Flynn had received a special doll from his Brother in his birthday named Poppy to be both his playmate and bodyguard!!

Despite everything that is going on in the manor currently, Flynn didn’t expect anyone to remember his birthday is today… not like he even bother to tell anyone and in fact he forgot about it himself.

He stopped celebrating it three years ago so it was a unexpected surprise even for him when his brother suddenly appeared out of the blue with a cake and presents, along with some of their friends like Lily, Gabriel, Marise and Heifu!!

At first he was embarrassed and thought this was so childish but it didn’t take long before he started to smile when they showed him all the sweets, gifts and his birthday cake, immediately sparks the childhood wonder and happiness inside him and brought him back to the days when he used to celebrate it with his family and friends in the circus. He now found himself enjoying the small birthday party that being celebrated just for him.

After blowing the candles and eating the cake, the time for receiving gifts had finally come and Flynn couldn’t be more happier then he already is with all the wonderful gifts he got from everyone and he wondered what could his brother had got for him now since for some reason he decided to make his gift the last one to be received even tho normally it would be the first in the past birthday.

“Flynn~ I have a extra special gift for you this year for your birthday, I worked so hard to make it for you so I hope it would be to your liking~!!”

Flynn said happily before he summoned his gift out of the blue and it was… a Jack-in-a-box?? Flynn was confused a bit but the look on his brother’s eyes tell him he should trust him. So he started to move the handle on the box and a beautiful music started to play for awhile, everyone waiting to see what would jump from the box in any second… knowing Phineas it wouldn’t be just a normal Jack doll—

*POOF!!*

The box opens suddenly from each corner with a cloud of light yellow and purple with many confetti and what come out of it was a cute looking Jester like Plushy!!!… it was cleary alive by how it was doing a cute little dance on top of Flynn’s lap while singing him happy birthday before it sat down happily.

Flynn can’t help but gasp… this plushy… he remembers he draw something like it when he was 8 when watching the clowns and jesters in the circus and showed it to his brother and father but he never thought Phineas actually kept the drawing all those years even after death!!… to be honest he was so moved he started to tear up making both Phineas and the plushy panic if they did something wrong but Flynn chuckled and dismiss their worries and just happily thanks his brother while hugging the plushy.

“Hahah~ don’t give me all the credit. I had the help of Rosie~Rose (@idv-artists-trio) to make this doll so it also a gift from her!!”

“Eh~ Roise is so talented as always!!” Heifu couldn’t help but comment on that when Rosie is mentioned and soon after that Marise also say “that quite interesting indeed to see a living plushy, I could never get tired of seeing one ^^!!”

Gabriel claps his hands a few time to make everyone stop talking and he looked at Flynn with a smile “well it is indeed a cute plushy but we can’t just keep calling it that, can we?!…do you have a name in mind Flynn?!” Lily also asked “YEAH YEAH~!! What would you call the cutie_^_?!

Flynn took a second to think but immediately come up with a name and hold the plushy up high with his hands “POPPY!! Your name shall be Poppy from now on, do you like it??!!”

The plushy title their head and there was silence making Flynn wonder if they didn’t like the name but before he know it plushy happily started to swing their arm around jump down from his hands and started to dance in circles while repeating their new name “POPPY, POPPY,POPPY!! AM POPPY!!”

Everyone can’t help but laugh seeing Poppy being happy with their new name and just watch as the cute plushy dance around in joy before Phineas pick them up “oh!! And there also another unique thing they can do!!… Poppy~ would you like to show?!” Poppy happily nodded and Phineas suddenly throw them up to the air and mid way through they spin and with each spin they appear to become taller and more human like then a plushy before they landed on their feet playfully on the floor with a dramatic pose.

“TA~TA~TDAA~!!! POPPY CAN ALSO TURN INTO A HUMAN LIKE YOU, THIS WAY WE CAN PLAY EVEN MORE GAMES TOGETHER!!”

And~ of course they can!! Flynn kinda excepted that but he still surprised to see it like the rest yet he really loved this!! Is like his whole childhood had come back to him in a form of a magical plushy that was literally designed from his childhood self so he couldn’t be more thankful and happier then he already is that he openly started to cry with happy tears and keep thanking everyone… he didn’t think he can be this happy after many years and especially what currently going on in the manor as well but yet somehow his brother found a way to make him happy as always!!

Truly… he can never as for a better older brother!

