All Things - Scully is finishing up the autopsy of a person at a hospital. A file mix-up involving the autopsy folder and another patient's x-ray leads Scully to discover a former lover of hers has been admitted at the hospital. Meeting with him again causes Scully to re-examine the decisions she has made in her life, leading to her where she is to today.

idk if it's too late to admit this but. i have been watching the x-files for 16 years. i have done multiple rewatches of the whole show start to finish. i have a reasonable grasp on the insanity that is the myth arc. but. I STILL have no idea what happens in the erlenmeyer flask. like literally. Everything in that 40 minutes might as well be in Greek. What the fuck is a purity control. Why are they so interested in a bottle of monkey pee anyway. What the hell is that frozen alien thing. Every time I sit down to watch it I'm like "ok THIS is the time i'm finally going 2 understand it!!" and then I just. Don't.

ok i know they said the alien fetus came from the roswell crash but the aliens don’t reproduce sexually so none of them could have been pregnant and why would they carry their gestating young around in spaceships instead of keeping them someplace safer like a planet god just send me back in time and put me in charge of mytharc continuity

just finished the last ep of txf season 1 and i gotta admit i have no idea how this show will manage to go on for another like eight seasons or whatever. like the dynamic of believer/skeptic was really workable before scully’s experience in ‘beyond the sea’, and after that ep, it worked insomuch as you can imagine her conflicted between wanting to believe and being scared to. But in the finale of season 1 she literally holds an alien foetus in front of her eyes, and the shock of that can only last for so long. how can the show go back to believer/skeptic monster-of-the-weeks after this? I would expect the second season to be like, mulder and scully working to expose the government cover up of aliens or whatever, maybe scully to tussle with the belief/skepticism tug-of-war for a bit more, maybe one of them dies or something else major happens, and then ultimately the show ends. Maybe one more season if they’re really milking it. But like there are literally 9 seasons. Plus an extra two revival seasons. like HOW
