wanted to, but that doesn't negate the fact that he still won and was regarded at the best in 1A.
His actions at the Sports Festival turn pros away Idk about anyone else, but I would not want a walking PR liability nightmare in my agency. He threw a temper tantrum on live television. He attacked his unconscious, defenseless opponent and had to be knocked out. Why on Earth was he still given so many offers (over 3,000 is beyond ridiculous, I would even say Todoroki's number was dumb too)? And the fact that Tokoyami and Iida were given way less offers is just insulting, they got third place.
This would have been a good time to stress that his actions have consequences and that he can't do and say whatever he wants and still get everything.
The fact that everyone- students, teachers, and pros- are so desensitized to his attitude and behavior is extremely concerning (especially for the teachers and pros).
Best Jeanist teaches him more I appreciate Best Jeanist's efforts, but let's be real he focused way too much on Bakugou's style. I give him leeway because he isn't a teacher (and still did way better than Aizawa), but Bakugou needed a reality check. He should have been more focused on teaching Bakugou and telling him why his attitude needed to change.
(He also should have been kept around for the work studies. Bakugou didn't spend nearly enough time with him. And why is it that the only adult who genuinely wanted Bakugou to be better past getting stronger the one who had to "die" and disappear? Any other hero could have been used and it wouldn't have changed anything)
Bakugou doesn't pass the final exam This has been said a lot so I won't go into how he passed and Sero didn't, but the fact that his actions here went completely unchecked is disgusting. He was deliberately uncooperative and assaulted his teammate and somehow still passed? Excuse me? Aizawa has expelled students for less, but Bakugou didn't immediately fail? Anyone else would have been suspended at the very least.
Bakugou needs to be held to the same standard as everyone else. Giving him special treatment just enables his terrible behavior.
Aizawa actually admits fault in allowing Bakugou's behavior to go unchecked and actually makes good on his promise to fix it The fact that Aizawa spent that press conference deflecting from the actual issue is extremely annoying. Yeah, Bakugou works hard. So do all your students and you're not singing their praises. Not a word about Izuku who literally works out during class whenever he can. Not a word about Uraraka who learned hand-to-hand combat.
That all means squat diddly when Bakugou has repeatedly broken rules and received less than a slap on the wrist for it. Using how hard he works as an excuse is a copout, especially when it was his own actions that got him kidnapped in the first place. He knew he wasn't supposed to confront the LOV and insisted on it anyway.
Todoroki doesn't fail the provisional licensing exam For once, Bakugou has to face the full consequences of his actions on his own. And this is where he really starts to ponder if Best Jeanist was right and that his behavior isn't becoming of a hero. If everyone else passed and he didn't, doesn't that mean that he really is doing something wrong?
(Personally, I would make it so that he would have to try against in his second year, but that's subjective)
Bakugou doesn't get to know about OFA Instead of rewarding his terrible behavior, All Might should have given him a reality check. That being strong isn't what makes a hero. That Izuku earned One For All because of his heart. That the toxic ambition that Bakugou has is what helped shape Endeavor into a monster (let's pretend he knows about the Todorokis) and that he's going down the same road.
And this would be the turning point for Bakugou. What makes him stop and look at himself in the mirror and realize that he doesn't want to end up like that. That he doesn't want to be a monster.
And that's when everything I mentioned before finally clicks for him. This is where Bakugou really starts to change, and not because he forced his way into knowing a secret that was none of his business. But because he's being forced to realize that his actions aren't hero material.
This is where Bakugou begins to actually put in the effort to change. Not to get him what he wants, but because it's the right thing to do.
(None of that save to win bullshit)
Small, but meaningful changes Bakugou begins to be more mindful of his behavior. It's nothing big, but he makes an effort to stop insulting his classmates. If he starts, he stops himself. If he does, he owns up to it and apologizes.
He drops the shitty nicknames and starts to show the bare minimum of respect towards his classmates. He leaves Izuku alone. He takes it upon himself to go to Aizawa (not that I think canon Aizawa would be much help, but let's pretend for the sake of this) and ask how he can improve. He makes the genuine effort to change and improve. He actually gets better.
Accountability Bakugou confesses what he did to Izuku to Kirishima. Kirishima is rightfully upset and chews him out, but understands that Bakugou is genuinely trying to change. He tells him that he needs to find a way to apologize.
And Bakugou does. He apologizes to Izuku privately and owns up to everything. Not just in Aldera, but everything that happened in UA too. He shows actual remorse and sincerity, no excuses or reasons and no sugarcoating. Just a real apology owning up to the fact that there was no justification or logic behind his behavior and a promise that he will be better.