My problem with the idea of some characters being unknowingly Sentimonsters isn't in the idea itself, but in how it's been used, both the choice and how we're supposed to think about their parents:

Adrien: this guy makes NO SENSE, as him being a Sentimonster contradicts "Chat Blanc". The events of that episode hinge on Gabriel not having the means to easily brainwash his son and thus resorting to other means to Akumatize him. We're also supposed to sympathize with Emilie reacting to her infertility problems by using black magic to make a reverse sex clone of herself rather than adopting (she could afford IVF, but we don't know if she tried before using magic)

Kagami: she makes barely more sense than Adrien, as in Japanese culture the long standing reaction to fertility issues is adoption BEFORE IVF. Japan's most famous fairy tale, The Tale of Princess Kaguya, is basically the story of a girl being adopted and everything going well until others butted in... So Tomoe's normal reaction to having fertility problems would have been to adopt a few children and see which one was worthy of her legacy.

Felix: now, this guy mostly makes sense, with Colt Phatom being apparently as bad as S5 Gabriel... Except we have the fact Gabriel would let THIS GUY touch a Miraculous.

In my opinion, the best character to have been a Sentimonster is Zoè. She's got the egotistic parent, and it would be perfectly in character for Emilie to hear her complain of Chloè being a difficult child (that is a normal child) and magically create her one as a favor, also explaining why Audrey left the country (how do you explain THAT to your husband?) and the rivalry, also adding angst when her true nature inevitably comes out and we find out Zoè is LITERALLY Chloè's replacement in waiting.

Yeah no none of them made sense!

Adrien doesn't make sense because too much of his early-season character was him being rebellious, and there's several episodes where Gabe having his Amok would've negated the whole thing. Not to mention I still fight on the Peacock originally sensing Sentis but it being retconned to just the Amoks.

Kagami doesn't make sense because before Season 5, everything about the Tsurugi family indicated that the business deals with Gabriel was something new, not a 20-year established partnership. Hell all the way back when Kagami was first introduced, the Tsurugi family wasn't even a tech company. They were just Olympic-level fencers. The tech stuff was added later.

Felix is the closest we come to having his Senti nature make since as he was written in with this plot. But he kinda hinges on Adrien being a Senti as well.

Zoé would make sense but less as 'Gabe let Audrey have a sentikid ages ago' and more as 'Gabe wants to further fuck with Chloé and keep her as an asset, so he created Zoé to worm into her life and keep Chloé from ever having a chance at redemption again.

Once upon a date night in Paris...

Adrie: I can't believe you agreed to go out with me,Marinette.

Marinette (giggles): Me? You're the one who's the top international model of the Gabriel brand, and an award winning fencer to boot. Don't kid yourself. If anything, I'm the one that got the shock out of my life when you asked me out.

Adrien: (just smiles, shakes his head and takes her hand)

Adrien: No. I don't think you understand. All those things you mentioned don't matter. Not to me. But my best friend going out with me when I thought she disliked me, I can't begin to word how much it means to me. I meant it when I said you're the first real girl friend I got. Well, there's Chloe but you know, she's been there since we were kids. She's like family at this point.

Marinette: Uhm... you mean your friend who happens to be a girl, right?

Adrien (blushes and pulls away): Oh! Of course! I'm sorry, Marinette. I worded it wrong. Not that I do not wish that you're my- I meant to say princess that I- It's just that was presumptuous and I-

Marinette: (just watches her long time crush stutter, unable to stop a bright beam that threatens to tear her face in half)

Adrien (groans): Oh, Plagg kill me now. I'm just embarrassing myself, am I not?

Marinette: (freezes)

Marinette: Did you just say Plagg?

Adrien (eyes wide): Oh, uhm, my- my cat! See, I got a cat, you know, for company. He's pretty much the only one who listens to my rambling at home. Although, he has this weird addiction to stinky cheese. I wish he'd stop eating it.

Marinette:

Adrien: You've gotten quiet, Marinette. Did I say something offensive? I swear I didn't mean to-

Marinette: You're cool! I mean we're cool! I mean, everything's alright. Nothing's wrong. It's not like there's only one cat in Paris that's named Plagg who just happens to like stinky cheese and who happens to be Tikki's partner in crime and-

Marinette: (freezes at hearing Adrien gasp)

Adrien: (stops breathing)

Marinette: (forces on a smile)

Marinette (suddenly yells): CATS! Yes cats, because cats are totally cool and are different from kwamis which I should know nothing about, except I do because kwamis and ughhhh!! Kill me now. I blame Plagg.

Adrien: What?

Marinette: (deflates like a balloon)

Adrien: (has both eyes twinkling so beautifully)

Adrien (takes her hand and bows down to plant it a kiss, as though he's done a thousand times): My lady.

Marinette (who is very good at embarrassing herself, panics): My Chat, no, I mean, cat, I mean my cat, I meant Chat, I meant Adrien! (inserts a groan) Stop me, please.

Adrien (smiles and blushes like a tomato): You can, you know. I mean, it's true, isn't it? I am your Chat, my Marinette...my Ladybug.

