i was just having this discussion with my brother's gf who's barely been outside new york her entire life but was literally "terrified" when she went to north carolina for 4 days because of this the "north is better/more progressive/we have nothing to work on it's the south that's the real problem" propaganda. she used the legislation as an anchor point to that argument but as the person above me stated voter suppression is a real problem.

in the past week at new job in massachusetts, ive dealt with more blatant homophobia and casual microagressive behavior than i had in the last year and a half living in atl. felt like somehow i'd stepped back in time and it was 2014. it's the same racism they just call their neighborhoods 'patriot this' or 'pilgrim that' instead of confederate street names and neighborhoods with 'plantation' somewhere in the mix.

You know what? Destroy the "people in rural areas are all ignorant conservatives" stereotype and start mocking the "trad"/anti-feminist/neonazi people that are obsessed with rural areas despite having never been to one

Love the headcanon that Neil and Andrew learn Russian to be able to talk with each other without people understanding, but can I also add the fact that what they learn is only the basics and they guess the rest of it. We know that they have a great non-verbal communication, and giving that they are the only ones speaking the language they have no need to be completely fluent on it.

One will throw random words in Russian and the other one will understand based on gestures and the few words. Or they will have so many grammatical errors, but is no problem cause they understand it that way.

And all the foxes assume that is the way the language works, right up until one them (probably Nicky) actually learns Russian and get completely confused, cause what kind of encrypted language are they using with each other?

i'm doing just 1 so far but the document is named pretty generally to accommodate doing others in the same file. the first is called Fox Curio's Floating Bookshop. and y'all. i CAN'T recommend this game enough.

you play as a bookseller with a floating bookshop (a boat) travelling on a river with a couple different towns, selling books to different animalfolk (think Beatrice Potter but it's not just rabbits)

i am very slow at starting this, i started last week on thursday, it is now monday, and i think i might write the first book being sold today. i've written about 300 words of prologue.

this is the most recent thing i wrote

my protagonist is Rye, she/they, a young capybara who finished school between 1 season and 1 year ago (did i mention that this game comes with its own calender with 5 seasons of 4 weeks of 5 days? and different weather and events per season?)

they're very excited to start selling books and travelling . and i'm excited to do that with them

i've already rolled all the dice and pulled all the cards for day 1 so i know who's coming. now to actually write the day