And Izuku thanks him. He doesn't accept or refuse it, he just says thank you.
1A somehow overhears. And Izuku's friends give Bakugou a piece of their mind. The rest of the class is rightfully horrified and upset. This leads to Bakugou being even further ostracized from the class (they aren't mean to him or anything, but they don't like to be around him).
Save to Save Bakugou's arc comes to completion when he risks his life to save someone. Not Izuku, just someone, anyone. Someone who needed to be saved. It isn't even during the PLA War or any other significant event, it's a random occurrence. He doesn't think about it, his body just moves. He saves that person successfully, and then collapses from his injuries.
Maybe he lives, maybe he dies. Who knows? That's not the important thing. What's important is that it signifies that he really did change by willingly giving up his chance of being the #1 to do the right thing.
That is how I would have redeemed Katsuki Bakugou.

Note
what are class 1-a's (and 1-b's, if you want to include them) childhood favorite heroes and what are their current favorite heroes (if it changed)?
Hello! I do actually have them in my notes, though I don't have it for 1-B. Sorry, but I can do 1-A!
-
Aoyama Yuuga: All Might. No question, he loves the way All Might presents himself, and how he smiles in the face of despair. All Might is the pinnacle of heroism, in his eyes
Ashido Mina: Ryukyu. She thinks of her as an absolute icon, adoring her humble attitude, yet her ferocity in battle. Plus, all those clips of her being soft with children helped fuel her adoration
Asui Tsuyu: Gang Orca. Along with his aquatic-based quirk, she indentifies with his past, which he's open about, admitting how people would mock and bully him for being mutant, but strived towards heroics to help others accept their traits
Bakugou Katsuki: All Might. Mostly due to his strength and how he never loses. Alas, his ultimate dream is to surpass All Might and become the strongest, though this conflicts how he percieves All Might as unbeatable
Hagakure Tooru: Gunhead. It's less due to his strength or achievements, and more due to how threatening and strong he looks, only to be absolutely adorable in all the interviews. She loves that dichotomy
Iida Tenya: Ingenium, as if there is another option. In his eyes, Ingenium is the ideal hero. While he may not be as strong as All Might, or taken down as many villains as Endeavour, he will always see his brother as the best there could be
Jirou Kyouka: Present Mic. His tenacity, his never-ending joy, his pure enthusiasm, everything. She adores it all, and when he speaks up about how music can save people just as much as heroes do, it solidifies her choice of favourite hero
Kaminari Denki: Endeavour, (subject to change), due to how strong he is, and how many villains he's taken down. As someone with a dangerous quirk, Denki sees Endeavour's Hellfire and admires how he's able to control it so easily, especially with his flaming beard
Kirishima Eijirou: Crimson Riot, all the way through. His manliness, his view on courage, his inspirational speeches towards the newer generation. Maybe Crimson Riot isn't as well known as modern-day heroes, but he will forever be Eijirou's number one
Kouda Kouji: Hound Dog. While he may appear threatening, Hound Dog genuinely cares about others, and takes pride in his counselling job, (unlike canon). Plus, he has an animal-based quirk and Kouji adores all animals. Apart from bugs
Midoriya Izuku: Of course, All Might. Not just his strength, or his no-lose win streak, (apart from AfO), but his actions. The way he inspires everyone, his yearn for peace, his unwavering smile. His message of: anyone can become a hero. Even after All Might says no, Izuku still greatly admires him
Mineta Minoru: Midnight. Yes, groan all you want. He admires how, rather than just using her looks for popularity, she weaponises it, using it to distract men, (and women), getting their guards down. For once, he admires something other than physique
Ojirou Mashirao: Swinger. He's an original hero, who has a monkey mutation. He's very crafty in the way he uses his mutation. He inspired a lot of Mashirao's moves, and helped him look past his bullies
Satou Rikidou: Lunch Rush. His stance on cooking helped Rikidou find pride in his baking, and his upbeat attitude. The fact that he cooked a full-course French meal for up to ten-thousand people says a lot, and Rikidou admires it
Sero Hanta: Spiderguy. He would have called himself Spiderman, but it'd been copyrighted long before. His use of webbings to capture criminals and to swing across the city inspires Hanta to use his own quirk in similar ways
Shouji Mezou: Godzillo. Ever since he was little, he liked watching his interviews about how he was bullied for his appearance when he was young and strove to be a hero to help others accept themselves. It helped him strive to become a hero
Todoroki Shouto: At first, he doesn't really have one. He doesn't really admire heroes, when the only one he's had a close look at is Endeavour and, well... This is subject to change
Tokoyami Fumikage: Hawks, (subject to change). He admires his strive, how he became such a high-ranking hero at such a young age. His creativity with his quirk is also an inspiration
Uraraka Ochako: A la canon, Thirteen. They're the staple of resuce-based heroics, and both of their quirks affect force. Plus, Thirteen isn't ashamed to admit to being brought up poor, which Ochako identifies with
Yaoyorozu Momo: Miruko, no question. She loved her ferocity in battle, and while she dislikes her lack of cooperation, she still admires her strength in battle, and how her status inspires a generation of women and women in heroics

Thanks for the ask!