There's the sound of Marinette's balloon popping, but the wide grin that's threatening to cut her face in half is an undeniable reflection of a happy heart.

Marinette: (squeaks when he pulls out a rose from out of nowhere and holds it out to her)

Adrien (suddenly gets shy, and raises a hand to scratch the back of his head in nervous tick): Is that- is that okay?

Marinette (who hates it when he doubts himself, acted on impulse and pulls him by the arm to smack a kiss on his cheek): Yup! Totally. One hundred percent. If that's what you want.

Adrien.exe stopped working.

And like in all fanfics, here enters a pair of hungry kwamis...

Plagg (flies out of Adrien's pocket, eyes rolling and tone dripping with sarcasm): Oh just kiss already!!!

Tikki (flies out from Marinette's purse and lands on perfect aim to hit her partner): PLAGG! You stupid black cat! Don't ruin their moment!!

I think that Kagami's father died after all, because the consequences of a broken Peacock Miraculous are different. To be honest, I doubt that Tomoe is really blind. It seems like she is just pretending to be blind

i disagree. we’ve never heard mention of kagami’s father but we are constantly told about how tomoe used to be a champion fencer. i think the price of the broken peacock is something important to whoever used it. felix’s dad died, gabriel lost his wife, tomoe lost her eyesight. for a while i thought chloe and andre were a part of this and andre lost his career/passion but it looks like that’s not the case.

but that’s my read on it

Don't forget how the majority of the rich antagonists aren't even held accountable for their actions, specifically Gabriel, Andre, Felix, Tomoe, and Audrey.

Also, most of the main characters are either rich or are already famous in some way thanks to having connections with other people, like Marinette (in good graces with four different celebrities), Adrien (son of the biggest fashion designers in the world), Alya (broke the Ladybug story and is the primary source of information on the heroes), Nino (got to DJ at a major fashion show), Kagami (comes from a long line of Olympic fencers), and Luka/Juleka (children of a famous rockstar).

Miraculous is a show that loves glamor. That's why all characters are either well off or super rich. That's why a normal girl with a normal life is a master designer who befriends celebrities and goes to school with prodigies and other exceptional youths who’ll probably succeed at whatever they want to do with their lives. Marinette lives a glamorized life, because everything in Miraculous is glamorized, especially the rich.

That's why any attempt at criticism directed at rich people falls flat. Like, everything the writers try seems to fall flat but here it's because of this: they want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to say: “eat the rich” because that's a popular and a progressive enough for most take, but they also want to glamorize the trappings of the ultra wealthy: the houses, the cars, the privileges, the fame. This is how all the rich abuse victims have their abuse hand waved away, in addition to the literal dehumanization, the show tries to tell us their lives are so great that obviously they should just be happy.

This is also why Miraculous has so much drama that doesn't lead to anything. The dramatic moments are all the writers care about. The crew behind the show puts glamorous appearances over meaningful theming, both in how it treats its rich characters and in how it treats any of its plotlines.

“I love watching young royals watching sporting events because I think we see more of their personalities and the Paris Olympics did not disappoint. I think Amalia is very much her parents' child the way she cheered for the Dutch teams, she was not holding back on showing excitement and facial expressions, can't say the same for Alexia who did not look as thrilled to be at the matches. I always thought Leonor was more cheeky than Sofia who always seemed more reserved to me (Leonor did start acting more guarded in public when she got older, maybe that's why people started assuming she's shy), Leonor looked very invested in the matches particularly the beach volleyball match where Sofia was just chill smiling while her sister looked stress, there was also a video at the fencing match when Leonor shouted and shot up from her seat after the winning hit and it took a while for Sofia to get on her feet and it could very well be because Leonor plays volleyball and is a fencer, but overall I think Leonor is more animated and Sofia is more reserved. Even as a child Elisabeth seemed very calm and reserved compared to her siblings. And it still looks that way at their appearances in the Olympics. Gabriel seems the most passionate and emotional, followed by Eleanore, then Emmanuel shows excitement but he looks mostly calm like his older sister.” - Submitted by Anonymous

Angsty sword lesbian. To be fair, almost every single character from this anime is queer and has a sword but it says something that she's one of the best fencers in her school.

For Xena:

It is HER! The OG woman with a blade! 

Her show was so iconic that any lesbian over the age of 30 knows her IMMEDIATELY because this show probably helped her have her awakening. Fandom foremothers and fathers rise up and get your gal a title.

An all around badass, bisexual woman, comfortable with many different bladed weapons. Her show was so much better than Hercules people forget his exists.

Xena is one of the OGs: once a baddie who turned good, she's a warrior who uses swords, daggers, and her trusty chakram to defeat evil and defend the innocent, while traveling with her kickass girlfriend Gabrielle. 

