it's been a while since i tried looking, but i did hear that something like this happens last year and over time started to think, "was it a fluke?" bc no one posted footage or caps of it then, and i aimed for a completionist run in my first playthrough. turns out it's real! and definitely shines a new light on a character that, for most other types of playthroughs, will not give this much emotion! i really liked sh2 remake but I didn’t like how they portrayed maria😞 she looks like she works at the bank and i feel they just??? did her character wrong?? in the og, she looked and FELT more confusing and out of place, which was basically the intended goal because all the ‘born from jame’s thoughts abt mary’ and stuff. she seemed so eerie and something you couldn’t quite understand, especially with the way she spoke and acted.

id also like to point out the lack of confidence in the remake. although its something you could easily brush past, i feel as though it added to maria’s character with how she just DIDNT care, lmfao. maybe thats just because it was a ps2 game, but it almost felt taunting with how while you were getting jumped by nurses she would just stand on the side (or in the way lol) with a hand on her hip.

BASICALLY..i wish they looked into maria’s design more. plus, there are theories that because maria is wearing someone else’s clothes (christina aguilera) that its the first hint that shes ‘pretending’ to be a different person (mary). in the og, it felt as if her actions were all carefully created in order to mess the fuck out of jame’s thoughts and feelings, and the player!!!! the remake didn’t really FEEL like maria.

Like, he'll try and turn them into strategies to use on the job, takes, uhm, 'notes', (tactical doodles,) sets up nerdy models using a whiteboard map and improvised figurines, uses these examples when he does those psyche-up pre-battle speeches or during strategy meetings.

'Cause I bet he does, I bet he does that, and it completely kills the momentum of the movie to the point where the rest of the team gets disinterested and slowly leaves him behind to do their own thing.

I genuinely bet Engie wouldn't though, nah, I bet he's enough of a patient kind of gentle kind of man willing to stick through these pauses 'cause he's just that into the movie. And maybe he's just a teeny bit into Soldier's dissections of actiony chaos. Maybe gleans a bit of an understanding of Soldier's thinking that way. Admires the guy's passion about his 'research,' how thoughtfully he gathers details in an effort to help the team. Starts mixing in tapes for these sorts of movies more regularly to their movie night pool maybe subconsciously, maybe on purpose. The rest of the team doing their own movie night. losers.

Kudos to this ask leading to me staring at my Fallen London inventory for an alarmingly long time. What a fascinating question.

That's so dependent on what implications the existence of some of these items would have, whether they'd keep all their qualities or be diminished when exposed to our world, and also how the more abstract items in Fallen London would be handled. Does a key to a Handsome Townhouse grant me ownership of an actual townhouse somewhere?

Think about it.

He’s an elemental so the shard likely wouldn’t burn him.

He could gain more fire powers, the flames that make up his body possibly turning white or blue with how hot his temperature has become.

Ashton has an arm made of lava rock which could be a perfect perch for the wielder of the fire shard.

If Ashton and Mister are near each other perhaps it gives them a benefit for their elemental connection.

It would be much easier for them to sneak around since they’re one person and a monkey.

Perhaps Fearne could still gain an ability since she is tethered to Mister.

I dunno, I just think Mister makes the most sense to me.
