I've been thinking about the tragedy of Elizabeth Woodville living to see the end of her family name.

I don't mean her family with her husband, which lived on through her daughter and grandson. I mean her own.

Her sisters died, one by one, many of them after 1485. When Elizabeth died, only Katherine was left, and she would die before the turn of the century as well.

All her brothers died, too. Lewis died in childhood. John was executed. Anthony was murdered. Lionel died suddenly in the peak of Richard's reign, unable to see his niece become queen. Edward perished at war. Richard died in grieving peace. For all the violence and judgement the family endured, it was "an accident of biology" that ended their line: none of the brothers left heirs, and the Woodville name was extinguished. We know the family was aware of this. We know they mourned it, too:

“Buy a bell to be a tenor at Grafton to the bells now there, for a remembrance of the last of my blood.”

Elizabeth lived through the deposition and death of her young sons, and lived to see the end of her own family name. It must have been such a haunting loss, on both sides.

SURPRISE PIXEL ART TIME!!

I felt like making these little sprite edits of the Scott Pilgrim video game characters! Featuring the playable characters on top as well as Knives and some NPCs on the bottom.

I took some clothing inspiration from the anime while Ramona's is from a well-known Bryan Lee O'Malley drawing of her. Changing the colors on them was the fun part :) Also, colored-in mouths! Ain't that something!

The reason I made these sprite edits is that during the weekend, I went on a nostalgic trip to look at some sprite comics I liked during my teenage years...(around 2016) they were mostly Kirby comics, LOL. I usually read them on ComicFury now since Smackjeeves died out a few years ago...it was my only source of sprite-comic reading back then :(

Somehow, all of it gave me the urge to make one on my own...Well this is what I have for now, just a little overview of what the Scotty P. video game characters will look like in my own version of them. Hope you like!

A bit funny too depending on the circumstance but u know #anyways that's my two cents. I'm sad but I'm not gonna make a huge fuss about it #maybe the life system will change someday

Soap adventures!! This is what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks, lol…and a lot more than what’s pictured here, actually. Lots of gifts and samples for friends and family! You can see I’ve been playing around with my Sahuldeem ideas (I think I’ll share the fragrance combos in a separate post for those), but also is now a good time to mention I’m playing Overwatch again after taking a break for a few years? So I went to the wiki page for the henghill Bullet & Brain mission of 2.2 looking for some dialogue I had missed and

a) I found something incredibly tasty that slotted into some other thoughts I'd been having, more on that on another day, and

b) I saw this super fun little trivia at the bottom, which!

I knew Penacony characters like Boothill took a lot of inspirations from old movies, but I didn't realize it was even in his and Dan Heng's relationship, that's so cool!!

It fits them very well, it's such a fun reference. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was an old buddy Western film (from 1969- nice) about a pair of outlaws. Butch Cassidy was the leader of a gang, and described as clever, affable, and talkative. Meanwhile, his closest companion, the Sundance Kid, was known as a man of few words.

Cassidy's original birth name was much more plain, but similar to Boothill, he took on a new moniker when he became an outlaw. "Cassidy" had been the last name of his beloved mentor, who taught him how to shoot and ride. And Sundance Kid was known as he was because Sundance was the name of his hometown, and it was the only place that had ever managed to catch and jail him, back when he'd been younger (also similar to Dan Heng, but ouch).

These two stick together like glue throughout the length of the film- through Cassidy's leadership of the gang being challenged, through a train robbery gone wrong, through being pursued by mercenaries, and even through fleeing to Bolivia and trying to start over together.

I don't want to say too much more, since the mission title is referencing one specific movie that I've never seen. I kinda wanna watch it now, though, just to see the inspiration that went into Boothill and Dan Heng and how they get along. I just think it's really sweet that these two were literally made to be the best of bros, how lovely is that. 💕

#honkai star rail #this can be ship or plantonic tbh yall are always free to tag my ramblings as you please haha #just! they're so sweet!!#FWENDS #i would love to see more of them being a dynamic duo further down the line ♡#i think the film moved things along a little quicker but the real life Cassidy and Sundance were actually in south america for a few years #they fled there to get away from pursuers along with Sundance's girlfriend Etta Place.#supposedly they managed to buy a small ranch and the three of them lived peacefully (and even lawfully!) together for like three years-#-until the law caught up with them again #at some point Etta Place returned to the US reportedly due to illness rather than not wanting to get caught like in the film #Sundance may or may not have escorted her back. but whether he did or not he returned to South America with Cassidy #the two of them eventually got into a huge firefight with authorities where Sundance was fatally shot and Cassidy chose to end his own life #that's the most common story anyway. some also say Cassidy snuck back into the US again where he lived quietly until his death.#but it reads kind of like rumors of Elvis Presley sightings to me BSMZKNSKS #the film ended much more happily with the two of them getting into shenanigans and a freeze frame of them in a hail of bullets haha #i wanna see Dan Heng and Boothill fight together too it would be so cool aaaaaa #they would be great at getting into shenanigans! as we've already seen!!#fun bonus info: Boothill's ult literally puts black bars at the top and bottom of the screen to look like a widescreen Western movie #fun bonus info 2: Cassidy was regarded with respect by some people bc he never stole from the poor he only robbed big companies #this is actually nicer than Boothill is in canon bc he openly admits he will rob someone blind if he doesn't like them BSKZKKZMSKDK #(although I feel like its implied he has more standards for this than he gives himself credit for.#like he makes it pretty clear he doesn't particularly like Argenti at first and thinks he's annoying as shit but I'm sure he didn't rob him #...would have been real fucking funny if he did though oh my god I would love to see him try that. it absolutely would not work BSKZKNSKSJS #hsr #henghill #bootheng #dan heng #boothill #hsr boothill #hsr dan heng