She has many skills

Was musing on the Aware AU and how the trio internalize and process the abuse and otherwise contextualize or understand and communicate it or otherwise maybe fail to do so.

Because realizing a parent is unfair or doesn't care or is cruel is one thing. It can often be another to straight up be aware of and say you are an abuse victim.

Be it because they are young and thus even with the spread of therapy speak, being able to use it effectively on themselves is hard.

Or because abuse victims don't often look like they do, IE, aren't usually mega rich heirs to powerful names. Even if being a rich child can be rather akin to being an exotic talking pet given none of that money is theirs.

Sad money also makes getting empathy hard and feeling there is a way out even harder. They may not want the former or at least not desire it consciously. But its also a case of, "If we were even believed what could anyone do?"

But then there's also the more personal takes on things, such as how:

Adrien may not blame himself for his fathers inability to love him (Or at least love him in a not terrible way) but he sure as hell blames himself for "Fooling himself" for so long. He's known Gabriel his whole life, he is his son, if anyone should have figured out what he was like it was Adrien. But he didn't so he can't blame anyone else for not seeing it.

Then there's stuff like media where cold and controlling parents get redemption arcs by being soft once or the like. Adrien's just throwing popcorn at the screen, "He's lying to you, its a trick, he'll never change!"

Kagami genuinely loves fencing, she loves how skilled she is, she loves that she is a world renowned fencer. This makes it hard to deal with when abuse is woven into training, such as with overly violent spars, or with training sessions that see her hit the ground and then be forced up again and again.

She's used to her body hurting after training, the issue isn't the punishment, its how arbitrary and unfairly her mother applies them Compounded with the social isolation, control and emotional repression which she has a hard time naming. Meanwhile you have Marinette just wanting to scream because Tomoe is intentionally harming her daughter as punishment.

She'd likely need an outsider to highlight the punishment spars themselves are a bad idea that hinder rather than help her. That the pain itself was wrong, not just when or why it was applied. Kagami is proud of who she is and what she can do. So to some degree she sort of.. Needs the trauma. Because if it was unnecessary, if it isn't how she got so good, then it was just pain.

Chloe has the. other victims do not look like me jacked up to eleven. Most victims are not rich, most people who are aggressive (In her research) are physical and were harmed physically. Most don't have mayor fathers who bailed them out of trouble, though be it to make her reliant on them and feed his own self esteem, hence encouraging her acting out as it fed him.

But its also because she chose to imitate Audrey. She chose this path in order to win her parents love and it didn't even work. She chose this and now she is not choosing it but something else. She had agency in this god dammit and don't you dare tell her otherwise! She is not a victim! She is not weak!

Feeding into that is stuff like Andre actively and outright teaching her, "Extortion, intimidation, bribery, these are how you win a campaign." Because even as she restructures herself, part of her still defaults to these, part of her still sees them as pragmatic and useful. Part of her thinks they will be needed for her and the people they care about. So again, was it abuse or just Andre being bad at parenting?

Plus on the physical side of things, there is some stuff that can be bled into headcanon, among other things... But one thing I would note is that canon Chloe grabbing Zoe and inspecting her like livestock before giving her approval. How she gets so aggressively close and into people's space when she otherwise seems to try and be distant. This screams learned behavior and we can't even blame it all on Audrey cos she was more of a: Fly in tear my daughter apart and leave parent. With likely a mix of social media, calls and streams, or rejection from and via those to compound things. So she's getting this heavily from Andre. But its not overt, its not hitting, it can't be abuse then, because Chloe is too different to the victims she finds, too different to be seen as a victim.

All true! I don’t think any of the kids would apply the words "abuse victim" to themselves. Like, their parent suck. They suck SO BAD. Their parents are awful people who aren’t going to change. They know this. They accept this. But I'm not a VICTIM. I'm not ABUSED. I'm not what that looks like. It doesn’t apply to me(derogatory).

Funnily enough, they might apply it to EACH OTHER. Chloé absolutely thinks Gabriel is emotionally neglecting Adrien. Adrien thinks André and Audrey emotionally abuse Chloé. They both think Tomoe abuses Kagami. But it doesn’t apply to themselves, and they don’t bring it up or try to convince each other.

Lily is an artist who sees the world in her own social way that she would express it with her art. She is a sweet and kind hearted persona in general yet tend to be oblivious and reckless at time. She dose not have the best social skills or cues so her ways to interact with other may be unique.

