DAY 5879
Jalsa, Mumbai Mar 23/24, 2024 Sat/Sun 10:23 AM
🪔 ,
March 24 .. birthday greetings to Ef AMIT Trivedi .. 🙏🏻🚩❤️
..
March 24 .. World TB Day .. prayers .. 🙏🏻
Spending the time with the words of Babuji is not just an education but a revelation of a poet's mind and soul .. a mind that wanders in the visionary hemisphere unknown and unseen in a relative World, but yet possessing the intelligence of the probability of a higher philosophy ..
For it all to come to me now , is a shame .. a shame of lost opportunity and time to have been spent in the research and his presence to be able to understand the deeper meanings in his thought ..
I did on the odd occasion give intent of his interpretation and reason for many of his thoughts .. and they were most revealing .. but then .. time passed away .. as did his presence ..
It is a known and accepted fact that genius of creative art, writing, painting, music or whatever form, has always been overlooked and never given its due during the lifetime of the artist .. and it has been recognised fact of this phenomena that coerces me to, yet again , mention here for consumption of the mass ..
A pity ..
But the efforts of time , or whatever is left in it for me , shall endeavour to give some exposure to Babuji's works and his incredible genius ..
The World has very seldom seen or experienced the greatness of such ..
Last night I spent time on one such random thought of his from a published work :
नई से नई, पुरानी से पुरानी
it contains works of his in short verses, or abstract from , blank verse - short and expressive , but of immense value for us all to think and wonder of how certain thoughts and the express of them , do get created ..
The title of the Poem :
KAVI KA RAKT .. A POETS’ BLOOD
meri band mutthiyaan dekhkar .. seeing my closed fists jis-jis ne mujhse poocha, .. all those that asked me “ismein kya hai” ? .. ‘what is inside them’ ? maine imaandaari se bataya , .. i told them with all honesty “ismein kya hai ? .. ‘what is in them ismein kadamb ka phool hai “ .. in them is the kadamb flower ? "(Neolamarckia cadamba, with English common names burflower-tree, laran, and Leichhardt pine,[2] and called kadam or cadamba[2]) aur logon ne is par .. and the people on this sahaj vishwaas kar liya .. did keep their instinctive believe
vo to jab .. that is, when meri mutthiyaan se .. from my clenched fists rakt ki boondein choone lagein .. drops of blood did start to drop tab logon ne mujhe avishwaas ki nazaron se ghoora, .. then, did the people did stare at me in disbelief mujhse kaha .. and they told me “mutthiyaan to kholo ।” "at least open your fists" aur jab maine mutthiyaan kholein .. and when I did open my clenched fists to unmein .. in them kantkeela dhature ka pahal nikala । .. did come out the thorn laden datura fruit !
(Datura is a genus of nine species of highly poisonous, vespertine-flowering plants belonging to the nightshade family. They are commonly known as thornapples or jimsonweeds, but are also known as devil's trumpets. Other English common names include moonflower, devil's weed, and hell's bells.)
main sharmaya, .. I was ashamed mera jhoot pakda gaya ,.. my lie was caught mujhe apne par aashcharya hua, .. I was filled with wonder , kyunki maine apni ankhein kholkar .. because I had with my open eyes kadamb ka phool apni mutthiyon mein liya tha । .. taken the kadamb flower in my clenched fists !
shayad mai apni bhavatishayata mein ।.. perhaps in the belief of my aatma , the self , the soul kante ko phool samjha, .. I thought the thorns to be a flower par kaanta , kaanta hi kaise reh gaya , .. but how did the thorn , remain a thorn phool kyun nahin bana , .. why did it not become a flower usnein toh ek kavi ka rakt piya tha । .. it had consumed the blood of a poet !!
the word भावा ति शय यता , bhavatishayyata seems to have been taken from a form of the mention in the scriptures of Hindu philosophy, saints and religion , which is why i believe it refers to his aatma, his soul , his inner .. perhaps a more 'cultured way' 😁 of expressing his thoughts ..
DATURA
KADAMB .. CADAMBA 👆🏼
My love and more ..

what is a datura
Datura, aka devil's trumpet, AKA jimsonweed, AKA thornapple, is flowering plant in the nightshade family, known for being highly poisonous, as well as psychoactive.
The squirrels almost killed mine (and quite possibly themselves in the process) and I've since had to build a hideous cage around it in hopes that it will grow another flower before it gets too cold.