i've been ruminating for about 18 hours now so here are my ch 429 thoughts:
i think, looking at some of my mutuals, i'm having a....weird reaction maybe lol. like i guess a benefit of this not being like a formative fandom that i've been in for years means that my emotional attachment to these characters is a little different to people who have literally grown up alongside them. but like. i still haven't watched the spn finale so i totally get the emotions people are feeling even if that's not my specific experience with this specific fandom. frustration is valid!
i just feel like, before the end of izuku vs shigaraki i would have expected a much different epilogue, but after the way that horikoshi ended that battle i feel like everything has been...pretty much what i expected? like reading through my reaction to that fight i was like 'i hope deku stays quirkless and he spends the rest of his life fighting for the promise he made shigaraki' and so in some ways my hopes have been met. like, did i want a different outcome? yeah. did i have to drastically readjust my hopes for this series over the course of the epilogue? also, yeah.
but like, a lot of this is the best i could have hoped for from izuku based on the ending we got to the fight in 423.
as for the rest of the league of villains--i keep thinking about what pikahlua said about the league of villains specifically being modeled on different japanese ghosts. so in a way, they 'achieved' what they wanted and then they were 'exorcised' via death. like. intellectually, i get the trope. i know i've said this but it just. it sucks and it's really bleak that that's the direction horikoshi decided to go but like. i get what he's trying to accomplish there.
so after that really long ramble, actual reactions to 429. i've read it a few times now, so i feel a bit more equipped to give thoughts rather than first impressions. and i may pull some of this out from behind a read more later, we'll see
i mentioned last week that i wished horikoshi had given us some other indication that the general public's attitude was changing toward people with mutation or villainous quirks--that they were willing to jump in to help people who couldn't help them in return, and not just to lend a hand to the heroes--and the wrap-up of the unknown child storyline this chapter did a lot of that, so i guess he was probably saving the reveal for now. it is important to show that it's not just izuku reaching out, it's all of society chipping in because that was the whole point, that society was complacent and judgemental and rotten and needed to change. so like! that makes a lot of sense and i did feel a little silly for being surprised by it because of COURSE this would be the avenue for showing that anyone can be a hero.
that being said, i'm a little...on the fence about the decentering of izuku from this narrative. because the reveal that none of his classmates know he's losing his quirk kind of threw me for a loop. on the one hand it makes sense bc izuku is, well. he's izuku. but on the other hand, nagant mentioned 'will society learn from what deku showed us' but really, when i think about it, what did deku show them if no one knew he was losing his quirk? they didn't see inside the mindscape with shigaraki and izuku--they didn't see him take his hand, or the fist bump later. what they saw was a bloody fight with a kid with a powerful quirk. a kid who kept getting up, yes. a kid who needed the help of everyone to get to the villain, yes. but also a kid who by all appearances used his powerful quirk to vaporize a powerful villain. what are they learning from this if they don't know izuku gave his quirk away? and how did they learn shigaraki's story later? did izuku share it? i don't know! i can't think too hard about it or it falls apart.
i did appreciate the shift from 425-now, where when izuku first woke up, he specifically said he couldn't save tenko. and then he was unsatisfied and visited spinner and said he'd never forget tomura shigaraki. and then here in this chapter he started to say tenko and then switched to tomura. it really feels like this--tomura's personhood and life and experiences--has been something izuku's been ruminating on ever since the battle, that this is something that his understanding of is evolving. even if we only get the barest notion of it when he expresses to uraraka that he feels similarly to her.
speaking of, uraraka. man. i appreciated izuku's tribute to her, and him calling her his hero and taking her hand was really really sweet. i literally don't care about ships so seeing some people being nasty about these guys comforting each other in a scene that has been narratively set up since their first talk was like...come on. come onnnn guys take your ship goggles off long enough to at least recognize that these two are important to each other and needed to have this talk.