SCREENSHOTS I GOT FROM THE JEREMY JORDAN LIVESTREAM YESTERDAY. especially love the comments on his duck drawings. he was very proud of some of them since he needed to practice before the stream. he admits he does not draw much lol

When she's not running around as Ninja or Summoner , Arsay's next choice is the lance. Being bestowed a source of draconic power by Midgardsormr moments before his slumber, and knowing how to channel the powers of Bahamut with dreadwyrm trance, Arsay's power as a Dragoon rivals that of even the former Azure Dragoon. With that said, she'd much rather use her polearm to hunt monsters.

#miqomarch #miqomarch2024 #ffxiv #miqo'te #arsay kain pose pog??#an attempt was made #I didn't want to repeat myself two years in a row lol #do love playing drg though its so fun #praying it doesnt become too different in dawntrail #in my canon Arsay never does the lancer or dragoon lv 30-60 job quests #She gets Estinien to teach her some basic moves while on the road trip to drivania #one cause she thought it looked fun two because its hard to back stab a dragon without going full shadow of the colossus on them #Shes pretty good with the lance too so she does use it on that first nidhogg fight #then she continues hvw as ninja/smn #she doesnt have any of the dragoon part of the dragoon kit until she goes through the great gooble library with y'mhitra #where they learn about dreadwyrm trance and arsay discovers her surprisingly strong connection to bahamut #y'hmitra: wow thats weird didnt you say you werent around during the calamity how did you connect to him so easily #arsay: so there's this massive hole in the ground in eastern la noscea-#When its time to end the dragonsong war for real this time in the patches she picks up the lance again and enters trance mode #She does get a job stone finally after that #its a gift from aymeric #a symbolic 'you were part of the troops' type thing #oh and later during stormblood arsay does go through Those job quests #because of course shes helping a little dragon friend #and during the omega raid series when Middy saves her life just before he goes to sleep again he gifts arsay a scale to carry with her #a bit of dragon aether to tap into when she needs it !#anyways thats arsay dragoon lore thanks for coming to my tedtalk #WOL posting #Arsay Nun

every time i see bakudeku compared to k/ance (now specifically in terms of them getting shafted in the ending and/or accused of queerbaiting) i take psychic damage

#i am NOT tagging this one mainly because i don't want to bring down the fucking horde of klance shippers on my head #i was there. i was part of the fandom. and i STILL don't understand how or why THAT was the massive ship #y'all are clinging to something that stopped being relevant after SEASON ONE in an EIGHT SEASON LONG show #lance spent the ENTIRE series crushing on (and eventually fully falling in love with) allura #allura who slowly started to reciprocate. allurance CONTINUED to get ship tease EVEN as she fell for lotor #literally 85% of the significant klance moments/interactions were in the first season #i don't know how y'all kept clinging to a ship that gave you absolute scraps #as for keith. again i watched voltron myself. i even BRIEFLY shipped klance when the show first came out #because again - season one was GREAT for them. a strong foundation for a ship! but that foundation was NEVER built upon #then season two hit and i was quite happy to pivot to sheith which is where i remained until the ending #keith spent the entire show very devoted to shiro. you don't have to read it romantically but it's a hell of a lot easier to do so #than ever imagining he'd feel that way about lance after he just. basically stopped caring about him post s1 #meanwhile lance slowly let go of the (one-sided) rivalry and just focused more and more on allura #comparing klance and bakudeku feels like a fucking crime to me.#klance was a once-promising rivals to lovers arc that IMMEDIATELY fizzled out into them being kind of friends.#but specifically The Friends Who Never Hang Out kind. while both parties were lowkey obsessed with someone else.#this ship was NEVER going to happen when it became clear around s4-5 that the writers DID NOT CARE about it at all #(and they went on record saying they were surprised it was so huge!)#meanwhile until the trashfire epilogue bakudeku spent the ENTIRE series obsessed with each other #they were friends to enemies to rivals to friends with everyone HOPING they'd get a canonical 'to lovers' tacked on #they got the MOST development in the series individually and as a pair (platonically or otherwise)#THIS ship had legs and was only denied greatness because it was struck with the typical shounen homophobia curse #PLEASE stop comparing one of the greatest arcs and relationships (even if it stumbled at the finish line)...#that i have EVER seen... to That. to fucking... two bros chilling in a hot tub (five feet apart cause they're not gay)#(except keith MIGHT be. just not for lance. sorry not sorry.)
