not exactly a headcanon or a fic rec but A Third Different Thing!

A fic idea I back in the day was Jon denying himself statements and Elias being like, hm, well, I must do something about this.

And that something is taking Jon out to a nice dinner. And Jon is suspicious AF, of course, but it's really just a nice dinner. Lovely wine. A great cassoulet. Elias is his usual mildly insufferable self, charmingly annoying.

Then it's time for desert, and Jon is like, "No, that's alright, I'm actually full?"

Elias: but are you really?

And then one by one every single person in the restaurant comes to sit at their table and starts to tell Jon about the Horrific Fear-Related Trauma that happened to them. And Jon can't leave because he's hungry and he's not strong enough to resist.

And for the rest of the evening, Elias just watches his Archivist feed. 🫶

Oh. My. God.

Absolutely yes. Elias can't stand Jon not eating properly.

Also love thinking about Elias asking if Jon's ready for another and Jon not really being able to answer.

They both get dessert that night. And I'm sure Elias also orders a cake for them to split.

I'm afraid the only way through heartbreak is exactly that. Through it. Of course it's good to keep a daily rhythm and practice good self care, but the processing happens in sitting in the pain, the sadness and the loss. Preferably with someone else there to comfort you❤️😭