also, the evolution from uraraka going off alone, feeling alone, feeling like she has to be okay because her friends aren't, telling izuku not to look at her, and then ending that scene with the whole class supporting her and telling her she could lean on them and she didn't have to smile in front of them was really heartwarming. like. she is a character that hides behind a smile a lot so this was deserved.
i think hawks just. expanding the billboard to add heroic figures completely misses the point, because the billboard was a symptom of the rot, and the hounding for higher spots on the billboard was literally a symbol for the superficiality of the hero industry. like. BARE MINIMUM i would have hoped for the billboard to be thrown out altogether, so this solution seems really dumb. the whole 'i don't want to not celebrate them and only punish them' also makes no sense. you don't have to rank people to celebrate them doing their job well. there's more to say but like. y'all get it.
aoyama's goodbye party, specifically eri headbanging on stage, made me smile. our kids deserve to not have to worry about the world for a moment, and i was glad to see the twinkle boy one last time.
there's still the epilogue next week so who knows what will happen then. in the meantime, i think i need to think some more about what the role of a hero has been in this story, and what horikoshi is telling us it should be/will evolve into, and also what i think it should be. because i think those may be different things. idk we'll see!!

My Hero Academia! Avatar Au
I’m currently getting back into My Hero Academia and since I’m brain broken for Avatar I can’t help but think about what everyones quirk would be so here we go!
Jake- Dumb Luck. This one is going to take some explaining. A few years back I thought about what my quirk would be based off the rules of the world for MHA. Those being that your powers kinda influence your personality. And I came to the conclusion that mine would be dumb luck. Like you get a gut feeling to not step on an ant while walking down the street and that somehow creates a chain reaction that leads to you effortlessly stopping a robbery or something. I think this idea perfectly fits Jake.
Neytiri- Perfect aim. Original I thought a fire quirk but that’s pretty simple. Perfect aim is exactly what it says on the tin until she awakens her quirk giving her the ability to control projectiles with her mind, still always hitting her target.
Quaritch- I see him has endeavor light. Just as big of an ass hat, just as undeserving of calling himself a hero, but without the family abuse. I’m kinda at a crossroads with what quirk he’d have. I could see it being either, an explosion quirk like Bakugo, or some kind of metal quirk. Just generally something really harsh and destructive.
Spider- my head says make him quirkless but my heart won’t let me 😭. So maybe he’s born quirkless but Quaritch unwilling to accept that makes a deal with All for One. The darker version of this idea would be Quaritch hunting down someone with a similar quirk to himself, having All for One transfer the power to a young Spider, then killing the pour person. The less dark but still sad version of this idea is that Spider’s mom Paz is dying and so she has her air quirk transferred to her son before passing on.
Neteyam- hear me out, I think he’d be the Eraserhead of this au. Eraserhead might not be the power house fighter (though he is capable and totally badass) but he is hands down the m.v.p of every fight he’s in. He keeps everyone as safe as possible, while also having the biggest target on his back. He’s the reason everyone makes it home.
Kiri- girl already has superpowers. Whatever she’s got going on in the movie (I have no idea what to properly call it. Nature manipulation? Energy manipulation?) that’s her power here too.
Lo’ak- again I’m of two minds. I think he could either have some kind of speed quirk (he’s got the attitude for it) or talk to animals (oh payakan you’re my only friend).
Tuk- Bubbles. She can create these super strong bubbles that are super fun to jump on and play with as a kid but when she’s older they can also be used to protect someone by incasing them in the bubble and floating them away, or capturing an enemy.
I’m going to stop there but if you want other characters I’m happy to share more ideas and I’d also love to hear everyone else’s ideas too. These are just fun thoughts I had while watching MHA and I’m curious to see what everyone else thinks 💙

Don't mind me I'm just talking into the void trying to get this off my brain haha (if my ramblings about this au get annoying I'll start marking it as like #silvertongueau so peeps can just mute the word)
if people want to chat about it please sends asks I want to yap about this more LOL
silvertongue = Reigen gets blackmailed to becoming UA's quirk counselor by Nedzu (the starting point of the fic) [set a year after the Confession Arc in MP100]
coldheart = [set in-between silvertongue & the start of UA's school year i.e. yes even before the Sludge Villain Incident] The candidates that aced the UA Recommendation Exams are required to pass another interview before they are fully accepted into UA. Three of four candidates manage to pass. The fourth, well, Todoroki Shoto isn't very pleased to attend mandatory quirk counseling sessions if he wants to make it into UA.