Lily has Prosopagnosia (aka face blindness) so she tend to draw portraits of ppl she met to remember how they look like yet she is able to remember in certain level the faces of those who close to her such as her brother

Even tho she do wear hair metal rings accessories I may not draw them as often so just imagine her sometimes she wear them sometimes not

She keeps a sketchbook with her when going outside to draw whatever and whoever she lay eyes upon and may draw you a lil gift while at it

For some reason she sometimes like to have ppl draw on her sketch book to get to know them better and also study their personality through their art style while talking to them

She to this day keeps all the painted estra eggs Rosalyn had given her💕

Despite appearing as strict and cold at first, when talking to him you would immediately realise he is such a caring person who is calm and collected and with a strong mother like nature towards everyone and especially his little sister. He tend to be more down to earth and logical yet he would not mind to mess around as well when he feel like it and only around those who he is comfortable with… He may get a bit too worried and paranoid at times tho~

About his Grandmother, the way she passed away is because she got a heart attack while trying her best to stop Gabriel’s biological father from harming him in which left Gabriel with a lot of guilt about it.

Due to his Parents abuse and how they used to hit him with a stick a lot behind his legs, there is some scars on his legs, not so noticeable now but if you take a closer look you can see them.

Despite everything, Gabriel dose not truly hate his parents yet he also dose not like them and of course would not forgive them for what they put himself through but he understands they also victims much like him and grew up in a strict household when they were young but sadly they ended up becoming much like their abuser. Even tho he still sometimes wonder if he should contact them after so long even after he faked his own death…

Gabriel holds a lot of guilt even when a lot of them were never his fault, he always feel as the oldest he should be responsible for a lot of things and when something bad happen he would assume is because he wasn’t strong or responsible enough.

His left eye had been removed all together so he doesn’t have any eye under his eyepatch but.

He has an eye glass that he sometimes wears but not too often and honestly he kinda forgot about it.

Has autism too (yay autism siblings!)

Would train a lot out in the garden

His top scars look like wings :D! (Also I know mostly that top surgery was not a thing back in 18th but I kinda forgot and tbh who care? Let my boy have top surgery!)

He let Lily draw over his top scars and overall all of his body while he do the same to her at time as a way to bond together in a silly way

The mother of the group honestly, among all my OCs he is the one who make sure they all stay in line and not get themselves in trouble.

Really likes cute thing and may get cute aggression but would not show it when people are around lol

He stop being religious after he started his new life and even tho he no longer Christian he still believe there is a god out there so he is agnostic despite all the religious trauma he went through.

Really care and love kids

Aside from fencing his hubby tend to go from cooking to writing poems

He has a really good singing voice that he used to be the lead in the choir in the church

Okay bear with here because I’ve got a lot, and some of them have been heavily changed. I’ll make a master post someday! And not all of them I’ve mentioned on my tumblr. So here’s the names and a bit of description of them:

Unworldly compulsion and consumption- (my main au)

Through a horrific accidents, Chloe is given the power of compulsion from a beast. This creates a series of horrific events as Chloe’s mental health spirals out of control and her powers cause massive problems.

Chloe basically becomes a vampiric cannibal, and ends up accidentally traumatising her own parents. She goes and visits multiple points in history, as a form of relaxation via Bunnyx.

Gabriel is more evil with being both a magical terrorist with a longer list of crimes to his name. And obsessing over Audrey. Though he doesn’t have his own weird secret society thing.

There are multiple secret societies/cults that exist and are trying to get the power of compulsion for themselves. (Gabriel was not allowed to be apart of any of these societies because no one likes him) with Richard Sphinx leading one.

Miraculous/Barbie crossover-

Through Pollen’s actions to give Chloe an actual chance at life, Chloe ends up in Barbie 12 dancing princess and princess and the pauper. She becomes a talented jouster, fencer and ballet dancer.

Pretty much an adoption/isekai au.

Hellfire and Ash-

Gabriel almost kills Andre and Audrey, then burns down the house to destroy any evidence. Nooroo takes Chloe to the kwamii realm where she’s raised. At the age of 12 she’s allowed to go to Francois DuPont where she makes her first real human friends.

Little Red Riding Chloe-

Literally just Little Red Riding Hood with miraculous characters. Chloe being Little Red Riding hood.

The Girl in the House-

Instead of Gabriel, Audrey has the butterfly and peacock miraculous. She works on her own and is trying to get the Ladybug and Cat miraculous so she relieve Andre of his illness and prevent future members of her family from suffering of it. She’s not abusive, though she is becoming more negligent.

Chloe turns to baking and gardening to deal with her emotions and starts dating Kagami.

Chloe’s a princess in the medieval era. This au is being overhauled because originally Audrey was evil, but her personality has accidentally went to Orchids and Memories Audrey.

Chloe accidentally gets ahold of a full miraculous box, making her the new usher to herald in the new apocalypse. From there Chloe takes onto far too many responsibilities and most of the class end up involved trying to keep her lies going. Such as Chloe and Felix temporarily taking over Andre’s job as mayor of Paris. And most of the class trying to help raise Chloe’s little brother.

