Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine grape variety that originated in the Bordeaux region of France. It is one of the most popular white wine grapes in the world, and for good reason. Sauvignon Blanc is known for its crisp, refreshing acidity and its flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, and grass. These characteristics make it a great wine to enjoy on a hot day or with a meal. If you are looking for a versatile wine that you can enjoy with a variety of foods, Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent choice.

Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio, is one of the world's most well-known white grape varieties. Ironically, the best expressions of it — the age-worthy Grand Cru bottlings from Alsace and the increasingly compelling ones from Oregon's Willamette Valley — aren't the most famous. That title belongs to the often bulk-produced Pinot Grigios of northern Italy. These are among the most popular white wines in the world, and what they tend to lack in complexity and depth, they generally make up for in uncomplicated taste. Even though wine professionals tend to frown on those particular big-brand bottlings, they don't represent the whole story: Producers like Silvio Jermann and Cantine Terlan, among others, make Italian Pinot Grigio of serious accomplishment. In other words, the world of Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are far more complicated, in the best possible sense, than they get credit for.

Chardonnay
Chardonnay is a white grape variety that is widely planted around the world. It has an almost preternatural ability to both express the land in which it's grown and showcase the style of the winemaker. Because of that, Chardonnay can be a bit of a chameleon, covering the full spectrum from crisp and refreshing to velvety and generous. It's even one of the main grape varieties responsible for Champagne. No matter where your tastes fall, there is a Chardonnay that will likely fit the bill.

A more direct redraw for winter-break-redraw-a-thon #2 of ??? As before, original under the cut oh yeah woo yeah
The quality on this original is particularly crusty I think because my room was dark and idk. From either late 2019 or early 2020 at the very beginning of my art style transition when things were very much AWKWARD. I wouldn’t start drawing ears until I drew fan art of Grace from infinity train
This is an old oc named… robin? I think? I don’t remember much of her backstory other than it was unnecessarily edgy because I was ✨17✨. If I had to guess based on the few drawings of her and her husband (who I chose not to draw because if I did he’d look too similar to current oc Finn’s brother) she was a disgruntled housewife either from the 1950s or early 1900s— I seemed to flip flop— who loved to manipulate her husband into committing crimes with her. Loved her for a hot minute. I think parts of her backstory got recycled for Emmeline and Heidi’s backstory lol
#also where my love of plant motifs started whoop whoop#also around the time I rediscovered the decemberists because I got Spotify and my art and brain fundamentally changed#I credit the decemberists for where my art is today thank you thank you#her husband had orchid symbolism specifically because of the line ‘your arms full of lullabies orchids and wine’ from the tain pt iv#🗣️ YOUR MEMORIES WRAPPED WITHIN PAPER AND TWINE!!! THE ROOM THAT YOU LIE IN IS DUSTY AND HARD SLEEPING SOFT BABIES ON PILES OF YARD OF GI—#now the only lyric from the tain I use for ocs is either ‘darling dear what have you done’#and also love a ‘and damn all the angles that oppress my sight / I will bleed your heart through a samovar soon’ because wow cool#my art#digital art#procreate#artists on tumblr#digital illustration#illustration#original art#my ocs#doodle#art#drawing#redraw#old art#oc#old oc#original character#original character art#oc art#digital drawing#artwork#oc artwork

there were parts of that life that I loved, but they were all the parts that I'm able to re-create for myself here and now with my little life: the theater, good wine, parties, fine dining. none of that is financially inaccessible if you know how to navigate it. and its infinitely more fun with people who are actually real and who are working the same limited budget. I'm not jealous of rich people. I have more fun down here in smoke filled dive bars. I don't hate the rich because I'm jealous. I hate them because they're awful.
#and I've got friends who have done basically the same shit here in the US. and we all bitch and moan about how similar it all is#I worked fine dining and wine sales for years so that's a space that a) I'm fundamentally comfortable in#and b) know a lot of people who give me shit for free#that is the secret to budget fine dining

The Château Coufran vineyard is located to the north of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, a town neighbouring Saint-Estèphe in the Pauillac area. It stretches across a hillside, with its highest point at 21 metres in altitude. It is composed of a single 76-hectare block, with soils primarily made up of gravel and clay.

the accounts of Humphrey Duke of Gloucester's deaths are like:
"we don't know how he died. Some said he just got really sad and just died, just like how Henry IV and Edward IV said Richard II and Henry VI got really sad and just died. Some said that he was smothered between two featherbeds, just how Edward II and Thomas of Woodstock were probably murdered. Others still said it involved a hot spit going into a place no hot spit should go just like the very famous and very untrue account of Edward II's death."
And when you finally stumble on a new one it's like
"Yeah, they drowned him in wine. Just like how George Duke of Clarence is said to have been killed."
#i lie there's another one where he gets drowned in water#(iirc the logic for that one is that he was killed on william de la pole duke of suffolk's orders and pole = pool = water = drowning)#i need to go through my sources and find if there is actually an account that has the stroke/heart attack option#i mean in fairness the drowned in wine story predates george duke of clarence's death so maybe humpers was the original#blog#humphrey duke of gloucester#the death of humphrey duke of gloucester#for legal reasons i am joking about humphrey's death not edward ii's#additionally it is factually true that hot pokers should not go in the fundament#sometimes people don't want to write a graphic description of a hot poker death that never actually happened#and find a euphemism that uses black humour instead#and if you're sitting there going 'this sound weird what is this about'#a prominent edward ii historian attacked a twitter user for making the exact same joke i made#(and kept attacking them after they outed themselves as a queer survivor of SA and homophobic violence)#and tends to graphically describe his death by poker to 'prove' how unfunny and untrue (?) the story is...

Merlot
I am a connoisseur of red wine, and Merlot is one of my favorite varietals. I appreciate its versatility, as it pairs well with a wide array of foods.
Merlot is one of the world’s most popular red wines, and America’s second favorite after Cabernet Sauvignon. Known for its soft, sensual texture and approachable style, it’s made from red-skinned grapes that can adapt to a variety of climates to produce food-friendly wines in many price points. Merlot can be velvety and plummy, or rich and oaky. There’s something for everyone, which is why Merlot is adored