goldsoul = [set after coldheart; UA's school semester begins] (follow up sorta Mob-centric to let shenanigans ensue. of course Mob has his own troubles to worry about, but well, those are spoilers if I ever get to writing this looool)
More rambling below lmfao
Originally I was going to do a follow-up fic in Mob's perspective (goldsoul is sitting there waiting for me to elaborate on how Mob's doing smh) but then it sorta hit me that I could definitely get away with one of the students going to quirk counseling before BNHA starts lol
I was also contemplating dragging Momo into it but her stresses and issues don't really crop up until she's actively attending UA. Tokage and Honenuki seem to have their wits about them so idt there's anything that needs to be acknowledged there for the time being (but don't worry 1-B does get some adventures in the future, yes, I'm looking at you Monoma). Inasa doesn't actually accept UA's offer even after passing the exams so he doesn't have to go through the extra interview.
Shoto gets stuck with being the first "test-run" of this quirk counseling. Reigen is bullshitting and trying to figure out how tf this is going to work (he may be overthinking this a lil he def can handle this) and Shoto doesn't want to be here. At all.
[people need people though, and well, what does shoto want? too focused on his past he can't live the present the way it can be. your life is your own keeps just, echoing in my ears that is def some advice pre-UA shoto needs to hear. midoriya handles it in canon but uh. obviously canon will explode here LOL]
In the meantime coldheart is meant to set up more background events that I was contemplating on using goldsoul to introduce (I think coldheart works better for it ngl). Playing fast-loose with some adopted Teru as well as better establishing how I handle espers in relation to quirks here.
I also def need to get the scene of Tome and Teru trying to help Reigen and Serizawa decorate the UA office out of my head cause I feel like that shit is just comedy. Shenanigans ensue lmaooo (god I need to think about quirks for Tome n other non-espers ughhh)
Other ideas sitting on the back burner for this AU:
Toga (oml there def has to be an entry about her. part of the reason why this AU is on my brain is her backstory in general. let a professional [even if Reigen is stretching the term A Lot] reach out a hand and let her know her quirk, her entire being is normal. Reigen wouldn't bat an eye at her quirk and obsessions because she's just a kid and no one actually tried to help her ;-;)
Midoriya (overthinking the whole Reigen & Midoriya are quirkless but I think he just might need to hear that quirkless can make it in this world? he's so determined to be a hero and sure he has an answer as to why but has he thought about life outside of heroism? it also gets my brain whirring about if Reigen would want to be a hero in this type of universe back when he was a kid. hmm)
Bakugou (feel like these two would have a silly dynamic in their meetings; at first it's just "okay knock off that attitude, get off that powerful quirk high horse" "stfu" but then canon happens and welp Reigen has another traumatized kid to help. thinking about reigen having to undo a good chunk of past quirk counseling that really did nothing but inflate bakugou [alongside his general upbringing of course] so it will be. interesting.)
Iida (unironically I think Reigen is stealing Hound Dog's job at this rate if he's just telling kids from hero families "hey you def need to like, take a step back and think about this reasonably. don't worry about following family legacy; what do you want" and not really focusing on the quirk side of the problem but uh, wcyd)
Shinsou (yes I def think he's the next kid dragged into this mess in goldheart.)
brief flashbacks in some of Mob Psycho's earlier arcs just to give a perspective on how things get changed with both verses colliding here (I hinted at it in silvertongue but yes, people are very much concerned about wtf happened in Seasoning City about a year ago. Not just the Incident but the World Domination Arc & the Divine Tree got a bunch of eyebrows raised. HPSC fumbled the bag on not checking in sooner but there's also some other hijinks that lowkey saved the day there)
right some clarification on how Spirits n Such runs while Reigen has to juggle this extra job (Serizawa locks in: the section). Thinking that I won't sideline Serizawa here either cause they're a team. Tome abuses the shit out of getting on UA's campus for this stuff [Shou/Ritsu/etc do too looool] until security gets stricter & dorms come in (which uh, hmm, Reigen will have a Time there)
There are also some benefits Reigen didn't consider until he sees them directly lol (an extra paycheck... yes, Reigen can get a better apartment >:3 and well that may help with beginning the Toga section unironically LOL)
there are a ton of traumatized kids trying to become heroes and Reigen is just "why are we turning children into soldiers jfc let them be kids" but puts up with it for the time being cause of the deal he reached with Nedzu after the whole, uh, blackmail thing.
[there are prob a ton of ideas to run with but I am exhausted lmao]