The only reason she ends up taking on so many responsibilities is because she uses the miraculous of pestilence too early and accidentally infects her parents with it. So they spend most of the fic dying of multiple separate diseases.

The miraculous are based off of the four horsemen and the 10 aspects from Bleach (I have never seen Bleach) as well as some other miraculous Chloe gets along the way. Also some inspiration from Youjo Senki.

Miraculous/Tales of Terror crossover-

Is literally just the final segment of Tales of Terror (1962). But with miraculous characters.

Orchids and Memories-

What would happen legally to the Agrestes if Gabriel gets caught?

Like his money, his house, his company, what would he get charged with, and what would happen to Adrien since he's a minor? I've tried to look it up on my own, but its kinda hard since the whole magic/superhero thing, I think he also committed crimes in other places (didn't he cause chaos in Shanghai and America?), and I live in America (he lives in France) so there's also the difference in laws there. Also what would happen to his employees?

Will Adrien have to live with the next of kin, like one of his grandparents (if they're even still alive)? Will Gabriel's whole company and fortune go to him when Gabes in prison? Or will it just sit in some bank (the money that is) until he gets out (if he does) with Adrien unable to access it. Will the government take everything? Can Adrien technically still live in his house even though he's a minor? Will the authorities arrest Adrien considering he was Hawkmoth's son and could theoretically have helped him (since Ladybug and Chat noir are teenagers and are so capable it may make people think Adrien could have had a role even though he's just a kid.)?

He's probably at least gonna be questioned. Adrien like knows none of his relatives except like Felix and his Aunt too, what if he ends up having to live with a 'complete' stranger not in Paris?? With Felix i'm pretty sure it be pretty chill though considering emotion, (Amelie really be letting Felix do what ever he wants, lol)

Also what about Kagami? If Gabriel goes down he's taking Tomoe down with him (maybe even others.) Her rings literally are what's giving the akumas miraculous powers. She probably gonna be investigated (probably the whole company.) Will she also go to jail? Will Kagami be technically an orphan as well? Does she even have any relatives to go to (though isn't she part of a family of skilled fencers?) Will she have to go back to Japan? Is everyone just gonna live at Felix's? 🤣

Well, I've only written for supercorp 🤣 My all-time favorite will probably always be Xena/Gabrielle, but supercorp is probably second. (Further down the line... Bones/Booth, Rizzles, and Scully/Mulder?)

Kara: I think Kara has the ability to detect magnetic fields (and possibly to detect polarized light as well). I'm not sure when or why that'd be useful, but it just seems like the sort of power she'd have.

Lena: We know Lena is a champion fencer, and I am asserting that she fenced sabre (rather than foil or epee).

Thinking on Lila cos of those other asks & recalled that "Adrien is not allowed to go to school" AU I think we discussed or maybe it was with generaluxum?

Either way, the story is mostly the same, LB & Chat are more overtly into each other but the identity thing makes them mark their relationship as "Its complicated."

one third of episodes focus on Mari, Alya & Nino and their adventures, with a subplot of Adrien, Chloe & Sabrina doing shenanigans. IE Cosplay confusion in Lady Wifi, or playing online shooters with a surprisingly aggressive Sabrina while Gamer is happening.

Another third of episodes centering on Adrien's adventures with Chloe & Sabrina there for support. While Mari & co get up to minor stuff before the plot hits them. Like Mari trying to help Nino & Alya's valentine plans or fix the broken phone issue.

The remaining third are crossover episodes, usually brought about by Chloe sneaking Adrien into class group stuff (Nino's film) or him trying to help with her election campaign, or being on hand for the hat contest.

The complexities come from Volpina/Collector.

Mostly because Volpina doesn't happen, Lila lying is a Marinette related subplot with her trying to get Lila alone as LB to explain that's dangerous. Only for an Akuma whipped up chasing the Lila rumor to find them & lead Gabriel & the public to conclude LB is indeed buddies with Lila.

Meanwhile the main plot is Adrien fining the book, almost being discovered by Gabriel. But convenient Chloe rant incoming about this "Haught Lila girl" letting him slip away with said book & with Plagg's advice & Chloe's help going for a massage. She deduces his identity.

This leads to the Collector being a case where Gabriel suspects Adrien & Marientte (As Lila transferred into her class). While Adrien and once introduced to Fu, Marinette suspect Gabriel.

Which leads to the Collector trying to go after them both to win and protect his identity & Fu having to roll out the Fox & bring Alya & Chloe in to help covered for an already captured in civilian forms Marinette & Adrien.