Hey, i don't know how you feel about people messaging you so I'll ask on here what is Bluebelles favorite flower
mayhap for drawling preposes
GASP hi hello!!!!
The most obviously answer would of course be bluebells, but uhhhh. Im going to be a little self indulgent for a minute, and give her my favorite flower!
Bluebelle’s favorite flower is Datura.
Also called jimsonweed, devils trumpets, or moonflowers. I don’t have any particular rhyme or reason, other than the fact that I am ✨obsessed✨ with this flower. I could talk about them forever, and I’m pretty sure I’ve already mentioned them in an ask before.
And the fact that @/margo-mania did a really pretty piece with Bluebelle and datura flowers a while back (I’ll just put it under the cut lol :)
If you want a symbolism flower though, if you’re like me, and am/are cautiously pretentious <3 then bluebell is your best bet, as it means mostly humility and constancy, but more importantly, sorrowful regret. Which is very Bluebelle I feel.
I’m really trying to cover all bases here :D sorry for the yapping 😭I fear this happens with every ask I ever answer
#ALSO‼️‼️‼️#in regards to messages always feel free to send me a messages#I like talking to people :D#but if you’re more comfortably with asks#I LOVE asks because it triggers little dopamine rushes in my head it makes me so#SO happy#anyhow!!! excited to see what you’re planning!!! I hope ur motivation carries you through (it’s such a fickle thing)#I believe in you lol!!!!!#asks!!!!!!!#cats oc#jellicle oc#bluebelle cats#I just noticed I didn’t do grammer quite right in that first section#ignore me forever I don’t feel like retyping this <3

#1896 - Datura stramonium - Jimsonweed
from Franz Eugen Köhler's Medizinal-Pflanzen
Not from @purrdence‘s NZ trip, but related to the Solanum previously, and current news on top of that.
AKA thornapple, moon flower, hell's bells, devil's trumpet, devil's weed, tolguacha, Jamestown weed, stinkweed, locoweed, pricklyburr, false castor oil plant, and devil's cucumber.
I don’t have my own photo, and a lot of those common names suggest a plant to avoid, for the same reason - it was the cause of a nationwide food recall here in Australia, recently, and that’s why I’ve decided to talk about this menace. The contamination in the packaged baby spinach wasn’t identified in the early reports, but the description of the symptoms were distinctive enough that I immediately thought ‘hang about, that sounds like Datura poisoning’, and it turns out I was correct.
Whilst the plant has been used in ethnogenic rituals by some cultures, it’s unlikely to ever be a recreational drug as the amount of scopalamine and atropine in this and other Daturas varies widely with season, growing conditions, and age of the plant making the plant exceptionally hazardous, and the results vary from ‘terrifying hallucinations’ to ‘death’. The symptoms of anticholinergic syndrome are distinctive enough there’s a traditional mnemonic: "Blind as a bat, mad as a hatter, red as a beet, hot as a hare, dry as a bone, the bowel and bladder lose their tone, and the heart runs alone" - pupil dilation and blurred vision, hallucinations and delusions, flushed skin, fever, dry mouth and dry skin, constipation and difficulty urinating, racing heartbeat and more. And if that wasn’t enough, repeated use appears to be strongly associated with later dementia.
And don’t ask me about the coffee-table herbology book that listed it as an aphrodisiac, a few decades back. I yelled blue murder when I read that.
Anyway - the binomial nomenclature derives from Sanskrit dhattūra 'white thorn-apple', and possibly from the Greek for ‘mad nightshade’. Jimsonweed comes from an incident in Jamestown, Virginia in 1676, where English soldiers found it is an unwelcome addition to a salad (much like the current case).
“This being an early plant, was gather'd very young for a boil'd salad, by some of the soldiers sent thither to quell the rebellion of Bacon (1676); and some of them ate plentifully of it, the effect of which was a very pleasant comedy, for they turned natural fools upon it for several days: one would blow up a feather in the air; another would dart straws at it with much fury; and another, stark naked, was sitting up in a corner like a monkey, grinning and making mows [grimaces] at them; a fourth would fondly kiss and paw his companions, and sneer in their faces with a countenance more antic than any in a Dutch droll.
In this frantic condition they were confined, lest they should, in their folly, destroy themselves—though it was observed that all their actions were full of innocence and good nature. Indeed, they were not very cleanly; for they would have wallowed in their own excrements if they had not been prevented. A thousand such simple tricks they played, and after eleven days returned themselves again, not remembering anything that had passed.
— Robert Beverley, Jr., The History and Present State of Virginia, Book II: Of the Natural Product and Conveniencies in Its Unimprov'd State, Before the English Went Thither, 1705
In the current outbreak, that’s affected over 200 people, heavy rainfall probably washed seeds into the spinach fields where the young sprouts were mistaken for baby spinach and picked.

Past Photo Favorites - Sacred Datura Flowers AKA Western Jimsonweed A Favorite Flower of artist Georgia O’Keeffe. More from Wikipedia: “Datura stramonium, known by the English names jimsonweed or devil's snare, is a plant in the nightshade family. It is believed to have originated in Mexico, but has now become naturalized in many other regions. Other common names for D. stramonium include thornapple and moon flower, and it has the Spanish name toloache. Other names for the plant include hell's bells, devil's trumpet, devil's weed, tolguacha, Jamestown weed, stinkweed, locoweed, pricklyburr, false castor oil plant, devil's cucumber, and thornapple. Datura has been used in traditional medicine to relieve asthma symptoms and as an analgesic during surgery or bonesetting. It is also a powerful hallucinogen and deliriant, which is used entheogenically for the intense visions it produces. However, the tropane alkaloids responsible for both the medicinal and hallucinogenic properties are fatally toxic in only slightly higher amounts than the medicinal dosage, and careless use often results in hospitalizations and deaths.” - Wikipedia #PastPhotoFavorites #SacredDatura #Jimsonweed #WesternJimsonweed #GeorgiaOKeeffeFlower #Flowers #NewMexicoFlowers #Naturalist #PhotoByJeriRae (at Santa Fe, New Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnzzqjGPHjA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

