Most people start off their new year by trying to resolve something new for themselves. As a Commander player, I can see people doing similar within their own playing styles: maybe stopping slotting in not as good cards or curbing spending so much on decks.

Me though? Aside from saving for Final Fantasy in June because by lord, my JRPG nerd self will die on that hill, my resolution has been apparently to add a few new weird lil' guys to my Commander arsenal for future decks. That has included these two:

People tell me Slivers and Eldrazi are really fun and yet in terms of weird alien-looking Magic critters and their decks, I only stuck to Phyrexians for some odd reason, building around Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider and Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. As characters, I always hear stories of these two in lore: Slivers basically being dimensionally adept insects where you don't really want to disturb their hives and then Eldrazi being eternally hungry invaders, Emrakul especially being one who corrupts and manipulates whatever living things her tendrils get their hands on (which led to her getting sealed away in the moon... that'sroughbuddyLOL). Building around these two is going to be interesting, that's for sure... bugs and jellyfish. What a strange combination~

obviously people can feel however they want about kara's new costume, but I think it's very silly to act like it's the same as the crop-top suit she wore in the early 2000s.

there's a stark difference between michael turner designing a suit that's clearly meant to oversexualize a character that's at most 16 years old, and stanley lau designing a suit that's supposed to look "sporty and fun" (<- his words) that's being worn by a 22 year old.

if you can't see a clear difference between these two suits idk what to tell you. just say the new suit's ugly and keep it moving.

While I’m talking, Cloud almost killing Tifa in Gongaga is not just a ‘would that be fucked up or what’ moment or even because Tifa has the true memories/proof to counter Sephiroth’s lies (though, that is part of it). It’s also because killing Tifa is the antithesis of who Cloud is. It’s the antithesis of the little boy who put his life on the line to save her and then dedicated his life to becoming strong enough to protect her. The antithesis of his promise to be there for her and the feelings behind it. “Cloud” and “Tifa’s killer” cannot coexist. “Cloud,” the boy defined by a desire to protect Tifa, cannot survive this. That’s why Sephiroth is trying so hard to get Cloud to kill Tifa. Sephiroth could kill her himself and that would still be majorly bad for Cloud’s true identity as he’d still lose his only tether to reality and the symbol of his conscience. But it wouldn’t be as effective as having Cloud do the honors. Sephiroth needs Cloud to kill the light in his own heart. He needs Cloud to kill his self. And there is no more definitive way than this.

How would the ROs react to seeing the MC cry for the first time? Especially if Mc never done it in front of them.

it sounds kinda silly but rami would probably fight back tears too because he's witnessed the hardships mc has been put through and he gets it. if given the okay, he'd definitely hold them and let them cry for as long as they need and hide his own tears.

rory would start fussing immediately, telling them that it's okay and she's there if they need a shoulder. she'd offer to sing something calming and sweet to get mc to think about happier thoughts, and keep it up until her voice disappeared or mc felt better.

taz wouldn't know what to do, he doesn't deal with intimate displays of such sort. still, he'd offer a tissue and a few friendly words, maybe give them a little squeeze on the shoulder if they will it. could also sit near them in silence, as a grounding presence.

mal would use his divine powers to cocoon them in a veil of familiarity, the scents of his domain, the warm sand, the crisp summer-nights air, the very familiar blooming jasmine. if allowed, cradle their face in his hands and wipe the tears as they fall.