Gabriel plays off the book thing & had also 'collected' Nathalie, so he's mostly safe but does maybe lose the book.

Thus setting up the S2 status quo of:

Lila being Hawk Moth's new designated damsel much to her ire. "I didn't think the local supervillain would take me seriously, but I can't walk it back now, I'd look stupid!"

Chloe & Alya being secret keepers for their besties as well as back up heroes. Also less classroom drama as Chloe decided the school stuff is kids stuff & is obsessed with being a good hero now, so distracted.

Nino & Sabrina being back up, back up heroes as Hawk Moth becomes increasingly effective. Sabrina gets the Horse.

Kagami serving as the connective element between heroes civilian lives via:

Being in Adrien & Chloe's circles & so being encouraged to be friends with them. Being one of the few people Adrien is allowed to hang out with, & her skills meaning she is a go to in Adrien's eyes if he ever gets to recruit a third hero.

Plus, because her first day at school was kind of a hot mess thanks to her whole story tropes challenge the best fencer thing did less to make her look cool & more to make her look like a jerk leading to Akumatization. Cos LB was on hand for an explanation after the fact she as Marinette befriends Kagami & smooth over ruffled feathers. Kagami decides she is friend shaped & is always inviting her, Alya & Nino to events. Also Marinette deems her a potential go to as well. (Chloe is silently screaming off camera, "How come she gets to push people around and get friends!?")

Not sure if any of the other Kwami would be shuffled cos of these events, IE maybe fox Nino cos he's a director or the like.

I think that's a bit complicated but it works quite well!

Ok I've been thinking about this and I have a few possibilities:

The Fencing Match Between d'Eon and Saint-Georges

This is almost too obvious. But it's iconic. She was wearing her iconic black dress. It shows her as the very capable fencer she was. It's just very d'Eon.

On the 9th of April 1787 d'Eon fenced Saint-Georges at Carlton House.

The London Chronicle gave the following account of the match in their 12-14 April, 1787 issue:

Mademoiselle D’Eon exhibited a curious spectacle at the assault which was performed before the Prince of Wales last Monday. The novelty of a Lady in petticoats engaging the most experienced and able masters of the noble science of defence, excited universal pleasantry. Those who were not perfectly acquainted with the Chevalier’s history stood in amazement, and even such as had formerly known her en culottes, were not a little surprized at the skill she displayed in fencing with Mr. St. George. Her petticoats did not incommode her in the least, and it was very clear that this retired Captain of Dragoons is much more expert at the riporte than a curtsey, and handles a foil with more grace than she does a fan. The assault upon the whole proved highly entertaining, and the satisfaction of the company was not a little encreased by the affability and engaging condescension of the Prince of Wales, than whom no man possesses more the spirit of elegant hospitality, and the captivating manners of the polished gentleman.

John Buchan Telfer reprints the following contemporary newspaper article in his biography on d’Eon:

The most remarkable occurrence of the fencing match at Carlton House was the assault between Monsieur de Saint-George and Mademoiselle D'Eon, the latter though encumbered, as she humorously declared herself, with three petticoats, that suited her sex much better than her spirit, not only parried skilfully all the thrusts of her powerful antagonist, but even touched him by what is termed a coup de temps, which all his dexterity could not ward off. We hear that a celebrated painter has undertaken to hit off the semblance and attitude of the hero and heroine in this very interesting scene. Mademoiselle D'Eon had modesty enough, on her hitting Monsieur de Saint-George, to set it down to his complaisance; but the latter candidly declared that he had done all in his power to ward against it. A gentleman present assures us that nothing could equal the quickness of the repartee, especially considering that the modem Pallas is nearly in her sixtieth year, and had to cope with a young man equally skilful and vigorous.

The painter referred to in this article is Alexandre-Auguste Robineau who painted this depiction of the match.

If you're going to do this one I'd consider using the Mather Brown portrait of Saint-Georges as a reference. Saint-Georges himself said "c'est si resemblant c'est affreux" [it's so lifelike it's frightful]. (The Chevalier de Saint-Georges by Gabriel Banat p342)

A Different Fencing Match

To mix it up you could depict her fencing Mrs. Bateman whom d'Eon had a professional partnership with. D’Eon complimented Bateman’s fencing skills describing her as “a youngling in her nest, that would rise and support the honour of female heroism in England.” (Diary or Woodfall's Register, 18 Jan 1793)

On Thursday the 30th of May 1793 Mrs. Bateman held a benefit night at the King’s Theatre in Haymarket. There was a performance of All in the Wrong, Mrs. Bateman played Lady Restless. The Morning Chronicle reports “After the play, the Chevalier D’Eon in generosity of friendship, displayed her wonderful talent in fencing. She first pushed carte and tierce with her youthful imitator, Mrs. Bateman.” (31 May 1793)

You could also depict her fencing a gentleman in her stays and petticoats. D'Eon finding woman's clothes restrictive when fencing started to strip down to allow for more mobility. This incident caused a bit of a commotion in the English press.