“Moonflower leave your husband. I’m free February 14th if you want to hang out on February 14th, I’m not doing anything February 14th, just let me know about February 14th.” - Sunfall probably
Design notes:
She’s huge and she’s fluffy. She sucked up all of Goosefeather’s height into herself; she has the build of their mother, while her brother has her coloration more accurately. All three of them are speckled colorpoints (even though her pose doesn’t exactly portray that very well ^^’).
Also has yellow-and-blue heterochromia like her brother! She hides hers, though, due to being self conscious about it (and Stormtail actively expressing his distaste for it, as it “made her look too much like her freak show of a littermate”).
Her canines are slightly longer than average.
She’s very put together physically; very clean and elegant and well-groomed. Bordering into headcanon territory, I like to think that Moonflower was considered the picture of ThunderClan beauty during her youth: she’s huge and muscular and has an unusual fur color and pattern, and she was aware of this and held her physical appearance to a very high standard, even after getting with Stormtail.
The flower at the base of her tail is, unoriginally, a moon flower! Some fun facts about the moon flower because I’m a botany nerd: they have many, many names! Datura flowers, thornapples, jimsonweeds, devil's trumpets, devil's weed, and hell's bells. They are also highly poisonous and belong to the nightshade family!
LGBT+ headcanon: Mtf transwoman (she/they), and demiromantic-heterosexual.
[Image ID: A digital drawing of a sitting, left-facing Moonflower against a translucent background; her body is angled towards the “camera”, with her back to the viewpoint, and her head turned to face it. She is a massive, thick-furred, very fluffy very pale silver-blue-gray speckled colorpoint cat; her mane is very fluffy and very pale white-silver; she has a thick, long, darker marking running down her spine to her fluffy, pale-tipped tail with darker speckles along her sides, and across her face, muzzle, and ear-tips; there is a crescent moon mark between her brows. The left half of her face is obscured by curving “hair fluff”, with her one visible eye being very pale yellow. At the base of her tail is nestled a datura flower. Against her side is her color palette. Below her tail is the word “MOONFLOWER” written in white, all-caps. Across her mane is the stylized artist signature of “spottyissleepwalking” written in faded lavender. / End ID.]

Real quick flora former question, who would you connect with moonflowers also called datura, jimsonweed, devils trumpet etc? it’s a highly toxic flower that causes hallucinations but is also used as a natural painkiller, it’s also mistaken for angels trumpet witch is edible and used in tea. Most believed it had spiritual properties because of the hallucinations as well.
Daturas symbolizes power and caution while moonflowers in general are "Symbols of Blossoming in Dark Times" and personally I would associate this flower with either Megatron, Elita-1 or Jazz.

Datura stramonium, otherwise known as jimsonweed, thorn apple, devil's snare, or devil's trumpet, is a flowering plant in the deadly nightshade family. Flowering primarily during the summer, the delicate, fragrant flowers open at night to be fed on by nocturnal moths.
While beautiful, every part of the plant contains potentially fatal levels of alkaloid toxins classified as deliriants, the ingestion of which can cause uncomfortable psychoactive effects, along with hallucination, bizarre behavior, hyperthermia, and tachycardia. Risk of fatal overdose is high among the uninformed.
Proud to finally post this, after 18 hours of agonizing over it! Jimsonweed is my favorite flower, it grew around the farm where I grew up, and I used to love going out in the evening at twilight to smell the flowers as they opened up. It's true, their scent is sweet, and the flowers feel very delicate. The horses and cattle wouldn't touch them.
I felt they represented Gríma and his false niceties very well!

((It started out with me just wanting to draw a dress design inspired by the Angel’s Trumpet flower, then it turned into drawing Ghost!Lee modeling two floral-based ensembles. He didn’t have to be a ghost, but whatever. We’ve got the Angel’s Trumpet gown (top), and the Jimsonweed (also known as Devil’s Snare) suit (bottom). Playing around with colors is fun. Sorry about the odd portions on the second sketch, this one was a bit more rushed.))

🌻 and 🍅 for the ask game, pls! :)
🌻 Sunflower: What is one thing that brightened your day today?
I was right, my chocolate milk this mornin' did slap.
🍅 Tomato: Have you ever gardened, and if so, what is your favorite thing to grow?
These are Datura flowers! They are commonly known as thornapples, moonflowers or jimsonweeds, but my favorite name they go by is a devil trumpet.😈 They're poisonous to consume, and can cause hallucinations & in extreme cases even death. Their seed pod is prickly and gloves should be worn when harvesting them! To harvest you wait til they're round, look to be splitting, and place them in a paper bag in a cool dry space for a couple months until they turn brown and crunchy! They usually pop open on their own and dump seeds into the paper bag.
Pictured above is one of their seedpods!