After her fencing display with Mrs. Bateman at the King’s Theatre in Haymarket d'Eon fenced with a gentleman, in preparation she “pulled off her jacket, and thus stripped to her stays, with her handkerchief loose over them, and short petticoats that did not come half way down her legs”. (The Times, 31 May 1793)

The Sun was scandalised writing that “the indecent circumstance of her stripping herself to her stays, preparatory to her fencing, gave a very general disgust.” And while The Times conceded credit to “the Lady’s science and activity” they were horrified “to see an old masculine woman of sixty thus attired, and publicly exposing herself on the stage,” declaring that it was “an indecency which we shall never suffer to pass by without a very severe animadversion.” (The Sun, 31 May 1793; The Times, 31 May 1793)

Her Presentation at Versailles

After d'Eon returned to France in 1777 she was presented to the King and Queen at Versailles. While she had already been telling people she was a woman before this point and was already legally acknowledged to be a woman this was important because it was the first time she was being publicly acknowledged by Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette as a woman in a formal context.

On the 23rd of November 1777 Mémoires secrets pour servir à l'histoire de la République des Lettres en France reported:

Il doit y avoir aujourd'hui un concours de monde prodigieux à Versailles. Ensin la présentation du Chevalier d'Eon represent son sexe véritable, qui est celui de femme, annoncée depuis longtems, va s'effectuer dans son nouveau costume. In the weeks leading up to the event d'Eon was prepared by Marie Antoinette's marchande de modes Mademoiselle Bertin. Bertin worked not only on d'Eon's dress but to teach her how to move in it. At the French court women were required to wear the grand habit de cour which was a lot for d'Eon to get used to:

La plus grande peine de M.ˡˡᵉ Bertin fut de me faire attraper la marche. la demarche, & la contremarche d'une femme à la Cour, de me faire avancer & reculer noblement en robe longue & deplyèe sur un vaste panier qui à lui seul remplissoit la monitié de ma chambre. Mais l'aimable & doucereuse Bertin aprés s'etre insinueé fort avant dans mon amitié, me fit avancer & réculer comme elle voulut, elle me fit faire toute ce quelle jugea convenable aux habitudes, aux usages & à la décence qu'on demandoit en moi. [The greatest difficulty for Mademoiselle Bertin was to make me learn the march, dismarch, & countermarch of a woman of the Court, to make me move forward & backward nobly in a long gown spread over an enormous hoop which on its own filled half of my chamber. But the kind & sweet Bertin after being strongly insinuated in my friendship before, made me more forward & back as she willed, she made me do all that she thought proper to the habits customs & decency that was required of me.]**

D'Eon complained that the first time Mademoiselle Bertin dressed her it took four hours and and ten minutes:

Je vous dirai que ma premiere toilette entre les mains de la chaste Bertin & de ses modestes Aides-de Camp, fut accomplie en moins de quatre heures dix minutes! juger de mon tourment & de ma patience! [I will tell you that my first toilette at the hands of the chaste Bertin & her modest Aides-de-Camp, was completed in less than four hours ten minutes! Judge my torment & my patience!]**

In repose to d'Eon's complaining Mademoiselle Bertin told her:

Mon brave capitaine ne jurez pas. Le jour que vous serez presentée au Roi & à la Renie, vous serez bien heureuse, si je ne vous fais pas lever à quatre heures du matin, pour être prête à une heure aprés midi [My brave captain do not curse. The day that you will be presented to the King & to the Queen, you will be very happy, if I do not make you rise at four in the morning to be ready at one in the afternoon]**

Of course we know d'Eon was wearing her cross of St. Louis but we unfortunately don't have a detailed description of her presentation gown. In her autobiographical writings d'Eon says it was made of embroidered white satin. Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell in her article Dressing d'Eon comments that this seems odd as "etiquette stipulated that only debutantes in mourning could wear white, rather than black, which was reserved for presentation at court, mourning, and some religious habits in the eighteenth century." She suggested d'Eon may be "literally whitewashing" history but concedes that it is possible that her "presentation coincided with one of the frequent and somewhat arbitrary periods of court mourning." (p104)

During the time d'Eon spent at Versailles she had to wear both formal and informal dress as dictated by the Court calendar. She commented that "Le deshabillé me convient fort, mais quand il ma faut porter le grand habbillement [sic] avec ajustement & parure c'est pour moi un grand tourment" [The informal dress suited me very well, but when I had to wear the formal dress with accessories and jewels, it was a great torment for me]**.
